Abstract: 日本原子力研究開発機構(JAEA)廃炉環境国際共同研究センター(CLADS)では、令和2年度英知を結集した原子力科学技術・人材育成推進事業(以下、「本事業」という)を実施している。本事業は、東京電力ホールディングス株式会社福島第一原子力発電所の廃炉等をはじめとした原子力分野の課題解決に貢献するため、国内外の英知を結集し、様々な分野の知見や経験を、従前の機関や分野の壁を越えて緊密に融合・連携させた基礎的・基盤的研究及び人材育成を推進することを目的としている。平成30年度の新規採択課題から実施主体を文部科学省からJAEAに移行することで、JAEAとアカデミアとの連携を強化し、廃炉に資する中長期的な研究開発・人材育成をより安定的かつ継続的に実施する体制を構築した。本研究は、研究課題のうち、平成30年度に採択された「放射性核種の長期安定化を指向した使用済みゼオライト焼結固化技術の開発」の平成30年度から令和3年度の研究成果について取りまとめたものである(令和3年度まで契約延長)。本課題は令和3年度が最終年度となるため4年度分の成果を取りまとめた。本研究は、継続して発生するCs等の放射性核種を吸着したゼオライト(使用済みIE-96)にガラスをバインダーとして添加し、それらを焼結することで核種を固定化する新たな焼結固化法の開発を目的とする。本研究では、コールド試験により焼結固化の最適条件および焼結固化体の基礎性能を評価し、ホット試験でそれらを実証する。令和2年度において、最適化された条件で作製した焼結固化体は、優れた化学的安定性を有することをコールド試験で明らかにした。また、ホット試験において焼結固化体は、優れた化学的安定性を有することを実証した。さらに、ホット試験において焼結固化作製におけるCsの揮発率はわずかであることを確認した。焼結固化法のプロセスフロー、機器装置、仕様等を示した。また、焼結固化法の各種データを他の固化法と比較して評価し、焼結固化法に優位性があることを確認した。, The Collaborative Laboratories for Advanced Decommissioning Science (CLADS), Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), had been conducting the Nuclear Energy Science \& Technology and Human Resource Development Project (hereafter referred to "the Project") in FY2020. The Project aims to contribute to solving problems in the nuclear energy field represented by the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO). For this purpose, intelligence was collected from all over the world, and basic research and human resource development were promoted by closely integrating/collaborating knowledge and experiences in various fields beyond the barrier of conventional organizations and research fields. The sponsor of the Project was moved from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to JAEA since the newly adopted proposals in FY2018. On this occasion, JAEA constructed a new research system where JAEA-academia collaboration is reinforced and medium-to-long term research/development and human resource development contributing to the decommissioning are stably and consecutively implemented. Among the adopted proposals in FY2018, this report summarizes the research results of the "Development of the sintering solidification method for spent zeolite to long-term stabilization" conducted from FY2018 to FY2021 (this contract was extended to FY2021). Since the final year of this proposal was FY2021, the results for four fiscal years were summarized. The present study aims to develop a new sintering solidification method in which glass is added as a binder to spent zeolite which is adsorbed radionuclides such as Cs and the nuclides are immobilized by sintering them. In this project, the optimum conditions for sintering solidification and the basic performance of the sintered solidified body will be evaluated by cold tests, and they will be demonstrated by hot tests. Among the adopted proposals in FY2018, this report summarizes the research results of the "Development of the Sintering Solidification Method for Spent Zeolite to Long-term Stabilization". The present study aims to develop the sintering solidification method for zeolites (spent zeolites) that adsorbs continuously generated radionuclides such as cesium. The sintering solidification method is able to stabilize adsorbed radionuclides such as cesium in zeolites by adding a glass as a binder to spent zeolite and sintered it. It is expected that the sintering solidification method is significantly reduce the volume of the solidified body compare with the glass solidification method and to form a stable solidified body equivalent to the calcination solidification method. In this project, we planned to select a glass suitable for the sintering solidification method and optimize the sintering temperature, etc. using non-radioactive nuclides (cold tests), and verify it by using radioactive nuclides (hot tests). In FY2018, we investigated the thermal properties of candidate glasses for binder and the effect of heating atmosphere on the sintering solidification method. Irradiated fuel for preparing simulated contaminated water containing radionuclides was selected and the condition of it was observed. In addition, we surveyed existing research results and latest research trends about solidification of zeolite, calcination solidification and so on.

Abstract: In the present paper, we calculated the occurrence probabilities of the third year branching pattern models of two Psychotria species (Psychotria rubra and Psychotria manillensis) on Okinawa Island. As the results of our calculation, we found that some particular models had higher probabilities for P.rubra. On the other hand, the differences among the probabilities of the models for P.manillensis were small., 本稿では沖縄島に生育するボチョウジ属2種（ボチョウジとナガミボチョウジ）に対しての3年目の分枝発生モデル157個の生起確率を計算した．その結果、ポチョウジは特定のモデルが高い確率を有していたのに対し、ナガミボチョウジはそれぞれのモデルの確率の差が小さいことがわかった．

Abstract: type:Journal Article, A new collaborative research project for systematic treatments of radioactive liquid wastes containing various reagents generating in nuclear facilities was started from 2018 initiated by Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The project was named as STRAD (Systematic Treatments of RAdioactive liquid wastes for Decommissioning) project. Tentative targets to be studied under the project are aqueous and organic liquid wastes which have been generated by experiments and analyses in a reprocessing experimental laboratory of JAEA. Currently fundamental studies for treatments of the liquid wastes with complicated compositions are underway. In the STRAD project, process flow for treatment of ammonium ion involved in aqueous waste was designed though the inactive experiments, and decomposition of ammonium ion using catalysis will be carried out soon. Adsorbents for recovery of U and Pu from spent solvent were also developed. Demonstration experiments on genuine spent solvent is under planning., source:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pnucene.2019.103090

Angiogenesis is also beneficial in tissue recovery byreperfusion of ischemic tissue but is maladaptive for arteriosclerosis, diabetes andtumor growth. It is therefore important to be able to control angiogenesis. In vitroexperiments have significantly advanced our understanding of angiogenesis.Many kinds of in vitro angiogenesis models have been designed to study theeffects of angiogenesis regulators（e.g. growth factors）. We have assessed theeffect of shear stress and extracellular matrix on angiogenesis using several invitro models. Our results reveal that these factors affect properties of endothelialcells in angiogenesis and each model has a future prospect relating to thedirection of each specific study.

Abstract: International audience; In this paper, two main superconducting compounds have been studied: • The first study was focused on the preparation of magnesium diboride (MgB2) cryo-magnets by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). The role of the starting powder on the superconducting properties of MgB2 is investigated. Different sets of bulk MgB2 material were processed from: (i) a commercial available powder, (ii) a mixture of Mg metal and amorphous B using a single-step solid-state reaction process and (iii) a mixture of amorphous boron coated with carbon and Mg metal. The samples were prepared in tungsten carbide moulds varying the processing conditions by the modulation of the temperature, the dwell time and the applied pressure. The microstructures of the samples were investigated by SEM and TEM and correlated to their superconducting properties. The best sample was prepared at 850°C, 20 min and 100 MPa. At 20 K its critical current density (Jc) was 500 kA/cm2. Here in, we demonstrate that MgB2 is an excellent candidate to make cryo-magnets, maintaining 3.9 T at 20 K at the surface of a 20 mm diameter disk.• The SPS was modified with the aim of obtaining textured lamellar compounds with Bi2Ca2Sr2CuO8 superconductor ceramics. The new process is referred to as “Spark Plasma Texturing” (SPT). During SPT, the bulk material can freely deform itself. As a result, the formation of an inter-grain preferential crystallographic orientation is favoured. The superconducting properties were measured and discussed in correlation with textured microstructure analysis.

Abstract: International audience; MgB2 pellets that were sintered by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) from commercial MgB2 powder were soldered by a SPS process and compared to unsoldered ones. The soldered samples were characterized by scanning and transmission electron microscopy which have shown no visible defects at the junction. SQUID magnetometry and four probes resistance measurements have confirmed that the soldered pellets present the same magnetic properties as the unsoldered ones. The presented soldering technique could find applications for manufacturing superconducting devices with custom shapes which could be used as rotors for motors and generators, magnets and magnetic shields. This new approach could generate a high potential interest for industrials in these and connected domains such as the development of new electrical planes using superconducting technologies.

Abstract: International audience; The magnetic flux dissipation from the MgB 2 bulk magnets during pulsed field magnetization (PFM) processes has been estimated for the samples fabricated by hot-pressing (HP) and spark plasma sintering (SPS). We defined the parameters as field penetration ratio B P /B a and the field trapping ratio B T /B P to evaluate the flux motion and performance. The data plots of trapping ratio B T /B P showed us two regions which originate from the fast flux flow and flux jump. The field trapping performance was drastically degraded when the flux jump happened. Flux jump happened at various times after the peak field. A very late flux jump happened at 420 ms which severely degraded the trapped field. This time delay, much larger than the heat propagation time in the MgB 2 sample, remains to be explained.

Abstract: International audience; The Pulsed Field Magnetization (PFM) is a compact and fast method to magnetize superconducting bulks compared to the field cooling method. However, the heat generation induced by the strong applied variable magnetic field during the PFM makes high trapped magnetic field harder to achieve. In order to make the REBaCuO bulks easier to magnetize by PFM, superconducting bulks including a superconducting weld are studied taking into account the thermal and electromagnetic properties of the weld different from those of the bulk body. This artificial grain boundary obtained by superconducting welding method might increase the trapped magnetic flux without increasing the applied magnetic field. In this paper, we are modelling the superconducting weld behavior during PFM using a 3D finite element model with the software COMSOL Multiphysics. The simulations are based on an H-formulation from Maxwell's equations and the heat diffusion equation. We analyse the impact of the critical current Jc of the weld on the trapped magnetic field.

Abstract: High-Temperature Superconductors (HTS) considerably accelerate the development of superconducting machines for electrical engineering applications such as fully electrical aircraft. This present contribution is an overview of different superconducting materials that can be used as magnetic screens for the inductor of high specific power electrical machines. The impact of the material properties, such as the critical temperature (Tc) and the critical current density (Jc), on the machine performances is evaluated. In addition, the relevance to flux modulation machines of different HTS bulk synthesis methods are addressed.

Abstract: International audience; Mg-B superconducting bulk materials are characterized as simple and uniform metallic compounds, and capable of trapping homogeneous field with beautiful conical shapes. Although pulsed-field magnetization technique (PFM) is expected as a cheap and an easy way to activate them, the heat generation due to magnetic flux motion in bulk magnets causes serious degradation of captured fields. It is important to suppress the flux motions during PFM to decrease the heat generation. In this study, authors precisely estimated the flux trapping to the bulk samples, found that the flux-shielding effect related to the sample dimensions. Moreover, the Ti-addition to the bulk sample affected the frequency of flux jump happenings. The magnetic field capturing of 5.0wt%Ti-added samples reached the highest value of 0.76 T, while the starting point of magnetic field invasion into the sample centre shifted from 1.0 T to 1.2 T with increasing sample thickness from 3.67 mm to 5.80 mm. The occurrence of flux jumps was suppressed in 5.0wt%Ti-dopped sample, which means that the heat capacity of the compounds shifted with varying Ti addition, effectively prevented the flux jumps.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2020-12-01 Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft The microstructure and magnetic characterizations of non-woven, fabric-like YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) nanofiber mats are reported. The samples were produced by solution blow spinning (SBS), starting from a sol-gel solution of the precursor materials in polyvinylpyrrolidone. In the present work, the nanowire network samples were morphologically characterized by scanning electron microscopy, and the superconducting properties were measured by magnetometry. An interesting feature is the appearance of a paramagnetic Meissner effect (PME) when field-cooling, firstly verified in that sort of sample. The PME appears only in very small applied magnetic fields, which is similar to previous observations of the PME on an artificially granular YBCO thin film, but distinctly different from bulk samples investigated in the literature. Thus, we explain the PME by flux trapping within the voids of the nanoporous structure of the nanofiber mats. [Figure not available: see fulltext.]. Abstract: On Krylov subspace methods such as the Conjugate Gradient (CG), the number of iterations until convergence may increase due to the loss of computation accuracy caused by rounding errors in floating-point computations. Besides, as the order of operations is non-deterministic on parallel computations, the result and the behavior of the convergence may be non-identical in different environments, even for the same input. This paper presents a new approach for the CG method with high accuracy as well as bit-level reproducibility of computed solutions on many-core processors, including both x86 CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs. In our proposed approach, accurate and reproducible operations are installed into all the inner-product based operations such as matrix-vector multiplication and dot-product, which are the main sources that may disturb reproducibility in the CG method. The accurate and reproducible operations are performed using the Ozaki scheme, which is the error-free transformation for dot-product that can ensure the correct-rounding. As this method can be built upon vendor-provided linear algebra libraries such as Intel Math Kernel Library and NVIDIA cuBLAS/ cuSparse, it reduces the development cost. In this paper, showing some examples with the non-identical conver-gences and computed solutions on different platforms, we demonstrate the applicability and the effectiveness of the proposed approach as well as its performance on both CPUs and GPUs. Besides, we compare against an existing accurate and reproducible CG implementation based on the Exact BLAS (ExBLAS) on CPUs.

Abstract: Bianchi, E. et al., The study of hot corinos in solar-like protostars has been so far mostly limited to the Class 0 phase, hampering our understanding of their origin and evolution. In addition, recent evidence suggests that planet formation starts already during Class I phase, which therefore represents a crucial step in the future planetary system chemical composition. Hence, the study of hot corinos in Class I protostars has become of paramount importance. Here, we report the discovery of a hot corino towards the prototypical Class I protostar L1551 IRS5, obtained within the ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) Large Program FAUST (Fifty AU STudy of the chemistry in the disc/envelope system of solar-like protostars).We detected several lines from methanol and its isotopologues (13CH3OH and CH2DOH), methyl formate, and ethanol. Lines are bright towards the north component of the IRS5 binary system, and a possible second hot corino may be associated with the south component. The methanol lines' non-LTE analysis constrains the gas temperature (100 K), density (1.5 × 108 cm3), and emitting size (10 au in radius). All CH3OH and 13CH3OH lines are optically thick, preventing a reliable measure of the deuteration. The methyl formate and ethanol relative abundances are compatible with those measured in Class 0 hot corinos. Abstract: Bulk discs (20 mm diameter and 4.3 mm thickness) of MgB2 added with Ge2C6H10O7 were obtained by Spark Plasma Sintering. Six samples with composition MgB2(Ge2C6H10O7)0.0014 and one undoped sample were fabricated under similar conditions and were magnetically characterized in order to determine the scattering of properties and reproducibility. The main source of the scattering of the properties is the decomposition of the additive due to elimination of the organic part in gas form, which occurs stepwise with intensive vacuum drops at around ~ 560 and ~ 740 °C. A third drop, which is sometimes not well resolved being part of the second peak at 740 °C, occurs at ~ 820 °C. The critical temperature at the midpoint of the transition, Tc, shows only a relatively small variation between 37.4 and 38 K, and the irreversibility field at a low temperature of 5 K takes values between 8 and 10 T. The pinning force and pinning force related parameters do not correlate with the carbon substituting for boron in MgB2 and suggest a synergetic influence of the microstructural details and carbon. Overall, despite the superconducting properties scattering, the samples are of high quality. Stacked into a column of six samples, they can trap at the center and on the surface of the column a magnetic field of 6.78 and 5.19 T at 12 K, 5.20 and 3.98 T at 20 K and 2.39, and 1.96 T at 30 K. These promising values, combined with facile fabrication of the samples with relatively high quality and reproducibility, show the feasibility of their use in building complex and large compound arrangements for bulk magnets and other applications.

Abstract: MgB2 bulk superconductors are expected to be utilized as rare-earth-free and lightweight trapped field magnets. However, the flux jumps frequently happen during the magnetizing processes, and heavily degrade the field-trapping performances. We have investigated the effect of additives to the MgB2 bulk samples prepared by spark plasma sintering process, and observed various flux jumps during the pulsed field magnetizing processes, which were carried out at 14 K which was obtained by the 2-stage GM cryocooler. The authors classified the flux motions as three categories as “no flux flow”, “fast flux flow”, and “flux jump” regions, and investigated the conditions where the flux jumps happen. We observed some drastic flux jumps in the pristine and clarified the effect of graphene addition to the flux jumps. The experimental results showed us a possible expansion of no flux jump region, and suggested us the improvement of field trapping capability.

Abstract: International audience; N-Aryl-N-methyl-2-tert-butyl-6-methylaniline derivatives exhibit a rotationally stable N-C axially chiral structure and the rotational barriers around an N-C chiral axis increased with the increase in electron-withdrawing character of para-substituent on the aryl group. X-ray crystal structural analysis and the DFT calculation suggested that the considerable change of the rotational barriers by the electron effect of para-substituents is due to the disappearance of resonance stabilization energy caused by the twisting of para-substituted phenyl group in the transition state. This structural property of the N-C axially chiral anilines was employed to reveal a new acid-decelerated molecular rotor caused by the protonation at the remote position (remote proton brake).

Critical current densities and flux pinning forces were obtained from magnetization loops measured using Quantum Design SQUID and PPMS systems with applied magnetic fields of up to ±9 T. The obtained data are compared to each other with respect of the optimal cooling temperature possible using modern cryocoolers. Furthermore, we plot the temperature dependencies of the critical current densities versus the normalized temperature t = T /Tc. This enables a direct judgement of the performance of the material in the trapped field applications.

Abstract: International audience; Bulk High Temperature Superconductors (HTS) can be magnetized and act as permanent magnet much stronger than conventional ones as NdFeB. The design of the inductor is a key point to perform the desired magnetization of the HTS bulk. In this paper, we focus on modeling a Pulsed Field Magnetization (PFM) process of an HTS bulk using a coil powered with a magnetizer. The built model is a 2D axisymmetric problem, based on the H formulation and coupled with electrical equations though the magnetic flux seen by the magnetizing coil. The calculation of this magnetic flux in the H formulation is not trivial and was validated using magnetic vector potential formulation on a coil in the air. Assuming different operating conditions, the bulk HTS is then modeled using four different properties corresponding to air, perfect diamagnetic, copper and HTS. It was shown that simulating a PFM process could lead to different value of peak current and applied magnetic field to the bulk HTS, depending on the critical current density of the bulk, for example. These variations are in the range of the air and diamagnetic cases. Therefore, the proposed method should be used in order to predict a realistic trapped magnetic field in the HTS bulk by taking into account its reaction seen by the coil during the PFM process.

Abstract: At Present, the environmental protection penetrates public awareness to decrease atmospheric emissions as important efforts for increasing living quality in air from various gaseous effects. Technically, it has forced industrial sectors to control pollutant productions while operating machineries of engineering processes to keep all contaminant materials. This condition has also forced the power system operation to modify operational strategies of thermal power plants considered pollutant productions from combustions of fossil fuels for reducing emissions. This paper demonstrates new approaches for measuring pollutant penetrations embedded in the single priority function considered an emission standard, a dynamic penalty factor, and Thunderstorm Algorithm (TA). By considering the IEEE 62-bus system model, results obtained show that the hourly computation has different performances for the 24 hours operation. It also indicates that pollutant discharges are dominated gradually by higher contributors associated with scheduled power plants. The convergence speed of TA is smooth and fast for determining the optimal solution, which are ranged in 6-20 for the cycle and 1.8-3.8 s for the time consumption. Moreover, the 24 hours operation is powered totally in 60,826.10 MW for feeding the total load of 56,820.50 MW. This operation also spends in 291,870.60 $ for the fuel procurement and 83,233.70 $ for the compensation of the pollutant production during existing 19 generating units. In total, the accumulation of pollutant discharges from 19 power plants is 68,012.20 kg.

Abstract: International audience; The FeSe compound is the simplest high-temperature superconductor (HTSc) possible, and relatively cheap, not containing any rare-earth material. Although the transition temperature, Tc, is just below 10 K, the upper critical fields are comparable with other HTSc. Preparing FeSe using solid-state sintering yields samples exhibiting strong ferromagnetic hysteresis loops (MHLs), and the superconducting contribution is only visible after subtracting MHLs from above Tc. Due to the complicated phase diagram, the samples are a mixture of several phases, the superconducting beta-FeSe, and the non-superconducting delta-FeSe and gamma-FeSe. Furthermore, antiferromagnetic Fe7Se8 and ferromagnetic alpha-Fe may be contained, depending directly on the Se loss during the sintering process. Here, we show MHLs measured up to ±7 T and determine the magnetic characteristics, together with the amount of superconductivity determined from M(T ) measurements. We also performed a thorough analysis of the microstructures in order to establish a relation between microstructure and the resulting sample properties.

Abstract: International audience; The fluorine atom is the second smallest atom; nevertheless, the ortho-fluoro group may lead to stable N-aryl atropisomers when the steric demand of the flanking substituents is large enough. 2-Alkyl-3-(2-fluorophenyl)quinazolin-4-ones and 3-(2-fluorophenyl)-4-methylthiazoline-2-thione were found to be the first N-aryl axially chiral compounds bearing an ortho-fluoro group whose enantiomers were isolated at ambient temperature. The reaction of alkyl halides with the anionic species prepared from 2-ethyl-3-(2-fluorophenyl)quinazolin-4-one presenting an N−C axial chirality provided a model reaction for quantitative evaluation of the steric discrimination (slight difference of steric factor) between hydrogen and fluorine atoms. In the case of low steric demand (allylation reaction) no diastereoselectivity was detected, while in the case of high steric demand (isopropylation reaction) the diastereoselectivity became significant.

Abstract: International audience; This paper proposes a novel peer-to-peer communication framework to implement geographical location oriented networks, called G-LocON. Location-based services have been gaining in popularity, as proven by ridesharing and mobile games. Although these services have to construct geolocation oriented networks based on their users' geographical locations, they completely rely on client/server models to communicate with neighboring terminals. G-LocON provides geolocation oriented device-to-device communication only with the current wireless technologies, such as LTE and Wi-Fi, cooperating with the global positioning system and peer-to-peer overlay networking. G-LocON will serve as a type of a mobile ad-hoc network in which devices located within the focusing area are capable of communicating directly. We developed a primitive Android application to implement the G-LocON framework. Evaluation of the solution's performance has verified the usefulness of the proposed system that offers an admissive transmission delay. Moreover, to confirm the application-related potential of the G-LocON framework, we also show a practical map software in which all neighboring mobile devices present in the focusing area are displayed.

Abstract: International audience; Named Data Networking (NDN) has emerged as a future networking architecture having thepotential to replace the Internet. In order to do so, NDN needs to cope with inherent problems of the Internetsuch as attacks that cause information leakage from an enterprise. Since NDN has not yet been deployed ona large scale, it is currently unknown how such attacks can occur, let alone what countermeasures can betaken against them. In this study, we first show that information leakage in NDN, can be caused by malwareinside an enterprise, which uses steganography to produce malicious Interest names encoding confidentialinformation. We investigate such attacks by utilizing a content name dataset based on uniform resourcelocators (URLs) collected by a web crawler. Our main contribution is a name filter based on anomalydetection that takes the dataset as input and classifies a name in the Interest as legitimate or not. Ourevaluation shows that malware can exploit the path part in the URL-based NDN name to create maliciousnames, thus, information leakage in NDN cannot be prevented completely. However, we illustrate for thefirst time that our filter can dramatically choke the leakage throughput causing the malware to be 137 timesless efficient at leaking information. This finding opens up an interesting avenue of research that could resultin a safer future networking architecture.

Abstract: International audience; Various MgB2 thin films and single crystals were found in the literature to exhibit a sharp, narrow peak at low fields in the volume pinning force, Fp(H)-diagrams. The origin of this peak is associated with a steep drop of the current density when applying external magnetic fields and is ascribed to sample purity. We show here that bulk MgB2 prepared by spark-plasma sintering also shows the sharp, narrow peak in Fp. The peak is also seen in the volume pinning force scaling, Fp/Fp,max vs h = H/H irr. Furthermore, polycrystalline bulk MgB2 samples prepared close to the optimum reaction temperature reveal this peak effect as well, but other samples of the series show a regular scaling behavior. The combination of magnetization data with data from electric transport measurements on the same samples demonstrates the origin of this peak effect. On increasing preparation temperature, the pinning force scaling changes from grain boundary pinning to point pinning and the grain connectivity gets worse. Hence, the sharp, low-field peak in Fp vanishes. Therefore, the occurrence of the peak effect in Fp gives important information on the grain coupling in the MgB2 samples.

Abstract: International audience; The performances of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) are strongly related to the catalytic/conductive properties of cathode materials, which are temperature dependent. The optimal temperature in operating conditions implies a tradeoff between high efficiency at high temperatures and improved lifetime at Intermediate Temperatures (IT). Among the candidates, Pr2NiO4 presents attractive functional properties but is susceptible to decompose into Pr4Ni3O10 under IT-SOFC conditions. In this contribution, a deposition process to obtain Pr4Ni3O10 phase were directly targeted as a potential alternative to the integration of Pr2NiO4 in IT-SOFC. Pr4Ni3O10 thin films have been deposited on Y-stabilized Zirconia substrates through a two-step process: (i) room temperature co-sputtering of metallic Ni and Pr targets, (ii) ex-situ annealing under O2 flux. The composition of thin films were adjusted by changing the power applied to each target and confirmed by Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy. X-Ray Diffraction analyses as a function of temperature were made to identify the temperature window to stabilize the desired phase. The structural and morphological features of polycrystalline Pr4Ni3O10 thin films were analyzed by Transmission Electron Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. Electrical resistivity of ~6.5.10−3 Ω cm and Seebeck coefficient of ~ – 23 μV K−1 at 150 °C highlight the synthesis of Pr4Ni3O10 continuous coatings representing a promising candidate for cathodes in IT-SOFC.

Abstract: International audience; Most peer-to-peer (P2P) systems build their own overlay networks for implementing peer selection strategies without taking into account the locality on the underlay network. As a result, a large quantity of traffic crossing internet service providers (ISPs) or autonomous systems (ASes) is generated on the Internet. Controlling the P2P traffic is therefore becoming a big challenge for the ISPs. To control the cost of the cross-ISP/AS traffic, ISPs often throttle and/or even block P2P applications in their networks. In this paper, we propose a router-aided approach for localizing the P2P traffic hierarchically; it features the insertion of additional delay into each P2P packet based on geographical location of its destination. Compared to the existing approaches that solve the problem on the application layer, our proposed method does not require dedicated servers, cooperation between ISPs and P2P users, or modification of existing P2P application software. Therefore, the proposal can be easily utilized by all types of P2P applications. Experiments on P2P streaming applications indicate that our hierarchical traffic localization method not only reduces significantly the inter-domain traffic but also maintains a good performance of P2P applications.

Abstract: 本稿では、大学生の若年層に、現在の生活環境、メディア利用状況、そして社会参加の状況を聞いた「社会参加力とICT利用に関する調査」の単純集計の結果を報告しつつ、試験的な分析をおこなった。その結果、2つの主要な成果を得た。まず、若年層の生活環境やメディア利用の現状について、また社会参加の状況について詳しく知ることができた。さらに、予備調査の段階であるにもかかわらず、個人の社会環境やメディア利用状況が社会参加に影響を与えている、いくつかの可能性を知ることができた。その結果、先行研究が十分ではない中、社会参加の実態がより深刻に問われている、福祉・医療分野での本格的な調査のために重要な示唆を得ることができた。, This paper is of interest as an investigation on the living conditions, skills of media, and social activities of young people. Little attention has been given to the relations among these factors concerning the social participation. We performed a pilot survey of "Social participation and Media literacy" to gather data from a number of university students, and analyzed it in detail. As a result of this analysis and cross tabulations, we have seen the conditions of young person's daily life and various situations of using media. In addition, we have understood that living conditions and skills the of media have some complex connections with social activities. To sum up, the relations of these factors for social participation remain as a matter to be discussed further. The results of this pilot survey would clarify the key to an understanding for people with disabilities who have great difficulties in social participation.

Abstract: Oral; International audience; The grain orientation, the texture and the grain boundary misorientations are important parameters for the understanding of the magnetic properties of the bulk MgB2 samples intended for super-magnet applications. Such data can be provided by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analysis. However, as the grain size of the MgB2 bulks is preferably in the 100-200 nm range, the common EBSD technique working in reflection operates only properly on highly dense samples. In order to achieve a reasonably good Kikuchi pattern quality on all samples, we apply here the newly developed transmission EBSD (t-EBSD) technique to several bulk MgB2 samples. This method requires the preparation of TEM slices by means of focused ion-beam milling, which are then analyzed within the SEM, operating with a specific sample holder. We present several EBSD mappings of samples prepared with different techniques and at various reaction temperatures.

Abstract: [IF=1.844]; International audience; This study presents a nonmonotonically decreasing relaxation approach of Lyapunov functions to guaranteed cost control for discrete Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy systems. First, the authors summarise the previous results on a relaxation of nonmonotonically decreasing of Lyapunov functions, and newly derive one lemma based on the previous results. Based on the newly derived lemma, they propose guaranteed cost control design for discrete T–S fuzzy systems. The design conditions can be represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities and provide more relaxed results than the existing approach. A design example is included to demonstrate the relaxation effectiveness of the proposed approach in guaranteed cost control.

Abstract: International audience; A series of disk-shaped, bulk MgB2 superconductors (sample diameter up to 40 mm, reaction temperatures ranging between 750 °C and 950 °C) was prepared in order to improve the performance for superconducting supermagnets. These samples were characterized by magnetic and electric measurements in fields up to 7 T and at various temperatures 10 K < T < 35 K. The irreversibility lines, the current densities, the resistance and the achievable trapped fields were determined. To analyze the data, a scaling of the flux pinning forces, Fp = jc × B, was performed. The different scaling behavior of the samples prepared at low and high reaction temperatures is discussed considering the achieved microstructures.

Abstract: One of the major purpose of recent cosmic-ray studies is to know the origin, acceleration mechanism and propagation properties inside the Galaxy. Along this line many efforts have been spent to observe a precise spectrum of the electron component of cosmic-rays. The main difficulty to study high-energy electrons is the detection of these electrons. The flux is much lower than the abundant proton component, and we need an observation of long duration and a detector with a high rejection power against the background protons. We propose to carry a newly developed scintillating-fiber detector on the Polar Patrol Balloon (PPB) and to expose it for 30 days. The goal of this observation is to determine a definite electron energy-spectrum ranging from 10 GeV to TeV region based on a high statistical accuracy with a long exposure by the PPB. In the result, we can expect to obtain direct evidence for the origin of high-energy electrons and a precise knowledge of their propagation in the Galaxy including solar modulation effects on the electron flux.

Several samples were fabricated using a solid state reaction in pure Ar atmosphere from 750 to 950 °C in order to determine the optimum processing parameters to obtain the highestcritical current density as well as large trapped field values. The magnetic characterization measurements were performed using SQUID magnetometry (Quantum Design MPMS) and the magneto-resistance and I/V-characteristics were recorded using an Oxford Instruments 8 T Teslatron system.

Abstract: Lorenz, M. et al., Oxide electronic materials provide a plethora of possible applications and offer ample opportunity for scientists to probe into some of the exciting and intriguing phenomena exhibited by oxide systems and oxide interfaces. In addition to the already diverse spectrum of properties, the nanoscale form of oxides provides a new dimension of hitherto unknown phenomena due to the increased surface-to-volume ratio. Oxide electronic materials are becoming increasingly important in a wide range of applications including transparent electronics, optoelectronics, magnetoelectronics, photonics, spintronics, thermoelectrics, piezoelectrics, power harvesting, hydrogen storage and environmental waste management. Synthesis and fabrication of these materials, as well as processing into particular device structures to suit a specific application is still a challenge. Further, characterization of these materials to understand the tunability of their properties and the novel properties that evolve due to their nanostructured nature is another facet of the challenge. The research related to the oxide electronic field is at an impressionable stage, and this has motivated us to contribute with a roadmap on ‘oxide electronic materials and oxide interfaces’. This roadmap envisages the potential applications of oxide materials in cutting edge technologies and focuses on the necessary advances required to implement these materials, including both conventional and novel techniques for the synthesis, characterization, processing and fabrication of nanostructured oxides and oxide-based devices. The contents of this roadmap will highlight the functional and correlated properties of oxides in bulk, nano, thin film, multilayer and heterostructure forms, as well as the theoretical considerations behind both present and future applications in many technologically important areas as pointed out by Venkatesan. The contributions in this roadmap span several thematic groups which are represented by the following authors: novel field effect transistors and bipolar devices by Fortunato, Grundmann, Boschker, Rao, and Rogers; energy conversion and saving by Zaban, Weidenkaff, and Murakami; new opportunities of photonics by Fompeyrine, and Zuniga-Perez; multiferroic materials including novel phenomena by Ramesh, Spaldin, Mertig, Lorenz, Srinivasan, and Prellier; and concepts for topological oxide electronics by Kawasaki, Pentcheva, and Gegenwart. Finally, Miletto Granozio presents the European action ‘towards oxide-based electronics’ which develops an oxide electronics roadmap with emphasis on future nonvolatile memories and the required technologies. In summary, we do hope that this oxide roadmap appears as an interesting up-to-date snapshot on one of the most exciting and active areas of solid state physics, materials science, and chemistry, which even after many years of very successful development shows in short intervals novel insights and achievements., This work has been partially supported by the TO-BE COST action MP1308. Abstract: International audience; The current flow and the flux pinning properties on struts of superconducting YBa2Cu3Ox (YBCO) foams are analyzed in detail in the temperature range 60 K < T < Tc. For this purpose, magnetization loops were measured taken from various positions of a 5 × 2 × 2 cm3 large foam sample prepared at RWTH Aachen. From these data, the critical current densities, jc, and the flux pinning forces, Fp = jc × B, were calculated and pinning force scaling diagrams Fp/Fp,max vs. h = Ha/Hirr were established. The scaling in the temperature range 60 K < T < 90 K was found to be well developed for all samples with peak positions, h0, above 0.4, which is an indication of δTc-pinning. From microstructure analysis of the foam struts employing the electron backscatter diffraction technique (EBSD) [1] it is known that the struts are fully converted into the 123-phase with embedded 211 particles being relatively small. These small 211 particles and their specific distribution within the samples play an important role to explain the observations. The variation of Fp depending on the position of the struts in the original sample directly reveals the changes of the texture as found employing EBSD.[1] M.R. Koblischka, A. Koblischka-Veneva, E. S. 45. Functional optical coherence tomography in the study of plant-sound interactions.

Abstract: Objective: We aim to test the feasibility of applying Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a non-destructive, non-contact, real-time imaging technique to investigate the internal changes within leaves under sound stimulation., Results: Application of a spectral-domain OCT operating at 836.1 nm revealed that depth-resolved images obtained under no sound and under the application of sound stimuli of 100 Hz and 10 kHz sound at 100dB sound pressure to arugula (Eruca sativa) for a minute revealed a clear frequency dependence. The ratio of the OCT structural x-z images of a month-old arugula seedlings was obtained before and after the application of sound. From the ratio images, it was found that the effects under low and high-frequency sounds differed. The low-frequency sound of 100 Hz showed increased activity within the leaf compared to a high frequency of 10 kHz. Our results demonstrate that OCT can potentially investigate the effects of sound in plants speedily and thus has implications in agriculture applications., Competing Interests: Declarations. 46. Synthesis of Atropisomeric Quinazolin-4-one Derivatives Based on Remote H/D and 12 C/ 13 C Discrimination.

Abstract: Both enantiomers of 2-ethylquinazolin-4-ones bearing ortho -CH 3 O/CD 3 O and CH 3 O/ 13 CH 3 O phenyl groups at the N3 position were prepared. These are isotopic atropisomeric compounds based on a remote and conformationally flexible H/D and 12 C/ 13 C discrimination, and it was found that a CHCl 3 solution of ortho -CH 3 O/CD 3 O derivative shows a slight specific optical rotation. Furthermore, diastereomeric quinazolinone derivatives bearing a chiral carbon were prepared, and their stereochemical purities and rotational stability as well as the isotopic atropisomerism were verified by 1 H NMR and chiral high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyses.

Abstract: Purpose: Wound patches are essential for wound healing, yet developing patches with enhanced mechanical and biological properties remains challenging. This study aimed to enhance the mechanical and biological properties of polyurethane (PU) by incorporating magnesium chloride (MgCl 2 ) into the patch., Methodology: The composite patch was fabricated using the electrospinning technique, producing nanofibers from a mixture of PU and MgCl 2 solutions. The electrospun PU/MgCl 2 was then evaluated for various physico-chemical characteristics and biological properties to determine its suitability for wound healing applications., Results: Tensile strength testing showed that the mechanical properties of the composite patch (10.98 ± 0.18) were significantly improved compared to pristine PU (6.66 ± 0.44). Field scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) revealed that the electrospun nanofiber patch had a smooth, randomly oriented non-woven structure (PU - 830 ± 145 nm and PU/MgCl 2 - 508 ± 151 nm). Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed magnesium chloride's presence in the polyurethane matrix via strong hydrogen bond formation. Blood compatibility studies using coagulation assays, including activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), and hemolysis assays, demonstrated improved blood compatibility of the composite patch (APTT - 174 ± 0.5 s, PT - 91 ± 0.8s, and Hemolytic percentage - 1.78%) compared to pristine PU (APTT - 152 ± 1.2s, PT - 73 ± 1.7s, and Hemolytic percentage - 2.55%). Antimicrobial testing showed an enhanced zone of inhibition (Staphylococcus aureus - 21.5 ± 0.5 mm and Escherichia coli - 27.5 ± 2.5 mm) compared to the control, while cell viability assays confirmed the non-cytotoxic nature of the developed patches on fibroblast cells., Conclusion: The study concludes that adding MgCl 2 to PU significantly improves the mechanical, biological, and biocompatibility properties of the patch. 48. Interactive segmentation with curve-based template deformation for spatiotemporal computed tomography of swallowing motion.

Abstract: Repeating X-ray computed tomography (CT) measurements over a short period of time allows for obtaining a spatiotemporal four-dimensional (4D) volume image. This study presents an interactive method for segmenting a 4DCT image by fitting a template model to a target organ. The template consists of a three-dimensional (3D) mesh model and free-form-deformation (FFD) cage enclosing the mesh. The user deforms the template by placing multiple curve constraints that specify the boundary shape of the template in 3D space. We also present curve constraints shared over all time frames and interpolated along the time axis to facilitate efficient curve specification. Our method formulates the template deformation using the FFD cage modification, allowing the user to switch between our curve-based method and traditional FFD at any time. To illustrate the feasibility of our method, we show segmentation results in which we could accurately segment three organs from a 4DCT image capturing a swallowing motion. To evaluate the usability of our method, we conducted a user study comparing our curve-based method with the cage-based FFD. 49. Structural Chemistry of C-N Axially Chiral Compounds.

Abstract: In the last several years, atropisomers owing to the rotational restriction around a C-N single bond (C-N axially chiral compounds) have attracted significant attention in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. In particular, the highly enantioselective synthesis of various C-N axially chiral compounds and their application to asymmetric reactions have been reported by many groups. On the other hand, studies on the structural chemistry of C-N axially chiral compounds have attracted scant attention in comparison with synthetic studies. For over 25 years, our group has explored asymmetric synthesis of C-N axially chiral compounds and their synthetic application. In the course of these synthetic studies, we found several notable structural properties in relation to the C-N bond rotation and an association of enantiomers (the relationship between the rotational stability and the structure or electronic effect, the chirality-dependent halogen bond, and the self-disproportionation of enantiomers). Furthermore, on the basis of these structural properties, the development of acid-mediated molecular rotors and the synthesis of isotopic atropisomers possessing high stereochemical purity and rotational stability were achieved. Through this Perspective, I wish to make the chemistry community aware that C-N axially chiral compounds are attractive molecules from the viewpoints of both synthetic organic chemistry and structural chemistry.

50. Rotational Behavior about the N3-Pyridyl Bond in 3-(Pyridin-2-yl)quinazolin-4-one and 4-Thione Derivatives.

Abstract: The rotational barriers about the N3-(2-pyridyl) bond in 2- iso -propyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl)quinazolin-4-one and the thione analogue were evaluated though VT-NMR measurement of a diastereotopic iso -propyl group followed by a line-shape simulation. In 3-(pyridin-2-yl)quinazoline-4-thione bearing a chiral center as the C2 substituent, the formation of dynamic diastereomers was detected by NMR. The rotational pathway about the N3-(2-pyridyl) bond and the stereochemistries of dynamic diastereomers were revealed through a computational study.
