Permasalahan pencemaran air Sungai Cilemahabang oleh berbagai kegiatan di sepanjang kanan dan kiri sungai menunjukkan bahwa kualitas Sungai Cilemahabang telah mengalami penurunan kualitas air hingga tidak memenuhi baku mutu yang telah ditetapkan peruntukannya sebagai air baku air minum (Golongan I) berdasarkan PP No.22 Tahun 2021. Tujuan dari analisis air Sungai Cilemahabang ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat beban pencemar Sungai Cilemahabang, mengetahui kapasitas biodegradasi Sungai Cilemahabang, dan memperoleh gambaran untuk penyusunan rekomendasi upaya pengendalian pencemaran air Sungai Cilemahabang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Dari hasil analisis data di dapat beban pencemar total untuk parameter BOD tertinggi pada titik 2 dan 3 yaitu 9,1 mg/L, Nilai COD tertinggi pada titik 3 yaitu 34,5 mg/L, dan Nitrat tertinggi pada titik 3 yaitu 8,5 Mg/L. Status baku mutu kualitas air Sungai Cilemahabang berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah RI No.22 Tahun 2021 adalah tidak dapat dimanfaatkan sesuai dengan peruntukan air kelas I. Kapasitas Biodegradasi Sungai Cilemahabang berada pada zona Non-Biodegradable dengan perbandingan rasio BOD/COD menunjukkan nilai kurang dari 0,3.

High population density in urban areas is a challenge in preventing the spread of Covid 19. High population density encourages the occurrence of crowds in public facilities, which has a great potential for the spread of the Covid 19 virus. People's awareness to live clean and healthy is an individual's role in realizing personal health, family and the environment. One of the healthy behaviors is the habit of washing hands with soap, which is an effort to prevent the spread of Covid 19. However, everyone's awareness is different, influenced by their socio-economic background. Education on clean and healthy living needs to be carried out continuously, therefore, ITATS Environmental Engineering Department, conducts community service activities in the form of education on clean and healthy living in Tanah Kali Kedinding Village, Kenjeran, Surabaya. Activities of this community service include assisstantship and facilities donation. The result shows that Covid 19 spreading was lowering after the event. The community awareness on cleaner and healthier living is improved.

Used lubricating oil belong hazardous waste based on the Government Regulation Number 101 in 2014 about Hazardous Waste Management. Used lubricating oil contain hydrocarbon and heavy metals such as Fe and Pb. One of method to immobilize used lubricating oil is stabilization/solidification (S/S). S/S method always uses Portland cement to immobilize the heavy metals, but Portland cement can not immobilize the hydrocarbon. In this research, S/S method used Portland cement and bentonite are binding the heavy metals and hydrocarbon in the used lubricating oil. The composition used was cement bentonite 25:75, cement bentonite 75:25, cement 100%, and bentonite 100%. Used lubricating oil was added in 5%, 10%, and 15% weights. The S/S products were examined by measuring the TCLP of the Fe and Pb. The TCLP test was compared with the Fe and Pb concentration in the used lubricating oil. The results showed that the TCLP test of the Fe on the S/S product containing 5%, 10%, 15% used lubricating oil with cement 100% was 371.14 mg/L, 403.66 mg/L, and 417.89 mg/L respectively. Meanwhile, the Fe concentration in the used lubricating oil was 47.78 mg/L. The adding of bentonite to the S/S product decreased the Fe concentration that was leached. The TCLP test of the Fe in the S/S products that contained 5%, 10%, and 15% used lubricating oil with bentonite 100% were 15.24 mg/L, 0.085 mg/L, and 0.428 mg/L respectively. The S/S method using Portland cement and bentonite decreased the Pb concentration leached into the environment.

Pengolahan limbah cair batik menggunakan lumpur aktif secara batch terdiri dari tahapan persiapan, pembibitan (seeding), aklimatisasi dan running batch. Penelitian skala laboratorium, menggunakan reaktor lumpur aktif berbahan plastik dengan volume 27 liter dan volume efektif 20 liter. Selama 168 jam penelitian, parameter yang diukur meliputi suhu, pH, MLSS, MLVSS, BOD5 dan COD. Karakteristik awal limbah cair batik Klampar, melebihi baku mutu air limbah tekstil. Pengolahan limbah cair batik Klampar menggunakan lumpur aktif batch selama 168 jam, mampu menurunkan BOD5 sebesar 75,2% dan COD sebesar 75,4%, diikuti penurunan TSS sebesar 61,6%.
