Recent advances in the production and use of cellulose nanoparticles are detailed in this review. Global demand for sustainability is on the rise, and fossil fuel use is also on the rise. Consequently, the oil and gas industry must maintain its focus on R&D of new, environmentally friendly technologies and materials. Oil and gas companies are interested in cellulose nanoparticles (CNMs) for several reasons, including their renewable potential, high specific surface area, adjustable surface chemistry, and good mechanical, barrier, thermal, and rheological characteristics. Oil and gas production will become more sustainable and environmentally friendly as a result of all this. There are many manufacturing procedures that may be used to manufacture materials with different structures and physicochemical qualities. Biomedicine, sensing, wastewater treatment, paper and cardboard manufacture, and the packaging sector are just a few of the many fields that benefit from cellulose nanomaterials (CNMs), especially cellulose nanofibers and cellulose nanocrystals. These materials have several desirable characteristics, such as being renewable, having a large surface area, being very stiff and strong under tension, and being very flexible on the surface because of hydroxyl groups. This has led to the scale production of these materials; for example, several companies currently make cellulose nanoparticles in quantities of several tons per day. The remarkable properties of nano-cellulose biopolymers, which may be produced by a wide range of microbes and plant materials, including rice husks, tea leaves, and other agricultural byproducts, have recently attracted more attention due to the development of nanotechnology. Scientists use a range of methods, including chemical, mechanical, and enzymatic processes, to synthesize cellulose nanoparticles from food scraps. Nanomaterials' primary characteristics are defined by their surface functionalization, extraction source, and extraction processes. In this article, we will examine their present production rates and their applications in several areas, including as healthcare, sustainable construction materials, and energy storage and generation. Our focus will be on recent developments and upcoming trends in the production and use of cellulose nanoparticles. The purpose of this article is to provide a synopsis of what is known about cellulose and its technical biological uses, including its ability to heal wounds, transport drugs, construct tissues, and regenerate bones. The most recent findings from both basic and applied research are contained in a comprehensive bibliography. Materials derived from cellulose may be modified to possess the specific physical, mechanical, and chemical characteristics needed for use in the biomedical field. It doesn't take much work to alter cellulose's chemical structure and conjugate it with other materials, including nanoparticles. Because of this, the applications are straightforward to form and process, inexpensive, biodegradable, and biocompatible.

The incidence of chronic diseases in contemporary society has been steadily rising with the ageing population. They place a significant strain on both people and the healthcare system, and they are the leading cause of death. As a result, novel detection methods that allow for early identification of chronic diseases to manage therapy are in high demand. Modern sensing tools have emerged in the form of biosensors, which can detect biomarkers and transform them into quantifiable signals. The fields of environmental science, agriculture, drug discovery, biotechnology, food safety, and medical diagnostics might all benefit from the data they provide. The development of more precise, sensitive, and selective diagnostic tools is, nevertheless, of the utmost importance, as is the ability to identify biomarkers as disease indicators at very low concentrations. Nano biosensors are a new generation of analytical instruments that have evolved from the integration of nanomaterials with biosensors. One promising option for continuous, real-time health monitoring is nanostructured biosensors, which provide exceptional sensitivity, selectivity, and reproducibility. Nano biosensors are categorized in this extensive study according to their size, production process, and transduction mechanism. Also, talk about the latest developments and uses for nano biosensors, and cover some important elements of them, focusing on their electrochemistry and optical characteristics. Further research is needed to fully understand nano biosensors and their potential as a tool for personalized treatment, since there are still many unknowns about their biocompatibility, toxicity, stability, and integration into the human body.

Microorganisms (MOs) are prominent in ecological functioning and balance. The rhizosphere is considered one of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth and serves as a breeding spot for many MOs. Rhizosphere microbial diversity changes according to plant species, genotype, and the nature of the soil. The current study reports the possible use of bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere of Azadirachta indica for synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The physicochemical characterization and antibacterial activity of these green synthesized AgNPs are also reported. The gene (16S rRNA) sequence of bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere showed a maximum similarity of 99.25% with Bacillus subtilis. After incubation, the colorless reaction mixture transformed to brown, which indicates the formation of AgNPs, and UV-vis spectral analysis also confirmed the biosynthesis of AgNPs. Compared to lower temperatures, the efficiency of AgNP synthesis was high at the higher temperature. The scanning electron microscope image demonstrated spherical-shaped AgNPs with sizes ranging from 18 to 21 nm. Energy-dispersive X-ray analysis established the elemental analysis of synthesized AgNPs. The synthesized AgNPs showed strong bactericidal properties against pathogenic bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

It is difficult to reuse wastes from polymers due to the mismatch between the amount of contaminants and the secondary polymers and the quality of the feed. This type of operation is much more expensive and cost-effective than the production of polymer raw materials from the latest materials. However, the reuse of recyclable polymers is beneficial if used extensively in the production of various concrete products and wood-polymer boards. This is done only if cleaning and sorting are not particularly important for the production of polymer products. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a widely used polymer in various industries due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. Besides, the increasing use of PET products has led to a global crisis in waste management, as improper disposal of products has caused significant environmental damage. PET is a major source of accumulated waste in landfills, and to address this issue, recycling methods have evolved. In this regard, the present review examines various techniques involved in the recycling of PET. Conventional recycling methods and the influence of diverse depolymerization reaction variables were discussed, and the upsides and downsides of each technique were considered. The review summarizes major advances in recycling technologies for plastic waste, focusing on the bio-recycling of PET, aiming for sustainable, economical solutions in the circular economy.

The 1920 paper by Hermann Staudinger, which introduced the groundbreaking theory of the existence of long-chain molecules made up of many covalently linked monomeric units, was remembered in 2020 for the 100th anniversary of its publication. This article and the follow-up works of Staudinger on the subject serve as the basis for the study of macromolecular chemistry and polymer science. Although Staudinger saw the great potential of macromolecules, he most likely did not predict the repercussions of their widespread use. We are confronting an environmental and public health crisis with 6.3 billion metric tons of plastic garbage contaminating our land, water, and air. Synthetic polymer chemists can contribute to a more sustainable future, but are we on the right track? In this regard, this review provides insights into the trends, or perspectives, on the current, past, and future developments in macromolecular chemistry to promote an increased emphasis on “sustainable polymers”.

Due to the rising worldwide demand for green chemicals, the bio-based polymer market is anticipated to expand substantially in the future. The synthesis of functional polymers has been a burgeoning area of research for decades. The primary driving force behind the development of bio-based polymers has been their compostability and biodegradability, which are critical given the public concern about waste. Significant advancements in the method for refining biomass raw materials towards the creation of bio-based construction materials and products are driving this rise. Bio-based polymers with this chemical structure are more flexible and adaptive, which allows them to attain their intended characteristics and functionalities. In commercial applications and healthcare and biotechnology, where completely manufactured, naturally occurring biomolecules are utilized and such polymers have the greatest impact. At the same time, limitations in polymer architectural control, biostability, and structural dynamics hinder the creation of biocompatible and functionally varied polymers. From this standpoint, the importance of functional biosynthetic polymers in the future years is highlighted, as well as new methods for addressing the aforementioned challenges. The article comprehensively highlighted the current strategies, market dynamics, and research trends of emerging Bio-Based Polymers. The human nature of curiosity, wonder, and ingenuity date back to the age of humankind. In parallel with our history of civilization, interest in scientific approaches to unravel mechanisms underlying natural phenomena has been developing. Recent years have witnessed unprecedented growth in research in the area of pharmaceuticals and medicine. The optimism that nanotechnology (NT) applied to medicine and drugs is taking serious steps to bring about significant advances in diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease—a shift from fantasy to reality. The growing interest in the future medical applications of NT leads to the emergence of a new field for nanomaterials (NMs) and biomedicine. In recent years, NMs have emerged as essential game players in modern medicine, with clinical applications ranging from contrast agents in imaging to carriers for drug and gene delivery into tumors. Indeed, there are instances where nanoparticles (NPs) enable analyses and therapies that cannot be performed otherwise. However, NPs also bring unique environmental and societal challenges, particularly concerning toxicity. Thus, clinical applications of NPs should be revisited, and a deep understanding of the effects of NPs from the pathophysiologic basis of a disease may bring more sophisticated diagnostic opportunities and yield more effective therapies and preventive features. Correspondingly, this review highlights the significant contributions of NPs to modern medicine and drug delivery systems. This study also attempted to glimpse the future impact of NT in medicine and pharmaceuticals.
