Aim: The aim of the present study is to determine the lip prints among undergraduate dental students. Introduction: Human identification is a universal process based on scientific principles mainly involving fingerprinting. Uniqueness is a strong point used in the analysis of fingerprints to convince the court of law. Even the lip prints are unique for an individual and can be used for identification purposes. Thus lip prints can be used to verify the presence or absence of a person at the scene of crime. The aim of this study is to analyse lip prints among undergraduate dental students. Materials and Methods: The study group consisted of 50 females. The materials used were lipstick, a brush for applying the lipstick, and magnifying lens. Lipstick was applied evenly on the vermilion border of the lips and the pattern was studied. Results: This study of lip print pattern of 50 females revealed the following observation: No two lip prints matched each other establishing the uniqueness of lip prints and type 2(branched Y shaped grooves) is most commonly seen. Conclusion: This study showed that lip prints are unique for an individual and hold potential promise as a supplementary tool in forensic odontology.

Background: Teeth whitening or dental bleaching is a procedure that is most often asked by patients because it is a very effective way to improve the appearance and aesthetics of a smile when compared with other invasive restorative treatments. Strawberry being a natural ingredient helps in the teeth whitening process. Aim: The aim of the study is to find the effect of strawberry extract on tooth discoloration and morphology Materials and Methods: Non- carious tooth samples were used for the experiment. Mandibular premolars were used as the samples, in which one tooth was immersed in strawberry extract and the other was in distilling water and kept for three days. The height and size of the tooth were measured to determine morphological changes before and after experiments. The results were compared between the dimensions of both the teeth for 72 hours and plotted into a bar graph. Results: The results indicated that there were no significant morphological changes between the tooth immersed in strawberry extract and distilled water. Conclusion: Fruits and leaves of strawberry plants are used to whiten teeth. Chewing strawberries every day can help to nourish the mouth, such as whitening of teeth and making breath more fresher. All these processes take place only if teeth are exposed to strawberry for a long period. Our study established the teeth whitening and anti-decay properties of strawberry extract in the teeth. Further research is required to observe the effect of strawberry extract on teeth in detail.

Introduction: Glyphosate, an N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine is the active ingredient in the pervasive herbicide, Monsanto Roundup. It is widely used herbicide worldwide to eliminate unwanted plants both on agricultural and non agricultural landscapes. Glyphosate is used in different formulations and applied in diverse forms including isopropylamine salt, potassium salt, ammonium salt, diammonium salt and dimethyl ammonium salt. Glyphosate can display endocrine –disrupting activity, promote carcinogenicity in mouse skin and affect human erythrocyte. In humans the effects of glyphosate on metabolic health research has not been done to a larger extent. Aim: To analyse the impact of glyphosate on the changes in the mRNA expression of neurotransmitters in experimental rats. Materials and Methods: Male albino rats were classified into three groups. Group I: Normal rats; Group II: glyphosate induced rats with 50 mg/ kg of glyphosate for 16 weeks; Group III:. The glyphosate induced rats with 100 mg/ kg of glyphosate for 16 weeks;Group IV:. Introduction: Teeth are the most durable structure present in our human body because of the presence of enamel which persist and resist destruction more than any other bony structure. Hard nature with high amount of resistance of tissues present in the tooth prevents any destruction which increases the lifespan of the tooth. Aim: The main aim of this study is to observe the changes in tooth morphology when immersed in dilute and concentrated hydrochloric acid. Materials and Methods: Non-caries teeth extracted due to periodontal reasons were used from the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The tooth added to alternate dilute and concentrated hydrochloric acid was observed till 6th day and the changes were noted along with the photographs as observations. Results: The tooth left in concentrated HCl showed rapid dissolution and was completely dissolved within 24 hours. Tooth left in dilute HCl dissolved gradually and showed less dissolution when compared to concentrated HCl. Conclusion: Most durable teeth also undergo erosion and dissolution when placed in dilute HCl and concentrated HCl. Teeth act as a major clue in the field of forensic odontology.

Introduction: Malus domestica is a well known plant commonly known as apple belonging to the family Rosaceae. The fruit is rich in flavonoids and many other phytochemicals. The fruit is also reported to have many therapeutic properties. Aim: The aim of this study is to analyse phytochemical constituents and to evaluate antihyperlipidemic and xanthine oxidase inhibitory activities of Malus domestica aqueous extract. Materials and Methods: The phytochemical screening, and assessment of in vitro anti cholesterol and xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity were done in aqueous extract of Malus domestica using standard procedures. Results and Discussion: Many phytochemical elements, such as alkaloids, proteins, amino acids, terpenoids, flavonoids, carbohydrates, saponins, and steroids, were found in Malus domesticus extract. The extract also has anticholesterol effect in vitro, according to the findings. The extract is also efficient in inhibiting the xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity in a concentration dependent manner. The results obtained in the study show that Malus domestica has significant anti cholesterol and antioxidant activities. Conclusion: The present study established the potent in vitro anti cholesterol and xanthine oxidase inhibitory potential of Malus domestica.

Methods: Sida acuta was purchased and its ethanolic extract was prepared. Protein denaturation inhibition, DPPH radical scavenging, alpha amylase and alpha glucosidase inhibitory assays were carried out in order to check in vitro antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antidiabetic activity spectrophotometrically.. Introduction: Health-related behaviors are influenced by knowledge and awareness, with oral health being no exception. It is well-known that oral diseases are influenced by social determinants. Children depend on their parents and caretakers for maintenance of their oral health so oral health knowledge of mothers could be associated with the status of their children’s oral health. Aim: The aim of this survey was to evaluate and create awareness on oral care among mothers of children less than 5 years old. Materials and Methods: An online survey was conducted among mothers of children less than five years old using a questionnaire in google forms. The Questionnaire was framed which mainly targeted awareness on dental attitude, knowledge and practice of mothers regarding their children’s oral health. The survey was done in January 2021. The results were obtained and statistically analysed through SPSS software, chi square test was done and represented as pie-chart and bar graphs. Results: Out of 100 mothers who participated in the study, 66.09% have studied up to primary/high school level and 33.91% have qualified university level. About 54.78% of the participants agreed that the importance of oral health to general health, 28.70% disagreed. The association of mothers' education and their opinion on children's age on brushing their teeth shows that the majority of primary/high school mothers agreed that children should brush their teeth older than 5 years than other participants and it was statistically significant p value=0.04(>0.05)) Conclusion: Mothers who are graduates are more aware of the importance of oral health in children, treatment of dental caries, and brushing technique than mothers who qualified with school education.

Introduction: A condition in which the body’s ability gets impaired to process blood glucose level is called diabetes, otherwise known as blood sugar. It ranked sixteenth among leading causes of death around the globe. There are estimated 72.96 million cases diagnosed with diabetes in the adult population of India. Introduction: Cayratia trifolia is a plant belonging to the family Vitaceae and genus Cayratia. Anti-inflammatory activity is the property of a substance or treatment that reduces inflammation or swelling. Antioxidants are defined as substances that delay or inhibit oxidative damage to a target molecule and its principal function is its ability to trap free radicals. The alcoholic leaf extract of Cayratia trifolia has anti-inflammatory as well as antioxidant properties against inflammations and swelling and DPPH free radicals respectively and can be evaluated using both in vitro and in vivo assays. The principal aim of the study is to employ in-vitro assays to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of Cayratia trifolia. Materials and Methods: Plant extract of Cayratia trifolia was purchased and tested for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In case of evaluating the antioxidant activity, the methanolic extract of the plant was utilised. The examination of the anti-inflammatory properties of Cayratia trifolia involves acetyl salicylic acid as a positive control and aspirin and aspirin was employed as a standard anti-inflammatory drug. Results: The anti-inflammatory activity of Cayratia trifolia extract was examined and it was observed that the plant extract showed an increased percentage of inhibition of trypsin with increasing concentration. Similarly, the antioxidant activity was compared to Vitamin C and the percentage of inhibition of DPPH free radicals increased with the increase in concentration of the extract. Conclusion: Within the limits of the study, the plant extract of Cayratia trifolia was observed to possess both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Introduction: Burning mouth syndrome is a condition distinguished by painful burning sensation of the tongue and mucosal tissue of the mouth, lips and palate that lasts from a few days to a few months. Common symptoms of burning mouth syndrome include burning sensation in the mouth, altered taste sensation and xerostomia or dry mouth despite normal salivation. Treatment of BMS is by either local or systemic medications that temporarily relieve symptoms and on improving quality of life. Menopausal or postmenopausal women with hormonal changes or psychological disorders have higher risk of developing burning mouth syndrome. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate and assess the knowledge, awareness and perception on burning mouth syndrome among dental students. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional survey was conducted among dental students to evaluate the awareness about burning mouth syndrome. The study population in the study are the dental students with a sample size of 100. The questionnaire consisted of 14 questions and was shared to dental students using online survey platform. Frequency table was prepared for each question and analysed using spss data analysis software. Results and Discussion: 82% of the participants were aware about burning mouth syndrome and 18% of the participants were not aware. 69% of the participants were aware that psychological problems like anxiety, depression can cause bms whereas 31% of the participants were not aware Conclusion: The dental students have a moderate level of awareness about burning mouth syndrome. Most of the dental students were aware about burning mouth syndrome but there was still a group of teenagers who were not aware. More awareness and better understanding will result in better management and better treatment plans.

Introduction: An immune system is essential for survival. The immune system must be looking for any signs of invasion mostly caused by microorganisms. It plays a vital role in protecting the body against diseases, fighting against foreign bodies and does a remarkable job in defending against microorganisms. A Natural immune booster is an additional immunising agent which helps to increase and sustain the immune response of the body. The aim of this study is to show the awareness level on importance of immune boosting diet among dental students Materials and methods: A questionnaire was prepared consisting of a total 14 questions and was uploaded through an online survey link. The responses were collected and analysed which were later interpreted as pie charts. A total of 100 undergraduate dental students have taken the survey with consent. The data was analysed by IBM SPSS software where descriptive statistics and chi square test was done, where the results are plotted as graphs. Results: A total of 100 participants have taken the survey in which 50% were males and 50% were females. A question was asked whether food directly affects our health in which 96% have answered yes. In another question pertaining to how many meals you eat per day. 48% have answered three times and 48% have answered two times. 98% believe that skipping meals affects our immunity/health. 94% believe that Indian spices can boost our immunity. 92% believe green tea is a great antioxidant. 57% have answered that taking natural food along with supplements can boost immunity instead of just taking either one. 48% answered that fat has more calories followed by carbohydrates. 88% believe that Consumption of carbohydrates can lead to increase in triglycerides. 97% believe that consumption of citrus fruits can increase immunity Conclusion: According to the study, students are aware about the nutrition which is required for maintaining and improving their immunity. As a budding doctor, the students should be aware about the nutrition which is required for maintaining immunity especially during this COVID 19 pandemic.

Aim: To know the Preliminary phytochemical screening, Anti Inflammatory activity and antimicrobial activity Macrotyloma uniflorum (Horse gram) leaf ethanolic extract on selected oral pathogens. Introduction: Macrotyloma uniflorum also known as horse gram is a plant grown for feeding horses, rarely by humans and also in Ayurvedic cuisine. This plant is a legume from tropical southern Asia which belongs to the family of Fabaceae and the kingdom of Plantae. Materials and Methods: Macrotyloma uniflorum ethanolic plant extract was made and statistical analysis was done using various methods in order to know the anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties by preliminary phytochemical screening. Results and Discussion: The polyphenolic compounds flavonoids and tannins appear to be the most promising in Macrotyloma uniflorum ethanolic plant extract. Conclusion: The study demonstrated in vitro antioxidants and anti- inflammatory activities of Macrotyloma uniflorum leaf extract through scavenging, chelating and reducing activity.

Background: Several plant extracts and herbs have been used for treating and prevention of cardiovascular diseases hypertension, angina pectoris, congestive heart failure, atherosclerosis, cerebral and venous insufficiency and arrhythmia. It is caused due to increased deposition of monosodium urate crystals in joints. It is caused due to increased intake of purine rich food. Xanthine oxidase converts hypoxanthine to uric acid. Xanthine oxidase (XO) plays an important role in the regulation of production of uric acid. Many research has been done in the extract to analyse the pharmacological characteristics and its beneficial uses. Pomegranate is widely consumed and used as preventive and therapeutic agents. Aim: The aim of this study is to analyse phytochemical constituents, antioxidant and anti gout activity of aqueous seed extract of Punica granatum. Methods: Aqueous seed extract of Punica granatum was prepared and analysed for its phytochemical, antioxidant and anti gout potential by using statistical methods. Results: Phytochemicals such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids were present in aqueous extract of Punica granatum. IC50 of antioxidant activity of aqueous seed extract of Punica granatum was found to be 280µg/ml. The extract also exhibited anti gout potential with an IC50 = 310 µg/ml. P value is < 0.05 so, it is significant. Conclusion: Aqueous seed extract of punica granatum can be used to treat gout and to combat various other disorders and also have antioxidant and phytochemical activity. It will be an alternative for synthetic drugs. Herbal extracts are more preferred for its accessibility, cost effectiveness and less side effects. The combined effects of antioxidant and xanthine oxidase inhibitors will be helpful in hyperuricemia treatment.

Introduction: Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has emerged as an effective agent for arresting and preventing caries. It offers an immediate inhibition of caries process thereby reducing pain and suffering in those who lack access to quick restorative /prosthetic rehabilitation. It may impact oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL). Aim: This literature review is aimed at reviewing the SDF versus other standard care therapies and exploring their impact on OHRQoL. Methodology: Literature was searched by two independent reviewers to recognise the English language papers in the four most commonly used databases: Medline, PubMed, Embase, and Scopus. Search included 11 randomised controlled trials that used SDF as an intervention either alone or with comparative agent/treatment for caries arrest and studies that considered oral health-related quality of life as an associating factor. Results: Two studies used application of SDF solution or placebo as intervention, few adopted use of comparator agent or/and alternative treatment and some adopted single sample pre-post designs with isolated SDF use. Different versions of Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) was used by most studies for assessment of oral health-related quality of life. While two studies (Ruff et al, Hiremath et al) used the Child Oral Health Impact Profile (COHIP). Conclusion: SDF application may increase the quality of life of children as perceived by their parents and SDF staining is not a concern for both of them.

The topical fluoride acts on the tooth in many ways and their most important action is inhibition of demineralization and enhancement of enamel remineralization.The purpose of this clinical trial was to assess the fluoride concentration in saliva before and after 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and 5% sodium fluoride (NaF) application on enamel and duration of its availability at different time intervals.A randomized clinical trial was conducted among 40 healthy children aged between 6 and 12 years. The participants were then randomly allocated into two different groups in which the first group (group I) was given 30% SDF and the second group (group II) were topically applied with 5% NaF solution. The fluoride concentration was measured in the salivary samples, which were collected at three time intervals, that is, at baseline (S1), 2 hours (S2), and 24 hours (S3) after application. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was used for evaluation and independent pairedWhen using an ANOVA with repeated measures with a Greenhouse-Geisser correction, the mean scores of fluoride concentration were statistically significantly different at different time intervals for both NaF (F = 20.854,The present trial concluded that topical fluoride application increases fluoride bioavailability in saliva thereby increasing tooth remineralization. Restoring lost tooth structure with a material that mimics natural teeth, both in contour and color, is gaining attention among the dentist as well as the patients. One such esthetic material is zirconia. Monolithic Zirconia based restorations are restricted for posterior regions, where mechanical properties are of prime concern and Bilayered Zirconia restorations, are used to achieve better esthetics in the anterior regions. Fracture or chipping of the veneered Zirconia based restorations has been reported clinically and rather than replacing the entire fractured restoration, intraoral repair procedures can be carried out to correct the fractured restoration, which are proven scientifically. Many intraoral repair systems are available in the market. Dentist should have in depth knowledge and awareness on how and when to use the intra oral repair system for each case, which will prevent the need for fabricating a new restoration. Thus the aim of this study is to assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice among general dental practitioners and postgraduate students on intraoral repair of fractured zirconia based restorations in Namakkal district.

For decades, going to the dentist was considered an undesirable experience. It involved sitting under a bright light and having your mouth invaded with a variety of tools. Even though dental health was very important to your overall health and for having a nice smile, among other benefits, many people chose to steer clear of dental visits because of how uncomfortable it was for them. Fortunately, new technological advancements are making trips to the dentist quicker, easier, less painful and more reliable. Due to these advancements, the dental industry was growing rapidly and looking much different than it did in past years. A greater emphasis on treatment and prevention will mean fewer caries (cavities) in patients and less risk of periodontal disease. Similar to innovation within other health care professions, these new technologies will have a huge impact on how dental professionals treat their patients and how people take care of their oral health at home.

Background: The COVID–19 pandemic is confronting the business activities of radiopharmaceutical labs globally. This study aimed to find out the impact of COVID–19 on the radiopharmacy business, services, and research activities. Methods: This survey was conducted online among nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceutical staff. Results: Socio-demographic information was collected. A total of 140 health professionals from 23 countries participated in the study. We observed that the 18F–fluorodeoxyglucose was used frequently during COVID–19 pandemic. The radiopharmacy lab scheduling was reduced. The majority of the respondents were using the local departmental regulations. Conclusions: COVID–19 adversely affected the radiopharmaceutical business and nuclear medicine research.

Plantar fasciitis (PF) is a commonly reported cause of plantar heel pain. The purpose of this study is to create awareness of the risk factors and/or events that leads to the development of plantar fasciitis. The identification of musculoskeletal factors related to plantar heel pain could lead to the development of intervention strategies and improve clinical outcomes. The aim of the study is to know the prevalence and risk factors of plantar fasciitis among middle-aged male and female population – a survey based study. A self-administered questionnaire containing about 16 questions was prepared and circulated through online survey google forms link. About 129 middle aged people responded to the survey. The responses were collected, tabulated and statistically analysed using SPSS software. Out of which 47.33% were females and 52.67% where males. 45.80% of the total population have a stabbing pain in the heel early in the morning and also with the long-standing while 54.20% of the population do not have this condition. 41.22% of the population experience mild pain early in the morning, 42.75% experience moderate pain,13.74% experience severe pain and 2.29% experience very severe pain early in the morning. Plantar fasciitis is one of the causes of inferior heel pain in adults. The patient has a gradual occurrence of pain along the medial side of the heel. The pain is worse when arising in the morning, which becomes less severe after a few steps.

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells with the ability to divide and give rise to identical and undifferentiated cells. Stem cells are most generally used in treating complicated diseases. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a life saving treatment for numerous diseases. This survey shows that there is a great importance towards stem cell therapies among college students.This study is done to create awareness on therapeutic potential of stem cells among college students. The present study consists of self structured questionnaire administered to 100 college students through online google forms link. The data was collected and statistically analysed using SPSS software. The majority of the study population was aware of stem cell therapies. 56.4% of the respondents have therapeutic potential knowledge on stem cells and 54.4% of the respondents have knowledge on existing uses of stem cells. From the survey we may conclude that most of the college students were aware and have prior knowledge of the therapeutic potential of stem cells in health and disease.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are becoming a major cause of death worldwide. Understanding the risk factors for CVD could provide important perception towards the etiology, course, prevention, and treatment for this key health problem. Aim of the survey was to create awareness on the cardiovascular risk factors among young adults. A self-administrated questionnaire was prepared and circulated via an online platform. The data were and the results represented as a bar graph. The data were with SPSS software (SPSS). In this survey, about 52% of the young adults were aware of cardiovascular risk factors, about 57.4% of subjects agreed that smoking is a risk factor of cardiovascular disease, but 42% were not aware of it. 65.3% are aware that elevated blood pressure is also a risk factor for CVD. 56.4% knew that obesity increases a person's risk of cardiovascular disease, but 44% did not agree with that. The survey concluded that there was moderate awareness among young adults about the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, and hence more health awareness should be created for common cardiovascular diseases.

Social media being endemic in prevailing society, has a larger positive impact on humans and society. Also, led to greater technological development and made people closer from different walks of life and various parts of the world. Social media even influences an individual mentally by keeping them entertained and enhancing their creativity and explorations. But on the other hand negative impact had been the greatest talk for time. The negative impact can be experienced on overuse or addiction to it. On being overused social media imparts stress and depression which was proved by the result of our survey study. This study comprises 100 participants of the Chennai population. A self-structured questionnaire was distributed among the targeted population and data were collected. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS software and presented as pie charts and bar charts. The result of the observed population concluded that long exposure to social media or sitting on social media apps has the negative impact indistinguishable from the effect caused due to smoking.

Sugar is used in medicine for coating, adding volume or texture, and flavouring the medicine. It can also act as a preservative and antioxidant. Sucrose is often used in medications to impart a more pleasant taste to often unpalatable chemicals. Sucrose can be found in many medicinal forms such as chewable tablets, syrups and lozenges. The aim of the study is to create awareness on concentration of sugar in medicines among college students. A survey was administered through survey planet link with sample size 100. The questionnaire consisted of 14 questions based on awareness on concentration of sugar. In the present study majority of the participants felt addition of sweeteners in syrups and tablets should be decreased. Adults and children who are administered to long term medicines are prone to caries and other health problems. Chronically ill children are exposed to a greater sugar load from oral medications than healthy children leading to a greater risk of developing caries as a side effect of the treatment. Awareness may be created on the concentration of sugar in medicines and its deleterious effect on health.

Ever Changing perception of beauty from childhood to old age is changing with the revolution in cosmeceuticals science. Aesthetics are an individual’s perception since time immemorial. Standards of beauty have changed through the centuries with increased awareness about aesthetics. The youthfulness despite advancing age includes smooth, charming skin without skin folds, volume loss, and skin laxity, all these are possible only due to these cosmetic procedures mainly due to Botox treatment. The aim of the study is to assess the awareness of Botox injection among college students. The survey questionnaire consisted of 20 questions and was circulated among the college students. The sample size of the study was 100 and the results were tabulated accordingly. The results show that around 65.7% of the college students are unaware that Botox injection should be used only after the age of 25 whereas the remaining 34.3% of the college students are aware of this fact. Around 45.4% of the college students are unaware of the risks associated with cosmetic procedures whereas the remaining 38% of the population are aware of the problem associated with cosmetic procedures and the remaining 18% of the population comes under other categories. Around 54.8% of the population is aware that using Botox may cause side effects like infection, inflammation, and swelling and the rest of the population that is 45.2% are unaware of these effects. From this study, it is very much evident that college students are not much aware of the age limits and the risks associated with the usage of Botox treatment.

Osteoporosis is a serious health concern that affects millions of people around the world, and India is not an exception. Osteoporosis is a common skeletal disease characterised by low bone mass and deterioration of the microarchitecture of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in the bone fragility and increased susceptibility to trauma fractures. Awareness and perceptions of belief and susceptibility in the seriousness of a disease can help in its prevention and control. It includes a questionnaire based study. The survey was conducted among 150 housekeeping employees of age group 45 and above from a private college. The results were obtained and statistically analysed through SPSS software, chi square test was done to check the association and a p value of 0.05 was said to be statistically significant. Osteoporosis is considered to be the most common skeletal disorder affecting humans with high prevalence, worldwide. About 73% of employees were aware of osteoporosis in which 45% of women had experienced bone pain and fracture. Fracture is one of the most serious consequences of osteoporosis that hinders the patient’s quality of life. About 75% of employees have moderate awareness about low calcium or high salt intake and family history predispose a person to osteoporosis. The current study concluded that the knowledge on osteoporosis risk factors, exercise and calcium intake among housekeeping employees could be considered moderate. Furthermore, education of the public regarding prevention of osteoporosis must be incorporated in the health services.

Introduction: The spread of COVID-19 has become a major threat to the whole world and has shown a vast spread all over The important source of the spread of the virus is the droplets from the nose and mouth The virus causes damage more than the respiratory infection and it spreads all through the lungs in a fast manner Researchers have informed that not only droplets from the nose and mouth even small particles from the air can cause the infection The sanitizers and facemask are the most used products during the outbreak to protect us from getting affected by the virus;these have become the major things we believe that protects us from the virus There are two main types of face masks that are produced N95 and P100 Sanitizers that protect us from getting attacked by the viruses have certain contents like 60% alcohol to be present in the sanitizer The use of sanitizer and face mask has become a basic habit of people nowadays during the outbreak But due to lack of knowledge, there is irrelevant usage of masks and sanitizers prevalent among urban society Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was designed online using Google docs which consisted of 15 questions The study population included was the urban population of South India The data were analyzed statistically Results: From this survey, it is evident that the urban South Indian Population is much aware of the usage of self-protective aids during a pandemic situation Conclusion: Awareness is the first step to fight against disease Awareness has to be created for the rural population too A similar survey has to be done with the rural population in the future © IJCRR

Introduction Topical fluoride therapy has proven benefits in the prevention of demineralization. Tooth enamel has shown a great potential for remineralization with an application of topical fluorides if administered at an appropriate time. In an effort to find an effective remineralizing agent, a novel fluoride agent silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has emerged as a potent caries arresting as well as caries preventing agent. Aim and objective The present study was aimed at determining the primary tooth enamel resistance to demineralization after topical application of three fluoride agents SDF, APF, and NaF. Materials and methods Enamel specimens were prepared from 40 caries-free primary molars. These specimens were randomly allocated into three groups of 10 specimens each and they were treated by different topical fluorides namely: Group I–SDF, group II–Acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF), group III–Sodium fluoride. Three enamel specimens from each group were placed on custom-made acrylic blocks with 5 × 5 mm of an exposed window for scanning electron microscope (SEM) evaluation and rest of the specimens were ground into a fine powder for X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. The tooth blocks and treated samples were subjected to the demineralization process for 168 hours. They were then qualitatively assessed to evaluate their resistance to demineralization using SEM, XRD, and FTIR. Results and conclusion Morphologically, the enamel of all groups specimens was mostly smooth with some groves and microporosities. Chemically, the Ca/P molar ratios of all groups were similar with slight variations. Structurally, the crystalline phases found in enamel by powder XRD were hydroxyapatite and carbonate apatite; and there was a higher amount of incorporated type B carbonate than type A carbonate as evidenced by FTIR. Mental health is defined as a state of well being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stress of the life, can work productively and fruitfully and is able to make a contribution towards his or her own community. Mental illness refers to a condition of emotional and mental impairment that disturbs a person’s thinking, mood and ability that relate to others and daily functioning. The aim of the study was to assess the attitude and perception regarding mental illness among the care givers at saveetha medical college and hospital. A quantitative research approach was adopted with convenient sampling technique to select 100 care givers of mentally ill patients at saveetha medical college and hospital. Data was collected by using self - structured questionnaire technique. The data was organized and analyzed in term of descriptive statistics. Association between the level of attitude and the selected demographic variables were analyzed in which there is a significant association between the demographic variables such as education, residence and the type of care givers regarding mental illness. In related to on assessing the association between the level of perception and the selected demographic variables were analyzed in which there is a significant association between the gender, education, occupation, type of family and the type of care givers. This study has demonstrated that the care givers has a decreased level of attitude in relation to education, residence, type of care givers and decreased level of perception in related to gender, occupation, education, type of family and the type of care givers. The study concluded that the care givers have a low level of attitude and perception in related to mental illness.

Stress is an unavoidable phenomenon which disturbs the physiological homeostasis. Noise is the highest encountered stressor that affects the well-being of mankind. Hippocampus, a region of the brain crucial for memory is highly influenced by stress and thereby deteriorates memory. Male albino Wistar rats of 11-12 weeks were used in this study. Nelumbo nucifera (NNE) 400 mg/kg body weight (BW) and its active principle Quercetin (QRCT) (40 mg/kg bw) were administered orally to the animals 10 days before noise stress exposure of (100dB 4h/d). Ability to retain information by Learning and spatial memory was assessed using eight-arm radial maze apparatus. It was observed that after noise stress exposure errors in working, reference memory and time period to move into all baited arms were increased; however, the drug pre-treated animals showed a decrease in all the above parameters. The observations in the present work have proved that NNE and QRCT groups were effective in ameliorating the noise stress-induced changes, but the active component quercetin group had a higher protective impact on the changes.
