13. Monocular 3-D Object Detection Based on Depth-Guided Local Convolution for Smart Payment in D2D Systems

Abstract

3D object detection from mobile phones in device to device (D2D) system provides a new smart payment tool for the next-generation of fintech, which is more flexible and efficient than the traditional barcode. In this paper, we propose a monoc-ular 3D object detection method based on depth guided local convolution. The method combines the information of RGB image mode and depth mode by using a convolution kernel through depth image, and works on a single RGB image locally. According to the multiscale input information, the convolution kernel is adaptively adjusted to capture the target objects of different scales, so as to improve the performance of 3D object detection. In addition, we use soft-NMS algorithm instead of traditional NMS to select the best prediction box. In order to further improve the accuracy of 3D object detection, the depth estimation network and 3D object detection network are jointly trained in this method to make the two networks constrain each other and achieve the best performance.

Abstract

In this work, an incubator is developed for vaccine cold chain transport based on paraffin/SiO2 aerogel composite with polystyrene board for coupling packaging. The morphology and thermal property of PCM was characterized. A combined numerical and experimental study has been conducted to study the multi-level gradient heat transfer behavior. The coupling between the outer insulation board and the inner layer PCM can achieve great synergistic gain, it is reflected in the fact that maintain time increased by 99 times compared to the condition with only insulation board. The optimal double layer board configuration is optimized as XPS/PCM and the thickness ratio is determined as 1:3. The lifting rate of the holding time presented an increasing trend with the overall size of the incubator increasing, providing alternative basis for the cold chain transport configuration under different requirements.

22. Effect of Local Constraint on Driving Torque of Driving Mechanism for Half-rotating Wing

Abstract

Half-rotating wing (HRW) is a new kind of flapping wing system with rotating-type flapping instead of oscillating-type flapping. For the complex mechanical transmission and high weight which is not suitable for flight of traditional half-rotating mechanism (HRM).The simplified HRM with local constraint was proposed as the driving mechanism of HRW in this paper. The performing process and characteristics of local constraint was further given. According to contact state between moving components, the performing process of local constraint was divided into two stages. To analyze the influence of local constraint on the driving torque exerted in the crank of driving mechanism, the model of driving torque under different stages were respectively established. Based on the model, the change curve of driving torque was obtained through simulation by MATLAB, which showed that local constraint had little influence on driving torque. The results could provide guidance for the choice of motor of HRW and optimization of dynamics.

Abstract

This book chapter presents comprehensive investigations on the use of magnetorheological (MR) shock absorber to mitigate the effect of impact loading, with emphasis on the recoil system. A physical model of the field gun is established and a long-stroke MR recoil absorber with four-stage parallel electromagnetic coils is designed to apply separate current respectively and generate variable magnetic field distributions in the annular flow channel. The response time and the compensation method are investigated to facilitate the application. Based on the dynamic analysis and firing stability condition during the process of shock, the ideal recoil force-stroke profiles of MR absorber at different limiting firing angles are obtained. The experimental studies are carried out on the impact test rig under different combinations of current loading: conventional unified control mode, separate control mode and timing control mode.

Abstract

Lung cancer is the main reason of cancer-linked death all over the world. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients always have an extremely poor prognosis. It is urgent to find novel treating methods. It was previously showed that (125)I brachytherapy had been applied to the lung cancer treatment. However, fundamental researches are limited. In the present study, we first explored the mechanism by which (125)I radiation induced arrest or apoptosis of the cell cycle and relevant protein expression. Furthermore, we explored its effect on the invasion. We found that (125)I significantly induced cell apoptosis through mitochondrial pathway, triggered S phase arrest via regulating cyclinA2, p21 and CDK6 expressions. Meanwhile, (125)I could inhibit invasion of NSCLC cells by altering the expression level of vimentin, N-cadherin and MMP-9. Furthermore, we confirmed the effects of (125)I on NSCLC cell growth in vivo. The results indicated that (125)I obviously inhibited the tumor growth. Thus, we determined that (125)I brachytherapy remarkably restrained NSCLC cellular growth and intrusion by inducing apoptosis, S phase arrest and corresponding protein expression.

Abstract

Half-rotating wing (HRW) is a kind of similar-flapping wing system based on half-rotating mechanism which could perform rotating-type flapping instead of oscillating-type flapping. Contralateral-type half-rotating wing (CHRW) could run more steadily and smoothly than previous HRW by newly layout of local constraint that mainly consists of moving sheet, circular stator and straight stator. The work principle of CHRW were firstly given in this paper. The design method of key parts local constraint in CHRW was proposed. The contact force model and smooth running condition of moving sheet were especially derived from contact model between moving sheet and circular stator and geometric relation model between moving sheet and straight stator. On the other hand, compared result between theoretical calculation and simulation verified the correctness of contact force model. After optimizing the parameters of some parts of local constraint, the value of contact force was greatly reduced to improve operation stability of CHRW. The research results mentioned above could provide theoretical guidance for design structure of CHRW.

Abstract

Peripheral nerve injury-induced neuronal hyperactivity in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) participates in neuropathic pain. The calcium-activated potassium channel subfamily N member 1 (KCNN1) mediates action potential afterhyperpolarization (AHP) and gates neuronal excitability. However, the specific contribution of DRG KCNN1 to neuropathic pain is not yet clear. We report that chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the unilateral sciatic nerve or unilateral ligation of the fourth lumbar nerve produced the downregulation of Kcnn1 mRNA and KCNN1 protein in the injured DRG. This downregulation was partially attributed to a decrease in DRG estrogen-related receptor gamma (ESRRG), a transcription factor, which led to reduced binding to the Kcnn1 promoter. Rescuing this downregulation prevented CCI-induced decreases in total potassium voltage currents and AHP currents, reduced excitability in the injured DRG neurons, and alleviated CCI-induced development and maintenance of nociceptive hypersensitivities, without affecting locomotor function and acute pain. Mimicking the CCI-induced DRG KCNN1 downregulation resulted in augmented responses to mechanical, heat, and cold stimuli in naive mice. Our findings indicate that ESRRG-controlled downregulation of DRG KCNN1 is likely essential for the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain. Thus, KCNN1 may serve as a potential target for managing this disorder.

Abstract

Background: Neuropathic pain is a chronic and intractable pain, with very few effective analgesics. It involves an impaired cell autophagy process. Hydrogen-rich saline (HRS) reportedly reduces allodynia and hyperalgesia in a neuropathic pain model; however, it is unknown whether these effects involve autophagy induction., Methods: We investigated the relationship between HRS and cell autophagy in a neuropathic pain model generated by chronic constriction injury (CCI) in Sprague-Dawley rats. Rats received an intraperitoneal injection of HRS (10 mL/kg daily, from 1 day before until 14 days after CCI), 3MA (autophagy inhibitor), 2ME2 (HIF-1 α inhibitor), or EDHB (HIF-1 α agonist). The mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal withdrawal latency (TWL) were tested 1 day before and 1, 3, 7, 10, and 14 days after the operation. HIF-1 α and cell autophagy markers in the spinal cord were evaluated by western blotting and real-time PCR assays at 14 days after CCI. Autophagosomes with double membranes were identified by transmission electron microscopy., Results: CCI caused behavioral hypersensitivity to mechanical and thermal stimulation in the hind-paw of the injured side. HRS improved MWT and TWL, activated autophagy, and increased autophagosomes and autolysosomes in CCI rats. 3-MA aggravated hyperalgesia and allodynia and suppressed autophagy, while EDHB attenuated hyperalgesia and activated the autophagy procedure and the HIF-1 α downstream target gene BNIP3. HIF-1 α inhibitors reversed the regulatory effects of HRS on autophagy in CCI rats at 14 days after spinal cord injury., Conclusion: HRS reduced mechanical hyperalgesia and activation of cell autophagy in neuropathic pain through a HIF1-dependent pathway.
