Raisins are a significant grape product with an annual trade volume of approximately USD 2 billion. There are various methods employed for drying grapes into raisins. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different drying methods on raisins, specifically, without pretreatment (SD), treatment with potassium carbonate (5%) containing 2% olive oil (POT), and treatment with ashy water with 2.5% olive oil (AOW). The study examined the changes in raisin weight, physicochemical characteristics, total phenolics, antioxidant and anthocyanin contents, color properties, and protein content in three grape varieties: Deyvani, Haseni, and Reşek. The results indicated that POT treatment resulted in the lightest raisins in Deyvani (0.48 g) and Reşek (0.58 g), while Haseni exhibited the heaviest raisins (0.64 g) under the same treatment. The variations in physicochemical characteristics were relatively limited compared to the changes observed in phenolic and antioxidant properties. Nontreated raisins had the lowest anthocyanin content across all varieties. Protein content was significantly affected by the POT treatment, while the effects of the AOW and SD treatments were comparatively minor. SD drying resulted in slightly brighter raisins, but lower phenolic content and significantly lower color properties. The findings of this study highlight the differential effects of drying methods on different grape varieties, emphasizing the importance of considering a variety-specific approach when selecting the drying method.

This study was carried out in 42 orchards located in the lowland of Develi, where the apple cultivation is intense in Kayseri province. The analyses were made to determine pH, CaCO3, EC, organic matter, available phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn) and copper (Cu) in soil samples and nitrogen (N), P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, and boron (B) in leaf samples. In the study, the relationships between some physical and chemical properties of the soils and the plant nutrient content of the leaves were evaluated by correlation analysis. In the study, between some physical and chemical properties of soils and the nutritional elements of soils and leaves were found important statistical relations. These relationships were mostly between soil samples rather than leaves. On the other hand, the pH and EC values of the soils showed less significant relationships with the nutrient contents of the samples according to the organic matter and CaCO3 contents of soils. It was determined that the organic matter content of the soils had a positive relationship with all the investigated elements except phosphorus. It has been determined that the relationship between the CaCO3 content and nutritional elements in the soils is statistically significant, it has a positive correlation with potassium and calcium and a negative correlation with other investigated elements. No significant relationships were found between the nutrient contents of the soils and the macro element contents of the leaves. While some important statistical relationships were determined between nutrient contents of the soils and micro element contents of the leaves, the highest correlation was determined between copper and boron contents. It was determined that the copper content of the leaves was positively related to the phosphorus, potassium and magnesium content of the soils and negatively related to the manganese content of the soils.

Turkey is one of the countries that allow the cultivation of most plant species due to the different climate. In this study on apple, pear and quince species, which belong to these plant species and have economic importance, the projection status is to be calculated based on the data from TUIK. For the apple species in the study, the projection coefficient ranged from 20.71 to 19.58, while the average value of the projection coefficient was found to be 5.70. While the projection coefficients for pear species varied from - 2.78 to 6.51 and for quince species from - 23.01 to 37.68, the average projection coefficients for these species were determined to be 2.05 and 4.87, respectively. Depending on these projection coefficients, the production values of the three fruit species are predicted to increase in the coming years (without considering the effects of biotic and abiotic conditions)., Türkiye, sahip olduğu iklimin farklılık göstermesi sebebiyle çoğu bitki türünün yetişmesine imkân sağlayan ülkeler arasındadır. Bu bitki türleri arasında yer alan ve ekonomik öneme sahip olan elma, armut ve ayva türü üzerine yapılan bu çalışmada TÜİK verilerine bağlı olarak projeksiyon durumlarının hesaplanması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada incelenen elma türünde projeksiyon katsayısı -20,71 ile 19,58 arasında değişirken ortalama projeksiyon katsayı değeri 5,70 olarak belirlenmiştir. Armut türünde projeksiyon katsayıları -2,78 ile 6,51 arasında, ayva türünde ise -23,01 ile 37,68 arasında değişim gösterirken bu türlerde ortalama projeksiyon katsayıları sırasıyla 2,05 ile 4,87 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu projeksiyon katsayılarına bağlı olarak üç meyve türünün gelecek yıllarda üretim değerlerinin (biyotik ve abiyotik koşulların etkisi göz ardı edilmek kaydıyla) artış göstereceği öngörülmektedir.

Avrupa Birliği (AB) tam üyelik sürecinde yer alan ülkemizde, imalat sektöründe temiz üretim yaklaşımının yapılandırılması amacıyla çeşitli çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. "Belirli Sektörlerde Temiz Üretim Uygulamaları Projesi (BESTÜ)" de bu çalışmalardan birini oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren tekstil ve deri sektörleri için "Entegre Kirlilik Önleme ve Kontrolü", yeni adıyla "Endüstriyel Emisyonlar Direktifi'ne (IPPC-IED)" uyum sağlanabilmesi ve Taslak Sektörel Temiz Üretim Uygulama Tebliğleri'nin hazırlanması amacıyla BESTÜ Projesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasındaki esas amaç; BESTÜ Projesi kapsamında tekstil firmaları tarafından doldurulan anketlerden elde edilen verilerin kullanılmasıyla, ülkemizde tekstil sektöründe faaliyet gösteren tesislerin mevcut en iyi teknikleri (MET) uygulama durumunun değerlendirilmesidir. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında Türkiye'nin çeşitli bölgelerinde, 4 farklı tekstil alt sektöründe faaliyet gösteren ve farklı üretim proseslerine sahip olan 56 tesis anketi vasıtasıyla tesislerin MET uygulama durumunun değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. 2003 yılında yayınlanmış olan IPPC MET Referans Dokümanı (BREF) kaynak alınarak 17 ana başlık ve toplam 46 alt başlık altında yer alan 488 MET vasıtasıyla ülkemizde tekstil sektöründe faaliyet gösteren tesislerin temiz üretime uygunlukları değerlendirilmiştir. BESTÜ Projesi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen anket çalışmaları istatistik temelli sayısal bir analiz ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bu MET'lerin ne kadarının uygulandığı ya da uygulama durumunun ne kadar mümkün olduğu, uygulanmayan ama uygulanabilir olanların ne kadar sürede tamamen uygulanabilir duruma gelmesi ile ilgili güncel bir veri tabanı oluşturulması hedeflenmiştir. Bu tez çalışması sonucunda; proje faaliyetleri için gerçekleştirilen 56 tesis anketi ve 488 MET değerlendirildiğinde, mevcut MET uygulama durumu %37 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Mevcut MET uygulama durumunun düşük olmasının sebebi olarak; altyapı yetersizlikleri, teknik ve teknolojik engeller, ilk yatırım ve işletme maliyetleri, ürün üzerinde olumsuz etki oluşturacağı endişesi ve rekabet koşullarının olumsuz etkilenmesi durumu söylenebilir. Gelecekte MET uygulanabilirlik durumu ise %88 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Anket çalışmaları sonucunda 17 MET ana başlığı altında MET'lerin ilgili tekstil alt sektörlerinde mevcut uygulama durumları değerlendirilmiştir. Buna göre %20-91 arasındaki en çok uygulama oranına sahip 19 MET belirlenmiştir. Uygulama oranı en yüksek olan ilk beş MET; "sektörle ilgili yeni teknolojiler ve gelişmelerin takip edilmesi" (MET 11-uygulanma oranı %91), "tekstil atıklarının yeniden kullanımı için uygun şekilde biriktirilmesi, depolanması/saklanması ve uzaklaştırılması" (MET 484-uygulanma oranı %88), "tüm kimyasal maddeleri, madde güvenlik veri kılavuzlarında (MGBF/MSDS) verilen talimatlara göre saklanması ve depolanması" (MET 25-uygulanma oranı %86), "hammadde ve kimyasalların seçiminde kaynak verimliliği sağlayabilecek maddelerin tercih edilmesi" (MET 23-uygulanma oranı %84), "çalışma olmadığı ya da makinelerin duruşa geçtiği durumlarda kapatılması" (MET 164-uygulanma oranı %82) ve "hava kaçaklarının önlenmesi" (MET 176-uygulanma oranı %82)'dir. Bunun yanı sıra mevcut uygulama oranı en az olan %0-43 arasındaki 25 MET belirlenmiştir. En düşük uygulanma oranına sahip MET'ler ise; "ön fiksede koku giderimi ve yağ geri kazanımı için elektrastik filtre takılması" (MET 418), "ön fiksede ramözlerden önce ön yıkama yapılması" (MET 419), "membran proseslerinin kullanımı" (MET 443), "tekstil atıksularının membran prosesleri ile arıtılması ve geri kullanılması" (MET 444), "kompozit atıksuların membran biyoreaktörlerle (MBR) arıtımı" (MET 445), "membran biyoreaktör (MBR) +nanofiltrasyon (NF) proseslerinin kullanımıyla arıtılmış atıksuların geri kullanımı" (MET 446), "çeşitli kombine arıtma proseslerinin kullanımıyla atıksuların arıtılması ve su geri kazanımı" (MET 447), "atıksuların ozonlama+aktif çamur sistemi ile arıtılması" (MET 450), "atıksuların arıtımında aktif çamur sistemi + toz aktif karbon + kum filtresi uygulaması" (MET 455) ve "atıksuların anaerobik arıtma ve nanofiltrasyon prosesleriyle arıtımı" (MET 458)'dır. "Cleaner Production Practices in Certain Sectors Project (BESTU)" is one of these studies. BESTU Project was carried out in order to comply with the "Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control", newly named "Industrial Emissions Directive (IPPC-IED)" for the textile and leather industries operating in Turkey, and to prepare the Draft Sectoral Cleaner Production Implementation Communiqués. The main purpose of this thesis study is evaluation of the best available techniques (BAT) application situation of the facilities operating in the textile sector in our country by using the data obtained from the questionnaires filled by the textile companies within the scope of the BESTU Project. In the thesis study, the BAT implementation status of the facilities was evaluated by means of a survey of 56 facilities operating in 4 different textile sub-sectors and having different production processes in various regions of Turkey. Based on the IPPC BAT Reference Document (BREF) published in 2003, the suitability of the facilities operating in the textile sector in our country for cleaner production was evaluated through 488 BATs under 17 main headings and a total of 46 sub-titles. Survey studies carried out within the scope of BESTU Project were evaluated with a statistical-based numerical analysis. It was aimed to create a database about how many of these BATs were implemented in current stuation, or implementation possibilities in future, how long it takes not implemented ones to become fully applicable. As a result of this thesis study; the current BAT implementation status was found to be 37% when 56 facility surveys which includes 488 BATs for project activities were evaluated. As the current BAT implementation status is low; infrastructure deficiencies, technical and technological barriers, initial investment and operating costs, the concern that it will have a negative impact on the product, and the adverse effects of competition conditions can be said. In addition; the future BAT applicability status is 88%. As a result of the survey studies, the current application situations of BAT in the relevant textile sub-sectors were evaluated under the main title of 17 BATs. Accordingly, 19 BATs with the highest application ratio between 20-91% were determined. The top five BAT with the highest application ratio were found "following new technologies and developments related to the industry" (BAT 11-implementation ratio 91%), "appropriate accumulation, storage and disposal of textile wastes for reuse" (BAT 484-implementation ratio 88%), "all chemicals, storage according to the instructions given in the substance safety data sheets (MSDS)" (BAT 25-implementation ratio 86%), "preferring substances that can provide resource efficiency in the selection of raw materials and chemicals" (BAT 23-implementation ratio 84%), "turning off the machines in case of no operation or downtime" (BAT 164-implementation ratio 82%) and "prevention of air leaks" (BAT 176-implementation ratio 82%). In addition, 25 BATs with the lowest current application ratio between 0-43% were found. These BATs were; "installing electrified filters for odor removal and oil recovery in pre-fixing" (BAT 418), "pre-washing before stenters in pre-fixing" (BAT 419), (BAT 443), "treatment of textile wastewater by membrane processes" and reuse" (BAT 443 and 444), "treatment of textile wastewaters with membrane bioreactors (MBR)" (BAT 445), "reuse of wastewater after treated by membrane bioreactor (MBR)+nanofiltration (NF) processes" (BAT 446), "reuse of textile wastewater after treatment by various combined treatment processes" (BAT 447), "treatment of wastewater with ozonation + activated sludge system" (BAT 450), "active sludge system + powder activated carbon + sand filter application in the treatment of wastewater" (BAT 455) and "treatment of wastewater by using anaerobic treatment and nanofiltration processes" (BAT 458). It is concluded that they have important application potentials when the current application situations of the BATs in the survey and their future applicability were evaluated. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the constructivist approach on retention scores and to reveal its effectiveness in the learning environment within the framework of participant views. In this context, a quantitative and qualitative research was conducted within the framework of the mixed-meta method. The mixed-meta method can be explained as the use of meta-analysis and meta-thematic analysis together based on document review. Within the scope of meta-analysis, studies examining the effect of constructivism on retention were evaluated by scanning different databases between the years 2005 and 2021. The data obtained in the studies were analysed with the CMA program and the effect size value was calculated as g = 1.02. In the meta-thematic analysis process, studies containing participant views on the use of the constructivist approach were examined according to content analysis and some themes and codes were obtained. Requirements for a constructivist learning environment, the cognitive and affective effectiveness of the relevant approach, and the problems encountered in practice have emerged. As a result of the research, it was appeared that the effect of the constructivist approach on the retention scores of the learners was high and positive. Accordingly, it can be stated that the constructivist approach is quite effective on the retention of learning. As a result of the meta-thematic analysis data in the qualitative dimension, it was come out that the related approach facilitated the learning by supporting the learners in the cognitive and affective dimensions in the learning process. In addition, it has been determined that many aspects such as materials, technological support, physical condition of the environment, class size are required in the learning environment. From the participant views, it was stated that in some cases, problems such as time, material, teacher training, and learner motivation can be encountered in the constructivist approach. When these results are evaluated in the general framework, it is understood that the constructivist approach is effective on the retention of learning and in creating positive learning environments, provided that appropriate environment and conditions are provided.

Araştırma, Kayseri ili Yahyalı ilçesinde bulunan M9 ve MM106 anaçları üzerine aşılı 7 standart elma (Malus domestica L.) çeşidine uygulanan azot+fosfor çözücü (Azospirillum sp-245 + Bacillus megaterium M3) bakterilerinin meyve kalite parametreleri ve vejetatif özellikleri üzerine etkilerinin belirlenmesi amacı ile 2020-2021 yıllarında yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada çeşit*anaç kombinasyonlarında meyve ve bitkisel özellikler üzerine rizobakteri uygulamasının etkisi istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunurken, çeşit*anaç kombinasyonu bazında farklılıklar göstermiştir. Rizobakteri uygulaması meyvelerin ağırlığı ve boyutları ile bitkilerin vejetatif gelişmesi üzerine önemli pozitif katkılar sağlarken, SÇKM ve TEA içeriği ile MES değeri üzerine ise negatif etkisi söz konusu olmuştur. Rizobakteri uygulamasının pozitif katkı oranı değerlendirildiğinde, bu oranın meyve ağırlığında %15.81’e, yaprak alanında %9.97’ye, sürgün uzunluğunda %26.72’ye, yaprakların SPAD değerlerinde ise %8.42’ye kadar olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bitki büyümesini teşvik edici azot+fosfor çözücü rizobakteri uygulamalarının elmada biyolojik gübre olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Sunulan çalışmada, Uluslararası Doğayı Koruma Birliği’ne göre nesli tehlike altında olarak sınıflandırılan Hatay Dağ Ceylanları’ndaki (Gazella gazella) parazitlerin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, Hatay Dağ Ceylanları Yaban Hayatı Geliştirme Sahası’nda, 15 tanesi 3 yaşın üstünde ve ergin kabul edilen 40 adet (30 ♀, 10 ♂) ceylanın yaşadığı arazide yapılmıştır. Ceylanların dışkılamaları takip edilerek 60 adet dışkı odağından dışkı örnekleri alınmıştır. Örneklerin her biri, Benedek sedimentasyon, Fülleborn flotasyon, Bearman-Wetzel metodları ile analiz edilerek ışık mikroskobu altında incelenmiştir. Ayrıca Hatay Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi, Yaban Hayvanı Kurtarma ve Rehabilitasyon Merkezi’ne getirilen yaralı bir ceylandan toplanan Ixodid keneler stereomikroskopta teşhis edilmiştir. Dışkı örneklerinin mikroskobik muayenesinde; Nematodirus spp. (5/60, %8), Marshallagia spp. (4/60, %7), Trichostrongylus spp. yumurtalarına (3/60, %5), Dictiyocaulus filaria larvalarına (3/60, %5) ve Eimeria spp. ookistlerine (9/60, %15) rastlanmıştır. Ixodid kene örnekleri ise Rhipicephalus turanicus (2 ♀, 3 ♂) olarak teşhis edilmiştir. Bu çalışmayla Türkiye’de Hatay Dağ Ceylanları’nda parazitlerin varlığı ilk kez kayıt altına alınmıştır. Ceylanlarda paraziter kaynaklı hastalık oluşumunun önlenebilmesi için deri ve dışkı muayenelerinin yapılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir., The current study aimed to detect parasites in Hatay Mountain Gazelles (Gazella gazella), which are categorized as endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. The present study was conducted in Hatay Mountain Gazelle Wildlife Development Area, where 40 gazelles inhabited (30 ♀, 10 ♂), 15 of which were over three years old as well-considered adults. Fecal samples were taken from 60 fecal foci immediately after the defecation of the gazelles. Each of the fecal samples was analysed with Benedek sedimentation, Fülleborn flotation and Bearman-Wetzel methods and examined under a light microscope. In addition, Ixodid ticks were collected from an injured gazelle which was brought to Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, then were identified under the stereomicroscope. Nematodirus spp. (5/60, 8%), Marshallagia spp. (4/60, 7%), Trichostrongylus spp. (3/60, 5%) eggs, Dictiyocaulus filaria larvae (3/60, 5%) and Eimeria spp. oocysts (9/60, 15%) were determined based on the microscopic examination. Ixodid tick samples were identified as Rhipicephalus turanicus (2 ♀, 3 ♂). Thus this is the first report of the existence of parasites in Hatay Mountain Gazelles in Turkey. It is thought that skin and fecal examinations should be performed to prevent parasitic diseases in gazelles.

Due to its different ecological conditions, Türkiye is one of the rare countries where the most of fruit species have spread widely throughout the country, both economically and naturally. In this study on apple, which is one of the important fruit species with economic importance, was aimed to determine the color characteristics, biochemical and sugar contents of 4 different commercial apple cultivars grown in the ecological conditions of Çarşamba district of Samsun province. The material of the study consisted of 6-7 years (2016 and 2017) old trees belonging to Granny Smith, Fuji, Galaxy Gala, and Royal Gala cultivars grafted on M9 clone rootstock. Wide variations occurred in all parameters evaluated in the study among the cultivars. The fructose content of the cultivars was from 14.22 (Royal Gala) to 34.40 g 100 ml-1 (Fuji), glucose content was from 1.30 (Galaxy Gala) to 4.34 g 100 ml-1 (Fuji), and sucrose content was varied from 2.01 (Fuji) to 4.52 g 100 ml-1 (Granny Smith). The highest value in total sugar content was determined in Fuji cultivar with 40.75 g 100 ml-1. The highest total phenolics, total flavonoids and antioxidant activity (according to DPPH and FRAP) were 423.7 mg 100 g-1 (Granny Smith), 96.1 mg 100 g-1 (Fuji), 250.8 µmol 100 g-1 (Granny Smith) and 952.9 µmol 100 g-1 (Granny Smith), respectively. In the principal component analysis results, the first component was associated with a*, b*, hue angle, total phenolics, total flavonoids and antioxidant activity (DPPH and FRAP) and explained 59.4% of the total variation. The second component explained 36.4% of the total variation of the obtained data and was determined to be related to L*, chroma, glucose, sucrose, fructose, and total sugar properties. As a result, Granny Smith cultivar gave remarkable results in terms of biochemical properties and Fuji cultivar in terms of sugar content. It is thought that the results obtained may guide the researches to be made about apples in this region., Türkiye, sahip olduğu farklı ekolojik koşullar nedeniyle çoğu meyve türünün ülke genelinde hem ekonomik hem de doğal olarak yayılış gösterdiği ender ülkelerden biridir. Ekonomik öneme sahip önemli meyve türlerinden biri olan elma üzerine yapılan bu çalışmada Samsun ili Çarşamba ilçesi ekolojik koşullarında yetiştirilen 4 farklı ticari elma çeşidinin renk özellikleri, biyokimyasal ve şeker içeriklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın materyalini M9 klon anacı üzerine aşılı Granny Smith, Fuji, Galaxy Gala ve Royal Gala çeşitlerine ait 6-7 (2016 ve 2017) yaşındaki ağaçlar oluşturmuştur. Çeşitler arasında incelenen bütün parametrelerde geniş varyasyonlar oluşmuştur. Çeşitlerin fruktoz içeriği 14.22 (Royal Gala)-34.40 g 100 ml-1 (Fuji), glikoz içeriği 1.30 (Galaxy Gala)-4.34 g 100 ml-1 (Fuji) ve sukroz içeriği 2.01 (Fuji)-4.52 g 100 ml-1 (Granny Smith) arasında değişim göstermiştir. Toplam şeker içeriğinde en yüksek değer 40.75 g 100 ml-1 ile Fuji çeşidinde belirlenmiştir. En yüksek toplam fenolik, toplam flavonoid ve antioksidan aktivitesi (DPPH ve FRAP) ise sırasıyla 423.7 mg 100 g-1 (Granny Smith), 96.1 mg 100 g-1 (Fuji), 250.8 µmol 100 g-1 (Granny Smith) ve 952.9 µmol 100 g-1 (Granny Smith) olarak tespit edilmiştir. Temel bileşen analizi sonuçlarına göre, 1. bileşen a*, b*, hue açısı, toplam fenolik, toplam flavonoid ve antioksidan aktivite (DPPH ve FRAP) ile ilişkili olup, toplam varyasyonun %59.4’ünü açıklamıştır. 2. bileşen ise elde edilen verilerin toplam varyasyonunun %36.4’ünü açıklamış ve L*, kroma, glikoz, sukroz, fruktoz ve toplam şeker özellikleri ile ilişkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, biyokimyasal özellikler bakımından Granny Smith, şeker içerikleri bakımından ise Fuji çeşidi kayda değer sonuçlar vermiştir. Elde edilen sonuçların bu bölgede elma ile ilgili yapılacak araştırmalara yol gösterici nitelikte olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) diseases have almost affected 100 million men all over the world. Orally administered phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors are the most used pharmaceutical formulations for the treatment of ED. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the metabolomics feature of orally administered vardenafil in rats. To carry out the experimental procedure eight male Wistar albino rats were used. Their livers were gently removed and metabolomics profiles of each sample were determined by UPLC Q-TOF MS. Identification of metabolites was achieved by the METLIN database. Cluster analysis was also performed via Principle Component Analysis. Several metabolites were identified and results were evaluated by XCMS software. UPLC Q-TOF MS could be successfully applied to profile biomarkers and help us understand the molecular mechanisms of vardenafil usage. It was concluded that the level of some metabolites, responsible for the collagen synthesis and Kreb's cycle, has been statistically significant after the vardenafil administration.

Just because of geographical spread, citrus species generally grow in places sensitive to salinity. Testing methods have a significant role in breeding and cultivar development programs. This study was conducted to investigate in vitro salt response of Cleopatra mandarin (Citrus reshni Tan.), sour orange (Citrus aurantium L.), rough lemon (Citrus jambhiri Lush.), Volkamer lemon (Citrus volkameriana Tan & Pasq.), Carrizo citrange (Poncirus trifoliata L. Raf. X Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) and trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata Raf.) rootstocks at different NaCl concentrations. Seeds were germinated in MS medium with 0, 45, 90 and 135 mM NaCl concentrations. In general, the greatest germination rates in all salt concentrations in Volkamer lemon and sour orange rootstocks and the lowest values were observed in rough lemon and trifoliate orange rootstocks. Present findings revealed that in vitro conditions could reliably be used in salt tolerance tests of citrus rootstocks.

Among these plant species, naturally growing wild pears (Pyrus elaeagrifolia Pall.) are resistant to chlorosis and drought and could be used in rootstock development programs. In present study, genetic diversity in 96 wild pear genotypes collected from 11 different provinces (Kayseri, Ankara, Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Nevşehir, Konya, Isparta, Denizli, Uşak, Afyonkarahisar, Eskişehir) and regions of Turkey through selection was investigated with the use of SSR (Simple Sequence Repeat) molecular marker system. Present analyses carried out in ABI (Applied Biosystem) 3500 capillary electrophoresis system revealed 93 scorable and all polymorphic bands, thus polymorphism rate was 100%. In UPGMA (Unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean) dendrogram of wild pear genotypes, similarity index values varied between 0.20-0.83 and a large variation was observed among the genotypes. Present finding may have significant contributions to further studies to be conducted for preservation of gene sources and breeding of wild pear genotype
