2. Multimodal Feature Fusion for Video Advertisements Tagging Via Stacking Ensemble

Abstract

Automated tagging of video advertisements has been a critical yet challenging problem, and it has drawn increasing interests in last years as its applications seem to be evident in many fields. Despite sustainable efforts have been made, the tagging task is still suffered from several challenges, such as, efficiently feature fusion approach is desirable, but under-explored in previous studies. In this paper, we present our approach for Multimodal Video Ads Tagging in the 2021 Tencent Advertising Algorithm Competition. Specifically, we propose a novel multi-modal feature fusion framework, with the goal to combine complementary information from multiple modalities. This framework introduces stacking-based ensembling approach to reduce the influence of varying levels of noise and conflicts between different modalities. Thus, our framework can boost the performance of the tagging task, compared to previous methods. To empirically investigate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed framework, we conduct extensive experiments on the challenge datasets. The obtained results suggest that our framework can significantly outperform related approaches and our method ranks as the 1st place on the final leaderboard, with a Global Average Precision (GAP) of 82.63%. 12. Maximin Design of Wideband Constant Modulus Waveform for Distributed Precision Jamming

Abstract

Distributed precision jamming (DPJ) is an efficient way to control the combined power spectrum (CPS) of both target and friendly devices in electronic warfare. However, the existing methods neglect the design of worst-case CPS performance, and a great challenge is posed in determining an appropriate Pareto parameter to protect the friendly devices in practice. To address these issues, this paper investigates the maximin design of wideband constant modulus (CM) waveform for DPJ. Specifically, a novel optimization problem is established by maximizing the minimum CPS of the target equipment, and the maximum CPS of friendly devices is controlled under a given threshold in the constraint. The resultant problem is nonconvex and nonsmooth, together with CM and numerous quadratic constraints. Two algorithms, which can start from an infeasible initial point, are proposed to tackle the problem approximated by the $l_{p}$-norm. The first algorithm resorts to the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) framework, and each subproblem is obtained with a closed-form solution. The second algorithm merges the penalty distance (PD) method and manifold optimization. The crux of this approach is to obtain the closed-form Euclidean PD term via the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions and leverage the Riemannian conjugate gradient (RCG) framework, and we name this algorithm PD-RCG. Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms. Comparatively speaking, the ADMM-based algorithm has better performance in protecting the friendly devices, while the PD-RCG algorithm performs better on the computational efficiency and the worst-case CPS of the target equipment.

Abstract

In bistatic spaceborne High-Resolution Wide-Swath SAR systems (HRWS-SAR), the azimuth reconstruction to obtain a uniform sampling signal or Doppler spectrum is a crucial step in image processing because azimuth signals are generally of non-uniform sampling type. In this study, the variant transmitting distance to receiving distance radio is approximated to be a constant, the equivalence between the bistatic and monostatic SAR azimuth interchannel transfer functions is deduced, and the azimuth signal model in spaceborne HRWS-SAR with general bistatic configuration is established. Furthermore, the matrix inversion algorithm to reconstruct the azimuth signal is proposed; in addition, to measure the reconstruction performance, the formulae for the signal noise ratio scaling factor and the azimuth ambiguity signal ratio are provided. The azimuth reconstruction is simulated in several spaceborne HRWS-SAR systems with typical bistatic configuration, and the results show that the azimuth Doppler spectrum can be correctly reconstructed via the matrix inversion algorithm when the azimuth sampling is conducted without coinciding samples.

Abstract

Anthidiini, a large bee tribe characterized by light-colored maculations, represents nearly 1,000 pollinator species, but no genomes are yet available for this tribe. Here, we report a chromosome-level genome assembly of Anthidium xuezhongi collected from the Tibetan Plateau. Using PacBio long reads and Hi-C data, we assembled a genome of 189.14 Mb with 99.94% of the assembly located in 16 chromosomes. Our assembly contains 23 scaffolds, with the scaffold N50 length of 12.53 Mb, and BUSCO completeness of 98.70% (n  = 1,367). We masked 25.98 Mb (13.74%) of the assembly as repetitive elements, identified 385 noncoding RNAs, and predicted 10,820 protein-coding genes (99.20% BUSCO completeness). Gene family evolution analyses identified 9,251 gene families, of which 31 gene families experienced rapid evolution. Interspecific chromosomal variation among A. xuezhongi , Bombus terrestris , and Apis mellifera showed strong chromosomal syntenic relationships. Abstract

In this paper, we consider the problem of tracking the direction of arrivals (DOA) and the direction of departure (DOD) of multiple targets for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. A high-precision tracking algorithm for target angle is proposed. First, the linear relationship between the covariance matrix difference and the angle difference of the adjacent moment was obtained through three approximate relations. Then, the proposed algorithm obtained the relationship between the elements in the covariance matrix difference. On this basis, the performance of the algorithm was improved by averaging the covariance matrix element. Finally, the least square method was used to estimate the DOD and DOA. The algorithm realized the automatic correlation of the angle and provided better performance when compared with the adaptive asymmetric joint diagonalization (AAJD) algorithm. The simulation results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The algorithm provides the technical support for the practical application of MIMO radar.
