New food packaging has shown research significance in the face of increasing demand for high-quality foods and growing attention paid to food safety. In this study, ginger essential oil microcapsule composite films were prepared by combining microcapsules prepared by a complex coacervation method with gelatin films, and the mechanical properties and active functions of the composite films were analyzed. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry confirmed the successful encapsulation of ginger essential oil. The scanning electron microscopy of the composite films showed the microcapsules and gelatin film matrix were highly compatible. During the entire storage period, the antioxidant capacity of the ginger essential oil microcapsule films weakened more slowly than ginger essential oil microcapsules and could be maintained at a relatively high level for a long time. The microcapsule films had excellent inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis. Therefore, the direct addition of microcapsules to a film matrix can broaden the application range of microcapsules and increase the duration of the release of active ingredients. Ginger essential oil microcapsule films are potential biodegradable food packaging films with long-lasting activity.

Effective separation and fast transport of photogenerated carriers are vital links determining the photocatalytic performance. Heterostructure constructed by two complementary semiconductors is a feasible strategy to achieve this goal. By one‐pot hydrothermal method, 0D‐TiO2 nanoparticles are loaded onto 2D‐CuGaO2 nanosheets, forming a mixed dimension, closely combined heterostructure. The photocurrent density of CuGaO2/TiO2 heterostructure is ∼16.6 μA/cm2, which is 1.24 times higher than that of pristine CuGaO2 nanosheets (∼13.4 μA/cm2) and 15 times higher than that of TiO2 (∼1.1 μA/cm2). In the tetracycline hydrochloride degradation experiment, the degradation efficiency of tetracycline hydrochloride by CuGaO2/TiO2 heterostructure reached 99% within 90 min, which was 1.2 times the degradation efficiency of CuGaO2 nanoparticles (82%) and 20.2 times the degradation rate of TiO2 (4.9%). A series of experimental characterizations combined with density functional theory calculations revealed that it is the built‐in electric field in the CuGaO2/TiO2 interface region that drives the photogenerated electron–hole pairs to travel in the opposite direction, thus inhibiting their recombination. Furthermore, the energy band offset of the CuGaO2/TiO2 interface makes it easier for the photogenerated holes and electrons to gather onto the valence band of the CuGaO2 nanosheets and the conduction band of the TiO2 nanoparticles, respectively. Therefore, appropriate interface lattice matching, suitable configuration of band gap and band edge positions, and strong opposite drive of interface electric field enable CuGaO2/TiO2 heterostructure to achieve wide spectral response and effective separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs at the same time. Largehead hairtail, Trichiurus lepturus, fishery status in the East China Sea was estimated using length frequencies data sets for 2001, 2004, 2009 and 2013 and catch and effort data from 2000~2012. Length frequency data for 8,350 individuals were collected using pair trawl nets. The predominant size classes in the catch comprised of 130-374 mm in 2001, 83-360 mm in 2004, 53-355 mm in 2009, and 23-389 mm in 2013. Growth parameters of asymptotic length ranged from 515.6 to 768.6 mm in 2004 and 2009, growth coefficients ranged from 0.230 to 0.685, and t0 from -0.654 to -0.494. The rate of total mortality (Z) ranged from 0.82 to 2.73 year-1 in 2013 and 2001, respectively. The exploitation rate was estimated to range from 0.660-0.797 year-1. Catch per unit effort estimates showed a consistent decline in catches. This study is a start to bridge the gap between data and information, allowing resource managers to determine management priorities for this economically and ecologically important species in the ECS.
