Hydrogen-blended natural gas transportation can effectively solve the problem of wind and photovoltaic energy curtailment and reduction of greenhouse gas emission, and realize the low-cost transportation of hydrogen in large scale, so it becomes an important way to achieve the "double carbon" goal. However, the risk of hydrogen embrittlement will be brought by blending hydrogen to the existing natural gas pipeline system and relevant transportation facilities. Therefore, the mechanism of hydrogen embrittlement was analyzed based on the structural composition of hydrogen-blended natural gas transportation system. Meanwhile, investigation was performed for the hydrogen embrittlement of the pipelines, welds, valves, compression devices, storage units and terminals of the hydrogen-blended natural gas transportation system. On this basis, countermeasures for prevention of hydrogen embrittlement were put forward. Then, the prospect and development of hydrogen-blended natural gas transportation system were forecast. Generally, the research results could provide reference for the large-scale and market-oriented development of hydrogen-blended natural gas transportation in China, and the improvement of research and development of pipeline hydrogen transportation technology and equipment, further accelerating the safe development of hydrogen economy.

The issues of energy development management of Germany at the present stage, in the near and long term are analyzed. The sources of fuel resources typical for the country's economy are considered taking into account many criteria. Considerable attention was paid to logistical issues, the construction of terminals for receiving reduced natural gas, which will make it possible to receive it from producers from many regions of the world. It is noted that in the future, as production expands and costs decrease, it is planned to use such terminals to receive hydrogen, one of the promising types of fuel supplied to the country by sea, which is the essence of the dual logistics model. A model for the development of the German energy sector is proposed. It is shown that in the future the leading role in providing the country with energy will be played by wind and solar power plants, which have economic and environmental advantages.

The article considers the current problem to build terminals for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The paper demonstrates that projects considered in recent years have been hampered due to lack of investment and lack of demand. Due to the aggravation of the conflict in Ukraine and the desire to reduce energy dependence on natural gas supplies from Russia, these projects is necessary for Germany’s economy. We examine the criticism of the projects by environmental public organizations. The article analyzes the unprecedented speed of investment decisions in the energy infrastructure, the newly created framework conditions by the Law on accelerating the construction of LNG terminals. The article discusses that the German federal government assigns them a key role in ensuring the security of gas supplies. On the example of key locations: Brunsbüttel, Wilhelmshaven and Stade, we examine various options potential investors. We hypothesise that in the future, these projects open up Germany the possibility of global natural gas supplies without the use of pipelines and, thus, interaction with new market players. Simultaneously, although LNG volumes from terminals in neighboring European countries are also available to the German natural gas market. This paper proved that in detail the importance for ensuring the reliability of gas supply of planned domestic investments that do not depend solely on commercial benefits. Significant positive impact of gas infrastructure is only found in the context of hydrogen energy in the country.

To reduce carbon emissions, logistics companies take measures to achieve the climate neutrality target to reach "Green Logistics." As one of the valuable measures, gradually replacing present fossil fuel vehicles with electric vehicles for parcel delivery and linehaul transportation is scheduled at the terminals of logistics companies. The charging load of a fully electrified vehicle fleet challenges the terminal power system. The integrated optimization of sizing and energy management strategy is employed to design, model, optimize, and compare capacity expansion plans involving different combinations and various energy elements. These plans include upgrading the grid connection through the addition of a new transformer and incorporating renewable energy sources and/or energy storage sources. The evaluation encompasses both technical and economic considerations. The effects of different prices of electricity and components, energy management strategy, and uncertainty of power generation and load demand on the choice of optimal solutions, corresponding component sizes, and overall cost were compared and analyzed. The economic feasibility of upgrading the grid connection is demonstrated to be superior compared to utilizing energy storage sources. • The terminal electrification of a logistics company with an electric vehicle fleet • A techno-economic assessment of capacity expansion planning for the terminal • Optimal solutions with renewable energy, energy storage, and grid connection • Sensitivity and uncertainty analyses with prices, strategies, generation, and load • Specified electricity tariffs and policy support for electricity costs in Sweden [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The use of autonomous systems at wood processing sites of forest industries can significantly increase safety, productivity and efficiency by reducing the number of monotonous and dangerous tasks conducted by human labor utilizing heavy machinery. However, autonomous machine operation in mill yards is challenging because of the dynamic and complex working environment and partly unstructured processes. The inherent complexity of wood handling and storage tasks requires significant human expertise. Rapid advancements in sensor technologies and machine learning techniques, along with increases in available computational power have enabled progress in automated operation frameworks and algorithms development, which opens the door to the introduction of novel autonomous systems into this environment. With the aim of gaining a better understanding of current issues and facilitating optimal strategies for the deployment of high-level autonomous systems in mill yard environments, this study: (1) utilizes a systematic literature review to map current autonomous technologies and algorithms suitable for adoption by the forest industry in automation of vehicles working in mill yards; (2) summarizes and discusses the potential feasibility of the considered sensors, systems and adoption strategies, and considers implementation challenges for high-level autonomous machinery in mill yard environments; and (3) proposes a system framework that integrates multiple technologies to enable autonomous navigation and material handling in mill yards. The study is the first of its kind as a comprehensive study on autonomous vehicles and machinery in mill yard environments. Our novel framework aids in the identification of follow-up research areas and thus promotes the adoption and use of complex autonomous systems in industrial environments.

- Abstract
Inland port expansion requires immense investment costs often resulting in dredging and creating a new physical space for production and especially when handling Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs). A floating container terminal (FCT) is an innovation that sets out to change the landscape within what is required to handle ULCV’s. The structure can be placed out at sea where no dredging is required and comes equipped with automated cranes to handle the discharging of ULCV’s and loading of feeder vessels to bring cargo inland. The innovation acts in other words as a transhipment hub. The study sets out to understand if the floating container terminal is commercially viable from the viewpoint of the maritime logistics sector. This is best understood using grounded theory as a qualitative method. 19 semi-structured interviews with different actors of the maritime logistics sector in their field of work are utilized to collect data from which the research question is answered. The data from the interviews is then studied with the help of line by line, axial and selective coding and further analyzed through the lens of Rogers (2003) Diffusions of Innovations - Decision Model. The results show that the FCT is not commercially viable from the viewpoint of the maritime logistics sector, but that there is potential for the innovation to become commercially viable. The analysis takes the answer to the research question one step further by finding an understanding as to what can make the FCT commercially viable from the viewpoint of the maritime logistics sector with the help from the data gathered during the interviews. There are different viewpoints amongst actors given their role in a theoretical concept when handling the FCT. This ultimately changes the perception of value of the actors since they would have different roles in a reality where the FCT exists either as customers or operators. The key findings indicate that economic feasibility and efficient handling is abov

- Abstract
The ultrasonic welding technology is widely promoted as a new connection approach in the field of current energy vehicle wiring harness connection. In this paper, three kinds of 25mm2 copper wire harnesses with different wire diameters and T2 copper terminals with different surface roughness were welded by ultrasonic welding. The mechanical properties of the joints were investigated by tensile experiments and the microstructure of joints was characterised using SEM and EBSD techniques. Excessive roughness increases plastic deformation at the weld interface during ultrasonic welding. This increases the dislocation density at the weld interface and refines the grain size. However, at the same time it inhibits recrystallisation to a certain extent. The lower roughness facilitates recrystallisation, but the low density of HAGBs makes the interface susceptible to slip in extended crystallographic plane and direction. Appropriate roughness allows the weld interface to generate fine equiaxed grains and a high density of HAGBs. This facilitates the obstruction of dislocation movement and improves the strength of joint. In addition, the high porosity of a longitudinal cross-section of the conductor with its small diameter was investigated. This results in a large number of wires remaining on the terminals when force is applied. It was determined that the larger a diameter of wire, the higher a cross-sectional porosity. The copper wire breaks at a weak point in cross-section when the force is applied, resulting in the entire wire being left on terminal. At a wire diameter of 0.2 mm, the porosity of a cross-section reaches an equilibrium and the strength of joint is even higher than the strength of material itself, resulting in the joint pulling off. The maximum strength reaches 4703.77 N. © 2024

Researchers have investigated the impact of the Internet of Things on port performance in order to identify IoT applications and determine any changes that may be needed. Tangier Med Port will be able to compete better than its rivals, significantly improving its efficiency. A real-time tracking and monitoring application can be used to track vessels and containers in the first application. In addition to managing traffic or allocating priority and services to vessels moving through the port jurisdiction, information about vessels and containers can also be utilized to stack containers optimally at the port terminals. Thirdly, the Internet of Things facilitates the transition from manual to automated ports/terminals. Fourth, they can spend less time interacting with customers daily. Furthermore, the increased exchange of data will allow existing processes to be optimized. If all the likely threats can be dealt with, the aforementioned points above may have profound effects on the performance of Tangier Med Port, especially its efficiency in its principal activity, which is container activity. This development should be driven by all stakeholders of Tangier Med Port. When compared to its two main rivals, Algeciras and Valencia, Tanger Med can become the most attractive port if it encourages other parties to follow the development of the Internet of Things. Additionally, Port Tanger Med has a geographical advantage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper introduces an advisory-based time slot management system (TSMS) to control truck arrivals at seaport terminals with the aim to reduce congestion at terminal gates. A modeling framework is proposed, developed, and applied to assess the impact of a truck arrival shift for a case study in the Port of Rotterdam. This system is designed to apply control policies on truck inflow while taking the behavioral aspect of truck operating companies (TOCs) into account. Discrete choice modeling is used to infer the time-of-day preferences of TOCs for container pick-ups from the exchange of information between port and hinterland stakeholders. These preferences are used to shift truck arrivals to the off-peak period which consequently reduces the high waiting time of trucks at terminals gates. To evaluate the effectiveness of the designed TSMS, a simulation platform that resembles terminal operations has been developed using discrete-event simulation. For the allocation of trucks to a certain time of day, a choice-based stochastic assignment heuristic is designed to approximate the optimum configuration of the truck arrival shift policy experiment. The optimum truck arrival shift design shows that significant gain can be obtained even at a low shift rate., Transport and Planning, Transport and Logistics

In this paper we study terminal embeddings , in which one is given a finite metric ( X , d X ) (or a graph G = ( V , E ) ) and a subset K ⊆ X of its points are designated as terminals . The objective is to embed the metric into a normed space, while approximately preserving all distances among pairs that contain a terminal. We devise such embeddings in various settings, and conclude that even though we have to preserve ≈ | K | ⋅ | X | pairs, the distortion depends only on | K | , rather than on | X | . We also strengthen this notion, and consider embeddings that approximately preserve the distances between all pairs, but provide improved distortion for pairs containing a terminal. Surprisingly, we show that such embeddings exist in many settings, and have optimal distortion bounds both with respect to X × X and with respect to K × X . Moreover, our embeddings have implications to the areas of Approximation and Online Algorithms. In particular, [10] devised an O ˜ ( log r ) -approximation algorithm for sparsest-cut instances with r demands. Building on their framework, we provide an O ˜ ( log | K | ) - approximation for sparsest-cut instances in which each demand is incident on one of the vertices of K (aka, terminals). Since | K | ≤ r , our bound generalizes that of [10] . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
In this paper, we present an approach to transmit data from the source to the destination through a minimal path (least-cost path) in a computer network of n nodes. The motivation behind our approach is to address the problem of finding a minimal path between the source and destination. From the work we have studied, we found that a Steiner tree with bounded Steiner vertices offers a good solution. A novel algorithm to construct a Steiner tree with vertices and bounded Steiner vertices is proposed in this paper. The algorithm finds a path from each source to each destination at a minimum cost and minimum number of Steiner vertices. We propose both the sequential and parallel versions. We also conducted a comparative study of sequential and parallel versions based on time complexity, which proved that parallel implementation is more efficient than sequential. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: [18F]Fluoroethoxybenzovesamicol ([18F]FEOBV) is a radioligand for the vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT), a marker of the cholinergic system. We evaluated the quantification of [18F]FEOBV in rats in control conditions and after partial saturation of VAChT using plasma and reference tissue input models and test-retest reliability. Procedure: Ninety-minute dynamic [18F]FEOBV PET scans with arterial blood sampling were performed in control rats and rats pretreated with 10 μg/kg FEOBV. Kinetic analyses were performed using one- (1TCM) and two-tissue compartmental models (2TCM), Logan and Patlak graphical analyses with metabolite-corrected plasma input, reference tissue Patlak with cerebellum as reference tissue, standard uptake value (SUV) and SUV ratio (SUVR) using 60- or 90-min acquisition. To assess test-retest reliability, two dynamic [18F]FEOBV scans were performed 1 week apart. Results: The 1TCM did not fit the data. Time-activity curves were more reliably estimated by the irreversible than the reversible 2TCM for 60 and 90 min as the influx rate Ki showed a lower coefficient of variation (COV, 14–24 %) than the volume of distribution VT (16–108 %). Patlak graphical analysis showed a good fit to the data for both acquisition times with a COV (12–27 %) comparable to the irreversible 2TCM. For 60 min, Logan analysis performed comparably to both irreversible models (COV 14–32 %) but showed lower sensitivity to VAChT saturation. Partial saturation of VAChT did not affect model selection when using plasma input. However, poor correlations were found between irreversible 2TCM and SUV and SUVR in partially saturated VAChT states. Test-retest reliability and intraclass correlation for SUV were good. Conclusion: [18F]FEOBV is best modeled using the irreversible 2TCM or Patlak graphical analysis. SUV should only be used if blood sampling is not possible.

This paper addresses the possibilities opened by 5G in the area of Public Safety Networks, i.e., in communication networks aimed at authorities, police, civil protection, fire departments, critical infrastructures, and all of those involved in emergency and security activities. The evolution of terminals and services is presented, up to the new wearables; the associated services are also addressed, up to augmented and virtual realities, bio-metrics and body vital signs monitoring, as well as improved localisation accuracy. Technical aspects are addressed in a general perspective namely key services implementation metrics (data rates, latency, reliability, and connectivity capacity), radio interface (increased flexibility and efficiency of 4G’s) and network features (virtualisation/slicing of networks and cloud/edge architectures). The opportunities and challenges on the deployment of 5G specifically for Public Safety Networks are quite many, the former encompassing the usage of commercial networks and the leap from today’s 2G based networks to 5G ones, while the latter includes shortage of spectrum, implementation of required features and security problems. Still, the possibilities that are opened by 5G for Public Safety Networks are endless and no one can afford to be left out. info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersion

Publisher Copyright: © 2013 IEEE. With the aim of gaining a better understanding of current issues and facilitating optimal strategies for the deployment of high-level autonomous systems in mill yard environments, this study: (1) utilizes a systematicliterature review to map current autonomous technologies and algorithms suitable for adoption by the forest industry in automation of vehicles working in mill yards; (2) summarizes and discusses the potential feasibility of the considered sensors, systems and adoption strategies, and considers implementation challenges for high-level autonomous machinery in mill yard environments; and (3) proposes a system framework that integrates multiple technologies to enable autonomous navigation and material handling in mill yards. The study is the first of its kind as a comprehensive study on autonomous vehicles and machinery in mill yard environments. Our novel framework aids in the identification of follow-up research areas and thus promotes the adoption and use of complex autonomous systems in industrial environments.

The optimum truck arrival shift design shows that significant gain can be obtained even at a low shift rate.

ABSTRACT: The following work explains the different infrastructures that can be found in a port and the different port services offered to carry out operations in port. Ports are very important for the development of the economy because most of the world's goods are moved through maritime transport. But it would be useless to move those goods by sea, if the necessary infrastructures in a port did not exist that allow the loading and unloading of those goods. That is why these port facilities are so important, because without them there would hardly be a maritime transport as efficient as the one that exists today. In addition, there is a great variety of goods that arrive at the ports, which has made it necessary to build different specialized terminals for each type of cargo. Also is necessary to pay taxes to use the port infrastructure and pay different rates too for each port services that the ships need. All of this taxes depends on the Ports Authorities, and each one has his own manner to be calculated to know the total amount to pay for the use of the infrastructures and for the port services. The safety and reliability of the energy transmission system of electric vehicles (EVs) are decided by the connection reliability of the high-voltage (HV) wire harness and terminals. When the terminal and the HV wire harness are connected by the usual mechanical crimping methods such as hydraulic pressure, there are the edges and corners on the terminal, and gaps between the wire harness and terminal, which are prone to fretting corrosion and threaten the power system. In this work, an electromagnetic pulse crimping (EMPC) system has been designed and developed for joining the Cu wire harness and the Cu terminal of the EV. When the discharge voltage is 13 kV, it can deliver the discharge current of 70 kA peak value, causing the joint of the Cu terminal and the Cu HV wire harness. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) were used to analyze the microstructure and element distribution of the joint interface. A good and strong metallurgical bond was obtained at the surface of the Cu HV wire harness, the Cu terminal, and each strand of the Cu HV wire harness. There were a flat interface and a wavy interface between the Cu HV wire harness and the Cu terminal because of the gap on the field shaper.

In recent times, the imminent lack of public IPv4 addresses has attracted the attention of both research community and industry. The cellular industry has decided to combat thisproblem by using IPv6 for all new terminals. However, thesuccess of 3G network deployment will depend on the services offered to end users. Currently, almost all services reside in the public IPv4 address space, making them inaccessible to users in IPv6 networks. Thus, an intermediate translation mechanism is required. Previous studies on network address translation methods have shown that REBEKAH-IP with Port Extension (RPX) supports all types of services that can be offered to IPv6 terminals from the public IPv4 based Internet, and provides excellent scalability. However, this method suffers from an ambiguity problem which may lead to call blocking. In this paper, we present an improvement to RPX scheme in which the side effect is removed and fully scalable system. Wefirstly show the expected number of public IPv4 addressesutilization to the DNS of RPX server. This utilization is computed in terms of the probability of socket open requests from mobile terminals, the probability of call blocking and the estimated number of mobile terminals at the network initialization phase. The mathematical model is also provided as a guideline to determine the range of public IPv4 addresses allocated to an RPX gateway in a cellular network. In addition, the results are presented through a set of simulations. However, we proposed theRPX scheme to use a simple round robin scheduling algorithm is sub-optimal in terms of call blocking probability and further propose to use a priority queue algorithm to improve the scalability. In addition, we present extensive simulation results on the practical scalability of RPX with different traffic compositions to provide a guideline of the expected scalability in large-scale networks such as 3G networks.

- Abstract
This paper addresses the modeling of convective and radiative heat transfer to achieve an acceptable level of indoor temperature. The results presented were obtained in a pilot project in which an energy-efficient house was built on a site located west of Algiers. The main objective was to perform a numerical simulation to investigate how the temperature of the heat-transfer fluid circulating in the floor heating system affected the temperature of the indoor air and also how surface radiosity affected the temperature profile of the indoor air. The study employed the finite element method integrated into the Comsol Multiphysics software. The model was validated using experimental data reported in the literature for the pilothouse at the same meteorological conditions. An error of about 2.32% was apparent between the experimental and theoretical results. Results showed that the increase of the heating transfer fluid temperature from 30 to 50 degrees C produced the same temperature of about 15.1 degrees C taken at a 50 cm height inside the room. The air temperature remained stable, with an insignificant variation after 72 h of heating. Surface radiosity increased as a function of time and reached an almost constant value of 380 W center dot m(-2) after 72 h because of the stability of the air temperature by convection.

Copper alloys are widely used in electrical circuits mainly due to their electrical conductivity. In electrical circuits, solder terminals are used to provide multiple electrical connections and swage type turret terminals are preferred owing to their high reliability under dynamic environments where the electrical systems are subjected to higher vibrations and line currents, as in the case of satellite launch vehicles. Owing to high machinability, free-cutting brass is preferred in the manufacture of such small sized terminals, which will be cold worked/swaged to the printed circuit boards. Improper selection of the composition of free-cutting brass can lead to cracking of the terminals, thereby affecting the reliability of the system. This paper describes cracking of turret terminals made of free cutting brass during swaging operation. The crack propagation tendency during cold working of brass turret terminals made from different compositions is studied through optical and scanning electron microscopy. Finally, composition for obtaining crack free terminals during swaging is suggested for applications involving cold swaging. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the digitization and intellectualization of gas insulated substations (GIS), secondary device such as online monitoring digital terminals are put into the switchyard and can possibly be influenced by the transient radiation field of GIS switch operation. In order to clarify the immunity of online monitoring digital terminals to transient radiation field of GIS switch operation, and to improve the online monitoring testing project in GB/T 17626.10-2017,this paper developed a simulator for transient radiation field environment of GIS switch operation. Then, based on this experiment platform, a radiation effect experiment was conducted on the PCB-level digital component and CAN bus, which proved that the radiation field of GIS switch operation could cause strong electromagnetic interference to online monitoring digital terminal device. The research results provide a reference for improving the test platform for the access of online monitoring equipment.

The growth in container volumes over the last decades means an increase in container handling at terminals around the world. Notwithstanding the economic benefits, container handling causes additional pressure on the surrounding infrastructure and the environment. This is happening precisely at a time when environmental issues, in particular CO2 emissions, are the main concern of the energy and climate change debate. Although not specialized in the field of energy consumption, many policymakers and managers need to make decisions about reducing CO2 emission. This paper provides a six-step approach to make energy consumption (and hence CO2 emissions) easily transparent. The approach is illustrated using the energy consumption of yard lighting. It can be concluded that our first attempt to understand the energy consumption of yard lightning gives promising results that can contribute to an improved benchmark for the CEN EN 16258 standard.

Tolerance is an important element of drug addiction and provides a model for understanding neuronal plasticity. The hypothalamic-neurohypophysial system (HNS) is an established preparation in which to study the actions of alcohol. Acute application of alcohol to the rat neurohypophysis potentiates large-conductance calcium-sensitive potassium channels (BK), contributing to inhibition of hormone secretion. A cultured HNS explant from adult rat was used to explore the molecular mechanisms of BK tolerance after prolonged alcohol exposure. Ethanol tolerance was intrinsic to the HNS and consisted of: (1) decreased BK potentiation by ethanol, complete within 12 min of exposure, and (2) decreased current density, which was not complete until 24 hr after exposure, indicating that the two components of tolerance represent distinct processes. Single-channel properties were not affected by chronic exposure, suggesting that decreased current density resulted from downregulation of functional channels in the membrane. Indeed, we observed decreased immunolabeling against the BK α-subunit on the surface of tolerant terminals. Analysis using confocal microscopy revealed a reduction of BK channel clustering, likely associated with the internalization of the channel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A framework to analyze compact arrays for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) is presented. Many handheld devices require very compact arrays. Small spacings between the antennas lead to mutual coupling, which decreases the efficiency of the antennas and therefor the signal-to-noise ratio and leads to correlated signals at the antennas. Both effects are completely taken into account in this framework; thus, it allows for a fair comparison of different antenna arrays for MIMO. It is distinguished between MIMO systems for multiplex transmission or pure beamforming, which have different requirements for the antennas. Different compact array configurations, which exploit spatial, polarization, and pattern diversity, are discussed and compared. For practical purposes, it is also shown how to connect this framework to standard path-based channel models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examines the role of private off dock terminal in enhancing port efficiency in Nigeria; the purpose of the study is to examine the extent to which private off-dock terminals have contributed to the efficiency of ports in Nigeria with respect to cargo clearance and forwarding, questionnaires were administered and review has been carried out to obtain primary data collection. A total of 100 questionnaires were administered to respondents and related literatures have been used for secondary data. A survey design method was adopted for the study. The statistical tools employed in analyzing the analysis are simple percentage; tables and hypothesis were tested using chi-square. Based on the findings, private off dock terminal has not really impacted on Lagos port over the last five years based on the cargo volume handled by them. It also reveals that private off dock terminal is facing problem in its implementation in Nigeria such as the availability of railway connectivity and inadequate finance and also the inconsistencies of government policies in line with off dock operations. The findings also reveals that the cost of clearing cargo at terminal is high compared to main ports. To this end the study recommended that reductions of chargers on cargo clearance and terminal handling of cargoes should be looked into by private off dock owners, government should ensure railway connectivity form port to off dock terminals, policies should be enacted, which will ensure efficient operations of private off dock terminal in Nigeria.

Relevantan čimbenik koji utječe na razvitak prometa, turizma i gospodarskih djelatnosti u vodnom prometu su putničke luke i pripadajući terminali. Porastom prosječne veličine broda i opsega posla u vodnom prometu dolazi i do potrebe za povećanjem pomorskih luka i izgradnje bolje infrastrukture. The relevant factor that affects on the development of transport, tourism and economic activity in water transport is the passenger ports. The increase in the average size of the ship and the volume of work in water traffic results in the need to increase the maritime ports and build a better infrastructure. From the classic functional ports modern passenger terminals have been made which must satisfy the needs of both sailors and passengers and provide the space to receive large ships. Foreign vessel on cruise means a passenger ship intended rather to provide passengers with a pleasure of a journey and facilities for entertainment aboard than the transport of persons from one seaport to another. There are numerous terminals of northern Europe and Canada for the reception of cruise ships, most important are in Montreal, Vancuover, Halifax, Rostock, Southampton and others.
