To ensure the long-term stable and uninterrupted service of satellite navigation systems, the robustness and reliability of time–frequency systems are crucial. Integrity monitoring is an effective method to enhance the robustness and reliability of time–frequency systems. Time–frequency signals are fundamental for integrity monitoring, with their time differences and frequency biases serving as essential indicators. These indicators are influenced by the inherent characteristics of the time–frequency signals, as well as the links and equipment they traverse. Meanwhile, existing research primarily focuses on only monitoring the integrity of the time–frequency signals' output by the atomic clock group, neglecting the integrity monitoring of the time–frequency signals generated and distributed by the time–frequency signal generation and distribution subsystem. This paper introduces a time–frequency signal integrity monitoring algorithm based on the temperature compensation frequency bias combination model. By analyzing the characteristics of time difference measurements, constructing the temperature compensation frequency bias combination model, and extracting and monitoring noise and frequency bias features from the time difference measurements, the algorithm achieves comprehensive time–frequency signal integrity monitoring. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm can effectively detect, identify, and alert users to time–frequency signal faults. Additionally, the model and the integrity monitoring parameters developed in this paper exhibit high adaptability, making them directly applicable to the integrity monitoring of time–frequency signals across various links. Pseudo-satellite technology has excellent compatibility with the BDS satellite navigation system in terms of signal systems. It can serve as a stable and reliable positioning signal source in signal-blocking environments. User terminals can achieve continuous high-precision positioning both indoors and outdoors without any modification to the navigation module. As a result, pseudo-satellite indoor positioning has gradually emerged as a research hotspot in the field. However, due to the complex and variable indoor radio propagation environment, signal propagation is interfered with by noise, multipath, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation, etc. The geometric relation-based localization algorithm cannot be applied in indoor non-line-of-sight environments. Therefore, this paper proposes a pseudo-satellite fingerprint localization method based on the discriminative deep belief networks (DDBNs). The method acquires the model parameters of pseudo-satellite multi-carrier noise density signal strength in non-line-of-sight indoor spaces through a greedy unsupervised learning method and gradient descent-supervised learning method. It establishes a mapping relationship between the implied features of the pseudo-satellite multi-carrier noise density signal strength and indoor location, enabling pseudo-satellite fingerprint matching localization in indoor non-line-of-sight environments. In this paper, the performance of the positioning algorithm is verified in dynamic and static scenarios through numerous experiments in a laboratory environment. Compared to the commonly used localization algorithms based on fingerprint library matching, the results demonstrate that, in indoor non-line-of-sight test conditions, the system's 2D static positioning has a maximum error of less than 0.24 m, an RMSE better than 0.12 m, and a 2σ (95.4%) positioning error better than 0.19 m. For 2D dynamic positioning, the maximum error is less than 0.36 m, the average error is 0.23 m, and the 2σ positioning error is better than 0.26 m. With the increase in the number of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellites and their operating frequencies, richer observation data are provided for the tightly coupled Global Navigation Satellite System/Inertial Navigation System (GNSS/INS). In this paper, we propose an efficient and robust combined navigation scheme to address the key issues of system accuracy, robustness, and computational efficiency. The tightly combined system fuses multi-source data such as the pseudo-range, the pseudo-range rate, and dual-antenna observations from the GNSS and the horizontal attitude angle from the vertical gyro (VG) in order to realize robust navigation in a sparse satellite observation environment. In addition, to cope with the high computational load faced by the system when the satellite observation conditions are good, we propose a weighted quasi-optimal satellite selection algorithm that reduces the computational burden of the navigation system by screening the observable satellites while ensuring the accuracy of the observation data. Finally, we comprehensively evaluate the proposed system through simulation experiments. The results show that, compared with the loosely coupled navigation system, our system has a significant improvement in state estimation accuracy and still provides reliable attitude estimation in regions with poor satellite observation conditions. In addition, in comparison experiments with the optimal satellite selection algorithm, our proposed satellite selection algorithm demonstrates greater advantages in terms of computational efficiency and engineering practicability. The system time of the four major navigation satellite systems is mainly maintained by multiple high-performance atomic clocks at ground stations. This operational mode relies heavily on the support of ground stations. To enhance the high-precision autonomous timing capability of next-generation navigation satellites, it is necessary to autonomously generate a comprehensive space-based time scale on orbit and make long-term, high-precision predictions for the clock error of this time scale. In order to solve these two problems, this paper proposed a two-level satellite timing system, and used multiple time-keeping node satellites to generate a more stable space-based time scale. Then this paper used the sparse sampling Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) algorithm to improve the accuracy of clock error long-term prediction on space-based time scale. After simulation, at sampling times of 300 s, 8.64 × 104 s, and 1 × 106 s, the frequency stabilities of the spaceborne timescale reach 1.35 × 10–15, 3.37 × 10–16, and 2.81 × 10–16, respectively. When applying the improved clock error prediction algorithm, the ten-day prediction error is 3.16 × 10–10 s. Compared with those of the continuous sampling LSTM, Kalman filter, polynomial and quadratic polynomial models, the corresponding prediction accuracies are 1.72, 1.56, 1.83 and 1.36 times greater, respectively. Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) provides users with all-weather, continuous, high-precision positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services. In the operation and use of GNSS, the influence of the space environment is a factor that must be considered. For example, during geomagnetic storms, a series of changes in the Earth's magnetosphere, ionosphere, and upper atmosphere affect GNSS's positioning performance. To investigate the positioning performance of global satellite navigation systems during geomagnetic storms, this study selected three geomagnetic storm events that occurred from September to December 2023. Utilizing the global positioning system (GPS)/Beidou navigation satellite system (BDS) dual-system, kinematic precise point positioning (PPP) experiments were conducted, and the raw observational data from 100 stations worldwide was analyzed. The experimental results show that the positioning accuracy of some stations in high-latitude areas decreases significantly when using the conventional Geometry Free (GF) cycle-slip detection threshold during geomagnetic storms, which means that the GF is no longer applicable to high-precision positioning services. Meanwhile, there is no significant change in the satellite signal strengths received at the stations during the period of the decrease in positioning accuracy. Analyzing the cycle-slip rates for stations where abnormal accuracy occurred, it was observed that stations experiencing a significant decline in positioning accuracy exhibited serious cycle-slip misjudgments. To improve the kinematic PPP accuracy during magnetic storms, this paper proposes an adaptive threshold for cycle-slip detection and designs five experimental strategies. After using the GF adaptive threshold, the station positioning accuracy improved significantly. It achieved the accuracy level of the quiet period, while the cycle-slip incidence reached the average level. During magnetic storms, the ionosphere changes rapidly, and the use of the traditional GF constant threshold will cause serious cycle-slip misjudgments, which makes the dynamic accuracy in high latitude areas and some mid-latitude areas uncommon, while the use of the GF adaptive threshold can alleviate this phenomenon and improve the positioning accuracy in the high-latitude regions and some of the affected mid-latitude areas during the magnetic storms. A multi-constellation, multi-frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver is capable of simultaneously receiving signals from multiple satellite constellations across various frequency bands. This allows for increased observations, thereby enhancing navigation accuracy, continuity, effectiveness, and reliability. The spread spectrum code structures used in satellite navigation signals differ among systems. Compatible code generators are employed in multi-constellation, multi-frequency GNSS receivers to support tasks such as signal acquisition and tracking. There are three main types of spread spectrum code structures: Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR), Legendre sequences, and Memory codes. The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) released the L1-SPS (Standard Positioning Service) signal format in August 2023, which utilizes the Interleaved Z4-linear ranging code (IZ4 code) as its spread spectrum code. Currently, there is no universal code generator design compatible with the IZ4 code. In this paper, a proposed universal code generator is based on the hardware structure of the IRNSS IZ4 code generator. It achieves compatibility with all LFSR-based spread spectrum codes and enables parallel generation of multiple sets of GNSS signal spread spectrum codes, thereby improving hardware utilization efficiency. With the development and popularization of the Beidou-3 navigation satellite system (BDS-3), to ensure its unique short message function, it is necessary to integrate a radio frequency (RF) transmitting circuit with high performance in the BDS-3 terminal. As the key device in an RF transmitting circuit, the RF power amplifier (PA) largely determines the comprehensive performance of the circuit with its transmission power, efficiency, linearity, and integration. Therefore, in this paper, an L-band highly integrated PA chip compatible with 3 W and 5 W output power is designed in InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology combined with temperature-insensitive adaptive bias technology, class-F harmonic suppression technology, analog pre-distortion technology, temperature-insensitive adaptive power detection technology, and land grid array (LGA) packaging technology. Additionally, three auxiliary platforms are proposed, dedicated to the simulation and optimization of the same type of PA designs. The simulation results show that at the supply voltage of 5 V and 3.5 V, the linear gain of the PA chip reaches 39.4 dB and 38.7 dB, respectively; the output power at 1 dB compression point (P1dB) reaches 37.5 dBm and 35.1 dBm, respectively; the saturated output power (Psat) reaches 38.2 dBm and 36.2 dBm, respectively; the power added efficiency (PAE) reaches 51.7% and 48.2%, respectively; and the higher harmonic suppression ratios are less than −62 dBc and −65 dBc, respectively. The size of the PA chip is only 6 × 4 × 1 mm3. The results also show that the PA chip has high gain, high efficiency, and high linearity under both output power conditions, which has obvious advantages over similar PA chip designs and can meet the short message function of the BDS-3 terminal in various application scenarios. Present day GNSS offers a variety of signals from different satellite constellations and at various frequencies. This paper is based on the work conducted in the project SiL 2.0 and will focus on the study of multi-constellation/multi-frequency GNSS signals as received on top of construction equipment as part of the SiL 2.0 dissemination solution. This paper aims to study the impact of foliage and reflective environments on the various signals of multi-constellation GNSS with a focus on GPS and Galileo. Signal strength indicators (SSI) have been used as a measure to understand the shadowing environment around a stationary GNSS antenna mounted on an excavator. It is quite clear from the analysis that traditional GPS L2 signals, C2W and L2W, are weaker in strength than the L2C and L1 C/A signals, and this is found to be consistent for all of the GPS satellites. As an important component of autonomous intelligent systems, the research on autonomous positioning algorithms used by UAVs is of great significance. In order to resolve the problem whereby the GNSS signal is interrupted, and the visual sensor lacks sufficient feature points in complex scenes, which leads to difficulties in autonomous positioning, this paper proposes a new robust adaptive positioning algorithm that ensures the robustness and accuracy of autonomous navigation and positioning in UAVs. On the basis of the combined navigation model of vision/inertial navigation and satellite/inertial navigation, based on ESKF, a multi-source fusion model based on a federated Kalman filter is here established. Furthermore, a robust adaptive localization algorithm is proposed, which uses robust equivalent weights to estimate the sub-filters, and then uses the sub-filter state covariance to adaptively assign information sharing coefficients. After simulation experiments and dataset verification, the results show that the robust adaptive algorithm can effectively limit the impact of gross errors in observations and mathematical model deviations and can automatically update the information sharing coefficient online according to the sub-filter equivalent state covariance. Compared with the classical federated Kalman algorithm and the adaptive federated Kalman algorithm, our algorithm can meet the real-time requirements of navigation, and the accuracy of position, velocity, and attitude measurement is improved by 2–3 times. The robust adaptive localization algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively improve the reliability and accuracy of autonomous navigation systems in complex scenes. The precision of agro-technical operations is one of the main hallmarks of a modern approach to agriculture. However, ensuring the precise application of plant protection products or the performance of mechanical field operations entails significant costs for sophisticated positioning systems. This paper explores the integration of precision positioning based on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) in agriculture, particularly in fieldwork operations, seeking solutions of moderate cost with sufficient precision. This study examines the impact of GNSSs on automation and robotisation in agriculture, with a focus on intelligent agricultural guidance. It also discusses commercial devices that enable the automatic guidance of self-propelled machinery and the benefits that they provide. This paper investigates GNSS-based precision localisation devices under real field conditions. A comparison of commercial and low-cost GNSS solutions, along with the integration of satellite navigation with advanced visual odometry for improved positioning accuracy, is presented. The research demonstrates that affordable solutions based on the common differential GNSS infrastructure can be applied for accurate localisation under real field conditions. This paper studies the navigation technology of the On-Orbit Servicing Spacecraft (OSS) and proposes an overall solution for the OSS navigation system. The composition of the OSS satellite navigation simulation system and simulation supporting environment are studied. Then a new SSUKF navigation filter is proposed based on the hyper spherical distributed feature sampling point transform algorithm (SSUT) and the non-scanning Kalman filter (UKF). The numerical simulation of the OSS system is studied based on MATLAB/RTW. Finally, the SSUKF algorithm and the conventional UKF algorithm are simulated digitally. Accurate navigation is a crucial asset for safe aviation operation. The GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is set to play an always more important role in aviation but needs to cope with the risk of interference, possibly causing signal disruption and loss of navigation capability. It is crucial, therefore, to evaluate the impact of interference events on the GNSS system on board an aircraft, in order to plan countermeasures. This is currently obtained through expensive and time-consuming flight measurement campaigns. This paper shows on the other hand, a method developed to create a virtual digital twin, capable of reconstructing the entire flight scenario (including flight dynamics, actual antenna, and impact of installation on aircraft) and predicting the signal and interference reception at airborne level, with clear benefits in terms of reproducibility and easiness. Through simulations that incorporate jamming scenarios or any other interference scenarios, the effectiveness of the aircraft's satellite navigation capability in the real environment can be evaluated, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making and system enhancement. By extension, the method shown can provide the ability to predict real-life outcomes even without the need for actual flight, enabling the analysis of different antenna-aircraft configurations in a specific interference scenario. Satellite clock error is a key factor affecting the positioning accuracy of a global navigation satellite system (GNSS). In this paper, we use a gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network to construct a satellite clock bias forecasting model for the BDS-3 navigation system. In order to further improve the prediction accuracy and stability of the GRU, this paper proposes a satellite clock bias forecasting model, termed ITSSA-GRU, which combines the improved sparrow search algorithm (SSA) and the GRU, avoiding the problems of GRU's sensitivity to hyperparameters and its tendency to fall into local optimal solutions. The model improves the initialization population phase of the SSA by introducing iterative chaotic mapping and adopts an iterative update strategy based on t-step optimization to enhance the optimization ability of the SSA. Five models, namely, ITSSA-GRU, SSA-GRU, GRU, LSTM, and GM(1,1), are used to forecast the satellite clock bias data in three different types of orbits of the BDS-3 system: MEO, IGSO, and GEO. The experimental results show that, as compared with the other four models, the ITSSA-GRU model has a stronger generalization ability and forecasting effect in the clock bias forecasting of all three types of satellites. Therefore, the ITSSA-GRU model can provide a new means of improving the accuracy of navigation satellite clock bias forecasting to meet the needs of high-precision positioning. The L- and S-bands are becoming increasingly congested with the modernization of radio navigation satellite service (RNSS) systems and the development of a new satellite navigation system. In order to solve the problem of frequency band congestion, compatibility performance assessment is essential when designing a new RNSS signal. This paper proposes a three-step compatibility assessment methodology for the design of new RNSS signals and evaluates the compatibility performance of L6-band signals based on the proposed methodology. The open signals of Galileo, the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), and the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), as well as the three candidate signals of the new RNSS, are considered for the compatibility assessment. Using total electron content (TEC) from a global ionosphere map (GIM) for ionospheric delay correction is a common method of eliminating ionospheric errors in satellite navigation and positioning. On this basis, the TEC of a puncture point can be obtained by GIM grid TEC interpolation. However, in terms of grid, only few studies have analyzed the TEC value size characteristics of its four grid points, that is, the TEC difference characteristics among them. In view of this, by utilizing the GIM data from high solar-activity years (2014) and low solar-activity years (2021) provided by CODE (Center for Orbit Determination in Europe), this paper proposes the grid TEC difference as a way of analyzing TEC variation characteristics within the grid, which is conducive to exploring and analyzing the variation characteristics of the ionosphere TEC in the single-station area. The value is larger in high solar-activity years and generally small in low solar-activity years, and the value of high-latitude areas is always smaller than that of low-latitude areas. Specifically, in high solar-activity years, most of the GIM grid TEC internal differences are within 4 TECu (1 TECu = 1016 electrons m -2) in high-latitude and midlatitude regions, while only 78.17 % are in low-latitude regions. In low solar-activity years, the TEC difference values within a GIM grid are mostly less than 2 TECu, and most of them in the high and middle latitudes are within 1 TECu. The main finding of this analysis is that the grid TEC differences are small for most GIM grids, especially in the midlatitudes to high latitudes of low solar years. Seafloor geodetic observation technology is a pivotal method for capturing plate boundary earthquakes and related phenomena. Currently, this task is performed by Global Navigation Satellite System-Acoustic ranging (GNSS-A), a technique that integrates GNSS observations with acoustic ranging. This method involves measuring the round-trip travel time of an acoustic signal between a surface platform and a preinstalled seafloor station, which is then converted into a distance for positioning. While the horizontal positioning accuracy can reach the centimeter level, the vertical accuracy tends to be loser. Recent research has revealed that equipment-dependent distortion of sound waves causes problems for accurate travel time identification, leading to a decrease in vertical component accuracy. In this paper, we conducted an analysis of distortion tendencies using water tank test data and quantitatively identified differences in distortion magnitude related to instruments, angle dependence, and directional dependence attributed to the sea surface platform. We proposed a new identification algorithm, Acoustic Ambiguity Reduction (AAR) method, using a catalog of distortions for each device, and improved the observational capabilities of the vertical component. High-precision time–frequency is widely used in time measurement, satellite navigation, scientific research, and other fields. With the rapid development of optical clock technology, the fractional frequency instability and uncertainty of optical clock have reached 10−18 orders of magnitude, which is expected to contribute to generating the International Atomic Time and may even be used to redefine the "second" in the future. Therefore, the long-distance transfer of time–frequency signals between optical atomic clocks is of great significance. Free-space optical frequency transfer technology is one of the important technologies for solving the space-based optical clock comparison because of its high transfer precision and easy networking characteristics. In order to solve the long-distance space-based optical clock comparison, this paper investigates a free-space active phase noise compensation method using an Acousto-Optic Modulator (AOM), based on the traditional optical fiber phase noise compensation scheme. This new method is more flexible and scalable than the optical fiber time–frequency transfer technology. The optical frequency transfer over a 64 m free-space link is demonstrated. The fractional frequency transfer instability during free running is 9.50 × 10−16 at 1 s, and 4.44 × 10−16 at 2000 s, and the fractional frequency instability after compensation is 7.10 × 10−17 at 1 s, 3.07 × 10−19 at 2000 s, which is about 1–3 orders of magnitude better than that in free running, and provides a feasible scheme for space-based optical clock comparison. In 2020 several member states initiated at IMO forum (NCSR subcommittee) a process to create a single set of generic performance standards consolidating all existing performance standards for shipborne satellite navigation system receiver equipment without creating any new requirements. After over 4 years the resultant generic framework for GNSS/RNSS subsystems has not been adopted yet and awaits further amendments. Analysis of the proposed standards with stress on harmonization issues of the existing, IMO recognized, global and regional navigation satellite systems and the expected impact of these generic standards of satellite navigation receivers on the maritime user are presented in this paper. Positioning services based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) have been using MEO satellites designed to guarantee Earth global coverage for decades. This satellite distribution is sometimes complemented with satellites in Inclined Geosynchronous (IGSO) and Geostationary (GEO) Orbits to improve satellite visibility in particular service areas. During recent years, with the advancements and reduction in costs in the deployment of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) constellations, the opportunity of using LEO satellites for PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) solutions is being studied. This concept opens the possibility to provide high accuracy positioning overcoming the typical drawbacks of RTK (Real-Time Kinematics) or PPP (Precise Point Positioning), such as the need for ground infrastructure or long convergence times. The high velocity dynamics of the low orbits can help to cancel the effect of the ionosphere in the signals to be processed at the user level. Therefore, the introduction of LEO satellites together with the classical MEO GNSS constellations could be a solution to reduce the dependency on dense station networks. The size of the LEO constellations and the design of their orbits are key factors to improve the PPP solution. Moreover, both the accuracy and the convergence time of the PPP solution depend also on the quality of the on-board equipment of the satellite, especially on the quality of the atomic clock in terms of stability and noise, and on the quality of the orbit and clock corrections sent to the PPP users. GMV has decades of experience in both GNSS and LEO precise orbit determination (POD) fields and in high-accuracy GNSS applications for different market domains. With this experience, several analyses have been carried out to assess the achievable performance when introducing the processing of LEO signals for high accuracy positioning solutions, contributing to the overall GNSS community. To enhance the robustness of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) against malicious attacks (e.g., spoofing), the European Galileo is working on new services, like Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA), which provides authentication on the navigation bits, or Commercial Authentication Service (CAS), which aims to encrypt the spreading code chips. An assisted mode of the latter, named Assisted Commercial Authentication Service (ACAS), is currently under definition by the Galileo program. It uses the Timed Efficient Stream Loss-tolerant Authentication (TESLA) keys provided by OSNMA on the E1-B signal to re-encrypt some fragments of the encrypted E6-C signal, known as Re-Encrypted Code Sequences (RECSs), that are made available in the GNSS Service Centre (GSC). Once downloaded by a compatible receiver, they can be decrypted using the corresponding key and used to perform the correlation with the broadcasted E6-C signal. If that results in a correlation peak, the signal can be authenticated under certain circumstances. However, the probability of detecting this peak depends on the length of these fragments and their periodicity, since they are only provided for certain predefined instants. Indeed, if the receiver relies solely on E6-C signal and has no accurate time reference, this probability is severely degraded. This is why the nominal operating mode proposed for ACAS is to use the estimates provided by E1-B to reduce the uncertainty on the E6-C signal, so that the receiver can know precisely where these fragments are located. In the context of the PAULA project, we have developed a low-cost hardware platform based on bladeRF that allows acquiring both E1-B and E6-C samples synchronously. In this paper, we describe how to set up this platform and we characterise the alignment between the E1-B and E6-C estimates (code phase and Doppler frequency) using the real datasets obtained with such a platform, which is of key importance for the ACAS nominal mode. Due to the low signal power of global navigation satellite signals, the receivers are prone to radio frequency interference. Employing multi-antenna arrays is one method to mitigate such effects, by incorporating spatial processing techniques. The large size of the uniform rectangular arrays prevents their use in applications where installation space is limited. Therefore, we proposed a new approach, namely to split one full array into a number of smaller, spatially distributed, sub-arrays to reduce their size and exploit available installation spaces. This concept challenges the distribution of the local oscillator and calibration signals to the respective sub-arrays. This paper compares qualitatively different design concepts for a satellite navigation receiver with two two-element sub-arrays, installed multiple wavelengths apart from each other, in support of establishing an optimal choice for our intended applications in the automotive sector in terms of electrical performance and required hardware and software efforts. Nowadays, commercial aeronautical Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers are more and more exposed to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) threats from GNSS jammers and spoofers. On commercial aircraft GNSS, receiver outputs, in general, are integrated or cross-monitored with other navigation sensors such as IRS and DME, etc., and, in many cases, the GNSS receiver outputs are used directly by on-board aircraft systems. The advent of modernized dual-frequency and multi-constellation signals will improve the availability and integrity of GNSS receivers in the presence of RFI. To be further resilient to the various types of RFI threats, the airborne GNSS receiver will need to perform additional receiver-based detection/mitigation techniques and should be able to determine position integrity in the presence of spoofers. This paper focuses specifically on two techniques under development that will be incorporated via a field loadable software update to the GLU-2100. The first method, Receiver Autonomous Signal Authentication (RASA), and a second type of technique, Staggered Examination of Non-Trusted Receiver Information (SENTRI). The paper will provide a brief description of the RASA and SENTRI algorithms, followed by results from both simulation and real-world tests. Design methods are presented for chip pulses and a constant envelope multiplexing (CEM) scheme for a new navigation satellite system in the S band. If we assume three equal-power signals are needed to transmit, the chip pulses of at least two signals can have two or more sample magnitudes for a high CEM power efficiency. Considering a case with two dual-magnitude signals, we can find the magnitude values for a target efficiency and then design the magnitude and sign patterns. We analyze the interference for all possible chip pulse sets and sorted them according to selected priorities. We also consider spectral separation between two different signal groups for a flexible operation. Frequency-domain anti-jamming technology is a common anti-jamming method for satellite navigation receivers. 1/2 overlapping windowing can effectively solve the spectrum leakage in the frequency domain conversion process, but the traditional window function will cause the loss of signal energy. This paper proposes a window function design method with no loss of signal energy, which can effectively solve the signal energy loss caused by the window function. The feasibility of the proposed method is theoretically deduced, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and measured data. Compared with the traditional window function, the signal-to-noise ratio improvement of the method proposed in this paper is better than 0.5 dB. The frequency domain anti-jamming processing is optimized, the signal-to-noise ratio loss caused by the anti-jamming processing is reduced, and the anti-jamming performance is indirectly improved. The time maintenance accuracy of the navigation constellation determines the user positioning and timing performance. Especially in autonomous operation scenarios, the performance of navigation constellation maintenance time directly affects the duration of constellation autonomous navigation. Among them, the frequency stability of the atomic clock onboard the navigation satellite is a key factor. In order to further improve the stability of the navigation constellation time-frequency system, combined with the development of high-precision inter-satellite link measurement technology, the idea of constructing constellation-level synthetic atomic time has gradually become the development trend of major GNSS systems. This paper gives a navigation constellation time scale generation framework, and designs an improved Kalman plus weights (KPW) time scale algorithm and time-frequency steer algorithm that integrates genetic algorithms. Finally, a 30-day autonomous timekeeping simulation was carried out using the GPS precision clock data provided by CODE, when the sampling interval is 300 s, the Allan deviation of the output time scale is 5.73 × 10−14, a 71% improvement compared with the traditional KPW time scale algorithm; when the sampling interval is 1 day, the Allan deviation is 9.17 × 10−15; when the sampling interval is 1 × 106 s, the Allan deviation is 8.87 × 10−16, a 94% improvement compared with the traditional KPW time scale algorithm. The constellation-level high-precision time scale generation technology proposed in this paper can significantly improve the stability performance of navigation constellation autonomous timekeeping. Sea ice, a significant component in polar regions, plays a crucial role in climate change through its varying conditions. In Global Navigation Satellite System-Reflectometry (GNSS-R) studies, the observed surface reflectivity Γ serves as a tool to examine the physical characteristics of sea ice covers. This facilitates the large-scale estimation of first-year ice thickness using a two-layer sea ice-seawater medium model. However, it is important to note that when Sea Ice Thickness (SIT) becomes thicker, the accuracy of SIT retrieval via this two-layer model begins to decline. In this paper, we present a novel application of a spaceborne GNSS-R technique to retrieve SIT based on a three-layer model using the data from Fengyun-3E (FY-3E). Soil Moisture Ocean Salinity (SMOS) data are treated as the reference. The performance of the proposed three-layer model is evaluated against a previously established two-layer model for SIT retrieval. The analysis used the sea ice data from 2022 and 2023 with SITs less than 1.1 m. By comparing the retrieved SITs against reference values, the three-layer model achieved a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.149 m and Correlation Coefficient (r) of 0.830, while the two-layer model reported the RMSE of 0.162 m and r value of 0.789. A scheme incorporating both models yielded superior results than either individual model, with the RMSE of 0.137 m and r reaching up to 0.852. This study is the first application of FY-3E for GNSS-R SIT retrieval, combining the advantages of a two-layer model and a three-layer model and extending the precision of GNSS-R retrieval for SIT to within 1.1 m. The global community, with coordination from the United Nations, is energized to pursue the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a list of 17 important aspirations that summarize the key challenges of our era. The SDGs apply to every nation and represent an international effort to eliminate extreme poverty, ensure access to safe drinking water, strengthen food security, and produce clean and reliable energy, among other pursuits. Space technology is already being used around the world to advance progress toward the SDGs and monitor their related Indicators. This paper explores how six technologies related to space—satellite Earth observation, satellite communication, satellite navigation and positioning, human spaceflight and microgravity research, space technology transfer, and basic scientific research—are being used to realize the vision that the SDGs represent. The paper also discusses the obstacles that limit the application of these technologies for the SDGs and provides an overview of potential paths to overcome these barriers. The paper finally studies the historical and potential roles that four distinct types of entities involved in global sustainable development—governments, non- and inter-governmental organizations, entrepreneurial companies, and universities— have played or may play in the application of space technologies towards the SDGs. • Six space technology areas are shown to support the U.N. Mobile robots have been widely engaged in many fields. To obtain the precise and consistent localization of mobile robots, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is often employed. With the continuous development and modernization of GNSS, more tracked satellites can be used for multi-GNSS positioning calculation, which can improve the positioning performance and enhance accuracy. However, it also increases computational complexity. Therefore, a satellite selection method, which selects a subset from all visible satellites, is necessary. In multi-GNSS positioning, the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) is an essential metric for satellite selection. However, the traditional traversal method requires a large amount of solution resources. In this paper, we proposed an improved genetic algorithm for satellite selection. By defining the maturity factor (MF) to guide the crossover and mutation operators, the search performance is guaranteed while reducing unnecessary crossover and mutation operations, thus reducing the search time. By adopting the previous epoch optimal individual inheritance strategy, the satellite selection results of subsequent epochs under continuous epochs have been improved. In dynamic and unpredictable environments, the precise localization of first responders and rescuers is crucial for effective incident response. This paper introduces a novel approach leveraging three complementary localization modalities: visual-based, Galileo-based, and inertial-based. Each modality contributes uniquely to the final Fusion tool, facilitating seamless indoor and outdoor localization, offering a robust and accurate localization solution without reliance on pre-existing infrastructure, essential for maintaining responder safety and optimizing operational effectiveness. The visual-based localization method utilizes an RGB camera coupled with a modified implementation of the ORB-SLAM2 method, enabling operation with or without prior area scanning. The Galileo-based localization method employs a lightweight prototype equipped with a high-accuracy GNSS receiver board, tailored to meet the specific needs of first responders. The inertial-based localization method utilizes sensor fusion, primarily leveraging smartphone inertial measurement units, to predict and adjust first responders' positions incrementally, compensating for the GPS signal attenuation indoors. A comprehensive validation test involving various environmental conditions was carried out to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed fused localization tool. A Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation augmenting satellite navigation is important in the future development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). GNSS augmented by LEO constellations can improve not only the accuracy of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), but also the consistency and reliability of secure PNT system. This paper mainly analyzes the diverse demands of different PNT users for LEO augmented GNSS, including the precision demand in real-time, the availability demand in special areas, the navigation signal enhancement demand in complex electromagnetic environments, and the integrity demand with high security. Correspondingly, the possible contributions of LEO constellations to PNT performance are analyzed from multiple aspects. A particular attention is paid to the special PNT user requirements that cannot be fulfilled with existing GNSS, such as the PNT service demand in the polar regions and the onboard GNSS orbit determination demand of some LEO satellites. Reliable urban navigation using global navigation satellite system requires accurately estimating vehicle position despite measurement faults and monitoring the trustworthiness (or integrity) of the estimated location. However, reflected signals in urban areas introduce biases (or faults) in multiple measurements, while blocked signals reduce the number of available measurements, hindering robust localization and integrity monitoring. This paper presents a novel particle filter framework to address these challenges. First, a Bayesian fault-robust optimization task, formulated through a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) measurement likelihood, is integrated into the particle filter to mitigate faults in multiple measurement for enhanced positioning accuracy. Building on this, a novel test statistic leveraging the particle filter distribution and the GMM likelihood is devised to monitor the integrity of the localization by detecting errors exceeding a safe threshold. The performance of the proposed framework is demonstrated on real-world and simulated urban driving data. Our localization algorithm consistently achieves smaller positioning errors compared to existing filters under multiple faults. This paper created a flight trajectory model of five uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the geocentric coordinate system, provided the UAVs fly in the specified formation. Based on this model, equations for determining the position of a selected member of a group of UAVs were created, provided that the group communicates with each other in its telecommunications network. The simulation confirmed that if we know the exact coordinates of the four member UAVs of the group and their distances from the leader of the group, then the mean value of the error in determining its position in flight is equal to 0.044 m, and the variance is equal to 2.9 m2. We consider these errors to be methodological errors of the proposed method. Next, we checked how the error of determining the position of the group leader depends on the distance measurement errors between the individual UAVs and the group leader. The simulation confirmed that if errors in measuring the distance between individual UAVs and the group leader are from 0.01 m to 12.0 m, the mean values of group commander position determination errors range from 0.11 m to 34.6 m. The simulation result showed that to accurately determine the group commander's position, the distance measurement errors between individual UAVs and the group commander must be less than 1.9 m. The research results showed that the telemetry method can be used to determine the position of individual members of the UAV group. The advantage of this method is that it does not require the reception of signals from satellite navigation systems, which can be interfered with under certain conditions. Soil moisture (SM) is an important parameter in water cycle research. Rapid and accurate monitoring of SM is critical for hydrological and agricultural applications, such as flood detection and drought characterization. The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) uses L-band microwave signals as carriers, which are particularly sensitive to SM and suitable for monitoring it. In recent years, with the development of Global Navigation Satellite System–Reflectometry (GNSS-R) technology and data analysis methods, many studies have been conducted on GNSS-R SM monitoring, which has further enriched the research content. However, current GNSS-R SM inversion methods mainly rely on auxiliary data to reduce the impact of non-target parameters on the accuracy of inversion results, which limits the practical application and widespread promotion of GNSS-R SM monitoring. In order to promote further development in GNSS-R SM inversion research, this paper aims to comprehensively review the current status and principles of GNSS-R SM inversion methods. It also aims to identify the problems and future research directions of existing research, providing a reference for researchers. Firstly, it introduces the characteristics, usage scenarios, and research status of different GNSS-R SM observation platforms. Then, it explains the mechanisms and modeling methods of various GNSS-R SM inversion research methods. Finally, it highlights the shortcomings of existing research and proposes future research directions, including the introduction of transfer learning (TL), construction of small models based on spatiotemporal analysis and spatial feature fusion, and further promoting downscaling research. This paper realizes the evaluation and optimal decision of the spoofing effect on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) under navigation countermeasures based on the game perspective, to overcome the limitations of current relevant research findings and maintain the secure application of the GNSS and maximize its defensive benefit during countering. An evaluation system based on the perspective of the game between spoofing strategies and defense measures is created to build the benefit matrix, which can solve the limitation in building a benefit matrix (the vital element in a game) that conforms to the confrontation‐oriented GNSS spoofing properties. Based on the built benefit matrix, a method integrating the grey expert‐based system with the hybrid evolutionary method is developed to realize quantifying the matrix and further make the optimal decision stably, which can solve the uncertainties of qualitative indices during quantifying and no global optimal solution for benefit equations deduced from the quantified matrix. The two simulation results have showed that, with the positioning technology proposed in this paper, the average positioning error of the anchor node can be kept a small constant regardless of the conditions of different packet sending intervals, changing moving rates, or increasing the transmission power and changing distance. Various positioning techniques such as Wi-Fi positioning system have been proposed to use in situations where satellite navigation is unavailable. One such system, the muometric positioning system (muPS), was invented for navigation which operates in locations where even radio waves cannot reach such as underwater or underground. muPS takes advantage of a key feature of its probe, cosmic-ray muons, which travel straightforwardly at almost a speed of light in vacuum regardless of the matter they traverse. Similar to other positioning techniques, muPS is a technique to determine the position of a client's muPS receiver within the coordinate defined by reference detectors. This can be achieved either by using time-of-flight (ToF) or angle of arrival (AoA) measurements. The latter configuration (AoA), called the Vector-muPS has recently been invented and the present paper describes the developments of the first prototype of a vector muometric wireless navigation system (MuWNS-V) with this new vector-muPS concept and its demonstration. With MuWNS-V, the reference tracker and the receiver ran wirelessly with fully independent readout systems, and a positioning accuracy of 3.9 cm (RMS) has been achieved. We also evaluated the outcome of measuring continuous indoor localization of a moving receiver with this prototype. Our results indicated that further improvements in positioning accuracy will be attainable by acquiring higher angular resolution of the reference trackers. The vulnerability of civil receivers of the Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS) to spoofing jamming has raised significant concerns in recent times. Traditional multi-antenna spoofing detection methods are limited in application scenarios and come with high hardware costs. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel GNSS spoofing detection method utilizing three low-cost collinear antennas. By leveraging the collinearity information of the antennas, this method effectively constrains the observation equation, leading to improved estimation accuracy of the pointing vector. Furthermore, by employing a binary statistical detection model based on the sum of squares (SSE) between the observed value and the estimated value of the pointing vector, real-time spoofing signal detection is enabled. Simulation results confirm the efficacy of the proposed statistical model, with the error of the skewness coefficient not exceeding 0.026. Experimental results further demonstrate that the collinear antenna-based method reduces the standard deviation of the angle deviation of the pointing vector by over 55.62% in the presence of spoofing signals. This paper presents a wideband approach for L5 and S-band integer-N phase-locked loop (PLL) targeting Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) applications. A reference spur reduction technique using a G m − C filter is proposed. The reference spur is improved by 7 dB when compared with one without any G m − C filter. The wideband integer-N PLL is designed and fabricated in UMC 65-nm CMOS process. The G m − C filter block consumes 200 μ A current. The wideband voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) oscillates from 1.6 GHz to 3.2 GHz having a tuning range (TR) of 40 % , achieving a best and worst phase noise of ≈−122 dBc/Hz and ≈ − 116 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset, respectively. In recent years, the number of expected missions to the Moon has increased significantly. With limited terrestrial-based infrastructure to support this number of missions, as well as restricted visibility over intended mission areas, there is a need for space navigation system autonomy. Autonomous on-board navigation systems in the lunar environment have been the subject of study by a number of authors. Suggested systems include optical navigation, high-sensitivity Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, and navigation-linked formation flying. This paper studies the interoperable nature and fusion of proposed autonomous navigation systems that are independent of Earth infrastructure, given challenges in distance and visibility. This capability is critically important for safe and resilient mission architectures. The proposed elliptical frozen orbits of lunar navigation satellite systems will be of special interest, investigating the derivation of orbit determination by non-terrestrial sources utilizing celestial observations and inter-satellite links. The high-accuracy and high-stability space-based time system is necessary for satellite navigation systems to achieve high quality of service (QoS) on navigation and positioning in smart city applications. This paper proposes a precise and high-stability space-based time system established under the autonomous time scale of navigation satellites. The generation, maintenance, and transfer of high-precision space-based time references are researched. A centralized time comparison method based on the ALGOS algorithm conducts the two-way time comparison of the inter-satellite link. Specifically, using the relative clock difference observations of all links between satellites for a certain period of time, the clock difference, clock speed, and clock drift parameters of n − 1 stars in a constellation of n stars relative to the same reference can be estimated simultaneously. Simulations are conducted on real collected data from the Beidou navigation systems when providing services to smart cities around the world. The simulation results show the high accuracy and stability of the proposed space-based time system under the autonomous time scale reference. Moreover, the clock offset monitoring arc coverage is much higher than the satellite clock offset obtained by the direct observation of the satellite and the anchor station. This paper investigates the performance of the forthcoming lunar navigation satellite systems for estimating not only the position of an onboard receiver in a lunar inertial reference frame but also, and with a consistent accuracy, the relative position between two or more spacecraft in proximity. This could be the case of two spacecraft performing a rendezvous, of a lander released by an orbiter, or the case of the permanent relative navigation service for a formation of satellites around the Moon. The considered observables are the pseudorange and pseudorange-rate measurements provided by the upcoming lunar communication and navigation system (LCNS), expected to support lunar missions. A single-stage Kalman filter is implemented, and its performance is demonstrated through error statistics, which are then compared to what can be achieved with sequential filtering. The global navigation satellite system has achieved great success in the civil and military fields and is an important resource for space-time information services. However, spoof interference has always been one of the main threats to the application security of satellite navigation receivers. In order to further improve the application security of satellite navigation receivers, this paper focuses on the application scenarios where narrowband and spoofing interference exist at the same time, studies the problem of spoofing interference detection under mixed interference conditions, then proposes a spoofing interference detection method based on the tracking loop identification curve. This method can effectively deal with the detection of spoofing interference under the conditions of narrowband interference and, at the same time, it can effectively detect the spoofing interference of gradual deviation. Simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the spoofing interference detection method, based on the tracking loop discrimination curve. In typical jamming and spoofing scenarios, when the spoofing signal is about 7.5 m away from the real signal, the method used in this paper can achieve effective detection. To acquire an accurate location on the occasions, such as in an indoor, tunnel, and valley, where satellite navigation signals fail. The paper designs a pedestrian navigation system by using the zero velocity update procedure technology (ZUPT) and Kalman filter to reduce the location error. The measurement noise characteristic (mean and variance) of the micro electro mechanical systems gyros is unknown and time variant, but in traditional studies, it is usually thought and calculated as a constant. So the optimality of the error estimation of the Kalman filter cannot be reached. To address this question, this paper proposes the improved Sage–Husa Adaptive Kalman Filter (SHAKF) based on the index fading memory factor to realise the state estimation of the Kalman filter and navigation error correction. The advantage of improved SHAKF is it can accurately estimate the state vector when the measurement noise is unknown and time variant. To verify the validity of novel navigation methods, walking experiments under outdoor environments and indoor environments are carried out. The results of actual walking experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively reduce the pedestrian location error compared with the traditional ZUPT method. This paper presents a novel approach to automatically detect and count cars in different aerial images, which can be satellite or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images. Variations in satellite and/or UAV data make it particularly challenging to have a robust method that works properly on a variety of images. A solution based on the bag-of-words (BoW) model is explored in this paper due to its invariance characteristic and highly stable performance in object/scene categorization. Different from categorization tasks, vehicle detection needs to localize the positions of cars in images. To make BoW suitable for this purpose, we extensively improve the methodology in three aspects, namely, by introducing a recently proposed feature representation, i.e., the local steering kernel descriptor, adding spatial structure constraints, and developing an orientation aware scanning mechanism to produce detection with “one-window-one-car” results. Experiments are conducted on various aerial images with large variations, which consist of data from two public databases, e.g., the Overhead Imagery Research Data Set and Vehicle Detection in Aerial Imagery, as well as other satellite and UAV images. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. Compared with existing techniques, the proposed method is applicable to a wider range of aerial images. Navigation satellite signals have the advantages of all-day, all-weather, and global coverage, and the use of navigation signals for the detection of moving targets has significant application prospects. However, the GNSS signal is very weak, and the signal power is greatly attenuated after being scattered by the target. In order to detect the echo signal, a long integration time is required. However, the movement of the target will cause the echo signal to produce unpredictable range migration and a Doppler frequency shift, which will weaken the cumulative effect of long-term integration. This paper proposes a weak signal processing method with amplitude and phase self-correction for moving target detection in the GNSS-S radar. First, the phase consistency of the echoes of a single GNSS satellite is realized by the block expansion compression and phase differential correction method to improve the coherent accumulation gain; then, multi-star joint accumulation is carried out after the signal amplitudes of multiple satellites are corrected by the improved keystone method, so as to obtain a stable echo signal track. This method can effectively improve the integral gain of the scattering signal of the moving target and realize target detection. The simulation results and field tests show that this method can effectively improve the SNR of the GNSS-S signal and can realize the detection of small moving targets such as cars with GNSS-S radar. The susceptibility of global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) to interference significantly limits the possibility of their use. From the standpoint of possible consequences, the most dangerous interference is the so-called spoofing. Simultaneously, in most cases of GNSS use, an inertial navigation system (INS) or an attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) is also present on the board of mobile objects. In this regard, the research goal is to assess the possibility of detecting GNSS spoofing in inertial satellite navigation systems. This paper examines the method for detecting GNSS spoofing by combining a pair of commercially available GNSS receivers and antennas with an INS or AHRS. The method is based on a comparison of the double differences of GNSS carrier phase measurements performed by receivers under conditions of resolved integer ambiguity and the values of the range double differences predicted using an INS. GNSS carrier phase integer ambiguity can be resolved using a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) or AHRS data. The mathematical model of GNSS phase difference measurements and the SINS-predicted satellite range differences model are given. The proposed algorithm calculates the moving average of the residuals between the SINS-predicted satellite range double differences and the measured GNSS carrier phase double differences. The primary criterion for spoofing detection is the specified threshold excess of the moving average of the double difference residuals. Experimental studies are performed using simulation and hardware-in-the-loop simulation. The experimental results allow us to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed approach and estimate the potential characteristics of the spoofing detection algorithm based on it. Multi-Global Navigation Satellite Systems (multi-GNSS) (including GPS, BDS, Galileo, and GLONASS) provide a significant opportunity for high-quality zenith tropospheric delay estimation and its applications in meteorology. However, the performance of zenith total delay (ZTD) retrieval from single- or multi-GNSS observations is not clear, particularly from the new, fully operating BDS-3. In this paper, zenith tropospheric delay is estimated using the single-, dual-, triple-, or four-GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technique from 55 Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) stations over one year. The performance of GNSS ZTD estimation is evaluated using the International GNSS Service (IGS) standard tropospheric products, radiosonde, and the fifth-generation European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) reanalysis (ERA5). The results show that the GPS-derived ZTD time series is more consistent and reliable than those derived from BDS-only, Galileo-only, and GLONASS-only solutions. The performance of the single-GNSS ZTD solution can be enhanced with better accuracy and stability by combining multi-GNSS observations. The accuracy of the ZTD from multi-GNSS observations is improved by 13.8%, 43.8%, 27.6%, and 22.9% with respect to IGS products for the single-system solution (GPS, BDS, Galileo, and GLONASS), respectively. The ZTD from multi-GNSS observations presents higher accuracy and a significant improvement with respect to radiosonde and ERA5 data when compared to the single-system solution. A hydrogen maser is a high-precision time measurement instrument with high frequency stability and low frequency drift, which is widely used in satellite navigation, ground time keeping, frequency measurement, and other fields. An active hydrogen maser (AHM) is better than the current space passive hydrogen maser (PHM) in orbit in terms of its frequency stability and drift rate, but it has the disadvantages of large volume and weight. To further reduce the volume and weight of the circuit, this paper demonstrates a digital circuit control system based on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It uses digital temperature control, digital detectors, digital down-conversion, digital phase-locked loops, and other digital methods for temperature control, cavity auto-tuning, and crystal phase locking, which improve the integration and flexibility of the circuit system. Meanwhile, a tuning method based on hydrogen flow is proposed, which effectively solves the problem of fluctuations in hydrogen maser resonance frequency with changes in the external environment. Our experimental results show that the designed digital circuit control system meets the requirements of an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) loop and a cavity loop. Its frequency stability can reach 2.6 × 10 − 13 / 1   s and 1.4 × 10 − 15 / 10,000   s , which is close to the stability index of ground active hydrogen maser. This scheme has certain practical engineering value, and can be used in the design of hydrogen masers for next-generation space navigation satellites, deep space exploration, and space stations. Global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) are an integral part of global positioning. However, because GNSS performance is impacted by signal obscuration and the presence of multipath in urban and deep urban environments, it is not accurate, reliable, and widely available enough to be a standalone system in all environments. This creates two problems: (1) the GNSS user does not know when or where GNSS performance may be degraded and (2) the GNSS user has limited ability to mitigate these issues. No mitigation strategy exists to improve the availability of GNSSs themselves. Inertial measurement units (IMUs) and sensor fusion provide other costly methods to improve positioning performance, but most systems still rely on GNSSs for absolute position. Spirent's GNSS Foresight service aims to solve both issues. As a cloud-based solution, GNSS Foresight provides satellite and signal information, and this can be employed to support the decision-making strategy and calculations in the GNSS receiver to improve its positioning solution performance, integrity, and reliability. In this paper, GNSS Foresight is introduced, and a performance evaluation of GNSS Foresight in dense urban areas is presented. Using the data collected from two urban areas in North America, we evaluated GNSS Foresight and compared the performance of GNSS positioning solutions with and without Foresight-aided data. The comparison results show the observed improvements in GNSS receiver operation. Foresight can also be used to develop measurement engine performance enhancements in the acquisition of new satellites and the tracking/re-acquisition of current satellites using line-of-sight (LOS) satellite information. In the positional computation process, Foresight enables receivers to prioritize LOS signals over degraded non-line-of-sight (NLOS) signals, hence significantly reducing positioning errors and outperforming conventional GNSS positioning, particularly in difficult urban environments. Urban environments are characterized by a set of conditions underpinning degradation Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) signals, such as multipath and non-line of sight (NLOS) effects, negatively affecting the position and the navigation integrity during the Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) operations. Before the deployment of such uncrewed aerial platforms, a realistic simulation set-up is required, which should facilitate the identification and mitigation of the performance degradation that may appear during the actual mission. This paper presents the case study of the development of a robust Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based multi-sensor fusion framework using a federated architecture. The dataset for this development, comprising the outputs of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a monocular camera is generated in a high-fidelity simulation framework. The simulation framework is built around Spirent's GSS7000 simulator, software tools from Spirent (SimGEN and SimSENSOR) and OKTAL-SE (Sim3D), where the realism for the vision sensor data generation is provided by a photorealistic environment generated using the AirSim software with the Unreal Engine aid. To verify and validate the fusion framework a hardware in the loop (HIL) set-up has been implemented using the Pixhawk controller. The results obtained demonstrate that the presented HIL set-up is the essential component of a more robust navigation solution development framework, providing resilience under conditions of GNSS outages.
