This article reports on the criminology sessions at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) held in December 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana. A program in Criminology was offered on December 27 and December 28, 1957 as a part of the total program of the annual meeting. It was sponsored by the Society for the Advancement of Criminology, Institute for Research in Crime and Delinquency, Association for the Psychiatric Treatment of Offenders, Section K. of the AAAS. The program was arranged by Donal E. J. MacNamara, Richard Steinmetz and Robert H. Gault. The theme of the first session, Robert H. Gault presiding, was, Advances in Theoretical Criminology and Penology. Melitta Schmideberg was discussion leader and Gene Ann Condon, Rapporteur. A list of papers which were given during the session is presented here. The luncheon meeting on December 27, 1957 was presided over by Judge Morris Ploscowe. Dean Donal E. J. MacNamara gave an address on the subject, Wire Tapping--An Objective Appraisal. The theme of the afternoon session was Advances in Inter-Disciplinary Approaches to Crime and Delinquency. Herbert Bloch acted as Chairman, Dr. Negley K. Teeters as Discussion Leader, and Dr. Lois Higgins as Rapporteur.
