User generated content platform is the most promising tunnel for technopreneur writer. A lot of features can be used to write and asses the author's materials. For example, analytic dashboard or perception content analysis are powerful tools to asses the effectiveness of author's work. There are certain strategies for technopreneur authors to be considered to gain benefits from user generated content platform. Those factors are: characteristics for content, audience assessment, effectiveness of materials and profitable contents. Universities are seeking to play a key role in the research and development process. An important element in the research process is the accessibility of information resources and services provided by libraries. Postgraduate students are key producers of research in universities, and an important element in their research process is the access to information. This study examines postgraduate students' views on the access, awareness and usage in facilitating their research and their satisfaction with the sources and services currently provided. The Random Sampling technique together with a Questionnaire was used for data collection from 50 postgraduate students from Gulbarga University. The findings shows that the majority (90.1%) of respondents acknowledged the important role of library in facilitating research, and 72.5% of the respondents were satisfied with the current role being played by the libraries. However, certain areas needed to be improved such as longer opening hours for physical visits, in spite of the facilities for remote access assistance for supporting students' research. The findings will be useful to academic libraries in providing better services to postgraduate students for their research. The paper records the reasons why Post graduate students use electronic information resources are; research activity, Paper writing for publication, and referring course materials. It suggests further for an improvement in the access facilities with high Internet speed and subscription to more e-resources by the University Library. The present study also attempts to encounter different problems faced by the students during accessing e-resources.

ETDs are the Swiss-army-knife which has unearthed the shades of grey by bringing forth the until now hidden research to the forefront of the world. ETDs powered by open source software like DSpace, EPrints build up information ecosystem for effective storage and retrieval of theses and dissertations which take years of hard work to culminate. Such systems need to be evaluated as its purpose gets defeated if users find it hard to retrieve desired information from it. Webometrics involves the study of the web through which one can analyze the number of hyperlinks, type and structure of the hyperlinks, website usage and its effectiveness. The present article is an attempt to assess the performance of online portal of the national ETD repository of India by using Web Analyzer Test Score (WATS). It also highlights the status of Open Access (OA) ETD repositories with respect to other OA content like research papers, conference papers, etc. along with exploring the software used for Indian ETD Repositories. The overall score of the webometric analysis was found to be 6.4.

This paper aims to examine research practice and performance on the electronics resources in India during the year 2011 to 2020 on different parameters namely yearly research growth, relative growth rate and doubling time, forms of research, most prolific authors and Institutions, Collaborative country, degree of collaboration, and funding agency etc. The data of the current research paper about electronic resources indexed in the Scopus database have been retrieved. The records with topic search (includes Title, Abstract, Keywords and Keywords Plus) "Electronic resources" were extracted. MS Excel and VOS viewer have analyzed these data. The search result shows that a total of 1482 papers have indexed in the Scopus database during 2011-2020. The study reveals that numerous research papers have been published on electronic resources in India. 2019 is the leading (288 papers) producer of research papers," Library Philosophy and Practice" is the leading (64 papers) source of publications, Bhat, N.A, Jha, M.K and Thanuskodi, S are the prolific authors, the United States is the highest (78 Papers) collaborated country and degree of collaboration (DC) = 0.92, "Department of Science and Technology, Government of Kerala" is the highest (13 papers) funding agency for the topic electronic resources research in India. The nature of the information seeking behaviour of the teachers engaged in General Degree Colleges and Teachers' Training Colleges affiliated to West Bengal State University, India, is critically analysed in the present study. The descriptive analysis is based on well structured, close-ended questionnaires which were distributed among 450 teachers. 408 of them responded from whom 376 work in General Degree Colleges and 32 in Teachers' Training Colleges. The analysis of the data shows that teachers still depend mainly on printed documents, but a changing attitude is taking place in the current ICT environment as they also start to depend on electronic documents for meeting their information needs. This paper also explores the sources used by the teachers of both groups for research activities, focusing on the variability in the use of such sources of information. Additionally, this study reveals the attitudes of the teachers towards the services provided by the libraries. It is recommended that the college libraries are restructured with internet facilities and sufficient resources, in order to meet the information needs of the college teachers. In this context, the college librarians should provide basic software training to the users, to help them access the electronic sources.

In the context of India in general, and places where English language functions as a second language in particular, the prevalent idea that our students have to support their language learning capability through the native accent (pronunciation) structures is a myth. The paper takes up the following hypotheses: 1. Listening to BBC English or Standard English need not be the criteria for good English. 2. Speaking and appropriating the native speech is cumbersome, neo-colonial in approach. The study takes the objective of developing a learner friendly curriculum that is modeled on the basis of materials from the electronic, and other mass media in non-native contexts. It was proposed that reading all kinds of material instead of the defined, the canonized and formal text books is the pragmatic study in this direction and while writing, the learners could experiment with all kinds of Englishes around without appearing ridiculous.

This paper describes an open educational resources (OER) architecture framework that would bring significant improvements in a well-structured and systematic way to the educational practices of distance education institutions of India. The OER architecture framework is articulated with six dimensions: pedagogical, technological, managerial, academic, financial, and ethical. These dimensions are structured with the component areas of relevance: IT infrastructure services, management support systems, open content development and maintenance, online teaching-learning, and learner assessment and evaluation of the OER architecture framework. An OER knowledge and information base, including a web portal, is proposed in the form of a series of knowledge repositories. This system would not only streamline the delivery of distance education but also would enhance the quality of distance learning through the development of high quality e-content, instructional processes, course/programme content development, IT infrastructure, and network systems. Thus the proposed OER architecture framework when implemented in the distance education system (DES) of India would improve the quality of distance education and also increase its accessibility in a well-organised and structured way. Technology offers tremendous opportunities for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of education. Students, faculty and administrators now use technology extensively in their daily activities and have become technologically literate. The trend of using e-learning as learning and teaching tool is now rapidly expanding into education. Many educators and researchers have high hopes for e-learning, believing that it would provide more access to information and communication, and would ultimately lead to a new revolution in education. This paper focuses on impact of e-learning environment on the teacher effectiveness, with reference to Personal effectiveness, Teaching skill and Research and academic activities. This study intends to find the relationship between the teacher effectiveness and the selected background variables, to identify the background variables which are contributing to the impact of e-learning on teacher effectiveness and to estimate the extent of the contribution of the background variables to the impact of e-learning on teacher effectiveness. In order to measure this researcher developed a research tool to measure the teacher effectiveness. The tool was administered to 250 teachers serving in colleges of engineering and technology and university departments. The finding of the study reveals that the teacher effectiveness of the teachers on the whole is high with the assistance of e-learning environment.

This paper examines the characteristics of 462 open access (OA) journals being published in India under the green, gold and hybrid models. The sample of journals was selected from DOAJ, IndianJournal.com and Open J-Gate. Journal characteristics were measured in terms of growth, subjects, publishers, and citations under each model. While characteristics such as growth, subject, and publisher have been identified by exploring the journal's website only, the citation count of these journals has been calculated by using Google Scholar and the Indian Citation Index. The gold road is now the most popular form of OA publishing in the subcontinent. There is a great variation in the size of OA journals and in their publishers. One publisher has more than 77 journals, but 264 publishers publish a single journal only. Overall, the OA journal landscape is greatly influenced by a few key publishers and journals. While 43% of journals charge publication fees and the fees vary from as low as US$10 to as high as US$400, the highest impact factor of the gold OA journals has been noted as 0.58. The data presented here suggest that publication fees are not a major barrier to authorship within the fields of computer science, pharmacy, and medicine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to study the electronic publishing (e-publishing) trends in India, to compare the results with another study conducted in Singapore, and to identify the challenges, opportunities and problem areas faced by the publishing industry in Asia. Findings of the survey show that about one-third (35%) of the Indian and about three-quarters (74%) of the Singaporean publishers are engaged in e-publishing, with a further 20% of Indian publishers likely to start e-publishing in the next three years. A slightly higher percentage of Singaporean respondents over Indian feel that e-publishing has a bright future, but with marketing problems in the region being cited as a barrier to entering into the business. The main reasons for not introducing e-publishing in the Indian publishing houses have been lack of awareness about the new technology on the part of publishers and poor acceptability of e-publications among users. This article discusses a study aimed at evaluating the use of open access publishing by researchers and scholars in science and technology fields in India. Topics include the difficulties faced by researchers in India concerning the visibility and circulation of their published materials, the importance of the open access movement in science and technology fields due to the serial subscriptions crisis facing libraries throughout the world, and the importance of improved information and communication technology (ICT) facilities in supporting the open access publishing movement.

Introduction. Publishing research findings in open access journals is a means of enhancing visibility and consequently increasing the impact of publications. This study provides an overview of open access publishing in premier research institutes of India. Method. The publication output of each institution from 2003 to 2007 was ascertained through Scopus and the name of source journals along with the number of publications recorded. All 4232 journal titles were searched in the Directory of Open Access Journals and then using the Google search engine to find out which journals are openly accessible. Analysis. The data are tabulated and analysed in a systematic way to reveal findings in accordance with desired objectives. Results. The 17,516 research articles are contributed by the five institutions and appear in 4232 journals. The Indian Institute of Science publishes 8.26% of its research output in open access journals, All India Institute of Medical Sciences 19.37%, Baba Atomic Research Centre 4.84%, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi 3.04% and Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur 3.26%. Conclusions. The study reveals that a small portion of research publications of Indian research institutes is published in open access journals, the majority in journals of Indian origin. Electronic journals have opened up many exciting opportunities for academic and research libraries in developing countries and have emerged as a major component of their collections. This article examines the present scenario of access management of e-journals in technical university libraries of North India. The study is based on the analysis of various facilities available for providing seamless access to e-journals. Questionnaire method was used to collect the data. Comparative data of seven technical university libraries are drawn in tabular form for presenting the results. The study endeavors to gain some insights into various issues involved in managing access to e-journals viz. licensing issues; availability of infrastructure; dissemination of e-journals; methods being followed for user education and promotional activities related to e-journals.
