The synergistic relationship between water, energy, and food faces increasing challenges. Green finance as a policy tool promotes high-quality and efficient development of water, energy, and food subsystems. However, whether it can improve the synergistic relationship of "water–energy–food" (WEF) still needs to be studied. Using the panel data of 38 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) from 2013 to 2021, and network DEA and panel regression models, we study the impact of green finance on the level of synergy of "water–energy–food". The results of the study show that green finance can promote the synergy level of "water–energy–food" in the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, which was first inhibited and then promoted from 2013 to 2021. The impacts of green finance on the efficiency of the three subsystems are also characterized by a "U" shape. However, linear impacts show differences, with green finance improving the efficiency of the water subsystem but not the energy and food subsystems. The implementation of China's national strategies empowers green finance. The digital strategy, the "dual carbon" strategy, and the new urbanization strategy have increased the effectiveness of green finance in contributing to the level of water–energy–food synergy. Regional heterogeneity analysis shows that the promotion effect of green finance mainly exists in non-resource-based cities, non-main grain-producing areas, and non-cities along the South-to-North water diversion route and large cities. Improving the structure of energy consumption (ECS) through green finance and the digital economy is one of the main paths to achieving the goal of carbon neutrality. This paper explores the impact of green finance and the digital economy on the ECS of 30 regions in China from 2007 to 2022 using the Generalized method of moments(GMM) model, further analyzes its heterogeneity, and then provides a reference for the scientific development of relevant decisions. The conclusions are as follows: (1) The change in the ECS is closely related to the degree of optimization of the ECS in the previous year, and this is a process of dynamic adjustment. The level of digital economy development can improve the ECS of the country as a whole and in the eastern and central regions, while the western regions have not yet played a significant role due to the underdevelopment of the digital economy. Green finance can inhibit fossil fuel energy consumption in all regions, and it promotes cleaner, more efficient, and low-carbon energy consumption, thereby improving the ECS. However, the impact effect is the largest in the east and smaller in the west. (2) The urbanization levels of the country as a whole and that of the central and western regions show a positive correlation with the results of energy consumption. However, in the eastern region, it shows an inhibitory effect on fossil fuel energy consumption, which can optimize the ECS. The industrial structures in all regions have positive impact coefficients; the development of industry is not conducive to the optimization of the ECS. Trade openness can improve the ECS only in the eastern region; technological progress in all regions can significantly improve the ECS. Based on the background of carbon neutrality, this paper reveals that green finance and the digital economy promote cleaner, more efficient, and lower carbon energy consumption and reduce the level of energy consumption. Along with the fact that China is in a critical period of economic structural transformation, industrial structural upgrading and transformation are imminent. The empirical research in this paper mainly constructs four groups of fixed effects models. The purpose is to investigate the impact mechanisms of green finance (GF), technological innovation (TI), and industrial structure upgrading (ISU) in 11 provinces (cities) along the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) from 2011 to 2020. Based on the research method of the fixed effects model, this paper can analyze the association between GF, TI, and ISU in a more concise and intuitive way. The research conclusions mainly include the following three points. Firstly, both GF and TI are able to significantly contribute to the ISU of the YREB. Furthermore, GF can also promote TI to a certain extent. Second, TI serves as a partial intermediary in the process of GF's favorable contribution to the ISU. In other words, green finance can act as an intermediary by enhancing technological innovation capacity so as to effectively accelerate the ISU of the YREB. Thirdly, this paper finds that there exists a degree of regional heterogeneity in the process of GF and TI affecting ISU in the YREB. For one thing, GF in the eastern part of the YREB can strongly accelerate the ISU. However, there is no obvious impact effect in the central and western regions. For another, TI in the eastern part of the YREB has, likewise, contributed positively to the ISU. In comparison, TI in the central region has a clearly negative effect on the ISU while there is no significant influence effect in the western region. In conclusion, this paper innovatively integrates GF, TI, and ISU into a framework for research. This paper not only widens the theoretical research domain of industrial structure upgrading but also provides practical guidance for the restructuring and transformation of industries in the YREB. The massive CO2 emission has caused frequent occurrence of climate problems, and a typical response to climate change has reached international consensus. Digital finance and green finance, as a subversion of the traditional financial model, have become significant drivers of global carbon emissions reduction efforts. Based on the panel data, this paper profoundly compares the effects of carbon emissions reduction, mechanisms, and heterogeneous results of two forms of finance. Research finds that technology-centered digital finance focuses on suppressing carbon emissions through technological innovation, and the higher the level of regional economic is, the stronger the role of digital finance in suppressing carbon emissions through technological innovation. The concept-centered green finance focuses on carbon emissions reduction through industrial ecologization, and government-led environmental regulation plays a positive regulatory role. Although the paths of affecting carbon emissions are different, there is a natural fit between the two in terms of the essential goal of carbon emissions reduction. Based on the consideration of the differences in geographic location and financial development level, the carbon emission reduction effects of two forms of finance show apparent heterogeneity. Based on the spatial characteristics of digital finance and carbon emissions, this paper further finds that the digital finance's carbon emission reduction effects have apparent spatial spillovers. Information asymmetry is a prominent problem in the advancement of green finance, and because of the difficulty of capturing "information", research on the role of information factors in green finance has been limited. In this study, a quasi-natural experiment based on China's environmental information disclosure system in 2008 is conducted to investigate the effect of information factors on green finance. Using the panel datasets of China's 107 cities and 173 environmental protection firms from 2005 to 2015, this study, respectively, adopts the difference-in-difference (DID) method and triple difference (DDD) method to examine the effect of environmental information disclosure on regional green finance development and the utilization efficiency of green funds. According to the results, public disclosure of environmental information can promote both regional green finance development and the efficient utilization of green funds by energy-based environmental protection enterprises. Heterogeneity analysis at the regional level suggests that environmental information disclosure has a greater impact on green finance in regions with lower resource endowments and stronger environmental regulations. Heterogeneity analysis at enterprise level shows that compared to state-owned energy-based environmental firms, the efficiency of green capital utilization of non-state-owned energy-based environmental firms is more sensitive to the disclosure of environmental information. The sustainability-linked discussion has gained international importance, with the banking sector being an essential pillar of the new economy, particularly through channeling financial resources to environmentally friendly economic activities. It is, however, still unclear if ESG is profitable, both for the economy and banks. This paper aims at filling this gap by presenting, from a macroeconomic perspective, the impact of ESG efforts and the banking sector's contribution to a sustainable economy. Using panel regression models with fixed effects, the study investigates the impact of ESG factors and banking activity on economic growth. The results show a negative relationship between country-level ESG scores and economic growth, both in the short and long run, while increased financial intermediation by the banking sector, used as a proxy of potential green lending activity, does not necessarily enhance economic growth. Through delving into the interplay between the ESG score, economic development, and banking activity, this research could serve as a discussion point for economists, bankers, and policymakers when designing the economic and financial strategies for transitioning to a green economy. Sustainable agricultural progress is one of the world's greatest challenges in the twenty-first century as the global population is estimated to rise to over nine billion by 2050. Over the years, the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the African Union (AU) have sought prosperous African Policies based on sustainable agriculture and inclusive growth. Additionally, the AU has adopted the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) policy framework. Given the growing need for innovative policies and studies to reduce the negative environmental effects of agricultural development in Africa, this paper investigates the significance of green finance and digital technologies on green agricultural growth in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) from 2003 to 2018. Analysis of panel co-integration estimates indicates all variables are integrated. Using the panel-corrected standard errors estimator for long-run equilibrium co-integration assessment, the outcomes indicate mitigated green finance (MGF), internet and mobile phone use (IMU), as well as sustainable energy utilization (RE), individually and collectively exert a positive effect on agriculture, forestry and fishing value added (AVA). Additionally, panel causality estimates indicate (i) a bi-directional causality between MGF and AVA. (ii) A uni-directional causality running from IMU towards AVA without any rebound effect. For policy insights, the AU could urge member states to implement macro-policies to increase agricultural green credit to sustain food production and employment generation. Green finance (GF) is recognized as a key driver of sustainable development. While existing studies have extensively discussed the relationship between GF and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), few have explored the coupling coordination relationship between GF and SDGs. In this paper, we use data from thirty Chinese provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) from 2008–2021 to examine the degree of coupling coordination development (CCD) between GF and the SDGs systems using the CCD model. We find that most SDGs and their sub-goals exhibit a significant upward trend, except for SDG8, 14–16. GF presents a fluctuating upward trend, with a significant decline in 2010 and 2019. The CCDs between GF and SDGs and their sub-goals generally show an M-shaped upward trend in most regions, with most of them experiencing a synchronous decline in 2011–2012 and 2019. In the analysis of regional heterogeneity, the eastern region performs better in SDG8–9, the central region performs better in SDG3, 14–15, while the western region performs better in SDG7. This paper provides empirical evidence for a further in-depth understanding of the relationship between GF and SDGs, which can contribute to advancing GF development and the SDG process. Under the background of China's "double carbon" policy, determining how to use the carbon emission reduction effect of green finance is an important starting point for China to achieve stable economic development and sustainable ecological development. By integrating provincial data from the CEADS, EPS, CSMAR, and CNRDS databases from 2003 to 2021, the two-way fixed-effect models are used to empirically test how green finance can exert a carbon emission reduction effect. This study finds that green finance can significantly reduce carbon emission intensity. A mechanism analysis shows that green finance can promote green technology innovation, induce social investment, and promote the disclosure of the social responsibility information of listed companies to reduce carbon emissions, which is still valid after a series of robustness tests. A heterogeneity analysis finds that the government's environmental attention and the scale of financial industry development have heterogeneous effects on the carbon emission reduction mechanism of green finance. Both the government's environmental attention and the scale of financial industry development can induce social investment, but the government's environmental attention cannot promote the growth of green technology innovation, and the scale of financial industry development cannot promote the disclosure of the social responsibility information of listed companies. This paper broadens the research perspective of green finance to reduce carbon emissions and provides some empirical evidence and a theoretical reference to further promote the green transformation of the "two high and one surplus" industry and the sustainable development of the financial industry. China's economy has shifted to a new stage of high-quality development, which means that economic development is no longer simply pursuing the increase of quantity, but a balance of quality and quantity. High-quality economic development (HQED) has become essential for China to achieve sustainable economic and social advancement. This paper explores the influence of green finance on HQED, along with the mediating roles of green innovation and industrial structure upgrading. A fixed-effects model is employed to assess the relationship between green finance and HQED and conduct an empirical test in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) region of China. The findings reveal that green finance significantly contributes to the HQED of the BTH region, and green innovation and industrial structure upgrading have intermediary effects in this process. Based on these insights, this paper proposes several strategies to improve HQED in China, including the development of a green financial system, the promotion of green innovation, and the acceleration of industrial structure optimization and upgrading in the BTH region. Development that is eco-friendly, coordinated, sustainable, and of the highest caliber is crucial to China's modernization. Based on the Cobb–Douglas production function and environmental Kuznets curve analysis, this paper investigates the link between green finance and the reduction of carbon emissions and high-quality economic development, then puts forward the hypothesis that green finance promotes high-quality economic development, and carbon emission reduction effect is its important transmission mechanism. This paper applies the bidirectional fixed effect model to a panel dataset of 30 Chinese provinces, cities, and autonomous regions from 2008 to 2019 to conduct an empirical test. The empirical results show that: (1) Green finance has a significant role in promoting high-quality economic development, which has passed the robustness test and has regional heterogeneity. (2) The growth of green financing reduces carbon emissions, which encourages high-quality development. (3) A positive spatial spillover effect results from the promotion of green finance to high-quality economic development. Given the aforementioned findings, this paper makes policy recommendations regarding how green financing, carbon emission reduction, and high-quality economic development might work together to support green development. Green finance is significant since it is the first organized effort by the financial industry to link financial performance with a positive environmental impact. Green finance products are being developed appropriately to achieve sustainability. The present study employs a fundamental bibliometric methodology to assess the current state and progress of academic research on green finance. 1748 papers are taken for this study. Data are extracted from a scholarly database i.e., SCOPUS and for network analysis, VOSviewer software is used. The present paper is focused on six research questions. Information is gathered to examine the above research questions and network maps are applied. We examined year-wise document publications, types of documents, subject areas, most influential articles, different journal sources, co-authorship of countries, and co-occurrence of keywords of green finance. We categorized keywords into clusters and discovered new trends in green finance. The paper also highlighted the recent issues and challenges. The study has also certain limitations and it is concluded by providing implications and suggestions for future studies. Climate change has become a global issue that requires collective efforts, and green finance policies are an important way to address this problem and promote enterprise development. This paper uses listed company data and city panel data to investigate the utility and mechanisms of the influence of the development of green finance in different cities on the Green Total Factor Productivity (GTFP) of enterprises. The conclusion was that green finance can improve enterprise GTFP, which remained significant after conducting a series of robustness tests. The mechanism analysis showed that green finance can improve enterprise GTFP by promoting energy conservation and emission reduction. The heterogeneity analysis indicated that green finance has a better effect on non-state-owned enterprises, large-scale enterprises, and enterprises with weak financing constraints. It is important to explore the intrinsic mechanism of green finance's role in widening the green development space for China, in order to optimize the structure of green financial development and accelerate the construction of a modernized economic system. Taking ecological environment improvement as a new research perspective, this paper presents the impacts and mechanisms of green finance on the green development space of the economy and society through the fixed-effect model and moderating-effect model, based on panel data from 30 provinces and municipalities in China from 2011 to 2020. The findings show that green finance development in China significantly expands the green development space of the economy and society, and this conclusion did not change after robustness tests such as replacing the main variables, adjusting the study interval, and considering endogeneity. In terms of its mechanism of action, ecological environment improvement plays an important mediating and regulating role in the process of green finance, essentially magnifying the green development space of the economy and society. In terms of a heterogeneity analysis, the effect of green finance on the expansion of the green development space is the largest in the eastern region, followed by the northeastern region, and the smallest in the central and western regions. In addition, the positive effect of green finance is relatively larger in regions with a higher urbanization level, government fiscal expenditure level, foreign investment level, and advanced industrial structure. The main contribution of this paper is to the field of green development, revealing the important role of the ecological benefits of green finance, which can help to achieve high-quality sustainable development in the economy and society. From the perspective of energy consumption optimization, this paper studies the impact of green finance on carbon emissions in China. Firstly, based on the theoretical perspective, this paper explores the mechanism and path by which green finance influences carbon emissions, and analyzes the role of energy consumption in this process. Then, this paper utilizes the STIRPAT model, chain multiple mediation effect model and panel threshold model to empirically analyze the influence of green finance on carbon emissions, using provincial data from China from 2005 to 2019. The results are as follows: (1) Green finance significantly reduces carbon emissions. After accounting for potential endogeneity, this conclusion is still valid. The heterogeneity test reveals that the inhibitory effect is more remarkable in northern regions, high-carbon emission regions and energy-rich regions. (2) The results of the bootstrap test reveal that at the national level, green finance decreases carbon emissions through three paths: green technological innovation, ecological evolution of the industrial structure and green technological innovation facilitating ecological evolution of the industrial structure. Furthermore, in energy-rich regions, green finance significantly inhibits carbon emissions through all three paths, while in energy-poor regions, green finance reduces carbon emissions only through green technological innovation. (3) There is a nonlinear relationship between green finance and carbon emissions. Specifically, regardless of energy intensity or energy consumption structure, only when it is below the threshold can green finance significantly inhibit carbon emissions. China's green financial pilot policies (GFPPs) are an important start to build a green financial system in China. It is also an important part of achieving the "dual-carbon" goal. This paper calculates China's total factor energy efficiency (TFEE), analyzes the impact of GFPPs on TFEE, and explores the conduction mechanism. The results show that the relationship between GFPPs and TFEE in the pilot areas is statistically significant. The GFPP mainly improves the TFEE through the green innovation effect and the optimization of the energy structure. The GFPP has a significant effect on TFEE enhancement in eastern coastal cities, non-old traditional industrial cities, and non-resource-based cities with high initial energy. China should continue to deepen the pilot work of green finance, formulate differentiated green finance policies, and ensure green technology innovation. The construction of pilot zones for green finance reform and innovations (GFRI) is an important initiative for the Chinese government to develop a green economy. Based on 3236 A-share listed enterprises from 2011 to 2018, this paper uses the difference-in-differences method (DID) to examine whether GFRI can promote enterprise green technology innovation. The results show that GFRI can significantly enhance enterprise green technology innovation. This conclusion is still robust after the parallel trend test, PSM-DID and placebo inspection. The mechanism research shows that GFRI can relocate the internal and external financing constraints, and then promote enterprise green technology innovation. Further, heterogeneity analysis shows that GFRI's green technological innovation incentives only exist in the eastern region and non-state-owned enterprises, which not only significantly improves the total green technology patents, but also significantly improves the green invention patents and green practical patents. For the central and western regions and state-owned enterprises, GFRI can only enhance the green invention patents. From the perspective of enterprise green technology innovation, this paper assesses the implementation effect of GFRI, providing theoretical support and empirical evidence for green finance policies to serve China's green economy. Energy efficiency and energy intensity are gradually gaining attention, and it is now an important proposition to reconcile financial development, green finance, and regional energy intensity. Using Chinese mainland provincial panel data (except Tibet) from 2007 to 2019, this paper applied the spatial econometric model and the panel threshold model to investigate the effects of financial development and green finance on regional energy intensity. The paper discovered that financial development raises regional energy intensity, while green finance reduces it. Based on the panel threshold perspective, in different stages of green finance development, the effect of financial development on regional energy intensity presents an inverted U-shaped effect that first promotes and then inhibits. Meanwhile, green finance has a significant positive spatial transmission effect on regional energy intensity. Based on the spatial weight matrix reflecting regional economic relations, the increase in energy intensity has a significant negative spatial autoregressive effect on itself, and the spatial spillover effect of financial development is negligible. In the context of today's green development, it is the core task of the financial sector at all levels to enhance the utilisation of resources and to guide the high-quality development of industries, especially to channel funds originally gathered in high-pollution and energy-intensive industries to sectors with green and high-technology, to achieve the harmonious development of the economy and the resources and environment. This paper proposes a green financial text classification model based on machine learning. The model consists of four modules: the input module, the data analysis module, the data category module, and the classification module. Among them, the data analysis module and the data category module extract the data information of the input information and the green financial category information respectively, and the two types of information are finally fused by the attention mechanism to achieve the classification of green financial data in financial data. Extensive experiments are conducted on financial text datasets collected from the Internet to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed green financial text classification method. China's economy has developed rapidly since the implementation of its reform and opening-up policy. However, the long-term extensive development has also brought serious ecological problems to China. Ecological crises, such as air pollution, water pollution and land desertification occur frequently. Green finance has become a path to promote China's sustainable economic development as an economic activity to deal with climate change, improve the ecological environment and make rational use of resources. This paper will construct a spatial econometric model and coupling coordination degree model to carry out empirical research. Based on the data from 1999 to 2020, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of green finance and an economic ecology system. First, the spatial autocorrelation model is used to analyze the spatial relationship. Second, the coupling coordination degree model is used to measure the evolution of the coupling coordination relationship between green finance and economic ecology. The results show that green finance has a strong spatial agglomeration. Economic and ecological development has maintained a stable spatial positive correlation. The spatial difference of economic ecological development is more obvious than the development of green finance. The development of green finance has a significant positive role in promoting the economic and ecological development of its province. The degree of coupling and coordination of green finance and economic ecology shows an increasing trend, changing from transition type to coupling and coordination type. It shows that China's green finance can effectively promote the overall optimal development of economic ecology to a certain extent. However, no high-quality coordination was observed in the result of coupling coordination, and thus, there is still some room for progress in the development of the two. Improving the efficiency of industrial land use is of great significance to the sustainable development of cities. Based on a financial perspective, this paper studies the relationship between green finance and urban industrial land use efficiency (UILUE). First, the epsilon-based measure model was used to calculate the UILUE of 279 cities in China from 2011 to 2020, and then an empirical model is constructed to test the impact and path mechanism of green finance on UILUE. The research results show that green finance can improve the UILUE. The mediation effect test shows that the optimization of industrial structure and technological innovation are the key paths for green finance to affect UILUE. In addition, land finance inhibits the positive effect of green finance on the UILUE. This paper investigates the influence of corporate size, the degree of internationalization, profits and competitiveness on the engagement degree of green finance, according to data collected from 410 Chinese listed companies on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The results show that corporate size exerts a positive influence on green initiatives, and that the degree of internationalization, profits and corporate competitiveness of an enterprise each have a significant effect on green business activities. With the implementation of China's innovation-driven high-quality economic development strategy, green and innovation are already the key factors of economic development. Therefore, developing green industry and improving regional green innovation have attracted wide attention and are of great significance to the sustainable development of China's economy. Therefore, starting from China's provincial panel from 2012 to 2021, this paper first uses the super-efficiency relaxation data envelopment analysis model (Super-SBM) to estimate green innovation efficiency (GI) and then uses the location entropy to measure the regional agglomeration level of the new energy industry (agg). Then, the generalized estimation of moments (GMM) model is used to explore the impact of agg on GI and verify the regulatory mechanism of green finance (GF). The results are as follows: (1) agg presents a distribution of "the highest in the eastern region, followed by the central region, and the lowest in the western region", (2) agg can facilitate the improvement of GI, and in accordance with the threshold model, moderate GF will further amplify this effect. Therefore, the state and government should further promote the green finance policy, guide new energy enterprises to gather and contribute to the sustainable development of China's economy. This paper reviews the existing corporate social responsibility (CSR) content in the field of international corporate governance (ICG) and suggests specific lines of potential integration of existing theory and research on topics such as green finance, sustainability, and bottom-of-the-pyramid studies. The approach began with an extensive review of the literature in ICG culminating in a review by Aguilera et al. (2019) in which three streams of ICG research were identified. Examples of existing elements of CSR were subsumed in these dimensions, and an argument was made for more integration. CSR was not an important part of international business theory and research in the early days of the field. However, sufficient research exists now in CSR and of CSR topics in the field of international business to justify that CSR should be recognized as an important stream in ICG. This integration would be beneficial since calling attention to the development of theory and research and data availability in CSR can inform international business (IB) and ICG researchers and enable them to tackle previously under-researched issues from other disciplines and areas of the world. In this paper, green finance is incorporated into the theoretical framework of technological progress bias to investigate the internal mechanism of green finance influencing environmental technological progress bias and the cleaning of industrial structure. Quantitative analysis is carried out by parameter calibration and numerical simulation. The results show that the environmental technology progress bias has obvious path-dependent characteristics. By means of financing scale and financing cost, green finance influences the relative profit, R&D behavior choice and environmental technology progress preference of the two types of R&D firms and then influences the cleaning of industrial structure through direct productivity effect, indirect price effect and market size effect. Only when the proportion of financing scale of clean R&D departments or the interest rate subsidy exceeds a certain critical value, can green finance successfully induce the occurrence of clean technological progress and promote the cleanliness of industrial structure. However, when the proportion of financing scale or interest rate subsidy of clean R&D departments is lower than a certain critical value, the improvement effect of green finance on the output value of clean industry is offset by the effect of polluting technological progress, which is not conducive to the clean industrial structure. The paper examines the relationship between natural resource growth, green economy growth, and energy intensity levels in achieving environmentally friendly economic growth in Asian countries. It analyzes the connections among the number of natural resources, institutional capacity, trade liberalization, and foreign direct investment in China from 2010 to 2022. The study concludes that economies flourish when countries utilize organic and synthetic energy sources, and natural resources can stimulate or impede economic development. A radical adjustment in real estate policies is required to address the growing urgency of reversing environmental degradation and combating climate change. Integration of renewable energy sources, optimization of natural resource usage, and the use of novel financial instruments and investment techniques emerge as pressing needs. The research focuses on whether eco-friendly company practices are associated with long-term economic success in Asian countries. Ecological environment restoration has become an important strategy for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and green finance is indispensable to supporting industrial transformation and green innovation. It is of great importance to clarify the internal relationship between green finance and ecological resilience construction. This paper introduces the concept of resilience into the field of ecological construction and constructs an ecological resilience index system from three dimensions of "resistance-adaptability-resilience". On this basis, it focuses on the different aspects of green finance, such as green credit, green securities, green investment, green insurance, etc., and examines the role of green financial development on the ecological resilience of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The results of the study showed that (1) during the study period, the overall ecological resilience level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt improved significantly and there were significant differences in the ecological resilience of the economic belts but such spatial differences are converging; (2) green insurance has a significant positive influence on ecological resilience, while green credit, green securities, and green investment have a significant negative influence on ecological resilience; (3) green credit and green securities have a significant positive effect on the resistance to ecological resilience, green credit and green investment inhibit the adaptability of ecological resilience, and green insurance significantly improves the resilience of ecological resilience. Green financial policies should be further optimized, and innovative all-round and multi-level products and services should be provided. It is necessary to leverage social capital to promote green transformation and technological innovation in high-pollution industries. Our findings elucidate that energy transitions do not merely benefit from financial innovations but can also act as potent drivers of financial change, as evidenced by numerous recent and historical examples. At present, more and more attention is paid to the sustainable development of enterprises. In particular, in the context of frequent financial crises and COVID‐19 pandemic, how the performance of listed companies' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) affects the company's market value has attracted widespread attention. Different from existing studies, this paper takes financial performance as a mediating variable and constructs linear regression model and mediating effect model based on analyzing the relationship between ESG performance, financial performance, and company market value and their influencing mechanism. The ESG rating data of Chinese listed companies newly developed by SynTao Green Finance from 2014 to 2019 were selected for empirical test. The results show that the improvement of ESG performance of listed companies can improve the market value of the company, and the financial performance of the company presents an obvious mediating effect. At the same time, operational capacity is an important mediating way for ESG performance to affect the company's market value. Further research shows that ESG performance of state‐owned listed companies exerts a stronger mediating effect on corporate operating capacity. Achieving the ambitious climate goals established on the international agenda for boosting sustainable development involves significant financial resources. Therefore, the funds allocated by the financial system for green investments should increase globally. Against this backdrop our paper investigates the role of multilateral development banks in promoting green finance, with focus on Romania. The research results underline their engagement to combat climate change and to support sustainable development. The European Investment Bank, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation have major contributions in financing green projects in Romania in areas such as energy efficiency, green building, clean transportation, sustainable agriculture. To this end they established some partnerships with Romanian financial institutions, granted financing facilities, invested in the green bonds issued by local banks, provided technical assistance. The coupling and coordination between green finance (GF) and economic resilience (ER) are the foundation of sustainable economic development. This paper uses the panel data of 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in mainland China from 2011 to 2021 to calculate the comprehensive development level of the two systems by the entropy weight method. At the same time, we analyze the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the coupling coordination degree of the two systems by using the coupling coordination degree model, kernel density curve, spatial autocorrelation model, and Markov transition matrix. The results show that (1) the development level of ER increased steadily while that of GF fluctuated. The coupling coordination degree of the two systems shows an increasing trend. (2) The coupling coordination level of the two systems presents a spatial gradient pattern of "East > Middle > West". (3) The level of coupling coordination has an obvious spatial correlation. (4) The coupling coordination level in our country remains stable in the future, and there is a possibility of transition to a higher level. Globally, scholars and practitioners are becoming increasingly interested in determining the interaction between finance and environmental sustainability. However, a few studies have investigated and organized existing information in the context of the green finance of banks in developing countries. The purpose of our study is to find major dimensions of green finance and research gaps from a thorough evaluation of the literature. As a result, existing research on green finance in the banking industry has been evaluated in this paper with a focus on green finance and sustainable development. This study employs the content analysis method and it analyzes and summarizes a total of 53 relevant previous studies in the field of green finance. The findings of this research reveal 21 crucial dimensions of green finance in Bangladesh. The primary green finance products of Bangladeshi banks include green securities, green investments, climate finance, green insurance, green credit, green bonds and green infrastructure. The other factors include environmental performance and green economic growth, energy efficiency, green finance policy and environmental protection and the risk impact of bank policy formulation. The findings of this study will help policymakers to understand the green finance concept and its associated variables, which need to be considered when adopting and implementing green finance. Identifying the intersection between digital finance, green finance and social finance is important for promoting sustainable financial, social and environmental development. This paper suggests a link between digital finance, green finance and social finance. Using a simple conceptual model, I show that digital finance offers a smooth, efficient and seamless channel for individuals and corporations to fund social projects that deliver a social dividend, and green projects lead to a sustainable environment. Persistent economic exclusion and the high levels of natural resource depletion are alarming. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are among a few global initiatives aimed at bringing a turnaround in both of these areas of concern. Giving action to productive economic inclusion and transitioning towards a circular, regenerative economy is challenging for countries, particularly because of a lack of economic incentives. Green finance has emerged in the last few decades as a valuable mechanism that has the potential to meet this challenge. In answering the question of how to facilitate the necessary transition to a green, inclusive economy, the paper attempts to bring green finance and economic inclusion together as a possible means (like a bridge) to address economic exclusion and resource degeneration. That is the primary aim of the study, and it is investigated through an analysis of theoretical literature. The key findings include: a strong synergy exists between green finance and economic inclusion; different forms of green finance are able to facilitate economic inclusion; and green finance can be instrumental in attracting investors to fast-track SDG attainment. Paper explores the mechanisms through which investments in alternative energy projects, such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biomass, influence employment outcomes. Key factors influencing employment generation, including technological innovation, infrastructure development, policy frameworks, and market dynamics, are analyzed to understand the complex interplay between alternative energy investments and labor markets. The study highlights the potential for alternative energy investments to create diverse employment opportunities across various sectors. Furthermore, it examines the socio-economic benefits of renewable energy projects in terms of job creation, skills development and income generation. By elucidating the relationship between alternative energy investments and employment, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the transformative potential of renewable energy transition in devising strategies to maximize the socio-economic benefits of sustainable energy development. Findings show upward trend in average monthly nominal wages and salaries within the sector reflects positive growth in labor compensation, potentially influenced by factors such as rising demand for skilled labor and productivity improvements. Purpose: After almost 10 years, people wonder if green finance has been able to attain its objectives in terms of controlling climate change. Persistent global warming and climate deregulation manifested by melting glaciers, droughts and floods, are all of these determinants that have called into question the efficiency of green finance. Design/methodology/approach: Green finance is a way to support climate action through investments. It has proven that this is a viable financial instrument and that it can be used by governments and private companies to plan for the future of our planet. Findings: Based on an analysis of articles published in top international journals from 2016 to 2022, about the relationship between green technology and financial services in China, this paper aims to present an overview of green finance, its importance for the planet, its objectives and its instruments. Research limitations/implications: This study's contribution is to shed light on the aspects that may have limited its effectiveness, such as the absence of incentives, the absence of climate costs and above all the absence of finance green standards. Originality/value: The results have shown that there is still a significant gap in green finance before inclusive green growth can be achieved. Inclusive green growth. The objective of this study is to establish a decision-making algorithm for issuing green bonds by municipalities in inter-municipal cooperation in Lithuania with a focus on zero-waste projects. The research methodology comprises four parts. The first part of the research methodology corresponds to a literature review that examines the concept of inter-municipal cooperation and its development in different countries. The second part of the research methodology is dedicated to the formulation of the valuation approach for the inter-municipal cooperation possibility and approbation of it in the selected municipalities. The third part of the research methodology covers the development of the decision-making algorithm for issuing green bonds by municipalities in inter-municipal cooperation in Lithuania. The last part of the research methodology summarizes the results of the survey and proposals for its further development. The findings suggest that the selected municipalities for the valuation of inter-municipal cooperation possibility could improve municipal performance for better inter-municipal cooperation results. The results also show that a smaller municipality corresponds to moderate municipal performance, which can be expected in comparison to a larger municipality. The findings of the construction of the decision-making algorithm suggest a 12-step process for the issuance of green bonds in Lithuania. The practical implications of the study are based on the notion that findings can be applied by municipalities willing to issue green bonds, smaller municipalities having challenges finding financial sources, and municipalities in inter-municipal cooperation sharing the same goals. An original aspect of this paper is its study focus on inter-municipal cooperation valuation and the issuance of green bonds in the municipalities of a smaller country which can serve as a reference point for considering the potential issuance of green bonds in municipalities of similar size. This paper investigates the dynamic interactions between green finance, economic growth, and green energy consumption for the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) members. The econometric analysis is conducted on annual data gathered throughout 2010–2020 using different estimation techniques of the Vector Autoregressive model, causality, and co-integration approaches. The main results confirmed a positive bi-directional relationship between GDP and green energy consumption. In addition, there is a two-way relationship between the volume of green bond issuance and the use of green energy in OECD countries. The recommended practical policy recommendations are establishing a unified green bonds market among OECD member states, prioritizing green projects to support the issued green bonds, improving the financial system, and financing rural electrification and electric vehicle transition by green bonds. Green finance cooperation is an organic component of international cooperation among the globalization, but few studies focused on the status of green finance cooperation. Previous studies have confirmed the value of green finance cooperation within countries for green development, laying the foundation for initiating discussions on green finance cooperation between countries. This paper uses quantitative methods such as word frequency statistical analysis, visualization cloud map, and semantic network analysis to analyze the development process of Sino-US green finance cooperation on the basis of selected green finance cooperation texts. The results show that multi-dimensional parties in Sino-US green finance cooperation play a role in promoting the cooperation process and resolving differences in cooperation cognition. Secondly, the auxiliary elements of Sino-US green finance cooperation have achieved value mobilization and effective integration. The green innovation strategy has gradually become the key for enterprises as microeconomic entities to gain competitive advantages and adapt to complex changes in the external environment. Using the data of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2020, this paper empirically explores the impact and specific mechanism of the ownership structure of multiple major shareholders on the green innovation of enterprises. The results show that, compared with the shareholding structure of a single major shareholder, a publicly traded company with a multi-stakeholder ownership structure has a higher level of green innovation. The mechanism test shows that the equity arrangement of multiple major shareholders promotes green innovation by alleviating the fluctuation in the cash flow of the enterprise. This paper further examines the effect of regulation of multiple major shareholders on corporate green innovation and finds that green finance and the protection of intellectual property can form an effective complementary mechanism with the equity arrangement of multiple major shareholders, thereby strengthening the green innovation of enterprises. After the robustness test is carried out by the double-difference method, the two-stage instrumental variable method, and the substitution variable method, the empirical results of this paper are still valid.
