The article reports that Guangdong Province, China has decided to cut retail prices of electricity after the discovery made by the local price regulator that the state-owned power grid company operating in the province made an exceptionally high profit. The regulator also discovered that the electricity distributor's rate of return was much higher than the average level in the world. Information is presented on the problems in the operation of power enterprises in China which are not willing to take on responsibilities but always demand price increases.
