Disinfection by-products (DBPs) are prevalent contaminants in drinking water and are primarily linked to issues regarding water quality. These contaminants have been associated with various adverse health effects. Among different treatment processes, nanofiltration (NF) has demonstrated superior performance in effectively reducing the levels of DBPs compared to conventional processes and ozone-biological activated carbon (O 3 -BAC) processes. In this experiment, we systematically investigated the performance of three advanced membrane filtration treatment schemes, namely "sand filter + nanofiltration" (SF + NF), "sand filter + ozone-biological activated carbon + nanofiltration" (SF + O 3 -BAC + NF), and "ultrafiltration + nanofiltration" (UF + NF), in terms of their ability to control disinfection by-product (DBP) formation in treated water, analyzed the source and fate of DBP precursors during chlorination, and elucidated the role of precursor molecular weight distribution during membrane filtration in relation to DBP formation potential (DBPFP). The results indicated that each treatment process reduced DBPFP, as measured by trihalomethane formation potential (THMFP) and haloacetic acid formation potential (HAAFP), with the SF + O 3 -BAC + NF process being the most effective (14.27 μg/L and 14.88 μg/L), followed by the SF + NF process (21.04 μg/L and 16.29 μg/L) and the UF + NF process (26.26 μg/L and 21.75 μg/L). Tyrosine, tryptophan, and soluble microbial products were identified as the major DBP precursors during chlorination, with their fluorescence intensity decreasing gradually as water treatment progressed. Additionally, while large molecular weight organics (60–100,000 KDa) played a minor role in DBPFP, small molecular weight organics (0.2–5 KDa) were highlighted as key contributors to DBPFP, and medium molecular weight organics (5–60 KDa) could adhere to the membrane surface and reduce DBPFP. Based on these findings, the combined NF process can be reasonably selected for controlling DBP formation, with potential long-term benefits for human health. Driver distraction recognition has been studied by many researchers. However, most studies have failed to balance the efficiency and accuracy of models. In this study, a lightweight network called CaTNet is proposed. The CaTNet is a simplified framework based on the existing model ConvNeXt, which prunes redundant feature layers. And a whole new module CaT containing self-attention is introduced in tandem, both of which are combined to enhance the feature characterization. It captures long-range dependencies and retains the local inductive bias provided by the convolutional neural network (CNN). The proposed method is verified on the dataset of American University in Cairo (AUC) and the State Farm Distracted Driver Detection (SFD3) Dataset. The CaTNet achieves 94.82% and 99.91% Top-1 accuracy while the number of model parameters is only 2.832M, with 12.44 frames per second (FPS) running on Jetson Nano. HSA (human serum albumin), a most abundant protein in blood serum, plays a key role in maintaining human health. Abnormal HSA level is correlated with many diseases, and thus has been used as an essential biomarker for therapeutic monitoring and biomedical diagnosis. Development of small-molecule fluorescent probes allowing the selective and sensitive recognition of HSA in in vitro and in vivo is of fundamental importance in basic biological research as well as medical diagnosis. Herein, we reported a series of new synthesized fluorescent dyes containing D-π-A constitution, which exhibited different optical properties in solution and solid state. Among them, dye M−H−SO 3 with a hydrophilic sulfonate group at electron-acceptor part displayed selectivity for discrimination of HSA from BSA and other enzymes. Upon binding of dye M−H−SO 3 with HSA, a significant fluorescence enhancement with a turn-on ratio about 96-fold was triggered. The detection limit was estimated to be ∼ 40 nM. Studies on the interaction mechanism revealed that dye M−H−SO 3 could bind to site III of HSA with a 1:1 binding stoichiometry. Water, energy, and food are essential for human survival, and the production and consumption of these three resources are closely related. In the backdrop of limited resources and constantly expanding demand, the collaborative security of the water-energy-food nexus (WEF-nexus) is under serious threat. It is of great practical significance to study the adaptive management countermeasures of the collaborative security of the WEF-nexus in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) and to quantitatively evaluate the implementation sequence of relevant management countermeasures to improve the collaborative security and promote the sustainable development of the WEF-nexus. This study first establishes an evaluation indicator system for the collaborative security of the WEF-nexus in the YREB by utilizing the pressure-state-response (PSR) model. Then, the CRITIC and TOPSIS methods are used to determine the weight of indicators and the collaborative security level of the WEF-nexus in each province and city. The state transition matrix is determined based on the transition at the collaborative security level. Finally, based on the barrel theory to make up for shortcomings, the adaptive management countermeasures of provinces and cities with low collaborative safety levels are studied by combining the Bellman optimal equation. By comparing the expected returns of the same countermeasure in different implementation sequences and conducting quantitative research on the implementation sequence of adaptive management countermeasures, targeted policy suggestions are proposed based on regional characteristics, providing a reference for strategic decision-making of relevant resources in the YREB and improving regional WEF-nexus collaborative security. The results show that: (1) For Jiangxi, improving the water conservancy engineering regulation and storage capacity and other ways in a particular order can effectively improve the collaborative security level of nexus. (2) For Hunan, increasing the investment proportion of agriculture, forestry and water conservancy and resource exploration intensity and other means in a particular order can effectively improve the collaborative security level of the nexus. Multiple Kernel Clustering (MKC) is an effective approach for revealing nonlinear cluster structures in candidate kernels. However, existing MKC methods still face two key challenges. Firstly, the pairwise affinity in these methods is primarily determined by kernel similarity, disregarding the correlations among highly similar neighbors and resulting in redundant weight assignments and reduced clustering discriminability. Secondly, the direct utilization of affinity matrices overlooks high-order connections and introduces noise due to independent row-wise solving. To address these issues, we propose a novel local MKC method called LKRGDF. We begin by exploring affinity using the Local Kernel Reconstruction (LKR) model, reducing redundancy and enhancing clustering discriminability. Furthermore, we exploit the affinities with the Global heat kernel Diffusion (GD) procedure to capture long-range connections smoothly. The GD process acts as a low pass filter, focusing on small eigenvalues corresponding to top clusters. Finally, we integrate these smooth affinities within an auto-weighted Multiple Graph Fusion (MGF) framework to obtain a consensus graph. By assembling LKR, GD, and MGF in a sequential pipeline, our approach achieves the exploration and exploitation of local structures, gradually improving clustering performance while ensuring computational efficiency without the need for iterative steps. Extensive experiments on ten datasets demonstrate the superiority of our algorithm in terms of effectiveness and efficiency compared to state-of-the-art methods. Micro-organisms on the eggshell surface of affect the quality of the egg. Sometimes, these microbes even pose a serious threat to the health of the egg's consumer. Bacterial 16S rDNA and fungal internal transcribed spacer region were sequenced to analyze the microbial diversity on the shell surface of the eggs collected from 4 distinct regions of China: Guyuan (GY ; 1.5 million hens), Langfang (LF ; 0.1 million hens), Beihai (BH ; 1.2 million hens), and Dongguan (DG ; 0.2 million hens). The results showed a higher bacterial and fungal abundance on the eggs collected from the northern and southern China farms, respectively. The dominant bacterial phylum detected across all egg samples was Firmicutes. In addition, the shell surfaces of the DG and LF samples harbored abundant levels of Proteobacteria. The dominant fungal phyla detected across all egg samples were Ascomycota and Basidiomycota. The bacterial compositions on eggshell surfaces differed significantly across all geographic regions, and the fungal composition differed significantly between samples collected from the southern and northern farms (P < 0.05). The abundance and composition of microbial colonies on the eggshell surface varied based on their geographical location (climate and environment) and farming scale (management). Three-dimensional integrated circuit (3D-IC) technology, which involves the vertical integration of multiple chips, has effectively reduced the size of electronic devices and mitigated chip interconnection delays. However, the high integration of 3D-IC brings serious thermal management challenges, especially the heat dissipation of middle-layer or bottom-layer chips. In this study, a 3D-IC thermal management scheme named SLHP based on loop heat pipe is proposed. An SLHP featuring micropillar arrays wick is designed and manufactured, and the feasibility of the SLHP for 3D-IC thermal management is verified through visual experiment, and the influence of changing the location of hotspots and introducing a composite wick on improving the performance of the SLHP is explored. The results indicate that the SLHP operates effectively, demonstrating the capability to adapt to abrupt changes in heat flux. Moreover, the micropillar arrays wick not only provides powerful capillary force, but also larger heat exchange area in limited space. Thoughtful placement of hotspots is profitable to supply liquid fluid and minimize heat leakage from evaporator to compensation chamber. Background: The disease caused by plant pathogenic bacteria in the production, transportation, and storage of many crops has brought huge losses to agricultural production. N-acylhomoserine lactonases (AHLases) can quench quorum-sensing (QS) by hydrolyzing acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs), which makes them the promising candidates for controlling infections of QS-dependent pathogenic bacteria. Although many AHLases have been isolated and considered as a potentially effective preventive and therapeutic agents for bacterial diseases, the intrinsically poor ambient stability has seriously restricted its application. Results: Herein, we showed that a spheroid enzyme-based hybrid nanoflower (EHNF), AhlX@Ni3(PO4)2, can be easily synthesized, and it exhibited 10 times AHL (3OC8-HSL) degradation activity than that with free AhlX (a thermostable AHL lactonase). In addition, it showed intriguing stability even at the working concentration, and retained ~ 100% activity after incubation at room temperature (25 °C) for 40 days and approximately 80% activity after incubation at 60 °C for 48 h. Furthermore, it exhibited better organic solvent tolerance and long-term stability in a complicated ecological environment than that of AhlX. To reduce the cost and streamline production processes, CSA@Ni3(PO4)2, which was assembled from the crude supernatants of AhlX and Ni3(PO4)2, was synthesized. Both AhlX@Ni3(PO4)2 and CSA@Ni3(PO4)2 efficiently attenuated pathogenic bacterial infection. Conclusions: In this study, we have developed N-acylhomoserine lactonase-based hybrid nanoflowers as a novel and efficient biocontrol reagent with significant control effect, outstanding environmental adaptability and tolerance. Aim. Patients in the hemodialysis stage are prone to psychological pressure of depression and anxiety and have resistance, which affects the clinical treatment effect. Effective psychological intervention plays a very important role in improving patients' psychological pressure and patients' compliance. The aim of this study is to explore the nursing effect of psychological intervention on uremic hemodialysis patients. Methods. There were 126 uremic hemodialysis patients admitted to the hospital from August 2020 to December 2021. The patients were randomly divided into the routine nursing care group (n = 63) and psychological intervention group (n = 63). The routine nursing care group received routine nursing care for uremia hemodialysis patients. The psychological intervention group implemented psychological intervention on uremia hemodialysis patients. The methods of psychological intervention mainly include establishing a good nurse-patient relationship, popularizing hemodialysis knowledge, timely psychological counseling for patients, and organizing patient communication meetings. The treatment compliance, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) of the two groups were compared before and after nursing. SF-36 scale was used to evaluate the quality of life of patients. The incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results. The treatment compliance rate and nursing satisfaction of hemodialysis uremic patients in the psychological intervention group were significantly higher than the routine nursing care group. The SAS and SDS of hemodialysis uremia patients in the psychological intervention group were significantly lower than the routine nursing care group after psychological intervention, and SF-36 scale was significantly higher than the routine nursing group. The main complications of uremic hemodialysis patients are hypotension, hyperkalemia, internal fistula occlusion, and infection. Compared with the routine nursing care group, the incidence of complications in the psychological intervention group was significantly reduced. Conclusion. The implementation of psychological nursing intervention for uremic hemodialysis patients have a very significant effect on reducing the incidence of complications and improving anxiety, depression, treatment compliance, and the quality of life and the nursing satisfaction. Background. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) has been recognized as one of the commonest aggressive malignant tumors occurring in humans. The transforming acidic coiled-coil-containing protein 3 (TACC3) seems to be a probable prognostic marker and treatment target for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Nevertheless, there exist no reports on the association between TACC3 and immunotherapy or other therapeutic interventions in LUAD. Methods. Premised on the data accessed from The Cancer Genome Atlas- (TCGA-) LUAD, we carried out bioinformatics analysis. The TACC3 expression in LUAD was analyzed utilizing the GEPIA. A survival module was constructed to evaluate the effect of TACC3 on the survival of patients with LUAD. Logistic regression was undertaken to examine the relationship between TACC3 expression and clinical factors. Protein-protein interaction analysis was performed in the GeneMANIA database, and enrichment analysis and identification of predicted signaling pathways were performed using Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes. Additionally, the Cox regression was used to assess the clinicopathologic features linked to the overall survival in TCGA patients. Lastly, we investigated the link between TACC3 and tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs) through CIBERSORT and the "Correlation" module of GEPIA. The association between TACC3 gene expression and drug response was analyzed using the CellMiner database to predict drug sensitivity. Results. The outcomes illustrated that TACC3 was upregulated and considerably correlated with dismal prognosis in LUAD patients. Moreover, the multivariate Cox regression analysis depicted TACC3 as an independent prognostic marker in LUAD patients. It was also revealed that the expression of TACC3 was related to clinical stage (P = 0.014), age (P = 0.002), and T classification (P ≤ 0.018). Moreover, we discovered that the expression of TACC3 was considerably linked to a wide range of TIICs, especially the T cells and NK cells. Single-cell results found that TACC3 was mainly expressed in the immune cells (especially tprolif cells) and malignant cells. TACC3 gene expression was positively correlated with TMB and MSI, and TACC3 may provide a prediction of the efficacy of immunotherapy. Moreover, the correlation analysis between TACC3 gene expression and immune checkpoint gene expression revealed that TACC3 may coordinate the activities of these ICP genes in different signal transduction pathways. TACC3 is related to biological progress (BP), cellular component (CC), and molecular function (MF). The pathways involved in the interaction network involving TACC3 include nonhomologous end-joining, RNA transport, pantothenate and CoA biosynthesis, homologous recombination, and nucleotide excision repair. Furthermore, we investigated the association between the expression of TACC3 and the use of antitumor drugs, and TACC3 was positively correlated with response to most drugs. Conclusion. The findings from this research offer robust proof that the expression of TACC3 could be a prognostic marker correlated with TIICs in LUAD. Objective. To evaluate the efficacy of risk management in the nursing of critically ill patients on continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Methods. In this retrospective study, 80 critically ill patients on continuous renal replacement therapy in our hospital from February 2020 to February 2021 were recruited. They were randomly assigned to receive either the risk management treatment (risk management group) or the conventional management treatment (conventional management group) via the random number table method. Outcome measurements included the occurrence of adverse events, complications, psychological status, quality of life, treatment compliance, duration of CRRT, and nursing satisfaction. Results. Risk management treatment was associated with lower incidence of adverse events compared to conventional management treatment (P value < 0.05). The risk management group also resulted in a lower incidence of complications compared to the conventional management group (P value < 0.05). Patients who received risk management treatments demonstrated a significantly lower anxiety/depression level and a higher World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version (WHOQOL-BREF) (P value < 0.05). The risk management group resulted in more cases with high compliance and fewer cases with moderate and poor compliance (P < 0.05). Risk management was associated with more cases with a CRRT duration less than 36 hours and 36–48 hours and fewer cases with a duration longer than 48 h (X2 = 2.999, P value < 0.05). Patients who were given a risk management treatment had a higher nursing satisfaction compared to conventional management treatment (X2 = 4.501, P value < 0.05). Conclusion. Cultivated land resources are crucial to food security and economic development. Exploring the spatiotemporal pattern of cultivated land non-agriculturalization and its drivers is a prerequisite for cultivated land conservation. This paper used GlobeLand30 data to reveal the spatial and temporal pattern, the shift of the gravity center and the drivers of cultivated land non-agriculturalization by employing spatial analysis, gravity center model and the geographical detector model. The results show a dramatic increase in the non-agriculturalization of cultivated land in the period of 2010–2020 compared to 2000–2010. Spatially, the cultivated land non-agriculturalization mainly occurred in areas with high urbanization levels, such as eastern Sichuan Province and western Chongqing Municipality, while the cultivated land non-agriculturalization in other areas was small-scale and spatially scattered. Furthermore, the speed of cultivated land non-agriculturalization showed spatial unevenness, and the gravity center of cultivated land non-agriculturalization shifted towards the northeast at a distance of 123.21 km. The cultivated land non-agriculturalization was affected by GDP per capita, population density, GDP per unit of land and total retail sales of social consumer goods. The key drivers for the cultivated land non-agriculturalization in the study area were the continuous expansion of urban space and the large-scale cultivation of economic fruit trees. The government should promote small-scale machinery suitable for agricultural cultivation in the mountainous and hilly areas of Southwest China, and appropriately develop economic fruit groves and livestock farming to reduce the phenomenon of cultivated land non-foodization. Bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC), a principal and active component of edible turmeric, was previously found to have beneficial effects on metabolic diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) may benefit from its potential therapeutic use. Using a high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mouse model, we examined the effects of BDMC on renal injury and tried to determine how its associated mechanism works. A number of metabolic disorders are significantly improved by BDMC, including obesity, hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, hyperlipidemia and inflammation. Further research on renal histopathology and function showed that BDMC could repair renal pathological changes and enhance renal function. Moreover, decreased serum malondialdehyde (MDA), elevated superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and the inhibition of renal reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction revealed the alleviation of oxidative stress after BDMC administration. In addition, renal Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Keap1/Nrf2) pathway was activated in BDMC-treated mice. In this work, CuF 2 -doped 0.08 Pb(In 0.5 Nb 0.5)O 3 –0.92 Pb(Hf 0.47 Ti 0.53)O 3 (PIN–PHT + CuF 2) ceramics were prepared via traditional solid-state route using lower temperature than conventional environment. Resultant materials were found to have high Curie temperature, high mechanical quality factor and excellent piezoelectric performance. The phase composition as well as piezoelectric, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of the samples were detailedly studied, and Rayleigh's law fitting method was used to explore the piezoelectric response mechanism. Results indicate that the addition of CuF 2 makes PIN–PHT lattice shrink, the phase composition of morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) is more symmetrical, that is, the content difference between rhombohedral and tetragonal phases decreases, and both intrinsic and extrinsic contributions of piezoelectric response are improved. For CuF 2 doping content of 0.75-at%, samples sintering at 1100 °C exhibited excellent overall performance, its dielectric and piezoelectric properties at room temperature and Curie temperature reach excellent values, i.e., d 33 = 488 pC/N, T C = 348 °C, ε r = 1630, tan(δ) = 0.14%, Q m = 387, and k p = 0.6. More importantly, after depolarization at 200 °C, d 33 still remained at 460 pC/N. The combined results show CuF 2 -doped PIN–PHT ceramics can be prepared at lower temperatures as well as have lower losses and higher values of Q m. These findings indicate that PIN–PHT + CuF 2 ceramics have greater ease of production and significantly improved application prospects, particularly as a result of their high temperature stability. Melanocytes produce melanin to protect the skin from UV-B radiation. Notwithstanding, the spectrum of their functions extends far beyond their well-known role as melanin production factories. Melanocytes have been considered as sensory and computational cells. The neurotransmitters, neuropeptides, and other hormones produced by melanocytes make them part of the skin's well-orchestrated and complex neuroendocrine network, counteracting environmental stressors. Melanocytes can also actively mediate the epidermal immune response. Melanocytes are equipped with ectopic sensory systems similar to the eye and nose and can sense light and odor. The ubiquitous inner circadian rhythm controls the body's basic physiological processes. Light not only affects skin photoaging, but also regulates inner circadian rhythms and communicates with the local neuroendocrine system. Do melanocytes "see" light and play a unique role in photoentrainment of the local circadian clock system? Why, then, are melanocytes responsible for so many mysterious functions? Do these complex functional devices work to maintain homeostasis locally and throughout the body? In addition, melanocytes have also been shown to be localized in internal sites such as the inner ear, brain, and heart, locations not stimulated by sunlight. Thus, what can the observation of extracutaneous melanocytes tell us about the "secret identity" of melanocytes? While the answers to some of these intriguing questions remain to be discovered, here we summarize and weave a thread around available data to explore the established and potential roles of melanocytes in the biological communication of skin and systemic homeostasis, and elaborate on important open issues and propose ways forward. The wavelength-routed optical network on chip (WRONoC) is a promising solution for signal transmission in modern System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. Previous works do not simultaneously handle all the following four main issues for WRONoCs: 1) correlations between the topological structure and physical layout; 2) tradeoffs between the maximum insertion loss and the number of wavelengths; 3) runtime scalability of wavelength assignment scheme; and 4) a fully automated flow to generate predictable designs. As a result, their insertion loss estimation is inaccurate, their wavelength assignment is inefficient, and thus, only suboptimal results are obtained. To remedy these disadvantages, we present a fully automated topological structure and a physical layout co-design flow with improved wavelength assignment schemes to minimize the maximum insertion loss and the laser power simultaneously with a significant speedup. Grid remapping is one of the most fundamental functions in Earth simulation systems, and is essentially a kind of data interpolation. The key to an efficient interpolation method is how to quickly find the relevant grid points required for interpolation. With the rise of unstructured grid models, the demand for general and efficient interpolation search algorithms is becoming stronger and stronger. KD (K-dimensional) tree has proven to be effective in dealing with unstructured grids. However, it is unable to tackle the cyclic boundary conditions in Earth simulation systems, which restricts the application of KD tree. Taking the nearest neighbor search as an example, this paper introduces two new KD tree-based multi-dimensional data search methods, which break through the limitations of the original method with regards to the cyclic boundary. One method is based on target points duplication, and the other method is based on source points duplication. Their time complexity and space complexity are analyzed and verified by carefully designed experiments. The results show that the method based on target points duplication generally performs better than that based on source points duplication when the data are basically evenly distributed. Four new combinations are proposed: A. eous (Semenov, 1935) comb. nov., A. elminus (Li & Wu, 2003) comb. nov., A. ulmusvorus (Yang, 1996) comb. nov. and A. malaisei (Gussakovskij, 1947) comb. nov., all from Agenocimbex. The 12 known species of Asicimbex are separated into two species groups. Asicimbex stands between Agenocimbex Rohwer 1910 and Cimbex Olivier 1791. The differences between Asicimbex and Cimbex, Asicimbex and Palaeocimbex are discussed in detail. Descriptions, remarks, illustrations, a key to the known species of Asicimbex and a key to genera of Cimbicinae are provided. A. malaisei is confirmed as a valid species and recorded from China for the first time, with the female described for the first time. The distribution of the genus is also briefly discussed. Background. Safflower is an annual herb used in traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It consists of the dried flowers of the Compositae plant safflower. It is found in the central inland areas of Asia and is widely cultivated throughout the country. Its resistance to cold weather and droughts and its tolerance and adaptability to salts and alkalis are strong. Safflower has the effect of activating blood circulation, dispersing blood stasis, and relieving pain. A natural pigment named safflower yellow (SY) can be extracted from safflower petals. Chemically, SY is a water-soluble flavonoid and the main active ingredient of safflower. The main chemical constituents, pharmacological properties, and clinical applications of SY are reviewed in this paper, thereby providing a reference for the use of safflower in preventing and treating human diseases. Methods. The literature published in recent years was reviewed, and the main chemical components of SY were identified based on chemical formula and structure. The pharmacological properties of hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA), SYA, SYB, and anhydrosafflor yellow B (AHSYB) were reviewed. Results. The main chemical constituents of SY included HSYA, SYA, SYB, and AHSYB. These ingredients have a wide range of pharmacological activities. SY has protective effects on the heart, kidneys, liver, nerves, lungs, and brain. Moreover, its effects include, but are not limited to, improving cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, abirritation, regulating lipids, and treating cancer and diabetic complications. HSYA is widely recognised as an effective ingredient to treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Conclusion. Objective. To analyze the mechanism of LINC00461 regulating the recurrence of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) through microRNA (miR)-411-5p/BCL2 interacting protein 3 (BNIP3) pathway. Methods. DLBCL samples in TCGA and GSE12453 were used for differential analysis to find long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) related to DLBCL recurrence. The 4 DLBCL data with the highest and lowest expression levels of LINC00461 in the TCGA database were selected for GSEA enrichment analysis. The targeting relationships of miR-411-5p with LINC00461 and BNIP3 were verified by the dual luciferase report. Blood samples from DLBCL patients were used to analyze the correlation between miR-411-5p and LINC00461 or BNIP3. LINC00461, miR-411-5p, or BNIP3 was overexpressed or silenced by transfection, and a tumor-bearing nude mice model was constructed to detect their effects on proliferation and apoptosis. Results. The level of LINC00461 in DLBCL was significantly higher than that in normal cases, and the level in recurrence DLBCL was significantly higher than that in nonrecurrence. The enrichment analysis results showed that the function of LINC00461 was closely related to apoptosis. The results shown that miR-411-5p bound to LINC00461 and BNIP3 and was negatively correlated with LINC00461 and BNIP3 mRNA in blood of DLBCL patients. Suppressing the level of LINC00461 inhibited cell proliferation and induced apoptosis. The inhibition of LINC00461 or overexpression of miR-411-5p reduced the expression of BNIP3 protein, thereby inducing apoptosis at the in vivo and in vitro levels. Conclusion. LINC00461 may induce miR-411-5p to "sponge," thereby increasing the expression of BNIP3 protein, and exerting the function of inhibiting apoptosis and promoting DLBCL recurrence. Background: Targeted therapy has revolutionized the treatment of patients with malignancies harboring mutations in driver genes and has brought a favorable survival benefit to the population with actionable oncogenic mutations. In recent years, the MET exon14 skipping mutation has been recognized as a potentially promising therapeutic target in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These changes are mutually exclusive with molecular drivers such as EGFR, KRAS, HER-2, BRAF, ALK and ROS1. The prevalence rate of coexisting MET exon 14 mutations and EGFR sensitive mutations (L858R, exon 19 deletions) in Chinese population was reported to be 0.2% (3/1590). However, the coexistence of MET exon 14 mutations with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations has never been reported and the management of this subtype is not identified. Case presentation: A 69-year-old male with a right lung adenocarcinoma (T4N2M0, IIIB) was confirmed to be positive for MET exon 14 skipping (c.3028_3028+1delGGinsTT, 44.4%), MET amplification (copy number 4.4), and EGFR exon 20 insertion (p. N771_H773dup, 22.1%) mutations. After the progression of one cycle of chemotherapy (Pemetrexed 0.8 g d1), the patient was subsequently accepted treatment with Crizotinib (250 mg twice a day) and achieved an important clinical remission for six months until the development of brain metastases. Then, he was submitted to a cycle of anti-programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) therapy after failure of Crizotinib and eventually acquired resistance despite of the high expression of programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) and tumor mutational burden (TMB) status. Conclusion: This case report provides treatment strategies for epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs)-untreated lung adenocarcinoma patients simultaneously carrying MET alterations and EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations. [Display omitted] Transition metals with catalytic properties were expected to improve the fire resistance of the polymer. In this work, NiMoO 4 nanorods decorated with Co-Ni layered double hydroxide (LDH) were fabricated and incorporated into polyurea (PUA) to improve the flame retardancy during combustion. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that the addition of NiMoO 4 @Co-Ni LDH slightly decreased the initial degradation and the maximum degradation temperature. With increasing loading of NiMoO 4 @Co-Ni LDH, the char residue increased obviously. The combustion performance of PUA with 3.0 wt% NiMoO 4 @Co-Ni LDH investigated by cone calorimeter (CCT) showed that the peak heat release rate (PHRR), total heat release (THR) and smoke factor (SF) decreased by 34.41%, 12.68% and 48.65%, respectively. Introduction: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has made a serious public health threat worldwide. Recent evidence has indicated that COVID-19 patients in convalescence frequently experience insomnia, which reduces their quality of life and causes unknown risks. The positive effect of cognitive behavior on insomnia has been well addressed in previous studies. Given the high infectivity and epidemicity of COVID-19, Internet-delivered intervention may be safer than face-to-face treatment. However, whether Internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively improve the insomnia of COVID-19 patients in convalescence has not been completely determined yet. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis and systematic review to evaluate the effects of Internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy on insomnia in COVID-19 patients in convalescence, with the aim to confer some guidance for its clinical application. Methods and analysis: This systematic review and meta-analysis has been registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO). Two researchers will retrieve the relevant literature on Internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in convalescent patients with COVID-19 in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Clinical Trials gov, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from inception to 11th of December. In addition, we will review the relevant trials and references of the included literature and manually searched the grey literature. The two researchers will independently extracted data and information and evaluated the quality of the included literature. The Review Manager software (version 5.3) and Stata software (version 14.0) will be used for data analysis. The mean difference or the standardized mean difference of 95% CI will be used to calculate continuous variables to synthesize the data. Dendrobium sinense, an endemic medicinal herb in Hainan Island, is rich in bibenzyls. However, the key rate-limited enzyme involved in bibenzyl biosynthesis has yet to be identified in D. sinense. In this study, to explore whether there is a significant difference between the D. sinense tissues, the total contents of bibenzyls were determined in roots, pseudobulbs, and leaves. The results indicated that roots had higher bibenzyl content than pseudobulbs and leaves. Subsequently, transcriptomic sequencings were conducted to excavate the genes encoding type III polyketide synthase (PKS). A total of six D. sinense PKS (DsPKS) genes were identified according to gene function annotation. Phylogenetic analysis classified the type III DsPKS genes into three groups. Importantly, the c93636.graph_c0 was clustered into bibenzyl synthase (BBS) group, named as D. sinense BBS (DsBBS). The expression analysis by FPKM and RT-qPCR indicated that DsBBS showed the highest expression levels in roots, displaying a positive correlation with bibenzyl contents in different tissues. Thus, the recombinant DsBBS-HisTag protein was constructed and expressed to study its catalytic activity. The molecular weight of the recombinant protein was verified to be approximately 45 kDa. Enzyme activity analysis indicated that the recombinant DsBBS-HisTag protein could use 4-coumaryol-CoA and malonyl-CoA as substrates for resveratrol production in vitro. The Vmax of the recombinant protein for the resveratrol production was 0.88 ± 0.07 pmol s−1 mg−1. Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is heterogeneous and frequently contains multifocal tumors, but how the multifocal tumors relate to each other in terms of HBV integration and other genomic patterns is not clear. Methods: To interrogate heterogeneity of HBV-HCC, we developed a HBV genome enriched single cell sequencing (HGE-scSeq) procedure and a computational method to identify HBV integration sites and infer DNA copy number variations (CNVs). Results: We performed HGE-scSeq on 269 cells from four tumor sites and two tumor thrombi of a HBV-HCC patient. HBV integrations were identified in 142 out of 269 (53%) cells sequenced, and were enriched in two HBV integration hotspots chr1:34,397,059 (CSMD2) and chr8:118,557,327 (MED30/EXT1). There were also 162 rare integration sites. HBV integration sites were enriched in DNA fragile sites and sequences around HBV integration sites were enriched for microhomologous sequences between human and HBV genomes. CNVs were inferred for each individual cell and cells were grouped into four clonal groups based on their CNVs. Cells in different clonal groups had different degrees of HBV integration heterogeneity. All of 269 cells carried chromosome 1q amplification, a recurrent feature of HCC tumors, suggesting that 1q amplification occurred before HBV integration events in this case study. Further, we performed simulation studies to demonstrate that the sequential events (HBV infecting transformed cells) could result in the observed phenotype with biologically reasonable parameters. Conclusion: Our HGE-scSeq data reveals high heterogeneity of HCC tumor cells in terms of both HBV integrations and CNVs. Drought and flood disasters are common events threatening the safety of human lives, and full-time water conservancy emergency rescue teams play an important role in fighting against these disasters. In this paper, a competency assessment indicator system full-time water conservancy emergency rescue teams was first constructed by the Delphi Method. Four first-level, seventeen second-level and sixty third-level competency assessment indicators are proposed. Secondly, the weights of assessment indicators for a full-time water conservancy emergency rescue team at all levels were obtained by an analytic hierarchy process. Thirdly, based on that established assessment indicator system, the competency of the water conservancy emergency rescue team in Province A was assessed using a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Finally, the assessment results for the full-time water conservancy emergency rescue team in Province A were obtained. This study concludes by noting some practical implications of the results. Image segmentation is an important processing technology, which is the basis of image recognition and has been widely used in many fields. In this paper, we propose a method, termed coarse-to-fine strategy-based image segmentation (CSIS), for color image segmentation. The basic idea is to segment an image by three phases: (1) the original image is first segmented into several distinct regions by using the mean shift method; (2) the segmented regions are converted to a weighted region adjacency graph (RAG), and a new graph cut method, called multi-cut algorithm, is proposed to partition the RAG into multiple regions; (3) a one-step Chan–Vese algorithm is applied to smooth the boundaries of the segmented objectives. In each of the last two phases, a method is applied to refine the result obtained in the previous phase. By carefully balancing the efforts used in each phase, CSIS could segment color images both efficiently and effectively. These advantages are demonstrated by applying the proposed method to a variety of test instances, and the statistical results also show that it is comparable with some state-of-the-art methods. Dipyridamole, apart from its well-known antiplatelet and phosphodiesterase inhibitory activities, is a promising old drug for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. However, dipyridamole shows poor pharmacokinetic properties with a half-life (T1/2) of 7 min in rat liver microsomes (RLM). To improve the metabolic stability of dipyridamole, a series of pyrimidopyrimidine derivatives have been designed with the assistance of molecular docking. Among all the twenty-four synthesized compounds, compound (S)-4h showed outstanding metabolic stability (T1/2 = 67 min) in RLM, with an IC50 of 332 nM against PDE5. Zhu1S is a thermosensitive genic male-sterile (TGMS) line of rice possessing outstanding combining ability and low critical temperature, which has been extensively utilized as a female parent in two-line hybrid ricebreeding. However, the fertility of Zhu 1S during hybrid seed production is frequently affected by high temperature, thus leading to its fertility alteration and aborted hybrid seed production. To understand its fertility conversion mechanism under high temperature, we employed transcriptomics analyses on the anthers of young panicles of Zhu 1S during the fertility alternation sensitivity stage under high (Zhu 1S-H) and low (Zhu 1S-L) temperatures. The results showed that a total of 1119 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between Zhu 1S-H and Zhu1S-L anthers, including 680 up-regulated and 439 down-regulated genes. Bioinformatics analysis of these DEGs revealed that the high temperature induction caused fertility-sterility conversion in Zhu1S, mainly by decreasing the mRNA abundances of important genes closely related to plant hormone and MAPK signal pathway and transcriptional regulation factors, thereby impeding the growth and development of the anther of Zhu 1S, which ultimately affected the fertility transition of Zhu 1S under high temperature. The protein–protein interaction network analysis indicates that transcription factor OsTIFY11C possibility plays a central role in the fertility transition of Zhu 1S under high temperature.The present studies offer a theoretical foundation for further research into the molecular mechanism underlying fertility conversion in TGMS line Zhu 1S. With the deepening of coal mining in China, dynamic disasters occur with the release of energy. In this study, in order to study the difference between shallow rock and deep rock, conventional triaxial compression tests were carried out on basalts with different overburden depths. The mechanical properties and energy evolution characteristics of basalts with different overburden depths were analyzed. The results show that the strength parameters increase with increasing depths, while the deformation parameters exhibit the opposite phenomenon. The strength and peak strain of basalt with the same depth increase with increasing confining pressure. However, the elastic modulus almost remains unchanged. The prepeak total input energy and dissipation energy decrease with increasing depths, and total elastic energy increases with increasing depths which indicates that the deep rock releases more energy than shallow rock when failure occurs. The input energy, elastic energy, and dissipation energy increase with increasing confining pressure. However, elastic energy ratio decreases with increasing confining pressure. The strength parameters and elastic energy increase with increasing density and deformation parameter, while the dissipation energy decreases. This phenomenon has the opposite law when clay mineral content is increased. The conclusions of this study may provide theoretical reference to dynamic disasters induced by energy in deep coal mines. In order to improve the accuracy and performance of traditional image threshold segmentation algorithm, this paper proposes a multithreshold segmentation method named improved Harris hawk optimization (IMHHO). Firstly, IMHHO adopts Tent map and elite opposition-based learning to initialize population and enhance the diversity. Secondly, IMHHO uses quadratic interpolation to generate new individuals and enhance the local search ability. Finally, IMHHO adopts improved Gaussian disturbance method to disturb optimal solution, which coordinates the local and global search ability. Then, the performance of IMHHO is tested based on 14 benchmark functions. In image segmentation, different algorithms are tested to compare the comprehensive performance based on Otsu and Renyi entropy. Experiments show that IMHHO performs better in the three kinds of benchmark functions; the segmentation effect is directly proportional to the number of thresholds; compared with other algorithms, IMHHO has better comprehensive performance. We report on the Sm3+ and Sm3+:Yb3+-doped barium fluorotellurite glasses prepared using the conventional melting and quenching method. The spectroscopic characterisations were investigated with Raman and FTIR to evaluate the glasses' structural and hydroxyl (-OH) content. The Raman analysis revealed a structural modification in the glass network upon adding and increasing the Yb3+ concentration from a TeO3 trigonal pyramid to a TeO4 trigonal bi-pyramid polyhedral. At the same time, the FTIR measurements showed the existence of -OH groups in the glass. Thus, under the current experimental conditions and nominal composition, the -OH group contents are too large to enable an effective removal. The near-infrared region of the absorption spectra is employed to determine the nephelauxetic ratio and bonding parameters. The average nephelauxetic ratio decreases, and the bonding parameter increases with the increasing Yb3+ content in the glasses. A room temperature visible and near-infrared photoluminescence ranging from 500 to 1500 nm in wavelength and decay properties were investigated for glasses doped with Sm3+ and Sm3+-Yb3+ by exciting them with 450 and 980 nm laser sources. Exciting the Sm3+- and Sm3+-Yb3+-doped glasses by 450 nm excitation reveals a new series of photoluminescence emissions at 1200, 1293, and 1418 nm, corresponding to the 6F11/2 state to the 6HJ (J = 7/2, 9/2, 11/2) transitions. Under the 976 nm laser excitation, a broad photoluminescence emission from 980 to 1200 nm was detected. A decay lifetime decreased from ~244 to ~43 μs by increasing the Yb3+ content, ascribing to concentration quenching and the OH content. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is the leading cause of kidney failure worldwide. To explore the pathogenesis and effective biological target of DN is beneficial to seeking novel treatment strategies. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the role of the lncRNA Dlx6os1/SOX6/EZH2 axis in DN progression. Methods: PAS staining was performed to evaluate extracellular matrix accumulation; ELISA was carried out to assess the levels of urine microalbumin and blood glucose concentration; RT-qPCR was carried out to detect the levels of lncRNA Dlx6os1, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, SOX6, and EZH2. Western blot was performed to assess the levels of Col-IV, FN, TGF-β1, and SOX6 proteins. RIP assay was carried out to verify the interaction between lncRNA Dlx6os1 and EZH2. ChIP-qPCR was conducted to verify the interaction between EZH2 and SOX6 promoter. Results: Our results illustrated that lncRNA Dlx6os1 was highly expressed in DN mice and HG-induced SV40 MES13 cells. LncRNA Dlx6os1 knockdown inhibited HG-induced SV40 MES13 cell proliferation, fibrosis, and inflammatory cytokine release. LncRNA Dlx6os1 inhibited SOX6 expression by recruiting EZH2 in HG-SV40 MES13 cells, and SOX6 mediated the effects of lncRNA Dlx6os1 on proliferation, fibrosis, and inflammatory factor release of HG-induced SV40 MES13 cells. Background: The purpose was to assess the contribution of tumor size to the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. Methods: Patient data were sourced from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program (SEER) database. Cox proportional risk regression was performed to determine the prognostic role of tumor size. Kaplan-Meier curves were conducted to calculate survival curves. Consistency index (c-index) and subject exercise curve (ROC) were utilized to assess the predictive ability of each factor on the prognosis of gastric cancer. Results: Tumor size is preferable to other widely accepted prognostic clinical features in forecasting the survival of patients with gastric cancer. Background: Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (rhubarb), as one of the typical representatives of multi-effect traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), has been utilized in the treatment of various diseases due to its multicomponent nature. However, there are few systematic investigations for the corresponding effect of individual components in rhubarb. Hence, we aimed to develop a novel strategy to fuzzily identify bioactive components for different efficacies of rhubarb by the back propagation (BP) neural network association analysis of ultra-performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry for every data (UPLC-Q-TOF/MSE) and integrated effects. Methods: Through applying the fuzzy chemical identification, most components of rhubarb were classified into different chemical groups. Meanwhile the integration effect values of different efficacies can be determined by animal experiment evaluation and multi-attribute comprehensive indexes. Then the BP neural network was employed for association analysis of components and different efficacies by correlating the component contents determined from UPLC-Q-TOF/MSE profiling and the integration effect values. Finally, the effect contribution of one type of components may be totaled to demonstrate the universal and individual characters for different efficacies of rhubarb. Results: It suggested that combined anthraquinones, flavanols and their polymers may be the universal character to the multi-functional properties of rhubarb. Other components contributed to the individuality of rhubarb efficacies, including stilbene glycosides, anthranones and their dimers, free anthraquinones, chromones, gallic acid and gallotannins, butyrylbenzenes and their glycosides. Conclusions: Our findings demonstrated that the bioactive components for different efficacies of rhubarb were not exactly the same and can be systematically differentiated by the network-oriented strategy. These efforts will advance our knowledge and understanding of the bioactive components in rhubarb and provide scientific evidence to support the expansion of its use in clinical applications and the further development of some products based on this medicinal herb. Drung cattle (Bos frontalis) have 58 chromosomes, differing from the Bos taurus 2n = 60 karyotype. To date, its origin and evolution history have not been proven conclusively, and the mechanisms of chromosome fusion and environmental adaptation have not been clearly elucidated. Here, we assembled a high integrity and good contiguity genome of Drung cattle with 13.7-fold contig N50 and 4.1-fold scaffold N50 improvements over the recently published Indian mithun assembly, respectively. Speciation time estimation and phylogenetic analysis showed that Drung cattle diverged from Bos taurus into an independent evolutionary clade. Sequence evidence of centromere regions provides clues to the breakpoints in BTA2 and BTA28 centromere satellites. We furthermore integrated a circulation and contraction-related biological process involving 43 evolutionary genes that participated in pathways associated with the evolution of the cardiovascular system. These findings may have important implications for understanding the molecular mechanisms of chromosome fusion, alpine valleys adaptability and cardiovascular function. Integrated genomic, transcriptomic, and methylomic data from the endangered Drung cattle (Bos frontalis) provide further insight into its unique physiology and adaptation to alpine environments. The loss of cold air from the blade edge plates of the turbine has a negative impact on engine performance and safety. Using an experimental method, this paper investigates the effect of geometric and aerodynamic parameters on cold air leakage through pressure and mass flow measurements. Based on the results, it can be concluded that, with a change in sheet spacing, the proportion of bypass leakage and clearance leakage changes. At the same sheet spacing, the edge plate clearance is increased from 1 mm to 1.1 mm, resulting in a 30% increase of total leakage and a 25.7% increase of leakage equivalent mass flow. The edge plate clearance was increased from 1.1 mm to 1.2 mm, the total leakage increased by 19.2%, and the equivalent mass flow of leakage was 19%. The proportion of clearance leakage in the total leakage increased gradually for a given edge plate clearance. When the sheet spacing was 1 mm, bypass leakage accounted for 68% of the total leakage and was the primary source of leakage. The clearance leakage accounted for 83% of the total leakage with a plate spacing of 10 mm. When the sheet spacing is small, bypass leakage dominates; when it is large, clearance leakage dominates. The variation law of leakage with pressure, structural parameters and the ratio of sheet spacing to sealing slot length play an important role in the design of sealing structures. Aberrant 5-methylcytidine (m5C) modification plays an essential role in the progression of different cancers. More and more researchers are focusing on developing a lncRNA-based risk model to assess the clinical prognosis of cancer patients. However, the impact of m5C-related lncRNAs on the prognosis of patients with uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), as well as the immune microenvironment of UCEC, remains unclear. Here, we comprehensively analyzed the predictive value of m5C-associated lncRNAs in UCEC and their association with the tumor immune microenvironment, according to the information extracted from the TCGA-UCEC dataset. We identified a total of 32 m5C-associated lncRNAs that were significantly correlated with the prognosis of UCEC patients. Two molecular subtypes were determined by consensus clustering analysis of these 32 m5C-associated prognostic lncRNAs. Further data showed that cluster 1 was associated with poor clinical prognosis, advanced tumor grade, higher PD-L1 expression levels, higher ESTIMATEScore, and higher immuneScore, as well as the immune cell infiltration. Then, 17 m5C-associated lncRNAs with prognostic values were obtained using LASSO regression analysis. And a risk model was constructed based on these 17 lncRNAs. It was revealed that the risk model could be used as an independent factor for UCEC prognosis. In addition, patients with UCEC in the high-risk group had higher tumor grades and immune scores. The risk model based on m5C-related lncRNAs was also closely associated with infiltrating immune cells. In conclusion, our study elucidated the crucial roles of the identified m5C-related lncRNAs in the UCEC patients' prognoses, as well as in the immune microenvironment in UCEC. Background: Neuroblastoma (NB) is a common extracranial malignancy with high mortality in children. Recently, super-enhancers (SEs) have been reported to play a critical role in the tumorigenesis and development of NB via regulating a wide range of oncogenes Thus, the synthesis and identification of chemical inhibitors specifically targeting SEs are of great urgency for the clinical therapy of NB. This study aimed to characterize the activity of the SEs inhibitor GNE987, which targets BRD4, in NB. Results: In this study, we found that nanomolar concentrations of GNE987 markedly diminished NB cell proliferation and survival via degrading BRD4. Meanwhile, GNE987 significantly induced NB cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Consistent with in vitro results, GNE987 administration (0.25 mg/kg) markedly decreased the tumor size in the xenograft model, with less toxicity, and induced similar BRD4 protein degradation to that observed in vitro. Mechanically, GNE987 led to significant downregulation of hallmark genes associated with MYC and the global disruption of the SEs landscape in NB cells. Moreover, a novel candidate oncogenic transcript, FAM163A, was identified through analysis of the RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data. FAM163A is abnormally transcribed by SEs, playing an important role in NB occurrence and development. Background: Axillary vein/subclavian vein (AxV/SCV) and Internal jugular vein (IJV) are commonly used for implantable venous access port (IVAP) implantation in breast cancer patients for chemotherapy. Previous research focused on comparison of complications while patient comfort was ignored. This study aims to compare patient comfort, surgery duration and complications of IVAP implantation between IJV and AxV/SCV approaches.Methods: Two hundred forty-eight breast cancer patients were enrolled in this randomized controlled study from August 2020 to June 2021. Patients scheduled to undergo IVAP implantation were randomly and equally assigned to receive central venous catheters with either AxV /SCV or IJV approaches. All patients received comfort assessment using a comfort scale table at day 1, day 2 and day 7 after implantation. Patient comfort, procedure time of operation as well as early complications were compared.Results: Patient comfort was significantly better in the AxV/SCV group than that of IJV group in day 1 (P < 0.001), day 2 (P < 0.001) and day 7(P = 0.023). Procedure duration in AxV/SCV group was slightly but significantly shorter than IJV group (27.14 ± 3.29 mins vs 28.92 ± 2.54 mins, P < 0.001). More early complications occurred in AxV/SCV group than IJV group (11/124 vs 2/124, P = 0.019). No difference of complications of artery puncture, pneumothorax or subcutaneous hematoma between these two groups but significantly more catheter misplacement in AxV/SCV group than IJV group (6/124 vs 0/124, P = 0.029). Absolutely total risk of complications was rather low in both groups (8.87% in AxV/SCV group and 1.61% in IJV group).Conclusions: Our study indicates that patients with AxV/SCV puncture have higher comfort levels than IJV puncture. AxV/SCV puncture has shorter procedure duration but higher risk of early complications, especially catheter misplacement. Both these two approaches have rather low risk of complications. Secondary hematite (SH) is a serious factor resulting in reduction degradation of iron ore sinter in a blast furnace; however, until now, a quantitative study for SH formation had not been reported. In this work, the effects of gangue composition, including MgO, Al2O3 and SiO2, on the solid-state formation in the sintering process of iron ore fines were investigated quantitatively. It shows that the SH formation decreased from 67.84% to 46.11%, 35.44% and 22.37% after adding 1.0%, 3.0% and 5.0% MgO, respectively, while for Al2O3, the amount increased to 69.38%, 69.98% and 70.56%, respectively. For SiO2, the amount changed to 68.14%, 61.59% and 47.96%, respectively. Simultaneously, the magnetite (magnesioferrite) formation increased from 8.24% to 34.79%, 50.26% and 70.45% after adding 1.0%, 3.0% and 5.0% MgO, respectively. For Al2O3 and SiO2, the amount changed to 8.95%, 8.37%, 7.62% and 7.62%, 11.10%, 18.77%, respectively, compared with no gangue. This indicates that the SH formation increased with decrease in magnesioferrite. It was found that the decrease in SH formation relates to the diffusion of Mg2+ in magnesioferrite, which inhibits the solid-state formation of SH kinetically. A supposition was suggested that a maghemite existed at a high temperature, and decreased with an increase in MgO addition. Manual proteomic sample preparation methods limit sample throughput and often lead to poor data quality when thousands of samples must be analyzed. Automated liquid handler systems are increasingly used to overcome these issues for many of the sample preparation steps. Here, we detail a step-by-step protocol to prepare samples for bottom-up proteomic analysis for Gram-negative bacterial and fungal cells. The full modular protocol consists of three optimized protocols to: (A) lyse Gram-negative bacteria and fungal cells; (B) quantify the amount of protein extracted; and (C) normalize the amount of protein and set up tryptic digestion. These protocols have been developed to facilitate rapid, low variance sample preparation of hundreds of samples, be easily implemented on widely-available Beckman-Coulter Biomek automated liquid handlers, and allow flexibility for future protocol development. By using this workflow 50 micrograms of protein from 96 samples can be prepared for tryptic digestion in under an hour. We validate these protocols by analyzing 47 Pseudomonas putida and Rhodosporidium toruloides samples and show that this modular workflow provides robust, reproducible proteomic samples for high-throughput applications. The expected results from these protocols are 94 peptide samples from Gram-negative bacterial and fungal cells prepared for bottom-up quantitative proteomic analysis without the need for desalting column cleanup and with protein relative quantity variance (CV%) below 15%. Much of the work in alpha NFT has focused on evaluating changes in alpha amplitude. However, the generation mechanism of training-induced alpha activity has not yet been clarified. The present study aimed to identify sources of training-induced alpha activity through four temporal/spectral analytic techniques, i.e., the max peak average (MPA), positive average (PA), negative average (NA) and event-related spectral perturbation average (ERSPA) methods. Thirty-five healthy participants were recruited into an alpha group receiving feedback of 8–12-Hz amplitudes, and twenty-eight healthy participants were recruited into a control group receiving feedback of random 4-Hz amplitudes from the range of 7 to 20 Hz. Twelve sessions were performed within 4 weeks (3 sessions per week). The control group had no change in the amplitude spectrum. In contrast, twenty-nine participants in the alpha group showed significant alpha amplitude increases exclusively and were identified as "responders". A whole-head EEG was recorded for the "responders" after NFT. The epochs of training-induced alpha activity from whole-head EEG were averaged by four different methods for equivalent current dipole source analysis. High agreement and Cohen's kappa coefficients on dipole source localization between each method were observed, showing that the dipole clusters of training-induced alpha activity were consistently located in the precuneus, posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) and middle temporal gyrus. The residual variance (goodness of fit) for dipole estimation of the MPA was significantly smaller than that of the others. Our findings indicate that the precuneus, PCC and middle temporal gyrus play important roles in enhancing training-induced alpha activity. The four averaging methods (especially the MPA method) were suitable for investigating sources of brainwaves. Additionally, three dipoles can be used for dipole source analysis of training-induced alpha activity in future research, especially the training sites are around the central regions. Objective. We aim to evaluate the clinical effect of combined topical 20% autologous serum eye drops (ASEs) along with silicone–hydrogel soft contact lenses (SCLs) in the treatment of chemical burn-induced bilateral corneal persistent epithelial defects (PEDs) and to review the literature of related studies. Methods. From January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2019, we conducted a retrospective chart review of 8 patients with chemical burn-induced bilateral corneal PEDs who were unsuccessfully treated with conventional medical therapy and were then treated with combined topical 20% (v/v) ASEs and silicone–hydrogel CLs. The clinical effects and effectiveness of the combined treatment were evaluated. Results. The bilateral corneal PEDs healed in all sixteen eyes of the eight patients within 2 weeks. The patients did not report any discomfort associated with the combined treatment. Improved ocular comfort/visual acuity and decreased conjunctival injection correlated with healing. No recurrent corneal epithelial breakdown was noted during the 3-month posttreatment follow-up. Conclusions. The combined treatment of silicone–hydrogel CLs and ASEs can help to stabilize the ocular surface and successfully treat chemical burn-induced bilateral corneal PEDs. Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been increasingly used to treat patients with biliary/pancreatic duct obstruction or stricture outside the operating room. Effective and safe sedation techniques are needed because of painful stimuli and the long duration of the ERCP procedure.Nalbuphine has been shown to cause less respiratory depression during sedation than similar cases without nalbuphine. This study compared the effects of propofol-nalbuphine (PN) and propofol-fentanyl (PF) sedation in patients undergoing ERCP. Methods: Four hundred patients scheduled for ERCP procedures were divided into two groups: the PF group (receiving PF sedation,n = 199) and the PN group (receiving PN sedation,n = 201). Vital signs, adverse events during surgery, patient movement scores, pain scores, and adverse events one day post-ERCP were recorded. Results: Stable haemodynamics were observed in both groups.Compared to the PF group, the PN group showed significantly decreased respiratory depression (P < 0.0001) and surgical interruptions (P = 0.048).Nalbuphine decreased patient movement by reducing pain from ERCP. Conclusion: Nalbuphine, instead of fentanyl, precipitated less respiratory depression while permitting adequate/equivalent sedation for ERCP and therefore provides more efficient and safer sedation. To efficiently remove high concentrations of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), calcium–aluminum-layered double hydroxide (CaAl-LDH, denoted as CAL), and polypyrrole-modified CAL (CAL-PPy) were prepared by hydrothermal and in situ polymerization methods, respectively. The chemical structure, morphology, and elemental results indicated that the chain-like polypyrrole was decorated with hexagonal CAL. The specific surface area of CAL-PPy increased from 8.746 m2/g to 24.24 m2/g. The adsorption performances of CAL and CAL-PPy for aqueous Cr(VI) were investigated using batch equilibrium experiments. The decontamination process of aqueous Cr(VI) (100 mg/L) reached the equilibrium state within 50 min, and the kinetic data met the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation. The Langmuir model described the isothermal data properly, and the obtained theoretical adsorption capacity of CAL for Cr(VI) at 318 K was 34.06 mg/g, while that of CAL-PPy was 66.14 mg/g. The removal mechanisms involved electrostatic attraction, surface complexation, anion exchange, and reduction to low-toxicity Cr(III). Background: Interferon regulatory factor 2 (IRF-2) acts as an anti-oncogene in gastric cancer (GC); however, the underlying mechanism remains unknown.Methods: This study determined the expression of IRF-2 in GC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues using immunohistochemistry (IHC) and explored the predictive value of IRF-2 for the prognoses of GC patients. Cell function and xenograft tumor growth experiments in nude mice were performed to test tumor proliferation ability, both in vitro and in vivo. Chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-Seq) assay was used to verify the direct target of IRF-2.Results: We found that IRF-2 expression was downregulated in GC tissues and was negatively correlated with the prognoses of GC patients. IRF-2 negatively affected GC cell proliferation both in vitro and in vivo. ChIP-Seq assay showed that IRF-2 could directly activate AMER-1 transcription and regulate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which was validated using IHC, in both tissue microarray and xenografted tumor tissues, western blot analysis, and cell function experiments.Conclusions: Increased expression of IRF-2 can inhibit tumor growth and affect the prognoses of patients by directly regulating AMER-1 transcription in GC and inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. O -GlcNAcylation is a post-translational modification that links metabolism with signal transduction. High O -GlcNAcylation appears to be a general characteristic of cancer cells. It promotes the invasion, metastasis, proliferation and survival of tumor cells, and alters many metabolic pathways. Glycogen metabolism increases in a wide variety of tumors, suggesting that it is an important aspect of cancer pathophysiology. Herein we focused on the O -GlcNAcylation of liver glycogen phosphorylase (PYGL)—an important catabolism enzyme in the glycogen metabolism pathway. PYGL expressed in both HEK 293T and HCT116 was modified by O -GlcNAc. And both PYGL O -GlcNAcylation and phosphorylation of Ser15 (pSer15) were decreased under glucose and insulin, whereas increased under glucagon and Na2S2O4 (hypoxia) conditions. Then, we identified the major O -GlcNAcylation site to be Ser430, and demonstrated that pSer15 and Ser430 O -GlcNAcylation were mutually reinforced. Lastly, we found that Ser430 O -GlcNAcylation was fundamental for PYGL activity. Thus, O -GlcNAcylation of PYGL positively regulated pSer15 and therefore its enzymatic activity. Abnormal telomerase activity plays a key role in the development of carcinogenesis. The variants rs2736100 and rs2736098 of the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene, which encodes the telomerase catalytic subunit, are associated with the risk of different types of cancers. However, the results remain controversy. We conducted a meta-analysis to more precisely assess this association. We comprehensively searched the PubMed and Web of Science databases up to June 1, 2020, and retrieved a total of 103 studies in 82 articles, including 89,320 cases and 121,654 controls. Among these studies, 69 published studies including 75,274 cases and 10,3248 controls were focused on rs2736100, and 34 published studies including 14,046 cases and 18,362 controls were focused on rs2736098. The results showed a strong association between variant rs2736100 and cancer risk in all populations. (G vs. T: OR 1.18, 95% CI 1.12–1.24; TG+GG vs. TT: OR 1.23, 95% CI 1.15–1.31; GG vs. TG+TT: OR 1.25, 95% CI 1.16–1.36); the variant rs2736098 was associated with cancer risk in all populations as well (A vs. G: OR 1.13, 95% CI 1.05–1.22; GA+AA vs. GG: OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.04–1.27; AA vs. GA+GG: OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.10–1.38). Stratified analysis based on the cancer type indicated that rs2736100 was associated with an increased risk of thyroid cancer, bladder cancer, lung cancer, glioma, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. rs2736098 only increased the risk of bladder cancer and lung cancer. Moreover, the TERT variants rs2736100 and rs2736098 were associated with a decreased risk of breast cancer and colorectal cancer. The variants rs2736098 and rs2736100 located in 5p15.33 around TERT were associated with increased cancer risk in all populations. These two variants had bidirectional effects in different tumors.
