Bu çalışma ile bir devlet üniversitesinin Eğitim Programları ve Öğretim Bilim Dalı doktora programına kayıtlı lisansüstü öğrencilerin görüşlerine göre Değerler Eğitimi Araştırmaları dersinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya gönüllük esasına dayalı olarak ilgili dersi alan beş doktora öğrencisi katılmıştır. Örneklem, amaçlı örnekleme dayalı ölçüt örneklem kullanılarak oluşturulmuştur. Veri çeşitlemesinin sağlanabilmesi için veriler görüşme, gözlem ve dokümanlar aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Veriler içerik analizine tabi tutularak araştırma bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Değerler Eğitimi Araştırmaları dersine yönelik öğrencilerin daha derinlemesine bilgi edinme ve edindiği kazanımları meslek yaşantısında kullanma beklentisi içinde oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca dersin içeriğinin öğrenci beklentileri ve ders izlencesiyle örtüştüğü sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ek olarak dersin uygulama sürecinde işe koşulan yöntem ve tekniklerin lisansüstü düzeyde ve acil uzaktan öğretim sürecinde işlenen derse uygun olduğu belirtilmiştir. Son olarak, dersin ölçme-değerlendirme boyutunda gerek süreç, gerekse ürün değerlendirme yapıldığı ve bunun katılımcılarca olumlu karşılandığı söylenebilir.

Science and Arts Centers are organizations to create environment, and opportunities for identified gifted and talented students to develop talents, and to create innovative products with scientific research knowledge. Educational management and supervision practices present critical contributions to the successful development and positive outcomes of educational organizations. To explore the current educational management and supervision practices of the Science and Arts Centers in Turkey, Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analysis, and the needs analysis were conducted. Responses to a written survey with open-ended items were collected from 235 teachers, principals, and assistant principals during the 2018-2019 academic year. SWOT results identified the following: Strengths: Technological skills of the managers, and teachers; project-based education; Weaknesses: Lack of outdoor activities; lack of qualified managers; Opportunities: The Science and Arts Centers are the center for innovations; Threat: Lack of clarification of supervision criteria. The most important needs are as follows: Acquiring the educational and technological equipment, fairness of the managers, accountability and objectivity of supervision process. Recommendations are made for addressing key concerns of the results.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Karasu Deresi’nde yaşayan Barbus cyclolepis Heckel, 1837 ve Gobio bulgaricus Drensky, 1926 türlerinin bazı büyüme özellikleri mevsimsel olarak incelenmiştir.Materyal ve Yöntem: Örnekleme mevsimlik olarak (Ağustos 2017, Kasım 2017, Ocak 2018, Şubat 2018, Nisan 2018) elektroşok aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Her mevsimi temsil edecek örneklemeler arka arkaya 3 gün tekrarlanmıştır. Elde edilen B. cyclolepis ve G. bulgaricus bireylerinin boy, ağırlık, yaş, eşey dağılımları, yaş-boy, yaş-ağırlık, boy-ağırlık ilişkileri ve Fulton kondisyon faktörü değerleri incelenmiştir.Bulgular: İncelenen B. cyclolepis bireyleri 0-III yaş gruplarındadır. Standart boy değerleri 3,5-13,5 cm; ağırlık değerleri ise 1,2232-50,8213 g arasında değişmiştir. Dişi:erkek oranı 1:0,94 olarak saptanmıştır. Tüm bireylerde; boy-ağırlık ilişkisi W= 0,0253*SL2,9226 olarak belirlenmiştir. Yaşa göre en düşük kondisyon faktörü değeri, III yaş grubunda (1,982) dişi bireylerde, en yüksek kondisyon faktörü değeri I yaş grubunda (2,288) erkek bireylerde bulunmuştur. G. bulgaricus türünün yaş dağılımı ise I-IV yaş grupları arasında değişmektedir. Standart boy değerleri 2,5-9,6 cm; ağırlık değerleri ise 0,2989-18,3014 g arasında değişmiştir. Dişi:erkek oranı 1:1,56 olarak saptanmıştır. Tüm bireylerde; boy-ağırlık ilişkisi W= 0,0209*SL3,0081 olarak belirlenmiştir. Yaşa göre en düşük kondisyon faktörü değeri, II yaş grubunda (1,950) erkek bireylerde, en yüksek kondisyon faktörü değeri IV yaş grubunda (2,191) dişi bireylerde bulunmuştur.Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda Karasu deresinde yaşayan Barbus cyclolepis ve Gobio bulgaricus türlerinin kimi büyüme özellikleri ilk defa incelenmiştir., Objective: In this study, some growth characteristics of Barbus cyclolepis Heckel, 1837 and Gobio bulgaricus Drensky, 1926 species living in Karasu Stream, were investigated.Materials and Methods: Sampling was carried out seasonal (August 2017, November 2017, January 2018, February 2018, April 2018) via electroshock. Samplings representing each season were repeated for 3 consecutive days. Lenght, weight, age, sex distributions and ratios, age-length, age-weight, length-weight relationships, Von Bertalanffy parameters, Fulton condition factor values of the obtained B. cyclolepis and G. bulgaricus individuals were analyzed.Results: The examined B.cyclolepis individuals are in the 0-III age groups. Standard length values are 3.5-13.5 cm; The weight values varied between 1.2232-50.8213 g. The female: male ratio was determined as 1: 0.94. In all individuals; Length-weight relationship was determined as W= 0.0253*SL2.9226.According to age, the lowest condition factor value was found in female individuals in the III age group (1.982), and the highestcondition factor value was found in male individuals in the I age group (2.288).The age distribution of G. bulgaricus species varies between I-IV age groups. This research aims to examine the relationship between school principals' paternalist leadership behaviours and teacher autonomy. The research is a descriptive study in which causal comparison and correlational method are used together. 292 teachers were determined by using disproportionate sampling method. In this research, the Paternalist Leadership Behaviours Scale developed by Saylik & Aydin (2020), and the Teacher Autonomy Scale developed by Colak (2016) were used. As a result, it was revealed that school principals show moderate paternalist leadership behaviours according to teacher perceptions. It is concluded that there is a moderate and negative relationship between school principals' paternalist leadership approaches and teacher autonomy. As the paternalist leadership behaviours of school principals increase, teachers' autonomous behaviour decreases. Another result of the research is that there is a positive relationship between family atmosphere and benevolence dimensions and teacher autonomy.

This research aims to find out the current situation of the articles in terms of teacher training in gifted and talented education. The key words used are as follows: “gifted education”, “teacher training”, “teacher education” and limited to publications between 2000-2020. In the research, google scholar, TUBITAK ULAKBIM Dergipark, Council of Higher Education Thesis Center, ERIC were used as data base of this research. The researches which are inaccessible were left out of the scope. Each of the studies was examined according to aim, sample, methodology, and results using content analysis technique. This research is a meta-synthesis study. Four master and five doctorate dissertations, 21 articles, 30 in total, were included in the analysis. An extensive literature review was the focus of this research in order to access all the researches including the defined key words. At the end of the research, some suggestions were presented related to the conclusions.

Background. Enamel microabrasion can eliminate enamel irregularities and discoloration. This study evaluated the staining susceptibility of enamel after microabrasion using different clinical protocols. Methods. A total of 210 extracted bovine incisors were used in this study. The teeth were randomly divided into five groups of 42 teeth each (n=42), including group 1: control (no treatment), group 2: microabrasion, group 3: microabrasion + fluoride polishing, group 4: macroabrasion (fine-grit diamond bur) + microabrasion, and group 5: macroabrasion (finegrit diamond bur) + microabrasion + fluoride polishing. The groups were then randomly divided into two subgroups for discoloration procedures: coffee and distilled water (n=21). A spectrophotometric evaluation was carried out at baseline and on the 1st, 7th, 14th, and 28th days of the staining period. Statistical analyses were performed using repeated-measures ANOVA and the post hoc Bonferroni test at a significance level of 0.05. Results. The greatest color change was observed in group 2 specimens, which were immersed in coffee solutions. Mart 2012 ile Haziran 2013 tarihleriarasında dere üzerindeki 6 istasyondan aylık olarak elektroşok cihazı yardımıylaavcılık gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen S. cephalus bireylerinin boy, ağırlık, yaş, eşey dağılımlarıve oranları, yaş-boy, yaş-ağırlık, boy-ağırlık ilişkileri, von Bertalanffy parametreleri,fulton kondisyon faktörü değerleri incelenmiştir.Türün yaş dağılımının 0 ile VII yaş grupları arasında değiştiği gözlenmiştir. Total length and weight valuesof all individuals varied between 2.6-30.1 cm and 0.14-352.50 g respectively. The femalemaleratio was 1:2.76. Length-weight relationship and von Bertalanffy growth parametersin all individuals were determined as W=0.0078TL3.15 and L∞, W∞, K and t0 as 42.18 cm,1023.97 g, 0.137 and -0.576, respectively. Aim: Application of adhesive systems on dentin is a multistep, technique-sensitive procedure. Thus, the aim was to assess the effect of operator experience on the shear bond strength of an etch-and-rinse adhesive system and a self-etch adhesive system on dentin. Materials and Methods: Forty-eight extracted human molar teeth were used in the study. They were embedded in an acrylic resin after cutting off the roots. The mesial and distal enamels of the teeth were removed to expose dentin surfaces. The samples were allocated to four groups (n = 12): Group 1: restorative dentistry specialist with 13 years of experience, Group 2: with 6 years of experience, Group 3: postgraduate operator with 2 years of experience, and Group 4: undergraduate student with 1 year of experience and familiar with adhesive with systems. Each operator applied an etch-and-rinse adhesive system (Adper Single Bond 2) to mesial surface and a self-etch adhesive system (Clearfil SE Bond) to distal surface (n = 12). Then, a composite resin (Filtek Z250) was inserted with the aid of a plastic ring (2 mm 2 mm) and light polymerized. The specimens were stored in distilled water before shear bond strength test. A two-way ANOVA test was used for statistical analysis. Results: No statistically significant difference was found between each operator type with respect to etch-and-rinse adhesive system (P 0.05); however, the undergraduate student performed better than 2-year experienced operator with respect to self-etch system application (P 0.05). Conclusion: The shear bond strength of a self-etch system might vary according to the operator's experience. © 2020 Journal of Conservative Dentistry Published by Wolters Kluwer-Medknow.

This paper reviews the literature and recommends activities that can be used to teach English to gifted and talented students. It includes the responsibilities that teachers of the gifted and talented have in teaching the English language. Strategies for teaching the language in a natural and flowing way to increase intake and usage are also presented. Also discussed are the pressures on gifted and talented students when they are learning a new subject such as the English language and how these pressures occur because of beliefs about giftedness and how gifted learners learn. Teachers need to also be aware of the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of their students. This information can be used to help students speak English more naturally during informal talks/discussions in class about their different lifestyles and/or cultural features. The special and different learning characteristics of gifted students are important for their teachers to know. Teachers of gifted students should then use that knowledge when they differentiate curriculum. To be a teacher of these special children means being open to ongoing professional development and always focusing on the learner rather than the learning. Finally, the teachers of the gifted need to shift their approaches in order to become counsellors and guides more than instructors and directors of learning.

ÖZET Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Başkent Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi öğrencilerinin stres düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve strese neden olan faktörlerin incelenmesidir.Materyal ve Metod: Çalışmaya katılan ve henüz mezun olmamış 2013-2014 akademik yılında okuyan öğrencilerden Modifiye Edilmiş Diş Hekimliği Çevresel Stres Anketi [Dental Environment Stress Questionnaire/DES]’ni cevaplamaları istenmiştir (n=186). The aim of this research is to investigate the teachers’ emotional labour behaviours and to determine the reasons of the differences. In the research, mixed research methods including both quantitative and qualitative techniques were used. The population of the study was comprised of 280 teachers (266 for quantitative, 14 for qualitative dimensions) who work in Siirt city center. Because of the difficulties to reach the target population, time limitations and the cost over run, representative sampling was preferred. In order to investigate the teachers’ emotional labour behaviors, “Emotional Labour Behaviors Scale” which was adapted by Kaya (2009) was administered to the teachers in the study. This scale was adapted for educational field. For the quantitative dimension of the research, 266 scales were analysed by using percentage, means, frequency and standard deviation for descriptive statistical techniques. T-test, ANOVA tests were used for the differences among the variables. As a result of the research, findings indicated that there were significant differences in the teachers’ emotional labour behavior scores. The significant differences were found in the scores of the number of teachers, the working time at schools, the type of graduated faculty, and the type of the school. The questions related to the qualitative dimension of the research were asked to the teachers with different branches and gathered data were analysed using content analysis technique. According to the participant teachers opinions, the reasons for the significant differences of emotional labour behavior scores are different occupational definitions, being ready for the teaching profession, exhibiting more efforts and interest, more close relationships, and the negative effects of staying much more at school on the teachers. The participant teachers expressed their solutions as solving the teachers’ time and place problems, constituting more imteractive relationships among students and colleagues and preparing effective working schedule.
