The article focuses on the review of the book "Violent Criminal Acts and Actors," by Lonnie H. Athens. The review is given by David F. Luckenbill who had incorrectly interpreted the theoretical perspective underlying the book. He also made several unwarranted criticisms. Luckenbill's views on the theoretical perspective is completely is interpreted, this is true by his statement that the individual's action depends on his or her interpretation of the situation and this interpretation depends on his or her self image. But according to the author of the book, a person's interpretation of the situation is dependent upon what is happening in the situation. Luckenbill even mentions many of the concepts that the author has developed and the linkages among them in his review. Moreover, the concepts and relationships developed among the concepts constitute a theory of violent criminality which the author believe is on a par with most existing theories of violent criminality in its theoretical development.
