Abstract

Blockchain technology provides a secure and decentralized platform for storing and transferring sensitive medical data, which can be utilized to enable remote medical consultations. This paper proposes a theoretical framework for creating a blockchain-based digital entity to facilitate telemedicine services. The proposed framework utilizes blockchain technology to provide a secure and reliable platform for medical practitioners to remotely interact with patient transactions. The blockchain will serve as a one-stop digital service to secure patient data, ensure privacy, and facilitate payments. The proposed framework leverages the existing Hyperledger Fabric platform to build a secure blockchain-assisted telemedicine platform.

Abstract

Retinal blood vessels are affected by a variety of eye diseases, including hypertensive retinopathy (HR) and diabetic retinopathy (DR). A person with HR needs to be sure to check their eyes regularly, which requires the use of computer vision methods to analyze images of the back of the eye and help ophthalmologists automatically. Automated diagnostic systems are useful for diagnosing different retinal diseases for ophthalmologists and patients who need to establish an automated HR detection and classification system using retinal images. In this work, a sliding band filter was used to improve the back-of-the-eye images and small convex regions to develop an automated system for detecting and classifying HR gravity levels. An image classification with improved wolf optimization along Bayes algorithm was conducted. The current model was tested using the publicly available dataset, and its results were compared to existing models. The results mentioned that the model-improved Naïve Bayes model classified the different HR severity levels on the optimized features and produced a maximum accuracy of 100% while being compared to other classifiers. Abstract

Introduction: The simulation exercise (SimEx) simulates an emergency in which an elaboration or description of the response is applied. The purpose of these exercises is to validate and improve plans, procedures, and systems for responding to all hazards. The purpose of this study was to review disaster preparation exercises conducted by various national, non-government, and academic institutions. Methodology: Several databases, including PubMed (Medline), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), BioMed Central, and Google Scholar, were used to review the literature. Information was retrieved using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and documents were selected according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). To assess the quality of the selected articles, the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) technique was utilized. Results: A total of 29 papers were selected for final review based on PRISMA guidelines and the NOS quality assessment. Studies have shown that many forms of SimEx commonly used in disaster management including tabletop exercises, functional exercises, and full-scale exercises have their benefits and limitations. There is no doubt that SimEx is an excellent tool for improving disaster planning and response. It is still necessary to give SimEx programs a more rigorous evaluation and to standardize the processes more thoroughly. Conclusions: Drills and training can be improved for disaster management, which will enable medical professionals to face the challenges of disaster management in the 21st century. 38. Effect of various volume syringes on solution delivery time using conventional irrigation technique in 0.04 tapered preparations of single straight root canals: An ex vivo study.

Abstract

Introduction: The important aspect of endodontic treatment is root canal irrigation. Although agitation systems proved to have enhanced irrigant wall interactions, syringe needle-based delivery systems still play a significant role during the preparatory phases of root canal treatment. The current study aimed to evaluate the time taken for the irrigant delivery during conventional syringe irrigation using different volume syringes in different root canal preparations. Materials and Methods: Two hundred extracted single-rooted premolars with approximately round canals were randomly instrumented to preferred apical preparation sizes using 0.4 tapered Hyflex-CM rotary Ni-Ti instruments and randomly divided as follows: Group I, instrumentation to size 40, 0.04 taper (n = 50); Group II, instrumentation to size 30, 0.04 taper (n = 50); Group III, instrumentation to size 25, 0.04 taper (n = 50); and Group IV, instrumentation to size 20, 0.04 taper (n = 50). Fifty operators were chosen for the experimentation. They were asked to irrigate the prepared specimens using different volume syringes. The entire irrigant delivery time was recorded by a head nurse using a stopwatch, and the values were calibrated and statistically analyzed. Results: Group I recorded significantly lesser time for irrigant delivery during manual syringe needle irrigation (P = 0.005) compared to other groups. Conclusion: Irrigation delivery time was less in 40/0.04 taper preparations, using 1 ml volume syringes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Access to healthcare services is critical to good health, yet residents of internal areas face a variety of access barriers. The obstacles faced by health care providers and patients in rural areas are vastly different from those in urban areas. This might be caused by economic factors, cultural and social differences, educational shortcomings, lack of recognition by legislators and the sheer isolation of living in internal areas all conspire to create health care disparities and impede people living in internal areas in their struggle to lead normal healthy lives. Italy’s indicators of health system outcomes and quality are consistently good. This is despite levels of health spending below other high-income countries like Germany, France, and other EU nations. However, Italy is lagging in some areas, like long-term care and prevention of non-communicable diseases. Based on available analyses, further progress is called for to promote appropriateness of care, address geographic imbalances in health care use and prevent the spread of risk factors including chronic diseases and regular health issues. To eradicate these issues, it is essential to develop a system that will help internal areas patients by using contemporary technologies. The improved system could assist patients also without the presence in the same place of a doctor that will generate corresponding prescriptions, which authenticated by physicians will be stored in the database.
