Waterborne polyurethane cationomer coatings modified with 1,3-bis(3(3-(propoxy-2-ol-)-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide)-3-propyloxy))tetramethyldisiloxane (TMDS–AGE–DOPA) containing phosphorus and silicon atoms were obtained. Their structures were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The effect of TMDS–AGE–DOPA on thermal properties, flame retardancy, and surface characteristics (gloss, contact angle, surface free energy), as well as performance properties (hardness, impact resistance), was investigated. A coupled TG-FTIR technique was employed for evolved gas analysis. Thermal stability decreased with the addition of the modifier, while the glass transition temperature increased from −19 to 25 °C. The modifier improved the flame retardancy of the material by shifting the peak temperature of the heat release rate (TPHRR) to lower values. The gloss of the coatings was very high (>90 GU at all angles studied), although it decreased with increasing modifier content. The presence of phosphorus moieties from the modifier enhanced hydrophilicity, raising surface free energy (SFE) from 37.9 to 44.0 mJ/m2. The coatings are soft materials with a Persoz hardness in the range of 0.05–0.32. The modifier increased hardness but reduced impact strength. This study explores the application of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometric and machine learning techniques for authenticating sheep's milk and distinguishing it from cow's milk. The demand for accurate authentication methods is driven by the high production costs of sheep's milk and the prevalent issue of adulteration with cow's milk, which can have economic, health, and ethical implications. Our research utilizes exploratory analysis, regression, and classification tasks on spectral data to identify characteristic spectral signatures and physicochemical parameters for sheep's milk. Key methods included the application of decision trees, random forests, and k-nearest neighbors (KNN), with the random forest model showing the highest predictive accuracy (R2 of 0.9801). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed significant spectral and compositional differences, particularly in fat content and wavelengths responsible for amide I and II bands (1454 nm and 1550 nm) correlated with the conformational characteristics of the proteins, with sheep's milk exhibiting higher values than cow's milk. These findings indicate the potential of FTIR spectroscopy as a reliable tool for milk authentication. Currently, digitalization within the milk production chain is limited, particularly in the case of regional dairy products. The introduction of integrated photonics, machine learning, and, in the future, telemetry systems would enable dairy farmers to optimize their operations and ensure the origin and quality of the milk supplied to milk producers. Protection against fire and the corrosion of metals is necessary to ensure human safety. Most of the fire and corrosion inhibitors do not meet the ecological requirements. Therefore, effective and ecological methods of protecting metals are currently a challenge for researchers. In this work, the influence of hexakis(4-(hydroxymethyl)phenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene (HHPCP) on the characteristics of powder coatings was examined. The coatings' properties were investigated by measuring the roughness, hardness, adhesion to the steel surface, cupping, gloss, scratch resistance, and water contact angle. The thermal stability was studied by furnace test and TGA analysis. The corrosion resistance test was carried out in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The distribution of phosphazene-derived segments in the coating was examined by GD-EOS analysis. Modified coatings show better corrosion and thermal resistance and can be used for the protection of the steel surface. Their better corrosion resistance is due to the electroactive properties of the phosphazene ring and its higher concentration at the coating surface, confirmed by GD-EOS analysis. The increase in thermal resistance is due to the effect of the formation of phosphoric metaphosphoric and polyphosphoric acids during the decomposition of HHCPC, which remain in the condensed char phase and play a crucial role in surface protection. Novel nonterminal liquid crystalline epoxy resin has been synthesized, and its structure and nature have been determined via nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and polarized optical microscopy (POM). Then, it was cured with the use of 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (4,4'-DDM). The curing process has been investigated via differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) methods. Polymerization has been conducted with (1.2 T) and without the presence of a strong magnetic field. The properties of the obtained polymers have been described using DSC, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dielectric spectroscopy (DS) and X-ray scattering studies (WAXS/SAXS). It has been proved that the magnetic field induces molecular ordering and increases the glass transition temperature (Tg) by over 20 °C. The obtained ordered polymers are thermally stable up to over 300 °C, undergo vitrification at slightly elevated temperature (37.5 °C), and their electrical conductivity rises significantly at the transition to an elastic state, which, among other possibilities, makes them a proper candidate for a smart, lightweight polymers with tuneable properties by a subtle temperature rise and possibility of tailoring its structure by a magnetic field. Flaxseed oil cake was subjected to fermentation with Rhizopus oligosporus (DSM 1964 and ATCC 64063), and the phytate (InsP6) content, myo-inositol phosphate profile and in vitro bioavailability of essential minerals were studied. Flaxseed oil cake had a phytate mass frac tion of 13.9 mg/g. A 96-hour fermentation of flaxseed oil cake by R. oligo sporus DSM 1964 and R. oligosporus ATCC 64063 decreased the InsP6 content by 48 and 33 %, respectively. The strains had different phytate-degrading activities: fermentation of flaxseed oil cake with R. oligosporus DSM 1964 was more advantageous, yielding InsP3-5 as a predominating myo-inositol compound, while fermentation with R. oligosporus ATCC 64603 produced predominantly InsP5-6. Solid-state fermentation of flaxseed o il cake enhanced in vitro bioavailability of calcium by 14, magnesium by 3.3 and phosphorus by 2-4 %. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
