In mammals, 17-beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 2 (Hsd17b2) enzyme specifically catalyzes the oxidation of the C17 hydroxyl group and efficiently regulates the activities of estrogens and androgens to prevent diseases induced by hormone disorders. However, the functions of the hsd17b2 gene involved in animal sex differentiation are still largely unclear. The ricefield eel (Monopterus albus), a protogynous hermaphroditic fish with a small genome size (2n = 24), is usually used as an ideal model to study the mechanism of sex differentiation in vertebrates. Therefore, in this study, hsd17b2 gene cDNA was cloned and its mRNA expression profiles were determined in the ricefield eel. The cloned cDNA fragment of hsd17b2 was 1230 bp, including an open reading frame of 1107 bp, encoding 368 amino acid residues with conserved catalytic subunits. Moreover, real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) analysis showed that hsd17b2 mRNA expressed strongly in the ovaries at early developmental stages, weakly in liver and intestine, and barely in testis and other tissues. In particular, hsd17b2 mRNA expression was found to peak in ovaries of young fish and ovotestis at the early stage, and eventually declined in gonads from the late ovotestis to testis. Likewise, chemical in situ hybridization results indicated that the hsd17b2 mRNA signals were primarily detected in the cytoplasm of oogonia and oocytes at stage I–II, subsequently concentrated in the granulosa cells around the oocytes at stage Ⅲ–Ⅳ, but undetectable in mature oocytes and male germ cells. Intriguingly, in ricefield eel ovaries, hsd17b2 mRNA expression could be significantly reduced by 17β-estradiol (E2) or tamoxifen (17β-estradiol inhibitor, E2I) induction at a low concentration (10 ng/mL) and increased by E2I induction at a high concentration (100 ng/mL). On the other hand, both the melatonin (MT) and flutamide (androgen inhibitor, AI) induction could significantly decrease hsd17b2 mRNA expression in the ovary of ricefield eel. This study provides a clue for demonstrating the mechanism of sexual differentiation in fish. The findings of our study imply that the hsd17b2 gene could be a key regulator in sexual differentiation and modulate sex reversal in the ricefield eel and other hermaphroditic fishes. To solve the problem that fault diagnosis accuracy of complex equipment bearings is not high due to the complexity of its structure and the environment, a cooperative algorithm for fault diagnosis of complex equipment bearings based on ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed. First, the vibration signal of the bearings is decomposed by EEMD. Second, the correlation coefficient and kurtosis value are selected as the evaluation indexes for the intrinsic mode function (IMF) components after decomposition, and the weights of the parameters are set dynamically by the mean-guided weight method. Then, the IMF components are filtered by an improved genetic algorithm to obtain the optimal IMF component combination, which can effectively eliminate redundant components and retain as much fault information as possible. Next, using the orthogonality of IMF components, the energy distribution of the selected IMF components is calculated as the Eigenvector. Finally, using the advantage of accurate classification of SVM in small samples, the fault status of complex equipment bearings can be identified. The effectiveness of the algorithm model is proven by example simulation data, and the model has certain scalability and applicability in engineering.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have been successfully used in adoptive cell therapy for malignancies. However, some obstacles, including side effects such as graft‐versus‐host disease and cytokine release syndrome, therapy resistance, limited sources, as well as high cost, limited the application of CAR T cells. Recently, CAR natural killer (NK) cells have been pursued as the effector cells for adoptive immunotherapy for their attractive merits of strong intrinsic antitumor activity and relatively mild side effects. Additionally, CAR NK cells can be available from various sources and do not require strict human leukocyte antigen matching, which suggests them as promising "off‐the‐shelf" products for clinical application. Although the use of CAR NK cells is restrained by the limited proliferation and impaired efficiency within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, further investigation in optimizing CAR structure and combination therapies will overcome these challenges. This review will summarize the advancement of CAR NK cells, CAR NK cell manufacture, the clinical outcomes of CAR NK therapy, the challenges in the field, and prospective solutions. Besides, we will discuss the emerging application of other immune cells for CAR engineering. Collectively, this comprehensive review will provide a valuable and informative summary of current progress and evaluate challenges and future opportunities of CAR NK cells in tumor treatment. In 2009, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV), also known as the Dabie bandavirus (DBV), was first discovered in Henan, China. It is a tick-borne zoonotic virus with a fatality rate ranging from 6% to 30%. Currently, we lack safe and effective vaccines or antiviral drugs to treat SFTSV infection. Therefore, the development of a specific, sensitive, and cost-effective detection method is crucial. Using inactivated SFTSV and recombinant SFTSV nucleocapsid protein (SFTSV-NP), we repeatedly immunized mice with different adjuvants and obtained two monoclonal antibodies against SFTSV-NP, which were used to develop a colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay (ICA) rapid test kit for SFTSV. Compared with nucleic acid testing (gold standard), the ICA test strips are 97.67% accurate in testing clinical serum samples (36 cases of clinical serum samples and seven cases of whole blood samples). The test kit was 100% accurate in detecting different SFTSV strains. No false-positive results were generated when detecting other arboviruses. Objectives: Evidence on the relationship between self-rated health status and incident type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in China is scarce. This study aims to examine the prospective association of self-rated health status with the subsequent risk of T2DM among middle-aged and older Chinese subjects., Methods: Data were obtained from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study of 9844 Chinese individuals aged 45 years or older. Cox proportional hazards models were used to yield hazard ratios (HRs) relating self-rated health status to the 7-year incidence of T2DM, adjusting for conventional risk factors., Results: Compared to those with very good or good self-rated health, individuals with poor health had a significantly higher risk of developing T2DM in the multivariable-adjusted model [HR = 1.36 (1.07, 1.73)]. Subgroup analysis by sex showed stronger associations in women [HR = 1.53 (1.11, 2.12)]. The intrinsic fast dynamics make antiferromagnetic spintronics a promising avenue for faster data processing. Ultrafast antiferromagnetic resonance-generated spin current provides valuable access to antiferromagnetic spin dynamics. However, the inverse effect, spin-torque-driven antiferromagnetic resonance (ST-AFMR), which is attractive for practical utilization of fast devices but seriously impeded by difficulties in controlling and detecting Néel vectors, remains elusive. We observe ST-AFMR in Y 3 Fe 5 O 12 /α-Fe 2 O 3 /Pt at room temperature. The Néel vector oscillates and contributes to voltage signal owing to antiferromagnetic negative spin Hall magnetoresistance-induced spin rectification effect, which has the opposite sign to ferromagnets. The Néel vector in antiferromagnetic α-Fe 2 O 3 is strongly coupled to the magnetization in Y 3 Fe 5 O 12 buffer, resulting in the convenient control of Néel vectors. ST-AFMR experiment is bolstered by micromagnetic simulations, where both the Néel vector and the canted moment of α-Fe 2 O 3 are in elliptic resonance. These findings shed light on the spin current-induced dynamics in antiferromagnets and represent a step toward electrically controlled antiferromagnetic terahertz emitters.

Organophosphates (OPs) are extremely toxic compounds that are used as insecticides or even as chemical warfare agents. Phosphotriesterases (PHPs) are responsible for the detoxification of OPs by catalysing their degradation. Almost 100 PHP structures have been solved to date, yet the crystal structure of the phosphotriesterase from Mycobacterium tuberculosis (mPHP) remains unavailable. This study reports the first crystallization of mPHP. The crystal belonged to space group C222(1), with unit-cell parameters a = 68.03, b = 149.60, c = 74.23 Å, α = β = γ = 90°. An analytical ultracentrifugation experiment suggested that mPHP exists as a dimer in solution, even though one molecule is calculated to be present in the asymmetric unit according to the structural data.
