1. Scaling Network Topologies for Multi-User Entanglement Distribution

Abstract

Future quantum internet relies on large-scale entanglement distribution. Quantum decoherence is a significant obstacle in large-scale networks, which otherwise perform better with multiple paths between the source and destination. We propose a new topology, connected tree, with a significant amount of redundant edges to support multi-path routing of entangled pairs. We qualitatively analyse the scalability of quantum networks to maximum user capacity in decoherence for different topologies. Our analysis shows that thin-connected tree networks can accommodate a larger number of user pairs than more evenly distributed lattice topology. We extend our analysis to quantum key distribution and show that the quantum network of a thin tree topology is more robust against decoherence and leads to better key distribution among multiple communicating parties., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures

Abstract

Teachers are the central point of improving the quality of education, so teachers are expected to provide professional performance. Thus, this study aims to examine the effect of servant leadership on teacher performance, organizational citizenship behavior on teacher performance, servant leadership on organizational citizenship behavior, and servant leadership on teacher performance and organizational citizenship behavior as a mediating variable. The research population were 200 teachers in Mamuju regency with a sample of 132 teachers. This study uses a survey quantitative research method. Data analysis in this study uses path analysis and sobel test. The results of the study discovered that there is a significant and positive effect of servant leadership on teacher performance where the value (p = 0.00), a significant and positive effect of organizational citizenship behavior on teacher performance (p =0.00), there is a significant and positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior with value (p = 0.00), and a significant and positive effect on teacher performanceand organizational citizenship behavior as a mediating variable with a value (p =0.02).Therefore, the OCB can be used as a model in strengthening servant leadership to improve teacher performance.

Abstract

Traumatic damage to the spinal cord (SCI) frequently leads to irreversible neurological deficits, which may be related to apoptotic neurodegeneration in nerve tissue. The MLC901 treatment possesses neuroprotective and neuroregenerative activity. This study aimed to explore the regenerative potential of MLC901 and the molecular mechanisms promoting neurogenesis and functional recovery after SCI in rats. A calibrated forceps compression injury for 15 s was used to induce SCI in rats, followed by an examination of the impacts of MLC901 on functional recovery. The Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan (BBB) scores were utilized to assess neuronal functional recovery; H&E and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining were also used to observe pathological changes in the lesion area. Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEPs) were measured using the Nicolet® Viking Quest™ apparatus. Additionally, we employed the Western blot assay to identify PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β pathway-related proteins and to assess the levels of GAP-43 and GFAP through immunohistochemistry staining. The study findings revealed that MLC901 improved hind-limb motor function recovery, alleviating the pathological damage induced by SCI. Moreover, MLC901 significantly enhanced locomotor activity, SEPs waveform, latency, amplitude, and nerve conduction velocity. The treatment also promoted GAP-43 expression and reduced reactive astrocytes (GFAP). MLC901 treatment activated p-AKT reduced p-GSK-3β expression levels and showed a normalized ratio (fold changes) relative to β-tubulin. Specifically, p-AKT exhibited a 4-fold increase, while p-GSK-3β showed a 2-fold decrease in T rats compared to UT rats. In conclusion, these results suggest that the treatment mitigates pathological tissue damage and effectively improves neural functional recovery following SCI, primarily by alleviating apoptosis and promoting neurogenesis. The underlying molecular mechanism of this treatment mainly involves the activation of the PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β pathway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

11. Comprehensive Analysis of the Use of Web-GIS for Natural Hazard Management: A Systematic Review.

Abstract

This systematic review aims to synthesise Web-GIS evidence for managing natural hazards to share state-of-the-art practices and policies. A comprehensive search in SCOPUS, among other databases, identified 1775 articles published between 2014 and 2023. Following a selection process based on the PRISMA model, 65 articles met the inclusion criteria. The analysis revealed a growing trend over the past decade, with most research concentrated in the last three years. Eight crucial subtopics within the Web-GIS domain have emerged: Integrated Spatial Analysis and Modelling, Technologies and Infrastructure, Visualisation and User Interface Design, Decision Support Systems, Real-time Monitoring and Early Warning, Disaster Recovery and Resilience, Citizen and Social Media Integration, and Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration. A substantial contribution of the literature has been identified in Decision Support Systems and Integrated Spatial Analysis, reflecting their vital role in strategising and predicting hazard impacts. Furthermore, a geographical distribution analysis revealed significant Web-GIS applications in countries like Italy and China, alongside a deficit in low- and middle-income countries. It also highlights potential gaps in hazard studies, including the need to prioritise heatwave management in the face of climate change. This research calls for policymakers and practitioners to leverage evidence-informed decision making and foster community collaboration for enhanced natural disaster resilience. 19. An organized 3D in vitro model for peripheral nerve studies

Abstract

Three-dimensional cell cultures have been proposed to address the limitations in two-dimensional cell cultures (i.e. lack of relevant architectural features) and very few have developed 3D cell culture methods for peripheral nerve studies. Therefore, the present study reports on the development of a 3D in vitro peripheral nerve model using aligned electrospun polycaprolactone fibre scaffolds manufactured under tightly controlled and reproducible conditions with uniform diameters of 1 μm, 5 μm and 8 μm. Fibres were characterized by SEM for diameter, density and alignment properties and formed in to scaffolds for 3D in vitro culture. Three different approaches were adopted using: i) neuronal or primary Schwann cell cultures alone; ii) neuronal and primary Schwann cells in co-culture and iii) isolated dorsal root ganglion cultures, containing both neuronal and Schwann cells, with immunohistochemical and 3D confocal microscopy analysis. Neurite guidance was evident on all fibres diameters with the longest neurites detected on 8 μm fibres when cultured alone. However, co-culture with primary Schwann cells was found to enable neurite formation on all scaffolds. Dorsal root ganglion explants when grown on scaffolds showed both organised aligned neurite guidance and notably the co-localization of Schwann cells with neurites. Neurite lengths of up to 2.50 mm were routinely observed using 1 μm diameter fibres after 10 days and all cultures demonstrated a migrating Schwann cell „front‟ of up to 2.70 mm (1 μm diameter fibres). Thus, a direct relationship was found between fibre diameter, neurite outgrowth and Schwann cell behaviour. Myelin formation was also studied in neuronal/Schwann cell co-cultures either as neuronal cells plus primary Schwann cells or as DRG explants, although no myelin expression was detected. This work therefore supports the use of aligned electrospun PCL microfibres for the development of 3D peripheral nerve models in vitro, with future value in a number of areas including developmental biology, disease studies and the design of devices and scaffolds for peripheral nerve repair.

Abstract

Akademisi menghadapi ketertarikan untuk memahami hubungan antara Islam dan konsumsi baru-baru ini, mengingat statistik menunjukkan peningkatan luar biasa dalam permintaan barang dengan karakter islami. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengungkap pola konsumsi islami pada civitas akademika STAI Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah Tanjung Pura Langkat. Prinsip-prinsip pola konsumsi Islam menjadi standart yang digunakan dalam melihat pola konsumsi yang ada. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif digunakan untuk menguraikan perilaku orang-orang yang berbagi jenis budaya tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari kelima prinsip-prinsip konsumsi Islam yang menjadi pedoman, terdapat tiga prinsip yang sudah diterapkan dalam pola konsumsi civitas akademika STAI Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah Tanjung Pura Langkat yaitu prinsip keadilan, kebersihan dan Moralitas. Sedangka dua prinsip lainnya yaitu kesederhanaan dan kemurahan hati masih sebahagian besar yang menerapkannya sedangkan sebahagian lainnya masih belum mempertimbangkannya.

29. Design of Ammonia Gas Detection and Control Devices in Chicken Farms Based on Arduino Uno

Abstract

Broiler chicken is a superior breed that has high productivity. Ammonia odor that pollutes the area around the cage is a problem in broiler management. Due to the activity of microorganisms in feces, unabsorbed protein amino acids, and other non-protein nitrogen (NPN) compounds break down into ammonia gas. In addition to damaging the environment, NH3 gas can interfere with animal performance, making them susceptible to disease. This research aims to solve the problem that comes from ammonia by measuring and designing an automatic ammonia gas controller based on Arduino using an MQ-135 sensor. If ammonia levels in the cage are greater than 5 ppm, ammonia levels are controlled by spraying liquid smoke to limit ammonia gas emissions. The results of this study show that the tool is able to reduce ammonia gas levels to 8 ppm. Ayam broiler adalah jenis ras unggulan yang memiliki daya produktivitas tinggi. Bau amoniak yang mencemari area sekitar kandang menjadi masalah dalam pengelolaan ayam broiler. Karena aktivitas mikroorganisme dalam feses, protein yang tidak diserap asam amino, dan senyawa nitrogen non-protein (NPN) lainnya terurai menjadi gas amoniak. Selain merusak lingkungan, gas NH3 dapat mengganggu performa hewan, sehingga rentan terkena penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah yang berasal dari amonia dengan metode pengukuran dan perancangan alat pengontrol gas amoniak otomatis berbasis arduino menggunakan sensor MQ-135. Jika kadar amoniak di dalam kandang lebih besar dari 5 ppm, kadar amoniak dikendalikan dengan penyemprotan asap cair untuk membatasi emisi gas amoniak. Hasil dari penelitian ini alat tersebut mampu menurunkan kadar gas ammonia hingga 8 ppm.

30. Penetration Impact of Distributed Generation of Wind Turbines on PLN’s Electric Distribution Network at Krueng Raya Aceh Besar

Abstract

Distribution of electricity that is too far away can cause the power flow that flows in the distribution channel to be significantly reduced. This also occurs in the PLN distribution line in Krueng Raya Aceh Besar, which is 95 km away, so that the voltage value is often below the standard value. This study analyzes the use of dispersed generators as an alternative solution to overcome this problem while increasing the efficiency of the electricity distribution system. However, the operation of distributed generators can have an impact on distortion harmonics in the voltage, current, and frequency of the power flow in the distribution network system. This study is focused on analyzing the penetration impact of dispersed wind energy generators on the distribution line by conducting simulations using ETAP. The results can increase the average value of the voltage profile by 0.077 kV or 0.39%, reduce power losses by 6.628 kW and THDv values ​​by 0.004% to 0.018% and THDi by 0 on all buses. Penyaluran listrik yang terlalu jauh dapat menyebabkan aliran daya yang mengalir dalam saluran distribusi berkurang secara signifikan. Ini juga terjadi pada saluran distribusi PLN di Krueng Raya Aceh Besar yang jaraknya mencapai 95 km sehingga nilai tegangannya sering berada di bawah nilai standar. Penelitian ini menganalisis penggunaan pembangkit tersebar sebagai alternatif solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut sekaligus meningkatkan efisiensi sistem distribusi listrik. Namun, pengoperasian pembangkit tersebar dapat menimbulkan distorsi harmonisa pada tegangan, arus, dan frekuensi pada aliran daya dalam sistem jaringan distribusi. Studi ini difokuskan pada analisis dampak penetrasi pembangkit tersebar energi angin pada saluran distribusi dengan melakukan simulasi menggunakan ETAP. 31. Prototype of Automatic Monitoring and Control System for Water Supply, Acidity, and Nutrition in Internet of Things Based DFT Hydroponics

Abstract

In the hydroponic deep flow technique (DFT) system, in general, the measurement of water quality parameters is still done manually and because of this it often results in delays in adding nutrients, causing yellowing of plants. This study aims to design and realize a prototype system for automatic monitoring and replenishment of water supply, pH (acidity), and nutrients in DFT hydroponics based on Arduino UNO and the internet of things. The system is built with Arduino UNO, pH sensor, TDS sensor, HC-SR04 sensor, DC water pump, NodeMCU, ThingSpeak and Blynk applications. The results showed that the system prototype was able to work well. The difference in the measurement results by the sensor compared to the reference measuring instrument is relatively small, namely the difference in pH 2.058%, TDS 0.835%, distance 0.255% and pH control 0.43%, TDS 0.404%, and volume 0.69%. The system prototype has succeeded in maintaining the pH level of the solution, the TDS of the solution, and the quality of the water in the system.  Pada system hidroponik deep flow technique (DFT), secara umum pengukuran parameter-paramter kualitas air masih dilakukan secara manual dan karenanya sering mengakibatkan keterlambatan penambahan nutrisi sehingga membuat tanaman menguning. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan merealisasikan prototipe sistem pemantauan otomatis dan pengisian pasokan air, pH (keasaman), dan nutrisi pada hidroponik DFT berbasis Arduino UNO dan internet of things. Sistem dibangun dengan Arduino UNO, sensor pH, sensor TDS, sensor HC-SR04, pompa air DC, NodeMCU, aplikasi ThingSpeak dan Blynk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prototipe sistem mampu bekerja dengan baik. Selisih hasil pengukuran oleh sensor dibandingkan alat ukur referensi relatif kecil yaitu selisih pH 2.058%, TDS 0.835%, jarak 0.255% dan pengendalian pH 0,43%, TDS 0,404%, dan volume 0,69%. Prototipe sistem telah berhasil mempertahankan kadar pH larutan, TDS larutan, dan kualitas air dalam sistem.

Abstract

Kajian ini akan berpandukan kerangka semiotik oleh Pierce (1965) dalam menganalisis peribahasa masyarakat Banjar. Sejumlah tiga data telah diperoleh melalui Ayuhak Bapandik – Supaan Bapandir Bahasa Rangkai, Kada Bapandir Bahasa Pupus yang bersumberkan ular (Serpentes). Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa, perlambangan ular dalam peribahasa masyarakat Banjar merujuk kepada aspek kelemahan berdasarkan makna harfiah peribahasa tersebut dan disokong menggunakan pendekatan semiotik Pierce (1965). Oleh hal demikian, kajian ini mampu menghuraikan pertalian antara pemikiran dan perlambangan yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Banjar dan seterusnya menjawab persoalan tentang lambang ular dalam peribahasa Banjar ini. Kata Kunci— semiotik; peribahasa; masyarakat Banjar; haiwan; ular (Serpentes) Abstract. This study will use the semiotic framework by Pierce (1965) in analysing the Banjar proverbs. A total of three data has been obtained through Ayuhak Bapandik – Supaan Bapandir Bahasa Rangkai, Kada Bapandir Bahasa Pupus related to the snake (Serpentes). The findings show that the snake representation in the Banjar proverb refers to the aspect of weaknesses based on the literal meaning of the proverb and supported by the Pierce semiotic approach (1965). Therefore, this study is able to elaborate the relationship between the thinking and symbolism used by the Banjar community and answering the question on the use of snake symbol in this Banjar proverb. Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji bidang fonologi khususnya dalam mengenal pasti jenis-jenis fonem konsonan serta menghuraikan pengguguran konsonan yang berlaku dalam dialek Kelantan bagi sub dialek Pasir Mas. Untuk mencapai objektif ini, data dikumpul dengan menggunakan kaedah kualitatif di mana kajian ini telah menggunakan kaedah temu bual dengan menggunakan senarai kata yang disediakan mengikut domain-domain tertentu melalui senarai Swadesh yang telah diubah suai dan memfokuskan kepada budaya benda sahaja. Temu bual ini melibatkan dua orang responden yang berlainan jantina dan merupakan penutur jati dialek Kelantan Pasir Mas di mana mereka tidak pernah berimigrasi ke luar negeri. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan bahawa dalam subdialek Pasir Mas, secara keseluruhannya jenis fonem dan jumlah fonem konsonan adalah 19 iaitu [p, b, t, d, k, g, l, ʧ, ʤ, s, h, m, n, ŋ, ɲ, ɣ] dan tiga segmen konsonan terbitan, iaitu hentian glotis [ʔ] dan geluncuran [j, w]. Selain itu, berdasarkan analisis data terhadap fonem konsonan, dialek Kelantan sememangnya banyak mengalami pengguguran konsonan di mana kebanyakan fonem konsonan banyak mengalami pengguguran di awal, di tengah kata dan di akhir kata. Antara fonem yang banyak mengalami pengguguran ialah konsonan likuida /l/ dan /r/ serta konsonan nasal /m, n, ŋ/. Selain itu juga, fonem lain juga dilihat banyak mengalami pengguguran berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, antaranya ialah konsonan /h, s/. This study was carried out to study the field of phonology, especially in consonant phonemes as well as consonant reduction that occurs in the Kelantanese sub dialect of Pasir Mas. To achieve the research objectives, data was compiled using qualitative methods via interviews and the usage of a word list that included specific domains of the Swadesh list which was modified to focus on aspects of material culture. The interview involves 2 respondents of different genders and are native speakers of the Pasir Mas dialect who have never migrated to foreign countries. The findings of this study show that the sub dialect of Pasir Mas has a total of 19 consonants - [p, b, t, d, k, g, l, ʧ, ʤ, s, h, m, n, ŋ, ɲ, ɣ] and three other pulmonic consonants which include glottal stop [ʔ] and glides [j, w]. Aside from that, based on the analysis for consonant phonemes, the Kelantan dialect has experienced countless of consonant reduction whereby must consonant phonemes are reduced in the initial medial or final cluster of the word. One of the most common reductions are the liquid consonants /l/ and /r/ as well as nasal consonants /m, n, ŋ/. Abstract

In this final project, we describe the study of reconfiguring the distribution network at the LG-04 feeder at the Lancang Garam substation, Lhokseumawe, to improve the performance of the distribution system. The focus of the parameters considered includes continuity, voltage, and power loss. The reconfiguration is to change the initial network topology which is in the form of radial into a loop. After reconfiguration, the calculation of power flow, voltage drop, power loss, and short circuit calculation is also carried out which becomes a reference for whether or not the quality of the network is good. The results of the simulation of the existing conditions show that continuity is not good, after reconfiguration and fault testing, the network does not experience blackouts like the network before reconfiguration. The power loss generated in the network after reconfiguration is 0.507 kW or a decrease of ±84% from the previous form of the network.

47. Relationship between Parents' Overprotective Behavior Perception and Independence of High School Students in Maros

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of parental overprotective behavior and the independence of high school students in Maros Regency. This research uses quantitative method with accidental sampling technique. The subjects of this study were high school students in Maros Regency with a range of ages 15 to 18 years, totaling 366 people. The measuring instrument used is the independence scale modified from the Sri Mulya scale and the perception scale of parents' overprotective behavior. Analysis of the data used is Spearman rho correlation analysis with the help of SPSS 24 for window program. The results of the data analysis showed a significance value of p = 0.000 <0.05 with a correlation coefficient of 0.173. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between perceptions of parental overprotective behavior and the independence of high school students in Maros Regency. The more positive the perception of parental overprotective behavior, the higher the student's independence, conversely the more negative the perception of the parent's overprotective behavior, the lower the student's independence.

Abstract

Power system stability issues and the lack of studies of the impact of relevant renewable energy networks are factors hindering the use of large-scale integration of renewable energy sources. This study focuses on examining the impact of photovoltaic system integration on the power stability of the power grid. The integration of this photovoltaic involves the analysis of the static and dynamic state of the electrical network. Load flow simulation is performed to assess the performance of static conditions of the power grid. Furthermore, dynamic analysis is carried out by applying 3-phase short circuits at critical points of the network and observing how harmonic and stability in the system. The simulation was carried out using the ETAP 19.0. Simulations of existing conditions and after penetration of the photovoltaic system showed the buses had THDv and THDI values below the permissible standards, respectively. In addition, the existing power flow simulation experiences a voltage drop from the nominal voltage. Masalah stabilitas sistem tenaga dan kurangnya studi akan dampak dari jaringan energi terbarukan yang relevan merupakan faktor yang menghambat penggunaan integrasi skala besar dari sumber energi terbarukan. Penelitian ini fokus mengkaji dampak integrasi sistem fotovoltaik pada stabilitas daya jaringan listrik. Integrasi sistem fotovoltaik ini melibatkan analisis keadaan statis dan dinamis dari jaringan listrik. Simulasi aliran beban dilakukan untuk menilai kinerja kondisi statis dari jaringan listrik. Selanjutnya, analisis dinamik dilakukan dengan menerapkan hubung singkat 3 fasa pada titik-titik kritis jaringan dan mengamati bagaimana harmonisa dan stabilitas pada sistem. Simulasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak ETAP 19.0. Simulasi kondisi sebelum dan setelah penetrasi sistem fotovoltaik menunjukkan bus masing-masing memiliki nilai THDv dan THDI dibawah standar yang diperbolehkan. Abstract

Stress is a response from within the body due to pressure in life that causes fear and anxiety. In previous studies, researchers only used 2 sensors, namely the Pressure sensor (MPX5500DP) and the Temperature Sensor (LM35). The purpose of this research is to develop measurement instrumentation from previous research. This study uses 3 sensors, namely the DS18B20 temperature sensor (oC), pulse sensor (bpm), and the Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensor. The method used is the Sugeno fuzzy logic method as parameter measurement and LCD as data display. Media intermediary data transmission using wi-fi ESP8266. The test results with the tool will be compared with the DASS 42 Questionnaire, which is one of the psychological stress measuring tools. From the results of the test tools and questionnaires, the percentage of the average level of conformity is 56%. Stres merupakan suatu respon dari dalam tubuh karena adanya tekanan dalam hidup yang menyebabkan ketakutan,dan kecemasan. Pada penelitian sebelumnya peneliti hanya menggunakan 2 sensor saja,yaitu sensor Tekanan (MPX5500DP) dan Sensor Suhu (LM35) alat yang dihasilkan kurang akurat. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan instrumentasi pengukuran dari penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 sensor yaitu sensor suhu DS18B20 (oC), pulse sensor (bpm), dan sensor Galvanic Skin Response (GSR). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode fuzzy logic Sugeno sebagai pengukur parameter dan LCD sebagai tampilan data. Media perantara pengiriman data menggunakan wi-fi ESP8266. Hasil pengujian dengan alat akan dibandingkan dengan Kuesioner DASS 42 yaitu salah satu alat ukur stress psikolog. Dari hasil uji Alat dan kuesioner maka didapatkan persentase tingkat kesesuaian rata-rata yaitu sebesar 56%.
