ObjectiveTo analyze the highlights of diagnosis and treatment of Charles Bonnet syndrome （CBS） and improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of CBS. MethodsOne case of CBS was reported. Literature review was conduced from PubMed, SinoMed,CNKI, Wanfang Data, Chongqing VIP and CMAPH using the searching words of “Charles Bonnet syndrome”, “hallucination” and “visual hallucination” in English and Chinese. Clinical data of retrieved cases were collected and analyzed. Results The patient presented with visual hallucination as the initial manifestation and complained of seeing “an invisible small-sized man” at home, whereas the patient understood that it was visual hallucination. No abnormality was found in mental assessment. The patient’s insight was not impaired and no other patterns of hallucination were found. The diagnosis of CBS was eventually confirmed. Cognitive therapy was given to this patient to deepen the understanding of CBS and reduce psychological burden. Fourteen CBS cases were retrieved by literature review, and they developed different patterns of visual hallucination. No effective drugs were available for visual hallucination. Conclusions It is difficult to make a diagnosis of CBS, there is no clear and effective treatment for it. Clinicians should pay more attention to improve the ability of diagnosis and treatment of CBS and lower the rates of misdiagnosis and mistreatment.

Magnesium alloy will decrease strength with corrosion in use, thus affecting their service life. Service life as a structural material under stress and corrosion is one focus of the magnesium alloy used as structural material, and how to improve the residual service life of magnesium alloy is an important scientific issue. The X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) tests are used to study the residual service life of erbium (Er) effect in the AM50 magnesium alloy in air, distilled water, and NaCl solution. The results show that after rare earth Er addition to the AM50, the white granular Al3Er intermetallic compound was formed. With Er content increasing, the quantity of Al3Er phase was increased and the volume of β-Mg17Al12 phase was decreased. The SSRT results show that residual service life ratio increased with the Er addition compare with no Er alloy in distilled water. However, in 3.5% NaCl solution, 0.5% Er alloy shows the best service life. Moreover, Er addition does not change the alloy fracture mode, which remains quasi-cleavage. The main cause of the decline in service life in magnesium alloys is the change in surface morphology owing to the pitting corrosion nucleation and growth, which affects the stress distribution of the sample. The mechanism of film cracking plays a major role in the fracture process with the Er increased to change the surface morphologies.

As a predominant ecosystem-providing area and distinctive landscape in arid regions, an oasis plays an important role in maintaining land stability, human production, and daily activities. Studying the dynamics of oasis and its driving factors is vital to supporting arid regions' sustainable development. As a typical mountain–desert–oasis landscape, the Turpan–Hami (Tuha) Basin, located in Xinjiang, China, includes complex interactions among different land types. For this study, we revealed the spatio-temporal patterns and transition processes of the oasis using a complex network method between 1990 and 2020 in the Tuha Basin. In the oasis transition network, the degree value, betweenness centrality, and average path length were calculated to express the transition relationship, key oasis type, and oasis structural stability, respectively. Six factors related to climate change and human actives were selected to investigate the driving forces behind oasis transitions, including the average temperature and precipitation in the growing season, the total power of agricultural machinery (TAMP), the production of raw coal (PRC), the total output value of the plantation industry (TPI), and the population (Pop). Our results show that the oasis area of the Tuha Basin, including the natural oasis and artificial oasis, all grew from 1990 to 2020, with the natural oasis expanding more than the artificial oasis. The transitions between oasis types became more frequent as the area of oasis land types increased throughout the study period. Grassland acted as the most important oasis type in the network, with the highest betweenness centrality, but its importance declined due to the increasing complexity of the oasis transition network from 1990 to 2020. The transitions between oasis types became simpler, and the oasis structural stability decreased. Through driving force analysis, the oasis changes showed a positive correlation with the temperature (p-value < 0.05, r = 0.88), and urbanization and industrialization factors prompted transitions to built-up areas and cropland from grassland and shrubland. In summary, our results suggest that to create a harmonious symbiotic relationship between the natural environment in dryland and human activities, preventing grassland degradation and excessive reclamation of land cover is an available way. Meanwhile, the protection of shrubland and water resources is also important. This study provided reference and theory support for promoting the sustainable development of oases. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), weight loss corrosion rate, corrosion residual strength (CRS), and slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) methods were used to study the effects of the addition of rare earth Erbium (Er) on the dynamic corrosion mechanical properties of the AM50 magnesium alloy. The results show that after Er was added, a new phase of Al3Er appeared and the microstructure was refined. The corrosion resistance of rare earth Er addition to the alloy was 0.5% > 1.5% > 1.0% > 0. Furthermore, the corrosion rates decreased in 432 h. The CRS results within 168 h show that the strength after an addition of 0.5% Er was the highest and the decline rate was the smallest. According to the shape of the tensile curve of CRS and the morphology of the tensile fracture, the addition of rare earth Er did not change the fracture form of the alloy, which remained as quasi-cleavage.

Bi2MoO6 was one of the important bismuth-based semiconductors with a narrow bandgap, and has been widely used in selective oxidation catalysts, supercapacitors, and energy-storage devices. A series of Bi2MoO6/ZnO composite photocatalysts with different mass ratios were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The synthesized samples were characterized by XRD, PL, UV-Vis, SEM, TEM, XPS, and BET analysis techniques. Under visible light conditions, Methylene blue (MB) was used as the target degradation product to evaluate its photocatalytic performance. The results showed that the degradation rate constant of Bi2MoO6/ZnO (0.4-BZO) was about twice that of the traditional photocatalysis of ZnO. The Bi2MoO6/ZnO composite catalyst maintained stable performance after four consecutive runs. The high photocatalytic activity of Bi2MoO6/ZnO was attributed to the efficient electron transport of the heterojunction, which accelerates the separation of electron-hole pairs and reduces the probability of carrier recombination near the Bi2MoO6/ZnO heterojunction. Abstract: Titania (TiO2) coatings with nanostructural surface prepared using plasma spraying technology were irradiated by ultraviolet light in simulated body fluids to improve their bioactivity. The in vitro bioactivity of the coatings was evaluated by investigating the formation of apatite on their surfaces in simulated body fluids. Bone-like apatite was observed to precipitate on the UV-irradiated TiO2 coating with nanostructural surface after it was immersed in simulated body fluid for a certain period, but not on the as-sprayed and UV-irradiated TiO2 coatings without nanostructural surface. The results indicate that the nano-TiO2 surface can be activated by UV-irradiation to induce its bioactivity. The ability of apatite formation on the nano-TiO2 surface was improved with the increase of UV-irradiation time. The in vivo results reveal that the as-prepared TiO2 coating with nanostructural surface cannot induce the formation of new bones during the implantation period, but the UV-irradiated TiO2 coating with nanostructural surface could do so during an implantation time longer than 2 months. Our results indicate that the osseointegration ability of the plasma-sprayed TiO2 coating with nanostructural surface can be improved by UV irradiation. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
