1. From the Life Phenomenology to the Criticism of Work Objectiveness (M. Henry, La Barbarie)

Abstract: Abstract This article aims to analyze Michel Henry's denunciation of the dehumanization of work in modern culture. The pretension to extend the instrumental scientific vision to all dimensions of human life determines, among other consequences, the loss of the genuine meaning of work as a display, and manifestation of subjective life. The study is part of the phenomenology of transcendental subjectivity that Henry proposes, whose intellectual keys are the understanding of life as “auto-affection” and the theory of the body as the pathos of living flesh, the “I” as “subjective body”. The notion of body-appropriation and its implications regarding work are examined, as exposed in Barbarism (chapters 1 and 3) to guarantee the unity of body-land and convert work as an expression of the subjective body through the objective body, avoiding any risk of rupture between them. The reflection leads to the conclusion that although Henry provides a vision of work that responds to life in its phenomenological reality, it is worth questioning whether confining the individual to his own subjectivity guarantees the ability of the work as a means of personal fulfillment. The unity and complexity of the human being demand a deep understanding of his personal being and the permanent search for a unifying principle so that work can be appreciated as an expression of a being that not only works through his body, but is himself that body that lives, acts, and works.

The study also aimed to analyze factors associated with pain intensity and quality of life (QoL). Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed including 53 patients with pure CNP and 281 with pure PNP attending in 104 pain clinics in Spain. The revised grading system proposed in 2008 to determine a definite, probable or possible diagnosis of NP was used. Pain features, psychological variables and QoL were assessed. Descriptive, bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed. Results: The prevalence of pure CNP and PNP amongst neuropathic pain patients was 2.4% (95% CI: 1.7;3.1) and 12.9% (95% CI: 1.5;14.3), respectively. Comorbid anxiety, depression or sleep disorders were high in both groups, but higher in CNP patients (51.1%, 71.4%, respectively). Pain intensity in PNP patients was associated with the presence of depression and sleep disturbances. However, in CNP patients, it was related with pain in the lower limbs. The impairment of QoL was greater in CNP patients than in PNP patients; pain location, presence of depression and sleep disturbance were the factors that most negatively affected QoL. Among PNP patients, women and those with higher pain intensity had worse QoL. Conclusion: Pain intensity and QoL are affected by different factors in patients suffering from CNP or PNP. In this work, through a review of the literature, we assessed several aspects of how CP influences the patient’s daily activities and quality of life, as well as its repercussions in the workplace, and on the family and social environment. Finally, the consequences of pain on the health care system are discussed. On the basis of the results, we concluded that in addition to the serious consequences on the patient’s life, CP has a severe detrimental effect on their social and family environment, as well as on health care services. Thus, we want to emphasize on the need to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to treatment so as to obtain more comprehensive improvements for patients in familial and social contexts. Abstract: El establecimiento del tipo penal de tentativa de homicidio exige a la investigación judicial aportar diferentes elementos probatorios. En este sentido, el informe técnico médico-legal de lesiones no fatales, realizado a solicitud de las autoridades, puede aportar valiosos conceptos médicos sobre la gravedad de las mismas, su localización y severidad. Sin embargo, hasta el momento no se han incorporado elementos determinantemente objetivos a partir de la ciencia médica forense para la valoración de la probabilidad que tenga una lesión para causar la muerte. En este artículo se revisan conceptos médico-legales y médicos en el contexto jurídico, que permitirían aportar una ponderación más estructurada de la probabilidad de causar la muerte de una lesión, fundamentalmente a partir de escalas médicas mundialmente reconocidas.

Abstract: RESUMEN Se describe el caso de una mujer con bocio multinodular en quien se practicó tiroidectomía total con monitoreo de nervio intraoperatorio, en quien se observó un nervio laríngeo no recurrente izquierdo confirmado por el dispositivo de monitoreo. Diferente a los pocos casos reportados no se encontró ninguna alteración vascular en la paciente. ABSTRACT A report of a female patient with multinodular goiter, on whom a total thyroidectomy under intra-operative nerve monitoring was performed, finding a left non-recurrent laryngeal nerve and confirmed with the use of the monitoring device. Different from the few cases reported, no vascular anomaly was found.

Abstract: This article is the 13th contribution in the Fungal Diversity Notes series, wherein 125 taxa from four phyla, ten classes, 31 orders, 69 families, 92 genera and three genera incertae sedis are treated, demonstrating worldwide and geographic distribution. Fungal taxa described and illustrated in the present study include three new genera, 69 new species, one new combination, one reference specimen and 51 new records on new hosts and new geographical distributions. Three new genera, Cylindrotorula (Torulaceae), Scolecoleotia (Leotiales genus incertae sedis) and Xenovaginatispora (Lindomycetaceae) are introduced based on distinct phylogenetic lineages and unique morphologies. Abstract: Bifidobacterium longum INIA P132 and Bifidobacterium infantis INIA P731, isolated from infant-faeces, were investigated in this work. Regarding the probiotic and technological potential of the bifidobacteria, both were resistant to gastrointestinal tract simulated conditions. B. longum showed high survival upon freezing and thawing as well as lyophilisation and was able to grow in milk. B. infantis had higher adhesion capacity to human Caco-2 cells than the commercial probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis BB12 strain. Moreover, both bacteria secrete heteropolysaccharides (HePS) composed of rhamnose, galactose and glucose. In a dextran sodium sulphate-induced enterocolitis model in zebra fish larvae, treatment with each HePS preparation resulted in a decrease of the larval mortality. In addition, the HePS from B. longum immunomodulated in vitro human macrophages treated with the inflammatory Escherichia coli O111:B4 lipopolysaccharide. Thus, both studied bifidobacteria and their HePS have potential beneficial effects on health and thus, to their application in functional foods.

Novelties from Thailand include Cyphellophora gamsii (on leaf litter), Pisolithus aureosericeus and Corynascus citrinus (on soil). Two species are newly described from Citrus in Italy, namely Dendryphiella paravinosa on Citrus sinensis, and Ramularia citricola on Citrus floridana. Morphological and culture characteristics along with ITS nrDNA barcodes are provided for all taxa.

Abstract: RESUMEN Objetivos: El sistema sanitario español ha sufrido muchos cambios como consecuencia de las políticas de austeridad llevadas a cabo durante la crisis económica, concretamente en lo que se refiere al gasto farmacéutico; medicamentos como los analgésicos, que previamente eran gratuitos para un sector de la población, se han visto afectados por la aplicación de un copago sobre el precio de venta. Por ello, nos planteamos identificar el efecto de la crisis económica en España sobre el gasto, prescripción y consumo de analgésicos. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo transversal basado en programa de gestión de medicamentos del Servicio de Farmacia del Distrito Sanitario de Almería, que incluye 18 centros de Atención Primaria (AP). Se recogió información sociodemográfica, prescripción, gasto farmacéutico y consumo de opiáceos (N02A), antinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINE) (M01A) y analgésicos antipiréticos (N02B) en 2008 y 2014. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo y comparativo del gasto, prescripción y consumo entre 2008 y 2014, y entre centros de AP dependiendo de su ubicación: rural o urbana, y con o sin necesidad de transformación social, reportando diferencias de medias en términos de aumento o disminución porcentual. Para analizar las diferencias en el consumo entre 2008 y 2014 se llevaron a cabo pruebas paramétricas (t-Student para datos apareados) y no paramétricas (Test de Wilcoxon), según la normalidad de las variables cuantitativas analizadas mediante el test de Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Resultados: Se incluyeron 18 centros de AP que daban cobertura a 291.024 usuarios en 2008 y 293.498 en 2014. La edad media de la población fue 38,5 años (DT: 4,7) en 2008 y 40,1 años (DT: 4,5) en 2014. El gasto global de medicamentos disminuyó un 23 % en 2014, y el de analgésicos un 12 %. Sin embargo, el gasto de analgésicos supuso un aumento en el gasto general farmacéutico. La prescripción y consumo de analgésicos también disminuyeron en 2014. A pesar de la disminución generalizada de analgésicos, los opioides aumentaron el gasto, la prescripción y el consumo. En el área rural, así como en las zonas de necesidad de transformación social, hubo un mayor aumento del consumo. Conclusiones: La crisis económica ha tenido un efecto negativo en la prescripción, consumo y gasto de analgésicos. Sin embargo, se observa un cambio de perfil en el tratamiento, aumentando el gasto y el consumo de opiáceos respecto a otros analgésicos. ABSTRACT Objective: The Spanish Health System has undergone many changes as a result of the austerity policies carried out during the spanish economic crisis, specifically in terms of pharmaceutical expenditure, since drugs such as analgesics, which were previously free of charge for a sector of the population, have been affected by the application of a co-payment on the sale price. Therefore, we intend to identify the effects of the economic crisis in Spain in the prescription, expenditure and use of analgesics. Method: A descriptive-cross-sectional study was carried out based on the drug program of the Pharmacy Service of the Health Area of Almeria, including 18 Primary Care centers. Information on the individual's sociodemographic status, prescription, use, and expenditure of analgesics for the treatment of pain such as Opioids (N02A), Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) (M01A), and Antipyretic analgesics (N02B) were collected in 2008 and 2014. We carried out a descriptive and comparative analyses of the expenditure, prescription, and use of analgesics between 2008 and 2014, and between Primary Care centers depending on the location of the centers: rural vs. urban areas, and deprivation vs. non-deprivation areas, reporting mean differences in terms of percentage increase or decrease. To analyze the differences in consumption between 2008 and 2014, parametric (t-Student for paired data) and non-parametric (Wilcoxon test) tests were performed depending on the normality of the quantitative variables, analyzed by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results: A total of 18 Primary Care centers were included, covering 291,024 users in 2008, and 293,498 in 2014. The mean age was 38.5 years (SD: 4.7) and 40.1 (SD: 4.57) in 2014. The global expenditure of drugs decreased by 23 % in 2014, and the expenditure of analgesics decreased by 12 %. However, the analgesics expenditure implied an increase in the global expenditure. The prescription and use of analgesics also decreased in 2014. However, opioids increased expenditure, the use and prescription. A higher increase in the use of analgesic was observed in the rural areas, as well as deprivation areas. Conclusions: The economic crisis has had a negative effect in the expenditure, use, and prescription of analgesics. However, a change in the treatment pain profile was observed, increasing the expenditure and use of opioids prescribed.

We carried out a descriptive and comparative analyses of the expenditure, prescription, and use of analgesics between 2008 and 2014, and between Primary Care centers depending on the location of the centers: rural vs. urban areas, and deprivation vs. non-deprivation areas, reporting mean differences in terms of percentage increase or decrease. To analyze the differences in consumption between 2008 and 2014, parametric (t-Student for paired data) and non-parametric (Wilcoxon test) tests were performed depending on the normality of the quantitative variables, analyzed by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results: A total of 18 Primary Care centers were included, covering 291,024 users in 2008, and 293,498 in 2014. The mean age was 38.5 years (SD: 4.7) and 40.1 (SD: 4.57) in 2014. The global expenditure of drugs decreased by 23 % in 2014, and the expenditure of analgesics decreased by 12 %. However, the analgesics expenditure implied an increase in the global expenditure. The prescription and use of analgesics also decreased in 20, Objetivos: El sistema sanitario español ha sufrido muchos cambios como consecuencia de las políticas de austeridad llevadas a cabo durante la crisis económica, concretamente en lo que se refiere al gasto farmacéutico; medicamentos como los analgésicos, que previamente eran gratuitos para un sector de la población, se han visto afectados por la aplicación de un copago sobre el precio de venta. Por ello, nos planteamos identificar el efecto de la crisis económica en España sobre el gasto, prescripción y consumo de analgésicos. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo transversal basado en programa de gestión de medicamentos del Servicio de Farmacia del Distrito Sanitario de Almería, que incluye 18 centros de Atención Primaria (AP). Se recogió información sociodemográfica, prescripción, gasto farmacéutico y consumo de opiáceos (N02A), antinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINE) (M01A) y analgésicos antipiréticos (N02B) en 2008 y 2014. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo y comparativo del gasto, prescripción y consumo entre 2008 y 2014, y entre centros de AP dependiendo de su ubicación: rural o urbana, y con o sin necesidad de transformación social, reportando diferencias de medias en términos de aumento o disminución porcentual. Para analizar las diferencias en el consumo entre 2008 y 2014 se llevaron a cabo pruebas paramétricas (t-Student para datos apareados) y no paramétricas (Test de Wilcoxon), según la normalidad de las variables cuantitativas analizadas mediante el test de Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Resultados: Se incluyeron 18 centros de AP que daban cobertura a 291.024 usuarios en 2008 y 293.498 en 2014. La edad media de la población fue 38,5 años (DT: 4,7) en 2008 y 40,1 años (DT: 4,5) en 2014. El gasto global de medicamentos disminuyó un 23 % en 2014, y el de analgésicos un 12 %. Abstract: Objective: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors are expressed on the surface of natural killer cells and CD28nullT-cells, both present in synovial membrane of RA. Therefore we evaluated the associations ofKIRgenes with RA.Methods: 16KIRgenes were genotyped in 100 healthy subjects (HS) and 100 RA patients from Western Mexico using PCR-SSP. Differences inKIRgenotypes and gene frequencies were assessed using theX2test.Results: Gene frequency ofKIR2DL3was lower in RA than in HS (p= 0.0019), whereasKIR2DL2andKIR2DS2were higher in RA than HS (p= 0.0004 andp= 0.0487, respectively). In addition were identified 38 genotypes (from G1-G38) in both studied groups, and the genotype frequencies of G1, G6 and G14 showed significant differences (p= 0.0001,p= 0.0208 andp= 0.0300, respectively).Conclusions: The presence ofKIR2DL2,KIR2DS2and absence ofKIR2DL3are associated with RA. Moreover, two genotypes BX are associated with RA. These results suggest thatKIRscan be involved in RA susceptibility.

The gene includes the CD28 IVS3 +17T/C polymorphism that could be associated with susceptibility to RA whereas the soluble concentrations of CD28 (sCD28) could be related to clinical activity.Methods:We investigated the CD28 IVS3 +17T/C polymorphism in 200 RA patients and 200 healthy subjects (HS). Furthermore, we quantified the sCD28 concentrations in 77 samples of each group. We applied indexes focused to determine the activity and disability (DAS28 and Spanish HAQ-DI, respectively) in RA patients.Methods:We investigated the CD28 IVS3 +17T/C polymorphism in 200 RA patients and 200 healthy subjects (HS). Furthermore, we quantified the sCD28 concentrations in 77 samples of each group. We applied indexes focused to determine the activity and disability (DAS28 and Spanish HAQ-DI, respectively) in RA patients.Results:RA patients had significantly higher frequencies of the CD28 T allele compared to HS (p= 0.032 OR = 1.59, C.I. 1.02–2.49). In addition, the IVS3 +17 T/T genotype frequency was also increased in RA vs. HS (p= 0.026). The RA patients showed higher sCD28 serum levels than HS (p= 0.001). Carriers of the T/T genotype in RA patients showed higher sCD28 levels than C/C carriers (p= 0.047). In addition, a correlation between sCD28 and Spanish HAQ-DI (correlation, 0.272;p= 0.016), was found.Conclusion:The T allele in CD28 IVS3 +17T/C polymorphism is associated with a susceptibility to RA in Western Mexico. In addition, increased sCD28 levels are related to T/T genotype in RA patients.

Abstract: Novel species of fungi described in the present study include the following from Australia: Vermiculariopsiella eucalypti, Mulderomyces natalis (incl. Mulderomyces gen. nov.), Fusicladium paraamoenum, Neotrimmatostroma paraexcentricum, and Pseudophloeospora eucalyptorum on leaves of Eucalyptus spp., Anungitea grevilleae (on leaves of Grevillea sp.), Pyrenochaeta acaciae (on leaves of Acacia sp.), and Brunneocarpos banksiae (incl. Brunneocarpos gen. nov.) on cones of Banksia attenuata. Novel foliicolous taxa from South Africa include Neosulcatispora strelitziae (on Strelitzia nicolai), Colletotrichum ledebouriae (on Ledebouria floridunda), Cylindrosympodioides brabejum (incl. Cylindrosympodioides gen. nov.) on Brabejum stellatifolium, Sclerostagonospora ericae (on Erica sp.), Setophoma cyperi (on Cyperus sphaerocephala), and Phaeosphaeria breonadiae (on Breonadia microcephala). Novelties described from Robben Island (South Africa) include Wojnowiciella cissampeli and Diaporthe cissampeli (both on Cissampelos capensis), Phaeotheca salicorniae (on Salicornia meyeriana), Paracylindrocarpon aloicola (incl. Paracylindrocarpon gen. nov.) on Aloe sp., and Libertasomyces myopori (incl. Libertasomyces gen. nov.) on Myoporum serratum. Abstract: © 2015-2016 Naturalis Biodiversity Center & Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures. Novel species of fungi described in the present study include the following from Australia: Vermiculariopsiella eucalypti, Mulderomyces natalis (incl. Mulderomyces gen. nov.), Fusicladium paraamoenum, Neotrimmatostroma paraexcentricum, and Pseudophloeospora eucalyptorum on leaves of Eucalyptus spp., Anungitea grevilleae (on leaves of Grevillea sp.), Pyrenochaeta acaciae (on leaves of Acacia sp.), and Brunneocarpos banksiae (incl. Brunneocarpos gen. nov.) on cones of Banksia attenuata. Novel foliicolous taxa from South Africa include Neosulcatispora strelitziae (on Strelitzia nicolai), Colletotrichum ledebouriae (on Ledebouria floridunda), Cylindrosympodioides brabejum (incl. Cylindrosympodioides gen. nov.) on Brabejum stellatifolium, Sclerostagonospora ericae (on Erica sp.), Setophoma cyperi (on Cyperus sphaerocephala), and Phaeosphaeria breonadiae (on Breonadia microcephala). Novelties described from Robben Island (South Africa) include Wojnowiciella cissampeli and Diaporthe cissampeli (both on Cissampelos capensis), Phaeotheca salicorniae (on Salicornia meyeriana), Paracylindrocarpon aloicola (incl. Paracylindrocarpon gen. nov.) on Aloe sp., and Libertasomyces myopori (incl. Libertasomyces gen. nov.) on Myoporum serratum. Several novelties are recorded from La Réunion (France), namely Phaeosphaeriopsis agapanthi (on Agapanthus sp.), Roussoella solani (on Solanum mauritianum), Vermiculariopsiella acaciae (on Acacia heterophylla), Dothiorella acacicola (on Acacia mearnsii), Chalara clidemiae (on Clidemia hirta), Cytospora tibouchinae (on Tibouchina semidecandra), Diaporthe ocoteae (on Ocotea obtusata), Castanediella eucalypticola, Phaeophleospora eucalypticola and Fusicladium eucalyptico
