Abstract

After a successful kick-off meeting in 2021. two workshops in 2022 and 2023 on the future Global Cosmic-Ray Observatory (GCOS) focused mainly on a straw man design of the detector and science possibilities for astro- and particle physics. About 100 participants gathered for in-person and hybrid panel discussions. In this report, we summarize these discussions, present a preliminary straw-man design for GCOS and collect short write-ups of the flash talks given during the focus sessions., Comment: 48 pages, 27 figures

Abstract

Measurements of the products of UHECR interactions with the Earth's atmosphere, as obtained in Extended Air Shower experiments, offer important information concerning hadronic interactions, which for some aspects overlaps and for many others complements the information extracted by measurements of collisions at human-made accelerators. Abstract

This document is comprised of a collection of updated preliminary parameters for the key parts of the muon collider. The updated preliminary parameters follow on from the October 2023 Tentative Parameters Report. Particular attention has been given to regions of the facility that are believed to hold greater technical uncertainty in their design and that have a strong impact on the cost and power consumption of the facility. The data is collected from a collaborative spreadsheet and transferred to overleaf.

Abstract

We investigate the kinematical regions that are important for producing prompt neutrinos in the atmosphere and in the forward region of the LHC, as probed by different experiments. We illustrate the results as a function of the center-of-mass nucleon-nucleon collision energies and rapidities of neutrinos and of the parent heavy-flavoured hadrons. 5. Compatibility between theoretical predictions and experimental data for top-antitop hadroproduction at NNLO QCD accuracy

Abstract

We compare double-differential normalized production cross sections for top-antitop $+ X$ hadroproduction at NNLO QCD accuracy, as obtained through a customized version of the MATRIX framework interfaced to PineAPPL, with recent data by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations. We take into account theory uncertainties due to scale variation and we see how predictions vary as a function of parton distribution function (PDF) choice and top-quark pole mass value, considering different state-of-the-art PDF fits with their uncertainties. Notwithstanding the overall reasonable good agreement, we observe discrepancies at the level of a few $\sigma$'s between data and theoretical predictions in some kinematical regions, which can be alleviated by refitting the top-quark mass value, and/or the PDFs and/or $\alpha_s(M_Z)$, considering the correlations between these three quantities. In a fit of top-quark mass standalone, we notice that, for all considered PDF + $\alpha_s(M_Z)$ sets used as input, some datasets point towards top-quark pole mass values lower by about $2\,\sigma$'s than those emerging from fitting other datasets, suggesting a possible tension between experimental measurements using different decay channels, and/or the need of better estimating uncertainties on the latter., Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, talk at "The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy Physics (EPS-HEP2023)", 21-25 August 2023, Hamburg, Germany; submitted to PoS - Proceedings of Science

Abstract

The atmospheric neutrino flux at very high energies is dominated by prompt neutrinos, mostly contributed by the decays of charmed hadrons produced in the forward direction by cosmic ray interactions with air nuclei. Theoretical predictions of the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux have large uncertainties mainly related to charm hadron production. Prompt neutrinos can also be studied through high-energy colliders. In particular, two ongoing forward experiments and the proposed Forward Physics Facility at the LHC can detect forward prompt neutrinos. We will present the kinematic regions relevant to the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux in terms of collider kinematic variables, the collision energy $\sqrt{s}$ and the center-of-mass rapidity of charm hadrons $y$, and discuss implications of the forward experiments at the LHC on the theoretical predictions of the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, a proceeding for ICRC 2023

Abstract

We outline the physics opportunities provided by the Electron Ion Collider (EIC). These include the study of the parton structure of the nucleon and nuclei, the onset of gluon saturation, the production of jets and heavy flavor, hadron spectroscopy and tests of fundamental symmetries. We review the present status and future challenges in EIC theory that have to be addressed in order to realize this ambitious and impactful physics program, including how to engage a diverse and inclusive workforce. In order to address these many-fold challenges, we propose a coordinated effort involving theory groups with differing expertise is needed. Abstract

The high-energy atmospheric neutrino flux is dominated by neutrinos from the decays of charmed hadrons produced in the forward direction by cosmic ray interactions with air nuclei. We evaluate the charm contributions to the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux as a function of the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ of the hadronic collision and of the center-of-mass rapidity $y$ of the produced charm hadron. Uncertainties associated with parton distribution functions are also evaluated as a function of $y$. We find that the $y$ coverage of LHCb for forward heavy-flavour production, complemented by the angular coverage of present and future forward neutrino experiments at the LHC, bracket the most interesting $y$ regions for the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux. At $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV foreseen for the HL-LHC phase, nucleon collisions in air contribute to the prompt neutrino flux prominently below $E_\nu\sim 10^7$~GeV. Measurements of forward charm and/or forward neutrinos produced in hadron collisions up to $\sqrt{s}=100$ TeV, which might become possible at the FCC, are relevant for the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux up to $E_\nu=10^8$ GeV and beyond., Comment: 29 pages, 11 figures

Abstract

Cosmic Probes of Fundamental Physics take two primary forms: Very high energy particles (cosmic rays, neutrinos, and gamma rays) and gravitational waves. Already today, these probes give access to fundamental physics not available by any other means, helping elucidate the underlying theory that completes the Standard Model. The last decade has witnessed a revolution of exciting discoveries such as the detection of high-energy neutrinos and gravitational waves. Abstract

High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe standard model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). In this report, we review the status of the civil engineering plans and the experiments to explore the diverse physics signals that can be uniquely probed in the forward region. FPF experiments will be sensitive to a broad range of BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in high statistics analyses with TeV neutrinos in this low-background environment. High statistics neutrino detection will also provide valuable data for fundamental topics in perturbative and non-perturbative QCD and in weak interactions. Experiments at the FPF will enable synergies between forward particle production at the LHC and astroparticle physics to be exploited. We report here on these physics topics, on infrastructure, detector, and simulation studies, and on future directions to realize the FPF's physics potential.

14. One-loop soft anomalous dimension matrices for $t\bar t j$ hadroproduction

Abstract

We calculate the one-loop corrections to the soft anomalous dimension matrices for the production of a top-antitop quark pair in association with a jet at hadron colliders. This is a step forward towards implementing a procedure for the resummation of soft-gluon emission logarithms for the $t\bar{t}j + X$ hadroproduction process, that will enable the improvement of the accuracy of the $t\bar{t} j + X$ cross sections, beyond the current degree of knowledge. The latter, so far, has reached the next-to-leading order (NLO) level, complemented by the accuracy of the Shower Monte Carlo approaches used in matching the NLO computations to parton showers (PS) and by merging with matrix elements with a different number of light jets., Comment: 29 pages, 13 figures

Abstract

Astrophysical neutrinos are excellent probes of astroparticle physics and high-energy physics. With energies far beyond solar, supernovae, atmospheric, and accelerator neutrinos, high-energy and ultra-high-energy neutrinos probe fundamental physics from the TeV scale to the EeV scale and beyond. They are sensitive to physics both within and beyond the Standard Model through their production mechanisms and in their propagation over cosmological distances. They carry unique information about their extreme non-thermal sources by giving insight into regions that are opaque to electromagnetic radiation. Abstract

Past work has proven the possibility of extracting the top-quark mass, one of the fundamental parameters of the Standard Model, from the comparison of theory predictions and experimental measurements of differential cross-sections for $t\bar{t} j~+~X$ hadroproduction. Various experimental analyses in this respect have already been performed, and new ones are in preparation on the basis of the latest data from $pp$ collisions collected at the Large Hadron Collider. We have produced and made public a comprehensive set of theoretical predictions for the relevant differential distributions, ready to be used for presently ongoing and forthcoming experimental analyses. We investigate the role of different theoretical inputs, in particular the factorization and renormalization scales, PDFs and top-quark mass renormalization schemes, and we quantify the uncertainties related to different choices for these inputs, providing recommendations., Comment: 15 pages, 6 Figures, contribution to Snowmass 2021

Abstract

Neutrino fluxes at high rapidity and at high energy are sensitive to QCD dynamics of heavy-flavor production in kinematic regions where measurements have not yet been made. The FASER$\nu$ and SND@LHC experiments scheduled for Run 3 at the LHC and the proposed Forward Physics Facility with a suite of experiments during the High-Luminosity LHC phase will probe neutrinos at high pseudorapidity. This short paper reports on recent evaluations of the prompt $\nu_\tau+\bar\nu_\tau$ and $\nu_e+\bar\nu_e$ double-differential cross sections in $pp$ collisions at the Large Hadron Collider from the production and decays of $D_s^\pm$ and $D^\pm$, respectively. For $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV, the double-differential neutrino energy and pseudorapidity distributions are evaluated at NLO QCD. Data tables with these predictions are presented. Abstract

High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe Standard Model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). In this report, we review the status of the civil engineering plans and the experiments to explore the diverse physics signals that can be uniquely probed in the forward region. FPF experiments will be sensitive to a broad range of BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in high statistics analyses with TeV neutrinos in this low-background environment. High statistics neutrino detection will also provide valuable data for fundamental topics in perturbative and non-perturbative QCD and in weak interactions. Experiments at the FPF will enable synergies between forward particle production at the LHC and astroparticle physics to be exploited. Abstract

We present phenomenological results for $t\bar{t}j + X$ production at the Large Hadron Collider, of interest for designing forthcoming experimental analyses of this process. We focus on those cases where the $t\bar{t}j + X$ process is considered as a signal. We discuss present theoretical uncertainties and the dependence on relevant input parameters entering the computation. For the ${\cal R}$ distribution, which depends on the invariant mass of the $t\bar{t}j$-system, we present reference predictions in the on-shell, $\overline{\mbox{MS}}$ and MSR top-quark mass renormalization schemes, applying the latter scheme to this process for the first time. 22. Parton distribution function uncertainties in theoretical predictions for far-forward tau neutrinos at the Large Hadron Collider

Abstract

New experiments to measure neutrinos in the far-forward region at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are under design or already in preparation. Two of them, FASER$\nu$ and SND@LHC, are expected to be active during Run 3 and have the potential to detect neutrinos that come from high-energy collisions in one of the LHC interaction points, extracted along the direction tangent to the beam line. Tau neutrinos and antineutrinos come predominantly from $D_s^\pm$ production in $pp$ collisions, followed by the leptonic decay of these mesons. Neutrino pseudorapidities in the range of $\eta>6.9$ and $\eta>8.9$ are relevant to these future experiments. At such pseudorapidities at high energies, theoretical predictions for the flux of tau neutrinos rely on parton distribution functions (PDFs) in a combination of very small and large parton$-x$ values. We evaluate PDF uncertainties in a next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD calculation of the flux of $\nu_\tau$ + $\bar{\nu}_\tau$ produced by $D_s^\pm$ decay in the far forward region at the LHC. The theoretical uncertainty associated with the 40 PDF sets of the PROSA19 group amounts to $\pm (20-30)$\% for the ($\nu_\tau$ + $\bar{\nu}_\tau$) number of charged-current (CC) events. Scale uncertainties are much larger, resulting in a range of CC event predictions from $\sim 70\%$ lower to $\sim 90\%$ higher than the central prediction. A comparison of the predictions with those obtained using as input the central PDFs from the 3-flavour NLO PDF sets of the CT14, ABMP16 and NNPDF3.1 collaborations show that far-forward neutrino energy distributions vary by as much as a factor of $\sim 2-4$ relative to the PROSA19 predictions at TeV neutrino energies. Abstract

The Forward Physics Facility (FPF) is a proposal to create a cavern with the space and infrastructure to support a suite of far-forward experiments at the Large Hadron Collider during the High Luminosity era. Located along the beam collision axis and shielded from the interaction point by at least 100 m of concrete and rock, the FPF will house experiments that will detect particles outside the acceptance of the existing large LHC experiments and will observe rare and exotic processes in an extremely low-background environment. In this work, we summarize the current status of plans for the FPF, including recent progress in civil engineering in identifying promising sites for the FPF and the experiments currently envisioned to realize the FPF's physics potential. We then review the many Standard Model and new physics topics that will be advanced by the FPF, including searches for long-lived particles, probes of dark matter and dark sectors, high-statistics studies of TeV neutrinos of all three flavors, aspects of perturbative and non-perturbative QCD, and high-energy astroparticle physics., Comment: revised version, accepted by Physics Reports

Abstract

Theoretical predictions of the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux have large uncertainties associated with charm hadron production, by far the dominant source of prompt neutrinos in the atmosphere. The flux of cosmic rays, with its steeply falling energy spectrum, weights the forward production of charm in the evaluation of the atmospheric neutrino flux at high energies. The current LHCb experiment at CERN constrains charm production in kinematic regions relevant to the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux. The proposed Forward Physics Facility has additional capabilities to detect neutrino fluxes from forward charm production at the LHC. Abstract

Prospects for quarkonium-production studies accessible during the upcoming high-luminosity phases of the CERN Large Hadron Collider operation after 2021 are reviewed. Current experimental and theoretical open issues in the field are assessed together with the potential for future studies in quarkonium-related physics. This will be possible through the exploitation of the huge data samples to be collected in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions, both in the collider and fixed-target modes. Such investigations include, among others, those of: (i) J/psi and Upsilon produced in association with other hard particles; (ii) chi(c,b) and eta(c,b) down to small transverse momenta; (iii) the constraints brought in by quarkonia on gluon PDFs, nuclear PDFs, TMDs, GPDs and GTMDs, as well as on the low-x parton dynamics; (iv) the gluon Sivers effect in polarised-nucleon collisions; (v) the properties of the quark-gluon plasma produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions and of collective partonic effects in general; and (vi) double and triple parton scatterings., Comment: Latex, 115 pages, 55 figures, 4 tables. v2: Review published in Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics

Abstract

The Forward Physics Facility (FPF) is a proposal to create a cavern with thespace and infrastructure to support a suite of far-forward experiments at theLarge Hadron Collider during the High Luminosity era. Located along the beamcollision axis and shielded from the interaction point by at least 100 m ofconcrete and rock, the FPF will house experiments that will detect particlesoutside the acceptance of the existing large LHC experiments and will observerare and exotic processes in an extremely low-background environment. In thiswork, we summarize the current status of plans for the FPF, including recentprogress in civil engineering in identifying promising sites for the FPF andthe experiments currently envisioned to realize the FPF's physics potential. Wethen review the many Standard Model and new physics topics that will beadvanced by the FPF, including searches for long-lived particles, probes ofdark matter and dark sectors, high-statistics studies of TeV neutrinos of allthree flavors, aspects of perturbative and non-perturbative QCD, andhigh-energy astroparticle physics.

28. Far-forward neutrinos at the Large Hadron Collider

Abstract

We present a new calculation of the energy distribution of high-energy neutrinos from the decay of charm and bottom hadrons produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the kinematical region of very forward rapidities, heavy-flavor production and decay is a source of tau neutrinos that leads to thousands of { charged-current} tau neutrino events in a 1 m long, 1 m radius lead neutrino detector at a distance of 480 m from the interaction region. In our computation, next-to-leading order QCD radiative corrections are accounted for in the production cross-sections. Non-perturbative intrinsic-$k_T$ effects are approximated by a simple phenomenological model introducing a Gaussian $k_T$-smearing of the parton distribution functions, which might also mimic perturbative effects due to multiple initial-state soft-gluon emissions. The transition from partonic to hadronic states is described by phenomenological fragmentation functions. To study the effect of various input parameters, theoretical predictions for $D_s^\pm$ production are compared with LHCb data on double-differential cross-sections in transverse momentum and rapidity. The uncertainties related to the choice of the input parameter values, ultimately affecting the predictions of the tau neutrino event distributions, are discussed. We consider a 3+1 neutrino mixing scenario to illustrate the potential for a neutrino experiment to constrain the 3+1 parameter space using tau neutrinos and antineutrinos. We find large theoretical uncertainties in the predictions of the neutrino fluxes in the far-forward region. Untangling the effects of tau neutrino oscillations into sterile neutrinos and distinguishing a 3+1 scenario from the standard scenario with three active neutrino flavours, will be challenging due to the large theoretical uncertainties from QCD., Comment: 39 pages, 16 figures

Abstract

The accumulation of a large amount of new experimental data at an impressive rate at present and future collider experiments has led to important questions concerning data storage and organization, their public access and usability, as well as their efficient usage in order to discriminate between different theories. For the last fourty years, the HEPData database has been the reference database for the worldwide community of elementary particle physicists, from DIS to fixed-target and collider experts. Using as a basis a dump of HEPData*, we discuss possible paths to enhance the capabilities of databases for High Energy Physics. Our starting point is the reorganization of the data in a different scheme, which allows for the application of OLAP techniques to automatically extract information at a multidimensional level, answering to complex queries. Abstract

The impact of recent measurements of heavy-flavour production in deep inelastic $ep$ scattering and in $pp$ collisions on parton distribution functions is studied in a QCD analysis in the fixed-flavour number scheme at next-to-leading order. Differential cross sections of charm- and beauty-hadron production measured by LHCb are used together with inclusive and heavy-flavour production cross sections in deep inelastic scattering at HERA. The heavy-flavour data of the LHCb experiment impose additional constraints on the gluon and the sea-quark distributions at low partonic fractions $x$ of the proton momentum, down to $x \sim 5 \times 10^{-6}$. This kinematic range is currently not covered by other experimental data in perturbative QCD fits.

Abstract

It has been conjectured that Micro Black Holes (MBH) may be formed in the presence of large extra dimensions. These MBHs have very small mass and they decay almost instantaneously. Taking into consideration quantum effects, they should Hawking radiate mainly to Standard Model particles, this radiation then gets modified by the non trivial geometry around the MBHs; the so called greybody factors which filter the Hawking radiation. To test the validity of MBH models, one needs to investigate it experimentally. A primary tool in this investigation is simulation of the MBH formation and evaporation, including all theoretical work that has been performed up to now. BlackMax and CHARYBDIS2 are the most modern and realistic simulators currently available. However they still suffer from a lack of important parameters. Abstract

We present the complete automation of the computation of one-loop QCD corrections, including UV renormalization, to an arbitrary scattering process in the Standard Model. This is achieved by embedding the OPP integrand reduction technique, as implemented in CutTools, into the MadGraph framework. By interfacing the tool so constructed, which we dub MadLoop, with MadFKS, the fully automatic computation of any infrared-safe observable at the next-to-leading order in QCD is attained. We demonstrate the flexibility and the reach of our method by calculating the production rates for a variety of processes at the 7 TeV LHC., Comment: 64 pages, 12 figures. Corrected the value of m_Z in table 1. In table 2, corrected the values of cross sections in a.4 and a.5 (previously computed with mu=mtop/2 rather than mu=mtop/4). Abstract

The high-energy atmospheric neutrino flux is dominated by neutrinos from the decays of charmed hadrons produced in the forward direction by cosmic ray interactions with air nuclei. We evaluate the charm contributions to the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux as a function of the center-of-mass energy s of the hadronic collision and of the center-of-mass rapidity y of the produced charm hadron. Uncertainties associated with parton distribution functions are also evaluated as a function of y. We find that the y coverage of LHCb for forward heavy-flavour production, complemented by the angular coverage of present and future forward neutrino experiments at the LHC, bracket the most interesting y regions for the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux. At s = 14 TeV foreseen for the HL-LHC phase, nucleon collisions in air contribute to the prompt neutrino flux prominently below Eν ~ 107 GeV. Measurements of forward charm and/or forward neutrinos produced in hadron collisions up to s = 100 TeV, which might become possible at the FCC, are relevant for the prompt atmospheric neutrino flux up to Eν = 108 GeV and beyond. We calculate the one-loop corrections to the soft anomalous dimension matrices for the production of a top-antitop quark pair in association with a jet at hadron colliders. This is a step forward towards implementing a procedure for the resummation of soft-gluon emission logarithms for the $t\bar{t}j + X$ hadroproduction process, that will enable the improvement of the accuracy of the $t\bar{t} j + X$ cross sections, beyond the current degree of knowledge. Tau neutrinos are the least studied particle in the standard model. This whitepaper discusses the current and expected upcoming status of tau neutrino physics with attention to the broad experimental and theoretical landscape spanning long-baseline, beam-dump, collider, and astrophysical experiments. This whitepaper was prepared as a part of the NuTau2021 Workshop.

Abstract

Astrophysical neutrinos are excellent probes of astroparticle physics and high-energy physics. With energies far beyond solar, supernovae, atmospheric, and accelerator neutrinos, high-energy and ultrahigh-energy neutrinos probe fundamental physics from the TeV scale to the EeV scale and beyond. They are sensitive to physics both within and beyond the Standard Model through their production mechanisms and in their propagation over cosmological distances. They carry unique information about their extreme non-thermal sources by giving insight into regions that are opaque to electromagnetic radiation. This white paper describes the opportunities astrophysical neutrino observations offer for astrophysics and high-energy physics, today and in coming years. (C) 2022 Elsevier B.V. Abstract

The precise measurement of the top quark mass, which is a fundamental SM parameter, constitutes one of the main goals of the LHC top physics program. One approach to measure this quantity uses the $\rho_\mathrm{s}$ distribution, an observable depending on the invariant mass of the $t\bar{t}j$ system. To fully exploit the experimental accuracy achievable in measuring top quark production cross sections at the LHC, the theory uncertainties associated to these measurements need to be well under control. To this end we present a study of the effect of varying the theoretical input parameters in the calculation of differential cross sections of the $t\bar{t}j$ process. Thereby we studied the influence of the jet reconstruction procedure, as well as the effect of various renormalization and factorization scale definitions and different PDF sets. The variation of the $R$ parameter in the jet reconstruction algorithm was found to have negligible influence on the scale variation uncertainty. A strong reduction of scale uncertainties and a better behaviour of the NLO/LO ratios using selected dynamical scales instead of a static one in the high energy tails of differential distributions was observed. Abstract

We present phenomenological results for t t ¯ j + X production at the Large Hadron Collider, of interest for designing forthcoming experimental analyses of this process. We focus on those cases where the t t ¯ j + X process is considered as a signal. We discuss present theoretical uncertainties and the dependence on relevant input parameters entering the computation. For the R distribution, which depends on the invariant mass of the t t ¯ j -system, we present reference predictions in the on-shell, MS ¯ and MSR top-quark mass renormalization schemes, applying the latter scheme to this process for the first time. Our conclusions are particularly interesting for those analyses aiming at extracting the top-quark mass from cross-section measurements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

We discuss how the hadroproduction of $\mathrm{t\,\bar{t}}$-pairs in association with jets, vector and/or scalar bosons is implemented in the \texttt{PowHel} framework. In this framework matrix elements obtained from the \texttt{HELAC-NLO} package are used to provide predictions of distributions at the hadron level that are correct up to next-to-leading order accuracy in perturbation theory. Abstract

We present the complete automation of the computation of one-loop QCD corrections, including UV renormalization, to an arbitrary scattering process in the Standard Model. This is achieved by embedding the OPP integrand reduction technique, as implemented in CutTools, into the MadGraph framework. By interfacing the tool so constructed, which we dub MadLoop, with MadFKS, the fully automatic computation of any infrared-safe observable at the next-to-leading order in QCD is attained. We demonstrate the flexibility and the reach of our method by calculating the production rates for a variety of processes at the 7 TeV LHC., Comment: 64 pages, 12 figures. Corrected the value of m_Z in table 1. In table 2, corrected the values of cross sections in a.4 and a.5 (previously computed with mu=mtop/2 rather than mu=mtop/4). In table 2, corrected the values of NLO cross sections in b.3, b.6, c.3, and e.7 (the symmetry factor for a few virtual channels was incorrect). In sect. A.4.3, the labeling of the four-momenta was incorrect
