Although high-temperature solid-phase methods have become the dominant route for manufacturing layered oxide cathode materials in industry, severe Li+/Ni2+ cation mixing problems caused by high-temperature processes still prevent the realization of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Herein, a wet chemical lithiation method by stepwise lithium intercalation to reduce and shorten the sintering temperature and time of the post-treatment process is proposed. Li 0.6 H x Ni 0.52 Co 0.19 Mn 0.29 O 2 stepwise products with lithiation efficiencies exceeding 60% were obtained at reaction temperatures below 200 °C. The as-prepared LiNi 0.52 Co 0.19 Mn 0.29 O 2 (HT-52-S) exhibits low Li+/Ni2+ cation mixing and good comprehensive electrochemical performance after subsequent heat treatment to complete all lithiation. Compared with LiNi 0.52 Co 0.19 Mn 0.29 O 2 (SS-52) prepared by the conventional high-temperature solid-phase method, the Li+/Ni2+ cation mixing of HT-52-S was relatively reduced by 57.9%, and the capacity retention after 100 cycles at 1 C was relatively improved by 22.1%. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have demonstrated promising advantages in the therapies of many diseases, while its multi-directional differentiation potential and immunotoxicity are the major concerns hindered their clinical translation. In this study, human umbilical Mesenchymal stem cell (hUC-MSCs) were labeled with a near-infrared fluorescent dye DiR before infused into cynomolgus monkeys, and the amount of hUC-MSCs in the peripheral blood were dynamically estimated from 5 min to 28 days post a single administration at 3 × 106 cells/kg and 2 × 107 cells/kg intravenously. As results, some hUC-MSCs distributed to the whole body within 5 min, while most of the cells accumulate in the lungs along with the systemic blood circulation, and subsequently released into the blood. The toxicity potentials of hUC-MSCs were investigated in another 30 cynomolgus monkeys, and the cells were repeatedly administrated at doses of 3 × 106 cells/kg and 2 × 107 cells/kg for 5 times on a weekly basis, with a recovery period of 1 months. hUC-MSCs showed no obvious toxic effects in cynomolgus monkeys, except xenogeneic immune rejection to human stem cells. Low levels of the hUC-MSC gene were detected in the peripheral blood of a few animals administered 2 × 107 cells/kg at 30 min subsequent to the first and last administration, and there was no significant difference in the copy number of the hUC-MSC gene in the blood samples compared with the first and last administration, indicating that the hUC-MSC was not significantly amplified in vivo, and it its safe in non-human primates. Our study for the first time verified the safety of long-term use of hUC-MSCs in primates. We have pioneered a technology for the real-time detection of hUC-MSCs in peripheral blood and provide dynamicand rapid monitoring of the distribution characteristics of hUC-MSCs in vivo. Simple Summary: The African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a linear double-stranded DNA virus characterized by a complex immune escape mechanism that has caused substantial economic losses to the global swine industry. An in-depth study of ASFV has revealed that screening for protective antigens and activating cellular immunity is essential for the development of ASF vaccines. In this study, we sought to examine the immunogenicity of the F317L protein of ASFV in mice while also identifying potential active T-cell epitopes in order to provide a basis for the functional study of the F317L protein, in addition to a reference for the subsequent development of ASF vaccines. The African swine fever virus (ASFV) encodes numerous proteins characterized by complex immune escape mechanisms. At present, the structure and function of these proteins, including the F317L protein, have yet to be fully elucidated. In this study, we examined the immunogenicity of the F317L protein. Mice were subcutaneously immunized with the F317L protein using initial and subsequent booster doses, and, at the 28th day post-treatment, we assessed the humoral and cellular immune responses of mice. The F317L protein stimulated production of specific antibodies and activated humoral immune responses. In addition, F317L stimulated the production of large amounts of IFN-γ by splenic lymphocytes, thereby activating cellular immune responses. Using informatics technology, we predicted and synthesized 29 F317L protein T cell epitopes, which were screened using IFN-γ ELISpot. Among these, the F25 (246SRRSLVNPWT255) peptide was identified as having a stronger stimulatory effect than the full-length protein. Collectively, our findings revealed that the ASFV F317L protein can stimulate both strong humoral and cellular immunity in mice, and that the F25 (246SRRSLVNPWT255) peptide may be a potential active T cell epitope. An in-depth study of the mechanisms governing the generation, evolution, and regulation of differences in tourism economics holds significant value for the rational utilization of tourism resources and the promotion of synergistic tourism economic development. This study utilizes mathematical statistical analysis and GIS spatial analysis to construct a single indicator measure and a comprehensive indicator measure to analyze tourism-related data in the research area from 2004 to 2019. The main factors influencing the spatial and temporal differences in the tourism economy are analyzed using two methods, namely, multiple linear regression and geodetector. The temporal evolution, overall differences and differences within each city group fluctuate downwards, while the differences between groups fluctuate upwards. Domestic tourism economic differences contribute to over 90% of the overall tourism economic differences. Spatial divergence, the proportion of the tourism economy accounted for by spatial differences is obvious, the comprehensive level of the tourism economy can be divided into five levels. The dominant factors in the formation of the pattern of spatial and temporal differences in the tourism economy are the conditions of tourism resources based on class-A tourist attractions and the level of tourism industry and services based on star hotels and travel agencies. This study addresses the regional imbalance of tourism economic development in city clusters and with the intent of promoting balanced and high-quality development of regional tourism economies. Urban agglomerations are emerging as new regional units for national participation in global competition and the international division of labor. However, they face increasingly severe resource and eco-environment pressures during urbanization. The coordination of the relationship between urbanization and the eco-environment has attracted global attention. In this study, we used Coupling Coordination Degree and Vector Autoregression models to examine the dynamic evolution, coupling relationships, coordinated development patterns, and interaction mechanisms between urbanization and the eco-environment. The results indicate that: (1) The level of urbanization in the Chengdu-Chongqing Urban agglomeration was relatively low, and the region showed a good eco-environment background. However, rapid urbanization is gradually straining the carrying capacity of the eco-environment. (2) A close and stable coupling relationship exists between urbanization and the eco-environment, which has reached an advanced coupling stage. The status of coordinated development among cities differs considerably, and multiple stable forms may exist simultaneously. (3) Urbanization has a substantial impact on environmental changes, whereas the restrictive effect of the eco-environment on urbanization development is not particularly notable. (4) Various interactive relationships exist between the urbanization and eco-environment subsystems, including positive promotion and negative constraint effects. The positive promotion effect mainly manifests between the economic, social, and ecological response subsystems, while the negative constraint effect is most evident in the mutual coercion and inhibition between the regional urbanization, economic urbanization, ecological status, and ecological pressure subsystems. These findings have important policy implications for decision makers exploring the path of coordinated and sustainable development in urbanization and the eco-environment in Urban agglomerations. Background: Condom use at last intercourse is an effective indicator for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention. To identify at-risk individuals and improve prevention strategies, this study explored factors associated with condomless sex at last intercourse in the last year and developed a risk estimation model to calculate the individual possibility of condomless sex among college students in Zhuhai, China. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1430 college students who had sex in the last year from six universities in Zhuhai. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and logistic regression were performed to explore the predictors of condomless sex. The nomogram was constructed to calculate the individual possibility of condomless sex. Discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were evaluated using the area under the receiver-operator characteristic curve (AUROC) and the calibration curve. Results: The proportion of students who had condomless sex at last intercourse was 18.2% (260/1430). Students who had experienced more types of intimate partner violence (aOR, 1.58; 95% CI, 1.31 ~ 1.92) and had anal sex (aOR, 1.75; 95% CI, 1.06 ~ 2.84) were more likely to have condomless sex. Students who had heterosexual intercourse (aOR, 0.37; 95% CI, 0.21 ~ 0.70), used condoms at first sex (aOR, 0.20; 95% CI, 0.14 ~ 0.27), had high attitudes towards condom use (aOR, 0.87; 95% CI, 0.80 ~ 0.95) and self-efficacy for condom use (aOR, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.78 ~ 0.90) were less likely to have condomless sex. The nomogram had high accuracy with an AUROC of 0.83 and good discrimination. Conclusions: Intimate partner violence, anal sex, condom use at first sex, attitude towards condom use, and self-efficacy for condom use were associated with condomless sex among college students. The nomogram was an effective and convenient tool for calculating the individualized possibility of condomless sex among college students. Background: The risk of workplace violence and job burnout among Chinese correctional officers is high. Stress and insomnia may influence the relationship between workplace violence and job burnout; however, this influence has been rarely studied. This study aimed to explore the effect of workplace violence on job burnout among Chinese correctional officers and to assess the contribution of stress and insomnia to this effect. Methods: In this study, the workplace violence scale, the Assens insomnia scale, the 21-item Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey scale were used to assess the workplace violence, insomnia, stress, and job burnout experienced by the 472 correctional officers, respectively. Results: The results showed that (1) workplace violence was significantly and positively predictive of job burnout, (2) workplace violence affected job burnout through the mediation of stress, (3) workplace violence affected job burnout through the mediation of insomnia, and (4) stress and insomnia played fully interlocking mediating roles in the effect of workplace violence on job burnout. Conclusion: Stress and insomnia may play a full mediating role in the relationship between workplace violence and job burnout. This suggested that correctional officers may take measures to reduce stress and improve insomnia, thereby reducing their job burnout. [Display omitted] Constructing an anode with fast electron transport and high cycling stability is important but challenging for large-scale applications of sodium-ion batteries (SIB). In this study, hierarchical flower-like MXene structures were synthesized using poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microsphere as templates. Subsequently, a straightforward hydrothermal reaction was utilized to anchor small-sized MoS 2 nanosheets. The resulting MXene@MoS 2 heterostructure exhibits a distinctive three-dimensional (3D) porous hollow architecture. This structure effectively addresses challenges related to self-aggregation of MoS 2 nanosheets and volume expansion of the electrode material during Na+ insertion/extraction processes. Furthermore, the robust hetero-interface supports fast and stable electron transfer, thereby enhancing electrochemical reaction kinetics. The prepared MXene@MoS 2 electrode demonstrates the specific capacity of 682.1 mA h g−1 at 0.2 A/g and the reversible capacity of 494.4 mA h g−1 after 1000 cycles at 5 A/g. It is noteworthy that the full battery assembled with the composite material as the anode can still maintain the capacity of 456.2 mA h g−1 after 80 cycles at 0.5 A/g. A series of ε-MnO 2 catalysts with different lattice disorder were obtained via different methods. Various characterizations and performance tests confirm that the ultrathin (1.4–1.8 nm) structure and strong lattice disorder enhance the low temperature reduction and reactive oxygen species, thereby MnO 2 -R exhibits excellent toluene and acetone oxidation activities. Inspired by this, we successfully prepared a series of ε-MnO 2 with different lattice disorder defects via several simple methods and applied them to the catalytic oxidation of two typical VOCs (toluene and acetone). Various characterizations and performance tests confirm that the ultrathin (1.4–1.8 nm) structure and strong lattice disorder can enhance the low temperature reduction and reactive oxygen species, so that MnO 2 -R exhibits excellent toluene and acetone oxidation activities. The development of urbanization and the protection of the ecological environment are important aspects of sustainable development in urban agglomerations; thus, their coordination and synergy are crucial. Scholars in both China and other countries have conducted extensive research on the relationship between urbanization and the ecological environment from the perspective of coordinated development. However, there is a lack of research on the synergistic effects of urbanization and the ecological environment. Taking the Chengdu–Chongqing urban agglomeration as an example, this study uses the Haken model to analyze the synergistic evolution mechanism, development patterns, and future trends of urbanization and the ecological environment. This study draws the following conclusions: (1) while a synergistic development mechanism has been established between urbanization and the ecological environment, the current system is still in a stage of low-level synergy, and the control system's parameter for the direction and path of evolution is urbanization. (2) From 2001 to 2020, the level of synergistic development between urbanization and the ecological environment was relatively low, mainly moving from low-level synergy to medium–low-level synergy to medium-level synergy. (3) There is a significant spatial disparity in the levels of synergistic development, for which the leading region centers on Chengdu and Chongqing in the northwest and southeast, respectively, and the lagging region comprises the eastern part of the urban agglomeration, mainly represented by Dazhou, Kaizhou, and Yunyang. (4) The future trend of synergistic development between urbanization and the ecological environment in the Chengdu–Chongqing urban agglomeration is promising but requires increased infrastructure construction in mountainous urban areas, enhanced cooperation and circulation in transportation, logistics, information and other aspects, and balanced improvements in the level of synergistic development between urbanization and the ecological environment. The study of the synergistic development effect of urbanization and the ecological environment in urban agglomerations is of great significance for reducing the negative impact of urbanization on the ecological environment, increasing the positive interaction between the two, and promoting sustainable development in urban agglomerations. Patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) exhibit an abnormal physiological arousal pattern known as hyperarousal, which may contribute to their depressive symptoms. However, the neurobiological mechanisms linking this abnormal arousal to depressive symptoms are not yet fully understood. In this review, we summarize the physiological and neural features of arousal, and review the literature indicating abnormal arousal in depressed patients. Evidence suggests that a hyperarousal state in depression is characterized by abnormalities in sleep behavior, physiological (e.g., heart rate, skin conductance, pupil diameter) and electroencephalography (EEG) features, and altered activity in subcortical (e.g., hypothalamus and locus coeruleus) and cortical regions. While recent studies highlight the importance of subcortical–cortical interactions in arousal, few have explored the relationship between subcortical–cortical interactions and hyperarousal in depressed patients. This gap limits our understanding of the neural mechanism through which hyperarousal affects depressive symptoms, which involves various cognitive processes and the cerebral cortex. Based on the current literature, we propose that the hyperconnectivity in the thalamocortical circuit may contribute to both the hyperarousal pattern and depressive symptoms. Future research should investigate the relationship between thalamocortical connections and abnormal arousal in depression, and explore its implications for non-invasive treatments for depression. Simple Summary: Beetles, among which weevils are the most diverse group, are very successful on land. The thick and hard cuticle of weevils plays an important role in their environmental adaptability. Many weevils carry the bacterial endosymbiont Nardonella, which is specialized to produce tyrosine, the key precursor for cuticle formation. The Nardonella-encoded tyrosine synthesis pathway is incomplete, lacking the last-step aminotransferase gene. The underlying mechanism of the metabolic integration between Nardonella and eukaryotic host cells remains elusive. We identified five aminotransferase genes in the red palm weevil genome, of which only RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A were upregulated in the bacteriocyte. RNA interference of the RfGOT1 or RfGOT2A gene led to a decrease in tyrosine levels in the bacteriome, confirming that these two host-encoded transaminase genes are involved in the final step of the tyrosine synthesis pathway. Notably, trafficking of RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A into the Nardonella cytoplasm was observed through immunoelectron microscopy and immunofluorescence experiments. These results indicate that the transaminases encoded by the red palm weevil can be transported to the endosymbiont to complement the tyrosine metabolic pathways of Nardonella. Our findings highlight the close relationship and intricate metabolic integration between hosts and endosymbionts. Symbiotic systems are intimately integrated at multiple levels. Host–endosymbiont metabolic complementarity in amino acid biosynthesis is especially important for sap-feeding insects and their symbionts. In weevil–Nardonella endosymbiosis, the final step reaction of the endosymbiont tyrosine synthesis pathway is complemented by host-encoded aminotransferases. Based on previous results from other insects, we suspected that these aminotransferases were likely transported into the Nardonella cytoplasm to produce tyrosine. Here, we identified five aminotransferase genes in the genome of the red palm weevil. Using quantitative real-time RT-PCR, we confirmed that RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A were specifically expressed in the bacteriome. RNA interference targeting these two aminotransferase genes reduced the tyrosine level in the bacteriome. The immunofluorescence-FISH double labeling localization analysis revealed that RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A were present within the bacteriocyte, where they colocalized with Nardonella cells. Immunogold transmission electron microscopy demonstrated the localization of RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A in the cytosol of Nardonella and the bacteriocyte. Our data revealed that RfGOT1 and RfGOT2A are transported into the Nardonella cytoplasm to collaborate with genes retained in the Nardonella genome in order to synthesize tyrosine. Background: Correctional officers tend to have high levels of work-family conflict (WFC). WFC has been found associated with various forms of psychological distress and to affect the overall well-being of correctional officers. Burnout and resilience may affect the relationship between WFC and psychological distress, however, this association still remains unclear. This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between WFC and anxiety/depression and the moderating role of resilience, within the context of correctional officers. Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted in China from October 2021 to January 2022. WFC, burnout, resilience, anxiety, and depression were evaluated using the Work-Family Conflict Scale (WFCS), Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS), 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10), and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS). Mediation and moderation models were then tested using the PROCESS macro in SPSS, with burnout being a mediator and resilience playing a moderating role in the relationship between WFC and anxiety/depression. Results: A total of 472 correctional officers were included. Burnout was found to mediate the relationship between WFC and anxiety (b = 0.14, 95%CI [0.10, 0.19]) and the relationship between WFC and depression (b = 0.23, 95%CI [0.18, 0.28]). Additionally, resilience played a moderating role in the direct effect of WFC on anxiety (b = − 0.02, p < 0.01) and the first half of the indirect effect of WFC on anxiety (b = − 0.007, p < 0.05). Furthermore, resilience was also found to moderate the first half of the indirect effect of WFC on depression (b = − 0.02, p < 0.01), but not the direct effect of WFC on depression (b = − 0.005, p > 0.05). Conclusion: The findings of the present study may improve our understanding by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of the connection between WFC and psychological distress among correctional officers. The results have significant implications for policymakers and individuals, as they suggest that diverse interventions may help promote the mental well-being of correctional officers. Clay minerals have a specific adsorption capability for anions, which increases the amount of net negative charge on the surface, leading to the increased adsorption of rare-earth ions in clay minerals and some change from exchangeable to non-exchangeable. Further, anions show a shielding effect on rare-earth ions. The shielding capacity of anions in the leaching agents for rare-earth ions was measured in this study. The relationship between the solid-phase concentration of rare-earth ions shielded and the anion concentration was consistent with the Langmuir model. Based on the Kerr model describing the exchange of rare-earth ions by ammonium ions, an ion-exchange model considering the shielding influence of anions was proposed. The accuracy of the proposed model was higher than that of the Kerr model. When the leaching agent was ammonium sulfate, the calculation accuracy of XW and AY samples was increased by 1.15% and 5.75%, respectively. The improvement in accuracy positively correlated with the proportion of iron oxides, aluminium oxides, and Kaolin. The established ion-exchange model can provide accurate source and sink terms for the numerical simulation of the leaching process of ion-adsorption-type rare-earth ores. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this study was to identify a kind of prognostic signature based on oxidative stress- and anoikis-related genes (OARGs) for predicting the prognosis and immune landscape of NSCLC. Initially, We identified 47 differentially expressed OARGs that primarily regulate oxidative stress and epithelial cell infiltration through the PI3K-Akt pathway. Subsequently, 10 OARGs related to prognosis determined two potential clusters. A cluster was associated with a shorter survival level, lower immune infiltration, higher stemness index and tumor mutation burden. Next, The best risk score model constructed by prognostic OARGs was the Random Survival Forest model, and it included SLC2A1, LDHA and PLAU. The high-risk group was associated with cluster A and poor prognosis, with a higher tumor mutation burden, stemness index and proportion of M0-type macrophages, and a lower immune checkpoint expression level, immune function score and IPS score. The calibration curve and decision-making curve showed that the risk score combined with clinical pathological characteristics could be used to construct a nomogram for guiding the clinical treatment strategies. Finally, We found that all three hub genes were highly expressed in tumor tissues, and LDHA expression was mainly regulated by has-miR-338-3p, has-miR-330-5p and has-miR-34c-5p. Altogether, We constructed an OARG-related prognostic signature to reveal potential relationships between the signature and clinical characteristics, TME, stemness, tumor mutational burden, drug sensitivity and immune landscape in NSCLC patients. The COVE trial randomized participants to receive two doses of mRNA-1273 vaccine or placebo on Days 1 and 29 (D1, D29). Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike IgG binding antibodies (bAbs), anti-receptor binding domain IgG bAbs, 50% inhibitory dilution neutralizing antibody (nAb) titers, and 80% inhibitory dilution nAb titers were measured at D29 and D57. We assessed these markers as correlates of protection (CoPs) against COVID-19 using stochastic interventional vaccine efficacy (SVE) analysis and principal surrogate (PS) analysis, frameworks not used in our previous COVE immune correlates analyses. By SVE analysis, hypothetical shifts of the D57 Spike IgG distribution from a geometric mean concentration (GMC) of 2737 binding antibody units (BAU)/mL (estimated vaccine efficacy (VE): 92.9% (95% CI: 91.7%, 93.9%)) to 274 BAU/mL or to 27,368 BAU/mL resulted in an overall estimated VE of 84.2% (79.0%, 88.1%) and 97.6% (97.4%, 97.7%), respectively. By binary marker PS analysis of Low and High subgroups (cut-point: 2094 BAU/mL), the ignorance interval (IGI) and estimated uncertainty interval (EUI) for VE were [85%, 90%] and (78%, 93%) for Low compared to [95%, 96%] and (92%, 97%) for High. By continuous marker PS analysis, the IGI and 95% EUI for VE at the 2.5th percentile (519.4 BAU/mL) vs. at the 97.5th percentile (9262.9 BAU/mL) of D57 Spike IgG concentration were [92.6%, 93.4%] and (89.2%, 95.7%) vs. [94.3%, 94.6%] and (89.7%, 97.0%). [Display omitted] Metal-organic framework (MOF) materials are promising precursors to transition into metal-nitrogen-carbon (M-N-C) catalysts with high catalytic performance. Pyrolysis is one of the most common ways to convert MOFs into electrically conductive MOF-derived M-N-C catalysts. General interests in using MOFs as precursors derive from changing the MOFs' porous structure into the carbonaceous frame. However, this favorable structure is not always maintained, with the reason unidentified since pyrolysis is currently still more of an empirical process. Understanding the pyrolysis processes leading to the transformation of MOFs into M-N-C catalysts is essential to broaden the development of MOF-derived catalysts. We report here complete chemical and morphological evolution and transformation of two commercial MOFs with the same sodalite topology, the ZIF-8 and ZIF-67, via series of in situ and ex situ techniques. The results reveal that the structure of the ZIF-67 collapses after the pyrolysis due to the graphitization of the carbon. Graphitization is catalyzed by the metallic cobalt particles formed when the temperature rose above 460 °C. The ZIF-8 was found to be a promising precursor material since most of the metal evaporates at the early stages and does not aggregate to form metal particles. However, the insufficient metal-N active sites and intrinsic low electrocatalysis availability of Zn limit the performance of the final catalyst. To maintain the porous structure of MOFs it is important to control the metal species and prevent them from agglomeration. Direct utilization of high-concentration MOFs as pyrolysis precursors is not recommended without rational design to inhibit agglomeration and graphitization that are undesirable for catalyst activity. The electric field-modulated photoluminescent (E -PL) effect has received much attention because of its potential applications in optical data storage and communication. Based on the E- induced antiferroelectric-ferroelectric (AFE-FE) phase transition, a large and reversible modulation of the PL intensity was previously realized in lanthanum-doped Pb(Zr 0.9 Ti 0.1)O 3 (PLZT) ceramics. However, such systems contain abundant leads and are thus toxic to humans and the environment. In this work, Er-doped AgNbO 3 (ANO) lead-free ceramics were prepared, and their E -PL effect was investigated. From the perspective of the crystallographic symmetry, the reversibly E -induced orthorhombic Pbcm to orthorhombic Pmc 2 1 transition results in a negative PL intensity change of 25%, which is different from the positive 30% PL modulation in the PLZT system triggered by the AFE-FE orthorhombic-rhombohedral phase transition. This symmetry-dependent negative PL modulation in ANO ceramics enriches the understanding of the E -PL effect in AFEs and provides an environmentally friendly alternative for multifunctional optoelectronics. Simple Summary: CircRNAs are involved in the tumorigenesis and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Previous studies revealed that circRNA expression was associated with 3′-end splicing. As the core executor of 3′-end cleavage, CPSF3 should modulate the circularization of circRNAs. From our research, we found that CPSF3 was highly expressed in HCC cells, and a high CPSF3 level was predictive of a poor prognosis. The increase of CPSF3 promoted the conversion of pre-mRNA processing products from circRNA to linear mRNA, thus inducing the tumorigenesis and metastasis of HCC. JTE-607, which is a chemical inhibitor of CPSF3, exerted a therapeutic effect on HCC. This elaborate work not only sheds a light on the research about the initiation and progression of HCC, but also contributes to the diagnosis and treatment of HCC. CircRNAs are crucial in tumorigenesis and metastasis, and are comprehensively downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Previous studies demonstrated that the back-splicing of circRNAs was closely related to 3′-end splicing. As a core executor of 3′-end cleavage, we hypothesized that CPSF3 modulated circRNA circularization. Clinical data were analyzed to establish the prognostic correlations. Cytological experiments were performed to determine the role of CPSF3 in HCC. A fluorescent reporter was employed to explore the back-splicing mechanism. The circRNAs regulated by CPSF3 were screened by RNA-seq and validated by PCR, and changes in downstream pathways were explored by molecular experiments. Finally, the safety and efficacy of the CPSF3 inhibitor JTE-607 were verified both in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that CPSF3 was highly expressed in HCC cells, promoting their proliferation and migration, and that a high CPSF3 level was predictive of a poor prognosis. A mechanistic study revealed that CPSF3 enhanced RNA cleavage, thereby reducing circRNAs, and increasing linear mRNAs. Furthermore, inhibition of CPSF3 by JET-607 suppressed the proliferation of HCC cells. Our findings indicate that the increase of CPSF3 in HCC promotes the shift of pre-mRNA from circRNA to linear mRNA, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation. Objective: To compare the biomechanical performance of the hybrid lumbar fixation technique with the traditional and cortical bone trajectory techniques using the finite element method. Methods: Four adult wet lumbar spine specimens were provided by the Department of Anatomy and Research of Xinjiang Medical University, and four L1–S1 lumbar spine with transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) models at L4–L5 segment and four different fixation techniques were established: bilateral traditional trajectory screw fixation (TT–TT), bilateral cortical bone trajectory screw fixation (CBT–CBT), hybrid CBT–TT (CBT screws at L4 and TT screws at L5) and TT–CBT (TT screws at L4 and CBT screws at L5). The range of motion (ROM) of the L4–L5 segment, von Mises stress of cage, internal fixation, and rod were compared in flexion, extension, left and right bending, and left and right rotation. Results: Compared with the TT–TT group, the TT–CBT group exhibited lower ROM of L4–L5 segment, especially in left-sided bending; the CBT–TT group had the lowest ROM of L4–L5 segment in flexion and extension among the four fixation methods. Compared with the CBT–CBT group, the peak cage stress in the TT–CBT group was reduced by 9.9%, 18.1%, 21.5%, 23.3%, and 26.1% in flexion, left bending, right bending, left rotation, and right rotation conditions, respectively, but not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The peak stress of the internal fixation system in the TT–CBT group was significantly lower than the other three fixation methods in all five conditions except for extension, with a statistically significant difference between the CBT–TT and TT–CBT groups in the left rotation condition (P = 0.017). In addition, compared with the CBT–CBT group, the peak stress of the rod in the CBT–TT group decreased by 34.8%, 32.1%, 28.2%, 29.3%, and 43.0% under the six working conditions of flexion, extension, left bending, left rotation, and right rotation, respectively, but not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Compared with the TT–TT and CBT–CBT fixation methods in TLIF, the hybrid lumbar fixation CBT–TT and TT–CBT techniques increase the biomechanical stability of the internal fixation structure of the lumbar fusion segment to a certain extent and provide a corresponding theoretical basis for further development in the clinic. Simple Summary: Natural products, especially plants and phytochemicals, show potential as radioprotective agents against radiation damage during cancer radiotherapy. They exhibit radioprotective effects through mechanisms such as free-radical scavenging, inhibition of inflammation, promotion of DNA damage repair, and inhibition of cell death pathways. Polyphenols, polysaccharides, alkaloids, and saponins from natural sources have radioprotective activity. However, clinical translation of these natural radioprotective agents is limited by issues such as low bioavailability, poor solubility, and high cost. Structural modification of natural compounds can improve their radioprotective efficacy and reduce toxic side effects. Radiotherapy is an important cancer treatment. However, in addition to killing tumor cells, radiotherapy causes damage to the surrounding cells and is toxic to normal tissues. Therefore, an effective radioprotective agent that prevents the deleterious effects of ionizing radiation is required. Numerous synthetic substances have been shown to have clear radioprotective effects. However, most of these have not been translated for use in clinical applications due to their high toxicity and side effects. Many medicinal plants have been shown to exhibit various biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities. In recent years, new agents obtained from natural products have been investigated by radioprotection researchers, due to their abundance of sources, high efficiency, and low toxicity. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms underlying the radioprotective effects of natural products, including ROS scavenging, promotion of DNA damage repair, anti-inflammatory effects, and the inhibition of cell death signaling pathways. In addition, we systematically review natural products with radioprotective properties, including polyphenols, polysaccharides, alkaloids, and saponins. Specifically, we discuss the polyphenols apigenin, genistein, epigallocatechin gallate, quercetin, resveratrol, and curcumin; the polysaccharides astragalus, schisandra, and Hohenbuehelia serotina; the saponins ginsenosides and acanthopanax senticosus; and the alkaloids matrine, ligustrazine, and β-carboline. However, further optimization through structural modification, improved extraction and purification methods, and clinical trials are needed before clinical translation. With a deeper understanding of the radioprotective mechanisms involved and the development of high-throughput screening methods, natural products could become promising novel radioprotective agents. We present TED-Face, a new method for recovering high-fidelity 3D facial geometry and appearance with enhanced textures from single-view images. While vision-based face reconstruction has received intensive research in the past decades due to its broad applications, it remains a challenging problem because human eyes are particularly sensitive to numerically minute yet perceptually significant details. Previous methods that seek to minimize reconstruction errors within a low-dimensional face space can suffer from this issue and generate close yet low-fidelity approximations. The loss of high-frequency texture details is a key factor in their process, which we propose to address by learning to recover both dense radiance residuals and sparse facial texture features from a single image, in addition to the variables solved by previous work—shape, appearance, illumination, and camera. We integrate the estimation of all these factors in a single unified deep neural network and train it on several popular face reconstruction datasets. We also introduce two new metrics, visual fidelity (VIF) and structural similarity (SSIM), to compensate for the fact that reconstruction error is not a consistent perceptual metric of quality. On the popular FaceWarehouse facial reconstruction benchmark, our proposed system achieves a VIF score of 0.4802 and an SSIM score of 0.9622, improving over the state-of-the-art Deep3D method by 6.69% and 0.86%, respectively. On the widely used LS3D-300W dataset, we obtain a VIF score of 0.3922 and an SSIM score of 0.9079 for indoor images, and the scores for outdoor images are 0.4100 and 0.9160, respectively, which also represent an improvement over those of Deep3D. Background: Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are large and multifunctional proteases that play an important role in detoxification, protection against biotic and abiotic stresses, and secondary metabolite transportation which is essential for plant growth and development. However, there is limited research on the identification and function of NtGSTs. Results: This study uses K326 and other six tobacco varieties (Hongda, HG, GDH11, Va116, VG, and GDH88) as materials to conduct comprehensive genome-wide identification and functional characterization of the GST gene in tobacco. A total of 59 NtGSTs were identified and classified into seven subfamilies via the whole-genome sequence analysis, with the Tau type serving as the major subfamily. The NtGSTs in the same branch of the evolutionary tree had similar exon/intron structure and motif constitution. There were more than 42 collinear blocks between tobacco and pepper, tomato, and potato, indicating high homology conservation between them. Twelve segmental duplicated gene pairs and one tandem duplication may have had a substantial impact on the evolution and expansion of the tobacco GST gene family. The RT-qPCR results showed that the expression patterns of NtGSTs varied significantly among tissues, varieties, and multiple abiotic stresses, suggesting that NtGST genes may widely respond to various abiotic stresses and hormones in tobacco, including NtGSTF4, NtGSTL1, NtGSTZ1, and NtGSTU40. Conclusions: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the NtGST gene family, including structures and functions. Many NtGSTs play a critical regulatory role in tobacco growth and development, and responses to abiotic stresses. These findings offer novel and valuable insights for understanding the biological function of NtGSTs and the reference materials for cultivating highly resistant varieties and enhancing the yield and quality of crops. Purpose: Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) are heterogeneous and complex malignancies. The present study aimed to explore potential molecular classifications and establish promising prognostic candidate biomarkers for human papillomavirus (HPV)‐negative HNSCC. Methods: We performed unsupervised clustering in HPV‐negative patients from the TCGA‐HNSCC database and identified molecular subclusters based on HNSCC prognosis. Weighted gene co‐expression network analysis was used to identify cluster‐related gene modules and identify reliable candidate genes. Biomarker signature was established from these candidate genes via 10‐fold cross validation in a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression model and validated in The Cancer Genome Atlas Program (TCGA) cohort and four external Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) validation cohorts. Results: We identified three molecular subclusters (C1–C3), and tumour microenvironment and survival evaluation results showed that C3 had high immune cell infiltration and better prognosis. However, C1 and C2 had low immune cell infiltration, and C1 had a worse survival outcome. A 20‐gene signature was established from the input candidate genes via 10‐fold cross validation in the LASSO Cox regression model. The signature was first validated in a training cohort, followed by a testing cohort and the entire cohort. A total of 347 patients from four external GEO validation cohorts indicated great performance of the signature in predicting outcomes. Conclusion: Compared with HPV‐positive patients, those with HPV‐negative HNSCC had an immunosuppressed tumour microenvironment. Human activities have notably affected the Earth's climate through greenhouse gases (GHG), aerosol, and land use/land cover change (LULCC). To investigate the impact of forest changes on regional climate under different shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs), changes in surface air temperature and precipitation over China under low and medium/high radiative forcing scenarios from 2021 to 2099 are analyzed using multimodel climate simulations from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6). Results show that the climate responses to forest changes are more significant under the low radiative forcing scenario. Deforestation would increase the mean, interannual variability, and the trend of surface air temperature under the low radiative forcing scenario, but it would decrease those indices under the medium/high radiative forcing scenario. The changes in temperature show significant spatial heterogeneity. For precipitation, under the low radiative forcing scenario, deforestation would lead to a significant increase in northern China and a significant decrease in southern China, and the effects are persistent in the near term (2021–40), middle term (2041–70), and long term (2071–99). In contrast, under the medium/high radiative forcing scenario, precipitation increases in the near term and long term over most parts of China, but it decreases in the middle term, especially in southern, northern, and northeast China. Human multidrug resistance protein 4 (hMRP4, also known as ABCC4), with a representative topology of the MRP subfamily, translocates various substrates across the membrane and contributes to the development of multidrug resistance. However, the underlying transport mechanism of hMRP4 remains unclear due to a lack of high-resolution structures. Here, we use cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to resolve its near-atomic structures in the apo inward-open and the ATP-bound outward-open states. We also capture the PGE1 substrate-bound structure and, importantly, the inhibitor-bound structure of hMRP4 in complex with sulindac, revealing that substrate and inhibitor compete for the same hydrophobic binding pocket although with different binding modes. Moreover, our cryo-EM structures, together with molecular dynamics simulations and biochemical assay, shed light on the structural basis of the substrate transport and inhibition mechanism, with implications for the development of hMRP4-targeted drugs. Background: To develop and validate a predictive nomogram for tumor residue 3–6 months after treatment based on postradiotherapy plasma Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), clinical stage, and radiotherapy (RT) dose in patients with stage II–IVA nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Methods: In this retrospective study, 1050 eligible patients with stage II–IVA NPC, who completed curative IMRT and underwent pretreatment and postradiotherapy (-7 to +28 days after IMRT) EBV DNA testing, were enrolled from 2012 to 2017. The prognostic value of the residue was explored using Cox regression analysis in patients (n=1050). A nomogram for predicting tumor residues after 3–6 months was developed using logistic regression analyses in the development cohort (n=736) and validated in an internal cohort (n=314). Results: Tumor residue was an independent inferior prognostic factor for 5-year overall survival, progression-free survival, locoregional recurrence-free survival and distant metastasis-free survival (all P<0.001). A prediction nomogram based on postradiotherapy plasma EBV DNA level (0 vs. 1–499 vs. ≥500 copies/ml), clinical stage (II vs. III vs. IVA), and RT dose (68.00–69.96 vs. 70.00–74.00 Gy) estimated the probability of residue development. The nomogram showed better discrimination (area under the curve (AUC): 0.752) than either the clinical stage (0.659) or postradiotherapy EBV DNA level (0.627) alone in the development and validation cohorts (AUC: 0.728). Conclusions: We developed and validated a nomogram model integrating clinical characteristics at the end of IMRT for predicting whether tumor will residue or not after 3–6 months. Thus, high-risk NPC patients who might benefit from immediate additional intervention could be identified by the model, and the probability of residue can be reduced in the future. Background: Cytokine-induced memory-like natural killer (CIML NK) cells have been found to possess potent antitumor responses and induce complete remissions in patients with leukemia. However, the poor infiltration of transferred NK cells is a major obstacle in developing adoptive cell immunotherapy for solid tumors. In our study, we explored the potential of using the tumor-penetrating peptide iRGD to deliver activated CIML NK cells deep into tumor tissues. Methods: After being briefly stimulated with interleukin-12 (IL-12), IL-15, and IL-18, CIML NK cells were assessed for their phenotype and function with flow cytometry. The penetrating and killing capability of iRGD-modified CIML NK cells in tumor spheroids was revealed by confocal microscopy. The anti-tumor efficacy of these modified CIML NK cells was tested in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) xenograft mouse models. Results: Treating NK cells with cytokines led to a substantial activation, which was evidenced by the upregulation of CD25 and CD137. After a resting period of six days, CIML NK cells were still able to display strong activation when targeting HepG2 and SK-Hep-1 HCC cell lines. Additionally, CIML NK cells produced increased amounts of cytokines (interferon-gamma and tumor necrosis factor alpha) and exhibited heightened cytotoxicity towards HCC cell lines. The iRGD modification enabled CIML NK cells to infiltrate multicellular spheroids (MCSs) and, consequently, to induce cytotoxicity against the target cancer cells. Moreover, the CIML NK cells modified with iRGD significantly decreased tumor growth in a HCC xenograft mouse model. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate that CIML NK cells possess augmented potency and durability against HCC cell lines in vitro. Additionally, we have seen that the incorporation of iRGD to CIML NK cells facilitates enhanced infiltration and targeted destruction of MCSs. The self has been proposed to be grounded in interoceptive processing, with heartbeat-evoked cortical activity as a neurophysiological marker of this processing. However, inconsistent findings have been reported on the relationship between heartbeat-evoked cortical responses and self-processing (including exteroceptive- and mental-self-processing). In this review, we examine previous research on the association between self-processing and heartbeat-evoked cortical responses and highlight the divergent temporal-spatial characteristics and brain regions involved. We propose that the brain state relays the interaction between self-processing and heartbeat-evoked cortical responses and thus accounts for the inconsistency. The brain state, spontaneous brain activity which highly and continuously changes in a nonrandom way, serves as the foundation upon which the brain functions and was proposed as a point in an extremely high-dimensional space. To elucidate our assumption, we provide reviews on the interactions between dimensions of brain state with both self-processing and heartbeat-evoked cortical responses. These interactions suggest the relay of self-processing and heartbeat-evoked cortical responses by brain state. Theaflavins (TFs) are good for health because of their bioactivities. Enzymatic synthesis of TFs has garnered much attention; however, the source and activity of the enzymes needed limit their wide application. In this study, a microbial polyphenol oxidase from Bacillus megaterium was screened for the synthesis of theaflavin-3,3′-digallate (TFDG). Based on structural and mechanistic analyses of the enzyme, the O-O bond dissociation was identified as the rate-determining step. To address this issue, a transition state (TS) conformation optimization strategy was adopted to stabilize the spatial conformation of the O-O bond dissociation, which improved the catalytic efficiency of tyrosinase. Under the optimum transformation conditions of pH 4.0, temperature 25 °C, (−)-epigallocatechin gallate/epicatechin gallate molar ratio of 2:1, and time of 30 min, Mu4 (BmTyrV218A/R209S) produced 960.36 mg/L TFDG with a 44.22% conversion rate, which was 6.35-fold higher than that of the wild type. In this paper, a joint detection strategy of Willie based on two phases observation is proposed and an energy‐efficient covert communication scheme with an adaptive assist nodes group (AANG) based on uniform jamming power (UJP) strategy is proposed to against the joint‐phase detection of Willie, which achieves covert communication with lower energy cost and higher average covert rate (ACR). The probability of detection error (PDE) at Willie with joint‐phase detection and ACR are derived. Furthermore, the optimal power allocation of legitimate transmitters is resolved to maximize ACR. In order to achieve effective monitoring of concrete structures for sound structural health, the addition of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into cementitious materials offers a promising solution for fabricating CNT-modified smart concrete with self-sensing ability. This study investigated the influences of CNT dispersion method, water/cement (W/C) ratio, and concrete constituents on the piezoelectric properties of CNT-modified cementitious materials. Three CNT dispersion methods (direct mixing, sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate (NaDDBS) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) surface treatment), three W/C ratios (0.4, 0.5, and 0.6), and three concrete constituent compositions (pure cement, cement/sand, and cement/sand/coarse aggregate) were considered. The experimental results showed that CNT-modified cementitious materials with CMC surface treatment had valid and consistent piezoelectric responses to external loading. Visual sensor networks (VSNs) have numerous applications in fields such as wildlife observation, object recognition, and smart homes. However, visual sensors generate vastly more data than scalar sensors. Storing and transmitting these data is challenging. High-efficiency video coding (HEVC/H.265) is a widely used video compression standard. Compare to H.264/AVC, HEVC reduces approximately 50% of the bit rate at the same video quality, which can compress the visual data with a high compression ratio but results in high computational complexity. In this study, we propose a hardware-friendly and high-efficiency H.265/HEVC accelerating algorithm to overcome this complexity for visual sensor networks. The proposed method leverages texture direction and complexity to skip redundant processing in CU partition and accelerate intra prediction for intra-frame encoding. Experimental results revealed that the proposed method could reduce encoding time by 45.33% and increase the Bjontegaard delta bit rate (BDBR) by only 1.07% as compared to HM16.22 under all-intra configuration. Moreover, the proposed method reduced the encoding time for six visual sensor video sequences by 53.72%. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic progressive autoimmune disease characterized with high recurrence, high disability, poor prognosis, and long treatment cycles. Versus western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine has the traits of definite efficacy, low toxicity, and side effects in the treatment of RA. Moreover, traditional Chinese medicine also has the advantages of multiple targets, multiple links, and multiple approaches. This study was committed to exploring the effect of Jinwujiangu prescription on peripheral blood osteoclasts in those patients with RA and relevant molecular mechanisms. We first identified 159 common targets by online pharmacology, and there were correlations among these targets; besides, the main signaling pathways involved were inclusive TNF signaling pathway, rheumatoid arthritis, IL-17 signaling pathway, NF-kappa B signaling pathway, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, etc. Through experimental verification, we found that PBMC cells extracted from human peripheral blood could be successfully induced into osteoclasts, and Jinwujiangu prescription inhibited the generation of osteoclasts from PBMCs of RA patients. CCK-8 and flow cytometry showed that osteoclast viability was significantly decreased and osteoclast apoptosis was significantly increased in the HIF-1α interference group; low-, medium-, and high-dose Jinwujiangu prescription groups; sinapine group; and hydroxychloroquine control group. Moreover, Jinwujiangu prescription and sinapine could inhibit the production of cytokines in peripheral blood osteoclasts and inhibit autophagy in RA patients. The expression level of mTOR was significantly increased in both Jinwu middle- and high-dose groups. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that sinapine, the active target in Jinwujiangu prescription, can act as a HIF-1α inhibitor; activate the mTOR pathway; downregulate the level of autophagy rate, ATG5, beclin-1, and LC3 expression; and inhibit the occurrence of autophagy. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) displays very similar characteristics to those of tumor cells, platycodin D (PD) is a triterpenoid saponin abundant in Platycodon grandiflorum (PG), plays an important role in the inhibition of tumor growth. Our previous experiments confirmed that PD inhibited MH7A cell proliferation and migration, but it's possible mechanism remain unclear. This study aimed to reveal the mechanism of PD on RA, based on network pharmacology analysis. Rat of CIA was treated with the different doses PD. The arthritis score and paw volume were evaluated, ankle imaging changes were observed via myosseous ultrasound, all rats were anaesthetized by intraperitoneal injection of 25% urethane (1 mL/100 g), and ankle histopathology was observed using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. Cell (MH7A) Counting Kit 8 (CCK8) was used to measure cell activity, and JC-1 assay kit and flow cytometry were employed to examine the cell mitochondrial membrane potential and apoptosis. The expression levels of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling pathway-related proteins were observed by Western blotting. Cell inflammation levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-6 being determined via enzyme-linked immunoassay ELISA and q-PCR. In total, the saponin PD significantly improves joint synovium inflammation and apoptosis in CIA rats. The activity of administered MH7A was significantly inhibited, the mitochondrial membrane potential decreased, the expression level of the Shh signaling pathway-related protein SuFu increased, the expression levels of SHh and Gli decreased, and cell serum levels of TNF-a and IL-6 decreased significantly. Recently, the market for emulsified chicken sausages (ECS), which are poultry meat products, has been growing owing to their excellent nutritional and eating qualities and because of their consumption is not forbidden by any cultural and religious laws. Sorghum dried distillers' grains (SDDGs), a byproduct of the brewing of Taiwan's famous sorghum wine (kaoliang liquor), are rich in nutrients; however, due to a lack of suitable processing applications, they pose serious waste problems. This study aimed to assess the quality of ECS formulated by replacing corn starch with SDDGs at levels of 0, 20, 40, 60, 80%, and 100%. ECS containing SDDGs showed substantially higher water-holding capacity (WHC) (7.83 to 15.49%), hardness (224.17 to 340.00 gf/mm2), cohesiveness (0.10 to 0.15), and lower L* (57.75 to 52.47), a* (4.95 to 3.83), b* (13.61 to 10.77), and pH values (6.04 to 5.71) compared to those of control ECS (5.35%, 185.67 gf/mm2, 0.08 and 63.03, 5.08, 14.90, 6.22) (p <.05); however, they did not affect springiness. Additionally, control ECS exhibited the lowest water loss (6.16%), fat loss (2.80%), water-holding capacity (WHC) (5.35%), cooking loss (8.96%), hardness (185.67 gf/mm2), cohesiveness (0.08), gumminess (20.12 gf), and chewiness (0.33 mJ), which substantially increased with increasing SDDGs levels; however, the L*, a*, b*, and pH values decreased. According to our results, we confirm the ECS could be prepared using SDDGs, offering potential and effectively improve the diversity of poultry meat products, establish appropriate processing and application of dried distillers' grains, and reduce waste and environmental problems caused by alcohol brewing. Background Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can cause serious lung infections in young children and there is currently no available vaccine. Methods We used complementary statistical frameworks to analyze 4 RSV serology measurements in mothers and their infants in South Africa who participated in a phase 3 maternal immunization trial of an RSV F protein nanoparticle vaccine as correlates of risk and of protection against different RSV disease endpoints. Results We found evidence to support each antibody measurement—encompassing RSV-neutralizing antibodies and F surface glycoprotein-binding antibodies—as an inverse correlate of risk of RSV-associated acute lower respiratory tract infection with severe hypoxia in at least 1 framework, with vaccine-induced fold-rise from the maternal enrollment to day 14 samples of anti-F immunoglobulin G (IgG) binding antibodies having the most consistent evidence. This evidence includes a significant association of fold-rise anti-F IgG with vaccine efficacy (VE); achieving a baseline covariate-adjusted VE of 75% requires a vaccine-induced maternal anti-F IgG fold-rise of around 16. Neither multivariable logistic regression nor superlearning analyses showed benefit to including multiple time points or assays in the same model, suggesting a parsimonious correlate. Post hoc exploratory analyses supported adherence of vaccine-induced maternal anti-F IgG fold-rise to the Prentice criteria for a valid surrogate endpoint. Conclusions Our results suggest that the vaccine induced protective anti-F antibody responses. If this finding is confirmed, VE could potentially be augmented by increasing these responses. Ion-adsorption-type rare-earth ores (IATREOs) that have experienced granite weathering have good permeability, and their leaching process involves the solute transport problem, which is dominated by convection. Because of the oscillation and dispersion errors of existing numerical methods for solving the convective-dominated solute transport equation, the results have low precision in the twin leaching process. In this paper, the convection–dispersion equation is decoupled into the dispersion equation, the convection equation, and the source-sink equation; the Crank–Nicolson and implicit difference methods are used to solve the dispersion equation and the source-sink equation, respectively. The solution of the convection equation is achieved on the basis of its physical interpretation. Therefore, a decoupling method for the convective-dominated solute transport equation is established. In comparison to the two examples with analytical solutions, the calculation errors of the method established in this paper are less than 2.00%, and it can solve the oscillation and dispersion problems. The rationality of the method is further demonstrated through the column leaching experiment of IATREOs. In comparison to the test results, the coefficients of determination of the breakthrough curves of rare-earth ions and ammonium ions calculated by the proposed method are all greater than 0.850, and the peak concentration error of rare-earth ions is less than 7.00%. This indicates that the proposed method can simulate the leaching process well. Furthermore, by combining the multiple/half method and the dichotomy method, an optimization method for determining the leaching agent amount was established to analyze the relationship between the leaching agent and the ratio of dispersion to pillar length. In this study, the quality characteristics of the following foodstuffs were studied: waxy rice, three varieties of Taiwanese banana, and banana rice cakes prepared using ripe or unripe fruit. The proportions of resistant starch (RS), total starch, and amylose were significantly higher in the ripe bananas than in the unripe bananas (p <.05). Banana rice cakes prepared from the ripe bananas had a higher cooking loss rate and greater a and b values (p <.05); conversely, those prepared from the unripe bananas had greater hardness and L values. The use of unripe bananas led to the rice cakes containing more RS (8.86, 8.53, and 8.44 g/100 g vs. 8.30, 8.15, and 7.36 g/100 g for the ripe bananas). The use of any type of banana led to higher RS content values for the resulting rice cakes than did the use of pure rice (6.67%; p <.05). The rice cakes prepared from the ripe bananas had significantly greater swelling power and solubility, and these characteristics were affected by temperature; higher temperatures were found to result in significantly higher swelling power and solubility levels (p <.05). Background: To explore the short‐ and long‐term outcomes in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)‐detected residual disease at 3 months post‐treatment who received intervention either promptly (0 month) or following observation (after an additional 3 months). Methods: A total of 272 patients with residual disease at 3 months post‐treatment (observation [observation for additional 3 months]: 122, intervention [prompt intervention]: 150) were analyzed. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to examine the survival. Adverse events were analyzed in all patients. Results: Patients in the observation group had a lower 3‐year overall survival (77.1% vs. 85.2%), progression‐free survival (10.2% vs. 18.1%), and locoregional relapse‐free survival (10.2% vs. 20.6%) (all p <.05), but not distant metastasis‐free survival (83.8% vs. 78.4%, p =.189), whereas patients in the intervention group achieved higher complete remission (CR) rates (43.3% vs. 21.2%, p =.003). Patients who achieved CR after prompt intervention had a better survival rate than those who achieved observation‐CR or non‐CR (p <.001). Multivariate analyses revealed that a wait‐and‐see policy was an independent prognostic factor for impaired survival (p <.001). No significant differences of acute or late toxicities were observed between the two groups. Conclusions: Patients with NPC with MRI‐detected residual disease 3 months post‐radiotherapy should be encouraged to undergo prompt intervention rather than adopting a passive wait‐and‐see policy. Digital audio watermarking is a promising technology for copyright protection, yet its low embedding capacity remains a challenge for widespread applications. In this paper, the spread-spectrum watermarking algorithm is viewed as a communication channel, and the embedding capacity is analyzed and modeled with information theory. Following this embedding capacity model, we propose the extended-codebook spread-spectrum (ECSS) watermarking algorithm to heighten the embedding capacity. In addition, the diversity reception (DR) mechanism is adopted to optimize the proposed algorithm to obtain both high embedding capacity and strong robustness while the imperceptibility is guaranteed. We experimentally verify the effectiveness of the ECSS algorithm and the DR mechanism, evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm against common signal processing attacks, and compare the performance with existing high-capacity algorithms. 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one (NTO)–based polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) have been widely used in insensitive munitions, but the main properties of NTO-based PBXs such as compatibility, safety performance, and mechanical properties are rarely reported. In this work, molecular dynamics simulation was carried out to study interface interactions of NTO-based PBXs, in which hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), glycidyl azide polymer (GAP), poly-3-nitratomethyl-3-methyl oxetane (Poly-NIMMO), and ester urethane (Estane5703) are selected as binders. The binding energy analysis indicates that the order of compatibility is NTO/GAP > NTO/Estane5703 > NTO/HTPB > NTO/Poly-NIMMO > NTO/EVA. Radial distribution function analysis results show that the interface interaction is mainly the hydrogen bond between H atoms of NTO and O atoms of Estane5703, HTPB, EVA, and Poly-NIMMO or N atoms of GAP. The values of cohesive energy density verify that the safety is NTO/GAP > NTO/Poly-NIMMO > NTO/HTPB > NTO/EVA > NTO/Estane5703. Mechanical properties results show that GAP and EVA would improve the plasticity of the systems effectively. Background: This study was designed to establish radiation pneumonitis (RP) prediction models using dosiomics and/or deep learning-based radiomics (DLR) features based on 3D dose distribution.Methods: A total of 140 patients with non-small cell lung cancer who received stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) were retrospectively included in this study. These patients were randomly divided into the training (n = 112) and test (n = 28) sets. Besides, 107 dosiomics features were extracted by Pyradiomics, and 1316 DLR features were extracted by ResNet50. Feature visualization was performed based on Spearman's correlation coefficients, and feature selection was performed based on the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator. Three different models were constructed based on random forest, including (1) a dosiomics model (a model constructed based on dosiomics features), (2) a DLR model (a model constructed based on DLR features), and (3) a hybrid model (a model constructed based on dosiomics and DLR features). Subsequently, the performance of these three models was compared with receiver operating characteristic curves. Finally, these dosiomics and DLR features were analyzed with Spearman's correlation coefficients.Results: In the training set, the area under the curve (AUC) of the dosiomics, DLR, and hybrid models was 0.9986, 0.9992, and 0.9993, respectively; the accuracy of these three models was 0.9643, 0.9464, and 0.9642, respectively. In the test set, the AUC of these three models was 0.8462, 0.8750, and 0.9000, respectively; the accuracy of these three models was 0.8214, 0.7857, and 0.8571, respectively. The hybrid model based on dosiomics and DLR features outperformed other two models. Correlation analysis between dosiomics features and DLR features showed weak correlations. The dosiomics features that correlated DLR features with the Spearman's rho |ρ| ≥ 0.8 were all first-order features.Conclusion: The hybrid features based on dosiomics and DLR features from 3D dose distribution could improve the performance of RP prediction after SBRT. Objective. Unexplained infertility (UIF) or recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) affects 10%–15% of couples in their reproductive years and is multifactorial and not completely elucidated. In this study, we attempt to determine the endometrial expression pattern of non-coding RNA activated by DNA damage (NORAD) in women with UIF and RPL, as well as its clinical significance. Methods. The microarray dataset GSE165004 was used to identify differentially expressed RNAs in the endometrial samples between women with RPL and fertile women and between women with UIF and fertile women. A total of 142 women were included in this retrospective analysis, including 32 women with UIF, 48 women with RPL, and 62 fertile women. The relative expression level of NORAD in the endometrial tissues was quantified by qRT-PCR. Results. NORAD stood out as an only overlapped lncRNA among differentially expressed RNAs in the endometrial samples between RPL and fertile women and between UIF and fertile women. It was showed that the endometrial tissues of UIF and RPL both were demonstrated with lower relative expression levels of NORAD (UIF: 2.09 ± 0.68; RPL: 1.98 ± 0.65) than the endometrial tissues of normal fertility (4.32 ± 1.04) (P < 0.001). Pearson correlation analysis demonstrated that the serum level of E2 was negatively correlated with the relative expression level of NORAD in the endometrial tissues of UIF (r = −0.630) and RPL (r = −0.696). Results of ROC curves showed that the endometrial expression of NORAD could be used to differentiate RPL and UIF with an AUC of 0.977 (95% CI: 0.956–0.999) and 0.970 (95% CI: 0.941–0.998), sensitivity of 0.873 and 0.955, and specificity of 0.845 and 0.948, respectively. In order to counter the double attack with wardens and eavesdroppers in the practical scenario, a distributed transmission scheme with security and covertness is proposed, which combines coding techniques and transmission protocol. The covert message is encoded by rateless codes and transmitted embedded in normal frames. The security is based on the random essence of rateless coding, and the covertness is achieved by ignoring the error frames and maintaining the signal waveform. The inter‐collusion between multiple wardens and eavesdroppers greatly increases the potential security hazards, which is first discussed in this paper. The authors can counter the inter‐collusion attack by adjusting the ratio of covert frame transmission in the distributed transmission scheme with security and covertness. Compared with the related work, this paper has many advantages, such as good robustness, lower extra complexity, and the insurance of the performance for both normal message and covert message. The analysis and simulation results show that our distributed transmission scheme with security and covertness can achieve both covertness and security based on the effective design under the existing communication system. Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is a tick-borne virus that produces severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS). It is widespread in Japan, South Korea, and Central and Eastern China. The epidemic has developed rapidly through China in recent years. SFTS cases have been reported in 25 provinces in China, mainly distributed in rural areas in mountainous and hilly areas. The infection has a high case fatality rate and no specific treatments or vaccinations. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment of SFTS infection is important to survival and disease control. Magnesium-matrix implants can be detected by X-ray, making post-operative monitoring easier. Since the density and mechanical properties of Mg alloys are similar to those of human bones, the stress-shielding effect can be avoided, accelerating the recovery and regeneration of bone tissues. Additionally, Mg biodegradability shields patients from the infection risk and medical financial burden of needing another surgery. However, the major challenge for magnesium-matrix implants is the rapid degradation rate, which necessitates surface treatment. In this study, the ZKX500 Mg alloy was used, and a non-toxic and eco-friendly anodic oxidation method was adopted to improve corrosion resistance. The results indicate that the anodic coating mainly consisted of magnesium phosphate. After anodic oxidation, the specimen surface developed a coating and an ion-exchanged layer that could slow down the degradation and help maintain the mechanical properties. The results of the tensile and impact tests reveal that after being immersed in SBF for 28 days, the anodic oxidation-treated specimens maintained good strength, ductility, and toughness. Anodic coating provides an excellent surface for cell attachment and growth. Background: Any abnormal structures that contribute to the narrowing of the ischiofemoral space could induce ischiofemoral impingement. Bernese periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) medializes the hip center and, therefore, decreases contact stress on the cartilage in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). However, medialization of the hip center might also narrow the ischiofemoral space, which may increase the risk of postoperative ischiofemoral impingement in patients with acetabular dysplasia who are undergoing PAO. Furthermore, the dysplastic hip has less ischiofemoral space and less space for the quadratus femoris. A few studies have focused on the amount of medialization of the hip center, but the proportion of postoperative ischiofemoral impingement after PAO has not been investigated.Questions/purposes: (1) What proportion of patients develop ischiofemoral impingement after undergoing unilateral PAO for DDH? (2) What radiographic factors are associated with postoperative ischiofemoral impingement in patients who underwent PAO for DDH? (3) How much hip center medialization is safe so as to avoid postoperative ischiofemoral impingement during PAO?Methods: Between 2014 and 2016, we treated 265 adult patients who had symptomatic residual acetabular dysplasia (lateral center-edge angle less than 20°) using PAO. During that time, we generally offered PAO to patients with acetabular dysplasia when the patients had no advanced osteoarthritis (Tönnis grade < 2). Of those, we considered only patients who underwent primary PAO without femoral osteotomy as potentially eligible. Based on that, 65% (173 of 265) were eligible; a further 9% (24 of 265) were excluded due to leg length discrepancy, spine disorders, or joint replacement in the contralateral side, and another 6% (17 of 265) of patients were lost before the minimum study follow-up of 2 years or had incomplete datasets, leaving 50% (132 of 265) for analysis in this retrospective study at a mean of 2.70 ± 0.71 years. The diagnosis of ischiofemoral impingement was defined by symptoms, MRI, and diagnostic ischiofemoral injection. We ascertained the percentage of patients with this diagnosis to answer the first research question. To answer the second question, we divided the patients into two groups: PAO patients with ischiofemoral impingement and PAO patients without ischiofemoral impingement. The demographic data and preoperative imaging parameters of patients in both groups were compared. There were statistical differences in acetabular version, ischial angle, neck-shaft angle, the presence of positive coxa profunda sign, McKibbin index, ischiofemoral space, quadratus femoris space, anterior acetabular section angle, and the net amount of hip center medialization. To investigate potential factors associated with postoperative ischiofemoral impingement in patients who underwent PAO, these factors underwent binary logistic regression analysis. To answer the third question, the cutoff value of the net amount of hip center medialization was evaluated using receiver operator characteristic curve and the Youden index method.Results: We found that 26% (35 of 132) of PAO dysplastic hips had postoperative ischiofemoral impingement. After controlling for confounding variables such as acetabular version, ischial angle, femoral neck version, McKibbin index, and ischiofemoral space, we found that an increasing neck-shaft angle (odds ratio 1.14 [95% confidence interval 1.01 to 1.29]; p = 0.03), a positive coxa profunda sign (OR 0.13 [95% CI 0.03 to 0.58]; p < 0.01), and an increasing net amount of hip center medialization (OR 2.76 [95% CI 1.70 to 4.47]; p < 0.01) were associated with postoperative ischiofemoral impingement in patients with DDH who underwent PAO (R 2 = 0.73). The cutoff values of neck-shaft angle was 138.4°. The cutoff values of the net amount of hip center medialization was 1.9 mm.Conclusions: Postoperative ischiofemoral impingement could occur in patients with acetabular dysplasia who have undergone PAO after hip center medialization. An increasing neck-shaft angle, a positive coxa profunda sign on preoperative imaging, and excessive medialization of the hip center are factors associated with ischiofemoral impingement development in these patients. Therefore, we suggest that physicians measure the ischiofemoral space on a preoperative CT when patients with DDH have an increasing neck-shaft angle (> 138.4°) or a positive coxa profunda sign on radiological imaging. This letter proposes a joint weighted power detector based on maximum a posteriori probability criterion for Willie aiming at two‐hop covert communication scenario, which is a near optimal detector. Instead of only supervising one single phase, Willie combines the observations of two phases to make joint decision in the proposed scheme. The proposed scheme achieves lower probability of detection error than adding‐power‐directly‐detector scheme and the existing single‐phase‐detector scheme due to sufficient utilization of the two‐phase observations.
