We have studied the crystallization reaction of polycrystalline Cu2ZnGeSe4 solar cell absorbers fabricated by H2Se selenization of sequentially deposited metal layer stacks. We have executed a stop experiment, stopping the crystallization reaction at different times during the process, then analyzing the subsequent X-ray diffraction patterns. We have found that mainly Cu3Ge and ZnSe phases form very rapidly at temperatures below 350°C. Depending on the order of the sequentially deposited metal layer stack, the formation reaction proceeds at different speeds. Putting the Ge layer in the bottom and the Cu layer on top leads to a very fast nucleation reaction of Cu2ZnGeSe4, leading to small grains that have obtained their final size already after 3 minutes of selenization at 460°C. The inverse stack with Ge on top and Cu in the bottom delays the nucleation of Cu2ZnGeSe4, leading to a somewhat slower formation reaction and larger Cu2ZnGeSe4 grains, which obtain their final grain size only after 15 minutes of selenization at 460°C.

Schluckbeschwerden erfordern ein strukturiertes Konzept an Diagnostik und Therapie. Neben der flexiblen Schluckuntersuchung und bildgebenden Verfahren ist häufig eine starre Endoskopie nötig. Diese ist bei Stenosen im oberen Oesophagusdrittel zum Ausschluss maligner Veränderungen und zur Planung weiterer Therapiemaßnahmen erforderlich. In der HNO-Klinik des AMEOS Klinikums Halberstadt stellten sich zwei Patienten mit Dysphagie und Gewichtsabnahme vor. Die Anamnese bezüglich thermischer oder chemischer Schädigungen war negativ. Eine Gastroskopie gelang aufgrund einer Enge des oberen Oesophagus nicht. Mittels CT Thorax und MR Kopf/Hals konnte eine Neoplasie ausgeschlossen werden. Der Röntgen Breischluck zeigte eine hochgradige Stenose mit Ausbildung einer „cricopharyngeal bar“. Es wurde die Indikation zur starren Oesophagoskopie gestellt. Patient 1 (männlich, 77 J.) zeigte intraoperativ ein festes Passagehindernis ohne malignitätsverdächtige Veränderungen der Schleimhaut. Bei Patientin 2 (weiblich, 70 J.) fand sich eine ringförmige Stenose unterhalb des oberen Oesophagussphinkters. Ein Lumen konnte auch mit Hilfsmitteln nicht sondiert werden. Im ersten Fall erfolgte zunächst eine Bougierung mittels Bronchoskop mit nur kurzfristigem Erfolg. Daraufhin wurde eine Therapie mit Botulinumtoxin eingleitet. Beide Therapieformen waren bei Patientin 2 nicht möglich bzw. Erfolg versprechend. Sie erhielt eine funktionelle Dysphagietherapie nach Bartolome mit Fokus auf adaptive und kompensatorische Verfahren. Beide Patienten zeigen die Notwendigkeit einer Zusammenarbeit mit Radiologen und Gastroenterologen bei der Diagnostik oberer Oesophagusstenosen. Eine chronische Mastoiditis wird zumeist durch ein, die Mastoidzellen abschottendes, Cholesteatom oder eine chronische, sekretorischen Otitis media hervorgerufen. Ein 55-jähriger Patient wurde mit glucksenden Ohrgeräuschen bei Bewegung, einer Hörminderung und einem Druck- und Völlegefühl im Bereich des rechten Ohres stationär aufgenommen. Anamnestisch besteht ein Zustand nach akuter Otitis media vor 5 Monaten. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt setzten die Beschwerden ein. Im Untersuchungsbefund waren die Tommelfelle spiegelnd und intakt. Ambulant war ein Felsenbein-CT durchgeführt worden. Hier imponiert eine partielle, liquide Verschattung einer sehr große Mastoidzelle. Im Tonschwellenaudiogramm besteht eine hochtonale Schallempfindungsschwerhörigkeit bis 45dB, jedoch keine Schallleitungsschwerhörigkeit. Es wurde eine Mastoidektomie durchgeführt. Intraoperativ bestätigte sich die im CT beschriebene große Mastoidzelle mit serösem Sekret, sowie eine weit ventral verlaufende Sinusschale und ein spitzwinkliges Abbiegen des Sinus sigmoideus. Der antro-mastoidale Übergang wurde erweitert und eine Probe der Schleimhaut entnommen, deren histologische Aufarbeitung das Bild einer geringen chronischen Entzündung aufwies. Der postoperative Verlauf war regelrecht. Auch in der nachstationären Kontrolle wurden keine erneuten Beschwerden angegeben. Eine Abschottung der Mastoidzellen im Bereich des antro-mastoidalen Übergangs ist im beschriebenen Fall vermutlich durch die anatomische Variante des Verlaufs des Sinus sigmoideus hervorgerufen worden, was zur Ausbildung einer chronischen Mastoiditis geführt hat. Auch bei unauffälligem Trommelfellbefund kann eine chronische Mastoiditis auftreten. Diagnostisch wegweisend sind in diesen Fällen die Symptomatik und Bildgebung (insbesondere DVT). International audience; We analyze data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory to produce global maps of coronal outflow velocities and densities in the regions where the solar wind is undergoing acceleration. The maps use UV and white light coronal data obtained from the Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer and the Large Angle Spectroscopic Coronagraph, respectively, and a Doppler dimming analysis to determine the mean outflow velocities. The outflow velocities are defined on a sphere at 2.3 R-circle dot from Sun-center and are organized by Carrington Rotations during the solar minimum period at the start of solar cycle 23. We use the outflow velocity and density maps to show that while the solar minimum corona is relatively stable during its early stages, the shrinkage of the north polar hole in the later stages leads to changes in both the global areal expansion of the coronal hole and the derived internal flux tube expansion factors of the solar wind. The polar hole areal expansion factor and the flux tube expansion factors (between the coronal base and 2.3 R-circle dot) start out as super-radial but then they become more nearly radial as the corona progresses away from solar minimum. The results also support the idea that the largest flux tube expansion factors are located near the coronal hole/streamer interface, at least during the deepest part of the solar minimum period.

Apple scab caused by Venturia inaequalis is a major disease in apple production. Scab epidemics during summer are driven by conidia produced only on apple leaves. In this situation, antagonists present in the phyllosphere may interfere with conidia of the pathogen during sporulation or infection. Within the EU-funded project REPCO, more than one hundred fungi were isolated from sporulating scab colonies and tested on apple seedlings for their potential to reduce sporulation of the pathogen. Since the aim of the study was to contribute to the development of a biocontrol product, only candidates were selected which fulfilled a range of additional criteria: those considered as major constraints in the development of biocontrol products. The best antagonists were applied under orchard conditions during two growing seasons. The antagonist Cladosporium cladosporioides H39 significantly reduced sporulation of V. inaequalis after most applications. However, in a few cases no effect was found. Protocols for production, down streaming and formulation have been developed for the antagonist. A new formulation as a wettable powder is now available for further orchard testing.

This paper regards the two aspects of knowledge networking: data networks for information integration and social networks for information sharing in communities. The importance of ontologies as a means for effective information integration is discussed and related to the current Web 2.0 trends. The Ontoverse ontology wiki is introduced as a tool for collaborative ontology engineering and knowledge management with particular focus on interlinking the research community within the life sciences.
