Abstract

In this note, our goal is to construct and study the multiplicity-free weight modules of quantum affine algebras. For this, we introduce the notion of shiftability condition with respect to a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix, and investigate its applications on the study of quantum affine algebra structures and the realizations of the infinite-dimensional multiplicity-free weight modules. We also compute the highest $\ell$-weights of the infinite-dimensional multiplicity-free weight modules as highest $\ell$-weight modules.

Abstract

The artificial intelligence (AI) system has achieved expert-level performance in electrocardiogram (ECG) signal analysis. However, in underdeveloped countries or regions where the healthcare information system is imperfect, only paper ECGs can be provided. Analysis of real-world ECG images (photos or scans of paper ECGs) remains challenging due to complex environments or interference. In this study, we present an AI system developed to detect and screen cardiac abnormalities (CAs) from real-world ECG images. The system was evaluated on a large dataset of 52,357 patients from multiple regions and populations across the world. On the detection task, the AI system obtained area under the receiver operating curve (AUC) of 0.996 (hold-out test), 0.994 (external test 1), 0.984 (external test 2), and 0.979 (external test 3), respectively. Meanwhile, the detection results of AI system showed a strong correlation with the diagnosis of cardiologists (cardiologist 1 (R=0.794, p<1e-3), cardiologist 2 (R=0.812, p<1e-3)). On the screening task, the AI system achieved AUCs of 0.894 (hold-out test) and 0.850 (external test). The screening performance of the AI system was better than that of the cardiologists (AI system (0.846) vs. cardiologist 1 (0.520) vs. cardiologist 2 (0.480)). Our study demonstrates the feasibility of an accurate, objective, easy-to-use, fast, and low-cost AI system for CA detection and screening. 20. Efficacy and safety of a novel hexaspline pulsed field ablation system in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation: the PLEASE-AF study.

Abstract

Aims Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is an emerging non-thermal ablative modality demonstrating considerable promise for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, these PFA trials have almost universally included only Caucasian populations, with little data on its effect on other races/ethnicities. The PLEASE-AF trial sought to study the 12-month efficacy and the safety of a multi-electrode hexaspline PFA catheter in treating a predominantly Asian/Chinese population of patients with drug-refractory paroxysmal AF. Methods and results Patients underwent pulmonary vein (PV) isolation (PVI) by delivering different pulse intensities at the PV ostium (1800 V) and atrium (2000 V). Acute success was defined as no PV potentials and entrance/exit conduction block of all PVs after a 20-min waiting period. Follow-up at 3, 6, and 12 months included 12-lead electrocardiogram and 24-h Holter examinations. The primary efficacy endpoint was 12-month freedom from any atrial arrhythmias lasting at least 30 s. The cohort included 143 patients from 12 hospitals treated by 28 operators: age 60.2 ± 10.0 years, 65.7% male, Asian/Chinese 100%, and left atrial diameter 36.6 ± 4.9 mm. All PVs (565/565, 100%) were successfully isolated. The total procedure, catheter dwell, total PFA application, and total fluoroscopy times were 123.5 ± 38.8 min, 63.0 ± 30.7 min, 169.7 ± 34.6 s, and 27.3 ± 10.1 min, respectively. The primary endpoint was observed in 124 of 143 patients (86.7%). One patient (0.7%) developed a small pericardial effusion 1-month post-procedure, not requiring intervention. Conclusion The novel hexaspline PFA catheter demonstrated universal acute PVI with an excellent safety profile and promising 12-month freedom from recurrent atrial arrhythmias in an Asian/Chinese population with paroxysmal AF. Abstract

Flooding is a natural disaster that coexists with human beings and causes severe loss of life and property worldwide. Although numerous studies for flood susceptibility modelling have been introduced, a notable gap has been the overlooked or reduced consideration of the uncertainty in the accuracy of the produced maps. Challenges such as limited data, uncertainty due to confidence bounds, and the overfitting problem are critical areas for improving accurate models. We focus on the uncertainty in susceptibility mapping, mainly when there is a significant variation in the predictive relevance of the predictor factors. It is also noted that the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve may not accurately depict the sensitivity of the resulting susceptibility map to overfitting. Therefore, reducing the overfitting problem was targeted to increase accuracy and improve processing time in flood prediction. This study created a spatial repository to test the models, containing data from historical flooding and twelve topographic and geo-environmental flood conditioning variables. Then, we applied random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) algorithms to map flood susceptibility, incorporating a variable drop-off in the empirical loop function. The results showed that the drop-off loop function was a crucial method to resolve the model uncertainty associated with the conditioning factors of the susceptibility modelling and methods. The results showed that approximately 8.42% to 9.89% of Marib City and 9.93% to 15.69% of Shibam City areas were highly vulnerable to floods. Furthermore, this study significantly contributes to worldwide endeavors focused on reducing the hazards linked to natural disasters. Abstract

In this paper, we investigated the electrical properties of the Metal-oxide-semiconductor gate stack of Ti/Al2O3/InP under different annealing conditions. A minimum interface trap density of 3×1011cm-2eV-1 is obtained without postmetallization annealing treatment. Additionally, utilizing Ti/Al2O3/InP MOS gate stack, we fabricated ultra-thin body buried In0.35Ga0.65As channel MOSFETs on Si substrates with optimized on/off trade-off. The 200nm gate length device with extremely low off-current of 0.6nA/µm, and on-off ratio of 3.3×105, is demonstrated by employing buried low indium (In0.35Ga0.65As) channel with InP barrier/spacer device structure, giving strong potential for future highperformance and low-power applications.

Abstract

Multicomponent oxide (GaxIn1−x)2O3 films are prepared on (0001) sapphire substrates to realize a tunable band-gap by magnetron sputtering technology followed by thermal annealing. The optical properties and band structure evolution over the whole range of compositions in ternary compounds (GaxIn1−x)2O3 are investigated in detail. The X-ray diffraction spectra clearly indicate that (GaxIn1−x)2O3 films with Ga content varying from 0.11 to 0.55 have both cubic and monoclinic structures, and that for films with Ga content higher than 0.74, only the monoclinic structure appears. The transmittance of all films is greater than 86% in the visible range with sharp absorption edges and clear fringes. In addition, a blue shift of ultraviolet absorption edges from 380 to 250 nm is noted with increasing Ga content, indicating increasing band-gap energy from 3.61 to 4.64 eV. The experimental results lay a foundation for the application of transparent conductive compound (GaxIn1−x)2O3 thin films in photoelectric and photovoltaic industry, especially in display, light-emitting diode, and solar cell applications.
