N6-methyladenosine (m6A), a well-characterized RNA modification, is involved in regulating multiple biological processes; however, genome-wide identification and functional characterization of the m6A modification in legume plants, including soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), remains lacking. In this study, we utilized bioinformatics tools to perform comprehensive analyses of molecular writer candidates associated with the RNA m6A modification in soybean, characterizing their conserved domains, motifs, gene structures, promoters, and spatial expression patterns. Thirteen m6A writer complex genes in soybean were identified, which were assigned to four families: MT-A70, WTAP, VIR, and HAKAI. It also can be identified that multiple cis elements in the promoters of these genes, which were classified into five distinct groups, including elements responsive to light, phytohormone regulation, environmental stress, development, and others, suggesting that these genes may modulate various cellular and physiological processes in plants. Importantly, the enzymatic activities of two identified m6A writers, GmMTA1 and GmMTA2, were confirmed in vitro. Furthermore, we analyzed the expression patterns of the GmMTAs and GmMTBs under different abiotic stresses, revealing their potential involvement in stress tolerance, especially in the response to alkalinity or darkness. Overexpressing GmMTA2 and GmMTB1 in soybean altered the tolerance of the plants to alkalinity and long-term darkness, further confirming their effect on the stress response. Collectively, our findings identified the RNA m6A writer candidates in leguminous plants and highlighted the potential roles of GmMTAs and GmMTBs in the response to abiotic stress in soybean.

Objective: To achieve accurate application of kappa-carrageenan as a gelling agent in food industries such as processed meats, dairy, desserts and jellies, as well as seamless capsule in pharmaceuticals and crushable beads in tobaccos. Methods: The viscosities of kappa-carrageenan solution prepared at different hydration temperature, different dosages of kappa-carrageenan dosage and potassium chloride were measured by digital viscometer. Results: ① The hydration temperature had a great influence on the viscosity of kappa-carrageenan gel solution. With the increasing hydration temperature （fixed hydration time at 1 h）, the viscosity of kappa-carrageenan gel solution decreased. Generally the higher the dosage of kappa-carrageenan, the greater the decrease of viscosity. ② The viscosity of kappa-carrageenan solution increased exponentially with increasing dosage. ③ The presence of KCl had little effect on the viscosity at low dosage of kappa-carrageenan. However, the viscosity of kappa-carrageenan solutions at higher dosages increased with the increasing KCl dosage. Conclusion: Hydration temperature and gel dosage had important effects on the viscosity of kappa-carrageenan, while the amount of potassium chloride had relatively little effect on the viscosity.

In the federated average algorithm,the weight update is used to update the global model.The algorithm only considers the size of the data volume of each client when the weight is updated,and does not consider the impact of data quality on the mo-del.An improvement based on analytic hierarchy is proposed.The federated averaging algorithm is the first to process multi-source data from the perspective of data quality.First,the entropy method is used to calculate the importance of each attribute in the data,and it is used as the value of the criterion layer in the level analysis to calculate the data of each client quality.Then,combined with the amount of data on the client,the weight update method is recalculated in the global model.The simulation results show that for small and medium data sets,the model trained with support vector machines has the highest accuracy,rea-ching 85.7152%.For large data sets,the model trained with random forest has the highest accuracy,reaching 91.9321%.Compared with the traditional federal average method,the accuracy rate is increased by 3.5% on small and medium data sets and 1.3% on large data sets,which can improve the accuracy of the model while improving the security of the data and model.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a novel three-dimensional (3D) spinal decompression and correction device in improving the in-brace correction and patient comfort level for adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), and to assess the impact of the number of vertebrae involved in the scoliotic curve on the correction's effectiveness. A single-centre, single-blinded randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted in 110 AIS patients aged 10–18 years who were randomly allocated into four groups receiving 0–3 days of device intervention. Each session lasted for 30 min and was conducted twice daily. Significant improvements were observed in both the in-brace correction ratio and patient comfort level, particularly in the 2- and 3-day intervention groups (p < 0.001). The number of involved vertebrae for a scoliotic curve was positively correlated with the in-brace correction ratio in the no intervention (or 0-day) and 1-day intervention groups, while this correlation varied in the 2- and 3-day intervention groups. These findings suggested that the prolonged use of the 3D device could improve the correction ratios and patient comfort, while the role of vertebrae involvement in predicting the initial correction may require further exploration to optimize personalized treatment strategies in future clinical practice. Bibenzyl compounds are one of the most important bioactive components of natural medicine. However, Dendrobium officinale as a traditional herbal medicine is rich in bibenzyl compounds and performs functions such as acting as an antioxidant, inhibiting cancer cell growth, and assisting in neuro-protection. The biosynthesis of bibenzyl products is regulated by bibenzyl synthase (BBS). In this study, we have cloned the cDNA gene of the bibenzyl synthase (DoBS1) from D. officinale using PCR with degenerate primers, and we have identified a novel type III polyketide synthase (PKS) gene by phylogenetic analyses. In a series of perfect experiments, DoBS1 was expressed in Escherichia coli, purified and some catalytic properties of the recombinant protein were investigated. The molecular weight of the recombinant protein was verified to be approximately 42.7 kDa. An enzyme activity analysis indicated that the recombinant DoBS1-HisTag protein was capable of using 4-coumaryol-CoA and 3 malonyl-CoA as substrates for dihydroresveratrol (DHR) in vitro. The Vmax and Km of the recombinant protein for DHR were 3.57 ± 0.23 nmol·min−1·mg−1 and 0.30 ± 0.08 mmol, respectively. The present study provides further insights into the catalytic mechanism of the active site in the biosynthetic pathway for the catalytic production of dihydroresveratrol by bibenzylase in D. officinale. Al-Mg alloys are widely used as important engineering structural materials in aerospace engineering, transportation systems, and structural constructions due to their low density, high specific strength, corrosion resistance, welding capability, fatigue strength, and cost-effectiveness. However, the conventional Al-Mg alloys can no longer fully satisfy the demands of practical production due to difficulties caused by many defects. The high strength of Al-Mg alloys as non-heat treatment precipitation-strengthened alloys is achieved primarily by solid solution strengthening along with work hardening rather than precipitation strengthening. Therefore, severe plastic deformation (SPD) techniques can be often used to produce ultrafine-grained structures to fabricate ultra-high strength aluminum alloys. However, this approach often achieves the strengthening of material at the cost of reduced ductility. This paper comprehensively summarizes the various approaches of ultrafine/nanocrystalline materials for enhancing their plasticity, elaborates on the creation of a bimodal microstructure within the alloy, and discusses the formation of a nanotwin microstructure within the alloy and the incorporation of dispersed nanoparticles. The mechanisms underlying both the strengthening and toughening during large plastic deformation in aluminum alloys are summarized, and the future research direction of high-performance ultrafine crystalline and nanocrystalline Al-Mg aluminum alloys is prospected. The antennal sensilla play an important role in many behavioral activities of insects. The fungivorous beetle Triplax ainonia Lewis (Erotylidae) is an important pest which prefers to feed on Pleurotus mushrooms. In order to clarify the types, number, and distribution of the antennal sensilla of male and female T. ainonia, scanning electron microscopy was used. The results showed that there were five sensillum types on the antennae of adults male and female, including Böhm's bristles (BB), sensilla chaetica (three subtypes: SC 1, SC 2, and SC 3), sensilla basiconica (three subtypes: SB 1, SB 2, and SB 3), sensilla trichodea (ST), and sensilla styloconica (SS). Among all the sensilla, the number of SB 2 was the most abundant in both sexes. We found that there was no sexually dimorphic in the sensillum types, but there were differences in the number, lengths, and diameters of some sensilla between males and females. Based on the information of the morphology and distribution of the sensilla, the potential functions of the antennal sensilla of T. ainonia adults were discussed. The results of this study provide a basis for further study on the behavioral ecology and electrophysiology of the fungivore beetles of the Erotylidae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The comprehensive quality enhancement and grading of coal are crucial methods for unlocking the high value-added and low-carbon utilization of coal resources. In this work, the influence of oily bubbles on the flotation of Shendong Jurassic vitrinite-rich coal and inertinite-rich coal was studied via flotation tests, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), contact angle detection, and induction time measurements. FT-IR and XPS analyses demonstrated that the surface of inertinite-rich coal contains more hydrophilic oxygen-containing functional groups. Contact angle and induction time measurements showed that the vitrinite-rich coal is more hydrophobic than inertinite-rich coal, and that for both air and oily bubbles, the induction time on the surface of vitrinite-rich coal is shorter than that on the surface of inertinite-rich coal. In addition, rather remarkably, the induction times for both vitrinite-rich coal and inertinite-rich coal are significantly reduced by oily bubbles. Finally, a better flotation performance for oily bubble flotation of vitrinite-rich coal and inertinite-rich coal was found. It appears that oily bubble flotation is an efficient method for enhancing the recovery of vitrinite-rich coal and inertinite-rich coal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
