The potential of Electric Vehicles (EVs) to decarbonize the transportation industry has attracted a lot of attention in recent years in response to growing environmental concerns. Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCSs) need to be properly located for widespread EV integration. The distribution system is facing additional challenges due to inclusion of EVCS. The adverse impacts of EVCS on the Radial Distribution Network (RDN) may be minimized using Distributed Generations (DGs) or Distribution Static Compensators (DSTATCOMs) or by reconfiguring the network. This paper uses a novel optimization technique to solve the problem of simultaneous optimal placement of EVCS with network reconfiguration and optimal planning (siting and sizing) of DGs and DSTATCOMs. The multiple objective functions are considered in order to minimize the active power losses, the voltage deviation, the investment costs for DGs and DSTATCOMs, and to increase the voltage stability of the system. A novel meta-heuristic Cheetah Optimization Algorithm (COA) is used to solve the optimization problem. To examine the effectiveness of the suggested strategy on 33-bus and 136-bus networks, several scenarios of simultaneous incorporation of EVCS, DG, and DSTATCOM installations with network reconfiguration are taken into consideration. The COA results are also compared to the results of grey wolf optimization and genetic algorithms.

This qualitative study explores the experiences of Dalit students in one of the state universities of Uttar Pradesh in India. An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was conducted to understand the experiences of Dalit students at higher education institutions, including caste-based prejudice and discrimination on campus. A total of seven themes emerged indicating caste-based prejudice and discrimination against Dalit students in both explicit and subtle ways at various levels of the university. Caste-based discrimination, humiliation, and exclusion were experienced by Dalit students at the level of fellow students, faculty, and administration.

In recent years, researchers have incorporated Ubuntu as a research paradigm to decolonize research in a sub-Saharan African context. The present article used international collaborative qualitative research conducted virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic to demonstrate the application of Ubuntu as a research paradigm for conducting research in the African context. Some of the key takeaways include technological factors to consider, establishing connections during the planning stage, and ultimately nurturing productive collaboration within virtual groups. This paper presents a three-phase induction motor (IM) drive comprising a single-phase Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) converter with an active power decoupling (APD) as an active front-end converter (AFEC) to reduce the size of a DC link capacitor. Consequently, film capacitors can be used in place of bulky electrolytic capacitors that improve the power density, reliability, and cost of AFECs. A control scheme for an APD circuit is developed to mitigate the ripple power, and to control the three-phase IM, a maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control scheme is implemented. A Simulink model of the proposed system rated for 3.73 kW, 200 V, and 50 Hz three-phase IM drive and its equivalent prototype model are developed in a laboratory and the APD and the MTPA control schemes are implemented with the help of STM32F407VG, a 32-bit microcontroller and dSPACE 1104, respectively. This paper demonstrates the experimental verification of the concepts for APD and MTPA control. Further, a significant reduction in motor current at starting/light load conditions is observed that leads to lower energy requirements. The prospective application of these schemes includes railway traction drive, electric vehicles, and so on, where compactness, reliability, and lower energy requirements are the prime concerns. In the present investigation, the natural product cearoin is studied by both experimental and theoretical methods. It is classified as a family of neoflavonoid and is widely used as a local anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antiallergic substance. To obtain detailed information about the discussed molecule, a number of experiments have been performed by various techniques including infrared, Raman, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Quantum chemical calculations were also performed for a clear interpretation and analysis of the results. HOMO-LUMO energy band gap gives a valuable understanding of the reactivity and some of the structural and physical properties of the theme molecule. Molecular electrostatic potential surface, global and local reactivity descriptors are used to study the chemical reactivity of the molecule. Natural bond orbital analysis is followed to figure out the stability of the molecule arising from hyperconjugative interactions and charge delocalization. As cearoin is utilized as an antibiotic material, molecular docking simulations have also been done on bacterial proteins to investigate the ligandprotein interaction. L'information experimentale sur la molecule est obtenue via diverses techniques spectroscopiques, incluant infrarouge, Raman et UV-visible. Nous completons des calculs de chimie quantique pour une interpretation et une analyse claire des resultats. Les bandes d'energie interdites HO-BV (HOMO-LUMO) nous renseignent sur la reactivite et certaines proprietes structurelles et physiques de la molecule. Nous utilisons la surface de potentiel electrostatique moleculaire et les descripteurs de reactivite globale et locale pour etudier la reactivite chimique de la molecule. Une etude d'orbite de liaison naturelle permet de determiner la stabilite de la molecule provenant des interactions d'hyperconjugation et de la delocalisation de la charge. Puisque la cearoine est utilisee comme antibiotique, nous completons des simulations d'amarrage moleculaire sur les proteines des bacteries de facon a etudier l'interaction ligand-proteine. In view of the attractive features like improved torque density, reduction torque pulsation, superior fault tolerance, reduced power rating of voltage source converter, and sterling noise characteristics of six-phase asymmetrical induction motor (SPAIM) as compared to its three-phase counterpart, the SPAIM is considered for the study. In this paper, mathematical modelling of SPAIM is carried out in the synchronous reference frame and then indirect rotor field-oriented control (IRFOC) of SPAIM using a modified carrier wave-based space vector modulation (SVM) scheme is developed. A Simulink model of the proposed system configuration is developed and a simulation study is carried out. In order to validate the simulation results, a scaled prototype model of SPAIM rated for 2 HP, 4-pole, 200V is developed, and closed loop control of SPAIM drive with aforesaid modified SVM technique is implemented using TMS320F28379D controller board. The performance of the system is observed in several operating conditions with simulation studies using MATLAB/Simulink and test setup and various test results are recorded under several operating conditions and presented. Furthermore, the proposed SVM technique is compared with benchmarked SPWM and hysteresis current controller as well and it is observed that it outperforms traditional SPWM and hysteresis-based current controllers in terms of the distortion of stator currents and torque ripples.
