Straipsnyje atskleidžiamas Lietuvos ir Japonijos socialinio darbo studijų programų dėstytojų požiūris į iššūkius, kuriuos kelia šiuolaikinės technologijos, transformuodamos socialinio darbo profesiją ir studijas. Atvejo analizė atskleidė, kad „prisijaukinti technologijas“ ir optimaliai su jomis „bendradarbiauti“ yra pagrindinis šių laikų socialinio darbo praktikos ir studijų tikslas. Nors manoma, kad technologijų plėtra suteikia daugiau galimybių įgyvendinti socialinio darbo misiją, jaučiamas nuogąstavimas, kad technologijos pakeis socialinio darbo, kaip žmogiškų santykių profesijos, esmę, sukurs modifikuotas socialinės atskirties formas. Visgi įžvelgiama ir nišų naujiems socialinio darbuotojo vaidmenims padedant technologijų „okupuotam“ pasauliui išlikti „socialiam“. Tyrimo dalyvių vertinimus galima sieti su tradicine socialumo samprata ir socialinio darbo, kaip išskirtinai žmogiškų santykių sričiai priklausančios profesijos, vizija. Šioje situacijoje vertinga prisiminti B. Latouro nuostatą, kad pastangos atsekti nežmogiškos prigimties veikėjų indėlį į tai, kas priklauso žmonių pasauliui, gali būti sėkmingesnės tada, kai į pasaulį nustojama žvelgti išskirtinai žmogaus akimis, o bandoma atskleisti vidines mišrios prigimties reiškinių perspektyvas arba asocialaus socialumo sampratą. This article explores the attitudes of Japanese and Lithuanian social work program teachers towards the challenges posed by modern technologies that may transform social work profession and studies. Study data revealed that scientists from both countries admit that “taming” technologies and optimally “cooperating” with them is the main challenge of social work practice and studies. On the one hand, belief that technological development will provide more opportunities to fulfil the mission of social work was prevalent among the study participants, on the other hand, they had expressed concern that eventually the use of technology will change the essence of social work as a profession of human relations or will create modified forms of social exclusion. Additionally, a niche for the new role of the social worker was identified: to help the world “occupied” by technology remain “social”. Attitudes of research participants from both Lithuania and Japan can be linked to traditional concept of sociality and vision of social work as profession that belongs exclusively to area of human relations. B. Latour’s asocial sociality concept can be applied for broader look into this situation. This concept states that efforts to trace the contribution of actors of an inhuman nature to what belongs in the human world may be more successful when one ceases to view the world exclusively through human eyes and tries to reveal the inner perspectives of phenomena of a mixed nature. Socialinio verslo fenomenas, užsienyje nagrinėjamas nuo XX a. paskutinio dešimtmečio, Lietuvoje dar yra gana naujas ir mažai paliečiamas moksliniame diskurse. Šio straipsnio tikslas yra atskleisti Lietuvoje veikiančių socialinio verslo pionierių patirtį kuriant ir plėtojant socialinio verslo modelį. Pirmose straipsnio dalyse aptariamos skirtingos socialinio verslo sampratos, jo istorija, sąsajos su verslo socialine atsakomybe ir paskirtis šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje. Tolesnėse dalyse analizuojama autentiška buvimo socialinio verslo ledlaužiais biurokratizuotoje sistemoje praktika. Remiamasi kokybiniais pusiau struktūruotais interviu, atliktais 2018–2019 metais su 14 socialinio verslo organizacijų įkūrėjų. Duomenys analizuoti pasitelkiant kokybinės turinio analizės metodą. Apibendrinus tyrimo rezultatus, galima teigti, kad socialiniai verslininkai Lietuvoje susiduria su įvairiais iššūkiais bendradarbiaudami su valstybės institucijomis ir savivaldybėmis, bandydami rasti tinkamą finansavimo modelį ir patirdami visuomenės nežinojimą ar abejingumą socialiniam verslui. Tačiau jie vis tiek imasi šios veiklos, nes jaučia ypatingą besiburiančios iniciatyvių bendraminčių bendruomenės palaikymą. Be šio palaikymo būtų sunkiai įmanomas socialinio verslo egzistavimas ir plėtra Lietuvoje. The phenomenon of social entrepreneurship is sufficiently well-researched abroad since the end of the 20th century. Nevertheless, it is quite a new and under-researched subject in Lithuanian academic discourse. The goal of this article is to explore the experiences of pioneers of social entrepreneurship in Lithuania, the way they create and develop the model of social entrepreneurship. The first half of the article discusses various concepts of social entrepreneurship, its historical development, connections with corporate social responsibility and its purpose in contemporary societies. The second part describes the authentic experiences of being the icebreakers of social business practices in bureaucratic system. Results are based on semi-structured qualitative interviews, conducted in autumn 2018 - spring 2019, with 14 social entrepreneurs in Lithuania. The analysis was done following the approach of grounded theory. The research shows, that social entrepreneurs experience various challenges while cooperating with governmental institutions or municipalities while searching for suitable funding models and experiencing ignorance from society in general. Nevertheless, they still engage in these activities with the help and support of an emerging community of active like-minded social entrepreneurs, whose support is essential for the existence and development of social entrepreneurship in Lithuania.

Straipsnyje gilinamasi į vaiko gerovės darbuotojų veiklos ypatumus institucinės agresijos aplinkoje. Remiantis agresijos darbo vietoje samprata, tam tikrų institucijų sankcionuota darbuotojo vykdoma prievarta (pavyzdžiui, vaiko paėmimo iš šeimos atveju) nėra traktuojama kaip agresija darbo vietoje ar įtraukiama į darbo vietos kokybę apibūdinančių rodiklių sistemą. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą straipsnyje argumentuojama, kad kovodamas su stresu, patiriamu paimant vaiką iš šeimos, darbuotojas neretai naudoja kliento objektyvizavimo strategiją, kuri gali būti traktuojama kaip agresijos forma. Taigi, institucinės agresijos inkorporavimas į agresijos darbo vietoje sampratą yra pagrindas pastarosios koncepcijos peržiūrėjimui, papildymui, kai kalbame apie darbuotojo gerovę, jo darbo vietos kokybę. Studies show that practice in some professional fields may be socially and morally unattractive: employees working with stigmatized groups have to use methods, related to aggression and confrontation, which leads to stress and reduces their professional well-being. This applies to child rights and protection institutions which have a responsibility to take a child out of the family in the case of a threat to their safety. Problems related to workplace quality lead to a lack of qualified employees in this sector, and this problem is emphasized not only in Lithuania. Institutional aggression is typical of institutions to which the state attributes certain functions of abuse (e.g. public safety). Employee’s intervention into the family can also be regarded as aggression performed by institutions, and the nature of work in these institutions may be associated with the problem of workplace aggression. However, in the research on workplace quality among the indicators of workplace aggression we do not find the indicator of employees’ aggression against clients. We presume that an employee’s function to take a child from a family (the use of coercion) can affect their well-being. So, in the context of workplace quality, the concept of workplace aggression has to be re-conceptualized by including institutional aggression enforced by an employee.

Šio straipsnio tikslas – identifikuoti stigmos apraiškas asmeniniu, struktūriniu ir visuomeniniu lygmeniu, jos poveikį Lietuvos psichikos sveikatos priežiūros sistemai, sutrikusios psichikos asmenims ir šioje srityje priimamiems politiniams sprendimams. Pristatomi 2015–2016 m. tyrimų duomenys: žiniasklaidos diskurso analizė, psichikos sveikatos centrų pacientų subjektyvaus požiūrio į gautą gydymą tyrimas ir ekspertų nuomonės apie Lietuvos psichikos sveikatos priežiūros sistemos padėtį tyrimas. Rezultatai parodė, kad paslaugų vartotojus su stigma sieja išmoktas bejėgiškumas, taikstymasis su mažesnėmis galimybėmis, stigmos suvokimas skatina atsitraukti nuo aplinkinių, neįvardyti ligos. Žiniasklaidos analizė taip pat išryškino šios asmenų grupės sumenkinimo tendencijas, ribotas jų galimybes dalyvauti formuojant diskursą. Ekspertų tyrimo rezultatai atskleidė stigmos poveikį psichikos sveikatos sistemai – dominuojantys diskursai padeda palaikyti stigmos poveikį instituciniu lygmeniu. Atskirus stigmos lygmenis sieja nekonstruktyvios įveikos schemos, grindžiamos psichiatrų mėginimais išlaikyti turimą galią, sutrikusios psichikos asmenų pastangos išsaugoti privatumą, žiniasklaidos reakcija į kritiką argumentuojant visuomenės teise žinoti. Asmeninės, visuomeninės ir struktūrinės stigmos analizė leidžia suvokti stigmos reiškinio daugiasluoksniškumą, identifikuoti paraleles tarp individualių patirčių ir pesimizmu bei stereotipais persmelkto požiūrio į visą psichikos sveikatos priežiūros sistemą. The aim of this article is to reveal stigma manifestations in personal, structural and public levels, its effects on the mental health care system, people with mental disorders, and political decisions in this area in Lithuania. Data of three researches (held in 2015–2016) is presented in the article: the analysis of media discourse, the analysis of a subjective attitude of patients towards the treatment they have received, and the analysis of experts’ opinion on the situation of the mental health care system in Lithuania. The results revealed that at the personal level stigma is linked to learned helplessness and conciliation with lesser possibilities. Perception of stigma stimulates withdrawal behaviour and avoidance to name the disorder. The analysis of the media also highlighted the tendency to depreciate people with mental disorders and limit their possibilities to form this discourse. The analysis of experts’ opinions revealed the effects of stigma on the mental health care system – dominant discourses help to support the effects of stigma at the structural level. Separate levels of stigma are connected by the scheme of non-constructive coping, which is based on the attempts of psychiatrists to keep the power they have, efforts of patients to keep their privacy, and media’s reaction to critics arguing society’s right to knowledge. The analysis of personal, structural and public stigma highlights different dimensions of stigma, and helps to identify parallels between individual experiences and a pessimistic and stereotypical attitude towards all the system of the mental health care.

Savirealizacija, kaip socialinio darbo tikslas, minima Lietuvos ir kitų šalių socialinių darbuotojų etikos kodeksuose bei įvairiuose socialinio darbo veiklą reglamentuojančiuose teisės aktuose. Ji netgi aptariama kaip esminė socialinį darbą apibrėžianti vertybė, į kurią turi būti nukreiptas galutinis praktikos tikslas, susiejantis visas socialinio darbo sritis. Taigi šiame straipsnyje pristatomo tyrimo tikslas – išsiaiškinti, kas sudaro prielaidas klientams siekti savirealizacijos pagalbos teikimo procese. Aiškinantis, koks požiūris į socialines problemas, kokie pagalbos principai ir būdai yra svarbūs, siekiat sudaryti sąlygas kliento savirealizacijai pagalbos proceso metu, atliktas kokybinis tyrimas, kurio rezultatai parodė, kad pagalbos sistemą, kurios tikslas – kliento savirealizacija, sudaro šie elementai: materialinės bazės, sąlygų, kurios nežemintų orumo, sudarymas, neskatinant formuotis „aprūpinimo“ mentalitetui; darbo ir ugdymosi per darbą sąlygų sudarymas; mokymosi galimybių suteikimas; erdvės visapusiškam asmenybės ugdymui laisvalaikiu sukūrimas; pasitikėjimu ir tikėjimu žmogumi pagrįsto santykio užtikrinimas viso pagalbos proceso metu. Ši pagalbos sistema remiasi 3 natūralios aplinkos kūrimo principais: neriboto laiko, kuris skirtas pagalbai teikti; šeimyninės aplinkos kūrimo; individualaus požiūrio į asmenį. Self-realization as the aim of social work is mentioned in the ethical codes of social workers and various acts, regulating the activity of social work in Lithuania and other countries. Self-realization is discussed as the essential virtue, defining social work, and as the objective, towards which the final goal of the practice, involving all areas of social work, must be oriented. Thus, the aim of research which is presented in this paper was to find out what conditions design premises for the clients to aim for the self-realization during the process of the assistance. Searching for what kind of attitudes towards social problems and the means and principles of assistance are important when endeavouring to design conditions for the self-realization of a client during the process of assistance, qualitative research was carried out: biographic interview with a client, interviews of 6 social workers and the analysis of the documents of 3 organizations, which work in the social field and clearly name self-realization of the clients as the goal. The results of the research revealed, that the system of the assistance, when aiming for this goal of social work, is composed of these elements: professional specialized assistance; the creation of material basis and conditions, which do not humiliate human dignity and do not stimulate the rise of "supply" mentality; the design of conditions for work and learning through work; providing the possibilities for education; the design of the space for the development of the personality during leisure time; warranting the relationship, based on the confidence and belief in person during all the process of assistance. This system of assistance is based on 3 principles of design of natural environment: the principle of unterminated time of assistance; the principle of design of family environment; the principle of individual approach to person.

Savirealizacija, kaip socialinio darbo tikslas, minima Lietuvos ir kitų šalių socialinių darbuotojų etikos kodeksuose. Tačiau savirealizacijos, kaip socialinio darbo tikslo, įgyvendinimo galimybės plačiau nenagrinėtos nei Lietuvos, nei užsienio autorių mokslinėse publikacijose. Šiame straipsnyje pateikiamo tyrimo tikslas - išsiaiškinti, kokios nuostatos, požiūriai į socialines problemas yra svarbūs siekiat sudaryti sąlygas kliento savirealizacijai pagalbos proceso metu. Iš tyrimo rezultatų paaiškėjo, kad kliento savirealizacijos, kaip socialinio darbo, tikslo įgyvendinimas grindžiamas trimis požiūriais: 1) socialinės problemos gali tapti gilių, esminių kliento gyvenimo pasikeitimų priežastimi; 2) socialinės problemos yra ypatinga patirtis, kurią galima panaudoti tolimesniame gyvenime, iš kurios galima pasimokyti; 3) socialinių problemų priežastys neretai yra gilesnės nei išoriškai matomi sunkumai, susijusios su pačių giliausių, esminių žmogaus poreikių nepatenkinimu. Tokiais požiūriais besiremiantis socialinis darbas gali siekti tikrojo (vidinio) klientų įgalinimo ir giluminio socialinių problemų sprendimo. Tikėtina, kad kliento savirealizacijos, kaip socialinio darbo tikslo, įgyvendinimas kelia ne tik specifinių reikalavimų socialinio darbuotojo asmenybei (jo pasaulėžiūriniams principams), bet ir reikalauja kitokios (nei įprasta) pagalbos sistemos kūrimo. In this paper we present a research, the aim of which was to find out what attitudes and approaches to social problems are important when one seeks to create conditions for client's self-realization during the process of help. To achieve the aim the following research methods have been used: analysis of scientific literature (strengths-based perspective in social work, humanistic and existential theories in psychology, psychotherapy and social work) and analysis of complex qualitative research data (1 biographical interview, 4 autobiographical books, 6 interviews with social workers, documents of 3 organizations working in social sphere and clearly declaring their aim of seeking client's self realization). The results of the research revealed that there are 3 fundamental attitudes on which the implementation of client's self-realization as the aim of social work is based: 1) social problems could become the reason for essential changes in client's life; 2) social problems are extraordinary experience, which could be used later in life and which can be learnt from; 3) the causes of social problems often are deeper than the externally visible difficulties; these causes are related to lack of satisfaction of the essential, deepest needs of a human being. Social work based on such principles can create conditions for seeking true (inner) empowerment of customers and deeper solution of social problems. It is credible that implementation of client's self-realization as the aim of social work not only sets special requirements for the personality of a social worker (for his or her world view and basic principles), but also requires creation of a specific helping system. The characteristics of such a specific helping system remain the object of further scientific research.

Lithuanian dumps’ waste pickers are poorly studied group in our population. Therefore in the dissertation presented research is the first study of waste pickers as a social group in Lithuania. The research, introduced in this work, was devoted to explore way of life of people working in Kariotiškės dump in the context of waste pickers mode of life. The paper reveals nature of waste picking as a social phenomenon, deals with the historical, economic and social context. On the grounds of visual ethnographic study, carried out in 2006-2008, empirically is reconstructed way of life of people working in Kariotiškės dump. It addresses the following issues: work and earnings, the daily life and household, leisure, social organization, health and mortality, adjustment to the closure of dump. Thesis discloses way of life links between people working in Kariotiškės dump and other countries waste pickers and concludes that both Lithuanian and other countries waste pickers’ way of life is not a random set of patterns of daily life, but an expression of a specific waste pickers’ subculture. Lietuvos sąvartynuose dirbantys atliekų rinkėjai yra menkai tyrinėta mūsų visuomenės grupė. Tad šioje disertacijoje pristatomas tyrimas yra pirmas atliekų rinkėjų kaip visuomenės grupės tyrimas Lietuvoje. Disertacijoje pristatomu tyrimu buvo siekiama ištirti Kariotiškių sąvartyne dirbančių žmonių gyvenimo būdą atliekų rinkėjų gyvensenos kontekste. Darbe atskleidžiama atliekų rinkimo kaip socialinio fenomeno prigimtis, aptariamas istorinis, ekonominis ir socialinis jo kontekstas. 2006-2008 m. atlikto vizualinės etnografijos tyrimo pagrindu empiriškai rekonstruojama Kariotiškių sąvartyne dirbančių žmonių gyvensena. Nagrinėjami tokie jos aspektai: darbas ir uždarbis, kasdienis gyvenimas ir buitis, laisvalaikis, socialinė organizacija, sveikata ir mirtingumas, prisitaikymas prie sąvartyno uždarymo. Disertacijoje atskleidžiamos Kariotiškių sąvartyne dirbančių žmonių ir kitų šalių atliekų rinkėjų gyvensenos sąsajos ir prieinama išvados, kad tiek Lietuvos, tiek kitų šalių atliekų rinkėjų gyvensena yra ne atsitiktinis kasdienio gyvenimo įpročių rinkinys, o specifinės atliekų rinkėjų subkultūros raiška.

Šiame straipsnyje analizuojama atliekų rinkėjų subkultūra: remiantis straipsnio autorės atlikto tyrimo Kariotiškių sąvartyne duomenimis, atskleidžiami gyvensenos ypatumai: aptariamas darbo pobūdis, būstas ir mityba, žmonių tarpusavio santykiai, taip pat santykiai su visuomene. Straipsnyje aptariama atliekų rinkėjų samprata ir pagrindiniai jų tipai, taip pat šios srities tyrimų situacija Lietuvoje ir pasaulyje. This paper presents the results of the research which was conducted in the Kariotiškės Garbage Dump in 2006-2008. Research method: visual ethnography. Research was conducted in collaboration with Mindaugas Survila, a film maker and operator. Collected data: field notes, photos, audio and video tapes, etc. Research participants: about 30 people who worked and lived in the Kariotiškės Dump during its closing. A few general features of life in the dump are briefly introduced by the author: Work. Work there entails picking trash (metals, glass and plastic) and selling it to “recyclers”. What attracts people to the dump? (1) The possibility to earn fair money. (2) The possibility to find useful things. (3) The possibility to be successful and have special findings. Income. It depends on 4 factors: age, sex, work and success. The average income of the dump people can vary from a few tens to a few hundreds of litas per day. Housing. There are some several types of typical houses or slums. Construction: (1) houses built on the earth, (2) houses dug in the earth. Heating: (1) houses with a stove, (2) houses without a stove. Size: (1) one-room houses, (2) two-room houses ,(3) houses with belongings. All the houses are built and equipped using the material found in the dump. Clothing. Šio straipsnio tikslas - supažindinti su viena mažiausiai tyrinėtų mūsų visuomenės grupių - atliekų rinkėjais, dirbusiais Lietuvos sąvartynuose. Tai žmonių grupė, vienokia ar kitokia forma egzistavusi visais laikais visose visuomenėse. Šiai grupei priklausantys žmonės atlieka, viena vertus, atgrasų, kita vertus, svarbų ir naudingą darbą- renka ir / ar rūšiuoja pakartotinai panaudotinas atliekas. Pirmoje straipsnio dalyje supažindinama su atliekų rinkimo ir rūšiavimo reiškiniu bei žmonių grupe, vadinama atliekų rinkėjais. Antroje straipsnio dalyje pristatomas fragmentas iš etnografinio tyrimo, atlikto Lietuvos sąvartynuose., People who work with garbage exist in every society and in every time. Only its form can change. On one hand, they do the forbidding work. On the other hand, they do a very useful work. They collect and/or sort recyclables from garbage. The aim of this paper is to present one of the least investigated groups of our society - scavengers who work in Lithuanian dumps. In the first part of this article we present the phenomenon of scavenging and people called scavengers. In the second part of this article we present a fragment of research conducted in Lithuanian dumps.

Atliekų rinkėjai - tai žmonės, kurių darbas ir uždarbio šaltinis yra atliekų rinkimas, rūšiavimas ir pardavimas. Nors ši žmonių grupė egzistuoja daugelyje visuomenių, jos socialiniai tyrimai nėra itin gausūs, Lietuvoje ši visuomenės grupė beveik netyrinėta. Sis straipsnis yra aprašomojo pobūdžio ir parašytas remiantis 2006-2008 metais Lietuvos sąvartynuose atlikto etnografinio tyrimo rezultatais. Supažindinama su bendrais atliekų rinkėjų darbo bruožais, tipais, uždarbio galimybėmis įvairiose šalyse. Atskleidžiama, kad šios darbinės veiklos atsiradimo veiksniai iš esmės yra ekonominiai. Antroje straipsnio dalyje pateikiami tyrimo rezultatų fragmentai susiję su darbo ir uždarbio temomis. Aprašoma Kariotiškių sąvartyno atliekų rinkėjų darbo tipai, uždarbio dydis ir šaltiniai. Scavengers are people who recover recyclables from waste and use it for self consumption and/or trade. Though this group of society exists in many societies, the research in this area is scarce. There few research made in western world, more in developing countries. In Lithuania this area is quite uninvestigated. The paper present this paper the results of ethnographic research conducted in year 2006-2008 in Lithuanian dumps. The nature of this paper is descriptive. We introduce general characteristics of scavengers' work and their earnings in various countries as well as in Lithuania.

Šio straipsnio tikslas – supažindinti su viena mažiausiai tyrinėtų mūsų visuomenės grupių – atliekų rinkėjais, dirbusiais Lietuvos sąvartynuose. Tai žmonių grupė, vienokia ar kitokia forma egzistavusi visais laikais visose visuomenėse. Šiai grupei priklausantys žmonės atlieka, viena vertus, atgrasų, kita vertus, svarbų ir naudingą darbą – renka ir / ar rūšiuoja pakartotinai panaudotinas atliekas. Pirmoje straipsnio dalyje supažindinama su atliekų rinkimo ir rūšiavimo reiškiniu bei žmonių grupe, vadinama atliekų rinkėjais. Antroje straipsnio dalyje pristatomas fragmentas iš etnografinio tyrimo, atlikto Lietuvos sąvartynuose. People who work with garbage exist in every society and in every time. Only its form can change. On one hand, they do the forbidding work. On the other hand, they do a very useful work. They collect and/or sort recyclables from garbage. The aim of this paper is to present one of the least investigated groups of our society – scavengers who work in Lithuanian dumps. In the first part of this article we present the phenomenon of scavenging and people called scavengers. In the second part of this article we present a fragment of research conducted in Lithuanian dumps.

Relations. The dump people mostly live in pairs. There are some groupings of pairs (some pairs communicate among themselves more than other pairs). However, the dump people do not form a strong community. Their identity relates mostly with the nearest group. Relations with society. The dump people have the closest relations with (1) their relatives, (2) the official workers of the dump and (3) people from the nearby villages. The society groups which most often come to the dump include (1) the police, (2) the medical service, (3) volunteers and charity workers, (4) the hunters for inadvertently thrown away things and (5) others (journalists, students, artists, etc.). People who worked and lived in the dump of Kariotiškės different lifestyles. However, they were bound together by the same living territory, similar work and common worries. All that determined the formation of a special subculture of the dump. The present research gives us some insights into this subculture. Nevertheless, this research is too narrow in scope to use its results for generalisations about other dumps in Lithuania. Therefore, the subculture of the dump requires further investigation.

This dissertation explores the impact of information systems (IS) on the everyday practice of child welfare specialists. The analysis of this socio-technical phenomenon is based on the theory of Actor-Network Theory, proposed by B. Latour as an alternative to the theoretical approaches influenced by social constructivism. Under this framework, a new radical interpretation of sociality embracing the non-human world is suggested that allows gaining extensive and novel insight into the conceptualization of human-made technologies. The ethnographic data was gathered through the use of qualitative and quantitative methods: 21 in-depth interviews with child welfare specialists, 18 participatory observation sessions of their interactions with IS, and an online survey with 242 staff members. The results revealed that a lack of specific functions or their fragmented functioning in IS often diverts the attention of specialists from direct work with clients. Some IS functionalities, such as the function of registering the intermediate result may convert the evidence-based practice into a practice which requires proof of the specialists’ engagement (i.e., non-idleness). Additionally, the types of information and the way it is structured within IS may affect specialists’ decision-making and bias towards the clients. Thus, the improvement of IS depends on the efforts of managers to engage a variety of human and non-human actors in the IS improvement process.
