Synthetic patch infection and pseudoaneurysm are rare but recognised complica- tions of carotid endarterectomy (CEA). We describe a case of bovine patch infection with Ser- ratia marcescens with acute pseudoaneurysm formation following CEA. Successful interposition vein graft was performed. a 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd on behalf of European Society for Vascular Surgery.
