Records from the south Siberia and the Russian Far East (Kirejtshuk 2001) should be attributed to other species of the Augyles cribratellus species group sensu Charpentier (1965) (Sazhnev 2018c). The record of this species from Issyk-Kul hollow in Kyrgyzstan (Ovchinnikov 1996) require verification (Litovkin & Sazhnev 2018). Remarks. Species distributed in Europe (including southern Ural) Asian Turkey, Mongolia and North Africa (Mascagni 2016; Sazhnev & Kozminykh 2019). Remarks. Comparison of examined specimens (as well as Mongolian specimens) with European material and types is required. The diagnosis of the taxon Augyles marmota and the list of its synonyms needs revision. It is possible that more than one species is hidden under this name. [Augyles (Augyles) nebulosus (Kuwert, 1890)] Distribution in Caucasus. Remarks. The first record this species for Caucasus was make as Augyles seriepilosus Motschulsky, 1860 (Zaitsev 1916), which F.A. Zaitsev considered as probably synonym of Augyles intermedius species (Zaitsev 1946). But Augyles seriepilosus (species dubius) was described from East Siberia (Transbaikal Region) (Motschulsky 1860), specimen of « Augyles seriepilosus » with Motschulsky labels is in ZISP collection, and it possible refers to Asian species Augyles interspidulus (Charpentier, 1979). Body (Fig. 1) moderately elongated, dorsoventrally compressed. Head light brown, with dense whitish pubescence and longer scattered setae; mandibles average, not hypertrophied, with acute apex; eyes well developed, antennae with 10 antennomeres, apical 7 antennomeres forming club; clypeus without pair of anterior horns, with dense and short setae, labrum dark brown. Pronotum light brown, with disc darker, evenly wide or slightly narrower than elytra at base, rectangular, densely punctured, bordered posteriorly, laterally with dense whitish pubescence and longer setae. Elytra with pale brown spots (Fig. 1), densely and uniformely punctate, with dense whitish pubescence; elytral longitudinal ridges only slightly indicated. Setae of elytra short, sparse, semierect. Legs light brown, densely pubescent; tibiae with numerous spines and long setae. Abdomen light brown, stridulatory arch marked; postmetacoxal line present. Aedeagus (0.7 mm long) and spiculum gastrale (V-shaped) as in Fig. 2. Paratype, ♀. Total length 3.3 mm (from apex of labrum to apex of elytra). Externally similar to male, but mandible, head and pronotum smaller. Head and pronotum brown. Variability. Body size 3.2���3.3 mm. Males and females are very difficult to separate without examination of the genitalia. Elytral markings slightly differ in two studied specimens (spots of holotype specimen is more contrasting). Differential diagnosis. Based on the shape of the male genitalia, and shape of the elytral pattern, Augyles letovi sp. nov. is probably most related to the south-east Asian species Augyles rejseki Skalick��, 1999 (described from Thailand) and Augyles hiekei (Mascagni, 1995) (described from Vietnam). A. letovi differs from A. rejseki by the tegmen, having lateral margin evenly curved (not dentate) and possessing paired sclerotized elements in basal part (Fig. 2). A. letovi differs from A. hiekei also by the structure of tegmen presence possessing paired sclerotized elements in basal part. Ecology. All specimens were collected at light. Distribution. Body moderately elongated, dorsal-ventrally compressed (Fig. 1). Males and females do not differ. Aedeagus as in Fig. 3. Heterocerus fausti is similar in body form and drawing of elytra on Heterocerus parallelus but can be easily distinguished by the shape of its aedeagus (Fig. 4A���B) and smaller size. Redescription. Color. Ground color is yellow or red-yellow; a combination of black-brown blotches on the pronotum, and brown blotches of elytra and abdomen form a characteristic pattern. Head and labrum are black-brown. Antennae completely yellow. Pronotum is black-brown with a more or less wide yellow edging on the sides and narrow yellow stripe along the front edge. Scutellum is black-brown. Drawing of elytra characteristic of flexuosus species-group sensu Charpentier (1965). Yellow pattern of each elytron normally forms edging, S-shaped basal mark, M-shaped medial mark, apical spot and suture stripe. Dark pattern of the elytra brownish almost blending with the yellow background. Prosternum black-brown with yellow episternae and yellowish front margin. Mesepisternum and metepisternum blackbrown. Abdomen black-brown with yellow pattern in form of edging. Legs, except dark metacoxa, yellow. Head. Clypeus transversal, widely incised on the front edge. Antennae 11-segmented with 7-segment club. Hairs whitish. Puncturing uniform. Thorax. Pronotum not bordered basally; slightly narrower or comparable in width with base of elytra in females, and slightly wider than elytra base in males. Hairs on the disc are double: comprise dense, short, pressed, and long and standing hairs; whitish. Puncturing very dense, fine and uniform. Elytra covered with erect hairs; hair length is comparable with the length of few first spines of mesotibia; hairs slightly longer along sides and near the elytral apex; hairs whitish. Legs of structure typical for family, covered with whitish hairs. Claws of tarsus noticeably longer or equal to the last tarsomere (Fig. 2). Abdomen. Abdomen covered with whitish hairs. Postmetacoxal lines absent. Remarks. The records of Heterocerus fausti for Uzbekistan (Jacobson, 1913; Zaitsev, 1946) are not confirmed. Specimen from Uzbekistan (Qamashi) signed of F.A. Zaitsev as ��� Heterocerus fausti ��� is Heterocerus heydeni Kuwert, 1890. Ecology. The long claws are probably an adaptation to the psammophilous way of life. Distribution. Scutacarus sphaeroideus Karafiat, 1959 Scutacarus longitarsus sphaeroideus Karafiat, 1959: 679, fig. 23. This cosmopolitan species inhabits wet soil and is phoretic on the staphylinid beetles Stenus ruralis Erichson, S. bipunctatus Erichson and Carpelimus fuliginosus (Gravenhorst) (Karafiat 1959; Khaustov 2008). During this study we recorded phoresy of S. sphaeroideus on Heteroceridae for the first time. Material examined. Allopygmephorus punctatus sp. nov. (Figs 7–9) Description. FEMALE (Figs 7–9). Body well sclerotized. Length of idiosoma 270 (270–280), width 170 (170– 190). Gnathosoma similar to that of P. heteroceri sp. nov. Idiosomal dorsum (Fig. 7 A). Only posterior part of prodorsum covered by anterior margin of tergite C. All dorsal plates with numerous small dimples (punctate). Stigmata round, with transverse slit-like opening. Trichobothria clavate and weakly barbed. Setae sc 2 smooth, needle-like; other dorsal setae sparsely barbed; setae e and h 2 blunt-ended, other dorsal setae pointed. Posterior margin of tergite H rounded. Cupules ia on tergite D and ih on tergite H small, round. Lengths of dorsal setae: sc 2 19 (18–22), c 1 42 (42–45), c 2 51 (50–54), d 42 (40–44), e 26 (26–27), f 49 (48–52), h 1 43 (42–49), h 2 31 (30–33). Distances between setae: sc 2 –sc 2 54 (53–56), c 1– c 1 52 (52–54), c 1– c 2 39 (38–44), d–d 37 (36–39), e–f 17 (16–17), f– f 74 (72–76), h 1– h 1 33 (32–35), h 1– h 2 23 (23–25). Idiosomal venter (Fig. 7 B). All ventral plates with numerous small dimples. Setae 1 b thichened, lanceolate and barbed. Setae ps 2 very small, vestigial; other ventral setae sparsely barbed, pointed. Setae ps 1 and ps 3 weakly thickened in basal part. Apodemes as in A. spinisetus sp. nov. Posterior margin of posterior sternal plate weakly concave in middle part. Posterior margin of aggenital plate rounded. Ags small, triangular, pgs large, triangular, with indistinct anterior margin. Posterior sternal plate with distinct scale-like structure posteriorly and laterally to bases of legs IV. Seta l’ of femur smooth, blunt-ended; v” on femur I very short, smooth, spiniform; v’ on trochanter short, smooth, blunt-ended; other leg setae (except eupathidia) pointed and sparsely barbed. Lengths of solenidia ω 1 9 (9–10)> ω 2 4 (4–5) < φ 1 7 (6–7) = φ 2 7 (6–7); ω 1 finger-shaped, ω 2 and φ 2 baculiform, φ 1 weakly clavate. Leg II (Fig. 8 B). A.V. Ivanov. Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from Latin word punct meaning dot referring to punctate dorsal and ventral plates. Differential diagnosis. The new species is most similar to A. persicus Khaustov and Hajiqanbar, 2006, in having pointed setae h 1. It differs from A. persicus by its blunt-ended setae h 2 (pointed in A. persicus); setae 1 b thickened and lanceolate (not thickened in A. persicus), and distinctly punctate dorsal and ventral plates (smooth in A. persicus).

Gnathosoma similar to that of P. heteroceri sp. nov. Idiosomal dorsum (Fig. 4 A). Only posterior part of prodorsum covered by anterior margin of tergite C. All dorsal plates with numerous small dimples (punctate). Stigmata round, with transverse slit-like opening. Trichobothria clavate and weakly barbed. Setae sc 2 smooth, needle-like; setae c 1 and c 2 smooth or with 1-2 small barbs, pointed; setae d and f sparsely barbed, pointed; other dorsal setae blunt-ended and sparsely barbed. Posterior margin of tergite H rounded. Cupules ia on tergite D and ih on tergite H small, round. Tergite C with one pair of pore-like structures situated anteromedially to c 1. Gnathosomal capsule oval, its length about equal to its width, dorsally with two pairs of cheliceral setae (cha, chb) and postpalpal setae situated anteriorly to setae cha; palps prominent, with two pairs of dorsolateral setae (dFe, dGe) and distinct tibial claw distally. Subcapitulum with one pair of setae m and one pair of oval pits in the posterior half. Palps ventrally with mushroom-like accessory setigenous structure and small solenidion. Prodorsum with two pair of simple setae (v 2, sc 2), one pair of clavate trichobothria (sc 1), and circular stigmata. Dorsal hysterosomal setae not modified. Tergite C with two pairs of setae (c 1, c 2); tergite D with one pair of setae (d) and one pair of round cupules ia; tergite EF with two pairs of setae (e, f); tergite H with two pairs of setae (h 1, h 2) and one pair of round cupules ih. Differential diagnosis. The new genus is most similar to Allopygmephorus Cross, 1965. Both genera have characteristic pointed empodia on tarsi II-IV, separated spiniform unguinal setae on tibiotarsus I, the same leg setation, and similarly shaped claws on the legs. The new genus differs from Allopygmephorus by the presence of setae v 2 (absent in Allopygmephorus), the presence of the median genital sclerite (absent in Allopygmephorus), and by solenidion �� 1 fused with tibiotarsus I (prominent in Allopygmephorus). Among neopygmephorid genera with median genital sclerite, the new genus is most similar to Pseudopygmephorus Cross, 1965, by having solenidion �� 1fused with tibiotarsus I. The new genus differs from Pseudopygmephorus by the characteristic distally-pointed empodia on tarsi II���IV (flipper-like in Pseudopygmephorus), and non-bifurcate setae 1 b (bifurcate in Pseudopygmephorus). Species included. The genus Protoallopygmephorus gen. nov. includes only type species, P. heteroceri sp. nov. Distribution and habitat. Protoallopygmephorus heteroceri sp. nov. is phoretic on Heterocerus fenestratus (Thunberg) (Coleoptera: Heteroceridae) in the European part of Russia. Etymology.
