Background: Systemic sclerosis is an incurable autoimmune fibrotic skin disease. Many factors were described as aetiology of SS, but the impact of nutritional factor is unknown. Abstract Background Behavioral Diseases Counseling Centers (BDCCs) and Vulnerable Women’s Counseling Centers (VWCCs) in Iran are the main peripheral centers that offer educational, counseling, diagnostic, preventive, curative and protective services to individuals living with or at high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and female sex workers respectively. Due to the social stigma surrounding HIV in Iran, this study aims to identify the factors that may hinder or encourage HIV/AIDS patients and women with risky sexual behaviors from visiting these centers. Methods Conducted in 2023, this qualitative study involved individuals visiting BDCCs and VWCCs in two western provinces of Iran, Ilam and Kermanshah. The study participants included 21 health staff members working in BDCCs and VWCCs and 20 HIV/AIDS patients and vulnerable women with unsafe sexual behaviors referring to these centers. Purposive, snowball and maximum variation sampling techniques were applied to interview the participants. Interviews were conducted between January 5th and May 21st, 2023, using a semi-structure guideline. Interviews were transcribed and content analysis approach was applied to analyze data using MAXQDA20 software. Results According to the findings, the barriers and facilitators of visiting specialized centers for HIV/AIDS patients and vulnerable women were categorized into three main categories, 10 subcategories and 35 sub-subcategories including: Medical and operational processes (4 subcategories and 12 sub-subcategories), mutual interactions between the personnel and visitors (people living with and at the risk of getting HIV/AIDS) (3 subcategory and 13 sub-subcategories), and physical characteristics of the centers (3 subcategories and 10 sub-subcategories). Conclusions To improve the performance of BDCCs and VWCCs and encourage people living with and at the risk of contracting HIV/AIDS to visit these centers regularly, health policy makers should consider modifying clinical processes, physical features, personnel behaviors and visitors’ concerns raised by the interviewees and the issues identified in this study.

Multimedia conveys educational concepts and materials in an easier, wider, and more attractive way, along with text, sound, image, and video, to overcome the limitations caused by educational methods. The aim of the current research is to produce and evaluate digital multimedia based on the decide, design, develop, and-evaluate (DDD-E) model in the field of teaching depression treatment in traditional Persian medicine. The study was quantitative, and the professors and doctoral students of the two fields of medical education and traditional Persian medicine were the subjects of the present study. In this research, the DDD-E model was used to produce a training package for the treatment of depression in traditional Persian medicine. This study was conducted in four phases: decision-making, planning, development, and evaluation. The final evaluation was done in two stages. First, it was evaluated by preparing a checklist of educational multimedia production stages based on the original DDD-E model, and in the second stage, a QAMLM questionnaire was used to evaluate the final product. The results of the evaluation showed that, according to the evaluators, quality components were generally observed in multimedia production. There was a complete consensus among the experts regarding the quality of content matching the goal and attention to learning results (Kappa coefficient = 1). Regarding the quality of media selection components (Kappa coefficient = 0.383), Paying attention to cultural and social factors (Kappa coefficient = 0.395) There was the least consensus. The overall score of the multimedia produced was equal to 58.4, according to experts. The multimedia was produced in terms of content, education, and technology to provide training to general practitioners in order to improve practical knowledge and use the recommendations of traditional Persian medicine to adjust the treatment patterns of patients with depression.

Background: The Coronavirus 2019-nCOV (COVID-19) epidemic by SARS-CoV-2 is spreading worldwide, and by March 1, 2020, 67 countries, including Iran, have been affected. Many studies are being conducted at home and abroad to predict the outbreak of the disease so that they can make the necessary medical and health decisions in a timely manner. Methods: we used the SIR model to identify parameters to calculate epidemic features and some estimates of the new coronavirus. Data on the transmission of the novel coronavirus were extracted from the GitHub source in the covid19.analytics software package. Results: According to our model estimates, the rate of infection β = 1 and the rate of removal γ = 0.667 and index R0 = 1.497 were obtained. Because the value of R0 is more than one, it is still an epidemic disease. Given that tfinal~132 days was estimated, we can expect the transmission of this epidemic to stop in Iran after July 3, 2020, provided that existing quarantine measures and patient isolation rates continue as usual. In comparison with the global SIR model, we reached the peak of the infection earlierthan the global model, but in improved and susceptible cases, we performed better than the global model. The graph of recovered and susceptible cases in Iran earlier than the global model cut off themselves. Conclusion: Forecasts are set to be a useful guide for deciding whether to transfer COVID-19. According to the predictions and estimates made, more attention should be paid to control measures

Mortality and morbidity from cardiovascular diseases are common worldwide. In order to improve survival and quality of life for this patient population, extensive efforts are being made to establish effective therapeutic modalities. New treatment options are needed, it seems. In addition to treating cardiovascular diseases, cell therapy is one of the most promising medical platforms. One of the most effective therapeutic approaches in this area is stem cell therapy. In stem cell biology, multipotent stem cells and pluripotent stem cells are divided into two types. There is evidence that stem cell therapy could be used as a therapeutic approach for cardiovascular diseases based on multiple lines of evidence. The effectiveness of stem cell therapies in humans has been studied in several clinical trials. In spite of the challenges associated with stem cell therapy, it appears that resolving them may lead to stem cells being used in cardiovascular disease patients. This may be an effective therapeutic approach. By mounting these stem cells on biological scaffolds, their effect can be enhanced.

Myocardial infarction (MI) stands as a prominent contributor to global cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality rates. Acute MI (AMI) can result in the loss of a large number of cardiomyocytes (CMs), which the adult heart struggles to replenish due to its limited regenerative capacity. Consequently, this deficit in CMs often precipitates severe complications such as heart failure (HF), with whole heart transplantation remaining the sole definitive treatment option, albeit constrained by inherent limitations. In response to these challenges, the integration of bio-functional materials within cardiac tissue engineering has emerged as a groundbreaking approach with significant potential for cardiac tissue replacement. Bioengineering strategies entail fortifying or substituting biological tissues through the orchestrated interplay of cells, engineering methodologies, and innovative materials. Biomaterial scaffolds, crucial in this paradigm, provide the essential microenvironment conducive to the assembly of functional cardiac tissue by encapsulating contracting cells. Indeed, the field of cardiac tissue engineering has witnessed remarkable strides, largely owing to the application of biomaterial scaffolds. However, inherent complexities persist, necessitating further exploration and innovation. This review delves into the pivotal role of biomaterial scaffolds in cardiac tissue engineering, shedding light on their utilization, challenges encountered, and promising avenues for future advancement. By critically examining the current landscape, we aim to catalyze progress toward more effective solutions for cardiac tissue regeneration and ultimately, improved outcomes for patients grappling with cardiovascular ailments.
