Abstract The challenge of elderly care presents a formidable task, demanding the collective attention of governmental bodies and diverse sectors of society. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the research and development of Social Elderly Care Service (ECS) has emerged as a dominant trend, holding substantial importance in the establishment of an efficient ECS system. This study aims to serve as a comprehensive reference for the advancement of China's ECS system, achieved through the harmonious integration of a social ECS system with AI capabilities. This paper introduces the fundamental theory of AI, delving into the intricacies of the greyscale model of AI. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the current landscape of elderly care and elder care institutions, offering scientific data and insights to propel further research on AI development and system construction. Through an analysis of the existing research status, the study identifies prevalent issues within the AI-ECS integration, emphasizing pivotal factors influencing the construction of a robust social ECS system. To address these concerns, the study puts forth specific and viable policy recommendations. Notably, the questionnaire's statistics underscore that 83% of the elderly populace would opt for AI-driven solutions in selecting intelligent products, thereby underscoring the pivotal role of AI within the social ECS system. The challenges facing elderly care systems, including demographic shifts, resource constraints, and evolving societal norms, demand innovative solutions for providing efficient and effective care. This study addresses these challenges by exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Social Elderly Care Services (ECS) in China. This article describes a system for servicing and enhancing the efficiency of medical clinic operations. The developed system facilitates the patients of the medical clinic by providing rapid and convenient access to their comprehensive medical records. Leveraging advanced technology, this system is poised to significantly improve patient health outcomes. The experiments are made as average time for response from web service and application testing with patient feedback. Objective: Effective service systems are necessary to address the prevalence and impacts of child abuse. The current study introduced a jurisdictional approach for assessing child abuse prevention service systems to identify service system gaps or opportunities to strengthen child abuse prevention. Method: We used quantitative descriptive analysis and thematic analysis to analyze and synthesize results of a desktop assessment/analysis of 30 individual programs with child abuse prevention objectives operating in a single jurisdiction in Australia. Results: Qualitative themes for strengthening services included program model line of sight, documented models of service provision, evidence-based programs, and culturally competent service provision. Conclusions: The current study highlights the importance of evaluating existing service systems at scale. Results present an opportunity for learning about how to improve service system design for families with multiple and complex needs, such as having clear and documented service models; tailoring programs and program components to the specific needs of target groups, including cultural and language needs; determining appropriate dosing of programs and services; including strong clinical and cultural governance; ensuring the workforce is suitably qualified and/or trained, including cultural competencies; and including regular and ongoing evaluations of programs and services to determine effectiveness and highlight areas for improvement. This experimental research study explores the concept of longevity in the context of design. It emphasises the importance of creating meaningful and impactful solutions to complex social-technological challenges posed by an ageing population and the longevity economy. In the context of the diid issue, different authors discuss the role and influence of design and the creative process in addressing issues related to longevity, and celebrating people's independence, health, finance, and quality of life through innovative products, processes, places, and platforms. It introduces the concept of Design for Longevity (D4L), which incorporates comprehensive considerations encompassing family dynamics, housing, community engagement, health, education, investment, risk, and advocating for the individual's multiple life stages with purpose and respect. The introductory paper also highlights the contribution of D4L in the ongoing discourse on the social impact of design in fostering community building, social interaction, and engagement among older adults to enhance longevity, literacy, fitness, and well-being. Purpose – This paper proposes a holistic, proactive and adaptive approach to cybersecurity from a service lens, given the continuously evolving cyber-attack techniques, threat and vulnerability landscape that often overshadow existing cybersecurity approaches. Design/methodology/approach – Through an extensive literature review of relevant concepts and analysis of existing cybersecurity frameworks, standards and best practices, a logical argument is made to produce a dynamic end-to-end cybersecurity service system model. Findings – Cyberspace has provided great value for businesses and individuals. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly motivated the move to cyberspace by organizations. However, the extension to cyberspace comes with additional risks as traditional protection techniques are insufficient and isolated, generally focused on an organization's perimeter with little attention to what is out there. More so, cyberattacks continue to grow in complexity creating overwhelming consequences. Existing cybersecurity approaches and best practices are limited in scope, and implementation strategies, differing in strength and focus, at different levels of granularity. Nevertheless, the need for a proactive, adaptive and responsive cybersecurity solution is recognized. Originality/value – This paper presents a model that promises proactive, adaptive and responsive end-to-end cybersecurity. The proposed cybersecurity continuity and management model premised on a service system, leveraging on lessons learned from existing solutions, takes a holistic analytical view of service activities from source (service provider) to destination (Customer) to ensure end-to-end security, whether internally (within an organization) or externally.

There is strong evidence to suggest that children are negatively impacted by growing up in places where there are high levels of disadvantage present. However, these children can reap substantial developmental benefits (even more so than those who do not experience disadvantage) from access to and engagement with community and social services supporting health, education, and wellbeing. Yet, due to the complexity of service provision, access, and outcomes for children and families living in disadvantaged places, the service system in these contexts often is found to be ineffective in meeting the needs of the community. This study utilises a participatory approach, engaging service providers working with children and families in a disadvantaged place to identify key leverage points that have the potential to promote systems reform. Using participatory systems mapping, the findings illustrate aspirations (or the ideal state) of the service system that are characterised by early intervention, high levels of service coverage, and interconnected services, all of which enable wellbeing for children and families. User orientated and service orientated factors that act as barriers or enablers are also identified and key levers of service reform are discussed, particularly increasing accessibility of services and reducing vulnerability of service users.

This paper studies a pricing problem for a single-server queue where customers arrive according to a Poisson process. For each arriving customer, the service provider announces a price rate and system wait time. In response, the customer decides whether to join the queue, and, if so, the duration of the service time. The objective is to maximize either the long-run average revenue or social welfare. We formulate this problem as a continuous-time control model whose optimality conditions involve solving a set of delay differential equations. We develop an innovative method to obtain the optimal control policy, whose structure reveals interesting insights. The optimal dynamic price rate policy is not monotone in the wait time. That is, in addition to the congestion effect (the optimal price rate increases in the wait time), we find a compensation effect, meaning that the service provider should lower the price rate when the wait time is longer than a threshold. Compared with the prevalent static pricing policy, our optimal dynamic pricing policy improves the objective value through admission control, which, in turn, increases the utilization of the server. In a numerical study, we find that our revenue-maximizing pricing policy outperforms the best static pricing policy, especially when the arrival rate is low, and customers are impatient. Interestingly, the revenue-maximizing policy also improves social welfare over the static pricing policy in most of the tested cases. We extend our model to consider nonlinear pricing and heterogeneous customers. Nonlinear pricing may improve the revenue significantly, although linear pricing is easier to implement. The paper presents and solves the problems of modeling and designing the required EV charging service capacity for systems with a slow dynamic component. This includes possible bursts within a peak hour interval. A simulation tool with a newly implemented capacity planning method has been developed and implemented for these needs. The method can be used for different system simulations and simultaneously for systems with high, medium, and low service dynamics. The proposed method is based on a normal distribution, a primary mechanism that describes events within a daily interval (24 h) or a peak hour interval (rush hour). The goal of the presented approach, including the proposed method, is to increase the level and quality of the EV charging service system. The near-optimal solution with the presented method can be found manually by changing the service capacity parameter concerning the criterion function. Manual settings limit the number of rejected events, the time spent in the queue, and other service system performance parameters. In addition to manual search for near-optimal solutions, the method also provides automatic search by using the automation procedure of simulation runs and increasing/decreasing the service capacity parameter by a specifically calculated amount. This study proposes a system construction approach under Industry 4.0 infrastructure that is validated by the proposed framework of microservice quality assessment with framework with data modeling and simulation methodology to achieve innovation and value cocreation goals. The framework, which combines a dynamic process flow with service-dominant logic design and reliability assessment using a multilayer perceptron (MLP) prediction model can assist decision makers in optimizing their service innovation and decision-making processes. The service innovation and evaluation approaches have implications for optimizing the corporation cooperation. The corporation can form a much more comprehensive manufacturing infrastructure or system by considering the requirements and assessment results of third parties. To help the corporation redefine its value proposition and system structure, we must examine the system interaction between different hierarchical layers within the Industry 4.0 system infrastructure. This study used a production dataset from the NASDAQ-listed electronics corporation and two top German and Japanese automobile firms. The proposed system framework had already been validated and introduced to improve 12% of service quality. The system integrated with anticipated functions will accelerate service innovation and optimization by combining MLP and Kaplan–Meier estimation methodologies by extracting the characteristics of realistic datasets. Drawing upon the functional characteristics of blockchain technology, this article envisages the feasibility and reliability of developing a charity donation service system loaded onto blockchain in response to the complex service demands encountered by charity operators due to the Covid-19 epidemic. With blockchain technology's support as the underlying data book, this article focuses on the practical issues of charity donation fund and material allocation, as well as information release and sharing, charity donation organization, and organization self-management. The paper thereby discusses the key technologies in terms of overall structure design, specific service sector, and functional design of the donation service system and further summarizes the operational mechanism of the system as combined with the needs of help-seeking, receiving, and management users. It is argued that all the above proposals have the potential to alleviate the trust crisis of charity services in China in view of low transparency. The paper expects to provide a useful reference for charity business innovation propelled by blockchain technology.

The digital technologies and systems have considerable impacts on the development of entities, countries, and society. More than just finding solutions, they support the considerable expansions of human activities to observe critical situations of development and overcome them. To face up to these expansions, following service science, development is based on service ecosystems with an informational infrastructure comprising an information base, organizational and digital architectures. All activities of development are multidisciplinary, multi-institutional, multinational, and, what’s more, they combine many aspects, societal, digital, political, legal, ethical. Despite their heterogeneity, the private-public partnership for services (4PS) provides them with a framework to foster efficiency, cognitive unity, and identity. Finally, this approach enables a clear picture of how the development and its outcomes are democratic, inclusive, responsible, and accountable.

This study aims to find out, analyze and explain the factors that influence service quality in achieving good service quality at the North Surabaya Regional Revenue Management Unit. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. From the results of the study obtained an overall picture that the quality of service in the North Surabaya Regional Revenue Management UPT is good because of the interaction of Human Resources (HR) who are able to run a good service system and the right strategy in responding to people's desires and needs through service procedures standardized, innovative services and supporting facilities for infrastructure facilities. In addition, there is also a factor of leadership involvement in providing support for improving service quality and the existence of an organizational culture that can improve employee performance in providing the best service to the community.

From the perspective of urban-rural integration, this paper analyzes the current situation of public sports service system in rural areas of Sichuan Province. In order to break through the dilemma of the Rural Public Sports Service System in Sichuan Province, we must seize the opportunity of the integration of urban and rural areas, conform to the regional characteristics of Sichuan, plan the steps of the supporting reform between urban and rural areas as well as the farmers’ personal sports needs; and increase the farmers’ economic income, meanwhile, we should introduce and attract social enterprises and social forces to invest a lot in the human, material and financial resources of rural public sports. Promoting the development of rural public sports service in Sichuan Province by optimizing the allocation of resources.

This study introduces service robots to a restaurant company to reduce work hours and to improve service quality. The industry must enhance productivity because it is the lowest in the service industry, but service quality is a crucially important factor for added value. An automated guided vehicle (AGV) system for restaurant stores was developed and used in a Japanese cuisine restaurant. Service operations were changed. Work hour reduction was confirmed. Sales per labor hour were calculated to confirm productivity enhancement. Furthermore, service staff working time and place are recorded by a Pedestrian Dead-Reckoning System to analyze operations and to assume service quality changes. Results show that AGV introduction reduces work hours, and that it enhances labor productivity. Furthermore, each service group emphasizes their main task to enhance service quality at lunch time. Maintaining a competitive edge in today’s markets with short product life cycles and competitors quickly copying commercial success ideas is a significant challenge. Service organisations have to look for ways to quickly adapt to environmental changes and offer the most satisfying services to demanding and rushing customers. One of the possible ways to achieve these goals is to apply the principles of modular design to services. Although the modular design is widely used in the production of goods, its applicability to services has not yet been sufficiently researched. There is a lack of consensus on the terms used, there is no clear definition of the modular service system requirements, there are many doubts in the application of quantitative decision methods for modular service system management, and so forth. The article aims to identify the fundamental problems associated with the use of modular design for services. Based on the results of the analysis of the scientific literature, we propose a scheme describing the service system, and identify the important problematic issues related to the application of modular design to services. In this paper, we use methods of systematic analysis, abstraction, synthesis, and critical analysis. Nors modulinis projektavimas plačiai taikomas prekių gamyboje, tačiau jo pritaikomumas paslaugoms dar nėra pakankamai ištirtas: trūksta bendro sutarimo dėl vartojamų terminų, nėra aiškiai apibrėžti reikalavimai modulinei paslaugų sistemai, kyla daug abejonių, bandant pritaikyti kiekybinius sprendimų metodus modulinei paslaugų sistemai valdyti ir pan. As customer satisfaction is a key success factor for a service system, the main purpose of this paper is to design a control chart for monitoring the service process. The variable sampling interval (VSI) control charts are useful and have important applications in service industries, which sample at a higher rate when there is evidence of a change in the process, and are thus able to detect process changes faster than the traditional fixed sampling interval (FSI) control charts. This paper evaluates and compares the performance of the VSI np control chart with the average time to signal (ATS) properties, when the process parameters are known and estimated, the results demonstrate that these performances of the VSI np chart are quite different when the number of samples used during Phase I is small. Then we suggest new dedicated chart parameters for the VSI np chart with estimated parameter, to have approximately the same in-control ATS values as in the known parameter case.
