Tokyo, This paper provides an overview of the Harrisons, King & Irwin Limited documents in the London Metropolitan Archives. Harrisons, King & Irwin was an affiliate of Harrisons & Crosfield, a global corporate group in the United Kingdom. It was also China's leading tea exporter from the 1920s to the 1940s. The author first briefly introduces the history of Harrisons, King & Irwin, then provides a brief overview of some of the contents in the Harrisons, King & Irwin Limited documents by theme, and finally discusses the significance of this series of documents for the study of the tea industry's history in modern China and the world., Articles

- Abstract
To understand the fuel retention mechanism, correlation of surface chemical states and hydrogen isotope retention behavior determined by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) and TDS (Thermal desorption spectroscopy), respectively, for JET ITER-Like Wall samples from operational period 2011-2012 were investigated. It was found that the deposition layer was formed on the upper part of the inner vertical divertor area. At the inner plasma strike point region, the original surface materials, W or Mo, were found, indicating to an erosion-dominated region, but deposition of impurities was also found. Higher heat load would induce the formation of metal carbide. At the outer horizontal divertor tile, mixed material layer was formed with iron as an impurity. TDS showed the H and D desorption behavior and the major D desorption temperature for the upper part of the inner vertical tile was located at 370 °C and 530 °C. At the strike point region, the D desorption temperature was clearly shifted toward higher release temperatures, indicating the stabilization of D trapping by higher heat load.

- Abstract
A tritium imaging plate technique (TIPT) in combination with an electron-probe microscopic analysis (EPMA) were applied to examine tritium (T) retention characteristics in individual dust particles collected in the Joint European Torus with the ITER-like Wall (JET-ILW) after the first campaign in 2011–2012.A lot of carbon (C)-dominated dust particles were found, which would be pre-existing carbon deposits in the JET-C or released carbon particles from the remaining carbon-fiber components in the JET-ILW. Most of T was retained at the surface of and/or in the C-dominated dust particles. The retention in tungsten, beryllium and other metal-dominated dust particles is relatively lower by a factor of 10–100 in comparison with that in the C-dominated particles.

日本原子力研究開発機構(JAEA)廃炉環境国際共同研究センター(CLADS)では、令和元年度英知を結集した原子力科学技術・人材育成推進事業(以下、「本事業」という)を実施している。本事業は、東京電力ホールディングス福島第一原子力発電所の廃炉等をはじめとした原子力分野の課題解決に貢献するため、国内外の英知を結集し、様々な分野の知見や経験を、従前の機関や分野の壁を越えて緊密に融合・連携させた基礎的・基盤的研究及び人材育成を推進することを目的としている。平成30年度の新規採択課題から実施主体を文部科学省からJAEAに移行することで、JAEAとアカデミアとの連携を強化し、廃炉に資する中長期的な研究開発・人材育成をより安定的かつ継続的に実施する体制を構築した。本研究は、研究課題のうち、「再臨界前の中性子線増に即応可能な耐放射線FPGAシステムの開発」の令和元年度の研究成果について取りまとめたものである。本研究では集積回路技術に光技術を導入し、1Gradのトータルドーズ耐性を持つ耐放射線光電子FPGAと光技術を用いずに既存の集積回路技術のみで200Mradのトータルドーズ耐性を実現する耐放射線リペアラブルFPGAの2つの開発を行う。日本の研究チームは耐放射線FPGAとハードウエア・アクセラレーションの面でイギリスの研究チームを支援する。イギリスの研究チームは日本の支援を受け、強ガンマ線環境下で使用でき、再臨界前の中性子線増を瞬時に検知可能なFPGAを用いた中性子線モニタリングシステムを実現する。この中性子線モニタリングシステムを日本側の耐放射線FPGAと組み合わせ、再臨界前の中性子線増に即応できる耐放射線FPGAシステムを実現する。, The Collaborative Laboratories for Advanced Decommissioning Science (CLADS), Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), had been conducting the Nuclear Energy Science \& Technology and Human Resource Development Project (hereafter referred to "the Project") in FY2019. The Project aims to contribute to solving problems in the nuclear energy field represented by the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO). For this purpose, intelligence was collected from all over the world, and basic research and human resource development were promoted by closely integrating/collaborating knowledge and experiences in various fields beyond the barrier of conventional organizations and research fields. The sponsor of the Project was moved from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to JAEA since the newly adopted proposals in FY2018. On this occasion, JAEA constructed a new research system where JAEA-academia collaboration is reinforced and medium-to-long term research/development and human resource development contributing to the decommissioning are stably and consecutively implemented. Among the adopted proposals in FY2019, this report summarizes the research results of the "Radiation tolerant rapid criticality monitoring with radiation-hardened FPGAs". This research is developing a radiation-hardened optoelectronic FPGA with a 1 Grad total-ionizing-dose tolerance on which optical technologies are introduced onto a semiconductor technology and a radiation hardened FPGA with a 200 Mrad total-ionizing-dose tolerance not using any optical component. Moreover, Japanese research group will support hardware acceleration on FPGAs used for neutron-detection system developed by UK team. Finally, we will provide our radiation-hardened FPGA for the UK neutron-detection system.

- Abstract
type:Journal Article, Magnetic field dependences of the glass-liquid transition temperature (Tg) were studied in YBa2Cu3O7−x films containing various types of nanoinclusions. The vortex configuration entangled or straight and pinning strength for each vortex are crucial to the behaviors of Tg. c-axis correlated pinning centers optimize these factors and achieve the upper limit of Tg, which is determined by loss of line tension of vortices, if they are elongated through a thickness of a sample. By optimizing pinning centers, critical temperature, and a matching field, a Tg value of 77 K can be obtained in YBa2Cu3O7−x in a magnetic field as high as 27 T., source:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevB.79.092504

Deep Q-learning method is one of the most popularly used deep reinforcement learning algorithms which uses deep neural networks to approximate the estimation of the action-value function. Training of the deep Q-network (DQN) is usually restricted to first order gradient based methods. This paper attempts to accelerate the training of deep Q-networks by introducing a second order Nesterov's accelerated quasi-Newton method. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method on deep reinforcement learning using double DQNs for global routing. The results show that the proposed method can obtain better routing solutions compared to the DQNs trained with first order Adam and RMSprop methods., Accepted in NOLTA 2020

本稿では平成21年度静岡文化芸術大学学長特 研究「身体文化とメディアの融合と創造_グローバル化するスポーツ文化_」の成 として静岡文化芸術大学開学10周年記念「メディア・スポーツシンポジウム」、さらに研究成 を一 市民や関係者に発表する目的として「SUAC文化芸術セミナー」について報告する。特に「メディア・スポーツシンポジウムでは、日仏のメディア・スポーツ関係者と意見交換をすることで、日仏のメディアアイデンティティの相違点や共 点が明らかになった。また今後のわが国のメディア・スポーツのあり方やスポーツ・ジャーナリズムに新しい知見を得ることができた。, This paper reports on the 2009 Sports Media Symposium at Shizuoka University of Art and Culture (SUAC), and the Seminar of Cultures and Art which also took place at SUAC in 2009. This is a report on a special research grant received from the President of Shizuoka University of Art and Culture. These events allowed the researchers to clarify differences and learn of common features between the media identity of Japan and France through an exchange of opinions with Japanese and French journalists and others related to the field. The new findings from this project have been informative in illustrating ideal practices for sports media and sports journalists in Japan.

すでに3〜4年間フィリピン大学と学術交流を行ってきた芸術文化学科教授梅猶彦の提案に基づき、大学対大学の学術交流ができないかを探った研究報告である。2008年春にはUPのウマリ准教授が本学に来学された。11月にはUPディリマン校のカオ学長はじめ計4名の代表団を本学にお迎えして、特 講義をしていただいた。2009年3月に、本学の国際交流委員を中心に計4名がフィリピン大学を視察訪問し、同様に特 講義をして、UPの教員及び学生たちにSUACについて紹介することができた。, This is a report on the academic exchange lectures between University of the Philippines and SUAC in the school year of 2008-09, at Prof. Umewaka's suggestion who was a former visiting professor in UP. In Spring 08 Dr. Umali visited SUAC and in Autumn Chancellor Cao with other three professors delivered the special lectures on our campus. In consideration of this, we, four professors of SUAC, visited UP Diliman to do presentations and meet with UP academic staffs as well as many interested students.

本研究は市街地における子どものレクリエーション施設が子育て支援センターとしてどのような機能を果たすかについて調べることを目的とし、2003年の2月、3月に「浜松こども館」の来館者ならびに館まで2km以内にある幼稚園・保育園に通園する園児をもつ近隣在住者を対象に質問紙調査を実施した。いずれの調査対象者も末子が8歳以下であることを条件とした。調査対象者は以下の尺度により、分類、分析された。第一は館利用に関するもの、例えば利用頻度、目的、所要時間などである。第二は調査対象者及びその末子の日常生活に関するもの、例えば児童公園、ショッピングセンター、図書館などの利用頻度などである。第三は調査対象者が子育てに対して受けている物理的、心理的な支援のレベルである。第四は調査対象者の不安のレベルである。近隣在住者で利用の多い群は少ない群(または利用無し群)に比べ、より活動的で社会性があり、子育て支援にも恵まれていた。また、来館者の平均所要時間は30分を超えているが、遠くからの来館者は子育て不安のレベルが比較的高かった。立地の利便性と多機能性が利用に結びついていると考えられる。, The purpose of this study was to identify the function of an urban facility for children's recreation as a center for child-rearing support. The study was conducted between February and March, 2003. We analyzed questionnaires given to two groups of parents: the first was visitors of the plaza, and the second was local parents whose children attended nurseries within 2 km of the plaza (of which some visited the plaza, and others did not). Each subject had a youngest child who was eight years old or younger. Subjects were analyzed and classified based on the following criteria. The first concerned the plaza: frequency of visits, purposes of visits, travel time, etc. Another concerned lifestyle of the subjects and their youngest children: frequency of visits to playgrounds, shopping malls, libraries, etc. Third was the level of physical and psycho-logical assistance subjects received for child-rearing. Fourth was the subjects' anxiety levels. We discovered that frequent visitors of the plaza were more active, social, and had more support in child-rearing than infrequent (or non-) visitors. Visitors found it a good location, and expected it to serve various functions. Also, the average visitor traveled over 30 minutes one way, and many parents who traveled long distances showed relatively high anxiety levels.

パブリックアートは、3つに類型化することが出来る。1)都市のシンボル的機能を担う「近代型」、2)地域社会の歴史や社会運動を表す「地域住民参画型」、3)様々な人々の交流を促す効果を持つ「現代型」であり、シカゴ市にはこれら3つの類型が全て揃い、それぞれが都市に独自の特徴を与えている。「現代型」パブリックアートは電子的、メディア的な仕掛けを備えるものが多く、さらに再生、変換、応答、通信の4タイプに分類して理解することができる。今後のパブリックアートの課題は次の3点であろう。1)周囲の環境、つまり建築やランドスケープと一体化した作品をつくること、2)デジタル技術やインターネットに代表される新しい技術や材料を用いること、3)地域住民が構想段階から参加でき、設置後も維持・管理に関与できるようにして、「パブリック」を主体的な参画者として捉えなおすこと。国際的な浜松に新たに設置するパブリックアートとしては、以上の3点を踏まえたもので、かつ、浜松に関係の深い住民同士の連帯感を強める「通信」メディア機能を持つものが相応しいであろう。, Public art can be categorized into 3 groups: 1) modern type functioning as a city symbol, 2) citizen involvement type representing historical episodes and social movements of a local community, 3) contemporary type promoting exchanges and communication among diverse groups of people. Chicago has all of the 3 groups of public atr, and eavh group gives the city distinctions. The cotemporary type is often equipped with electronic and media device and can be further categorized into 4 types: replay, transform, response, and communication based on their functional design. Public art of the future is expected to meet the following conditions: 1) synchronizing with the surrounding environment such as architecture and landscape, 2) utilizing new technologies such as digital device and the internet, 3) involving local residents in the entire process of public art project, from its planning to maintenance. The type of public art most suited to the international city of Hamamatsu would be the one which meets all of the 3 conditions above, and which facilitates communication and strengthen solidarity among diverse groups of people with connections to the city.

SUACの図書館は毎年の受入れ状況から換算するとあと数年で書架が飽和状態となることが予想される。一方で、全国の大学図書館に目を転じた場合、サービス面や空間的なデザインの側面からさまざまな工夫をこらし、学生の学習環境の向上を果たすことによって、ひいては大学独自の魅力として受験生や地域社会へのPR効果をもたらしている事例がみられる。そこで本研究では、本学図書館の蔵書スペースの問題や大学図書館としての特色のあり方について考察し、その可能性を提言する。, Possible solutions are sought on the issues the library of SUAC is faced with. One is how to deal with the problem of increasing books every year. The other is what kind of features can be added to distinguish the SUAC's library from other libraries.

本稿は、H19年度本学特別研究「持続的な社会を支えるサスティナブルデザインの基礎的研究(継続研究)」の研究成果報告である。本研究では、サスティナブルデザインの位置づけを明確にするための年表の作成、関連データの収集と公開を行った。また、H18年度に引き続いてSD公開研究会を開催するとともに、浜松市やまちづくりNPOとの共同研究組織を設立し、「自転車のまちづくりフォーラム」を共同で開催した。, This paper reports the result of a special research in 2007 " continuous fundamental research of the sustainable design supporting continuous society." In this research, creation of the chronology for clarifying sustainable design positioning, collection of related data, and public presentation were performed. SD symposiums were held continuously from 2006. The joint research organization with Hamamatsu city and NPO was founded, and "Forum for The Bicycle City" was held together.

本研究は、起業精神、先取り精神で多くの製造業(トヨタ、ホンダ、スズキ、ヤマハ、河合楽器、浜松ホトニクスなど)の創業者を輩出し、地方都市でありながら世界レベルの技術が集積し、それを形にする高いデザイン力を備えているモノづくりの街、浜松における文化のあり方としてのデザインを考察したものである。, This research, based on climate milieu and design, considers the design as the state of culture in Hamamatsu area where many manufacturing enterprises have been founded. This area has produced a large number of founders, of those enterprises, such as HONDA, SUZUKI, YAMAHA, KAWAI and HAMAMATSU PHOTONICS. Although it is a local city, the technology of a world level is accumulated, and the design as the state of the culture in the town of manufacturing is equipped with the high design power.

During the period, a joint research taskforce was established within the SUAC, and fundamental research on extraction of theoretical concepts of Sustainable Design, examination of case studies, and determination of essential subjects in our field were conducted. SD symposiums were held several times, which served as the occasion of information exchange and dissemination to a wider audience.

- Abstract
2006年11月にトリニティ・カレッジの代表者2名が本学を訪れた。その返礼も兼ねて、2007年9月に文化政策学部国際交流委員の3名が特別研究費の助成により同大学を訪問した。本稿では大学の概要や周辺の環境、留学プログラムについてまとめ、SUAC生の留学先としての評価も行った。さらに、同大学と文化政策学部の教育内容を比較して、共通点や交流により互恵となる分野の概要を示した(観光学、広告、アウトドア教育学)。芸術文化学科の立場からは、アーツ・マネジメント・プログラムについて調べ、両大学の教育内容の比較を行った。アーツ・マネジメント・プログラムを有している大学は世界でも限られるので、教育の充実と研究の向上のため、交流促進が望まれる。また国際文化学科・文化政策学科にとっても交流できる共通の教育分野が多くあること、1ヶ月の語学研修、および1〜2セメスターの長期留学によっても単位取得が可能なことなどから、大学間で国際交流を積極的に推進すべきであるという結論に至った。, Two representatives of the Trinity College visited SUAC in Nov.2006. In return for it, we, three members of the International Exchange Committee explored the College on our special research Sept. 2007 In this paper we inform on her history, environments, academic programs including the International Foundation Program with an observation and evaluation as a prospective sister college for the SUAC students to study abroad. By comparison of educational programs, the interested courses we can share such as Tourism, Advertisements, and Outdoor Education are pointed out. Especially, as there are few colleges in the world which have Arts Management Program, the Trinity College and SUAC will be able to strengthen a close tie henceforth in order to increase the quality of Arts Management education and to expand the research in this area. It is concluded that we should promote academic cooperation and exchange between the two by reason of common academic fields, and from the point that SUAC students can earn credits in the short term summer English Program as well as the long term Foundation Program.

静岡県がユニバーサルデザインを行政施策の中心の一つとすることを決めてから10年近くが経過しているが、なかなかそれが実態として地域に根付くまでに至っていない。本研究はそれを推進するための方策を検討するものとして位置づけ、当該年度は現状評価と将来に向けての方針の検討とを行った。, Almost ten years have passed since Shizuoka Prefecture decided to place universal design as a key concept of local community policy. However, the progress seems slower than hoped. Present research aimed to grasp the current status, and tried to find proposals for actual implementation of the concept.

In order to study the ability of meteor burst communications (MBC) as a new medium of data collection networks in Antarctica, we have performed a series of VHF data transmission experiments. In the experiment during the period of JARE-43 (the 43rd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition), a remote station at Zhongshan Station sent data packets to a master station at Syowa Station using a commercial MBC system. Together with meteor burst propagations, non-meteoric propagations were frequently observed during local nighttime. We found that they worked effectively for packet transmissions and greatly increased the data throughput. Overall data throughput obtained by this experiment was 0.63bps. In JARE-44, we added another remote station at Dome Fuji Station. Since the transmitted power from the master unit was split into two directions, data throughput from Zhongshan Station was reduced to 0.36bps. That from Dome Fuji Station was only 0.13bps. For the experiment in JARE-45, we replaced the commercial MBC system with a RANDOM (RAdio Network for Data Over Meteor) system developed by the authors. The experiment is being conducted between Syowa and Zhongshan Stations. The estimated data throughput during the period from April 1st, 2004 to August 31st, 2004 was 2.9bps.

先端科学技術と実用化との間には長期間にわたって大きなギャップがあった。最近では, 長い経済不況から脱却するために、新事業を創出し、経済を活性化することが望まれている。わが国において新事業を起すために、政府及び自治体は、種々の支援事業を計画・実行してきている。支援事業の目的は産学官の連携を促進することにある。例えば、20年前から多くの大学が科学技術の成果を民間企業に移転することを目的として、地域共同研究センターを設立してきた。最近ではこれらのセンターは成果を挙げつつあり、地域産業の振興に貢献するようになった。成果は必ずしも十分ではないが、産学官のギャップは小さくなりつつある。上述のような背景を踏まえ、本稿は産学官連携を必要とする背景、及び共同研究開発にとって有効な支援事業のいくつかについてその概要を述べる。また、産学官の共同研究開発を促進するための活動事例についても考察を加えながら紹介する。, For a long time past, there has been a wide gap between advanced science technology and it's application. And recently, to recover Japan from it's prolonged economic situation, entrepreneurs are expected to start new business to realize strong economic activities. To create new businesses in Japan, the government has been planning and executing various support programs. The purpose of the support programs are to encourage collaborative efforts between industry, government and university. For instance, in the past two decades, many universities have established cooperative research centers to increase the transfer numbers of certain technology innovations to the private corporations. As the result of their efforts, some of the centers have come under pressure to increase their performance and thereby stimulate local industries. Though its results are not enough satisfying, the gap between industry, academia and government is becoming narrower. Based on the above background, this paper explains the outline of the necessity of the collaboration between industry, government and academia and the effective support programs, which are useful support system for collaborations in research and development of science and technology. It also introduces activities to promote the joint research and development between industry, government and academia with our opinion.

- Abstract
浜松は冬の季節風が吹く地域で、凧をはじめ屋敷森など、風にまつわる文化を有している。この風を使って道具、情報、空間そして文化を開発する「浜松『風』プロジェクト」を推進している。風力発電は新エネルギーのなかで、近年注目されており、新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構によると日本全国で2001年で264台143,568kwの発電を行っている。近年、2000kwプロペラの直径75m、最高到達点100mクラスが設置されるなど、設備の大型化が進んでいる。発電を地域おこしに活用しているところがあるが、生活の身近なところに応用されている例は少ない。プロペラの直径1m程度の小型のものの開発、設置も進められているが、さらにコンパクトで身近な風力発電の応用開発が求められている。本研究では地域の企業の協力を得て、小型風力発電による応用デザイン開発を行った。, Hamamatsu is an area, which a cold wind blows in winter. Moreover, it is also the area of "the production of a thing" A Hamamatsu "wind" project is performing design development, while an area cooperates with an area from three sides of a product, space, and information based on the culture, which governs and uses a wind. It cooperated with SYSTEC Corporation, which is a system design and an electric device manufacture company as part of that, and application development of a small wind power system was performed. There are metal technology of a brass instrument, woodwork technology of a piano, etc. in this area. Such technology was utilized and design research and development of the outdoor light using Light Emitting Diode were done. This design development can make wind power existence familiar to a life.

本学の教育基本理念であるユニバーサルデザインは、デザイン学部の共通必須科目として位置付けられている。そのユニバーサルデザインについての様々な情報を各方面から継続的に収集し、体系的に集約して情報発信することで、ユニバーサルデザインの研究拠点としての基礎を確立しなければならない。これまで、わが国が福祉のモデルとしてきたのは北欧諸国であり、そのデザイン思想もヨーロッパ型になると考えられてきた。しかし、今日の日本におけるこの分野におけるデザイン理念は、アメリ力型の「ユニバーサルデザイン」が普及進行中である。かねてよりヨーロッパにおける「Design for All」う言葉と、アメリ力発の「Universal Design」にどのような違いがあるのか、その違いがあるとしたらそれをどう捉えたらよいのか気になっていた。今回の視察は、福祉先進国北欧2国 (デンマーク・スウエーデン) を訪問し、それらを肌で感じ、自分の目で実態を見て見極めようと言うことがねらいであった。, The "Universal Design" which is the educational basic idea of SUAC is positioned as a design faculty common required subject. We have to form the foundation as a research base by collecting information continuously and arranging it systematically from various directions, about a universal design. Our country came considering Northern European welfare as a model. Therefore, as for design ideology of Japan, it is natural to become Europe type design ideology. However, the design ideology of today's Japan has a United States type "Universal Design" in use. We wanted to understand the difference between a design ideas called "Design for All" of Europe and a U.S. "Universal Design" ideology. It aimed at what we feel the difference from experience and is confirmed by its eye in this inspection. What we understood was the figure, which the history of the long elderly-people welfare of Europe made sublimate a design idea to life culture. For us, a valuable discovery thing is a natural thing for Northern European men, and they are not especially conscious.

近年、社会の変化にともなう子育て環境の悪化に対して、公的な子育て支援体制の充実が望まれている。一方で、行政の施策とりわけまちづくりに対する地域住民の積極的な参加の動きが広がりつつある。浜松市は、平成13年11月、子どものための文化施設としての「浜松こども館」を開館した。われわれは平成13・14年度にそれぞれ静岡文化芸術大学文化政策学部長特別研究費の助成を受け、浜松こども館に市民の声を反映させる試みをおこなった。主な内容は、(1) 市民により構成される運営委員会に自主会合の機会を提供すること、および (2) 市街地における子育ての現状および浜松こども館へのニーズに関する大規模調査を実施することであった。これらは浜松こども館への直接のフィードバックの機会となり、また運営委員会による浜松市長宛の意見書作成を支援するものとなった。, Because of the deteriorating child raising environment in accordance with recent social change, people are asking for the improvement of the public child raising support system. On the other hand, more and more community residents are actively participating in administrative measures, especially that of community buildings. In November of 2001, Hamamatsu City opened the "Hamamatsu Children Plaza," a children's cultural facility. In 2001 and 2002, receiving a special research grant from the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Policy and Management, we tried to utilize citizens' voices in the Hamamatsu Children Plaza. Our project had two primary elements. (1) To provide a steering committee consisting of citizens who had opportunities to attend voluntary meetings. (2) The implementation of a large-scale investigation into current child raising conditions in the city and the needs of the Hamamatsu Children Plaza. These findings were used as direct feedback in the Hamamatsu Children Plaza and led to the steering committee sending a written opinion to the mayor of Hamamatsu City.

現在、国内において木造建築の建設促進に代表されるように、木の消費拡大が急務であることが指摘されている。本研究では、木の消費という経済的視点だけでなく、環境、地域、技術といった幅広い分野からも、木の文化の可能性について考察した。具体的には、木の文化研究会を設立し、森林や木材による地域づくりや大規模木造建築について調査及び情報収集を行った。また、シンポジウムの開催や木の家デザインコンクールの企画・実施を通して、木の良さを一般の人々ヘアピールすることも試みた。, Nowaday, it is the one of main economical issues in our sociaty that the planning of consumption of native wood products on an enlarged scale represented by the promotion of wooden building construction. In this paper, we have studied the possibility of wooden culture on the view points of environmental, regional, and technological aspects as well as economical one. Therefore, we have organized the research group about the wooden culture in Shizuoka University of Art and Culture, and did the fieldwork of large scale wooden architecture in Kyushu Area, and studied the regional activities on the wooden culture. Following the above our studies, the symposium of wooden culture was held and the wooden architectural design competition was carried out for the appeal of significance of wooden culture to the public.

本研究は、本学付属の産業史博物館 (仮称『産業考古学館』) 創設にあたって、浜松エリアにおける文化財のアイテム発掘に関する基礎調査としてすすめられてきた。今回の調査研究報告は、産業の発展に大きく寄与したと考えられる静岡県下の『軽便鉄道』の歴史的全体像を把握することにした。かつて、浜松エリアには、街の中心部より3路線の軽便鉄道が市の周辺に運行されていた。現在運行されているのは遠鉄鹿島線だけであり、奥山線は一部の土木構造物が史蹟として残され、中ノ町線は開発の波の中に完全に消え去ろうとしている。(資料 : 静岡県の鉄道の歴史、を添付した。) 1996年 (平成8年)、文化財保護法が改正され、新たに『登録文化財制度』の導入と重要文化財に『土木構造物』が認められることになった。このことは、消え去りつつある軽便鉄道の記憶を文化として、また、地域の生涯教育の一項目に加えることができるようになり、わが国の文化行政上、大変意義深い。(大学付属博物館一覧 : 2002年1月現在、を付表とした。), This report shows, in the first place, a short history of light railways in Shizuoka Prefecture, which contributed much to modern industrial developments and would be an exhibition-item of the planed museum. Secondly it handles the new entry-system of national cultural assets for the Industrial Heritage (structures of civil engineering ; a partial amendment of the Cultural Assets Protection Law, 1996) and university-museums in Japan(the status quo of January 2002).

技術造形学科教員が共同制作として、SUACの池を自走して撹拌することで清掃するロボットを制作した。ロボットの位置検出には、新しい技術であるDGPS (ディファレンシャルGPS) を利用し、エネルギー源として太陽電池を利用した。本稿ではDGPSの原理からシステム設計の詳細、デザインについて紹介した。, Pool Cleaning Robot applied DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System). Pool and pond often accumulate many waste. Pool Clenaning Robot suck the waste by pump and long pipe, and what's more filter out it. Robot have tow circular propellers which move forward, back, left, right and stop. Energy for 3DC motors are supplied 3 solare paneles. DGPS decide location of pool and position of robot.

- Abstract
Two kinds of experiments on the meteor burst communication(MBC) are now being conducted in the Antarctic to study the ability of MBC as a communication medium for data collection systems in that region. In the first one, continuous tone signal is transmitted from Zhongshan Station. The received signal at Syowa Station about 1400km apart is recorded and analyzed. This experiment is to study basic properties of the meteor burst channel in that high latitude region. From the data available thus far, we can see that 1) the sinusoidal daily variation in the meteor activity typical in mid and low latitude regions can not be clearly seen, 2) non-meteoric propagations frequently dominate the channel, etc. On the other hand, the second experiment is to estimate data throughput of a commercial MBC system in that region. A remote station at Zhongshan Station tries to transfer data packets each consists of 10 data words to the master station at Syowa Station. Data packets are generated with five min interval. We are now operating the system only five min in each ten min interval. About 60% of the generated data packets are constantly transferred to the master station within two hours delay.

- Abstract
This paper is the report on the Summer School in Kanbara which held in 2001 and 2002. The Summer School has opened four workshops in 2001 and two workshops in 2002 for townspeople of Kanbara and students of SUAC (Shizuoka University of Art and Culture). The purpose of this school is to contribute to the art and cultural activities in Kanbara, to give intelligence of the advanced and various art and culture of SUAC to the public, to make the cultural and human exchange between Kanbara and SUAC, and to brush up the teaching abilities of participated teachers and the learning abilities of participated students and townspeople. And, the school has obtained excellent results by judging from numbers of participants and their reputation in the final night presentation of workshops.

以下の6名の論考は、文化政策論の現状と展望・平成12年度(後期)学長特別研究費による研究会活動の報告である。研究会はメンバーを増やして昨年度後期に引き続き今年度も学部長特別研究費を認められ継続しているので、以下の論考は旧メンバーによる中間報告である。中間報告ということもあり、おおむね今年度の報告にまとめうべき内容へと展開する内容となっている。配列は提出順である。研究会としては、今年度のメンバーをくわえて、これに続く論考を冊子にまとめる予定である。, Our research topic is a cultural policy theory. A conceptural examination was first piled up about the terminology and implications of 'culture'. The society was held every month. Menbers sequentially did the research announcement from each specialized field. Each theme or title is as follows: Toward a pluralistic economic society; A consideration from highly development techonology adn cultural policy; A society constructionist study of internationally embedded social problems adn a study of international power elite structure and cultural policy; A consideration concerning some problems which become assumption or the grounds of cultural policy; A terminological review of culture in ENglish and Japanes, our narcissism and cynicism. We are critical to wome typical cultural policy theores that have been published so far.

This paper is the outline of the research on the citizen activities of city planning which were developed on the event "the City Planning Caravan in Hamamatsu" from August to November in 2000 This event was organized under the joint auspices of Hamamatsu City, the Japan Society of Urban and Regional Planners, the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture, and the related public corporations The two purposes of this study were to create the form of citizen participation in the future city planning and to form a clear view of civic needs toward the role of the University opened to the area Because, on the behind of this event,there are the movements for local decentralization of power and citizen participation in the contemporary Japanese society In the city planning, small cities are asked for the independent planning It is expected that citizen participation has an important role at the decision making of city planning On these situations, "the City Planning Caravan in Hamamatsu" was accomplished under the citizens'leadership with the support of the administration, planners, and the University

This paper is the interim report of the research and activities on the Roof Garden named Souzou no Oka (Creative Hill) of the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture in 2000 This study was done by an opportunity of completion of the Roof Garden which was the one of advanced largest roof gardens in the western area of Shizuoka Prefecture And the objective of this study was to collect and analyze fundamental information about the roof garden and to promote the roof garden construction in Shizuoka Prefecture As a result, 3 activities were carried out in 2000 These were to observe the growth conditions of the plant of roof garden, to open the information to the public on the Internet and establish the research network of roof garden, and to hold the symposium for the citizen enlightenment of green environment And this study would be continued under program for the development of roof garden design techniques

Artemisia pedunculosa, Polygonum cuspidatum and P. weyrichii are codominant species on the Hoei second crater of Mt. Fuji. The aim of this study is to describe root systems and the relationship between soil moisture and root morphology of these species. Most of the root distribution of A. pedunculosa was restricted within 20cm depth and was widely spread in the surface soil. More than 1m vertical and shorter horizontal root extension was found for the latter two species. The fine root mass per leaf area (FRMLA) of A. pedunculosa was more than 7 times and 3 times greater than these of P. weyrichii and P. cuspidatum, respectively. From the above results, A. pedunculosa depends on a large area of surface soil water, while the two Polygonum species depend on deep-layer soil water. The vertical root extension of the two Polygonum species is assumed to support their establishment on slope sites where surface soil movement is frequent and moisture content is low.
