Like other abiotic stresses, salt stress has become a major factor that restricts the growth, distribution and yield of crops. Research has shown that increasing the nitrogen content in soil can improve the salt tolerance of plants and nitrate transporter (NRT) is the primary nitrogen transporter in plants. Suaeda salsa (L.) Pall is a strong halophyte that can grow normally at a salt concentration of 200 mM. The salt stress transcriptome database of S. salsa was found to contain four putative genes that were homologous to NRT, including SsNRT1.1A, SsNRT1.1B, SsNRT1.1C and SsNRT1.1D. The cDNA of SsNRT1.1s was predicted to contain open reading frames of 1791, 1782, 1755 and 1746 bp, respectively. Sequence alignment and structural analysis showed that the SsNRT1.1 amino acids were inducible by salt and have conserved MFS and PTR2 domains. Subcellular localization showed they are on the endoplasmic reticulum. Overexpression of SsNRT1.1 genes in transgenic Arabidopsis improves its salt tolerance and SsNRT1.1C was more effective than others. We constructed a salt-stressed yeast cDNA library and used yeast two-hybrid and BiFC technology to find out that SsHINT1 and SsNRT1.1C have a protein interaction relationship. Overexpression of SsHINT1 in transgenic Arabidopsis also improves salt tolerance and the expressions of Na+ and K+ were increased and reduced, respectively. But the K+/Liratio was up-regulated 11.1-fold compared with the wild type. Thus, these results provide evidence that SsNRT1.1C through protein interactions with SsHINT1 increases the K+/Na+ ratio to improve salt tolerance and this signaling may be controlled by the salt overly sensitive (SOS) pathway. In this study, a novel cell membrane chromatography (CMC) model was developed to investigate cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147) targeted anti-tumor drug leads for specific screening and ligand-receptor interaction analysis by SNAP-tagged CD147 fusion protein conjugation and polystyrene microspheres (PS) modification. Traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) are widely used in the treatment of cancer. CD147 plays important roles in tumor progression and acts as an attractive target for therapeutic intervention; therapeutic drugs for CD147-related cancers are limited to date. Thus, a screening method for active components in TCMs is crucial for the further research and development of CD147 antagonists. However, improvement is still needed to perform specific and accurate drug lead screening using the CMC-based method. Recently, our group developed a covalently immobilized receptor-SNAP-tag/CMC model using silica gel as carrier. Besides the carboxyl group on multi-step modified silica particles, the amino group of benzyl-guanine (BG, substrate of SNAP-tag) also possesses reactivity towards the carboxyl group on available carboxyl-modified PS. Herein, we used PS as carrier and an extended SNAP-tag with CD147 receptor to construct the PS-BG-CD147/CMC model for active compound investigation coupled with HPLC/MS and applied this coupled PS-BG-CD147/CMC-HPLC/MS two-dimensional system to drug lead screening from Nelumbinis Plumula extract (NPE) sample. In addition, to comprehensively verify the pharmacological effects of screened ingredients, a cell proliferation inhibition assay was performed, and the interaction between the ingredients and CD147 was studied by the frontal analysis method. Current processing methods of face gear are mainly limited to gear shaping, gear hobbing, and other processes. Gear skiving is a new efficient gear machining technology, in order to realize the high precision and high-efficiency machining of face gear, this paper puts forward the skiving machining technology of face gear. The main research contents include an analysis of the machining principle and model of face gear skiving, deriving the gear skiving tool model by the modified rack according to the meshing principle, and solving the tooth surface model of face gear by envelope method. The findings suggest that the skiving technology can be used in the efficient machining of face gear, which the cutting edge curve of gear skiving tool can be solved by the intersection of rake face and tool tooth face, and the principle error of gear skiving cutter can be effectively reduced after the modification of rack parabola. In this article, a fully physically transient volatile memristor utilizing Mg as an active electrode with a structure of W/MgO/Mg/W was proposed. The fully transient device exhibited remarkable threshold switching (TS) performance via Mg2+ cations migration dynamics and emulated the paired-pulse facilitation (PPF), paired-pulse depression (PPD), and transition from short-term to long-term plasticity of a biological synapse successfully. In addition, a water-assisted transfer printing (WTP) method was exploited to fabricate the fully physically transient system on biodegradable and biocompatible substrates. This study confirms that the fully transient volatile memristor owns outstanding value toward security neuromorphic computing, biodegradable, and bio-integrated electronic systems. Traditional Chinese medicines played an important role in the treatment of COVID-19 in 2020. Ephedra sinica, one of the major constituent herbs of multi-component herbal formula, has been widely used to treat COVID-19 in China. However, its active components are still unclear. The objectives of this study are to screen and evaluate active components from the traditional Chinese medicine Ephedra sinica for the treatment of COVID-19. In our study, we established an ACE2/CMC bioaffinity chromatography model, and then developed an ACE2/CMC-HPLC-IT-TOF-MS system for the active compounds screening and identification from Ephedra sinica extract. We performed molecular docking and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assays to assess the binding characteristics (binding mode and KD value). We used CCK-8 staining to assess the toxicity of screened compounds, and also used SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus to observe the viropexis effect of screened compounds in ACE2h cells. In this current work, one fraction was fished out, separated and identified as ephedrine (EP), pseudoephedrine (PEP), and methylephedrine (MEP). Binding assays showed that the three compounds could bind with ACE2 in a special way to some amino acid residues, similar to the way SARS-CoV-2 bound with ACE2. Additionally, the three compounds, especially EP, can inhibit the entrance of SARS-CoV-2 spike pseudovirus into ACE2h cells because they can reduce the entrance ratio of pseudovirus in the pseudovirus model. Overall, the ACE2/CMC-HPLC-IT-TOF-MS system was established and verified to be suitable for ACE2-targeted bioactive compound screening. Ru-based catalysts have shown great potential for the environmentally friendly industrialization of acetylene hydrochlorination. However, the high cost and reduction of active sites in Ru catalysts have limited their practical applications. In this study, we propose a strategy to optimize the electronic structure of Ru single-atom catalysts by leveraging the strong coordination ability of ligands with the metal and apply this strategy to acetylene hydrochlorination. The experimental results verify that the performance of the catalyst increases with the increase of the ligand. Characterization results indicate that ligands not only optimize the electronic properties of Ru single atoms by forming a RuCl 2 -N structure, but also enhance the adsorption of reactants on the catalysts. DFT calculations reveal that the ligand-modified Ru species can efficiently adsorb and activate acetylene molecules, while the adjacent excessive ligand can adsorb and dissociate HCl molecules. This ultimately leads to an addition reaction between acetylene and HCl through a hydrogen overflow mechanism. Purpose: Several studies have suggested that liquid exosomes can be used as biomarkers for the diagnosis of lung cancer (LC). The purpose of this meta-analysis was to investigate the comprehensive diagnostic value of liquid exosomes for LC. Materials and methods: Relevant studies were searched from multiple electronic databases. The quality of the studies was assessed by the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 criteria in RevMan 5.3 software. Stata 14.0 software and Meta-disc 1.4 software were used to synthesize the diagnostic parameters. Publication bias was judged according to the Deeks' funnel plot asymmetry test. Results: There were 13 eligible articles that comprised 1,338 LC patients and 1,075 paired controls for the meta-analysis. The pooled sensitivity (SEN), specificity (SPE), diagnostic likelihood ratio positive (DLR+), diagnostic likelihood ratio negative (DLR-), diagnostic OR (DOR), and area under the curve (AUC) of liquid exosomes in diagnosing LC were 0.82 (95% CI: 0.76–0.87), 0.84 (95% CI: 0.77–0.89), 5.27 (95% CI: 3.58–7.75), 0.21 (95% CI: 0.15–0.29), 25.14 (95% CI: 14.25–44.33), and 0.90 (95% CI: 0.87–0.92), respectively. Research based on serum, miRNA, the isolation kit method, one index in exosomes, patient sample size of 50 or greater, and control group size of 50 or greater obtained higher AUC values when the LC type was small cell lung cancer. Conclusion : Liquid exosomes have shown potential as novel biomarkers that could facilitate LC diagnosis. Gamma interferon (IFN-γ) is known to negatively regulate murine gammaherpesvirus-68 (MHV-68 or γHV-68) replication. This process involves the suppression of the viral gene replication and transcription activator (RTA) promoter, as well as activation of signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT1). Notably, this effect is gradually attenuated during MHV-68 infection of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs), which raised the possibility that the virus may utilize a mechanism that counteracts the antiviral effect of IFN-γ. By identifying the cellular factors that negatively regulate JAK-STAT1 signaling, we revealed that the infection of BMMs by MHV-68 induces the expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling 1 (SOCS1) and that depletion of SOCS1 restores the inhibitory effect of IFN-γ on virus replication. Moreover, we demonstrated that the expression of SOCS1 was induced as a result of the Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) mediated activation of the NF-κB signaling cascade. In conclusion, we report that TLR3-TRAF-NF-κB signaling pathway play a role in the induction of SOCS1 that counteracts the antiviral effect of IFN-γ during MHV-68 infection. This process is cell type-specific: it is functional in macrophages, but not in epithelial cells or fibroblasts. In this study, we conducted the activity, diversity, and density analysis of transposable elements (TEs) across five avian genomes (budgerigar, chicken, turkey, medium ground finch, and zebra finch) to explore the potential reason of small genome sizes of birds. We found that these avian genomes exhibited low density of TEs by about 10% of genome coverages and low diversity of TEs with the TE landscapes dominated by CR1 and ERV elements, and contrasting proliferation dynamics both between TE types and between species were observed across the five avian genomes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that CR1 clade was more diverse in the family structure compared with R2 clade in birds; avian ERVs were classified into four clades (alpha, beta, gamma, and ERV-L) and belonged to three classes of ERV with an uneven distributed in these lineages. The activities of DNA and SINE TEs were very low in the evolution history of avian genomes; most LINEs and LTRs were ancient copies with a substantial decrease of activity in recent, with only LTRs and LINEs in chicken and zebra finch exhibiting weak activity in very recent, and very few TEs were intact; however, the recent activity may be underestimated due to the sequencing/assembly technologies in some species. Overall, this study demonstrates low diversity, activity, and density of TEs in the five avian species; highlights the differences of TEs in these lineages; and suggests that the current and recent activity of TEs in avian genomes is very limited, which may be one of the reasons of small genome sizes in birds. With the rapid progress of artificial intelligence, various perception networks were constructed to enable Internet of Things (IoT) applications, thereby imposing formidable challenges to communication bandwidth and information security. Memristors, which exhibit powerful analog computing capabilities, emerged as a promising solution expected to address these challenges by enabling the development of the next-generation high-speed digital compressed sensing (CS) technologies for edge computing. However, the mechanisms and fundamental properties of memristors for achieving CS remain unclear, and the underlying principles for selecting different implementation methods based on various application scenarios have yet to be elucidated. A comprehensive overview of memristor-based CS techniques is currently lacking. In this article, we systematically presented CS requirements on device performance and hardware implementation. The relevant models were analyzed and discussed from the mechanism level to elaborate the memristor CS system scientifically. In addition, the method of deploying CS hardware using the powerful signal processing capabilities and unique performance of memristors was further reviewed. Subsequently, the potential of memristors in all-in-one compression and encryption was anticipated. Finally, existing challenges and future outlooks for memristor-based CS systems were discussed. Here, the H+ generated by acid-treated Al 2 O 3 functions as an initiator, promotes the polymerization of 1,3-dioxolane (DOL) in a commercial liquid electrolyte (LE) which contains 1 M lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) in a mixed organic solution of 1,3-dioxolane (DOL) and 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) (1:1, v/v) to form gel polymer electrolyte (GPE). Owing to the fire-retarding property of Al 2 O 3 , the oxygen index of as-prepared GPE can reach up to 22.2%. Furthermore, a high Li+ transference number of 0.74 has been achieved by acid-treated nano Al 2 O 3. The –OH on the surface of acid-treated nano Al 2 O 3 can attract TFSI‐ anions by Lewis acid-base interaction and promote the dissolution of LiTFSI and enhance the mobility of Li+. Sequentially, the Li-Li symmetric cells based on as-prepared GPE show no evident polarization enlargement after 1000 h cycling under the current density of 1 mA cm−2, which means as-prepared GPE can effectively suppress the Li dendrite formation during the Li plating/stripping process. The lithium metal batteries (LMBs) using LiFePO 4 as a cathode deliver excellent rate performance with capacity retention up to 97% after a sequence of current density attributing to Li's good interfacial stability anodes. Background: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of acute lower respiratory tract infection in infants, children, immunocompromised adults, and elderly individuals. Currently, there are few therapeutic options available to prevent RSV infection. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of luteolin on RSV replication and the related mechanisms. Material and methods: We pretreated cells and mice with luteolin before infection with RSV, the virus titer, expressions of RSV-F, interferon (IFN)-stimulated genes (ISGs), and production of IFN-α and IFN-β were determined by plaque assay, RT-qPCR, and ELISA, respectively. The activation of Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) signaling pathway was detected by Western blotting and luciferase assay. Proteins which negatively regulate STAT1 were determined by Western blotting. Then cells were transfected with suppressor of cytokine signaling 1 (SOCS1) plasmid and virus replication and ISGs expression were determined. Luciferase reporter assay and Western blotting were performed to detect the relationship between SOCS1 and miR-155. Results: Luteolin inhibited RSV replication, as shown by the decreased viral titer and RSV-F mRNA expression both in vitro and in vivo. The antiviral activity of luteolin was attributed to the enhanced phosphorylation of STAT1, resulting in the increased production of ISGs. Further study showed that SOCS1 was downregulated by luteolin and SOCS1 is a direct target of microRNA-155 (miR-155). Inhibition of miR-155 rescued luteolin-mediated SOCS1 downregulation, whereas upregulation of miR-155 enhanced the inhibitory effect of luteolin. In order to reduce driving risk in the rainfall days, developing the variable speed limits (VSL) is effective. However, it is hard to develop suitable VSL aligning with travel speed of mainstream that it affected by the traffic flow, rainfall intensity, individual travel speed, peak hours, working days, random events, and so on. In this paper, the average travel speed and traffic flow of each road section are calculated from the toll collection data of Xi'an Ring Road from May to July in 2018 in Shaanxi Province, China. The weather data are collected and extrapolated to the corresponding road sections. Travel speed, traffic flow, and rainfall intensity are integrated to predict the fluctuation trend of travel speed through the proposed deep belief-radial basis function network. The experimental results show that a significant decrease happens in the travel speed in the rainfall day during peak hours. Furthermore, the deep learning algorithm that considers more factors such as the rainfall intensity and traffic flow could improve the prediction accuracy. Then, a VSL method and an expressway risk coefficient evaluation method based on estimation of average travel speed are proposed. The experimental results show that the variable 85th percentile speed limit method proposed in this paper can reduce the risk of expressway driving. A novel stability-enhanced graphene quantum dot (GQD)-decorated epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) cell membrane chromatography was constructed to study the potential application of GQDs in bioaffinity chromatography, and to screen active components acting on EGFR from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The carboxyl groups on the surface of GQDs reacted with the amino groups of the amino-silica gel (SiO2-NH2) to form a covalent bond, thereby preparing the GQD-decorated silica gel (SiO2-GQDs). The EGFR cell membrane was further immobilized on the SiO2-GQDs through the same covalent binding method to obtain the GQD-decorated cell membrane stationary phase (SiO2-GQDs-CMSP). In this way, the cell membrane was firmly immobilized on the decorated silica carrier. The life span and stability of the GQD-decorated cell membrane chromatographic (SiO2-GQDs-CMC) column were both enhanced, and the optimal immobilization conditions of the EGFR cell membrane were also determined. This model was then verified by establishing a SiO2-GQDs-CMC online liquid chromatography-ion trap-time-of-flight (LC-IT-TOF) system to screen possible active components in Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn. As a result, praeruptorin B (Pra-B) was screened out, and its inhibitory effect against EGFR cell growth was evaluated by the cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. Molecular docking assay was also conducted to further estimate the interaction between Pra-B and EGFR. Overall, this research indicated that GQDs may be a promising nanomaterial to be used in prolonging the life span of the CMC column, and Pra-B could be a potential EGFR inhibitor so as to treat cancer. Objectives: Diabetes aggravates the risk and severity of periodontitis, but the specific mechanism remains confused. Complement 3 (C3) is closely related to complications of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). In the present study, we concentrated on whether C3 mediates the development of periodontitis in T2DM. Materials and Methods: Levels of C3 in blood and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients were measured first. A C3‐knockout diabetic mouse model was established, real‐time PCR, Western blotting and histological investigation were performed to evaluate the progress of periodontitis. Microcomputed tomography (micro‐CT) and TRAP staining were performed to detect alveolar bone resorption. Immunofluorescence was performed to detect polarization of macrophages. Results: Our data showed that C3 levels were elevated in the blood and GCF of T2DM patients compared with non‐diabetic individuals. Increased C3 was closely related to the upregulation of inflammatory cytokines including interleukin (IL)‐1, IL‐6 and tumour necrosis factor‐alpha (TNF‐α), as well as the decline of the bone volume density (BMD) and bone volume over total volume (BV/TV) of the alveolar bones in diabetic mice. The deletion of C3 inhibited inflammatory cytokines and rescued the decreased BMD and BV/TV of the alveolar bones. C3‐mediated polarization of macrophages was responsible for the damage. Conclusion: T2DM‐related upregulation of C3 contributes to the development of periodontitis by promoting macrophages M1 polarization and inhibiting M2 polarization, triggering a pro‐inflammatory effect on periodontal tissues. Summary: Peroxisomes are small, ubiquitous organelles that are delimited by a single membrane and lack genetic material. However, these simple‐structured organelles are highly versatile in morphology, abundance and protein content in response to various developmental and environmental cues. In plants, peroxisomes are essential for growth and development and perform diverse metabolic functions, many of which are carried out coordinately by peroxisomes and other organelles physically interacting with peroxisomes. Recent studies have added greatly to our knowledge of peroxisomes, addressing areas such as the diverse proteome, regulation of division and protein import, pexophagy, matrix protein degradation, solute transport, signaling, redox homeostasis and various metabolic and physiological functions. This review summarizes our current understanding of plant peroxisomes, focusing on recent discoveries. Current problems and future efforts required to better understand these organelles are also discussed. An improved understanding of peroxisomes will be important not only to the understanding of eukaryotic cell biology and metabolism, but also to agricultural efforts aimed at improving crop performance and defense. Plant oils as the most typical and widest available biomass feedstocks have been employed to construct organic coatings. In contrast to the conventional plant oil-based thermoset coatings, it is still challenging to fabricate robust supramolecular plant oil-based coatings with reversible and dynamic noncovalent interactions, overcoming the drawbacks of thermoset coatings. In this work, we have reported a series of strong nucleobase-enhanced plant oil-based coatings with multiple supramolecular interactions such as hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, hydrophobic and coordination interactions. The nucleobase-functionalized supramolecular plant oil-based coatings display strong adhesion and outstanding environmental tolerance towards different pH conditions, the variation of temperatures, and UV irradiation. In order to optimize the polymerization of the plant oil-based monomer, the radical polymerization of methacrylate-type camellia oil monomer (MCO) was studied to understand the influence of the unsaturated carbon–carbon double bond in the appended long fatty chain on the polymerization of the methacrylate. The stable propagation radicals of methacrylate-type monomer result in the formation of branched plant oil-based polymers with high efficacy. The copolymerization of the plant oil-based and nucleobase-functionalized methacrylates and the supramolecular mixing achieves the maximum adhesion of 9.89 MPa, highlighting the potential of fabricating strong supramolecular plant oil-based coatings. Micro‐arc oxidation (MAO) is a surface treatment technology that enhances the surface properties of valves by creating a ceramic oxide layer on the metal surface. The goal of this study is to investigate the influence of current density on the properties of aluminum coatings during preparation and to improve the tribological properties of MAO/PTFE self‐lubricating films on the coating surface. The characterization of the coating was performed using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, Raman spectra, and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The roughness, hardness, and elastic modulus of the coatings were tested using atomic force microscopy and nanoindentation. Tribological experiments were conducted to evaluate the tribological properties of the coatings. The experimental results show that the friction coefficient (COF), roughness, hardness, and elastic modulus of the MAO coating increase with the increase of current density. Additionally, the friction coefficient of the MAO composite coating significantly decreases after the addition of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), improving the service life and application range of the metal coating. There is great potential for carbon-supported gold catalysts to replace toxic mercuric chloride-based catalysts in the acetylene hydrochlorination, which is a key process for producing PVC. However, the catalyst design is essentially hindered by the difficulties in enhancing the catalytic activity of cationic gold and suppressing the deactivation of active species. We report a strategy for self-oxidation of Au3+ by the Au-SILP system with the [Bmim][Cl 3 ] ILs. This strategy can stabilize all gold species in the state of highly oxidized Au3+ instead of coexisting in the Au3+/Au+ site, which makes the catalyst exhibit excellent catalytic activity. High coordination numbers Au-Cl entities reduce the electron transfer between Au3+ and C 2 H 2 and weaken the adsorption of C 2 H 2 on the Au active sites. Furthermore, [Bmim][Cl 3 ] ILs can self-oxidize gold nanoparticles on the support surface into Au3+. This study provides a new method for improving the stability and activity of gold-based acetylene hydrochlorination catalysts. Dimethoxycurcumin ( DMC) is a lipophilic analog of curcumin, an effective treatment for colon cancer, which has greater chemical and metabolic stability. Chemotherapy treatments, such as 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu), play a key role in the current management of colon cancer. In this study, we investigated the antitumor efficacy of DMC in combination with 5-Fu in SW480 and SW620 colon cancer cells. CCK-8 assay was used to evaluate the inhibitory effect of DMC and 5-Fu on cancer cells proliferation, and the combination index was calculated. The influence of DMC and 5-Fu on cell cycle, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species ( ROS) production, and mitochondrial membrane potential in SW480 and SW620 cells was determined using flow cytometry, and the related signaling pathways were detected by western blot. Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe endoplasmic reticulum expansion. DMC- and/or 5-Fu-induced apoptosis, stimulated G0/G1 phase arrest, increased ROS levels, decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, and enhanced endoplasmic reticulum expansion. The induction of apoptosis is involved in the increasing of Bax and cytochrome c and decreasing of Bcl2 expressions. Increased production of ROS was accompanied by upregulation of CHOP and Noxa. Combination therapy of DMC and 5-Fu had increased efficacy on the above pathways compared with either drug alone. Based on the calculated IC50, combination treatment with DMC and 5-Fu had an additive antitumor effect in both cell lines. Combined treatment with DMC and 5-Fu led to an additive antitumor effect in colon cancer cells that was related to apoptosis induction, G0/G1 phase arrest, increased ROS production, decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, and enhanced endoplasmic reticulum expansion. Both ZeBrafish (ZB), a recently identified DNA transposon in the zebrafish genome, and SB, a reconstructed transposon originally discovered in several fish species, are known to exhibit high transposition activity in vertebrate cells. Although a similar structural organization was observed for ZB and SB transposons, the evolutionary profiles of their homologs in various species remain unknown. In the present study, we compared their taxonomic ranges, structural arrangements, sequence identities, evolution dynamics, and horizontal transfer occurrences in vertebrates. In total, 629 ZB and 366 SB homologs were obtained and classified into four distinct clades, named ZB, ZB-like, SB, and SB-like. They displayed narrow taxonomic distributions in eukaryotes, and were mostly found in vertebrates, Actinopterygii in particular tended to be the major reservoir hosts of these transposons. Similar structural features and high sequence identities were observed for transposons and transposase, notably homologous to the SB and ZB elements. The genomic sequences that flank the ZB and SB transposons in the genomes revealed highly conserved integration profiles with strong preferential integration into AT repeats. Both SB and ZB transposons experienced horizontal transfer (HT) events, which were most common in Actinopterygii. Pseudo-allergic reactions (PARs) are IgE-independent hypersensitivity reactions. Mas-related G protein-coupled receptor-X2 (MrgX2) was proved the key receptor of PAR. The anti-pseudo-allergic compound discovery based on MrgX2 was of great value. Cell membrane chromatography (CMC) based on MrgX2 provides a convenient and effective tool in anti-pseudo-allergic compound screening and discovery, and further improvements of this method are still needed. In this work, SNAP-tag was introduced at C-terminal of Mas-related G protein-coupled receptor (MrgX2-SNAP-tag), and an MrgX2-SNAP-tag/CMC model was then conducted using CMC technique. Comparative experiments showed that the new model not only satisfied the good selectivity and specificity of screening but also exhibited more stable and longer life span than traditional MrgX2/CMC model. By coupling with HPLC–MS, two compounds were screened out from Arnebiae Radix and identified as shikonin and acetylshikonin. Nonlinear chromatography was performed to study the interactions between two screened compounds and MrgX2, and binding constant (KA) of shikonin and acetylshikonin with MrgX2 were 2075.67 ± 0.34 M−1 and 32201.36 ± 0.35 M−1, respectively. Furthermore, β-hexosaminidase and histamine release assay in vitro demonstrated that shikonin (1–5 μM) and acetylshikonin (2.5–10 μM) could both antagonize C48/80-induced allergic reaction. SUMMARY: Excessive nitrogen fertilizer application is harmful to the environment and reduces the quality of cereal crops. Maintaining crop yields under low nitrogen (LN) conditions and improving quality are important goals for cereal crop breeding. Although the effects of nitrogen assimilation on crop nitrogen‐use efficiency (NUE) have been intensively studied, natural variations of the key assimilation genes underlying grain development and quality are largely unclear. Here, we identified an NUE‐associated gene, OsGS1;1, encoding glutamine synthase, through genome‐wide association analysis, followed by validation experiments and functional analysis. Fifteen single‐nucleotide polymorphisms in the OsGS1;1 region led to alternative splicing that generated two functional transcripts: OsGS1;1a and OsGS1;1b. The elite haplotype of OsGS1;1 showed high OsGS1;1b activity, which improved NUE, affected grain development, and reduced amylose content. The results show that OsGS1;1, which is induced under LN conditions, affects grain formation by regulating sugar metabolism and may provide a new avenue for the breeding of high‐yield and high‐quality rice (Oryza sativa). Simple Summary: Despite the discovery of the Tigger family of pogo transposons in the mammalian genome, the evolution profile of this family is still incomplete. Here, we conducted a systematic evolution analysis for Tigger in nature. The data revealed that Tigger was found in a broad variety of animals, and extensive invasion of Tigger was observed in mammal genomes. Common horizontal transfer events of Tigger elements were observed across different lineages of animals, including mammals, that may have led to their widespread distribution, while parasites and invasive species may have promoted Tigger HT events. Our results also indicate that the activity of Tigger transposons tends to be low in vertebrates; only one mammalian genome and fish genome may harbor active Tigger. The data of this study revealed that Tigger was found in a wide variety of animal genomes, including 180 species from 36 orders of invertebrates and 145 species from 29 orders of vertebrates. An extensive invasion of Tigger was observed in mammals, with a high copy number. Almost 61% of those species contain more than 50 copies of Tigger; however, 46% harbor intact Tigger elements, although the number of these intact elements is very low. Common HT events of Tigger elements were discovered across different lineages of animals, including mammals, that may have led to their widespread distribution, whereas Helogale parvula and arthropods may have aided Tigger HT incidences. The activity of Tigger seems to be low in the kingdom of animals, most copies were truncated in the mammal genomes and lost their transposition activity, and Tigger transposons only display signs of recent and current activities in a few species of animals. Vinyl chloride, the monomer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), is industrially synthesized via acetylene hydrochlorination. Thereby, easy to sublimate but toxic mercury chloride catalysts are widely used. It is imperative to find environmentally friendly non-mercury catalysts to promote the green production of PVC. Low-cost copper-based catalysts are promising candidates. In this study, phosphorus-doped Cu-based catalysts are prepared. It is shown that the type of phosphorus configuration and the distribution on the surface of the carrier can be adjusted by changing the calcination temperature. Among the different phosphorus species, the formed P-C bond plays a key role. The coordination structure formed by the interaction between P-C bonds and atomically dispersed Cu2+ species results in effective and stable active sites. Insights on how P-C bonds activate the substrate may provide ideas for the design and optimization of phosphorus-doped catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination. Copper-based catalysts are widely investigated for the industrially important hydrochlorination of acetylene (PVC production), whereby phosphorus-doped carbon supports have been found to improve the catalyst's properties. Background: Colorectal neuroendocrine carcinomas (CRNECs) are highly aggressive tumours with poor prognosis and low incidence. To date, the genomic landscape and molecular pathway alterations have not been elucidated. Methods: Tissue sections and clinical information of CRNEC (n = 35) and CR neuroendocrine tumours (CRNETs) (n = 25) were collected as an in-house cohort (2010–2020). Comprehensive genomic and expression panels (AmoyDx® Master Panel) were applied to identify the genomic and genetic alterations of CRNEC. Through the depiction of the genomic landscape and transcriptome profile, we compared the difference between CRNEC and CRNET. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence staining were performed to confirm the genetic alterations. Results: High tumour mutation load was observed in CRNEC compared with CRNET. CRNECs showed a "cold" immune landscape and increased endothelial cell activity compared with NETs. Importantly, PAX5 was aberrantly expressed in CRNEC and predicted a poor prognosis of CRNECs. CCL5, a factor that is considered an immunosuppressive factor in several tumour types, was strongly expressed in CRNEC patients with long-term survival and correlated with high CD8+ T cell infiltration. The hydroxyapatite (HA) coating doped with multiple ions has attracted much attention due to its potential to impart various functions (antibacterial and osteogenic activity, etc.) to plastic surgery and dental implants. In this work, novel nano fluorohydroxyapatite (FHA) coatings substituted simultaneously with Sr2+ and Ag+ (SrAgFHA) were designed and successfully synthesized by one-step electrodeposition. Ag was used to impart antibacterial ability to SrAgFHA, and Sr can balance the potential cytotoxicity of Ag, thereby improving the cell compatibility of the composite coating. The SrAgFHA coating was consisted of closely aggregated/fused hexagonal columnar nanorods of ~100–150 nm. The nano-coating has higher corrosion resistance than FHA coating and uncoated Ti. Due to the doping of F, SrAgFHA nanorods have a complete single crystal structure and exhibit low degradability, which can ensure the long-term and slow release of Sr2+ and Ag+ ions. This nanorod coating with a low roughness and zeta potential was superhydrophobic and displayed good in vitro bioactivities, such as excellent apatite forming ability, which proves the osteoconductive nature. The results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy confirmed that by electrodepositing the SrAgFHA coating on the Ti surface, the corrosion resistance was significantly improved. SrAgFHA coating has the best antibacterial effect and osteogenesis ability, for example, the broad-spectrum antibacterial effect on E. coli and S. aureus is 96.5 and 96.8%, respectively, and it can induce osteoblast adhesion, proliferation and differentiation. The rabbit bone defect experiment showed that a large amount of new bone was formed around the SrAgFHA coated implant, and its early bone integration ability was the strongest. In summary, SrAgFHA strikes a balance between superior corrosion resistance, cytocompatibility and excellent antibacterial properties. Here, we comprehensively analysed the abundance, diversity, and activity of Tc1/mariner transposons in African coelacanth (Latimeria chalumnae). Fifteen Tc1/mariner autonomous transposons were identified and grouped into six clades: DD34E/Tc1, DD34D/mariner, DD35D/Fot, DD31D/pogo, DD30-31D/pogo-like, and DD32–36D/Tigger, belonging to three known families: DD34E/Tc1, DD34D/mariner, and DD×D/pogo (DD35D/Fot, DD31D/pogo, DD30-31D/pogo-like, and DD32-36D/Tigger). Thirty-one miniature inverted-repeat transposable element (MITE) transposons of Tc1/mariner were also identified, and 20 of them display similarity to the identified autonomous transposons. The structural organization of these full Tc1/mariner elements includes a transposase gene flanked by terminal inverted repeats (TIRs) with TA dinucleotides. The transposases contain N-terminal DNA binding domain and a C-terminal catalytic domain characterized by the presence of a conservative D(Asp)DE(Glu)/D triad that is essential for transposase activity. The Tc1/mariner superfamily in coelacanth exhibited very low genome coverage (0.3%), but it experienced an extraordinary difference of proliferation dynamics among the six clades identified; moreover, most of them exhibited a very recent and current proliferation, suggesting that some copies of these transposons are putatively active. Additionally, at least four functional genes derived from Tc1/mariner transposons were found. Adsorption and activation for substrates and the stability of Pd species in Pd-based catalysts are imperative for their wider adoption in industrial and practical applications. However, the influence factor of these aspects has remained unclear. This indicates a need to understand the various perceptions of the structure–function relationship that exists between microstructure and catalytic performance. Herein, we revisit the catalytic performance of supported-ionic-liquid-phase stabilized Pd-based catalysts with nitrogen-containing ligands as a promoter for acetylene hydrochlorination, and try to figure out their regulation. We found that the absolute value of the differential energy, |Eads(C2H2)-Eads(HCl)|, is negative correlated with the stability of palladium catalysts. However, the molecular evolution and domestication of pogo transposons, once designated as an important family of the Tc1/mariner superfamily, are still poorly understood. Results: Here, phylogenetic analysis show that pogo transposases, together with Tc1/mariner, DD34E/Gambol, and Zator transposases form four distinct monophyletic clades with high bootstrap supports (> = 74%), suggesting that they are separate superfamilies of ITm group. The pogo superfamily represents high diversity with six distinct families (Passer, Tigger, pogoR, Lemi, Mover, and Fot/Fot-like) and wide distribution with an expansion spanning across all the kingdoms of eukaryotes. It shows widespread occurrences in animals and fungi, but restricted taxonomic distribution in land plants. It has invaded almost all lineages of animals—even mammals—and has been domesticated repeatedly in vertebrates, with 12 genes, including centromere-associated protein B (CENPB), CENPB DNA-binding domain containing 1 (CENPBD1), Jrk helix–turn–helix protein (JRK), JRK like (JRKL), pogo transposable element derived with KRAB domain (POGK), and with ZNF domain (POGZ), and Tigger transposable element-derived 2 to 7 (TIGD2–7), deduced as originating from this superfamily. Two of them (JRKL and TIGD2) seem to have been co-domesticated, and the others represent independent domestication events. Four genes (TIGD3, TIGD4, TIGD5, and POGZ) tend to represent ancient domestications in vertebrates, while the others only emerge in mammals and seem to be domesticated recently. Significant structural variations including target site duplication (TSD) types and the DDE triad signatures (DD29–56D) were observed for pogo transposons. Although the DD41D (named as Visitor , VS) family of Tc1 / mariner transposons was discovered in Arthropods and Mollusca, the evolution profile of this family is still largely unknown. We found that VS is widespread in the animal kingdom, including 140 species of 18 orders in invertebrates and 30 species of 12 orders in vertebrates, and one land plant species. Our data revealed multiple horizontal transfer events in both invertebrates and vertebrates and invasion into multiple lineages of mammals, including Chiroptera (seven species), Dasyuromorphia/Marsupialia (one species), Didelphimorphia/Marsupialia (one species), Diprotodontia/Marsupialia (two species), and Primates (one species). Phylogenetic analysis revealed a close relationship of VS s to DD37D/ maT and DD34D/ mariner and confirmed that VS s with the DD40D signature identified previously are not a distinct family but originated from DD41D/ VS. Age analysis revealed that the most recent invasion of VS s was found in ray-finned fishes and a toad, followed by relatively young invasions in bats and marsupials, whereas VS s in mammals, jawless fishes, and lizards were mainly represented by ancient copies, suggesting old age. Phylogenetic analyses and comparison of pairwise distances between VS s and recombination-activating gene 1 (RAG1) support horizontal transfer events of VS s in vertebrates. The intact VS s from bats were nonfunctional as determined by the transposition activity assay. Some vertebrate lineages and species were identified as the hot hosts of Tc1/mariner transposons. Effective bone repair applications of titanium-based biometals must have excellent self-antibacterial properties and osteogenesis. Due to the special nano-geometric structure of titanium dioxide nanotubes (TN), the modified TN can confer various biological functions on the surface of titanium-based biometals. In this study, we used anodization, hydrothermal synthesis, and dopamine self-assembly to develop a Sm/Sr-doped TN (SSNT) array that integrated the antibacterial properties of Sm and the bone formation properties of Sr. AFM, SEM, FTIR, EDS, and XPS methods were used to characterize the SSTN, and the antibacterial and cell compatibility of the SSTN were systematically studied. Sm ions and Sr ions were slowly and stably released from the surface of dopamine and SrTiO 3 crystals, respectively. Compared with TN, SSTN had a smaller roughness and significantly improved hydrophilicity. The colony count, inhibition zone and turbidity experiments demonstrated that the SSTN structure containing Sm had obvious antibacterial effect on E. coli and S. aureus. The nanotube structure containing strontium ions can promote the early differentiation and osteogenic gene expression of MC3T3-E1 cells adhered to the SSTN surface. Based on the above results, the dual doping of Sm and Sr, and the ideal hydrophilicity can not only improve the osteogenesis of titanium-based biometals, but also make such bone implant biometals have effective self-infection resistance. The discovery of new members of the Tc1/mariner superfamily of transposons is expected based on the increasing availability of genome sequencing data. Here, we identified a new DD35E family termed Traveler (TR). Phylogenetic analyses of its DDE domain and full-length transposase showed that, although TR formed a monophyletic clade, it exhibited the highest sequence identity and closest phylogenetic relationship with DD34E/ Tc1. This family displayed a very restricted taxonomic distribution in the animal kingdom and was only detected in ray-finned fish, anura, and squamata, including 91 vertebrate species. The structural organization of TR s was highly conserved across different classes of animals. Most intact TR transposons had a length of ∼1.5 kb (range 1,072–2,191 bp) and harbored a single open reading frame encoding a transposase of ∼340 aa (range 304–350 aa) flanked by two short-terminal inverted repeats (13–68 bp). Several conserved motifs, including two helix-turn-helix motifs, a GRPR motif, a nuclear localization sequence, and a DDE domain, were also identified in TR transposases. This study also demonstrated the presence of horizontal transfer events of TR s in vertebrates, whereas the average sequence identities and the evolutionary dynamics of TR elements across species and clusters strongly indicated that the TR family invaded the vertebrate lineage very recently and that some of these elements may be currently active, combining the intact TR copies in multiple lineages of vertebrates. The development of robust catalysts for selective hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate (DMO) is key for the expansion of ethylene glycol (EG) production from C1 and renewable feedstocks. Copper-based catalysts promoted with Cr are industrially used, but it is desirable to develop more environmentally-benign alternatives. Silica-supported copper-zinc bimetallic catalysts featuring intimate metal contact are designed and used to establish the structure-performance relationships through combining in-depth characterizations with steady-state catalytic testing. Our study highlights: i) that the surface Cu0/Cu+ ratio is a reliable catalytic descriptor that determines the activity and selectivity, and ii) the importance of copper-zinc interface in stabilizing copper nanoparticles both under reduction and hydrogenation conditions. Controlled zinc doping allows fine tuning of these properties for the targeted reaction. Excellent performance has been achieved on the best-performing catalyst with >99.6% DMO conversion, >96.0% EG selectivity, and unprecedented stability of 800 h without catalyst deactivation, which represents a significant advance in the selective hydrogenations. Catalyzed acetylene hydrochlorination for vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) production is of great industrial importance, as VCM is the precursor for polyvinyl chloride. Carbon-based materials have recently been proposed as environmentally friendly and cost-efficient substitutes for highly toxic mercuric chloride catalyst, which is currently used for VCM manufacture. However, their practical application has been limited because of their relatively low reactivity, due to the lack of efficient active sites. Structural engineering of carbon-based materials has been proved a powerful strategy for tuning their physical and chemical properties, which are directly related to their catalytic properties. Here we present a novel and highly active nitrogen- and phosphorus-codoped carbon-based catalyst prepared using 1-ethylsulfonate-3-methylimidazolium dihydrogen phosphate [ESO 3 HMim+H 2 PO 4 −] as a phosphorus source and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide [EMim]+N(CN) 2 −] as a nitrogen source, which has shown unexpectedly high acetylene hydrochlorination activity with space-time yield comparable to that of some well-developed Au-based catalysts. Experimental observations in combination with density functional theory calculations demonstrated that phosphorus atoms bonded with nitrogen in the pyridine structure are the active sites for the best-performing NP-C600 catalyst. Insulin-like growth factor (IGF-I) is an important growth factor in mammals, but the functions of the local muscle-specific isoform of insulin-like growth factor 1 (mIGF-1) to skeletal muscle development have rarely been reported. To determine the effect of pig mIGF-1 on body development and muscle deposition in vivo and to investigate the molecular mechanisms, the transgenic mouse model was generated which can also provide experimental data for making transgenic pigs with pig endogenous IGF1 gene. We constructed a skeletal muscle-specific expression vector using 5′- and 3′-regulatory regions of porcine skeletal α-actin gene. The expression cassette was flanked with Sleeping Beauty transposon (SB)-inverted terminal repeats. The recombinant vector could strongly drive enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP) reporter gene expression specifically in mouse myoblast cells and porcine fetal fibroblast cells, but not in porcine kidney cells. The EGFP level driven by α-actin regulators was significantly stronger than that driven by cytomegalovirus promoters. These results indicated that the cloned α-actin regulators could effectively drive specific expression of foreign genes in myoblasts, and the skeletal muscle-specific expression vector mediated with SB transposon was successfully constructed. To validate the effect of pig mIGF-1 on skeletal muscle growth, transgenic mice were generated by pronuclear microinjection of SB-mediated mIGF-1 skeletal expression vector and SB transposase-expressing plasmid. The transgene-positive rates of founder mice and the next-generation F1 mice were 30% (54/180) and 90.1% (64/71), respectively. The mIGF-1 gene could be expressed in skeletal muscle specifically. The levels of mRNA and protein in transgenic mice were 15 and 3.5 times higher, respectively, than in wild-type mice. The body weights of F1 transgenic mice were significantly heavier than wild-type mice from the age of 8 weeks onwards. The paraffin-embedded sections of gastrocnemius from 16-week-old transgenic male mice showed that the numbers of myofibers per unit were increased in comparison with those in the wild-type mice. mIGF-1 overexpression in mice skeletal muscle may promote myofibers hypertrophy and muscle production, and increased the average body weight of adult mice. Simple Summary: Transposable elements, including DNA transposons, play a significant role in genetic material exchanges between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Comparative profiling of the evolution pattern of DNA transposons between prokaryotes and eukaryotes may identify potential genetic material exchanges between them and provide insights into the evolutionary history of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes. The members of the IS630-Tc1-mariner (ITm) group may represent the most diverse and widely distributed DNA transposons in nature, and the discovery of new members of this group is highly expected based on the increasing availability of genome sequencing data. We discovered a new superfamily (termed Sailor) belonging to the ITm hyperfamily, which differed from the known superfamilies of Tc1/mariner, DDxD/pogo and DD34E/Gambol, regarding phylogenetic position and catalytic domain. Our data revealed that Sailor was distributed in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and suggested that horizontal transfer (HT) events of Sailor may occur from prokaryotic to eukaryotic genomes. Finally, internal transmissions of Sailor in prokaryotes and eukaryotes were also detected. Here, a new superfamily of IS630-Tc1-mariner (ITm) DNA transposons, termed Sailor, is identified, that is characterized by a DD82E catalytic domain and is distinct from all previously known superfamilies of the ITm group. Phylogenetic analyses revealed that Sailor forms a monophyletic clade with a more intimate link to the clades of Tc1/mariner and DD34E/Gambol. Sailor was detected in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and invaded a total of 256 species across six kingdoms. Sailor is present in nine species of bacteria, two species of plantae, four species of protozoa, 23 species of Chromista, 12 species of Fungi and 206 species of animals. Moreover, Sailor is extensively distributed in invertebrates (a total of 206 species from six phyla) but is absent in vertebrates. Sailor transposons are 1.38–6.98 kb in total length and encoded transposases of ~676 aa flanked by TIRs with lengths between 18, 1362 and 4 bp (TATA) target-site duplications. Furthermore, our analysis provided strong evidence of Sailor transmissions from prokaryotes to eukaryotes and internal transmissions in both. Simple Summary: In the class of insects, bees are advanced evolutionary groups that play a pivotal role in ecosystem balance, agriculture, and food security. Transposons are the driving factors of genome evolution and speciation, which shape the genomes of almost all organisms. Among them, the Tc1/mariner and pogo superfamily, as the most widely distributed transposons in nature, are widely reported in insects. However, in bees, the research on transposons has never been systematically reported. Therefore, this study focuses on annotating the transposons of the Tc1/mariner and pogo superfamily of bees that were sequenced, revealing the distribution, diversity, potential activities, evolutionary patterns, and structural characteristics of transposons in different bees. Bees (Apoidea), the largest and most crucial radiation of pollinators, play a vital role in the ecosystem balance. Transposons are widely distributed in nature and are important drivers of species diversity. However, transposons are rarely reported in important pollinators such as bees. Here, we surveyed 37 bee genomesin Apoidea, annotated the pogo and Tc1/mariner transposons in the genome of each species, and performed a phylogenetic analysis and determined their overall distribution. The pogo and Tc1/mariner families showed high diversity and low abundance in the 37 species, and their proportion was significantly higher in solitary bees than in social bees. DD34D/mariner was found to be distributed in almost all species and was found in Apis mellifera, Apis mellifera carnica, Apis mellifera caucasia, and Apis mellifera mellifera, and Euglossa dilemma may still be active. Using horizontal transfer analysis, we found that DD29-30D/Tigger may have experienced horizontal transfer (HT) events. The current study displayed the evolution profiles (including diversity, activity, and abundance) of the pogo and Tc1/mariner transposons across 37 species of Apoidea. • Intermetallic Pd-Sn catalysts with designed composition are successfully synthesized. • A composition-performance relationship was established to demonstrate acetylene conversion, ethylene selectivity and stability. • |Eads(C2H2)-Eads(C2H4)| was used as a unified descriptor for the intrinsic catalytic properties of Pd-Sn catalysts. • This research provides an insight into the design principle of hydrogenation catalysts with desirable activity and selectivity. In Pd catalyzed acetylene semi-hydrogenation, high selectivity always comes at the expense of activity while improving both selectivity and activity is challenging. In this work, the performance of Pd alloy catalysts was enhanced by inserting Sn phase to modify both surface Pd ensembles and electronic structures. Compared with Pd/C, the optimal Pd 2 Sn/C catalyst exhibits higher selectivity at the same acetylene conversion level, with its selectivity increased from 10 % to nearly 95 % at ca 100 % acetylene conversion. Both experimental and DFT calculation results reveal that the specific performance is attributed to the redispersion of surface Pd ensembles by Sn insertion and down-shift of d-band center of catalysts, thus changing the adsorption behavior of the reaction gases. This design principle provides an efficient method for tailoring and optimizing durable Pd-based catalysts with desirable reactivity and ethylene selectivity for selective hydrogenation of acetylene. Alternative palladium (Pd)-based catalysts to toxic mercuric chloride catalysts in vinyl chloride manufacture via acetylene hydrochlorination is currently limited by the lack of efficient and durable active sites. Here, the catalytic behavior of Pd-based catalysts with tunable nanostructures and coordination bonds were investigated. The evolution of Pd entities were precisely regulated by controlled thermal treatment. Pyridinic nitrogen is shown to regulate the nanostructures and coordination bonds of Pd sites, improve the thermal stability of Pd atoms, promote the adsorption of acetylene and enrich hydrogen chloride. These results indicate that Pd single-atom is more active than Pd nanoparticle or Pd cluster. The catalytic performance of Pd single-atom catalyst can be further improved by substituting Pd-Cl bond with Pd-N bond, with PdN 2 identified as the efficient and durable active sites. Furthermore, the enrichment of hydrogen chloride enables the Pd single-atom catalysts to produce vinyl chloride via a non-hydrogen chloride excess method, which is a breakthrough in the existing industrial system. Gold catalysts have been reported to exhibit good performance in aerobic oxidation of alcohols, but the intrinsic origin of the catalytic reactivity is still illusive. The catalyst preparation method, the morphology of the gold particles, and even the support might be key factors that determine the activity. Here, we prepared a series of gold catalysts with different supports, i.e., the hydrotalcite (HT), ZnO, MgO, Al2O3, and SiO2, by using the atomically controlled Au25 nanoclusters (NCs) as the gold precursor. The characterization results of the X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) show that the gold particles were mostly uniformly distributed on the supports, with a mean particle size within 3 nm. In aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol, the MgAl-HT- and Al2O3-supported Au25 NCs display good performances, with turnover frequency (TOF) values of ~2927 and 2892 h−1, respectively, whereas the SiO2-, MgO-, and ZnO-supported analogues show much inferior activity. The high resolution TEM and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) results suggest that the interactions between gold and the supports in different samples are differing, which influences the morphology and the nature of gold. Our results further point to the importance of acid-base property of the support and the metal-support synergy rather than the gold particle size alone in achieving high-performance in selective alcohol oxidation. Moreover, this work provided a good way to design gold catalysts with controllable sizes that is crucial for understanding the reaction process in aerobic oxidation of alcohol. Background: The Tc1/mariner superfamily might represent the most diverse and widely distributed group of DNA transposons. Several families have been identified; however, exploring the diversity of this superfamily and updating its classification is still ongoing in the life sciences. Results: Here we identified a new family of Tc1/mariner transposons, named Incomer (IC), which is close to, but distinct from the known family DD34E/Tc1. ICs have a total length of about 1.2 kb, and harbor a single open reading frame encoding a ~ 346 amino acid transposase with a DD36E motif and flanked by short terminal inverted repeats (TIRs) (22–32 base pairs, bp). This family is absent from prokaryotes, and is mainly distributed among vertebrates (141 species of four classes), including Agnatha (one species of jawless fish), Actinopterygii (132 species of ray-finned fish), Amphibia (four species of frogs), and Mammalia (four species of bats), but have a restricted distribution in invertebrates (four species in Insecta and nine in Arachnida). All ICs in bats (Myotis lucifugus, Eptesicus fuscus, Myotis davidii, and Myotis brandtii) are present as truncated copies in these genomes, and most of them are flanked by relatively long TIRs (51–126 bp). High copy numbers of miniature inverted-repeat transposable elements (MITEs) derived from ICs were also identified in bat genomes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that ICs are more closely related to DD34E/Tc1 than to other families of Tc1/mariner (e.g., DD34D/mariner and DD × D/pogo), and can be classified into four distinct clusters. The host and IC phylogenies and pairwise distance comparisons between RAG1 genes and all consensus sequences of ICs support the idea that multiple episodes of horizontal transfer (HT) of ICs have occurred in vertebrates. In addition, the discovery of intact transposases, perfect TIRs and target site duplications of ICs suggests that this family may still be active in Insecta, Arachnida, frogs, and fish. Conclusions: Exploring the diversity of Tc1/mariner transposons and revealing their evolutionary profiles will help provide a better understanding of the evolution of DNA transposons and their impact on genomic evolution. Here, a newly discovered family (DD36E/Incomer) of Tc1/mariner transposons is described in animals. It displays a similar structural organization and close relationship with the known DD34E/Tc1 elements, but has a relatively narrow distribution, indicating that DD36E/IC might have originated from the DD34E/Tc1 family. Background: Retrotransposons are the major determinants of genome sizes and they have shaped both genes and genomes in mammalian organisms, but their overall activity, diversity, and evolution dynamics, particularly their impact on protein coding and lncRNA genes in pigs remain largely unknown. Results: In the present study, we performed de novo detection of retrotransposons in pigs by using multiple pipelines, four distinct families of pig-specific L1 s classified into 51 distinct subfamilies and representing four evolution models and three expansion waves of pig-specific SINEs represented by three distinct families were identified. ERVs were classified into 18 families and found two most "modern" subfamilies in the pig genome. The transposition activity of pig L1 was verified by experiment, the sense and antisense promoter activities of young L1 5′UTRs and ERV LTRs and expression profiles of young retrotransposons in multiple tissues and cell lines were also validated. Furthermore, retrotransposons had an extensive impact on lncRNA and protein coding genes at both the genomic and transcriptomic levels. Most protein coding and lncRNA (> 80%) genes contained retrotransposon insertions, and about half of protein coding genes (44.30%) and one-fourth (24.13%) of lncRNA genes contained the youngest retrotransposon insertions. Nearly half of protein coding genes (43.78%) could generate chimeric transcripts with retrotransposons. Significant distribution bias of retrotransposon composition, location, and orientation in lncRNA and protein coding genes, and their transcripts, were observed. Conclusions: In the current study, we characterized the classification and evolution profile of retrotransposons in pigs, experimentally proved the transposition activity of the young pig L1 subfamily, characterized the sense and antisense expression profiles and promoter activities of young retrotransposons, and investigated their impact on lncRNA and protein coding genes by defining the mobilome landscapes at the genomic and transcriptomic levels. Background and Aims: Serum GP73 is a useful biomarker in assessing hepatic fibrosis degree. The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of serum GP73 level for posthepatectomy short-term outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients.Methods: A total of 280 patients undergoing liver resection for HCC between October 2015 and April 2018 were included in this study. Detailed preoperative clinicopathological data were collected and GP73 levels in serum obtained the day before hepatectomy were examined. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was used to calculate the optimal cutoff of GP73, and independent risk factors for postoperative outcomes was assessed by logistic regression model.Results: The mean GP73 level in patients was 111.8 ± 153.3 ng/mL. Serum GP73 levels were correlated with the METAVIR fibrosis score. Overall complications occurred in 145 patients and major complications developed in 29 patients. ROC analysis demonstrated that the predictive power of serum GP73 for postoperative outcomes was greater than the Child-Pugh score, ALBI score, FIB-4 index and APRI score. The optimal value of serum GP73 to predict overall complications and major complications was 80.9 and 79.2 respectively. Serum GP73 levels were independent factors affecting the incidence of overall complications (odds ratio [OR], 3.996; 95% CI 2.152-7.421; P < 0.001) and major complications (OR, 4.970; 95% CI 1.654-14.934; P = 0.004) by multivariate analysis.Conclusion: Serum GP73 is a useful tool to stratify HCC patients and to predict short-term outcomes after hepatectomy. Although transposon-mediated enhancer trapping (ET) is successfully applied in diverse models, the efficiency of various transposon systems varies significantly, and little information is available regarding efficiency of enhancer trapping by various transposons in zebrafish. Most potential enhancers (Ens) still lack evidence of actual En activity. Here, we compared the differences in ET efficiency between sleeping beauty (SB), piggyBac (PB) and Tol2 transposons. Tol2 represented the highest germline transfer efficiencies at 55.56% (NF0 = 165), followed by SB (38.36%, NF0 = 151) and PB (32.65%, NF0 = 149). ET lines generated by the Tol2 transposon tended to produce offspring with a single expression pattern per line, while PB and SB tended to generate embryos with multiple expression patterns. In our tests, 10 putative Ens (En1–10) were identified by splinkerette PCR and comparative genomic analysis. Combining the GFP expression profiles and mRNA expression patterns revealed that En1 and En2 may be involved in regulation of the expression of dlx1a and dlx2a, while En6 may be involved in regulation of the expression of line TK4 transgene and rps26, and En7 may be involved in the regulation of the expression of wnt1 and wnt10b.
