Abstract

The probability distribution of the conductance Pc(g) at the Anderson critical point is calculated. It is find that Pc(g) has a dip at small g in agreement with epsilon expansion results. The Pc(g) for the 3d system is quite different from the 2d quantum critical point of the integer quantum Hall effect. Abstract

In order to reveal the solidification behavior of Cr in the cement clinker mineral phase, 29Simagic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electronmicroscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques were used to analyze themorphology and composition of the cement clinker mineral phase doped with Cr. The resultsshowed that the addition of Cr did not change the chemical environment of 29Si in the clinkermineral phase, and it was still an isolated silicon&ndash, oxygen tetrahedron. Cr affected the orientation ofthe silicon&ndash, oxygen tetrahedron and the coordination number of calcium, leading to the formationof defects in the crystal structure of the clinker mineral phase, by replacing Ca2+ into the mineralphase lattice to form a new mineral phase Ca3Cr2(SiO4)3. Cr acted as a stabilizer for the formation of&beta, C2S in the clinker calcination. As the amount of Cr increased, the relative content of C3S decreasedand the relative content of C2S increased. Further, Cr easily dissolved in C2S, while it was not foundin C3S. This study is conducive to further research on the mechanism of heavy metal solidificationin cement clinker. Furthermore, it is important to evaluate the environmental risk of heavy metalsin the process of sludge disposal through cement kiln and promote the utilization of sludgeresources and the sustainable development of the cement industry.

Abstract

Karyotypes of nine Tagetes erecta L. accessions and three Tagetes patula L. accessions were studied. The chromosome numbers of T. erecta and T. patula were 2n=2x=24 and 2n=4x=48, respectively. The karyotype formulae of T. erecta L. ‘Scarletade’ and ‘Perfection Yellow’ are 2n=2x=24=4sm+20m; ‘9901AB’ and ‘Harvest’, 2n=2x=24=2sm+22m; ‘Taishan’, 2n=2x=24=14sm+10m; ‘Marvel’ and ‘Perfection Orange’, 2n=2x=24=24m. The karyotype formulae of T. patula L.: ‘GoldenGate’ and ‘Janie’ are2n=4x=48=4sm+44m; ‘Little Hero’, 2n=4x=48=48m. Key words: Tagetes erecta L., Tagetes patula L., chromosome, karyotype.

Abstract

The placement and development of the visual word form area (VWFA) have commonly been assumed to depend, in part, on its connections with language regions. In this study, we specifically examined the effects of auditory speech experience deprivation in shaping the VWFA by investigating its location distribution, activation strength, and functional connectivity pattern in congenitally deaf participants. We found that the location and activation strength of the VWFA in congenitally deaf participants were highly comparable with those of hearing controls. Furthermore, while the congenitally deaf group showed reduced resting-state functional connectivity between the VWFA and the auditory speech area in the left anterior superior temporal gyrus, its intrinsic functional connectivity pattern between the VWFA and a fronto-parietal network was similar to that of hearing controls. Taken together, these results suggest that auditory speech experience has consequences for aspects of the word form-speech sound correspondence network, but that such experience does not significantly modulate the VWFA's placement or response strength. This is consistent with the view that the role of the VWFA might be to provide a representation that is suitable for mapping visual word forms onto language-specific gestures without the need to construct an aural representation., (© The Author 2014.
