On an annual basis, China’s “Two Sessions” draw researchers’ attention to the study of interpreting that comes along. However, the related research mostly focuses on interpreting strategies and skills, and rarely involves the interpreter who produces the interpreting. This paper collects both of two interpreters’ texts at the press conferences of the “Two Sessions” from 2010 to 2020 to build a parallel corpus. By comparing their interpreting, with the speeches of the leaders of the White House as a comparable corpus, the study seeks to probe into the similarities and differences between the interpreting styles of two interpreters from the linguistic perspective. It is found that when interpreting, the interpreter Sun has richer vocabulary and a higher lexical density than the interpreter Zhang. The interpreting style of Sun is closer to the written style, while Zhang’s style is more colloquial. Compared with the transcripts of the U.S. press conference, the linguistic features of Zhang’s interpreting is more similar to those in the comparable corpus in vocabulary richness, word length and readability. Therefore, Zhang’s interpreting might be more likely to be intelligible and acceptable to English speakers.

Highlights: The main mechanisms and clinical potential of sonodynamic therapy are emphasized. The nanomaterials provide new prospects and development directions for enhancing the treatment of cancer. Recent developments of sonodynamic therapy for deep tumors that are difficult to reach by traditional treatment, especially orthotopic cancers. Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) as an emerging modality for malignant tumors mainly involves in sonosensitizers and low-intensity ultrasound (US), which can safely penetrate the tissue without significant attenuation. SDT not only has the advantages including high precision, non-invasiveness, and minimal side effects, but also overcomes the limitation of low penetration of light to deep tumors. The cytotoxic reactive oxygen species can be produced by the utilization of sonosensitizers combined with US and kill tumor cells. However, the underlying mechanism of SDT has not been elucidated, and its unsatisfactory efficiency retards its further clinical application. Herein, we shed light on the main mechanisms of SDT and the types of sonosensitizers, including organic sonosensitizers and inorganic sonosensitizers. Due to the development of nanotechnology, many novel nanoplatforms are utilized in this arisen field to solve the barriers of sonosensitizers and enable continuous innovation. This review also highlights the potential advantages of nanosonosensitizers and focus on the enhanced efficiency of SDT based on nanosonosensitizers with monotherapy or synergistic therapy for deep tumors that are difficult to reach by traditional treatment, especially orthotopic cancers. The community is the primary living environment of youth groups and serves as a bridge between the individual and society. However, few studies have examined how the social environment affects mental health by influencing the social sustainability of the community. This study examines the chain mediating effects of neighbor interactions, reciprocity, and perceived work stress (i.e., social sustainability of communities) in the association of social trust (i.e., social environment) and mental health among Chinese young adults. The data came from the cross-section data from the Chinese General Social Survey (2021). Multiple linear regression models revealed that both social trust and neighbor interactions were significantly and positively related to the mental health of young adults. The structural equation model revealed that social trust had a direct effect on increasing neighbor interactions, which in turn indirectly influenced neighbor reciprocity and perceived work stress, and gradually resulted in the reduction of depressed mood. The findings indicate that neighbor interactions could be advocated and strengthened in communities. Additionally, policymakers should create a more trusting and inclusive social environment to improve the mental health of young adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reward processing dysfunction and inhibition control deficiency have been observed in Internet gaming disorder (IGD). However, it is still unclear whether the previous reinforcement learning depends on reward/punishment feedback influences on the cognitive inhibitory control of IGD. This study compared the differences between an IGD group and healthy people without game experiences in the probability selection task and the subsequent stop signal task by the method of behavioral experiments, in order to explore whether the reward learning ability is impaired in the IGD group. We also discuss the influence of previous reward learning on subsequent inhibition control. The results showed that (1) during the reward learning phase, the IGD group's accuracy was significantly lower than that of the control group; (2) compared with the control group, the IGD group's reaction times were longer in the transfer phase; (3) for no‐go trials of the inhibitory control phase after reward learning, the accuracy of the reward‐related stimulation in the IGD group was lower than that of punishment‐related or neutral stimulation, but there was no significant difference among the three conditions in the control group. These findings indicated that the reinforcement learning ability of the IGD group was impaired, which further caused the abnormal response to reinforcement stimuli. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aimed at the wind-induced response and vibration reduction of an H-rotor type three-bladed vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), and based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, a numerical simulation is conducted to obtain the blade wind pressure distribution during the rotation period. Then, the wind pressure obtained is applied to the surface of the blades to analyze the wind vibration response of the VAWT. Dampers are arranged at different positions of the VAWT to simulate the vibration reduction capacity. The results show that applying the damper at the connection between the main shaft and the support rod of VAWT could reduce the displacement response of the structure to a certain extent and the maximum drop would reach 44%. Furthermore, the displacement reduction rate of the structure is related to the position of the damper. If a damper is arranged near the top end of the blade, the maximum displacement of the structure would occur at the bottom of the blade. However, if a damper is arranged near the bottom end of the blade, the maximum displacement of the structure would occur at the top of the blade and the maximum drop would reach 40.7%. The results would provide technical reference for research on the vibration reduction of VAWT structures.

In order to solve the severe erosion of kiln refractories for the high‐temperature treatment used during the process of recovering valuable metal elements from waste lithium batteries, this study investigates the low‐cost, no‐firing preparation technology of erosion‐resistant SiC–C–t‐ZrO2 composites with self‐prepared t‐ZrO2–SiC–C powder, as well as silicon carbide and flake graphite as the main raw materials, and phenolic resin as the binding agent. (1) The effects of different t‐ZrO2–SiC–C powder additions and heat treatment temperatures on the properties of SiC–C–t‐ZrO2 composites were studied in details. (2) The erosion resistance of SiC–C–t‐ZrO2 composites to after‐use lithium battery waste was evaluated using the static crucible method. The mechanical properties of the t‐ZrO2–SiC–C composites was the best that its cold modulus of rupture (CMOR) was 11.37 MPa and cold crush strength (CCS) was 41.96 MPa when heat treatment temperature was 600°C and content of t‐ZrO2–SiC–C powder was 10 wt%. At that condition, the bulk density of samples reached to 3.15 g/cm3 and apparent porosity of it was only at 11.09% which means that the samples designed in this work are compacted enough. This study examined the thermal reflective properties of composite inorganic coatings applied to various wall types. It evaluated the influence of these coatings on the thermal insulation and reflectivity of the walls. The findings indicate that coating application markedly enhances a wall's thermal insulation capabilities and increases its heat flux reflection ratio. These results offer crucial theoretical backing and practical guidance for the future use of coating technologies in construction. By refining the coating formulations and application processes, the thermal insulation properties of walls can be further enhanced, thus making a significant contribution to building energy efficiency and environmental protection. Density functional theory (DFT) is employed to investigate the promotion of B(C6F5)3 as a ligand for titanium (or vanadium) catalysts in ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization reactions. The results reveal that (I) Ethylene insertion into TiB (with B(C6F5)3 as a ligand) is preferred over TiH, both thermodynamically and kinetically. (II) In TiH and TiB catalysts, the 2,1 insertion reaction (TiH21 and TiB21) is the primary pathway for 1-hexene insertion. Furthermore, the 1-hexene insertion reaction for TiB21 is favored over TiH21 and is easier to perform. Consequently, the entire ethylene and 1-hexene insertion reaction proceeds smoothly using the TiB catalyst to yield the final product. (III) Analogous to the Ti catalyst case, VB (with B(C6F5)3 as a ligand) is preferred over VH for the entire ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization reaction. Moreover, VB exhibits higher reaction activity than TiB, thus agreeing with experimental results. Additionally, the electron localization function and global reactivity index analysis indicate that titanium (or vanadium) catalysts with B(C6F5)3 as a ligand exhibit higher reactivity. Investigating the promotion of B(C6F5)3 as a ligand for titanium (or vanadium) catalysts in ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization reactions will aid in designing novel catalysts and lead to more cost-effective polymerization production methods. Density functional theory (DFT) was used to investigate the three-component coupling reactions of aldehydes, alkynes, and amines (A3 coupling) using N-heterocyclic carbene silver as the catalyst. This study reveals that the addition reaction between the catalyst N-heterocyclic carbene silver and phenylacetylene (PAE) forms Ag_PAE. Subsequently, one hydrogen atom of the Ag_PAE migrates to the nitrogen atom of the Amine. Thereafter, the amine aldehyde condensation reaction generates a molecule of water and an imine ion with (Path one) or without (Path two) another amine catalyst. Path one has a lower reaction barrier than Path two. Subsequently, the imine ion reacts with silver phenylacetylide to generate the A3 coupling reaction product propargylamine (PPA). Furthermore, the triple bond and −N3 group in PPA undergo a cycloaddition reaction and generate the final product (PR). The entire reaction is strongly exothermic, and, therefore, the reaction is easy to conduct. Moreover, conceptual density functional theory calculations confirm the reaction mechanism. Investigating the mechanism of these reactions will be helpful for understanding and developing new synthesis strategies for similar functional compounds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims/Introduction: To investigate the impact of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) on atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes patients with normal bodyweight (OB[−]) in the Chinese population, and to further assess the sex–age differences between them. Materials and Methods: A total of 8,839 type 2 diabetes patients from two of the National Metabolic Management Centers in China were included in this study. Participants were classified into four groups by visceral fat area (VFA; cm2) and body mass index (BMI; kg/m2): VFA < 100 and BMI < 23.9 (VA[−]OB[−]), VFA < 100 and BMI ≥ 23.9 (VA[−]OB[+]), VFA ≥ 100 and BMI < 23.9 (VA[+]OB[−]), VFA ≥ 100 and BMI ≥ 23.9 (VA[+]OB[+]). Atherosclerosis was defined by brachial‐ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV; cm/s), and we analyzed the association between VFA, BMI and the tertiles of baPWV values. Results: The VA(+)OB(−) prevalence was 3.7% among these participants. Patients with VA(+)OB(−) had the highest baPWV value (P < 0.001) and the highest proportion of the tertile 3 of baPWV (P < 0.001) among four groups, and were significantly associated with baPWV (standardized β = 0.026, P = 0.008). VFA was significantly related to tertile 2 to tertile 3 of baPWV in (OB[−]) type 2 diabetes patients, when compared with tertile 1 of baPWV, respectively. In sex–age stratified analysis, the association of VFA and the tertiles of baPWV showed sex differences. For the 55 years age stratification analysis, there was no age difference in the relationship between VFA and baPWV in (OB[−]) patients. Conclusion: Increased VAT was an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis in female type 2 diabetes patients with normal weight. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
