2. Age Management Principles in Czech Agrarian Sector.

Abstract

Within the frame of the entire economy, the modern conception of Age Management enables each and every employee to use their full potential without being put at a disadvantage for age reasons. Despite the fact that this area is important in terms of current demographic development, there are organisations that do not implement its measures. The article therefore concentrates on the identification and evaluation of Age Management application by Czech agricultural businesses. The data analysed was obtained based on a quantitative survey in which data was collected by means of a questionnaire survey (total companies: n=315, agricultural businesses: na=60). The outcomes show that Czech agricultural businesses are not quite familiar with the application of Age Management measures. One of the conclusions of the article is that from the social point of view Age Management measures may help improve the situation on the labour market, labour productivity, encourage young people to work in the agricultural sector and, last but not least, build, on the organisational level, an employer's brand. Application of Age Management causes on the employees performance but also on the costs reduce and p rofit increase. Abstract

This paper is aimed at relations among experts concerned with rural sociology in the Czech Republic. The research was focused on their troubles with cooperation and access to essential information for empirical and theoretical survey of the society in Czech rural space. The research is based on qualitative approach. Semistructured interviews with experts from scientific and academic sphere and documents study were used as the data collection. The goal of this research is to encourage the rural scientific community and to answer questions related to troubles in cooperation.

4. The Survival and Growth Rates of Woody Vegetation in the Man-Made Radějov Biocorridor During the Period of 1993 - 2012

Abstract

The first biocorridors were established in the territory of the Czech Republic in the 1990s. One of them, planted on a former agricultural land, was the Radějov biocorridor. This paper deals with the growth and development of trees and shrubs on three permanent research plots in 1993 - 2012. Repeated inventories of trees as well as monitoring of their biometrical parameters were carried out in both tree and shrub layers. The number of trees decreases with the increasing level of stand canopy. Moreover, mean heights, diameters and crown projection areas of selected woody plants were compared. Under the given conditions, the growth of these woody plants can be positively evaluated. Abstract: V devadesatých letech 20. stoleti byly v Ceske republice založeny prvni biokoridory. Jednim z nich byl i biokoridor Radějov. Na trvalých výzkumných plochach byly mezi lety 1993 a 2012 provaděny opakovane inventarizace a sledovany biometricke parametry dřevin, a to jak stromoveho, tak keřoveho patra. Přispěvek se zabýva vývojem dřevinne složky biokoridoru Radějov a na vybraných druzich ilustruje vývoj poctu jedinců, změny průměrne výsky, tlousťky a siřky korun. Za daných podminek můžeme hodnotit růst těchto dřevin pozitivně. Klicova slova: biokoridor, inventarizace, růst dřevin, přirůst, uzemni system ekologicke stability, Radějov, Ceska republika.
