Indian Journal of Natural Products and Resources (IJNPR) is a publication of the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR). This study makes a bibliometric assessment of the papers published in the journal from 2010 to 2020. The data was collected from the website of the journal and was analysed using MS Excel. The bibliometric assessment examines the nature and distribution of documents by their types, the geographical distribution of the papers by countries, Indian states, institutions, and authors and the impact of their productivity as reflected by the citation indicators. In addition, the trend in authorship, citations and national and international collaboration was also examined. A total of 587 documents were published during the study period, of which the majority were original research articles. Analysis revealed that during the study period, contributions from 35 countries including India were published in the journal. Maximum contributions from India were from the state of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The study also found that only a small number of papers didn’t receive any citations but a substantial number of papers (17.7%) received 6-10 citations and about 1.7% of papers received 100 or more citations. The review article presents an analysis of the literature on environmental literacy in sustainable development. By utilizing techniques to examine multiple documents published between 2013 and 2023, including citation analysis, co-authorship analysis, subject area analysis, and keyword analysis, this study aims to provide valuable information and insights into the research landscape surrounding environmental literacy and its contribution to promoting sustainable development. A systematic search was conducted to gather several scientific articles, conference papers, and publications from the Scopus database from 2013 to 2023. The findings of this analysis shed light on authors, influential institutions, and active research groups that contributed to the study of environmental literacy and sustainable development. This comprehensive review offers an understanding of the state of research in this field while identifying areas for further exploration and research gaps. The insights gained from this study can be highly beneficial for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to advance knowledge and take action toward promoting literacy's role in sustainable development. This analysis is a foundation for advancing our understanding of literacy's significance while emphasizing its vital role in sustainable development efforts.

Since social media is increasingly pervasive in modern society, this bibliometric study aims to investigate its educational applications. Using the Scopus database, the bibliometric method analyses publications published between 2010 and 2022. The research indicates that student participation and ease of access are the two main benefits of using social media in the classroom. However, it also spreads misinformation and poses privacy and security risks. Articles that discussed how social media could be used in the classroom were found and organised using a bibliometric analysis based on their subject matter, year of publication, and authors. The research shows that between 2001 and 2020, there was a rise in the number of papers discussing the use of social media in the classroom. In addition, the top five countries in terms of annual publication output include the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia/India, and Canada. To further explore the connections between relevant articles, a co-citation network analysis was performed. Therefore, there must be strict rules and policies for using social media in education to address privacy and security concerns and the spread of false information.

This paper analyzes 5046 research publications in physical science that Haryana had published during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana registered 14.28% growth per year and citation impact of 6.0 citations per paper. Haryana's research output in physical science accounted for 19.42% state share and 1.72% country share in S&T during 2005-14. Nearly 13.5% of Haryana's output appeared as International collaborative papers. Chemistry and physics & astronomy accounted for the largest share (37.38% and 33% respectively). The top 20 most productive organizations of Haryana accounted for 83.25% and 86.12% publication and citation share, registered average productivity of 210.5 papers per organization, averaged 6.20 citations per paper, h-index of 13.85, and averaged 10.95% share as international collaborative papers of during 2005-14. The top 20 most productive authors from Haryana-based organizations accounted for 22.39% publications share, 31.75% citations share, registered average productivity of 56.5 papers per author, averaged 8.50 citations per paper, h-index of 11.85%, and 8.67% share as international collaborative papers during 2005-14. Nearly 18% of Haryana's papers in physical science were reported in top 20 journals during 2005-14. Haryana contributed 18 highly cited papers with 100 + citations per paper. Together these 18 papers cumulated 3129 citations, with an average of 173.83 citations per paper during 2005-14. This paper analyzes 8090 research publications in the area of life sciences in Haryana published during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana averaged 12.20% annual growth in life science research, citation impact of 5.64 citations per paper during 2005-14. Haryana published 24.08% of its research output in life science as national collaborative papers and 12.48% as international collaborative papers during 2005-14. Among its various subfields, agricultural & biological sciences dominated life science research accounting for the share (51.61%). The top 20 most productive organizations based out in Haryana accounted for 84.36% share, registered average productivity of 341.25, averaged 6.01 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 12.5 during 2005-14. The top 20 most productive authors with affiliations to Haryana accounted for 13.91% share, registered average productivity of 56.25 papers per author, and averaged 8.88 citations per paper, and averaged h-index of 13.91 during 2005-14. The top 25 journals accounted for 32.44% share of total output (8090) by the state. Thirty 30 highly cited papers received 100 + citations and together cumulated 4890 citations, with an average citation per paper of 163.0 during 2005-14. This paper analyzes 5677 research publications that Haryana had contributed in the area of engineering science during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana achieved significantly faster growth rate in engineering science (22.59% CAGR) but witnessed low level citation impact of 4.40 citations per paper, contributed merely 20 highly cited papers, and accounted for very low share (9.79%) of international collaborative papers in its total output during 2005-14. Engineering field with 52.37% share dominated Haryana's publications output in engineering science whereas the other sub-fields (materials science, computer science, chemical engineering and energy) were distant cousins in engineering science. The top 20 most productive organizations output in Haryana had average productivity of 205.1, averaged 4.91 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 12.5, and averaged 8.68% share of international collaborative publications. The top 20 most productive authors with affiliations to Haryana had average productivity of 49.9, averaged 6.68 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 6.61, and averaged 6.51% share of international collaborative publications during 2005-14. The research papers contributed by Haryana are scattered thinly across journals given the fact that top 25 journals had accounted for as low share of 16.29%.of total output (5677) by the state. The characteristics of highly cited papers from India in Web of Science from 1989-2015 are analyzed. The papers that have been cited at least 100 times till the 31st December 2015 are examined. Scientometric analysis of paper that have been cited at least 2000 times, their citation counts in 2015 and average citations per year and subject category are computed. Major contributing institutions, total papers and citation counts per paper are identified. The major collaborating countries, their total papers and their citation counts were also investigated. This paper attempts to study the research performance of University of Hyderabad in terms of its research output between 1999 and 2008 including the number of papers published annually, its growth rate, publication share, quality, and citation impact of publications. The publication productivity and impact of the university under broad subject areas and departments were also examined and analyzed based on the hindex and p-index. The study also identifies and evaluates the characteristics of prolific authors and their research communication in productive journals. Purpose: Free and open-source software (FOSS) has been used worldwide because of the advantages of user control, cost-saving, flexibility, openness, freedom, more security and better stability. The purpose of this study is to explore the status quo of educational application of FOSS and the trends from international perspectives and its implications for higher education in Hong Kong. Design/methodology/approach: The method of cluster analysis was used in this study. The Web of Science database was used as the data source and all relevant literature for the year 2010-2020 on the theme of "FOSS" was collected for analysis. The information visualization software CiteSpace was used for citation visualization analysis, revealing the research results of FOSS worldwide, including hot spots and development trends. Findings: This paper found that FOSS has become an important research area and is playing an important role in the reform and development of education. Meanwhile, the development and application of FOSS have regional imbalances and strong differentiation, including the educational sector. The paper also found that although FOSS has entered the stage of interdisciplinary development, the research and development of FOSS in the field of education is insufficient, which poses a huge challenge to decision-makers, teachers and students. Originality/value: Implications for higher education in Hong Kong including: attach importance to and vigorously promote FOSS research and practice to benefit more teachers and students; teachers and students need to be trained for acquiring the awareness and skills of FOSS applications and formulate different strategies; the government should provide greater support to formulate and implement a short and middle-term development plan to facilitate the application of FOSS; and Hong Kong higher education institutions may strengthen exchanges and cooperation with counterparts around the world to jointly promote the development of FOSS. It is hoped that the findings will provide a reference for the study and application of FOSS in higher education in Hong Kong.

This article maps the scientific production and the contents associated with the sustainable development goals and their integration with universities during the past 21 years. Although many of the topics related to sustainable development goals (SDGs) have been addressed in different studies for decades, it is since 2015 onwards that they gained greater prominence due to the inclusion of higher education as an important actor in the fulfillment of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations SDGs. For the purpose of this paper, a bibliometric analysis of 871 papers, 535 documents in Scopus, and 336 in Web of Science (WoS) from 1998 to 2019 was performed, and the Bibliometrix analysis tool was used. The objective of this mapping is to answer the following research question: Is the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals and Universities a field of study? An analysis of the network of collaborators and trend topics in Scopus and WoS allows us to identify the concurrence and relationships of some keywords, such as sustainable development, sustainability and planning, and some background words, such as humans and global health. In another analysis, the word "higher education" is related to change. This article suggests that the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in Universities is becoming a field of study under exploration, with a peak of production in 2016 and that has remained stable in the last three years, but thanks to the leading role assigned to Universities, intellectual production should increase in the following years.

The aim of this study was to determine the examination of the researches about the use of technology by fine arts teachers. The study was conducted according to the content and citation analysis model. In this context, Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection indexes were included. In the document scanning in the WOS environment, the keywords 'Fine arts', 'Teachers' and 'Technology' were searched. In total, 169 documents were examined and analysed one by one. They were analysed according to year, document type, WOS content category, country, source title, organisation and citation, authors, publication language and categories. As a result of this research, the first study was conducted in 2004, while the most studies were conducted in 2016. It was concluded that the published studies had the most Proceedings papers as the document type. The area where the studies of fine arts teachers on the use of technology are mostly carried out is Education Educational Research, according to the Web of Science content category. The most researched title in the distribution according to the Source Title field is 'International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conferences on Social Sciences and Arts.' The university with the most studies is Kazan Federal University. The 19 authors who conducted the studies have a large number of studies in this field. It was concluded that other authors had only one study in the field. Again, when we look at the distribution of the countries and documents according to the language of writing, the country with the most studies is China and the language of the documents is English. The area continues to evolve.

Purpose – The main purpose of this study is to determine India's position in publishing top research papers in chemistry as reflected in Science Direct. It also aims to find out authorship pattern, countries with major contributions, journals with high publication rates, etc. Design/methodology/approach – Citation analysis methods were applied to study citations of 450 research papers in chemistry taken from the listing of top 25 papers in Science Direct database. The citations covered 18 issues of the Science Direct generated alert service for the period 2004-2008. The bibliographic data were entered in Excel sheets for necessary analysis. Findings – The studies revealed that, out of 450 research papers, 36 (8 per cent) are contributed by Indian researchers. In the ranking of contributing countries, India reserves third position after the USA and China. More than 86 per cent of Indian chemistry research papers were cited by others. As regards to number of citations, 25 per cent of Indian papers are cited between 10 and 25 times each. The journal Tetrahedron was found as the highest publishing journal with 71 (16 per cent) publications. Research limitations/implications – The paper presents a sense of the importance of Indian chemistry research, and as such informs that community, as well as researchers involved in citation analysis. Originality/value – The outcome of the study is an original research work with citation analysis of top research papers in chemistry. This study presents bibliometric analysis of the research papers of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy. He is one of the scientists who popularized science in India and truly known as the 'Father of Indian Chemistry'. During the period of 1888 to 1936, in a span of 49 years, he contributed 158 research papers in several reputed national and international journals. The analysis of his contributions includes year and periodical distribution of items, their language distribution, and single and multiple authorship. Year-wise distribution of pages authored by Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy has also been presented as well as his journal preference based on periodical distribution of articles. Objective: This study analyses the research output in India in neurosciences during the period 1999-2008 and the analyses included research growth, rank, global publications' share, citation impact, share of international collaborative papers and major collaborative partner countries and patterns of research communication in most productive journals. It also analyses the characteristics of most productive institutions, authors and high-cited papers. The publication output and impact of India is also compared with China, Brazil and South Korea. Materials and Methods: Scopus Citation database was used for retrieving the publications' output of India and other countries in neurosciences during 1999-2008. Results: India's global publications' share in neurosciences during the study period was 0.99% (with 4503 papers) and it ranked 21st among the top 26 countries in neurosciences. The average annual publication growth rate was 11.37%, shared 17.34% of international collaborative papers and the average citation per paper was 4.21. India was far behind China, Brazil and South Korea in terms of publication output, citation quality and share of international collaborative papers in neurosciences. Conclusion: India is far behind in terms of publication output, citation quality and share of international collaborative papers in neurosciences when compared to other countries with an emerging economy. The current Web of Science-based paper provides a scientometrics analysis of research publications in Psychology in India from 1989 to 2020. The data analysis was done using bibliometric software, including VOS viewer, Biblioshiny (R Studio), and MS Excel. The publications and citation structures are analyzed first, followed by the most cited papers and most favored journals. Further, top authors and institutions are analyzed as significant research areas. The results show that Andrade C from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences, Bangalore is the most productive author. At the same time, Patel V from Sangath, Goa, is the most influential author. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is most productive among the institutions, while the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, is the most influential. The results indicate that the International Journal of Psychology is a key journal in publishing India's scientific production in Psychology. The results also show that culture, HIV, depression, anxiety, attention, cross-culture, gender, and mental health are significant research topics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: The term oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMD) was recommended at the WHO workshop held in 2005 and published in 2007, and increasingly large number of papers related to OPMD are published. The objective of the bibliometric analysis was to investigate the citation characteristics and analyze research trends of OPMD. Methods: A comprehensive search was performed and identified in the Scopus database since 2007 for the bibliometric list of OPMD in the syntax. Results: A total of 795 papers on OPMD were retrieved and the total number of citations was 8870. The mean number of citations is 11.2, with a range of 0 to 580. A substantial increasing tread in the number of citation is observed since 2007. Leukoplakia (42%) and lichen planus (23%) were the two most individual disorders among the general OPMD. A controlled/comparative study (43%) and a retrospective study (16%) were the two most study designs. India (n = 267) and the UK (n = 99) were the two most contributing countries. Tobacco and alcohol use and betel quid chewing (n = 351) are the most common keywords. Notably, early detection and diagnosis of oral cancer (n = 255) and biomarkers of oral carcinogenesis (n = 178) top the list, which may indicate a trend of key topics. Conclusions: The current study for the first time reported the bibliometric characteristics and research trends of the papers on OPMD in the syntax. The paper examines 518 Indian publications on gallstones research, as covered in Scopus database during 2006-15, using various quantitative and qualitative parameters with a focus on its growth, citation quality, share of international collaborative papers, subject-wise distribution, identification of significant keywords, contribution and impact of leading organizations and authors, contribution of most productive journals and characteristics of high cited papers. The global gallstones research is dominated by top 10 most productive countries which account for 67.89% share of the global output during 2006-15. The USA is the world leader with its largest share of output (20.69% and 14.93%) in gallstones research, followed by U.K., China, India, Japan, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Turkey and Taiwan during 2006-15. India is ranked 4th top world country with its global publications share of 6.36%. India averaged citation impact of 6.28 citations per paper, international collaborative publications share of 7.14% during 2006-15. Medicine contributed the largest publication share (89%), followed by biochemistry, genetics & molecular biology (19.11%), pharmacology, toxicology & pharmaceutics (6.37%) and agricultural & biological sciences (2.32%) during 2006-15. The top 15 most productive organizations and authors contributed 51.90% and 45.56% share to India's publication output and 62.14% and 82.51% share to India's citation output during 2006-15. The top 15 most productive journals contributed 32.66% share to its total Indian journal output during 2006-15. The top 15 high cited papers received 34 to 102 citations per paper and registered 48.27 average citations per paper. These 15 high cited papers involve 86 authors and 44 organizations and published in 15 journals. The study analyses the Indian research output consisting of 1014 papers on Hepatitis C during 2005-2014 on different parameters including its publication growth, citation impact, share of international collaborative papers and identification of major international collaborative partners, global rank and share of India amongst the top 20 most productive countries, productivity and citation impact of leading Indian institutes and authors, medium of communication in most productive journals. The Scopus bibliographical citation database has been used to download and retrieve the publication data on Hepatitis C for 10 years (2005-2014). The Indian research output on Hepatitis C witnessed an average annual growth rate of 30.18%, the average citation per paper of 7.71 (33.33%) of international collaborative publications and accounted for 1.86% share of global output during 2005-14. Medicine accounted for the largest publication share (61.0%) on Indian output on Hepatitis C during 2005-14, followed by biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology (16.10%), immunology & microbiology (9.37%), pharmacology, toxicology & pharmaceutics (9.15%), agricultural & biological sciences (2.57%) and chemistry (1.81%). The top 15 most productive organizations and authors together contributed 45.46% and 28.50% of the publication share and 28.50% and 53.75% citation share to the Indian publications output on Hepatitis C during the period. The authors suggest the need for evolving national plans for promoting awareness for the prevention of disease in hospitals and to prevent it from its turning into an epidemic. The paper presents the analysis of bibliographic data of 72,940 research papers published by six Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur and IIT Roorkee) and indexed in Scopus database during the period 2006-2015. The analysis indicates that the relative citation impact of IIT Roorkee and IIT Bombay are more than other IITs. Works by authors from IIT Kharagpur are cited more than that of other IITs. Physics of Plasma, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Journal of Applied Physics, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, and RSC Advances are the journals most used by the researchers of the six IITs. Context: The highest cited papers published in a journal provide a snapshot of the clinical practice and research in that specialty and/or region.Aims: The aim of this study was to determine the highest cited papers published in Neurology India and analyze their attributes.Setting and Design: This study was a citation analysis of all papers published in Neurology India since online archiving commenced in 1993.Methods: All papers published in Neurology India between the years 1993-2014 were listed. The number of times each paper had been cited up till the time of performing this study was determined by performing a Google Scholar search. Published papers were then ranked on the basis of total times cited since publication and the annual citation rate. Statistical Techniques: Simple counts and percentages were used to report most results. The mean citations received by papers in various categories were compared using the Student's t-test or a one-way analysis of variance, as appropriate. All analyses were carried out on SAS University Edition (SAS/STAT®, SAS Institute Inc, NC, USA) and graphs were generated on MS Excel 2016.Results: The top papers on the total citations and annual citation rate rank lists pertained to basic neuroscience research. The highest cited paper overall had received 139 citations. About a quarter of the papers published had never been cited at all. The major themes represented were vascular diseases and infections.Conclusions: The highest cited papers reflect the diseases that are of major concern in India. The International Journal of Tropical Insect Science (Int J Trop Insect Sci) is a peer-reviewed journal established in 1980 to promote insect science mainly in the tropics. This study aimed to provide a Bibliometric overview of Int J Trop Insect Sci publications and citations between 2012 and 2020, ending September 2020. A sample of 488 documents extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) was analysed using widely used bioclimatic indicators. The articles were written by 1726 authors. During this period, the most productive authors comprised S Roy, followed by S Ekesi, S Subramanian and M Tamo. The dominant keyword was 'resistance', followed by 'Homoptera'. India took a leading position in Single Country Publications (SCP) while Kenya took the lead in Multiple Country Publications (MCP). Bibliometric analysis reveals vibrant collaboration between African and Western countries and active publication of multi-country authored articles. We conclude that there is an increasing trend for collaboration among different countries on the general topic of insect science. Research in insect science has the potential to impact both academic researchers and practitioners the knowledge use chain. This study will help researchers, journal editors, science policy makers managers, and others working in the biodiversity space and potential research gaps needing for further studies. The paper analysis 100 Indian high productivity organizations involved in mathematics research, using publications data indexed in Scopus database from 2005-14. It identified the overall strength and weakness of these 100 organizations, in terms of selective qualitative and quantitative indicators. The study concludes that institutes of national importance model of funding for research have shown comparatively better performance both in terms of qualitative and quantitative parameters. The present study examines 1383 Indian publications on "Hernia" as covered in Scopus database during 2006-15, experiencing an annual average growth rate of 6.75% and citation impact per paper of 3.12. The global publications on "Hernia" came from more than 100 countries, of which the top 10 accounted for 67.57% share of the global publication output. 214 organizations and 329 authors participated in Indian research on "Hernia" during 2006-15, of which the top 20 organizations and 20 authors contributed 38.97% and 19.45% publications share and 3.57% and 55.43%citation share respectively of the Indian output and citations. Medicine among subjects, contributed the largest publications share of 93.56%, followed biochemistry, genetics & molecular biology (7.66%), neurosciences (4.92%), pharmacology, toxicology & pharmaceutics (4.63%) and veterinary science (3.330%) during 2006-15. Of the total global publications, 1378 appeared in 233 journals, of which the top 15 journals contributed 38.03% of the journal output. Since the first fully homomorphic encryption scheme was published in 2009, many papers have been published on fully homomorphic encryption and its applications. Machine learning is one of the most interesting applications and has drawn a lot of attention from researchers. To better represent and understand the field of Homomorphic Encryption in Machine Learning (HEML), this paper utilizes automated citation and topic analysis to characterize the HEML research literature over the years and provide the bibliometrics assessments for this burgeoning field. This is conducted by using a bibliometric statistical analysis approach. We make use of web-based literature databases and automated tools to present the development of HEML. This allows us to target several popular topics for in-depth discussion. To achieve these goals, we have chosen the well-established Scopus literature database and analyzed them through keyword counts and Scopus relevance searches. The results show a relative increase in the number of papers published each year that involve both homomorphic cryptography and machine learning. Using text mining of articles titles, we have found that cloud computing is a popular topic in this field, which also includes neural networks, big data, and the Internet of Things. The analysis results show that China, the US, and India have generated almost half of all the research contributions in HEML. The citation statistics, keyword statistics, and topic analyses give us a quick overview of the development of the field, which can be of great help to new researchers. This paper analyses the articles published from 2004 - 2017 by Mother Theresa Women's University Kodaikanal, Tamilnadu. The data were retrieved from India Citation Index during the period. The study 122 publications were published by the university and the highest numbers of research papers 115 were published in the form of articles. The present study is an attempt to carry out the citation analysis of all the journal articles published in the Annals of Library and Information Science from 2010-2019. A total of 7,124 citations appended to 328 papers were published in the journal during the ten-year study period. Average number of citations per article is maximum in 2018. Out of 7,124 citations appended, 1,039 (14.58%) citations appeared in 2010, followed by 873 (12.28%) citations in 2018, and 831 (11.66%) citations in 2013. The findings reveal that a majority of the papers have 16-20 citations (25%), followed by 11-15 (14.93%) citations, and 6-10 (14.02%) citations. The study also depicts that out of the total, 5,081 (71.29%) Web references were used in the article references. The Annals of Library and Information Science is the most preferred journal used by authors during the study period, being cited 476 times. The authorship pattern reveals that two-author citations are in the majority (46.45%). Objectives: Bibliometric analysis is one of the most widely used tools to quantify the research prolificacy in a specific area of knowledge. This paper aims to provide a list of the top 100 cited articles published between 2010 and 2021 on dental fluorosis to offer an up-to-date quantitative-qualitative analysis of publications. Methods: The Scopus database was reviewed with the term "dental fluorosis" in the title, abstract, and keywords to retrieve lists of the 100 most-cited articles on 16 December 2021. The number of citations, authors, publication year, country, and institution of origin were evaluated. A graphical illustration of keywords, co-authors, and countries was created using VOSviewer. Results: The number of citations of the 100 articles varied from 654 to 42. All the studies were published in English and 62% were published in journals in the first quartile. The articles were published in 62 different journals, with the most popular publication being the Journal of the American Dentistry and Science of The Total Environment (n=5). The papers originated from 40 countries, with India (n=26) accounting for the largest number. The most prolific authors were A. M. Glenny and H.V. Worthington (n=5), and the institution was Manchester University (n=8). The majority of articles were on Environmental Science (n=39), followed by Dentistry and Medicine (n=26). Conclusions: The present citation analysis provides insights into the current publications in dental fluorosis and will help researchers interested in this topic by saving considerable effort and time in finding appropriate article referrals. 2008 can be considered a watershed year for generic medicine in India, as it saw the launch of the Jan Aushadi scheme, to provide cost-effective quality medicines to its populace, through special stores called Jan Aushadi stores. With more than 8800 stores, the scheme is touted as one of the world's largest pharmaceutical retail chains. Since then, many generic medicine start-ups have also launched operations in the country- Zeno Health, One India Pharmacy, Generic Aadhaar and StayHappi Generics. These supply side developments will however have to be complemented with commensurate demand side responses for it make a sustainable impact towards the push for affordable and accessible healthcare for all (Sustainable Development Goal 3). Many studies have established that, on the demand side, owing to the lack of requisite medical knowledge on part of the patients, there exists a strong agency relationship, where patients rely heavily on their physicians (prescribers) to make decisions on choice of treatments. Though promotion of generic medicines requires a coordinated effort from many stakeholders, analysis reveals that the prescribers, and hence their perception of generics, plays a pivotal role in their adoption. This study undertakes a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most-cited research papers published between 2012 and 2022 on the perception of prescribers towards generic medicine from SCOPUS database. Suitable keywords have been incorporated to reach the relevant publications and VOSviewer (version 1.6.10) has been used for analysis. The paper discusses a comparative study of h and g indices of prominent scientists from India in five selected subject fields viz. Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering and Medicine. Pectoral nerve blocks (Pecs I and Pecs II) are superficial thoracic wall blocks which block the pectoral and intercostal nerves. They can be used as analgesia/anesthesia for breast surgery and other procedures/surgeries involving the anterior chest wall (arteriovenous graft creation surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and thoracotomy, etc.). The aim of this study is to evaluate publications in the scientific field of pectoral nerve blocks. ISI Web of Knowledge-Science was used for the analysis. All scientific works published included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) from 1975 to January 27, 2019, were analyzed. A retrospective search was performed using key words "pectoral nerve block," "PECS I," "PECS II," "pecs block," "PECS block,""Pecs I," "Pecs II," "PECS 1," "PECS 2," and "modified pecs I block." We further analyzed these results by the "analyze" function of the software in terms of number of papers for each country, type of documentation, number of publications per year, and name of journals and authors. The number of citations to published works was also calculated by using the citation function of the same software. 72 papers were found related to pectoral nerve block. The biggest contribution was from India (24.28%), and followed by Japan (14.28%), USA (14.28%), Canada (7.14%), Egypt (7.14%), Italy (5.71%), and South Korea (5.71%). The total number of publications increased sharply in years from 2014 (n = 1) to 2018 (n = 28). We have detected that papers on the use of pecs block in breast cancer surgery, which is one of the most common surgical procedure in the world, are few in the literature. With this study, we hope to increase the awareness on this area. Background: Extensive studies related to curcumin were carried out over the preceding several decades. Citation frequencies represent the most prominent contributions in a specific field. This research aimed to identify and analyze the 100 most-cited articles on curcumin and to highlight the most important advances in this field. Methods: Highly cited articles were identified in the Web of Science core collection database. "curcumin*" was used as the search string to retrieve in the "Title" field. VOSviewer was applied to perform bibliometric analysis of these papers. Results: Totally 17,645 publications on the topic of curcumin were identified. The top most-cited 100 articles were published between 1973 and 2017. Most of these papers were original (n = 62). The total citation frequency in the top 100 article ranged from 355 to 3364, with a median of 560. The United States and India were the major countries researching curcumin. The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center was the institution with the highest contribution rate of these articles. The most frequently nominated authors were Aggarwal B. B., Kunnumakkara A. B., Prasad S., and Priyadarsini K. I. The top 100 articles were published in 68 journals. The top four journals in terms of the number of our included articles were Cancer Research (n = 7), followed by Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biochemical Pharmacology, and Cancer Letters, with 4 articles each. NF-kappa B, cancer, gene expression, apoptosis, inflammation, chemopreventive agent, and nitric oxide synthase are presumed to be the current hot topics. Research productivity of any university is a reflection of its status quo in terms of its position in Higher Education Institution (HEI) ranking framework. This Scientometric study is an attempt to highlight the key features of research productivity of Science Faculty of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University based on the data collected from Web of Science database over a period of 30 years from 1990 to 2019.This article studied the publication trend by analysis of the 2229 research records. The major objectives of this study were to evaluate the research output in terms of number and type of publications, prolific and productive author, most preferred publication, citation analysis and so on. The complete research output is 2229 with an Annual Growth Rate (AGR) of 6.23 % with 11.4 % of average citations per paper. The period from year 2004 to 2019 was highly productive block with year 2015 contributing highest 7.31 % of the total number of publications during the study period. We analyzed scientific production of the solar physics research community over the past two decades in India. Scientometric techniques, especially the literature growth models, coauthorship, co-occurrence of keywords, citation, co-citation and bibliographic coupling are used for analysis by using the R program and VOS Viewer. Highly cited papers, prolific authors and journals are identified. The results of this study confess that the scientific literature on Solar Physics in India had grown exponentially with an annual growth rate of about 8.90% during the above mentioned period. Astrophysical Journal and Solar Physics were the most productive journals contributing 34.92% of the total publications. Sun: corona, Sun: magnetic fields and Sun: activity are the most frequently used keywords. United States and Germany are the most frequent international collaborating nations. About 91% of the published papers are multi-authored and only 9% of them are single authored. China was the most productive country with 425 papers in the journal, followed by India (243 papers). The Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most productive institute in the journal and published 67 papers with 678 citations. A total of 4870 authors have appeared in 1209 papers with 0.91 degree of collaboration and a collaboration index of 4.03. The present study is to identify the authorship patterns and the degree of collaboration in dental sciences research in India during 1997-2016. For this study, the required data have been collected from Web of Science database. Scientometric tools such as degree of collaboration, collaboration index have been used. Further, authors' productivity and impact has been analyzed. The study reveals that, total 3098 papers published by 12737 authors, the average number of authors per article is 4.12. The study aims to present a comparative scientometric analysis of the research trend of marine engineering in India and China from 2010 to 2019. In this study, 2909 publications of China and 585 publications of India were collected and analyzed. This scientometric study covers year-wise publication, preference of documents type, authorship pattern, author h-index, citation analysis, keyword analysis, and collaboration of both countries. The data has been extracted from the SCOPUS database for both countries China and India separately with limitations up to ten years. Document type of article is very popular in both countries and authors prefer to get published in journals. It is concluded that India needs more improvements in research output steadily to compete China. China and India can cooperate with each other to exploit the large marine resources for mutual benefits. Marine environment is more popular research area of marine engineering in both countries is a positive indication and may be effective in control of marine pollution. The annual growth of research publications is reported 14.24% for China and 17.69% for India. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a disease caused by compression of the median nerve passing through the wrist. Patients suffer from severe pain and paresthesis in the median nerve. Compression of the median nerve occurs, with prolonged working on keyboards (computer or laptop or music players) being one of the reasons along with others such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis. CTS research holds great promise for the patients as well as doctors for better medical treatment. The study has been carried out with an objective to analyze research progress based on the literature published on CTS during the last 35 years. The retrospective study has been carried out from the data indexed in SCOPUS multidisciplinary database from 1983 to 2017 (35 years). The study involves analysis of publication trends in terms of total articles, productive countries, institutions, journals, productive authors, most cited articles along with impact in terms of citation and h-Index. The SCOPUS database yielded 13187 articles during the study period. These articles were analyzed further for interpreting results. Social lockdowns improved air quality during the COVID-19 pandemic. Governments had previously spent a lot of money addressing air pollution without success. This bibliometric study measured the influence of COVID-19 social lockdowns on air pollution, identified emerging issues, and discussed future perspectives. The researchers examined the contributions of countries, authors, and most productive journals to COVID-19 and air pollution research from January 1, 2020, to September 12, 2022, from the Web of Sciences Core Collection (WoS). The results showed that (a) publications on the COVID-19 pandemic and air pollution were 504 (research articles) with 7495 citations, (b) China ranked first in the number of publications (n = 151; 29.96% of the global output) and was the main country in international cooperation network, followed by India (n = 101; 20.04% of the total articles) and the USA (n = 41; 8.13% of the global output). Air pollution plagues China, India, and the USA, calling for many studies. After a high spike in 2020, research published in 2021 declined in 2022. The author's keywords have focused on "COVID-19," "air pollution," "lockdown," and "PM25." These keywords suggest that research in this area is focused on understanding the health impacts of air pollution, developing policies to address air pollution, and improving air quality monitoring. The COVID-19 social lockdown served as a specified procedure to reduce air pollution in these countries. However, this paper provides practical recommendations for future research and a model for environmental and health scientists to examine the likely impact of COVID-19 social lockdowns on urban air pollution. The Investor Sentiment Index (ISI) is widely regarded as a useful measure to gauge the overall mood of the market. Investor panic may result in contagion, causing failure in financial markets. Market participants widely use the ISI indicator to understand price fluctuations and related opportunities. As a result, it is imperative to systematically review the compiled literature on the subject. In addition to reviewing past studies on the ISI, this paper attempts a bibliometric analysis (BA) to understand any related publications. We systematically review over 100 articles and carry out a BA on a set of information based on the publication year, the journal, the countries/territories, the deployed statistical tools and techniques, a citation analysis, and a content analysis. This analysis further strengthens the study by establishing interesting findings. Most articles use the Baker and Wurgler index and text-based sentiment analysis. However, an Internet-search-based ISI was also used in a few of the studies. The results reveal the lack of direct measures or a robust qualitative approach in constructing the ISI. The findings further indicate a vast research gap in emerging economies, such as India's. This study had no limit on the period for inclusion and exclusion. We believe that our current work is a seminal study, jointly involving a systematic literature review and BA, that will enormously facilitate academicians and practitioners working on the ISI. The present study is based on 9,162 citations, appended in the 77 doctoral theses of Sociology submitted to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and Osmania University, Hyderabad for the award of doctoral degree during the period 1974- 2005. It has been carried-out from 1974 to observe the distribution of authorship pattern, bibliographic form, core journals, country, language, subject wise distribution of journal citations and core periodicals. The single authored papers were highest contribution in book citations 76.77% of total citations, and multi authored papers were highest contribution 55.57% of the total journal citations. The sociology researchers in both the Universities referred mostly book source rather than other sources. The paper aims to analyze the quality characteristics of Open Access Journals (OAJs) in Library and Information Science (LIS) published in India. The study assesses three OA journals, namely. International Journal of Information Dissemination and Technology (IJIDT), International Journal of Library and Information Studies (IJLIS), and International Research: Journal of Library and Information Science (IRJLIS). The analysis is performed in two parts. The first part is qualitative. The researchers measured parameters like basic information pertaining to the selected journals, publication trends, composition of the editorial board, and quality measures such as peer review and indexing. The second part of the analysis deals with citing journal sources, where the researchers evaluates the quality of citations received by the selected journals. The finding of the study reveals that all three OAJs established themselves as preferred sources to publish LIS research articles. The analysis of citing sources reveals that 73% of the citing journals are OAJs only. The results also show that only 50% of journals are from the core LIS subject, and the majority of the citing journals are from India. Objective: The high-cited publications (HCPs) (with 50 or more citations) on orthopedic research from India were analyzed on various parameters. Methodology: The HCPs that were published between 2002 and 2021, on the Indian orthopedic research and indexed in the Scopus database were evaluated on various parameters. A network analysis was used to evaluate and visualize the collaborative interaction among the most productive organizations, authors, and keywords using VOSviewer and Biblioshyn software. Results: Of the total 4606 publications, 179 (3.88%) were HCPs, that were cited 22767 times (averaging 127.19 citations per publication). An external funding was received in 24.58% of publications and 36.87% of publications had an international collaboration. The most productive organizations were the Indian Institute of Science - Bengaluru (n = 11), All India Institute of Medical Sciences - New Delhi, and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences - Kochi (n = 8 each) and the most impactful organizations in terms of citations per paper and relative citation index were Vellore Institute of Technology - Vellore, TIET - Patiala, and Lovely Professional University. The most productive authors were K. Chatterjee, D. Lahiri, and R. Vaishya. The most impactful authors were P. Mukherjee, S. Rajasekaran, and J. N. Babu in terms of citations per paper and relative citation index. Delhi was the epicenter of research and publications (n = 27). Material science and medicine contributed the largest number of publications (n = 77 and n = 73), followed by Engineering (n = 51). Treatment and clinical studies accounted maximally (24.58% and 8.38%) and hydroxyapatite (n = 40) was the most significant keyword appearing in the literature. Conclusion: This study provided an insight into understanding of research status including trends identified and studied the most influential contributions and performance of Indian organizations and authors and indicated broad and narrow subject fields contributing to this medical specialty. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyze Indian researchers’ publications on tuberculosis (TB) which were indexed in Web of Science (WoS) database during the from 2004 to 2013. It also emphases the performance of publication covering annual outputs, mainstream journals, leading Indian research institutions, h-index, etc. Design/methodology/approach – The present study is a bibliometric analysis of all Indian TB publications over the past 10 years, in the national/international journals of repute. Utilizing the WoS database, 5,073 documents of Indian researcher’s publications data on TB research were used for the study; various statistical techniques and bibliometric measures have been used for further analysis. Findings – The present study found out 5,073 documents published by the Indian researchers and indexed in WoS during the period from 2004 to 2013, with an average of 507-508 documents per year, and majority of them were research articles (79.85 per cent); Science Citation Index Extended alone consists 5,055 documents. International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and D. Sriram were the most favoured research journal, major contributing organization/institution and most prolific contributor, respectively. Research limitations/implications – The study exclusively examines 5,073 research outputs of Indian researchers on TB which have been indexed in Thomson Reuters WoS during 2004-2013. Thus, documents published in any other different channels and sources which have not indexed in WoS are excluded from the purview of research. Originality/value – It is the first attempt and unique study of its kind which apply bibliometric techniques to analyse TB research by Indian researchers with compared to affected Asian countries which are very badly affected by the disease. The purpose of this study is to examine the citation impact of open access (OA) and non-OA journals published in India in health and medical sciences journals and to explore whether OA journals received more citations than non-OA journals. An evaluative scientometric approach was used to analyze the citations of articles published in Indian health and medical science journals indexed in Scopus. Of the total 241 Indian health and medical science journals indexed in Scopus, 79 OA and 61 non-OA journals were selected for the study. Harzing's Publish or Perish software was used to extract the publication and citation data from Google Scholar for 2011–2016. Five alternate hypotheses were formulated to examine whether there is any difference between the impact of OA and non-OA journals. The results showed there is an obvious citation advantage for OA health and medical science journals compared with non-OA journals. However, The Mann-Whitney U Test analysis revealed no significant difference in the citations impacts of OA and non-OA journals, rejecting all the alternate hypotheses of the study. Since this study is the first to explore the citation impact of OA and non-OA journals in the subject of health and medical science published in India, it offers theoretical implication for examination of citation impact of OA and non-OA journals in other subjects. The paper makes citation analysis of PhD theses submitted in the discipline of library and information science, Panjab University, Chandigarh during 1976-2017. The study is based on the 10961 citations from 63 PhD theses of library and information science. The study conducted to analyse various parameters like type of documents cited, authorship pattern, geographical scattering of citations, chronological distribution of citations, subject distribution of citations and a ranked list of LIS journals.
