In nursery trial conducted at Citrus Research Institute, Sargodha, Pakistan during 2005-2006, various chemicals i.e. streptomycin sulphate, Bac-Off (copper based fungicide), copper oxychloride, and Score (dipheno conazole) were sprayed against Xanthomonas compestris pv. citri on sweet orange (cv. Blood Red). Although all chemicals exhibited non-significant differences, yet these reduced the disease considerably. Score remained at top reducing 67.29 percent disease incidence followed by streptomycin sulphate (62%) after 45 days with three sprays. Bac-Off offered minimum disease control (55.56%). Regarding reduction of lesions per leaf, copper oxychloride gave good results after 45 days with three sprays by exhibiting 70 percent control over disease lesions on leaves. It was followed by Score (66.70%), streptomycin sulphate (59.80%). Bac-Off, gave poor results after each spray. All other chemicals behaved differently by in each spray. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
