This research paper is a qualitative-based work on the ethnographic study of Ema keithel of Manipur. The study put forth the after-effect of the economic lockdown of Ema keithel due to COVID-19 and the present condition of women traders after the upliftment of the lockdown. The economic data was comparatively based on the pre-COVID-19 situation and the post-lockdown period. The women in Ema keithel are predominantly the sole bread earners and providers in their families; through their income, financial expenses are sustained. However, with the sudden lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many thousands of women and their families had lost their only hope and financial support system. Purpose: Given the pace of global environmental degradation, companies and individuals alike are exploring ways and means of protecting the environment. In this context, the attitudes of hoteliers and their employees toward sustainability are key to the successful implementation of these practices. This paper aims to consider the impact of attitude development and COVID-19 on the sustainability performance of hotels. The study also explores contributions made by hotels to environmental sustainability and society more generally. Design/methodology/approach: The study is based on interviews and survey questionnaires completed by employees of five-star hotels in India, and qualitative methods were used to process the data. Findings: The findings of this study confirm the devastating impact of COVID-19 on both economic and societal sustainability in what otherwise would be a profitable sector of the economy. Practical implications: The study has implications for hoteliers, the government, environmental agencies and for employees and could assist with the formulation of recovery packages by government and in the development of new standard operating procedures to enable hotels to step-up on the self-recovery path. Originality/value: The paper provides an analysis of the direct effects of the pandemic on financial sustainability and its mediating impact on the efforts of hotels to attain sustainable environment. The novel Corona Pandemic has put the world trade and economy in a great crisis. No country is free from the jaws of the deadly virus. It not only causing huge forfeiture of human life but also inducing economic disaster, with a halt in production, a crumble in consumption and a magnified unreliability in stock exchanges. The Covid-19 has severely disrupted the global supply chain system. All the sectors like aviation, tourism, retail, capital markets, oil and particularly Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the most affected with negative repercussion. In the global view, the small businesses are the most sufferers than the big ones as they are vulnerable with lesser resources to redesign to the new social change. The main purpose of this article is to study the present status of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of India and its sustainability amid this pandemic. It will notably discuss the impacts of Covid-19 on this sector and the initiatives taken to regenerate this sector. The study will be based on reviewing the available literatures considering research papers, reports and policy documents. Impacts of COVID-19 in maritime transportation and its related policy measures have been investigated by more and more organizations and researchers across the world. This paper aims to examine the impacts of COVID-19 on seaport transportation and the maritime supply chain field and its related issues in India. Secondary data are used to analyze the performance indicators of major seaports in India before and during the COVID-19 crisis. We further explore and discuss the expert's views about the impact, preparedness, response, and recovery aspects for the maritime-related sector in India. The results on the quantitative performance of Indian major seaports during the COVID-19 indicate a negative growth in the cargo traffic and a decrease in the number of vessel traffic compared to pre-COVID-19. The expert survey results suggest a lack of preparedness for COVID-19 and the need for developing future strategies by maritime organizations. The overall findings of the study shall assist in formulating maritime strategies by enhancing supply chain resilience and sustainable business recovery process while preparing for a post-COVID-19 crisis. The study also notes that the Covid-19 crisis is still an ongoing concern, as the government, maritime organizations, and stakeholders face towards providing vaccine and remedial treatment to infected people. Coronavirus outbreak has been highly disruptive for aviation sector, threatening the survival and sustainability of airlines. Apart from massive losses attributed to suspended operations, industry foresee a grim recession ahead. Restrictive movements, weak tourism, curtailed income, compressed commercial activities and fear psychosis are expected to compress the passenger demand from 30 to 60%, endangering the commercial viability of airlines operation. Fragile to withstand the cyclic momentary shocks of oil price fluctuation, demand flux, declining currency, airlines in India warrants for robust structural changes in their operating strategies, business model, revenue and pricing strategies to survive the long-lasting consequences of Covid-19. COVID-19 is the pandemic caused by one of the coronaviruses. This virus was not known before the outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. By January of 2020 it was declared to be a global human health crisis. The deaths and illnesses caused by the virus caused extensive fear and anxiety among people in all societies. The pandemic slowed economic activities nearly to a halt. The challenges of how companies should respond to the disruptions in their supply chains and how they can build more resilient systems, must be systematically addressed. The authors of this paper highlighted essential factors which can help companies to overcome this crisis and other types of crises, by learning from the approaches taken in India, which has a unique and diverse economic system. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique was used to identify the essential factors which can help companies to improve their resilience so they can recover during and after the COVID-19 pandemic era and potentially in other similar complex crises. The results of the AHP evaluation were prioritized by performing a sensitivity analysis to prioritise the essential factors. The "Role of governance" was found to be the most important factor that can be used to help in rebuilding industries and societies and in helping them to become more resilient to future severe shocks. The results of this research were used to develop recommendations for company managers, practitioners and policy-makers. The authors hope that this advice will help India to become a stronger nation with more resilient companies, which are better prepared to anticipate and to respond to future crises. We hope people in other nations will also benefit from the finding presented in this paper. The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly affected global tourism, and the Kashmir Valley in India, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and cultural richness, was no exception to the disruptions caused by the crisis. This abstract aims to present a sustainable approach to understanding the impact of tourism on the Kashmir Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study begins by examining the pre-pandemic tourism landscape in the region, highlighting the significance of the industry to the local economy and livelihoods. Subsequently, the adverse effects of the pandemic on tourism, including travel restrictions, lockdowns, and reduced visitor inflows, are analyzed. To address the challenges posed by the pandemic, a sustainable approach to tourism in the Kashmir Valley is proposed. This approach emphasizes the need to strike a delicate balance between revitalizing the tourism sector and preserving the region's natural and cultural heritage. Sustainable tourism practices, such as promoting community-based tourism initiatives, encouraging eco-friendly accommodations, and supporting local artisans, are crucial components of this proposed approach. Furthermore, the study explores the potential of digital technologies and online platforms to support the revival of tourism in the region by promoting virtual experiences and responsible travel practices. Additionally, collaborations between the government, local communities, and tourism stakeholders are advocated to ensure a coordinated and inclusive response to the crisis. The findings underscore the importance of adopting sustainable practices as the Kashmir Valley emerges from the pandemic's impact on its tourism sector. The study aims to examine the CO2 emissions by considering the implication of COVID-19 under strict lockdown in India. The nonlinear (asymmetric) relationship is investigated between CO2 emission and COVID-19 with its specific determinants. The positive and negative asymmetries of COVID-19 determinants are also captured by using econometric techniques. The daily data series of CO2 emission, new confirmed cases, confirmed deaths, and lockdown as dummy variables from January 30, 2020, to December 1, 2020, for India is analyzed by employing the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag model. This research revealed a significant nonlinear relationship between CO2 emission and COVID-19. The bound test and asymmetric coefficients are confirmed by the variables' long- and short-run relationships. The dynamic multiplier graphs present that India's strict lockdown due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 patients significantly reduces toxic gas emissions, especially CO2 emissions. This asymmetric relationship has been proficiently declared that unhealthy public routine, extra traffic, and unhygienic gases released in the air become the reason for environmental destruction. The lockdown is practically imposed for specific periods and reasons, contributing to reducing toxic emissions, but it is not a permanent solution for environmental sustainability. The government of India, policymakers, and environmentalists should make people aware of unhealthy and environmentally envying activities and policies and long-term applicable strategies should be designed to upgrade the environment's quality.
