The spatiotemporal arrangement of interacting populations often influences the maintenance of species diversity and is a subject of intense research. Here, we study the spatiotemporal patterns arising from the cyclic competition between three species in two dimensions. Inspired by recent experiments, we consider a generic metapopulation model comprising "rock-paper-scissors" interactions via dominance removal and replacement, reproduction, mutations, pair exchange, and hopping of individuals. By combining analytical and numerical methods, we obtain the model's phase diagram near its Hopf bifurcation and quantitatively characterize the properties of the spiraling patterns arising in each phase. The phases characterizing the cyclic competition away from the Hopf bifurcation (at low mutation rate) are also investigated. Our analytical approach relies on the careful analysis of the properties of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation derived through a controlled (perturbative) multiscale expansion around the model's Hopf bifurcation. Our results allow us to clarify when spatial "rock-paper-scissors" competition leads to stable spiral waves and under which circumstances they are influenced by nonlinear mobility. This work investigates a prey–predator model featuring a Holling-type II functional response, in which the fear effect of predation on the prey species, as well as prey refuge, are considered. Specifically, the model assumes that the growth rate of the prey population decreases as a result of the fear of predators. Moreover, the detection of the predator by the prey species is subject to a delay known as the fear response delay, which is incorporated into the model. The paper establishes the preliminary conditions for the solution of the delayed model, including positivity, boundedness and permanence. The paper discusses the existence and stability of equilibrium points in the model. In particular, the paper considers the discrete delay as a bifurcation parameter, demonstrating that the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation at a critical value of the delay parameter. The direction and stability of periodic solutions are determined using central manifold and normal form theory. Additionally, the global stability of the model is established at axial and positive equilibrium points. In this paper, the impact of the strong Allee effect and ratio-dependent Holling–Tanner functional response on the dynamical behaviors of a predator–prey system is investigated. First, the positivity and boundedness of solutions of the system are proved. Then, stability and bifurcation analysis on equilibria is provided, with explicit conditions obtained for Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, global dynamics of the system is discussed. In particular, the degenerate singular point at the origin is proved to be globally asymptotically stable under various conditions. Further, a detailed bifurcation analysis is presented to show that the system undergoes a codimension- 1 Hopf bifurcation and a codimension- 2 cusp Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. Simulations are given to illustrate the theoretical predictions. We analyze the replicator-mutator equations for the rock-paper-scissors game. Various graph-theoretic patterns of mutation are considered, ranging from a single unidirectional mutation pathway between two of the species, to global bidirectional mutation among all the species. Our main result is that the coexistence state, in which all three species exist in equilibrium, can be destabilized by arbitrarily small mutation rates. After it loses stability, the coexistence state gives birth to a stable limit cycle solution created in a supercritical Hopf bifurcation. In this paper we construct two limit cycles with a heteroclinic polycycle for the three-dimensional continuous model of the rock–scissors–paper (RSP) game between bacteriocin producing bacteria. In this paper, a new delayed fractional-order model including susceptible migratory birds, infected migratory birds and predators is proposed to discuss the spread of diseases among migratory birds. Fear of predators is considered in the model, as fear can reduce the reproduction rate and disease transmission rate among prey. First, some basic mathematical results of the proposed model are discussed. Then, time delay is regarded as a bifurcation parameter, and the delay-induced bifurcation conditions for such an uncontrolled system are established. A novel periodic pulse feedback controller is proposed to suppress the bifurcation phenomenon. It is found that the control scheme can successfully suppress the bifurcation behavior of the system, and the pulse width can be arbitrarily selected on the premise of ensuring the control effect. Compared with the traditional time-delay feedback controller, the control scheme proposed in this paper has more advantages in practical application, which not only embodies the advantages of low control cost and easy operation but also caters to the periodic changes of the environment. This paper explores a predator–prey system featuring fear and disease within the predator population,utilizing the Rosenzweig–MacArthur model with Holling type-II functional response. The primary focus lies in investigating the impact of a fear factor, wherein the prey's growth rate is hindered due to predator-induced fear. Additionally, the model accounts for the spread of disease among predators,leading to a division between susceptible and infected predator subpopulations. The inclusion of an Allee effect in the susceptible predator further enriches the model. The study involves a thorough examination, encompassing local and global stability analysis as well as Hopf bifurcation analysis around the interior equilibrium point. Numerical simulations underscore a noteworthy observation: an escalation in interaction force propels the system into chaotic dynamics,marked by stable focus, limit cycles and period-doubling phenomena. A noteworthy finding pertains to the influence of the Allee parameter (θ) on chaotic dynamics. As the Allee parameter values increase, the system tends to stable focus through a sequence of chaotic states, period-doubling and limit cycles. Subsequently, the paper introduces the role of another pivotal parameter, the fear factor, into the chaotic dynamics. Intriguingly, chaos transforms into stable focus through diverse nonlinear phenomena, including period-doubling and limit cycles. We are concerned in this paper with the stability and bifurcation problems for three-neuron-based bi-directional associative memory neural networks that are involved with time delays in transmission terms and possess Caputo fractional derivatives of non-commensurate orders. For the fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks that are dealt with in this paper, we view the time delays as the bifurcation parameters. Via a standard contraction mapping argument, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the state trajectories of the investigated fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks. By utilizing the idea and technique of linearization, we analyze the influence of time delays on the dynamical behavior of the investigated neural networks, as well as establish and prove several stability/bifurcation criteria for the neural networks dealt with in this paper. According to each of our established criteria, the equilibrium states of the investigated fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks are asymptotically stable when some of the time delays are less than strictly specific positive constants, i.e., when the thresholds or the bifurcation points undergo Hopf bifurcation in the concerned networks at the aforementioned threshold constants. In the meantime, we provide several illustrative examples to numerically and visually validate our stability and bifurcation results. Our stability and bifurcation theoretical results in this paper yield some insights into the cause mechanism of the bifurcation phenomena for some other complex phenomena, and this is extremely helpful for the design of feedback control to attenuate or even to remove such complex phenomena in the dynamics of fractional bi-directional associative memory neural networks with time delays. With the frequent occurrence of financial risks, financial innovation supervision has become an important research issue, and excellent regulatory strategies are of great significance to maintain the stability and sustainable development of financial markets. Thus, this paper intends to analyze the financial regulation strategies through evolutionary game theory. In this paper, the delayed replication dynamic equation and the non-delayed replication dynamic equation are established, respectively, under different reward and punishment mechanisms, and their stability conditions and evolutionary stability strategies are investigated. The analysis finds that under the static mechanism, the internal equilibrium is unstable, and the delay does not affect the stability of the system, while in the dynamic mechanism, when the delay is less than a critical value, the two sides of the game have an evolutionary stable strategy, otherwise it is unstable, and Hopf bifurcation occurs at threshold. In this paper, we present a memory-based diffusion predator-prey model that incorporates spatial heterogeneity and is subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Prey species lack memory or cognitive abilities, exhibiting only random diffusion. In contrast, predators utilize memory-based self-diffusion. For the proposed model, we establish the existence and explicit expression of a spatially non-constant positive steady-state. Furthermore, we demonstrate that memory-based diffusion and the averaged memory period can lead to richer dynamics. Specifically, when the memory-based diffusion coefficient is not dominant, the averaged memory period has no impact on the non-constant steady-state. However, when the memory-based diffusion coefficient takes precedence, the averaged memory period can destabilize the non-constant steady-state, resulting in Hopf bifurcation and the emergence of spatially non-homogeneous periodic solutions. In this paper, we investigate the normal form a class of partial functional differential equations, which takes account of delays in the diffusion terms as well as a wider scope of nonlinear terms. We first study the associated linear theory, mainly including the spectral properties of infinitesimal generator, formal adjoint and decomposition of phase space. Based on these results, the normal form theory for nonlinear equation is established, which can be used to study the local dynamics near the steady state for such equations. As an application, we consider the Hopf bifurcation problem of a scalar diffusive equation with delay not only involved in the diffusive term but also in reaction terms. The normal form, depending on the original coefficients, up to the third order term is calculated, which allows us to determine the direction of Hopf bifurcation and stability of bifurcated periodic solutions. Motivated by the study of multiple time scale system dynamics, we analyze the Murali–Lakshmanan–Chua (MLC) dissipative circuit exhibiting periodic bursting with different types of oscillations in this paper. Such patterns can be analyzed by treating the slow variable as a parameter of the nonsmooth fast subsystem. The discontinuous bifurcation structure of the subsystem can be described by the generalized differential of Clarke and the Jacobian matrix of the system. Bursting patterns as well as the oscillation mechanisms can be clarified by the discontinuous bifurcations, time series and phase portraits. For the chosen circuit parameter values, this designed circuit admits both MLC type bursting attractors and Duffing–van der Pol circuit type bursting attractors. It is found that not only the features combined with the circuit parameters of the system, but also the two switching boundaries may have an important impact on the origin of the bursting behaviors. In particular, the explicit analytic solutions of the proposed circuit are investigated in detail. We also show that the bursting can arise from either discontinuous saddle-node bifurcation or slow passage through a discontinuous Hopf bifurcation. This paper is concerned with the sustained periodic oscillation phenomenon in a three-species delayed predation system with Holling type II functional response and age structure in top predator. The top predator fertility function is regarded as a piecewise continuous smooth function with regard to their maturation period τ 2 . The complicated dynamic behavior is proved by integrated semigroup theory and Hopf bifurcation theorem for semilinear equations with non-dense domain. Through qualitative analysis and bifurcation study of the system, we yield that this system has a nontrivial periodic solution that bifurcates from the positive equilibrium age distribution when bifurcation parameter τ passes through some critical values. In this paper, an SIRS epidemic model using Grunwald–Letnikov fractional-order derivative is formulated with the help of a nonlinear system of fractional differential equations to analyze the effects of fear in the population during the outbreak of deadly infectious diseases. The criteria for the spread or extinction of the disease are derived and discussed on the basis of the basic reproduction number. The condition for the existence of Hopf bifurcation is discussed considering fractional order as a bifurcation parameter. Additionally, using the Grunwald–Letnikov approximation, the simulation is carried out to confirm the validity of analytic results graphically. Using the real data of COVID-19 in India recorded during the second wave from 15 May 2021 to 15 December 2021, we estimate the model parameters and find that the fractional-order model gives the closer forecast of the disease than the classical one. In this paper, we investigate a quadratic chaotic system modeling self-excited and hidden attractors which is described by a system of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations with three real parameters. The primary goal is to establish the existence of two limit cycles that bifurcate based on the system's nature as an electronic circuits model, specifically via Hopf bifurcation. Notably, the application of the first and second Lyapunov coefficients is utilized to demonstrate the bifurcation of two limit cycles from an equilibrium point near a Hopf critical point. This paper presents the stability and bifurcation of the Hindmarsh–Rose neuronal model with time delay. First, we discuss the existence and stability of the equilibria, revealing that the system can have a maximum of three equilibria which exhibit always stable, always unstable, and stability switching dynamics, depending on the stability of the equilibria when there is no time delay. Furthermore, an explicit formula for the time delay at which Hopf bifurcation occurs is derived, and the direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are also given. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to support our theoretical results. We find that due to the existence of time delay, our system can exhibit many interesting dynamical behaviors depending on the number of equilibria and the increase in time delay. For instance, with increasing time delay, bistability transitions to the coexistence of a periodic solution and a stable equilibrium, followed by the emergence of quasi-periodic motion alongside stable equilibria, and eventually leading to chaotic motion coexisting with a stable equilibrium. A two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear high-speed railway wheelset model with two time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers is studied. The aim is to investigate the effect of time delays on stability and Hopf bifurcation characteristics of the wheelset model. The local stability of the trivial equilibrium under different time delay conditions is qualitatively analyzed. Analytical studies reveal that the wheelset model undergoes stability switches with the variation of the time delays. The stability switches correspond to Hopf bifurcations that occur when the time delays cross critical values. Furthermore, properties of Hopf bifurcation including direction and stability of bifurcating limit cycles are studied by using the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Our findings indicate that time delays in both lateral dampers and yaw dampers influence the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Additionally, the numerical results show that time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers not only affect the amplitude of the hunting motion of the wheelset but also the periodic and chaotic motions. If the time delays gradually increase, the wheelset will vibrate irregularly with large lateral displacements. In this paper, a diffusive zooplankton–phytoplankton model with time delay and hunting cooperation is established. First, the existence of all positive equilibria and their local stability are proved when the system does not include time delay and diffusion. Then, the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium is proved by taking time delay as the bifurcation parameter, and the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are investigated by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory in partial differential equations. Next, according to the theory of Turing bifurcation, the conditions for the occurrence of Turing bifurcation are obtained by taking the intraspecific competition rate of the prey as the bifurcation parameter. The slow–fast Leslie–Gower model with piecewise-smooth Holling type-I functional response and weak Allee effect is studied in this paper. It is shown that the model undergoes singular Hopf bifurcation and nonsmooth Hopf bifurcation as the parameters vary. The theoretical analysis implies that the predator's food quality and Allee effect play an important role and lead to richer dynamical phenomena such as the globally stable equilibria, canard explosion phenomenon, a hyperbolically stable relaxation oscillation cycle enclosing almost two canard cycles with different stabilities and so on. Moreover, the predator and prey will coexist as multiple steady states or periodic oscillations for different positive initial populations and positive parameter values. A general time-delay reaction–diffusion–advection system with the Dirichlet boundary condition and spatial heterogeneity is investigated in this paper. By using the implicit function theorem, we obtain the existence and asymptotic expression of the spatially non-homogeneous positive steady-state solution. This is the steady-state bifurcation from zero equilibrium. Via analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation, the stability of the spatially non-homogeneous positive steady-state solution and the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive steady-state solution are obtained, and the spatially non-homogeneous periodic solution is derived from Hopf bifurcation, this is the secondary bifurcation behavior of the system. Utilizing the normal form method and center manifold theory, we prove that the direction of Hopf bifurcation is supercritical and the bifurcating spatially non-homogeneous periodic solution is stable. Furthermore, We show that there exist two sequences Hopf bifurcation values and the orders of two sequences Hopf bifurcation values are given. Moreover, theoretical and numerical results are applied to competition and cooperation systems, respectively. Finally, the effect of the advection rate and spatial heterogeneity are discussed. In this paper, we derive the algorithm for calculating the normal form of the double Hopf bifurcation that appears in a memory-based diffusion system via taking memory-based diffusion coefficient and the memory delay as the perturbation parameters. Using the obtained theoretical results, we study the dynamical classification near the double Hopf bifurcation point in a predator-prey system with Holling type II functional response. We show the existence of different kinds of stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions, the transition from one kind to the other as well as the coexistence of two types of periodic solutions with different spatial profiles by varying the memory-based diffusion coefficient and the memory delay. In this paper, a predator–prey system with multiple anti-predator behaviors is developed and studied, where not only the prey may spread between patches but also the fear effect and counter-attack behavior of the prey are taken into account. First, the stability and existence of coexistence equilibria are presented. The unique positive equilibrium may be a saddle-node or a cusp of codimension 2. Then, various transversality conditions of bifurcations such as saddle-node bifurcation, transcritical bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation are obtained. In this paper, we designed a population model that shows how a prey species defends itself against a generalist predator by exhibiting group defence. A non-monotonic functional response is used to represent the group defence functionality. We have demonstrated the model's local stability in the vicinity of the coexisting equilibrium solution employing a local Lyapunov function. Condition for existence of Hopf bifurcation is obtained along with its normal form. The suggested model has been validated by numerical simulations, which have also been used to verify the acquired analytical results. Recently, many scholars have discovered that fractional calculus possess infinite memory and can better reflect the memory characteristics of neurons. Therefore, this paper studies the Hopf bifurcation of a fractional‐order network with short‐cut connections structure and self‐delay feedback. Firstly, we use the Laplace transform to obtain the characteristic equation of the model, which is the transcendental equation containing four times transcendental item. Secondly, by selecting the communication delay as the bifurcation parameter and the other delay as the constant in its stability interval, the conditions for the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation are established; the bifurcation diagrams are provided to ensure that the derived bifurcation findings are accurate. Thirdly, in the case of identical neurons, the crossing curves method is exploited to the fractional‐order functional function equation to extract the Hopf bifurcation curve. In this paper, we mainly study the dynamic properties of a class of three-dimensional SIR models. First, we use the complete discriminant theory of polynomials to obtain the parameter conditions for the topological types of each fixed point. Second, by employing the centre manifold theorem and bifurcation theory, we prove that the system may undergo transcritical, flip and Neimark–Sacker bifurcations at fixed points. In this paper, a system containing switching manifolds is constructed based on a non-linear conveyor belt model by introducing a periodic external excitation term. When the frequency of the external excitation is much smaller than the intrinsic frequency of the system, a series of bursting phenomena can be observed. Using the Filippov convex method, bifurcation mechanisms on the non-smooth boundary are discussed. Particularly, the explicit expression of the sliding region is obtained. Based on that, different bursting dynamics, especially the switching patterns dominated by sliding phenomena, are revealed by considering two cases of stiffness and excitation amplitude. It is shown that there exist different types of equilibrium points, leading to multiple modes of bifurcation, as stiffness changes. However, there always exist a pair of subcritical Hopf bifurcation points, which lie on the unstable equilibrium curve. Varying the excitation amplitude, different types of bursting oscillation modes may occur. Allee effect in models in interacting species of predator prey system has great significance in ecological context. Allee effect plays crucial role in population dynamics in ecology, where it is the challenging fact that per capita population growth rate is positively dependent on the population density of a species. In this paper, we inspect the famous Hastings and Powell (HP) (Hastings and Powell 1991 Ecology 72 896–903) model incorporating component Allee effect on top predator's reproduction. We analyse the updated model with the help of both analytical and numerical phenomena. Considering cost of Allee effect, half-saturation constant of prey as the key parameters, the Hopf bifurcations are also analysed. The directions of Hopf bifurcations at the critical values of Allee parameter and half-saturation constant of prey are studied theoretically by using normal form theory introduced by Hassard et al (1981 Theory and Applications of Hopf Bifurcation vol 41 (CUP Archive)). The formulated model indicates that the system demonstrates chaotic, periodic and stable dynamics in the variation of key parameters. The chaos can be controlled for proper application of the large values of parameter used as the cost of Allee effect and also for small values of the parameter used as the half saturation constant of prey population. In this paper, we study a delayed HIV infection model with nonmonotonic immune response and perform stability and bifurcation analysis. Our results show that the delayed HIV infection system with nonmonotonic immune response has bistability and stable periodic solution appear. We find that both the uninfected and immune-free equilibria are globally asymptotically stable under certain conditions which are not affected by time delay. However, the time delay makes one immune equilibrium always unstable for τ ≥ 0 and also makes another immune equilibrium appear stability switches; meanwhile, the system will exhibit local Hopf bifurcation, global Hopf bifurcation, and saddle-node-Hopf bifurcation. In the realm of modeling biological systems with memory, particularly those involving intricate interactions like tumor-immune responses, the utilization of multiple time delays and Caputo-type fractional-order derivatives represents a cutting-edge approach. In this research paper, we introduce a novel fractional-order model to investigate the dynamic interplay between tumors and macrophages, a key component of the immune system, while incorporating multiple time delays into our framework. Our proposed model comprises a system of three Caputo-type fractional-order differential equations, each representing distinct cell populations: tumor cells, anti-tumor cells (specifically M1-type macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties), and pro-tumor cells (M2-type macrophages with immune-suppressive characteristics). The stability of equilibria is discussed by analyzing the characteristic equations for each case, and the existence conditions for the Hopf bifurcation are obtained according to the critical values of delay parameters. Furthermore, numerical simulations are presented in order to verify the analytical results obtained for stability and Hopf-bifurcation with respect to the two-time delay parameters τ1 and τ2. This paper presents a detailed study on the dynamics of a three-species food chain system with memory-based delay under weak Allee effect and middle predator refuge. The local stability analyses of the non-diffusive and memory-based diffusion systems are investigated. Moreover, we give a priori estimates and obtain the existence of the positive constant steady state by applying the comparison theorem. The paper's primary objective is to examine the dynamic behavior of an integer and noninteger predator–prey system with a Holling type IV functional response in the Caputo sense. Our focus is on understanding how harvesting influences the stability, equilibria, bifurcations, and limit cycles within this system. We employ qualitative and quantitative analysis methods rooted in bifurcation theory, dynamical theory, and numerical simulation. We also delve into studying the boundedness of solutions and investigating the stability and existence of equilibrium points within the system. Leveraging Sotomayor's theorem, we establish the presence of both the saddle-node and transcritical bifurcations. The analysis of the Hopf bifurcation is carried out using the normal form theorem. The model under consideration is extended to the fractional reaction–diffusion model which captures non-local and long-range effects more accurately than integer-order derivatives. This makes fractional reaction–diffusion systems suitable for modeling phenomena with anomalous diffusion or memory effects, improving the fidelity of simulations in turn. An adaptable numerical technique for solving this class of differential equations is also suggested. Through simulation results, we observe that one of the Lyapunov exponents has a negative value, indicating the potential for the emergence of a stable-limit cycle via bifurcation as well as chaotic and complex spatiotemporal distributions. We supplement our analytical investigations with numerical simulations to provide a comprehensive understanding of the system's behavior. In this paper, a class of two-delay differential equations with coefficient-dependent delay is studied. The distribution of the roots of the eigenequation is discussed, and conditions for the stability of the internal equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained. This paper examines the dynamic behavior of a particular category of discrete predator-prey system that feature both fear effect and refuge, using both analytical and numerical methods. The critical coefficients and properties of bifurcating periodic solutions for Flip and Hopf bifurcations are computed using the center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. Additionally, numerical simulations are employed to illustrate the bifurcation phenomenon and chaos characteristics. The results demonstrate that period-doubling and Hopf bifurcations are two typical routes to generate chaos, as evidenced by the calculation of the maximum Lyapunov exponents near the critical bifurcation points. Finally, a feedback control method is suggested, utilizing feedback of system states and perturbation of feedback parameters, to efficiently manage the bifurcations and chaotic attractors of the discrete predator-prey model. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains serious around the world and causes huge deaths and economic losses. Understanding the transmission dynamics of diseases and providing effective control strategies play important roles in the prevention of epidemic diseases. In this paper, to investigate the effect of delays on the transmission of COVID-19, we propose a delayed SEIR model to describe COVID-19 virus transmission, where two delays indicating the incubation and recovery periods are introduced. For this system, we prove its solutions are nonnegative and ultimately bounded with the nonnegative initial conditions. Furthermore, we calculate the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points and analyze the asymptotical stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcations at these equilibrium points. Then, by taking the weighted sum of the opposite number of recovered individuals at the terminal time, the number of exposed and infected individuals during the time horizon, and the system cost of control measures as the cost function, we present a delay optimal control problem, where two controls represent the social contact and the pharmaceutical intervention. Necessary optimality conditions of this optimal control problem are exploited to characterize the optimal control strategies. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to verify the theoretical analysis of the stability and Hopf bifurcations at the equilibrium points and to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained optimal strategies in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic. The dynamics and vibration reduction performance of bistable nonlinear energy sink (BNES) are studied in this paper. First, the negative stiffness of BNES is realized by geometric nonlinearity, and the dynamics model of the system is established. The slow flow equation of the system under 1:1 main resonance is analyzed based on the complexification-averaging (CX-A) method, and the boundary conditions of saddle node bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation are analyzed. Second, the slow invariant manifold (SIM) of the BNES is studied based on multiscale analysis, and the excitation threshold of strongly modulated response (SMR) is analyzed; the analysis results are verified by the numerical method. The results show that the analytical solution is highly consistent with the numerical solution, and the error is less than 1%. Finally, the influence of structural parameters on the vibration reduction performance is analyzed and optimized. Circular domains frequently appear in mathematical modeling in the fields of ecology, biology and chemistry. In this paper, we investigate the equivariant Hopf bifurcation of partial functional differential equations with Neumann boundary condition on a two-dimensional disk. The properties of these bifurcations at equilibriums are analyzed rigorously by studying the equivariant normal forms. Two reaction–diffusion systems with discrete time delays are selected as numerical examples to verify the theoretical results, in which spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions including standing waves and rotating waves, and spatially homogeneous periodic solutions are found near the bifurcation points. In this paper, we introduce constant-yield prey harvesting into the Holling–Tanner model with generalist predator. We prove that the unique positive equilibrium is a cusp of codimension 4. As the parameter values change, the system exhibits degenerate Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension 4. Using the resultant elimination method, we show that the positive equilibrium is a weak focus of order 2, and the system undergoes degenerate Hopf bifurcation of codimension 2 and has two limit cycles. By numerical simulations, we demonstrate that the system exhibits homoclinic bifurcation and saddle–node bifurcation of limit cycles as the parameters are varied. In this paper, we proposed a Holling-III predator–prey model considering the perturbation of slow-varying, carrying capacity parameters. The study aims to address how the slow changes in carrying capacity influence the dynamics of the model. Based on the bifurcation theory and the slow–fast analysis method, the existence and the equilibrium of the autonomous system are explored, and then, the critical condition of Hopf bifurcation and transcritical bifurcation is established for the autonomous system. The slow–fast coupled nonautonomous system has quasiperiodic oscillations, single Hopf bursting oscillations, and transcritical–Hopf bursting oscillations within a certain range of perturbation amplitude variation if the carrying capacity perturbation amplitude crosses some critical values, such that the predator–prey management is challenging for the extinction of predator populations under the critical value. The motion pattern of the nonautonomous system is closely related to the transcritical bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and attractor type of the autonomous system. Finally, the effects of changes in parameters related to predator aggressiveness on system behavior are investigated. In this work, a new glucose–insulin model incorporating time delay and obesity is developed to gain insights of its dynamical mechanisms. Through the method of multiple scales, we theoretically demonstrate that time delay can drive the system to yield Hopf bifurcation, thereby producing oscillating solutions that are consistent with the simulation results. Moreover, obesity changes the level of glucose, but cannot induce oscillations. In particular, it is found that under the combined effect of obesity and time delay, obesity delays the appearance of Hopf bifurcation which is induced by time delay. Results show that a low calorie diet can achieve therapeutic effects including reducing blood glucose fluctuations and insulin resistance, which can be used as an adjuvant for the treatment of diabetes. In addition, our results indicate that the delay, together with an optimal rate of model parameters can cause a variety of dynamics and induce glucose oscillations. The result obtained in this paper may help to better understand the obesity, diabetes, and the interaction between glucose and insulin, so that control strategies can be designed to better regulate blood glucose levels and fluctuations and mitigate the occurrence of type-2 diabetes. In order to stop and reverse land degradation and curb the loss of biodiversity, the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development proposes to combat desertification. In this paper, a fractional vegetation–water model in an arid flat environment is studied. The pattern behavior of the fractional model is much more complex than that of the integer order. We study the stability and Turing instability of the system, as well as the Hopf bifurcation of fractional order α , and obtain the Turing region in the parameter space. According to the amplitude equation, different types of stationary mode discoveries can be obtained, including point patterns and strip patterns. Finally, the results of the numerical simulation and theoretical analysis are consistent. We find some novel fractal patterns of the fractional vegetation–water model in an arid flat environment. When the diffusion coefficient, d, changes and other parameters remain unchanged, the pattern structure changes from stripes to spots. When the fractional order parameter, β , changes, and other parameters remain unchanged, the pattern structure becomes more stable and is not easy to destroy. The aim of this paper is to investigate the dynamic behaviors of fractional- order logistic model with Allee effects in Caputo–Fabrizio sense. First of all, we apply the two-step Adams–Bashforth scheme to discretize the fractional-order logistic differential equation and obtain the two-dimensional discrete system. The parametric conditions for local asymptotic stability of equilibrium points are obtained by Schur–Chon criterion. Moreover, we discuss the existence and direction for Neimark–Sacker bifurcations with the help of center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. In this paper, a new generalized non-monotonic and saturated incidence rate was introduced into a susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) epidemic model to account for inhibitory effect and crowding effect. The dynamic properties of the model were studied by qualitative theory and bifurcation theory. It is shown that when the influence of psychological factors is large, the model has only disease-free equilibrium point, and this disease-free equilibrium point is globally asymptotically stable; when the influence of psychological factors is small, for some parameter conditions, the model has a unique endemic equilibrium point, which is a cusp point of co-dimension two, and for other parameter conditions the model has two endemic equilibrium points, one of which could be weak focus or center. In addition, the results of the model undergoing saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation as the parameters vary were also proved. In this paper, we investigate the (2+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Benjamin-Bona Mahony equation using two effective methods: the unified scheme and the advanced auxiliary equation scheme, aiming to derive precise wave solutions. These solutions are expressed as combinations of trigonometric, rational, hyperbolic, and exponential functions. Visual representations, including three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) combined charts, are provided for some of these solutions. The influence of the nonlinear parameter p on the wave type is thoroughly examined through diverse figures, illustrating the profound impact of nonlinearity. Additionally, we briefly investigate the Hamiltonian function and the stability of the model using a planar dynamical system approach. This involves examining trajectories, isoclines, and nullclines to illustrate stable solution paths for the wave variables. Numerical results demonstrate that these methods are reliable, straightforward, and potent tools for analyzing various nonlinear evolution equations found in physics, applied mathematics, and engineering. In this paper, we carry out some research on a predator–prey system with maturation delay, a stage structure for generalist predators and a Holling type-II functional response, which has already been proposed. First, for the delayed model, we obtain the conditions for the occurrence of stability switches of the positive equilibrium and possible Hopf bifurcation values owing to the growth of the value of the delay by applying the geometric criterion. It should be pointed out that when we suppose that the characteristic equation has a pair of imaginary roots λ = ± i ω (ω > 0) , we just need to consider i ω (ω > 0) due to the symmetry, which alleviates the computation requirements. The recent focus in the fields of biology and ecology has centered on the significant attention given to the mathematical modeling and analyzing the spatiotemporal population distribution among species engaged in interactions. This paper explores the dynamics of the temporal and spatiotemporal delayed Bazykin-type prey–predator model, incorporating fear and its carryover effect. In our model, we incorporated a functional response of the Holling-type II. In the temporal model, a detailed dynamic analysis was carried out, investigating the positivity and boundedness of solutions, establishing the uniqueness and existence of positive interior equilibria, and examining both local and global stability. Additionally, we explored the presence of saddle-node, transcritical, and Hopf bifurcations varying attack rate parameter. The delayed system shows highly periodic behavior. Additionally, for the spatiotemporal model, we provide a complete analysis of local and global stability, and we derive the conditions for the existence of Turing instability for both self-diffusion and cross-diffusion, respectively. The two-dimensional diffusive model is further discussed, highlighting various Turing patterns, including holes, stripes, and hot and cold spots, along with their biological significance. In this paper, we study a predator--prey mite model of Leslie type with generalized Holling IV functional response. The model is shown to have very rich bifurcation dynamics, including subcritical and supercritical Hopf bifurcations, degenerate Hopf bifurcation, focustype and cusp-type degenerate Bogdanov--Takens bifurcations of codimension 3, originating from a nilpotent focus or cusp of codimension 3 that acts as the organizing center for the bifurcation set. Coexistence of multiple steady states, multiple limit cycles, and homoclinic cycles is also found. Interestingly, the coexistence of two limit cycles is guaranteed by investigating generalized Hopf bifurcation and degenerate homoclinic bifurcation, and we also find that two generalized Hopf bifurcation points are connected by a saddle-node bifurcation curve of limit cycles, which indicates the existence of global regime for two limit cycles. In this paper, we provide a rigorous description of the birth of canard limit cycles in slow-fast systems in R 3 through the folded saddle-node of type II and the singular Hopf bifurcation. In particular, we prove – in the analytic case only – that for all 0 < ϵ ≪ 1 there is a family of periodic orbits, born in the (singular) Hopf bifurcation and extending to O (1) cycles that follow the strong canard of the folded saddle-node. Our results can be seen as an extension of the canard explosion in R 2 , but in contrast to the planar case, the family of periodic orbits in R 3 is not explosive. For this reason, we have chosen to call the phenomena in R 3 , the "dud canard". The main difficulty of the proof lies in connecting the Hopf cycles with the canard cycles, since these are described in different scalings. As in R 2 , we use blowup to overcome this, but we also have to compensate for the lack of uniformity near the Hopf bifurcation, due to its singular nature; it is a zero-Hopf bifurcation in the limit ϵ = 0. In this paper, we deal with a classical object, namely, a nonhyperbolic limit cycle in a system of smooth autonomous ordinary differential equations. While the existence of a center manifold near such a cycle was assumed in several studies on cycle bifurcations based on periodic normal forms, no proofs were available in the literature until recently. The main goal of this paper is to give an elementary proof of the existence of a periodic smooth locally invariant center manifold near a nonhyperbolic cycle in finite-dimensional ordinary differential equations by using the Lyapunov–Perron method. In a photovoltaic permanent magnet synchronous motor pumping system (PVPMSM), both photovoltaic modules and switching-mode converters present nonlinear and time-variant characteristics, which result in a difficult control problem. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the operating point dynamics. A potential trade-off exists between maximum power and stability of the system operating point. Analysis of parametric singularities based on bifurcation theory permits to optimize the maximum power-stability trade-off. Tracing the bifurcation structures related to the parameter set (T, G), we can determine the maximum power point(MPP) in midway and far enough from the bifurcation points from these structures. An algorithm aiming to determine the MPP within the range of stability through power bifurcation analysis is proposed in this paper. In this paper, a stage structure predator–prey model consisting of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations is proposed and analyzed. The prey populations are divided into two parts: juvenile prey and adult prey. From extensive experimental data, it has been found that prey fear of predators can alter the physiological behavior of individual prey, and the fear effect reduces their reproductive rate and increases their mortality. In addition, we also consider the presence of constant ratio refuge in adult prey populations. Moreover, we consider the existence of intraspecific competition between adult prey species and predator species separately in our model and also introduce the gestation delay of predators to obtain a more realistic and natural eco-dynamic behaviors. We study the positivity and boundedness of the solution of the non-delayed system and analyze the existence of various equilibria and the stability of the system at these equilibria. Next by choosing the intra-specific competition coefficient of adult prey as bifurcation parameter, we demonstrate that Hopf bifurcation may occur near the positive equilibrium point. Then by taking the gestation delay as bifurcation parameter, the sufficient conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation of the delayed system at the positive equilibrium point are given. And the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the periodic solution are analyzed by using the center manifold theorem and normal form theory.
