In the realm of modeling biological systems with memory, particularly those involving intricate interactions like tumor-immune responses, the utilization of multiple time delays and Caputo-type fractional-order derivatives represents a cutting-edge approach. In this research paper, we introduce a novel fractional-order model to investigate the dynamic interplay between tumors and macrophages, a key component of the immune system, while incorporating multiple time delays into our framework. Our proposed model comprises a system of three Caputo-type fractional-order differential equations, each representing distinct cell populations: tumor cells, anti-tumor cells (specifically M1-type macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties), and pro-tumor cells (M2-type macrophages with immune-suppressive characteristics). The stability of equilibria is discussed by analyzing the characteristic equations for each case, and the existence conditions for the Hopf bifurcation are obtained according to the critical values of delay parameters. Furthermore, numerical simulations are presented in order to verify the analytical results obtained for stability and Hopf-bifurcation with respect to the two-time delay parameters τ1 and τ2. This paper presents a detailed study on the dynamics of a three-species food chain system with memory-based delay under weak Allee effect and middle predator refuge. The local stability analyses of the non-diffusive and memory-based diffusion systems are investigated. Moreover, we give a priori estimates and obtain the existence of the positive constant steady state by applying the comparison theorem. Sufficient conditions for the global stability are established by Barbalat lemma and the Lyapunov function. The theoretical results suggest the joint effect of cross-diffusion and memory-based delay can lead to Hopf bifurcation, which cannot appear in the system with self-diffusion or a small cross-diffusion coefficient. Circular domains frequently appear in mathematical modeling in the fields of ecology, biology and chemistry. In this paper, we investigate the equivariant Hopf bifurcation of partial functional differential equations with Neumann boundary condition on a two-dimensional disk. The properties of these bifurcations at equilibriums are analyzed rigorously by studying the equivariant normal forms. Two reaction–diffusion systems with discrete time delays are selected as numerical examples to verify the theoretical results, in which spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions including standing waves and rotating waves, and spatially homogeneous periodic solutions are found near the bifurcation points. In this paper, we introduce constant-yield prey harvesting into the Holling–Tanner model with generalist predator. We prove that the unique positive equilibrium is a cusp of codimension 4. As the parameter values change, the system exhibits degenerate Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension 4. Using the resultant elimination method, we show that the positive equilibrium is a weak focus of order 2, and the system undergoes degenerate Hopf bifurcation of codimension 2 and has two limit cycles. By numerical simulations, we demonstrate that the system exhibits homoclinic bifurcation and saddle–node bifurcation of limit cycles as the parameters are varied. In this paper, we proposed a Holling-III predator–prey model considering the perturbation of slow-varying, carrying capacity parameters. The study aims to address how the slow changes in carrying capacity influence the dynamics of the model. Based on the bifurcation theory and the slow–fast analysis method, the existence and the equilibrium of the autonomous system are explored, and then, the critical condition of Hopf bifurcation and transcritical bifurcation is established for the autonomous system. The slow–fast coupled nonautonomous system has quasiperiodic oscillations, single Hopf bursting oscillations, and transcritical–Hopf bursting oscillations within a certain range of perturbation amplitude variation if the carrying capacity perturbation amplitude crosses some critical values, such that the predator–prey management is challenging for the extinction of predator populations under the critical value. The motion pattern of the nonautonomous system is closely related to the transcritical bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and attractor type of the autonomous system. Finally, the effects of changes in parameters related to predator aggressiveness on system behavior are investigated. In this work, a new glucose–insulin model incorporating time delay and obesity is developed to gain insights of its dynamical mechanisms. Through the method of multiple scales, we theoretically demonstrate that time delay can drive the system to yield Hopf bifurcation, thereby producing oscillating solutions that are consistent with the simulation results. Moreover, obesity changes the level of glucose, but cannot induce oscillations. In particular, it is found that under the combined effect of obesity and time delay, obesity delays the appearance of Hopf bifurcation which is induced by time delay. Results show that a low calorie diet can achieve therapeutic effects including reducing blood glucose fluctuations and insulin resistance, which can be used as an adjuvant for the treatment of diabetes. In addition, our results indicate that the delay, together with an optimal rate of model parameters can cause a variety of dynamics and induce glucose oscillations. The result obtained in this paper may help to better understand the obesity, diabetes, and the interaction between glucose and insulin, so that control strategies can be designed to better regulate blood glucose levels and fluctuations and mitigate the occurrence of type-2 diabetes. The recent focus in the fields of biology and ecology has centered on the significant attention given to the mathematical modeling and analyzing the spatiotemporal population distribution among species engaged in interactions. This paper explores the dynamics of the temporal and spatiotemporal delayed Bazykin-type prey–predator model, incorporating fear and its carryover effect. In our model, we incorporated a functional response of the Holling-type II. In the temporal model, a detailed dynamic analysis was carried out, investigating the positivity and boundedness of solutions, establishing the uniqueness and existence of positive interior equilibria, and examining both local and global stability. Additionally, we explored the presence of saddle-node, transcritical, and Hopf bifurcations varying attack rate parameter. The delayed system shows highly periodic behavior. Additionally, for the spatiotemporal model, we provide a complete analysis of local and global stability, and we derive the conditions for the existence of Turing instability for both self-diffusion and cross-diffusion, respectively. The two-dimensional diffusive model is further discussed, highlighting various Turing patterns, including holes, stripes, and hot and cold spots, along with their biological significance. In this paper, we study a predator--prey mite model of Leslie type with generalized Holling IV functional response. The model is shown to have very rich bifurcation dynamics, including subcritical and supercritical Hopf bifurcations, degenerate Hopf bifurcation, focustype and cusp-type degenerate Bogdanov--Takens bifurcations of codimension 3, originating from a nilpotent focus or cusp of codimension 3 that acts as the organizing center for the bifurcation set. Coexistence of multiple steady states, multiple limit cycles, and homoclinic cycles is also found. Interestingly, the coexistence of two limit cycles is guaranteed by investigating generalized Hopf bifurcation and degenerate homoclinic bifurcation, and we also find that two generalized Hopf bifurcation points are connected by a saddle-node bifurcation curve of limit cycles, which indicates the existence of global regime for two limit cycles. In this paper, we consider a predator-prey model describing intraguild predation with memory-based diffusion. We first investigate the stability of two semi-trivial constant steady states and find that they are unstable if the positive steady state exists and can not be stable at the same time. Then we study the stability of the positive constant steady state and find that system has no Turing bifurcation when the predator is assumed to forage the prey and multiple stability switches can arise through Hopf bifurcation with joint effects of the memory-based diffusion and delay. The aim of this paper is to investigate the vibration suppression effect of a nonlinear energy sink (NES) on the wind-vortex-induced vibration of deep-water jacket pipes. Based on nonlinear dynamical theories, the coupled dynamic equation of a deep-water jacket pipe with NES was established, and the nonlinear response characteristics and motion stability of the system were studied by using the multi-scale mixed harmonic balance method and Routh–Hurwitz criterion. The paper also analyzed the influence of the nonlinear stiffness and damping parameters of an NES on the dynamic response of the pipe. It is concluded that when the nonlinear stiffness of an NES increases to a certain extent, the motion response of the pipe appeared as a saddle-node and Hopf bifurcation, and the vibration amplitude of the pipe is greatly suppressed. For a system with nonlinear motion, NES damping mainly affects the range of the unstable region. For the system without nonlinear motion, the increases in NES damping will reduce the amplitude near the resonance region. In this paper, we study a model of oncolytic virus infection with two time delays, one of which is the time from the entry of viruses into tumor cells to start gene replication, and the other is the time from the entry of viruses into tumor cells to release new virus particles by infected tumor cells. In previous studies on oncolytic virus infection models, the infection rate was linear. Combined with the virus infection models, the saturated infection rate, β T V / 1 + q V is further considered to describe the dynamic evolution between viruses and tumor cells more objectively so as to further study the therapeutic effect of oncolytic viruses. This paper discusses the dynamics of the system under three conditions: (1) τ 1 = τ 2 = 0 , (2) τ 1 = 0 and τ 2 > 0 , and (3) τ 1 > 0 and τ 2 > 0 , and proves the global stability and local stability of the virusfree equilibrium, the stability of the infection equilibrium, and the existence of Hopf bifurcation. It is well known that the spread of cancer or tumor growth increases in polluted environments. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the cancer model in the polluted environment is studied taking into consideration the delay in clearance of the environment from their contamination. The set of differential equations that simulates this epidemic model is formulated. The existence, uniqueness, and the bound of the solution are discussed. In this paper we study generalized Poincaré-Andronov-Hopf bifurcations of discrete dynamical systems. In this paper, a reaction-diffusion Sporn-Seelig model subject to homogeneous Neumann boundary condition in the one dimensional spatial open bounded domain is considered. Of our particular interests, we are concerned with diffusion-driven instability of both the positive constant equilibrium solution and the Hopf bifurcating spatially homogeneous periodic solutions. In this paper, we propose a Leslie–Gower predator–prey model with strong Allee effect on prey and fear effect on predator. We discuss the existence and local stability of equilibria by making full use of qualitative analytical theory. It is shown that the above system exhibits at most two positive equilibria and it can undergo a series of bifurcation phenomena. We indicate that the dynamical behavior of the model is closely related to the fear effect on predator. In detail, when the fear effect parameter p = p ∗ , the system will undergo degenerate Hopf bifurcation. There exist two limit cycles (the inner is stable and the outer is unstable). However, when p = p ∗ , the system will undergo degenerate Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. Also, by numerical simulation, we conclude that the stronger the fear effect, the bigger the density of prey species. The above shows that fear effect on predator is beneficial to the persistence of the prey species. In this paper, a three-molecule autocatalytic Schnakenberg model with cross-diffusion is established, the instability of bifurcating periodic solutions caused by diffusion is studied, that is, diffusion can destabilize the stable periodic solutions of the ordinary differential equation (ODE) system. First, utilizing the local Hopf bifurcation theory, the central manifold theory, the normal form method and the regular perturbation theory of the infinite dimensional dynamical system, the stability of periodic solutions for the ODE system is discussed. Second, for this model, according to the implicit function existence theorem and Floquet theory, the Turing instability of spatially homogeneous Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is studied. It is proved that the otherwise stable Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions in the ODE system produces Turing instability in the Schnakenberg model with cross-diffusion. In this paper, a delayed prey-predator eco-epidemiological model with the nonlinear media is considered. First, the positivity and boundedness of solutions are given. Then, the basic reproductive number is showed, and the local stability of the trivial equilibrium and the disease-free equilibrium are discussed. Next, by taking the infection delay as a parameter, the conditions of the stability switches are given due to stability switching criteria, which concludes that the delay can generate instability and oscillation of the population through Hopf bifurcation. Further, by using normal form theory and center manifold theory, some explicit expressions determining direction of Hopf bifurcation and stability of periodic solutions are obtained. In this paper, some complicated dynamic characteristics are formulated for a discrete predator-prey model with a prey refuge. After studying the local dynamical properties about fixed points, our main purpose is to investigate condition(s) for the occurrence of flip and hopf bifurcations, respectively. Further, by the bifurcation theory, we have studied flip bifurcation at boundary fixed point, and flip and hopf bifurcations at interior fixed point of the discrete model. The predator–prey system can induce wealth properties with fear effects. In this paper, we propose a diffusive predator–prey model where the influence of fear effects and time delay is considered, under the Dirichlet boundary condition. It follows from the Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction method that there exists a non-homogeneous steady-state solution of the system and the specific expressions are also given. By the aid of bifurcation theory and eigenvalue theory, we also investigate the existence/non-existence and the stability of Hopf bifurcation under three different conditions of bifurcation parameters. Furthermore, the effects of the fear on population density, stability, and Hopf bifurcation are also considered and the results show that the increase of fear effects will reduce the population density, and Hopf bifurcation is more likely difficult to undergo as k increases under some conditions. When employing traditional low-order approximation equations to forecast the Hopf bifurcation phenomenon in the wake of a circular cylinder at low Reynolds numbers, inaccuracies may arise in estimating the phase. This is due to the fact that, in this transition process, the frequency varies with time. In this paper, we propose a method for analyzing and predicting the vortex shedding behind a cylinder at low Reynolds numbers. The proposed method is based on coordinate transformation and description function and is demonstrated using data from computational fluid dynamics simulation of flow around a cylinder at Reynolds number 100. The resulting governing equations explicitly contain the flow amplitude and implicitly contain the flow frequency. The proposed method is found to have higher accuracy compared to other methods for nonlinear identification and order reduction. Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the singular Hopf bifurcation and mixed mode oscillations (MMOs) in the perturbed Bonhoeffer-van der Pol (BVP) circuit. There is a singular periodic orbit constructed by the switching between the stable focus and large amplitude relaxation cycles. Using a generalized fast/slow analysis, the authors show the generation mechanism of two distinct kinds of MMOs. Design/methodology/approach: The parametric modulation can be used to generate complicated dynamics. The BVP circuit is constructed as an example for second-order differential equation with periodic perturbation. Then the authors draw the bifurcation parameter diagram in terms of a containing two attractive regions, i.e. the stable relaxation cycle and the stable focus. The transition mechanism and characteristic features are investigated intensively by one-fast/two-slow analysis combined with bifurcation theory. Findings: Periodic perturbation can suppress nonlinear circuit dynamic to a singular periodic orbit. The combination of these small oscillations with the large amplitude oscillations that occur due to canard cycles yields such MMOs. The results connect the theory of the singular Hopf bifurcation enabling easier calculations of where the oscillations occur. Originality/value: By treating the perturbation as the second slow variable, the authors obtain that the MMOs are due to the canards in a supercritical case or in a subcritical case. It has been well established in the literature that the predator-induced fear has indirect impact on prey but can have comparable effects on prey population as direct killing, and that the crowding effect or self-limitation of population plays pivotal roles in determining the dynamics and interactions among populations. In this paper, we first propose and investigate a deterministic prey-predator model incorporating simultaneously fear effect in prey and crowding effect in predators. The model has rich dynamics, including one up to three positive equilibria, complex bifurcations (saddle-node, Hopf and Bogdanov-Takens bifurcations), and two types of bistability (between two interior equilibria or between an interior equilibrium and an interior limit cycle). Thus the model is easily affected by external environmental fluctuations. When environmental noises are involved, some new dynamics can be observed for the developed stochastic model. Especially, for the scenarios when the deterministic model exhibits bistability, we can observe noise-induced frequent transitions between two different interior attractors (two interior equilibria or an interior equilibrium and an interior limit cycle). The tipping points of noise intensities for the occurrence of such transitions are estimated by constructing the confidence ellipse/band for the equilibrium/limit cycle. The present study investigates the stability analysis and chaos control of a fractional-order three-population food chain model. Previous research has indicated that the predation relationship within a long-established predator–prey system can be influenced by factors such as the prey's fear of the predator and its carry-over effects. This study examines the state evolution of fractional-order systems and compares their dynamic behavior with integer-order systems. By utilizing the Routh–Hurwitz condition and the stability theory of fractional differential equations, this paper establishes the local stability conditions of the model through the application of the Jacobi matrix and eigenvalue method. Furthermore, the conditions for the Hopf bifurcation generation are determined. Subsequently, chaos control techniques based on the Lyapunov stability theory are employed to stabilize the unstable trajectory at the equilibrium point. In the brain, feedforward inhibition is a fundamental regulator of balancing neural excitation and inhibition, and its dysfunction may cause epilepsy. In this paper, we investigate the influence of feedforward inhibition on absence seizures and its dynamical mechanisms based on a neural mass model. On the one hand, pyramidal neurons (PY), fast kinetic interneurons ( I fast ) and slow kinetic interneurons ( I slow ) form two feedforward inhibition pathways, which are the PY– I fast – I slow pathway and the PY– I slow – I fast pathway, respectively. When changing the synaptic strength in different pathways, the system shows simple oscillation state, spike and wave discharge (SWD), and multi-spike and wave discharge (m-SWD). On the other hand, the one-parameter bifurcation analysis reveals that the system develops fold bifurcations, Hopf bifurcations, fold bifurcations on limit cycle, and period doubling bifurcations when state transitions occur. In particular, when the system is in the bistable region, the dynamic state of this region is closely related to the stable limit cycle and stable fixed point. Therefore, feedforward inhibition pathways are indeed involved in the regulation of absence seizures, excitatory connections in both feedforward inhibition pathways are more effective than the inhibitory connections in the control of absence seizures. More interestingly, the feedforward inhibition pathway PY– I slow – I fast has a stronger regulation of absence seizures than PY– I fast – I slow . This paper studies the dynamics of a fractional-order Riccati differential equation with perturbed delay and introduces a novel concept of perturbed delay. The study focuses on understanding the behaviour of the solution through the application of analytical techniques to investigate the existence and uniqueness of the solution and its continuous dependence on initial conditions. Analyses of Hopf bifurcations and the local stability of fixed points are studied. The discrete system is generated by piecewise constant arguments in order to simulate the behaviour of the system under consideration. The local stability analysis of the fixed points of the discrete system is presented. Numerical simulations using bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents and phase diagrams are illustrated. This helps confirm our research and unearth more complex dynamics. The theoretical results of the fractional order Riccati differential equation with delay and its perturbed equation are compared. Our results show that, under specific conditions, the fractional-order Riccati differential equation with perturbed delay exhibits equivalent dynamical properties to the fractional-order Riccati differential equation with delay. Tracing the rapid progress of communication network, the control of dynamic evolution of network has become a central issue. There are a lot of tipping phenomena in network congestion systems. Therefore, tipping control principally centres on traditional control policies, and some advanced control approaches need to be supplemented. In this paper, a fractional-order proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is introduced to a network congestion model to ponder corresponding bifurcation-induced tipping regulation. First, a fractional-order congestion model with fractional-order PID controller is constructed. Then the onset of the tipping induced by Hopf bifurcation of the uncontrolled model is studied. By contrast, the tipping point can be delayed under the controller for the controlled model. Some conditions under which Hopf bifurcation occurs are given. The stable and unstable ranges of control parameters for the controlled model are also deduced. At last, some simulated examples are given to verify the theoretical results and demonstrate the superiority of the controller in tipping regulation. In this paper, we study one type of predator–prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response by incorporating the fear effect into prey species. The existence and stability of all equilibria of the system are studied. And bifurcation behaviors including saddle-node bifurcation, transcritical bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation of the system are completely explored. Photovoltaic (PV) system is the cleanest form of electricity generation, and it is the only form with no effect on the environment at all. However, some environmental challenges persist, which must be overcome before solar energy may be used to represent a source of truly clean energy. This paper aims to study the stability and dynamic behavior of a grid-connected environmentally friendly photovoltaic energy system using the bifurcation theory. This theory introduces a systematic method for stability analysis of dynamic systems, under changes in the system parameters. To produce bifurcation diagrams based on the bifurcation theory, a parameter is constantly changed in each step, using MATLAB and AUTO, and eigenvalues are monitored simultaneously. Considering how the eigenvalues approach the system's imaginary axis in accordance with the changes in the targeted parameter, the occurred saddle-node and Hopf bifurcations of the grid-connected PV system are extracted. Using the obtained bifurcations, the system's dynamic stability limits against changes in controlled (controller coefficients) and systematic parameters (such as the Thevenin impedance network) are found. In this paper, a new four-dimensional (4D) hyperchaotic biplane system is designed and presented. The existence and stability of four equilibria are analyzed. It is proved that the system undergoes Flip bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation around its unique positive equilibrium point using center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. Additionally, by applying small perturbations to the bifurcation parameter, chaotic cases occur at some corresponding internal equilibria. Periodic traveling waves (PTWs, wavetrains) have been extensively used to understand spatiotemporal oscillations observed in a number of field datasets. The aim of this paper is to investigate the existence, period functions and stability of PTWs with large speed in general two component reaction-diffusion systems. We first show the existence of small-amplitude (or large-amplitude) PTWs arising from Hopf bifurcation around a weak focus of order m (or from bifurcation of periodic orbits around a m-fold limit cycle). Second, we give the dominant terms of their period functions, which rarely appear in the existing references. Third, we establish the instability of PTWs in terms of the first-order derivative of their period functions. Our results indicate that the stability of small-amplitude PTWs depends on not only the real parts of the Lyapunov coefficients but also their imaginary parts. The invariant manifold theory developed by Fenichel is applied, along with bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems. In this paper, we consider a diffusive Lotka–Volterra predator–prey system with spatial heterogeneity and two delays. We first show that there exists a nonconstant positive steady state when the diffusion rates of prey and predator are large. Then, we obtain the stability of the steady state and show the existence of a Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, some numerical simulations are provided to illustrate our theoretical results. Subsynchronous oscillation events of grid‐connected voltage source converter (VSC) pose a potential risk to the security and stability of power systems. It is particularly challenging to reveal the subsynchronous oscillation mechanism precisely because the grid‐connected VSC consists of non‐linear components such as saturation. The describing function and the generalized Nyquist criterion are used in this paper to investigate the bifurcation types and dominant parameters of grid‐connected VSC. First, the condition of a supercritical Hopf bifurcation is investigated, which generates subsynchronous oscillations. Then, the dominant parameters of supercritical Hopf bifurcation are deduced, including the grid strength, the active power reference, or the proportional coefficient of phase‐locked loop. Finally, it is examined how the saturation's limit value impacts the limit cycle's amplitude and stability. The findings demonstrate that a system's stability depends on whether its closed‐loop frequency characteristic curve intersects the describing function's negative reciprocal curve. When the two curves intersect, the supercritical Hopf bifurcation appears, and changing the limit value can affect the limit cycle's amplitude. However, if the two curves do not intersect, altering the limit value cannot cause the supercritical Hopf bifurcation, and the subsynchronous oscillation will not happen. Variations in grid strength, active power reference, or proportional coefficient of phase‐locked loop will significantly affect the Nyquist curve, determining if supercritical Hopf bifurcation appears. In this paper, an SIR model with a nonlinear incidence rate is studied. A disease‐free equilibrium E0$$ {E}_0 $$, an endemic equilibrium E1$$ {E}_1 $$, and the basic reproduction number of the model R0$$ {R}_0 $$ are obtained. If R0<1,E0$$ {R}_0&lt;1,{E}_0 $$ is locally asymptotically stable and if R0>1,E1$$ {R}_0&gt;1,{E}_1 $$ is locally asymptotically stable. By Barbalat's lemma, we study the global stability of the model. Transcritical bifurcation analysis is investigated by using the Sotomayor theorem. As the infection rate increases, the asymptotic behavior of the system near E0$$ {E}_0 $$ approaches E1$$ {E}_1 $$ and the system has a transcritical bifurcation. Also, we check the existence of Hopf bifurcation for the given system. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is provided for the basic reproduction number. In this paper, we study the codimension‐two Turing–Hopf bifurcation of a diffusive Holling–Tanner model with nonlocal effect and digestion time delay. The stability, Turing bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation, and Turing–Hopf bifurcation of this model are first investigated. Then, we derive the algorithm for calculating the normal form of Turing–Hopf bifurcation for this model. At last, we carry out some numerical simulations to verify our theoretical analysis results. The stable positive constant steady state and the stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions are found. Furthermore, the evolution process from unstable spatially inhomogeneous steady states to stable positive constant steady state, the evolution process from unstable spatially inhomogeneous steady states to stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions, and the evolution process from one unstable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solution to another stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solution are also found. Infectious diseases continue to be a significant threat to human health and civilization, and finding effective methods to combat them is crucial. In this paper, we investigate the impact of awareness campaigns and optimal control techniques on infectious diseases without proper vaccines. Specifically, we develop an SIRS-type mathematical model that incorporates awareness campaigns through media and treatment for disease transmission dynamics and control. The model displays two equilibria, a disease-free equilibrium and an endemic equilibrium, and exhibits Hopf bifurcation when the bifurcation parameter exceeds its critical value, causing a switch in the stability of the system. We also propose an optimal control problem that minimizes the cost of control measures while achieving a desired level of disease control. By applying the minimum principle to the optimal control problem, we obtain analytical and numerical results that show how the infection rate of the disease affects the stability of the system and how awareness campaigns and treatment can maintain the stability of the system. This study highlights the importance of awareness campaigns in controlling infectious diseases and demonstrates the effectiveness of optimal control theory in achieving disease control with minimal cost. A surge chamber is a common pressure reduction facility in a hydropower plant. Owing to large flow inertia in the upstream headrace tunnel and downstream tailrace tunnel, a hydropower plant with upstream and downstream surge chambers (HPUDSC) was adopted. This paper aimed to investigate the operational stability and nonlinear dynamic behavior of a HPUDSC. Firstly, a nonlinear dynamic model of the HPUDSC system was built. Subsequently, the operational stability and nonlinear dynamic behavior of the HPUDSC system were studied based on Hopf bifurcation theory and numerical simulation. Finally, the influencing factors of stability of the HPUDSC system were investigated. The results indicated the nonlinear HPUDSC system occurred at subcritical Hopf bifurcation, and the stability domain was located above the bifurcation curve, which provided a basis for the tuning of the governor parameters during operation. The dominant factors of stability and dynamic behavior of the HPUDSC system were flow inertia and head loss of the headrace tunnel and the area of the upstream surge chamber. Either increasing the head loss of the headrace tunnel and area of the upstream surge chamber or decreasing the flow inertia of the headrace tunnel could improve the operational stability of the HPUDSC. In this paper, a predator–prey model with prey refuge was developed to investigate how prey refuge affect the dynamics of predator–prey interaction. We studied the existence and stability of equilibria, and then derived the sufficient conditions for the bifurcation such as saddle-node, transcritical, Hopf and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. In addition, a series of numerical simulations were carried out to illustrate the theoretical analysis, and the numerical results are consistent with the analytical results. In this paper, we propose and analyze an age-structured tumor immune model with time delay. We divide immune cells into two kinds. One is those whose growth is independent of tumor and the other is those whose growth depends on the simulation of the tumor. For these cells, their physiological ages are considered. A mature time delay τ is introduced to the tumor-simulation-dependent immune cells to restrict those cells who participate in the immune response to grow to a minimum physiological age. The existence and stability threshold ℜ is established for the tumor-free equilibrium state. If ℜ < 0 , the tumor-free equilibrium state is both locally and globally asymptotically stable. Whereas, when ℜ > 0 , the tumor equilibrium state is locally asymptotically stable if τ ∈ [ 0 , τ k = 0) and a Hopf bifurcation occurs when τ passes through the threshold τ k = 0 . In this paper, we study a delayed host-generalist parasitoid diffusion model subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, where generalist parasitoids are introduced to control the invasion of the hosts. We construct an explicit expression of positive steady-state solution using the implicit function theorem and prove its linear stability. Moreover, by applying feedback time delay τ as the bifurcation parameter, spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation near the positive steady-state solution is proved when τ is varied through a sequence of critical values. This finding implies that feedback time delay can induce spatially inhomogeneous periodic oscillatory patterns. The direction of spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation is forward when parameter m is sufficiently large. We present numerical simulations and solutions to further illustrate our main theoretical results. Numerical simulations show that the period and amplitude of the inhomogeneous periodic solution increase with increasing feedback time delay. Our theoretical analysis results only hold for parameter k when it is sufficiently close to 1, whereas numerical simulations suggest that spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation still occurs when k is larger than 1 but not sufficiently close to 1. Recently, spatial memory and Allee effect have been widely investigated in population models, independently. This paper introduces these two aspects to a predator–prey system, and studies the interaction of two species. Allee effect causes bistability, and the predator-free steady-state is always locally stable. Prey-taxis can play a stable role in positive constant steady-state, and spatial memory delay generates the inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation and even stability switching. In the absence of spatial memory delay, the stronger the predator is subject to the Allee effect, the larger the prey-taxis coefficient is required to keep two species coexist in a stable spatially homogenous form. With the same prey-taxis coefficient, the critical threshold of spatial memory delay corresponding to large predator diffusion coefficient is distinctly bigger than the one corresponding to small predator diffusion coefficient. This paper proposes a fractional-order model of glucose–insulin interaction. In Caputo's meaning, the fractional derivative is defined. This model arises in Bergman's minimal model, used to describe blood glucose and insulin metabolism, after intravenous tolerance testing. We showed that the established model has existence, uniqueness, non-negativity, and boundedness of fractional-order model solutions. The model's local and global stability was investigated. The parametric conditions under which a Hopf bifurcation occurs in the positive steady state for a proposed model are studied. Moreover, we present a numerical treatment for solving the proposed fractional model using the generalized Euler method (GEM). The model's local stability and Hopf bifurcation of the proposed model in sense of the GEM are presented. In this paper, we show the existence of a Hopf bifurcation in a delayed single population model with patch structure. The effect of the dispersal rate on the Hopf bifurcation is considered. Especially, if each patch is favorable for the species, we show that when the dispersal rate tends to zero, the limit of the Hopf bifurcation value is the minimum of the "local" Hopf bifurcation values over all patches. In this paper, we investigate pattern dynamics in a reaction‐diffusion‐chemotaxis food chain model with predator‐taxis, which extends previous studies of reaction‐diffusion food chain model. By virtue of diffusion semigroup theory, we first prove global classical solvability and boundedness for the considered model over a bounded domain Ω⊂ℝn(n≥1)$$ \Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}}&amp;#x0005E;n\kern0.1em \left(n\ge 1\right) $$ with smooth boundary for arbitrary predator‐taxis sensitivity coefficient. Then the linear stability analysis for the considered model shows that chemotaxis can induce the losing of stability of the unique positive spatially homogeneous steady state via Turing bifurcation and Turing‐spatiotemporal Hopf bifurcation. These bifurcations results in the formation of two kinds of important spatiotemporal patterns: stationary Turing pattern and oscillatory pattern. Simultaneously, the threshold values for Turing bifurcation and Turing‐spatiotemporal Hopf bifurcation are given explicitly. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to illustrate and support our theoretical findings, and some interesting non‐Turing patterns are found in temporal Hopf parameter space by numerical simulation.
