This paper proposes a new method to improve re performance of intra-field interpolation which is the mos~ important element of deinterlacing method. Traditional edge- based methods were poor at determining accurate edge iirection which decides interpolation performance. The 7roposed method decides the direction and slope of edge based on locally adaptive-thresholded binary image to mprove efficiency and accuracy, and it also increased the ~orizontal size of search window to 15 for better direction ietermination at gentle slope. Compared to traditional edge- based methods, interpolation based on binary image, which is ,`enerated using the proposed method, leads to great erformance improvement. Abstract  In this paper, a filled function method for solving constrained global optimization problems is proposed. A filled function is proposed for escaping the current local minimizer of a constrained global optimization problem by combining the idea of filled function in unconstrained global optimization and the idea of penalty function in constrained optimization. Then a filled function method for obtaining a global minimizer or an approximate global minimizer of the constrained global optimization problem is presented. Abstract: Two-dimensional axially moving materials have a wide range of industrial applications such as papers, plastics and composites in producing lines, power transmission and conveyor belts, etc. In many of these instances, the moving material is not isotropic, but is a single-layer orthotropic material or consists of several orthotropic layers. In this article, free vibration of axially moving symmetrically laminated plates subjected to in-plan forces is studied by classical plate theory. This category includes symmetric cross-ply and angle-ply laminates and anisotropic plates. Firstly, an exact method is developed to analyze vibration of multi-span traveling cross-ply laminates, and then a semi-analytical finite strip method is extended for moving symmetric laminated plates in general, with arbitrary boundary conditions. By the finite strip method intermediate elastic or rigid supports can also be added to the model of the moving plate. The supports may be in the form of point, line or local distributed supports. This paper presents a stabilized meshfree method formulated based on the strong formulation and local approximation using radial basis functions (RBFs). The purpose of this paper is two folds. First, a regularization procedure is developed for stabilizing the solution of the radial point collocation method (RPCM). Second, an adaptive scheme using the stabilized RPCM and residual based error indicator is established. It has been shown in this paper that the features of the meshfree strong-form method can facilitated an easier implementation of adaptive analysis. A new error indicator based on the residual is devised and used in this work. As shown in the numerical examples, the new error indicator can reflect the quality of the local approximation and the global accuracy of the solution. This article introduces a team-based model of researchers in a specialty and investigates the manifestation of such teams in a specialty's literature. The proposed qualitative behavioral model, with its mathematical expression as a growth model, is significant because it simultaneously describes the two phenomena of collaboration and author productivity (Lotka's law) in a specialty. The model is nested: A team process models the creation of research teams and the success-breeds-success process of their production of articles, while at a lower level the productivity of authors within teams is also modeled as a success-breeds-success process. Interteam collaboration (weak ties) is modeled as random events. This simple growth model is shown to faithfully mimic six network metrics of bipartite article-author networks. The model is demonstrated on three example article collections from specialties that have a wide range of degree of collaboration: (a) a distance education collection with low collaboration degree, (b) a complex networks collection with typical collaboration degree, and (c) an atrial ablation collection with heavy collaboration degree. Abstract??We study a multiple-succedent sequent calculus with both of the structural rules Left Weakening and Left Contraction but neither of their counterparts on the right, for possible application to the treatment of multiplicative disjunction (fission, ?cotensor?,par) against the background of intuitionistic logic. We find that, as Hirokawa dramatically showed in a 1996 paper with respect to the rules for implication, the rules for this connective render derivable some new structural rules, even though, unlike the rules for implication, these rules are what we callipsilateral: applying such a rule does not make any (sub)formula change sides?from the left to the right of the sequent separator or vice versa. Abstract: In the present paper, a description and mathematical analysis of a simple model of nonlinear pattern formation is given. The model is based on the so-called activator-inhibitor system proposed by Thomas. We introduce time delay into the reaction term and focus on its influence on morphogenesis and pattern formation.
