The purpose of this study is to determine how the workload and work motivation of employees on the performance of PT X employees and determine the effect both partially and simultaneously. This study used quantitative associative analysis which was used to determine the influence of the independent variable with the dependent variable. The sample of this study used a saturated sample of 57 employees of PT X sales department with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with SPSS 27 software. The results showed that partially workload had a negative effect on employee performance and work motivation had a positive effect on employee performance. Employee evaluation at the University of KH Bahaudin Mudhary Madura currently uses a separate method for giving assessments. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the influence of transformational leadership style and job transfers on employee performance at BPJS Employment. The population in this study is all permanent employees of BPJS Employment, South Sumatra regional office in 2022-2023, totaling 100 employees. In this research, the respondents in this research are all 100 permanent employees at BPJS Employment in 2022-2023 and all of them are the number of respondents in this research using the census technique method. The results of multiple linear analysis show that transformational leadership style and job transfer have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This study explores the contributions of different dimensions of the intellectual capital of higher education institutions (ICHEIs) to their performance, incorporating the previously unexplored dimension of quality of life (QoL) as a performance measure, and correspondingly taking into account the connection between the Theory of Stakeholders and the Theory of Legitimacy. Applying a Structural Equation Model and the Partial Least Squares method, we present new empirical findings from a sample of 738 students and 587 lecturers/researchers from seven Portuguese public HEIs. The ICHEIs positively influence the institution's performance, through relational capital and structural capital; and QoL emerges as an important dimension of HEIs' performance standards, especially regarding students' perception of academic QoL. When HEIs understand and measure their IC, they will gain a better understanding of their core competencies, enabling a better allocation of resources and implementation of more effective strategic and operational actions. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of competence, cooperation, and organizational climate on employee performance mediated by work motivation (a study in the food and agriculture office clump work unit in Merauke Regency). The research uses a quantitative research approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method. The research sample as many as 117 employees were selected from Civil Servants (PNS) as structural or implementing officials, not as Field Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL) or civil servants who were not on duty in the unit. The data comes from the answers to the questionnaire according to the employee's perception. The results of the questionnaire were tabulated and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using the SmartPLS application. The results of the analysis prove that competence has a significant effect on performance, competence has an effect on work motivation, and motivation mediates the influence of competence on employee performance. Cooperation has no effect on performance, but has an effect on motivation and work motivation mediates the effect of cooperation on employee performance. Organizational climate does not affect employee performance but organizational climate affects work motivation and work motivation mediates the relationship between organizational climate and employee performance. Motivation has a significant effect on performance. The results of the study have implications for competence and motivation that need to be improved in order to improve employee performance. Motivation variable affects performance by 48.6% and competence affects performance by 28.2%. Increasing work motivation can be done by increasing cooperation and organizational climate. This study aimed to determine the performance and factors that affect the performance of employees (caregivers) at IPDN North Sulawesi Campus. The research used a qualitative approach, while the data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study were the Head of the Civil Service Administration, the Head of the Parenting Subdivision, the employees (caregivers), and the IPDN Praja North Sulawesi Campus. In general, the results of this research are; 1) The performance of employees (caregivers) of IPDN North Sulawesi Campus is in a reasonably good category, this is based on the results of research where from five employee performance indicators, there are still two indicators included in the good enough category, namely “service orientation and work discipline, 2) Factors that affect the performance of employees (caregivers) of IPDN North Sulawesi Campus, there are four namely a) HR development, b) work motivation, c) supervision and d) work environment. It can also be seen that of the four factors that affect employee performance, only one factor supports the performance of IPDN North Sulawesi Campus employees, namely the work environment. There are over 80 countries in the world that currently use some kind of energy label for electric household appliances. In Europe, as an example, a lot of appliances are obliged to have an energy label when shown for sale, including online. Energy labels give relevant information to the consumers to help them make an environmentally beneficial choice when buying a new appliance. However, the desire for an energy efficient appliance does not outweigh the wish for good performance. Therefore, some energy labels provide information about the performance of the appliance based on international performance measurement standards (hereafter: "international standards"). Indeed, within the one appliance, increased performance can often mean increased energy consumption, so a balance between these parameters needs to be made by product designers and users. Unlike measurements that are traceable to Systeme Internationale units through metrological traceability chains, there is no natural reference data for performance measurements. Therefore, some international standards use a reference machine to relate their testing results to. The comparison of test and reference machine eliminates variances, for example, due to the auxiliary materials used and the influence of manual preparation or assessment methods. Three international standards that are currently using reference machines are examined closely in this paper. It is assessed how the reference machines and their testing results are treated, whether the reference machines are comparable with their corresponding test machines and if the use of a reference machine can be considered beneficial for the testing procedure. Additionally, three key questions are developed that will indicate whether 13 other international standards for electric household appliances could also benefit from using a reference machine. • We compared the performance of the STANDARD F and SD BIOLINE stool antigen tests. • The STANDARD F and SD BIOLINE assays showed comparable sensitivity and specificity. • The STANDARD F assay is useful for detection of Helicobacter pylori infection. Landslide early warning systems (LEWS) can be categorized into two groups: territorial and local systems. Territorial landslide early warning systems (Te-LEWS) deal with the occurrence of several landslides in wide areas: at municipal/regional/national scale. The aim of such systems is to forecast the increased probability of landslide occurrence in a given warning zone. The performance evaluation of such systems is often overlooked, and a standardized procedure is still missing. This paper describes a new Excel user-friendly tool for the application of the EDuMaP method, originally proposed by (Calvello and Piciullo 2016). A description of indicators used for the performance evaluation of different Te-LEWS is provided, and the most useful ones have been selected and implemented into the tool. The EDuMaP tool has been used for the performance evaluation of the "SMART" warning model operating in Piemonte region, Italy. The analysis highlights the warning zones with the highest performance and the ones that need threshold refinement. A comparison of the performance of the SMART model with other models operating in different Te-LEWS has also been carried out, highlighting critical issues and positive aspects. Lastly, the SMART performance has been evaluated with both the EDuMaP and a standard 2 × 2 contingency table for comparison purposes. The result highlights that the latter approach can lead to an imprecise and not detailed assessment of the warning model, because it cannot differentiate among the levels of warning and the variable number of landslides that may occur in a time interval. Goals are central to exercise motivation, although not all goals (e.g., health vs. appearance goals) are equally psychologically or behaviorally adaptive. Within goal content theory (Vansteenkiste, Niemiec, & Soenens, 2010), goals are adaptive to the extent to which they satisfy psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness. However, little is known about what exercisers pursuing different goals are feeling, doing, thinking, and paying attention to that may help to explain the association between goal contents and need satisfaction. Using semistructured interviews and interpretative phenomenological analysis, we explored experiences of exercise among 11 adult exercisers who reported pursuing either predominantly intrinsic or extrinsic goals. Four themes emerged: (a) observation of others and resulting emotions, (b) goal expectations and time perspective, (c) markers of progress and (d) reactions to (lack of) goal achievement. Intrinsic and extrinsic goal pursuers reported divergent experiences within these four domains. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between resources and performance, and the invariance of the HEalthy & Resilient Organizations model (HERO) depending on physical exercise. Moreover, the study examines whether there are differences in the perception of these variables based on workout and gender. The sample consisted of 319 employees (156 sedentary and 163 non-sedentary employees). The results show that engagement mediates between resources and performance in both groups, which demonstrates the invariance of the model. Additionally, the findings revealed that, generally speaking, non-sedentary people are more empathetic and more absorbed in their job tasks and, specifically, that non-sedentary men are more empathetic and more vigorous at work than sedentary men. No differences were found between sedentary and non-sedentary women. Finally, regarding gender differences in variables, women are more empathetic and have better performance than men. Purpose: Recently, updated EARL specifications (EARL2) have been developed and announced. This study aims at investigating the impact of the EARL2 specifications on the quantitative reads of clinical PET–CT studies and testing a method to enable the use of the EARL2 standards whilst still generating quantitative reads compliant with current EARL standards (EARL1). Methods: Thirteen non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and seventeen lymphoma PET–CT studies were used to derive four image datasets—the first dataset complying with EARL1 specifications and the second reconstructed using parameters as described in EARL2. For the third (EARL2F6) and fourth (EARL2F7) dataset in EARL2, respectively, 6 mm and 7 mm Gaussian post-filtering was applied. We compared the results of quantitative metrics (MATV, SUVmax, SUVpeak, SUVmean, TLG, and tumor-to-liver and tumor-to-blood pool ratios) obtained with these 4 datasets in 55 suspected malignant lesions using three commonly used segmentation/volume of interest (VOI) methods (MAX41, A50P, SUV4). Results: We found that with EARL2 MAX41 VOI method, MATV decreases by 22%, TLG remains unchanged and SUV values increase by 23–30% depending on the specific metric used. The EARL2F7 dataset produced quantitative metrics best aligning with EARL1, with no significant differences between most of the datasets (p>0.05). Different VOI methods performed similarly with regard to SUV metrics but differences in MATV as well as TLG were observed. No significant difference between NSCLC and lymphoma cancer types was observed. Conclusions: Application of EARL2 standards can result in higher SUVs, reduced MATV and slightly changed TLG values relative to EARL1. Applying a Gaussian filter to PET images reconstructed using EARL2 parameters successfully yielded EARL1 compliant data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Performance at one's highest personal level is often accompanied by a palpable, yet enigmatic sensation that many athletes refer to as the zone. Competitive athletes regularly acknowledge that their top performances are dependent on achieving a zone state of performance. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technologies were used in observing differing patterns of neural activation that occur among athletes during a hypnotically recalled zone-state performance of eight accomplished, competitive right-handed archers. These data were compared to each participant's respective fMRI data of a hypnotically assisted recall of a normal performance. Analysis of composite group data revealed significant (p = 0.05) neural activation of zone performance (ZP) over normal performance (NP), suggesting that performance in a zone state involves identifiable characteristics of neural processing. Perhaps this investigation might stimulate additional, more creative research in identifying a psychophysiological indicator of the zone phenomenon that would provide adequate justification for a training regimen providing a more reliable and sustained zone performance. It is also considered one of the important factors for job attitude. As it has been considered and supported by researches that job security creates job satisfaction and job satisfaction has positive relationship with performance. This research explored relationship between job security and job performance of employees in organization. The sample consists of 60 employees from nine organizations of District Badin (Private, Public & NGOs), convenient sampling technique was used. Close-ended Questionnaire was divided in two portions, the first portion comprises on 6 items about job security that was filled by employees, and the second portion consists of 15 items about job performance and was filled by their bosses afterward. Data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0 in terms of Descriptive Statistics and Pearson Correlation. Non-confirmed employees are performing better as compared to confirmed employees due to fear of loss of job at any time as they believe that performance causes to get a job secured. Abstract Background Magnetic Resonance linear accelerator (MR-linac) systems represent a new type of technology that allows for online MR-guidance for high precision radiotherapy (RT). Currently, the first MR-linac installations are being introduced clinically. Since the imaging performance of these integrated MR-linac systems is critical for their application, a thorough commissioning of the MRI performance is essential. However, guidelines on the commissioning of MR-guided RT systems are not yet defined and data on the performance of MR-linacs are not yet available. Materials & methods Here we describe a comprehensive commissioning protocol, which contains standard MRI performance measurements as well as dedicated hybrid tests that specifically assess the interactions between the Linac and the MRI system. The commissioning results of four MR-linac systems are presented in a multi-center study. Results Although the four systems showed similar performance in all the standard MRI performance tests, some differences were observed relating to the hybrid character of the systems. Field homogeneity measurements identified differences in the gantry shim configuration, which was later confirmed by the vendor. Conclusion Our results highlight the importance of dedicated hybrid commissioning tests and the ability to compare the machines between institutes at this very early stage of clinical introduction. Until formal guidelines and tolerances are defined the tests described in this study may be used as a practical guideline. The study examined how intrinsic and extrinsic rewards affected employee performance at the Nasarawa State Water Board (NSWB) in Lafia. Information for the study were collected through secondary sources (text books, official records, journal publications) and through field survey using questionnaire and interview as instruments. Analyses of the data revealed that though job satisfaction at the NSWB impacted positively on the performance of employees of the agency, it cannot be effectively achieved through hygiene factors alone. The paper therefore recommends, among others that the agency should give more attention to financial rewards to enable staff of the organization to meet their primary needs for maximum job satisfaction and consequently employee performance. BackgroundThis paper considers the role of collaborative enquiry as a means of developing equity in education. The context was a collaborative project in which a university was supporting local schools in carrying out enquiry into their practice, with the purpose of moving the practice towards greater equity. PurposeThe research question addressed is as follows: What characterises and explains teachers’ different and changing perspectives in a process of enquiry directed towards more equitable schooling? SampleParticipants were teachers involved in a systematic process of collaborative action research in the north-west of England. Design and methodsDuring an 11-month period, spanning a school year, the authors engaged with teachers, supporting enquiry processes. Teachers’ perspectives were explored as they participated in this enquiry network. The study design was ethnographic, with tools introduced to generate systematic data within the process. In particular, five months into the process, 16 of the teachers were invited to participate in an activity based on Q-sort methodology. They were asked to rank, and comment on, statements which described how they might be thinking about, and responding to, the enquiry process. ResultsAnalysis of the ways that teachers sorted the cards led to identification of four groups of participants: (1) those focused on practice, (2) research, (3) collaboration and (4) those feeling themselves to be outsiders to the process. As the two dominant perspectives were ‘practice’ and ‘research’ (groups 1 and 2), two contrasting case studies were then developed in order to explore the perspectives in more detail. While the initial questions generated by the participants arose out of their existing development plans, and both aimed to contribute to equity in the school, analysis showed that the processes in the two schools differed and suggested that teachers’ experience of enquiry in the two case studies was also different, both in terms of the ways they were empowered to consider their own work critically, and the contexts in which they worked. ConclusionsEnquiry can work as a tool, offering teachers a way of tackling a problem. The study showed that using porous media expanded the area of heat transfer and thus increased the thermal efficiency and temperature of the exit air from the hybrid solar collector. The compound efficiency was increased (3%) after using the porous medium in the lower ducts of the double-pass hybrid collector. At the same time, the pressure drop was increased after using the porous media. In this analysis, it was concluded that the hybrid solar collector with porous media and glass cover is more thermally efficient than the other design form. The results showed a rise in the electrical efficiency with the increase of the fluid flow rate. This increase in the value of the electrical efficiency was due to the higher volumetric air flow which enhanced the PV panel cooling. Also, the results displayed that fixing a glass layer on the hybrid collector caused the rise in thermal efficiency and reduction in the electrical efficiency of the hybrid collector. The highest value for the daily thermal efficiency was 80.23% in the collector that used porous media and glass cover, while the higher value for the thermal efficiency was 51.25% without porous media and glass cover. Also, the highest value for the daily electrical efficiency was 8.7% in the collector that used porous media and the higher value for the daily electrical efficiency was 10.91% without porous media and without glass cover. We investigated whether individualistic and collectivistic cultural values influence the extent to which raters consider task, citizenship (OCB), and counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) when evaluating overall employee performance. Participants completed a managerial role-play exercise in which they read employee performance vignettes and rated the overall performance of each employee. A relative weights approach was used to determine to what extent raters considered task, OCB, and CWB information when evaluating employee performance. Results indicated that as compared to individualistic raters, collectivistic raters placed higher weights on OCBs and less weight on task performance when assigning an overall performance rating. However, contrary to expectations, collectivistic raters did not place significantly higher weights on CWBs as compared to individualistic raters. A frequently reported finding is that general mental ability (GMA) is the best single psychological predictor of job performance. Furthermore, specific abilities often add little incremental validity beyond GMA, suggesting that they are not useful for predicting job performance criteria once general intelligence is accounted for. We review these findings and their historical background, along with different approaches to studying the relative influence of g and narrower abilities. Then, we discuss several recent studies that used relative importance analysis to study this relative influence and that found that specific abilities are equally good, and sometimes better, predictors of work performance than GMA. The purpose of this descriptive study is to evaluate the performance of healthcare professionals and determine differences according to some socio-demographic factors if any. The study is carried out on the personnel working in medical institutions in Bingöl Province and 105 people are reached. Survey method is used in the study. The first part contains 6 articles to determine the sociodemographic characteristics and the second part contains 25 articles to determine the employee performance. SPSS 22.0 software is used to analyze the data and frequency analysis, T-Test and Mann-Whitney-U test are used. The average score of the employee performance survey is found as 45,06±10,95 and it is evaluated that the performance of the participants is below average. In addition, no statistically significant difference is found in the employee performance score averages according to socio-demographic factors. It is considered that interventions should be made to increase the employee performance and awareness should be raised among health management authorities in relation to the matter. Romania has done significant progress regarding implementing European Directives on Value Added Tax, although certain notions have been taken over without adapting them to the Romanian economic environment, as well as disconnecting fiscality from accounting. Yet, current fiscal regulations don't meet the requirements of an optimal fiscal system every time, as it is considered in economic theory. The principle of stability, for example, doesn't belong to Romanian fiscal system and as far as simplicity is concern there is none, especially regarding VAT. Furthermore, the definition of terms used in the legislation involves a critical appreciation, justified by the fact that in some cases, the attempt to define certain terms, entails the need to address other terms. This shortfall is the result of the hurried takeover of terms from the European legislation that are "indigestible" for an adaptation of the language and customs of national conditions in the field. Background: Non-technical skills (NTS) are essential for safe and efficient anaesthesia. Assessment instruments with appropriate validity evidence can be used to ensure that anaesthesiologists possess the NTS necessary to deliver high-standard patient care. The aims were to collect validity evidence using a contemporary validity framework for the assessment instrument Anaesthesiologists' Non-Technical Skills in Denmark (ANTSdk) regarding response process and internal structure (including reliability), and to investigate the effect of rater training on these properties. Methods: An explorative study was undertaken at the Danish Institute for Medical Simulation, Copenhagen, Denmark. In a 1-day session, using ANTSdk, a convenience sample of 19 anaesthesiologists rated trainee anaesthesiologists' NTS in nine video-recorded simulation scenarios before and after a 3-h training session. Results: Response process evidence: participants considered ANTSdk useful and feasible for NTS assessment. Internal structure evidence: inter-rater reliability (single measures) largely expressed substantial agreement (ICC ≥ 0.55 and ICC ≥ 0.60 for pre- and post-training ratings respectively). Strong internal consistency of ratings was found (Spearman's correlation coefficient ≥ 0.82). Accuracy of participants' ratings compared with reference ratings (± 1 scale point) was notable (76% and 78% for pre- and post-training ratings, respectively). The results indicate that the elements 'Demonstrating self-awareness', 'Reassessing decisions', 'Assessing competencies', and 'Supporting others' need more attention in future rater training. Conclusion: The validity evidence collected on content, response process, and internal structure, suggests that ANTSdk is easy to use on video-recorded simulation scenarios, indicating that ANTSdk is a feasible instrument for NTS assessment during anaesthesia training. Background: There is increasing global interest in how best to support the role of community health workers (CHWs) in building bridges between communities and the health sector. CHWs' intermediary position means that interpersonal relationships are an important factor shaping CHW performance. This study aimed to obtain in-depth insight into the facilitators of and barriers to interpersonal relationships between health surveillance assistants (HSAs) and actors in the community and health sector in hard-to-reach settings in two districts in Malawi, in order to inform policy and practice on optimizing HSA performance.Methods: The study followed a qualitative design. Forty-four semi-structured interviews and 16 focus group discussions were conducted with HSAs, different community members and managers in Mchinji and Salima districts. Data were recorded, transcribed, translated, coded and thematically analysed.Results: HSAs had relatively strong interpersonal relationships with traditional leaders and volunteers, who were generally supportive of their work. From the health sector side, HSAs linked to health professionals and managers, but found them less supportive. Accountability structures at the community level were not well-established and those within the health sector were executed irregularly. Mistrust from the community, volunteers or HSAs regarding incentives and expectations that could not be met by "higher levels" undermined support structures and led to demotivation and hampered performance. Supervision and training were sometimes a source of mistrust and demotivation for HSAs, because of the perceived disinterest of supervisors, uncoordinated supervision and favouritism in selection of training participants. Rural HSAs were seen as more disadvantaged than HSAs in urban areas.Conclusions: HSAs' intermediary position necessitates trusting relationships between them and all actors within the community and the health sector. There is a need to improve support and accountability structures that facilitate communication and dialogue, increase trust and manage expectations and thereby improve interpersonal relationships between HSAs and actors in the community and health sector. This would maximize the value of HSAs' unique intermediary position and support them to deliver equitable health services. As a core component of a hydropower station, hydro turbines play a vital role in the integration of a power station. Research on the technology of hydro turbine is continuously increasing with the development of water electricity. It is effective and successful to design a Francis turbine runner blade with good performance by one-dimensional hydraulic design method. For the one-dimensional hydraulic design, the runner blade angle at leading and trailing edges can be defined by calculation of Euler's head. Design of the runner blade profile at several cross sections is needed to design a runner shape. In this study, there are three different blade loadings conducted to compare the internal flow characteristics and performance. Experimental investigations were carried out in a single cylinder, four stroke, air cooled direct injection (DI) diesel engine, fuelled with bioethanol diethyl ether blend, adopting the fumigation technique. Bioethanol produced by the fermentation of cooked rice blended with 25%, 50% and 75% of diethyl ether was used as an alternative fuel in this investigation. With the help of a fuel vaporiser and a microprocessor controlled injector, bioethanol was fumigated at 0.20, 0.40, 0.60 and 1.2 kg/h flow rate in the suction. The results of the combustion, performance and emissions of the engine, running with the bioethanol fumigation, were compared with those from the diesel fuelled operation. The results indicated that, at full load, the bioethanol fumigation exhibited an overall longer ignition delay of 2-3 CA for all the flow rates in comparison with diesel. Bioethanol fumigation at the flow rate of 0.48 kg/h gave a better performance and lower emissions than that of other flow rates. The maximum brake specific nitric oxide and smoke emissions were found to be lower, by about 24.2% and 25% in the bioethanol fumigation, compared to that of diesel operation at full load. Purpose – Using the mutual gains model as a framework, the purpose of this paper is to explore the important issue of mutuality in employment relationships. Design/methodology/approach – This study uses a sample of 215 New Zealand professionals to assess the relationships between commitment-oriented HRM practice, work intensification, work-life balance (WLB) and task and contextual performance. Findings – The authors find commitment-oriented HRM practice does not intensify the work experiences of professionals, but nor does it contribute positively to the achievement of WLB. Both these well-being types do, however, contribute to explaining professionals’ task and contextual performance outcomes. Research limitations/implications – The findings suggest current narrow interpretations of well-being need to be revisited, with the meaning of well-being, its measurement and its role in delivering performance outcomes afforded greater attention within HRM studies. Practical implications – A primary goal of managers is to deliver optimum performance outcomes. For professionals, the research suggests an important means to achieving this is by promoting positive well-being. Originality/value – This study offers some important insights into the role mutuality plays in influencing performance outcomes. Ergonomics interventions have the potential to improve operational performance and employee well-being. We introduce a framework for ergonomics climate , the extent to which an organization emphasizes and supports the design and modification of work to maximize both performance and well-being outcomes. We assessed ergonomics climate at a large manufacturing facility twice during a two-year period. When the organization used ergonomics to promote performance and well-being equally, and at a high level, employees reported less work-related pain. A larger discrepancy between measures of operational performance and employee well-being was associated with increased reports of work-related pain. The direction of this discrepancy was not significantly related to work-related pain, such that it didn't matter which facet was valued more. The Ergonomics Climate Assessment can provide companies with a baseline assessment of the overall value placed on ergonomics and help prioritize areas for improving operational performance and employee well-being. Palm oil diesel (POD) is derived from palm oil using an esterification process. POD has similar physicochemical properties to fossil diesel, and this allows POD to be the primary substitute to diesel. However, existing research has found that the combustion of POD in CI engines produce lower performance standards than pure diesel. This is due to POD having a higher viscosity, density and presence of heavier molecules resulting in poor evaporation and mixing with the air leading to higher brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and reduced power. This research aims to observe the fuel spray behaviors inside the combustion chamber and corelate these with the lower performance of POD than diesel. POD is tested at 100% (B100) and, blended with diesel at a ratio of 50/50 (B50) by volume to reduce the viscosity. The study of spray properties in real engines is expensive and difficult, with most studies being performed in constant volume transparent chambers using Mie-scattering and Schlieren imaging techniques. Therefore, the engine simulation is conducted using ANSYS Forte software to observe the in-cylinder spray behaviors. A 26-kW diesel engine used in a generator is modelled using SolidWorks with respective performance parameters noted from simulation data. The CHEMKIN-PRO software is used to create POD by solving thousands of reaction combinations. Spray analysis of fuels shows longer penetration lengths with POD, higher Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) and heavier mass of fuel molecules than diesel. Previous work has examined how technology can support health behavior monitoring in social contexts. These tools incentivize behavior documentation through the promise of virtual rewards, rich visualizations, and improved co-management of disease. Social influence is leveraged to motivate improved behaviors through friendly competition and the sharing of emotional and informational support. Prior work has described how by documenting and sharing behaviors in these tools, people engage in performances of the self. This performance happens as users selectively determine what information to share and hide, crafting a particular portrayal of their identity. Much of the prior work in this area has examined the implications of systems that encourage people to share their behaviors with friends, family, and geographically distributed strangers. In this paper, we report upon the performative nature of behavior sharing in a system created for a different social group: the local neighborhood. We designed Community Mosaic (CM), a system with a collectivistic focus: this tool asks users to document their behaviors using photographs and text, but not for their own benefit-for the benefit of others in their community. Through a 6-week deployment of CM, we evaluated the nature of behavior sharing in this system, including participants' motivations for sharing, the way in which this sharing happened, and the reflexive impact of sharing. Our findings highlight the performative aspects of photograph staging and textual narration and how sharing this content led participants to become more aware and evaluative of their behaviors, and led them to try to eat more healthfully. We conclude with recommendations for behavior monitoring tools, specifically examining the implications of users' perceived audience and automated behavioral tracking on opportunities for reflection- through- performance. Interacting with public displays involves more than what happens between individuals and the system; it also concerns how people experience others around and through those displays. In this paper, we use 'performance' as an analytical lens for understanding experiences with a public display called rhythIMs and explore how displays shift social interaction through their mediation. By performance, we refer to a situation in which people are on display and orient themselves toward an audience that may be co-located, imagined, or virtual. To understand interaction with public displays, we use two related notions of collectives-audiences and groups-to highlight the ways in which people orient to each other through public displays. Drawing examples from rhythIMs, a public display that shows patterns of instant messaging and physical presence, we demonstrate that there can be multiple, heterogeneous audiences and show how people experience these different types of collectives in various ways. By taking a performance perspective, we are able to understand how audiences that were not physically co-present with participants still influenced participants' interpretations and interactions with rhythIMs. This extension of the traditional notion of audience illuminates the roles audiences can play in a performance. The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence of the quality of reception, attack tempo, and block type on attack efficacy and attack type in high-level women's volleyball. Eighteen matches from the Brazilian Women's Superleague 2011/2012 were analysed (n=2,348 attack actions). Multinomial logistic regression was applied to construct models predicting the influence of explanatory variables on the attack efficacy and attack type. The results showed that attack errors were associated to double block (OR=1.48), while attacks resulting in action continuity were associated with double block (OR=1.40) and triple block (OR=1.97). Receptions affording all attack options (OR=0.54) and powerful attacks (OR=0.34) reduced game continuity. In conclusion, attack tempo was negatively correlated with the quality of settings, suggesting that slower attack tempos afford the attacker more time to prepare and to create momentum for performing the action. Contemporary Paganism portrays gender in an array of different ways and, as such, is very inclusive of sexual diversity. But how do queer people take part in the Pagan community? More precisely, what kind of efforts or changes do queer and transgender people have to make in order to relate to the Pagan community? To answer these questions, this article examines how queer and transgender people proceed to different kinds of negotiations, especially regarding the concept of gender, that allow them to either participate actively in the Pagan community or to distance themselves from it. After a brief definition of the Pagan community in Montreal and its take on gender, it will demonstrate, with the help of certain concepts from queer studies and performance studies, how a few queer individuals perform gender in ritual context and how gender and queerness impact their relationship with Pagan religious beliefs, practices and communities. The purpose of this study is to research how Chinese university students solve information-based problems. With the Search Performance Index as the measure of search success, participants were divided into high, medium and low-performing groups. Based on their web search logs, these three groups were compared along five dimensions of the search process for answers to the assigned tasks: frequency counts of different activities during search process, time allocation on each search activity, search patterns, search query as well as selection of information. The results documented students' varying abilities to search. The key factor that determines search performance is the effective use of search queries. Successful searchers made use of advanced search options such as extracting relevant and effective key terms from further reading, in contrast with simpler strategies by unsuccessful searchers like adding, removing unimportant words, or using synonyms. High-performing students also showed more monitoring awareness and strategy, such as changing search engines, reformulation of existing search queries as well as backtracking to task questions.
