The present study was carried out between April-2017 and September-2018 in Mardin Province with the aim of determination of the species of family Dytiscidae (Predaceous diving beetles). A total of 1414 dytiscid specimens were collected from 34 different localities and identified. Totally 28 species in 14 genera of family Dytiscidae were recorded. Türkiye is the second-largest honey producer globally; however, the export of honey and bee products does not adequately support the beekeeping industry. Pests account for the largest share of expenditure for agents found in honeybees in the country. Although the Small Hive Beetle (SHB) has not been detected in Türkiye, a risk assessment was performed to determine what happens if it enters the country. The risk assessment included: a) hazard identification; b) risk pathway determination; c) risk assessment for entry via the identified pathways; and d) outcome assessment for becoming endemic in Türkiye. The Risk AMP add-in program was used to assess the probability of distribution for each method of entry, pathway, and simulation. According to the simulations, the probability of SHB introduction in Türkiye varies from 0.17 per 1000 events/days (1.7 per 10000 days or 27 years) to 0.6 per 1000 events/imports (6 per 10000 days or 27 years). The highest likelihood of introduction comes from fruit import (11/15) and soil/compost import (4/15). The mean probability of introducing SHB infestation after 1000 iterations of the constructed model is 0.37 per 1000 events/days (3.7 within 10000 days or 27 years). Finally, the simulated average cost of SHB after the possible introduction is 523 million US $ for Türkiye. Turkey is the second largest honey producer in the world. However, the beekeeping sector, especially the export of honey and honey products, is not supported by income compatible with this asset. The main reasons for this discrepancy are the presence of honey bee diseases (predators) and their residues in honey. Due to the observation of Aethina tumida (small hive beetle; SHB) in Europe (Italy) and Tropilealaps spp. Iran’s border regions close to Turkey, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey has raised its alert level for these two notifiable diseases. Aethina tumida is a fruit insect originally from South Africa and it has later adapted to bee colonies. In the early 2000s, the agent came to North America with imported fruits and caused serious bee losses. SHB, which has spread to 12 countries so far, caused serious economic losses in the countries it entered and could not be eliminated. Tropilaelaps spp. is an ectoparasite that cannot survive for long without honey bee brood it feeds on and needs to survive. Tropilaelaps mite even suppresses Varroa when found in a colony and extinguishes the colony in a short time. It is a fact that these two pests may spread rapidly in Turkey due to the practice of migratory beekeeping and they can cause serious damage to our beekeeping. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new record of the Hydrophilids, Enochrus calabricus (Ferro, 1986), is recorded from central Anatolia (Kayseri, Turkey). The ecological findings and morphological characters of the species are described and its aedeagus figure illustrated. A new record of hydrophilid beetle, Helochares sharpi Kuwert, 1890 is presented. Distribution of Laccobius siniatus Motschulsky, 1849 in Turkey was confirmed. However, Coelostoma transcaspicum Reitter, 1906 was recorded secondly from Turkey. General description, distributional data and photos of its aedeagophores have also been presented. Some parasitic hymenopterans were reared from their host insects found on the stems and branches of Heracleum platytaenium Boiss., which contains furanocoumarins that are insect repellents and suppress growth in some species. Plant materials with insects were collected from the vicinity of Kızılcahamam in Ankara Province in July-September 2008. The parasitoids (Hymenoptera) and their hosts were Didyctium brunnea (Belizin) (Eucolidae) from puparia of Lasiambia albidipennis (Strobl) (Diptera: Chloropidae), Pronotalia carlinarum (Szelenyi & Erdos) (Eulophidae) and Homoporus febriculosus (Girault) (Pteromalidae) from puparia of Melanagromyza heracleana Zlobin (Diptera: Agromyzidae), and Baryscapus crassicornis (Erdos) (Eulophidae) from larvae, pupae, and adults of Lixus nordmanni Hochhuth (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). The hole(s) or cutting types done by the parasitoids while leaving their hosts were described. Development time from egg to adult (12 days and 19-20 days) and parasitization duration (60 min and 20-30 min) were also determined for P. carlinarum and B. crassicornis, respectively, and average parasitization rates in nature and the mating behaviors of these 2 parasitoids were defined. To our knowledge, the insects are new hosts for all parasitoids and the first parasitoid records for the flies. Chloropidae is a new record host family for D. brunnea after Phoridae. A new species belonging to the genus Helochares Mulsant, 1844 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) is described on the basis of a single male specimen collected in Ordu province, Turkey. The species is described and an identification key to the species of the Helochares lividus group is provided. Twenty-nine species belonging to 17 genera of the subfamily Ceutorhynchinae are reported from the Central Anatolian and the Mediterranean regions of Turkey. Detailed distributions of these species in these 2 regions are given. Seventeen species are newly recorded from central Anatolia and 10 from the Mediterranean region. Different habitat types chosen from Kasnak Oak Forest Nature Reserve (Isparta, Turkey) and 3 plots with vegetation structure, were studied comparatively with Alticinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) species composition, its richness and abundance. The study was conducted between the months of April and October at 15-day intervals during 2005 and 2006. Sixty-six sets of data were obtained during the survey, including 22 samplings for each plot. A total of 2650 individuals belonging to 57 species were recorded from the chosen plots. Species richness estimators were used to measure the completeness of the inventories. Values predicted by different non-parametric estimators showed that further sampling effort is needed in the region to assess the actual Alticinae diversity. However, as the species richness of the chosen plots was close to completeness, a superficial comparison could be made in terms of diversity. According to Shannon-Wiener, Simpson and Berger-Parker indices of diversity obtained from 2-year data, forest area dominated by vulcanic oak (VOF) was the most diverse plot followed closely by shrub and meadow lands (SML). Cluster analyses using Jaccard and Bray-Curtis similarity indices revealed a relatively high degree of similarity between Alticinae communities in plots VOF and SML for the whole study period. Two hydrophilid genera, Cymbiodyta Bedel 1881 and Chasmogenus (Watanabe, 1987), and 3 species, Cymbiodyta marginella (Fabricius, 1792), Enochrus (Methydrus) coarctatus (Gredler, 1863), and Chasmogenus (Crephelochares) orbus (Watanabe, 1987), are reported for the first time from Turkey. The study was conducted in three habitats representing different ecosystems (an area dominated by oaks, a grassland including several plants, and a stream bank) in Kasnak Mesesi Nature Reserve during 2005 and 2006 at 15-day intervals from April to October. Consequently, a total of 12 species were recorded from the habitats sampled, 9 from Carabidae and 3 from Tenebrionidae, by using the pitfall traps. The grassland including several plants was determined as the most diverse habitat according to Shannon and Simpson indices of diversity. Dailognatha quadricollis (Brullé) and Pimelia subglobosa (Pallas) were the most abundant species collected from all the three habitats in both study years with percentages of 45% and 24%, respectively. Otiorhynchus lederi Stierlin, 1876 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) was detected in northeastern Anatolia. This species has been known as a parthenogenetic form so far. We found in Transcaucasus and Turkey several bisexual populations of this species for the first time and we redescribed them. O. lederi is allied to Otiorhynchus erivanensis Reitter, which was described from Armenia. Diagnostic features separating these 2 species were indicated. Both of these species are new records for the Turkish fauna. Although O. lederi is a polyphagous it is a pest of currant ( Ribes spp.), rose ( Rosa spp.), and strawberry ( Fragaria spp.) species in Erzurum province, especially in the land around Atatürk University. The weevils feed in a typical way, whereby they chew irregular-shaped areas from the margins of the leaves, and sometimes defoliate small plants. It is univoltine and hibernates as an adult among the roots of grasses under currant and rose species or other host plants. O. erivanensis is a rare species; only 2 females have been found. Fortyone species belonging to ten families of Caraboidea were recorded in ecologically managed cherry orchards (Cerasus avium)(Linnaeus) located in Muradiye (Manisa), Ören and Armutlu (Izmir), western Turkey. Totally, 1627 specimens were collected mainly by pitfall traps, by yellow sticky traps and by bait traps and a few specimens by beating and by sweeping of the vegetation. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the feeding habits of the marsh frog, Rana ridibunda, populations inhabiting Turkish Thrace. Analysis of the stomach contents of 53 (19 ♂♂, 34 ♀♀) adult individuals was performed. The frog diet consisted of a wide variety of arthropods; Diptera (42.62%) and Coleoptera (21.84%) were especially prominent. Aquatic forms did not contribute much to the frog diet. The prey items identified indicate that individuals of this species, like other ranids, are generalist opportunistic predators whose diet is most strongly influenced by prey availability. Two newly recorded Enochrus Thomson, 1859 (Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae) species for the Turkish fauna, E. (E.) melanocephalus (Olivier, 1792) and E.
