The purpose of this narrative review is to study the problems in assessing visual acuity in deaf-mute children. We identified various methods of Visometry, published articles and patents for the inventions based on the assessment of visual acuity in deaf-mute children in the Russian Federation and parts of countries formerly part of the Soviet Union, in order to identify shortcomings and search for solutions. According to the total number of 126 cited scientific papers, the most common methods for assessing visual acuity in deaf--mute patients included Golovin-Sivtsev table (89.1%) and new JEI/JEI technique (8.9%). However, 2% of the doctors used tables of "illiterate" E, Teller Acuity cards with hand gestures, combining Teller Acuity cards with hand gestures to trigger reactions, Lea symbols with visual cues enabling visual cues or pointing to stimulate recognition and Graphic tables with sign language. In the presence of signs of hearing and speech disorders in patients, it is recommended to consider the use of cards duplicating optotypes to the table for assessing visual acuity [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Among the plants that exhibit significant or established pharmacological activity, the genus Artemisia L. deserves special attention. This genus comprises over 500 species belonging to the largest Asteraceae family. Our study aimed at providing a comprehensive evaluation of the phytochemical composition of the ethanol extracts of five different Artemisia L. species (collected from the southwest of the Russian Federation) and their antimicrobial and nematocide activity as follows: A. annua cv. Novichok., A. dracunculus cv. Smaragd, A. santonica cv. Citral, A. abrotanum cv. Euxin, and A. scoparia cv. Tavrida. The study of the ethanol extracts of the five different Artemisia L. species using the methods of gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS/MS) allowed establishing their phytochemical profile. The obtained data on the of five different Artemisia L. species ethanol extracts' phytochemical composition were used to predict the antibacterial and antifungal activity against phytopathogenic microorganisms and nematocidal activity against the free-living soil nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. The major compounds found in the composition of the Artemisia L. ethanol extracts were monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, flavonoids, flavonoid glycosides, coumarins, and phenolic acids. The antibacterial and antifungal activity of the extracts began to manifest at a concentration of 150 µg/mL. The A. dracunculus cv. Smaragd extract had a selective effect against Gram-positive R. iranicus and B. subtilis bacteria, whereas the A. scoparia cv. Tavrida extract had a selective effect against Gram-negative A. tumefaciens and X. arboricola bacteria and A. solani, R. solani and F. graminearum fungi. The A. annua cv. Novichok, A. dracunculus cv. Smaragd, and A. santonica cv. Citral extracts in the concentration range of 31.3–1000 µg/mL caused the death of nematodes. It was established that A. annua cv. Novichok affects the UNC-63 protein, the molecular target of which is the nicotine receptor of the N-subtype. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A paper reviews existing and future seismohydroacoustic technologies, equipment, and novel scientific approaches to studying the Arctic Ocean. Particular attention is paid to the state of scientific and practical groundwork in the possibilities of developing passive geohydroacoustic methods for monitoring the ice-covered shelf of Russia's northern seas. New knowledge on the structure and conditions of the formation and propagation of wave fields in the layered lithosphere–hydrosphere–ice–cover-atmosphere system generated by induced geodynamic processes has been obtained in the course of solving a separate class of problems within the fundamental scientific problem of seeking ways to build innovative, environmentally friendly geophysical technologies for delineating local heterogeneities, including hydrocarbon deposits, in ice-covered water areas. This paper aims to refine the theoretical basis of the strategic management arrangements in the development of the national food system in the Russian Federation. The authors consider the aspects of the existing state and conditions of operation, capacity building potential, food security issues, and the refinement of parameters of administrative influence based on the substantiation of the main principles of the agri-food policy. The article uses the methods of systematic and graphic analysis, as well as forecasting methods, to clarify the theoretical positions concerning the mechanism of strategic management of the national food supply system development in the Russian Federation. The results of the study allow the authors to conclude that in the formation of the food security system, it is necessary to carry out the transformation of the managerial impact on the united multi-sectoral functionally interacting sector of the country's economy. For at least a century, scholars have argued about whether or not Buddha is considered a god. We treat this question empirically by conducting two ethnographic studies among residents of the Tyva Republic, one of the Buddhist republics in the Russian Federation. Using a mixed methods approach to interrogate the question, this report concludes that Buddha is, in fact, popularly represented as a punitive and moralistic supernatural agent in the republic and demographic factors co-vary with such beliefs. The paper addresses longstanding concerns and situates the results in contemporary social scientific inquiry that addresses questions of when, where, to what degree, and why he is represented as a deity. Abstract: A common research task in dendroclimatology is identification of the monthly or seasonal climate signal in an annual time series of indices of ring width. A MATLAB function, seascorr, is introduced as a general statistical tool for identifying the signal. Monthly time series of primary and secondary climate variables are input to the function along with a tree-ring time series and specifications for seasonal groupings. The relationship of the tree-ring series with the seasonalized primary climate variable is summarized by simple correlations. The relationship with the secondary climate variable is summarized by partial correlations, controlling for the influence of the primary climate variable. Confidence intervals on sample correlations and partial correlations are estimated with the help of Monte Carlo simulation of the tree-ring series by exact simulation, which preserves the spectral properties of the observed series. The article presents a study concerning graphs in relation to neighborhoods of vertices which are considered as pseudogeometric graphs for pGs-2(s,t). It notes that graphs in the said study are being classified. It cites that the degree of a vertex is determined as the number of vertices in its neighborhood. It acknowledges that the study is backed up by several institutions including the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Russian Foundation for Basic Research.

The article presents a study on mathematics concerning semilinear Higman graphs' parameter. It notes that semilinear Higman graph is a strong regular graph which studied semilinear graphs and semitriangular of rank. It mentions that strong regular graphs with positive integers of parameters are called pseudogeometric graph. It acknowledges that the study is backed up by several institutions including Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Foundation for Basic Research and National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
