Abstract Background This study aimed to investigate the mitigating effect of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on doxorubicin (DOX)-induced ovarian and uterine toxicity in rats using laboratory tests, ultrasonographic (US) imaging, and histopathology analysis. Methods Forty-eight rats were divided into six groups (n = 8) as follows: Group A (control) (0.5 mL saline administered intraperitoneally [IP]), Group B (a single 10 mg/kg dose of DOX administered IP on day 1), Group C (a single 10 mg/kg dose of DOX administered IP 24 h before sacrifice), Group D (100 mg/kg of NAC administered IP for 21 days), Group E ( a single 10 mg/kg dose of DOX administered IP on day 1 and 100 mg/kg of NAC administered IP for 21 days), and Group F (100 mg/kg of NAC administered IP for 21 days and a single 10 mg/kg dose of DOX administered IP 24 h before sacrifice). The ovaries were examined using B-mode US on days 1, 14, and 21, and the histopathological examinations of the ovaries and the uterus were undertaken after sacrifice on day 22. Results Histomorphological analyses showed that ovarian weight decreased after DOX administration in Group B but not in Group E. US revealed a transient increase in ovarian size in Group B and E, reverting to baseline levels over time, as well as a progressive increase in peritoneal fluid in Groups B and E. Group B exhibited a significant decrease in the thickness of the endometrium and myometrium and uterine cornual length, which was not observed in Group E. Histopathological examination showed that DOX caused a decline in follicular count, especially in primordial, secondary, and Graafian follicles, and resulted in follicular atresia, predominantly in Group B. Destructive degeneration/necrosis and vascular changes were most prominently seen in the corpus luteum of Groups C and B. In NAC-treated rats (Groups E and F), although germ cell damage was present, atretic follicles and vascular changes, such as hyperemia and congestion, were reduced. The anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) level was the highest in Group F. Conclusions NAC, an antioxidant, attenuated DOX-induced gonadotoxicity in rats.

Background/Aims: The percutaneous route is accepted as the most convenient course in the management of hydatid cysts (HCs). The aim of this study is to analyze the efficacy of the Örmeci technique used in the treatment of hydatid cysts. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study. Patients with HCs who presented to the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology since 1991 were included. Patients with World Health Organization cystic echinococcosis (WHO-CE) types 1, 2, 3A-3B live cysts who were treated percutaneously at least once and followed up after a minimum of 6 months were analyzed. Results: A total of 1556 cystic lesions in 1035 patients have been presented to our department since 1991. Five hundred forty-four live HCs in 479 patients were treated with the Örmeci technique. The mean follow-up time was 59.29 months for females and 57.18 for males. The overall clinical success rate of all treated cysts with the Örmeci technique was 94.5%. After the treatment, a statistically significant decrease was found in all WHO-CE cyst types in terms of cyst sizes (P < .001 for all). Mortality, abscess and fistula formation, sclerosing cholangitis, and drug toxicities were not detected. Only 2 patients experienced reversible anaphylaxis during the treatment among 544 cysts (0.36%). Conclusion: Hydatid cysts can be treated percutaneously by the Örmeci technique with a high success rate for WHO-CE type 1, 2, and 3B. The Örmeci technique is an economic, simple, cheap, and repeatable outpatient procedure. It can be chosen as the first-line therapeutic modality in suitable patients with HCs.

This research employs the COMSOL Multiphysics software (COMSOL 6.2) to conduct rigorous simulations and assess the performance of a thermoelectric module (TEM) meticulously crafted with alumina (Al2O3), copper (Cu), and Bi2Te2.70Se0.30 thermoelectric (TE) materials. The specific focus is on evaluating diverse aspects of the Bi2Te2.70Se0.30 thermoelectric generator (TEG). The TEM design incorporates Bi2Te2.70Se0.30 for TE legs of the p- and n-type positioned among the Cu layers, Cu as the electrical conductor, and Al2O3 serving as an electrical insulator between the top and bottom layers. A thorough investigation is conducted into critical parameters within the TEM, which include arc length, electric potential, normalized current density, temperature gradient, total heat source, and total net energy rate. The geometric configuration of the square-shaped Bi2Te2.70Se0.30 TEM, measuring 1 mm × 1 mm × 2.5 mm with a 0.25 mm Al2O3 thickness and a 0.125 mm Cu thickness, is scrutinized. This study delves into the transport phenomena of TE devices, exploring the impacts of the Seebeck coefficient (S), thermal conductivity (k), and electrical conductivity (σ) on the temperature differential across the leg geometry. Modeling studies underscore the substantial influence of S = ±2.41 × 10−3 V/K, revealing improved thermal conductivity and decreased electrical conductivity at lower temperatures. The findings highlight the Bi2Te2.70Se0.30 TEM’s high potential for TEG applications, offering valuable insights into design and performance considerations crucial for advancing TE technology.

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary black cumin (Nigella sativa L.) oil on growth performance, hemato‐biochemical, and histopathology of cypermethrin‐intoxicated Nile tilapia. After determining the LC50 (96 h) value of cypermethrin, cypermethrin was added to the water at a ratio of 1:20 of this concentration, and the fish were fed for 42 days. To reduce the effects of cypermethrin, 1% black cumin oil was added to the fish feed as a potential protectant. Growth parameters, hematology, blood biochemistry, and histopathological changes of Nile tilapia were examined after the feeding period. In this study, the best growth was observed in the group fed with feed containing 1% black cumin oil, while the worst growth performance was observed in the group fed with water containing cypermethrin and without black cumin oil in the feed. As a result of the study, it was observed that black cumin oil added to the fish diet reduced the negative effects of water‐borne cypermethrin on growth, hematology, blood biochemistry, and histopathological parameters of Nile tilapia.

This study was carried out to determine the effects of Equex on ram semen freezability in three different extenders. Semen samples were collected from five rams and divided into six equal aliquots. At first, three non-commercial base extenders (E1: Tris-based extender, E2: Tris based extender+ Cystein and E3: Skim Milk Powder (SMP)) were prepared. Each base extender was divided into two parts; a base extender (E1, E2 and E3) or fortified with Equex (E1E, E2E and E3E). The pooled semen was diluted according to the two-step dilution method, and cryopreserved using a programmable freezing machine. Sperm motility parameters were examined by CASA. Abstract Background When pesticides are introduced into wetlands by agriculture, fish quickly absorb them through their gills. Pesticides reduce hatchability, impede growth, and antioxidant response, killing fish. Therefore, it's crucial to find effective pesticide mitigation methods for fish. Objective In this study, the effects of garlic (Allium sativum) oil on the growth, haematology, biochemistry and histopathology parameters of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) exposed to cypermethrin toxicity were investigated. Methods In the research, cypermethrin was added to the water of the experimental groups at a rate of 1:20 of the LC50 value, and 1.00% garlic oil was added to the fish feed. Fish with an initial weight of 30.26 ± 0.26 g were fed for 45 days. Results At the end of feeding, the final weights were determined as 69.39 ± 0.41 (G1), 61.81 ± 0.65 (G2), 82.25 ± 0.36 (G3), and 75.04 ± 0.68 (G4) grams, respectively. Histopathological examinations revealed serious lesions in the gill, liver, brain, and muscle tissues in the cypermethrin group, whereas these lesions were minimal or absent in the garlic oil group. Conclusions Garlic oil supplementation had positive effects on growth, haematology, blood biochemistry, hepatosomatic index and histopathological parameters. These findings suggest that garlic oil is a potential protective agent against cypermethrin toxicity.

This cross-sectional study was carried out in order to determine the opinions of mothers on sexual development in children with intellectual disabilities. The sampling of this study included mothers of children aged 10-19 years with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities. Of the mothers, 45.7% stated that they felt incapable of providing sexual education to their adolescent children with disabilities and 97.6% stated that they had received no information on this subject themselves. Based on the mothers' opinions, the mean score for the sexual development of adolescent children was 11.33 ± 16.18. In the sub-dimensions of sexual arousal (20.97 ± 5.71), sexual harassment (12.22 ± 3.13), sexual satisfaction (15.79 ± 3.85) and sharing sexual issues (12.74 ± 2.67) the mean score of the scale was found to be high. The knowledge levels of the mothers concerning the sexual development of their children with intellectual disabilities were found to be low, and they required education on this issue.

The aim of this research was to analyze the measurement invariance of the "Teachers' Sense of Self-Efficacy Scale," developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy, and adapted into Turkish and Turkish culture by Çapa, Çakiroglu and Sarikaya, with respect to gender. Turkish version of the scale consists of 24 items and 3 subscales. The scale measures pre-service teachers' and teachers' sense of and belief in self-efficacy for student engagement, classroom management and instructional strategies. Research revealed that the scale is being used by a myriad of researchers. The sample of this study consists of 267 female, 163 male pre-service teachers who participated in the Pedagogical Formation Certificate Traning at Inönü University in the 2017-2018 academic years. First of all, CFA was executed in order to confirm the validity of the scale's current structure for both genders which was confirmed based on the analysis results. Then, MGCFA was executed to analyze the scale's measurement invariance in terms of gender. The results of the MGCFA indicated that the scale has the measurement invariance with respect to gender at each of the stages of strict, metric, scalar and configural invariance.

Son 50 yılda, inşaat endüstrisi diğer endüstrilere kıyasla oldukça az teknolojik yeniliğe sahiptir. İnşaat endüstrisinin parçalı doğası ve projelerin bir kereye özgü oluşu yeniliklere karşı direnç göstermesine neden olmaktadır. Değişime olan bu ilgisizliğin yanı sıra verimlilik ve performansı arttırma ihtiyacı uzun bir süredir bilinmektedir. Yapı bilgi modellemesi (YBM), binaların tasarlanma, inşa ve işletilme şeklini hızla değiştiren devrim niteliğinde bir teknoloji ve süreçtir. Bu çalışmanın amacı tasarım aşamasında YBM süreçlerinde modellenen bilgilerin sahadaki personele hangi teknolojiler vasıtasıyla aktarıldığını tespit etmek ve sahadaki üretime sağladığı katkıyı incelemektir. Ayrıca Türk inşaat sektöründe YBM süreçleriyle yürütülen örnekleri incelemek ve sektörün yönelimini arttırmak için akademisyenler ve profesyoneller tarafından yapılan çalışmaları ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma sürecinde Türk inşaat sektöründe YBM uygulamaları incelenmiştir. Sektörde aktif olarak YBM teknolojilerini deneyimlemiş farklı paydaşları temsil eden beş profesyonelle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan görüşmeler ve literatürden elde edilen veriler karşılaştırılmıştır. Süreçlerin dijitalleşme yönünde hızla ilerlediği fakat aktif şantiye ortamında hala paftaların kullanıldığı, üretim yapan işçilerin bilgiye geleneksel yöntemlerle ulaştığı görülmektedir. Üç boyutlu modellenen projenin iki boyutta paftaya dönüştürülme ihtiyacı zaman almakta ve mevcut bilginin veriminin azalmasına neden olmaktadır. Bu durumda sahada hala beklenen dijitalleşme sağlanamamıştır. Literatürde incelenen vaka çalışmalarında, şantiyeye kurulmuş dijital istasyonlarla modellere üç boyutlu olarak ulaşılan uygulamalar mevcuttur. Yatırımcının bütçesi dahilinde uygulanabilecek bu uygulama sahada kaybolan veriye çözüm olabilir. İncelenen örnekler ve yapılan görüşmelerde teknolojiye yapılan bu yatırımların işverene büyük oranda kar olarak döndüğü tespit edilmiştir. İşverenler ilk maliyete değil toplam kara odaklanmalılardır. Sektörün bu dönüşüme dahil olmaları rekabet avantajı sağlayacaktır.

Manufacturers need to determine the best geometries for thermoelectric coolers (TECs) to achieve optimal performance. In this study, we employed the COMSOL Multiphysics software to simulate the performance enhancement of Bi2Te3 TEC. The TEC is constructed with alumina (Al2O3), copper (Cu), and bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) materials. In particular, Al2O3 acts as an electric insulator for the top and bottom layers, Cu functions as a conductor, and Bi2Te3 serves as the p- and n-type thermoelectric (TE) legs between the Cu layers. The study examined how different TE leg heights (1.5 mm, 2 mm, and 2.5 mm) and shapes (square and rectangular) affected the TEC's performance. It looked at various factors, such as temperature gradient, electric potential, normalized current density, and total net energy rate. Additionally, the thickness effects of the insulator, conductor, and the TE leg pitch of the TEC have also been investigated. According to the obtained results, it has been determined that the square type of leg geometry has provided the best performance among the tested geometries, and it has been recommended that its leg geometry be 1.00 mm × 1.00 mm × 1.5 mm, the thickness be 0.375 mm for Al2O3 and 0.125 mm for Cu, and the pitch be 0.50 mm, as they are expected to yield satisfactory performance. The research study involved obtaining performance parameters for 18 TE elements utilized in the fabrication of TEC. The TEC-simulated results revealed the following performance metrics: ΔTmax = 73.94 K, Umax = 2.52 V, Imax = 3.00 A, Qmax = 4.42 W, R = 0.84 Ω, and Z = 0.002377 1/K.

Objetivo: Investigar los posibles efectos del período COVID-19 en la frecuencia y el curso clínico de los casos de isquemia mesentérica aguda (IAM). Material y métodos: Se incluyeron un total de 35 pacientes tratados y seguidos con diagnóstico de IAM durante 44 meses. Resultados: La edad media de los pacientes fue de 69 ± 12 años. De estos pacientes, 22 eran hombres (63%). La causa más frecuente de IAM en los pacientes fue la embolia/trombosis arterial (68.6%). Treinta y tres (94%) de los pacientes fueron intervenidos quirúrgicamente. La duración de los períodos pre-COVID-19 y COVID-19 fue igual a 22 meses, y 18 (51%) de los pacientes ingresaron durante el período pandémico. La tasa de mortalidad de los pacientes ingresados durante el periodo COVID-19 también fue significativamente mayor que la de los pacientes ingresados durante el periodo pre-COVID-19 (61% y 29%) (p = 0.05). Conclusiones: Si bien el período COVID-19 no provocó un aumento significativo en el número de casos de IAM en comparación con el período pre-COVID-19, la tasa de mortalidad fue mayor en este período. Se cree que se requieren más estudios para investigar la causa de este aumento en la tasa de mortalidad durante el período pandémico.

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of follow-up care and health counselling provided by midwives and nurses in maternal-infant attachment level and relationships between sociodemographic factors. The study was designed as a quasi-experimental pattern with a control group on pretest-posttest. The sample size was determined using a power analysis and a total of 90 people were included in the study. The study demonstrated that the mean PAI score was high both in experimental and control groups and there was no difference between the groups (p > 0.05). In both groups, the mean MAI score was above the average scale score, but it was significantly higher in the group receiving health counselling and follow-up care compared to the score of the other group (p < 0.05). The study demonstrated that health counselling and follow-up care contributed significantly to the mother-infant attachment.

This research aimed to investigate the relationships between positive and negative perfectionisms, self-handicapping, self-efficacy and academic achievement. For this purpose, an extensive literature review was conducted and a model was suggested. Structural equation model was employed to test the model. The study group of the research consisted of 350 students studying at the Faculty of Muallim Rifat Education at Kilis 7 Aralik University. The data was collected through positive and negative perfectionism scale, self-handicapping scale, self-efficacy scale and personal information form. Descriptive, correlation, path and bootstrap methods were used to analyze the data. As a result of the data analysis, it was revealed that students' positive perfectionism have a significant positive effect on their academic achievement and self-efficacy, while they have a significant negative effect on their self-handicapping. Besides, it was found that the negative perfectionism have a significant negative effect on their academic achievement and self-efficacy, and a significant positive effect on self-handicapping. Lastly, it was seen that self efficacy and self-handicapping play partial mediation roles in the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism and academic achievement. Based on this result, it can be stated that positive and negative perfectionisms are significant variables which have direct and indirect effects on academic achievement.

Objective:Testicular torsion is one of the most common genital diseases in males in adolescence and it should be treated as soon as possible without ipsilateral testicular dysfunction. We investigated the protective effect of Capsaicin, which is an active ingredient of red-hot pepper, an antioxidant substance, on tissue damage caused by ischemia/reperfusion (I/R).Materials and Methods:Forty male, 250-300 g adult male rats were divided into 4 groups, 10 in each group. The torsion was created by rotating the spermatic cord of both testicles counterclockwise by 720°. In the experimental group where we applied capsaicin, detorsion was performed after 2 h of torsion. Malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) were evaluated. Testicular tissue was stained with hematoxylin/eosin for histopathological evaluation.Results:In the Capsaicin group showed reduced tubular damage and seminiferous tubules in a structure similar to ischemia and spermatogenic cell series in the tubular wall and decreased edema in the interstitial area. SOD, MDA and CAT levels evaluated for the determination of lipid peroxidation were observed to be close to the control group values in the Capsaicin administered group.Conclusion:Capsaicin had a protective effect on I/R injury in the testicle.

The objective of the present study is to examine the correlation between the five factor personality traits of pre-service teachers and their attitudes towards the teaching profession and to test the mediating role of the pre-service teachers' self-efficacy beliefs. The study population included pre-service teachers that attended the "pedagogical formation course" instructed/applied in Inönü University, Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences in 2015-2016 academic year. The survey sample included 382 pre-service teachers who voluntarily responded to the measurement instruments utilized in the study. The study data were collected with the "five factor personality scale," "attitudes towards the teaching profession scale" and "teacher self-efficacy scale." The obtained data were analyzed with path analysis of structural equation modeling. In conclusion, it was observed that there was a significant positive correlation between the five factor personality traits of extraversion, conscientiousness, openness and agreeableness and teacher self-efficacy belief, and there was a significant negative correlation between neuroticism personality trait and teacher self-efficacy belief. It was observed that the self-efficacy beliefs of pre-service teachers played a full mediating role between their neuroticism, openness and extraversion personality traits, and the same played a partial mediating role in the correlation between conscientiousness and agreeableness personality traits and the attitude towards the teaching profession. The implementation of a curriculum in pre-service teacher training that would increase the self-efficacy beliefs on teaching would also improve their attitudes towards the profession positively.

Compared to conventional materials, thermoelectric (TE) nanostructured materials have a greater commercial impact. The advancement of these materials is necessary to develop the thermoelectric generator (TEG). For the contemporary TE concept, Bi2-xSbxTe3 (0.20 ≤ X ≤ 1.80) nanostructured substances can minimize the limitations of Bi2Te3 for TEG manufacture. Recently, Bi2-xSbxTe3 (0.20 ≤ X ≤ 1.80) has been identified as the prospective TE material for utilization in TEG manufacturing purposes. It's now in the initial stages, and it has some superiority compared with other TE materials. The research and advancement of this material will likely face challenges. The review identifies the ideal composition that is appropriate for TE applications and offers a practical method for addressing the shortcomings of Bi2Te3 nanostructure materials. Performance evaluations of the current Bi2-xSbxTe3 (0.20 ≤ X ≤ 1.80) nanostructured materials are also thoroughly discussed.

Objective: The purpose of the research was to evaluate the child sexual abuse cases admitted to the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in terms of the child, family, and abuser, and to identify the associated factors. Method: The data were collected retrospectively and descriptively from the cases in the CAC using the juridical reports, family interview reports Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policies representative reports and the data collection form developed by the researchers. Results: Within the scope of the research, 175 child victims of sexual abuse were evaluated According to this; the mean age of the abused children was in the study was 13.33+-3.33, 81.7% were girls, and 42.9% were high school students. According to the results of the study, 34.3% of the children were diagnosed with mental illness. Among the mothers and fathers included in the study, 76% of the mothers and 33.7% of the fathers are not working and also 85.1% of the mothers and 79.5% of the fathers are primary school graduates. In addition, 60% of families have a low income level. It was determined that 57.7% of the children were exposed to abuse many times and irregularly, 40.6% were exposed to sexual touching, 35.4% were exposed to penetration, and 44% medical examination. Conclusion: The study showed that family dynamics play a pivotal role in the sexual abuse of children, and low socio-economic/education level and being an adolescent girl is among the significant factors.

Günümüzde hızla değişen teknoloji, toplum inşasında beşeri sermayenin ve nitelikli insan gücü yetiştirmenin gerekliliğini daha da arttırmaktadır. Türkiye’nin gelecekteki hedeflerine ulaşabilmesinde anahtar rolündeki en önemli kaynaklarından biri özel yetenekli bireylerdir. Makalede öncelikle toplumsal gelişmenin itici gücü olan özel yetenekli bireylerin fark edilme süreçleri, özel yetenekli bireylerde aile kurumunun önemi üzerinde durulmuştur. Yetenekleri doğrultusunda gerekli eğitimlerin verilmesi ve içinde bulundukları sosyal çevre ile uyum süreçleri ve toplum tarafından özel yetenekli bireylere yönelik anlam atfetmeleri de önemli bir husus olarak ele alınmıştır. Eğitimcilerin rolü ve bu yollarla istenilen toplumsal yapının oluşturulmasının önemi de vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları literatür taraması ve katılımcılarla yapılan ön görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen varsayımlar doğrultusunda hazırlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda bu araştırmada üstün yetenekli bireylerin, ailelerinin, eğitimlerinden sorumlu öğretmenlerin ve sosyal çevrenin görüşleri alınarak bu bireylerin kendi geleceklerini ve toplumun geleceğini nasıl yönlendirebilecekleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerde ise açıklamanın değil anlamanın ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada çoklu metod stratejisi izlenmiştir. Bu amaçla anket çalışması yüz yüze uygulanarak ve anket formunun ikinci bölümünde katılımcıların katılma dereceleri sorularak, likert ölçeği benzeri soru tipi ve madde analizi stratejisiyle değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre katılımcılar, BİLSEM’lerin hangi amaçlarla eğitim verdiğinin bilincindedirler. Ancak BİLSEM sınavlarının mutlaka duyurulması ve ebeveynlerin sürece dahil olması gerektiğini düşünmektedirler. Bunun yanında katılımcılardan BİLSEM’lerin toplumun ihtiyacını karşılayabildiği yönünde anlamlı bir görüş ortaya çıkmamıştır ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin toplumun diğer bireylerden üstün olarak görülmediği belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin kendilerine yönelik özel/üstün yetenek algılarında bir yetersizlik görülmekle birlikte, meslek tercihleri konusunda özellikle sanat, tıp ve mühendislik alanlarına yoğunlaşmadan özgür hareket etmek istedikleri söylenebilir. Elde edilen verilerle bu konuda yapılacak olan bilimsel çalışmalara bir katkı sağlanması hedeflenmektedir.

Masitinib mesylate, a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor of the c-KIT receptor, is used for the treatment of mast cell tumours in dogs. Masitinib has previously been investigated in various cancers; however, its potential anticancer effect in canine mammary tumours (CMTs) is unknown. In the present paper, we investigated the antiproliferative effect of masitinib in CMT cells and its possible mechanisms of action.

Problem Statement: Since conflict is an organizational phenomenon, its comparison between other organizational variables to find possible associations has been an important research motive. Relevant researchers have found significant correlations between conflict handling strategies of principals of different genders and school culture, emotional intelligence and conflict management styles, teachers' self-efficacy beliefs and conflict solution styles. Considering the rapid development of communication and the need for organizations to change, an increase in individual differences among organization members has become inevitable today. This also causes increased conflicts among organization members who are constantly interacting with each other. Poor communication underlies the interpersonal conflicts. The degree of interpersonal communication significantly determines the organizational performance and information transmission. Each educational organization, like other organizations, is composed of people with different personalities, perceptions, attitudes, value judgments, personal goals, and expectations. Individual differences can cause problems. The solutions to these problems seem to be closely associated with the communication competence of organization members. Purpose of Study: This study investigates the relationship between communication competences and organizational conflict levels of heads of educational supervisors, and the extent to which communication competence predicts organizational conflict. Methods: This associational study was conducted on 217 educational supervisors working in head departments of educational supervisors in eight cities of Turkey. Data were collected using the "Communication Competences Scale" and "Organizational Conflict Scale." Findings and Results: Results indicated that heads of educational supervisors mostly exhibit communication competences including the components of empathy, social relaxation and support behaviors. Educational supervisors also stated that they sometimes experience organizational conflict including the components of intergroup, between groups and personal conflict in their head departments. A negative moderate level of correlation was found between communication competence and organizational conflict levels of heads of educational supervisors. In addition, communication competence was found to predict organizational conflict significantly. Additionally, it was found that empathy competence, one of the communication competences, is a significant predictor of intergroup and personal conflict, and support competence is a significant predictor of within group conflict. It was also found that social relaxation competence as one of the components of communication competence is not a significant predictor of any of the components of organizational conflict. Conclusions and Recommendations: This study provides new insight into the effects of communication competence on conflict management in educational organizations and is of value to educational leaders, managers, and other conflict management specialists.

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Student Consortium (ISPRS SC) is an international student organization representing the youth in the ISPRS. The COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected students and young professionals around the world because of country-wide lockdowns and comprehensive quarantine and social distancing measures. This situation led to the implementation of distance learning and remote work. The Consortium organized different activities in support of students and young professionals during the global health crisis. Despite the challenges and necessary adjustments, the unprecedented situation helped the organization adapt to change and encouraged us to revisit our roles as an international organization. The ISPRS SC hosts and coordinates activities and events both in person and online, including the Webinar Series, the publication of the SpeCtrum and the summer schools. During the pandemic, we improved our existing activities to provide support to our members and to the scientific community in general as we navigate major lifestyle changes and become more adept in using technology in our day-to-day lives. We also introduced new initiatives such as the Virtual Rooms and the GeoMixer, and continued to work in partnership with different organizations in remote sensing, photogrammetry and spatial information science. Moreover, we continued to strengthen our connection to the ISPRS through a collaboration with the ISPRS White Elephant Club and for a special event honouring one of the most important figures in the Society and in the profession. With all these activities organized during this challenging time, the Consortium experienced growth in terms of organizing and improving its activities, our roles as an international organization, and our online presence. The Consortium has also taken steps for continuity and sustained relevance to both the youth and ISPRS.

The ISPRS Student Consortium (ISPRS SC) continues to engage the youth in many activities aligned with the mission and vision of ISPRS. For the term 2016 – 2020, the ISPRS SC strengthened its foundations through collaboration within the ISPRS Council and Technical Commission V, and increasing its presence in various ISPRS events. The Consortium Board introduced several changes in the organization: (1) re-designed the official logo, which was used in different communication and media, (2) revision of the Consortium’s Statutes, (3) continued the legacy of the summer schools through a new set of guidelines that coordinated all summer schools organized within ISPRS, (4) launched the Webinar Series, (5) repackaged the Newsletter into SpeCtrum, (6) introduction of two new awards, (7) hosting of a three-day Youth Forum in the ISPRS Congress and (8) the introduction of the ISPRS SC Student Chapters. A total of 13 issues had been published under SpeCtrum, two of which featured the ISPRS and an outstanding special issue on Women in Remote Sensing and Geospatial Information that received over 500 reads overnight. The SpeCtrum continued to seek experts, professors and contributors who willingly shared their work and inspire the youth. SpeCtrum had been publishing high quality articles and had been featuring outstanding scientists and researchers in the fields of remote sensing, photogrammetry and spatial information science. The Consortium also launched the Webinar Series and kicked off with an introduction on Google Earth Engine and followed by the applications of deep learning in remote sensing in 2020. For this term, a total of 16 summer schools were hosted across the globe, including one hosted under the ISPRS Education and Capacity Building Initiatives in 2018. The Consortium also partnered with international organizations such as Geo-informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Applications and the local chapters of the IEEE – Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society Young Professionals (IEEE – GRSS YP) in Brazil. The members of the Consortium had been increasing in the past year, especially with its increased presence in various social media platforms. The Consortium envisions a future, where the younger generation takes the lead and engages in relevant social and global issues and contributing significantly to the scientific community. As a student and youth organization, it aims to continue to develop more ways of knowledge transfer, capacity building and establishing professional networks to prepare students and young professionals for a future of collaboration and cooperation.

The aim of the current study was to determine the optimum concentration of bovine serum albumin for post-thawing quality of drone sperm and this is the first study to evaluate the effect of BSA supplemented TL-Hepes based extenders for drone semen cryopreservation. Sexually mature drones were used for semen collection. Pooled semen was diluted with TL-Hepes based extender supplemented with different concentrations of BSA (1 mg/mL, 3 mg/mL, and 5 mg/mL) or without BSA (control), at a final concentration of 100x106 spermatozoon/mL. A Baker’s cyst is usually an incidental finding in adults being investigated for a joint arthropathy, and its rupture preceding the diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is rare in children. Here, we describe a case of a 4-year-old girl who presented to the Emergency Department with right calf pain, swelling, and no preceding history of trauma. MRI confirmed a ruptured Baker’s cyst with inflammatory arthropathy alongside an extensive synovial proliferation throughout the knee joint with large joint effusions and associated soft tissue oedema tracking superiorly and inferiorly along the medial head of gastrocnemius and anteriorly along the tibia. Further investigations revealed bilateral uveitis consistent with a diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

The objective of the study was to determine the optimum concentration of BSA in lecithin-based extender for post-thawing quality and incubation resilience (0 h, 6 h and 10 h) of ram sperm. Ejaculates were collected from five rams via electro ejaculation. Ejaculates were mixed to obtain pooled semen. Then, pooled semen was diluted with soybean lecithin-based extender without BSA (control) or supplemented with different concentrations of BSA (2.5 mg/mL, 5 mg/mL, 7.5 mg/mL and 10 mg/mL), at a final concentration of 150x106 spermatozoon/mL. Sperm motility, plasma membrane functional integrity (HOST), mitochondrial activity (rhodamine123), capacitation status (CTC), and DNA integrity (TUNEL) were evaluated. At the 10h incubation, motility, plasma membrane functional integrity and mitochondrial function were better preserved in the BSA5 group compared to the control group. Sustainability of forest resources is, first and foremost, related with the perception of society to these resources. The scheme of utilization with an effective protection-use balance without damaging the resource value will also ensure future generations to be able to benefit from these resources. Therefore, the level of awareness and perception of the society in this context may lead to the complete depletion and destruction of the resource, as well as the potential for sustainable long-term use and utilization. This study was carried out with 460 subjects using face-to-face survey method in order to reveal the forest perception in Çankırı city center. The obtained data were evaluated by Chi-square using statistical package program (SPSS 18). Furthermore, with the Simple Correspondence Analysis, the relationship between educational categories and categorized responses to the impact of the forest to conservation of the biological diversity was examined. As a result of the analyzes, it has been determined that the forest perception in Çankırı province is generally formed on the axis of “tree”, “foliage” and “picnic”. Despite the fact that the forest administrations have many studies on the subject, it is understood that they cannot fully express/explain themselves and their works. On the other hand, it was determined that the educational situation was the most effective variable in forest perception. Therefore, in order to develop and shape the forest perception of the society, it is necessary to give more education and publicity studies in this subject.

Penetrating sharp object injuries in the gluteal region are common. However, it is very rare that these injuries lead to perforation of the small bowel by pelvic penetration, which is generally overlooked. As penetration depth increases, there may be life-threatening injuries such as vascular injury, bowel injury and genitourinary injury depending on the localization of injury site. The case report addressed in the present research focuses on a patient who was admitted to the hospital because of a penetrating sharp object injury in the gluteal region.

Sacroiliitis, an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, is a characteristic finding of ankylosing spondylitis. Acute sacroiliitis has been described relatively uncommonly, and typically featuring the underlying infectious, rheumatic, neoplastic, or drug-related causality. Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the pilosebaceous unit. Oral isotretinoin is a synthetic vitamin A derivative that has been used to treat severe nodulocystic acne and resistant acne to systemic antibiotic therapy. Few cases have been reported about acute sacroiliitis occurence due to oral isotretionin treatment in patients with acne vulgaris. The mechanism of sacroiliitis owing to the use of oral isotretionin is not clear. The cessation of drug after early diagnosis, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory treatment, physical rehabilitation and exercise programs limit the progression of disease and the patients can reach their normal functions within 6 months. In this study, we present 4 cases of acne vulgaris with acute sacroiliitis caused by oral isotretionin.
