The workforce is changing as new employees enter the labour pool. Malaysia’s largest demographic segment is currently Gen Z, constituting 38% of the total population, and boasting a monthly disposable income of US$428 million. Over the next ten years, up to 10 million people in Malaysia born after 1995 (i.e., Gen Z) will enter the workforce. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between job security and employee retention through the mediating mechanism of affective organizational commitment and employees’ psychological empowerment among Gen Z, who are currently working and making up part of the workforce in Malaysia. Gen Z is characterized by distinctive attributes, demanding that human resource management (HRM) professionals anticipate potential innovations in their recruitment and training methodologies. Among the paramount concerns confronting HRM lies the challenge of employee retention, which holds a pivotal position in the overall success of an organization. This centrality is underscored by the financial burdens linked to the recruitment and training of fresh personnel, the disruption of business continuity occasioned by employee departures (commonly referred to as ‘turnover’), and the ensuing decline in productivity stemming from employee attrition. One strategy to increase retention is job security, because the finding of this research show that employees who have job security have high commitment and psychological empowerment, as well as high intention to stay in organizations. Implications for theory and research and management practice are discussed.

Background:Studies indicate that Trichomonas tenax is a significant factor in the development of gingivitis and periodontitis in the gingival region. This organism is an opportunist that can thrive in the environment created by periodontal disease. Objectives:The aim of this study is to detect T. tenax using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) technique in plaque-induced gingivitis (PIG) patients in Babylon. Materials and Methods:This study involved 50 healthy participants (control group) and 50 patients with PIG. Saliva samples were collected from each patient and transported to the Alharithia and Baghdad laboratories of the Advancement Scientific Office Learning Center for molecular testing. Results:T. tenax infection was identified using RT-qPCR and melting curve analysis in 16% of the gingivitis patients (PIG) exposed to plaque. Furthermore, a statistically significant correlation was observed between patient age groups and the presence of PIG disease, as indicated by the t test (27.568, P = 0.000), and between sex, as determined by the t test (8.573, P = 0.000). Conclusion:This study underscores the higher prevalence of T. tenax in patients with PIG disease. Furthermore, it highlights the correlation between these presence of these parasites and the age and sex of PIG disease patients.

Anxiety is identified as a main issue that may highly lead to the feelings of nervousness, worry, tension, and apprehension. The purpose of the study is to measure the impact of the three components of writing anxiety (somatic, avoidance behavior, and cognitive) on Iraqi EFL learners’ attitudes and also attempts to determine the component causing the highest anxiety rates. Besides, the study also aims to detect the key elements that provoke anxiety. Two questionnaire tools, listed under the quantitative approach, were adopted in this study: The Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory developed by Cheng and Causes of Writing Anxiety Inventory developed by Rezaei and Jafari. Hundred Iraqi undergraduate students, 50 males and 50 females, were assigned to take part in this study at “Al-Nisour University College.” The finding demonstrated that the participants are affected by all the three aforesaid components. However, the component “avoidance behavior anxiety” had a higher effect rate on the participants’ attitudes compared to the two components, dubbed “cognitive and somatic” that showed otherwise. Added to this, the findings also revealed a significant difference between genders wherein female learners showed a higher rate of anxiety than their male counterparts. This points out that female students may highly have an inclination to evade the situations demanding writing. Linguistic difficulties, fear of teacher’s negative comments, insufficient writing practice and self-confidence were respectively detected as the highest influential elements behind arousing anxiety. The current study highlighted the causes of writing anxiety and the effect of its components on Iraqi EFL learners and might contribute to paving the way to new teaching methods or techniques to mitigate the effect of these writing anxiety components and boost self-confidence in Iraqi EFL.

AbstractObjectives The present study aimed to calculate the estimated size and confidence interval for the effects of adding visual aid to counselling on anxiety, stress and fear of patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. The secondary aim was to calculate confidence interval for endoscopy-related variables that predict which patients are likely to benefit from visual aids.Method In a randomized, single-blind, two arm, parallel group, superiority trial, 232 consecutive patients who were scheduled to undergo either gastroscopy or colonoscopy were randomly divided into two intervention groups; counselling with video of endoscopic procedure and counselling with no-video (n = 116 in each group). Primary outcome was anxiety and secondary outcomes were stress and fear.Results One-way ANCOVA showed that there was significant between group differences of anxiety, stress and fear after controlling for the effect of covariates. Planned contrasts revealed that counselling along with visual aid of endoscopy procedure significantly decreased anxiety [Mean difference at post; −4.26 (−4.47, −4.05), p < .001, partial η2 = 0.88], stress [−5.35 (−5.63, −5.07), p < .001, partial η2 = 0.86] and fear [−2.82 (−2.97, −2.67), p < .001, partial η2 = 0.86] compared to counselling alone. Linear regression showed that gender, nature of complaints and concern over seniority of endoscopist were significant negative predictors, however, satisfaction on briefing of endoscopy procedure was significant positive predictor of outcome variables in visual aid condition.Conclusion The increase in anxiety, acute stress and fear related to endoscopic procedures can be alleviated with psychological counselling coupled with visual aids before the procedure. Visual aid could lead to supplementary benefits in reducing anxiety scores.Trial Registration ClinicalTrial.gov Number: NCT05241158. Purpose:This study examines the impact of liquidity, cash flow operations, and cash holding on a firm’s profitability, with a moderating role of net working capital.The trade-off and pecking order theories are studied to formulate hypotheses to test the explanatory variables that affect a firm’s profitability of companies in Pakistan Stock Market. Methodology:The quantitative approach was used in this study and the panel data of selected companies were extracted from the Osiris database from 2009 to 2018. Findings:The results show a significant positive connection between liquidity, cash flow operations, cash holdings, net working capital and ROA. As a result, the study’s model was accepted, explaining that liquidity, cash holdings, and cash flow operations positively and significantly affect the ROA. Implications/Originality/Value:Limited evidence is available regarding the impact of net working capital on the affiliation between cash holding and profitability within the Pakistan Stock Market. The present study endeavors to address the above gap by investigating the moderating impact of net working capital on the association between selected factors of cash holding and profitability.

The research aimed at identifying the effect of using exercises with different ball sizes and weights on developing some fundamental skills in soccer players aged 9 – 10 years old. The researchers used the experimental method on (20) soccer players from Amo Baba Soccer School. The subjects were equally divided into two groups. The results showed that using different ball weights and sizes have positive effects on fundamental skill development and significantly improving the level of performance in the experimental group that used ball with lesser weights and smaller size compared to the controlling group. The researchers recommended that coaches and supervisors should use balls of different weights and sizes when teaching soccer to younger age groups U10.

Translators of the Holy Quran confront many quandaries in their attempt to transfer the Qur’anic verses from Arabic into English. One of these quandaries is how to rhetorically communicate the intended meanings (implicatures) of the prepositional phrases in the Holy Qur’an. The translation of Arabic prepositional phrases in the Holy Qur’an as a source text (ST) may lead, in some Qur’anic verses, to a rhetorical loss in communicating their implicature in the target text (TT). That implicature or implicitly communicated meaning other than the explicature is the one intended to be expressed and required to be faithfully translated. In rendering the preposition into the target language (TL), translators bring into home only the explicitly stated meaning unaware of the implicitly stated meaning created as a result of the application of this specific rhetorical device. This study investigates the problem of the rhetorical loss encountered in the translation of prepositional phrases of the Qur’anic verses and identifies the cause of this problem. It also attempts to suggest a mechanism that is, to some extent, helpful and insightful in coping with the difficulties of translating Arabic prepositional phrases in Qur’anic verses. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative content analysis of the Qur’anic verses and their English translations that are relevant to the focus of the research. The source of failure of the English translations of the verses in conveying the rhetorical meanings of prepositional phrases has been identified in terms of the Relevance Theory and the distinction between explicature and implicature of these phrases. The study concludes that meaning equivalence in translation requires translators to be aware of not only the explicitly stated meanings of prepositions but the implicitly communicated ones as well which are recoverable through referring to Arabic heritage resources and interpretation books dedicated to exploring the rhetorical purposes of prepositions alternation in Qur’anic verses. The results of the analysis and the new suggested mechanism have been verified by an Arabic language and Qur’anic sciences expert who is a proficient speaker of English as well.

Syrian banks have witnessed an important change since 2002 with applying the advanced technology. Industrial bank played a crucial role in developing the industrial sector which provides about 25% to the GDP and this sector is the main engine of the national economy in Syria. This research aims to apply total quality management (TQM) to industrial banks of Syria. A random sample of 120 bank employees from higher and middle management were selected to investigate the current situation of TQM in the bank and to develop a new suitable TQM Model. The results show the levels of implementing TQM criteria in the industrial bank, and provide a proposed TQM Model with an implementation plan that could help other Syrian banks to apply TQM in an effective way

Alloreactivity compromising clinical outcomes in stem cell transplantation is observed despite HLA matching of donors and recipients. This has its origin in the variation between the exomes of the two, which provides the basis for minor histocompatibility antigens (mHA). The mHA presented on the HLA class I and II molecules and the ensuing T cell response to these antigens results in graft vs. host disease. In this paper, results of a whole exome sequencing study are presented, with resulting alloreactive polymorphic peptides and their HLA class I and HLA class II (DRB1) binding affinity quantified. Large libraries of potentially alloreactive recipient peptides binding both sets of molecules were identified, with HLA-DRB1 generally presenting a greater number of peptides. These results are used to develop a quantitative framework to understand the immunobiology of transplantation. A tensor-based approach is used to derive the equations needed to determine the alloreactive donor T cell response from the mHA-HLA binding affinity and protein expression data. This approach may be used in future studies to simulate the magnitude of expected donor T cell response and determine the risk for alloreactive complications in HLA matched or mismatched hematopoietic cell and solid organ transplantation.

Samples of plastic agricultural residues composites were prepared for different compositions. Mechanical,thermal and physical tests were performed for all samples. Tensile, flexural, compression, hardness and Izod impact tests were performed as mechanical tests. Optical, thermal mechanical and density tests and measurements were also conducted for all samples to insure and confirm the physical properties and stabilities. Results of56 %weight percentage ratio of reinforcing phase (agricultural residue) shows a good properties for samples which include coupling agent, UV Stabilizer and lubricantsas 7% of weight percentages.

This study introduces Net Export (NX) models to examine the determinants of the trade flows between Australia and eight selected trading partner (TP) countries (China, France, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States of America) in four selected Trade Deficit (TD) categories (Pharmaceutical Products; Nuclear Reactors, Boilers, Machinery and Mechanical Appliances; Electrical Machinery and Equipment; Sound Recorders and Producers, and Vehicles Other Than Railway or Tramway Rolling-Stock). A total of 29 NX models are estimated, which are based on both the monetary and Quantity (QTY) values. Findings in this study suggest that macroeconomic variables such as money supply, interest rates and savings rates have no-significant effect in the determination of the NX levels in the selected categories. This highlights that monetary policy cannot influence the NX levels in the selected TD categories in Australia. This study also identifies some policy implications which arise from this paper.

Salmonellosis is one of the major public health concerns in Bahrain as it has increased rapidly during the past few years. This study aims to determine the prevalence of salmonellosis in children and the possible risk factors such as age, geographical area, nationality, gender, unsafe drinking water, infant born weight and gastrointestinal disease. The cases of salmonellosis in children reported by the Ministry of Health of Bahrain ranged from 21 to 26 per 100,000 population during the period 2012–2016. Salmonellosis cases were geographically concentrated in the capital and northern regions. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference in the number of salmonellosis cases between Bahrainis and non-Bahrainis based on region, and gender (p < 0.001). In the Bahraini cohort, there was an association between the increase of cases and the number of gastrointestinal disease-related deaths (p < 0.05). In addition, unsafe water (over the level of 2.14%) and low-birth weight (p = 0.086 and p = 0.126, respectively) with the increase of salmonellosis cases. Despite the decline in the number of cases, the results of this study contribute to the understanding of the epidemiology of Salmonella in humans and this, in turn, will help develop and implement preventative measures.

Online distance learning policies were formulated and implemented among some Malaysian universities long ago, but their value emerged since COVID-19. Emanating from the diffusion of innovation theory, this study examined the perception of higher education students on the influence and relationship between six independent variables (compatibility, observability, relative advantage, complexity, trialability, and digital skills) and one dependent variable (digital literacy). A total of 524 respondents were sampled, comprising students from six public and private Malaysian universities. The findings from the correlation analysis show a significant positive relationship between the six independent variables and the dependent variable. Meanwhile, in the regression analysis, three of the independent variables (observability, trialability, and digital skill) have a significant and positive effect on digital literacy. This study placed the diffusion of innovation in a specific context that supports designing online distance learning and digital literacy policies.

Preliminary researche on job path and job progress has been typically in relation with examining demographic and individual factors and job achievement. For example, demographic factors like age and marital status, and individual factors like education and experience were recognized as strong job achievement determinants. Recent experimental evidence also supports that social-demographic features (age, gender) are the basic or strong predictors of job achievement.In this respect, the issue of emotional intelligence has also been recognized as another factor in this field. For this purpose, a questionnaire was used, whose validity and reliability were confirmed. A sample of 100 people from the. Staff of Islamic Azad University of Tabriz was selected, whose objective and subjective job achievements were examined. The results of these examinations were as follows: 1) There is no significant and direct correlation between emotional intelligence and subjective job achievement, 2)There is a significant and direct correlation between emotional intelligence and objective job achievement, 3)There is no significant correlation between age and objective job achievements, 4) There is no significant correlation between age and subjective job achievements, 5)Score difference of objective job achievement based on gender is significant, and 6) Score difference of subjective job achievement based on gender is insignificant.

The associations among these dimensions, and the relationship to overall health status, have not been clearly identified. The purpose of this quantitative, descriptive study was to explore differences between spirituality, depressive symptoms, and quality of life among elders with and without heart failure. A total of 44 elders with heart failure and 40 non-heart failure elders completed several questionnaires including: The Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale (DSES), Spirituality Index of Well-Being (SIWB), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), and SF-12™ Health Survey. There were significant differences in the groups on gender and ethnicity; thus these variables were controlled in the analyses related to the dependent variables. After controlling for gender and ethnicity, there were significant differences in the physical component of quality of life and spiritual well-being. The heart failure patients had significantly lower physical quality of life but more spiritual well-being than the non-heart failure patients. Abstract In this present work computational models are fabricated , these model depended on the elements of longitudinal finned tube to design the roll bound evaporator . The computational models consist of empirical and mathematical correlation beside values of each design variables and variable boundaries that is obtained from experimental tests . The design variables values present heat transfer coefficient of refrigerants , pressure drop , pressure gain through the multi pass channel , oil effect , shape and cross section area as a ratio to it's boundary , dimensions of longitudinal fin where the variable boundaries present the experimental values for the evaporator's surface temperature and cooling space temperature . The computational models depend on numerical iterative method to estimate the length of element between two nods ( step ) , where these estimation depend on heat balance . From the comparison between simulation program result with two roll bond evaporators that was manufactured by professional company it can be seen that computational result for 117 watt evaporator capacity are accurate within ( 7.3 % ) in length and ( 1.5 % ) in refrigeration capacity , while the comparison with 152 watt evaporator capacity it can be seen that computational result are accurate within ( 1.4 % ) in length and ( 4.5 % ) in refrigeration capacity .

This study aimed to examine the relationships between facilitating writing anxiety (FWA), debilitating writing anxiety (DWA), mastery-approach goal (MAG), performance-approach goal (APPG) and performance-avoidance goal (AVOG). In total, 300 Iraqi undergraduate students participated in the study. A quantitative approach was applied in particular correlational design. Two questionnaires were utilized for data collection: The Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI) and Achievement Goal Questionnaire (AGQ). The results of the study indicated that some students showed a high rate of debilitating anxiety, which led them to pursue performance-avoidance goal. Yet, the two factors of performance-avoidance goal and debilitating writing anxiety were negatively associated with the set of the three factors: mastery-approach goal, performance-approach goal and facilitating writing anxiety. Conversely, there were positive relationships between mastery-approach goal, performance-approach goal and facilitating writing anxiety. In the light of these findings, this study proposes that EFL learners need to consider the affective factors of debilitating anxiety and performance avoidance goal that are likely to undermine their confidence and motivation which may lead them to a maladaptive behavior.

More accurately, individuals with a high level of language anxiety incline to study extensively but their accomplishment does not concur with the effort they exert. Based on this, anxiety could impact individuals' behaviors, attitudes, and written work while demanding writing. Such individuals tend to have more intricacy in producing organized ideas, describing a few words, and shorter paragraphs. They also write composition with numerous errors, for instance, inappropriate grammatical, and rhetorical conventions and lexical variety. Furthermore, there are several conflicting evidence about the influence of anxiety on individuals writing ability. On one hand, writing anxiety is labelled as a main issue in writing ability as it triggers individuals' concentration and accuracy. Such anxiety is called a facilitative anxiety which could vastly motivate students to take part in writing tasks. It has been reported, on the other hand, that anxiety negatively impacts the development of individuals' writing skills.
